A Brief Analysis of Obamacare
I would like to approach this assignment, from the point of view of a third person and I am planning to
present it in the form of a research paper. The organization of this paper will be as follows: Section 1
will include an introduction of the ObamaCare, along with its facts and also the arguments put forward
by the opponents. Section 2 will briefly list some of the opponents (e.g. Republicans) and proponents
(e.g. Democrats) of the ObamaCare. The arguments made by the opponents of the Obama Care will be
supported by the evidences in section 3, and it will also point out the interest of the opponents that
may be served if the ObamadCare is repealed. Conversely, section 4 will talk about the evidences for
the arguments put forward by the proponents of the ObamaCare and also their stake, if the Obamacare
bill is passed. Lastly, I will present my view on ObamaCare and substantiate it with evidences.

Essay On International Law
Conclusion
Ziad Al Masri
Miss Senn

Russia s Violation of International Law As a result of their current manipulative actions in Crimea,
Russia has shown a willful disregard for the Treaty it signed at the Fourth Geneva Convention in
1949, wherein all civilians are entitled to protection from armed conflict between two countries.
Geneva Conventions broadly outline the fundamental rights of wartime detainees for all citizens and
military personnel, create assurances for the injured and debilitated, and set up insurances for citizens
in and around a battle region. In this manner, the Geneva Convention has made rules and guidelines to
ensure that all humanity is entitled to basic rights. The Fourth Geneva ... Show more content on

In turn, this would lead to subtle influences by Russia. Russia has demonstrated by its recent actions
that it is driven by power and greed. It has shown a willful ignorance of civilian casualties as it has
they want what Cremia has to offer. The real question is what does Crimea have that Russia wants that
bad that they are breaking the Fourth Geneva Convention for? Well Cremia is very rich in natural oil
and gas which they want to help because Russia Siberian energy reserves are dwindling. Cremia is
also known for its amazing seaside cliffs and summer mansions which does attract a lot of tourists.
Russia has also taken down major water plants which have cut off Ukrainians from water supply. Back
in 1947 Joseph Stalin who was the leader of the Soviet Union party signed the Fourth Geneva
Convention to ensure a good future for his country and people. Look at what Putin has done he is
disrespecting his predecessor who built his country and signed this treaty.
Casualties
By first attacking and annexing Crimea with stealth powers and after moving into and possessing
eastern parts of Ukraine, Putin was sending clear flags to his neighbors that endeavors to democratize,
change, and incorporate all the more intimately with Western establishments like the European Union
would not be allowed. Crimea is currently part of The Ukraine however

Tupac Themes
Tupac Shakur Tupac Shakur had a lot to live for. His devoted fans, his fiancée Kidada Jones, and a
dream to help children from a background like his own. And yet, he still belonged to a violent world.
Tupac Amaru Shakur, or Lesane Parish Crooks, was born in East Harlem NYC June 16, 1971. His
mother Afeni Skakur, and his father Billy Garland were active members in the Black Panther Party.
Tupac was named after the South American Revolutionary Tupac Amaru. Before he started his music
career, Tupac began his career as a roadie back up dancer for the alternative hip hop group Digital
Underground, eventually branching off as a solo artist. Most of the themes in Shakur s songs revolved
around the violence and hardship in the inner cities, racism, and other issues that involved social
things. During the latter part of his career, Shakur was a vocal participant during the East Coast West
Coast hip hop rivalry, becoming involved in conflicts with other rappers, producers, and record label
staff members. Aside from his career in music, Shakur was also a poet and an actor. All eyez on me
was the fourth studio album by Tupac recorded on October 1995, which was released on February 13
1996. In October 1991, Shakur filled a $10 million civil suit against the Oakland Police Department

Steven Johnson s Emergence
In Emergence, Steven Johnson argues that small scale interactions give way to global behaviors first
examining ant colonies, and thereafter analyzing human cells, virtual cities, and real cities. Economic
models from the 1990s show that, in the absence of confounding variables, businesses will naturally
self organize into evenly spaces clusters. I wonder how physical features like lakes, forests, and
mountains impact these models. I also wonder how the organizational structure of a city (grid like
versus radial) impacts the locational decisions of businesses.

Marie Antoinette s Influence On France
Marie Antoinette
Part I: Introduction
Marie Antoinette was the queen of France and could be seen as a controversial figure. She grew up in
Austria and later moved to France, causing an outrage since she was an outsider.. Many events were
blamed on her which had a huge impact on France. Many opposed her due to her poor leadership
skills and lack of interest in the people. Marie Antoinette, along with her husband Louis XVI, came
into power at a difficult time. France was in debt and revolutions were rising. Unfortunately, Marie
Antoinette lacked the leadership and confidence necessary to rule. The time period of her rule was
during the Enlightenment in the late 1700 s. Marie Antoinette was later executed in the guillotine for
being found guilty of treason. Marie Antoinette, the queen of France, greatly impacted the history of
Western Civilization by her excessive spending, her incompetence to rule, and her flight to Varennes.
Part II: Background
On November 22, 1755, Marie Antoinette, who had a great impact on France, was born. She would
later become the queen of France. Marie Antoinette was brought up by her parents, Empress Maria
Theresa and Francis of Lorraine in Vienna, Austria. She was born into the wealthy Hapsburg family
and was the fifteenth in the birth order out of sixteen children (Lotz and Phillips, 11). As a child, her
mother influenced her to play music and Marie Antoinette enjoyed playing the harp. At the age of 10,
her mother knew that she needed to marry a

Fashioning a Fraud Case Study Essay
In this article, Bobbie Jean Donnelly was a fraudster who used Travel and Expense reimbursements to
defraud her company. Donnelly figured out how to manipulate her travel and expense reimbursements
to eventually defraud her company of about $275,000. Had her company had proper controls in place
for travel and expense reimbursements, wouldn t have occurred to this magnitude.
Donnelly was targeted in an internal investigation because she was one of three employees with the
highest amounts of travel and expense reimbursements hers totaling, $115,000. One of the red flags in
the case was the fact that Donnelly s supervisor had only submitted $40,000 in travel and expense
reimbursements that year. It turned out that Donnelly had been using ... Show more content on

When this scheme was used, Donnelly would also follow Exhibit 7 6 from Wells, and prepare an
expense report claiming numerous taxi expenses. For supporting documentation she would alter or
photocopy the original receipt and then change amounts of tip or total. These could have either been
forged or given to the supervisor who at first glance may not realize that these are fictitious
documents. This type of fraud is difficult to prevent but can easily be detected. Fictitious
reimbursements can be detected by; expenses that are consistently rounded off, patterns in which
expenses are consistently for the same amount, reimbursement requests that are consecutively
numbered, or receipts that do not look professional or lack information. (Wells, 187 188)
Preventing and detecting reimbursement expenses can be very challenging and time consuming for
companies. However, in order to prevent these schemes, a company needs to have explicit policies
that clearly convey to each and every employee what will and will not be reimbursed. Donnelly was
able to defraud her company out of a quarter of a million dollars in a short two year period. In order to
prevent these schemes and not use up so much time, Kessler points out that there are tools that could
be used to examine and parse such data [which] include IDEA Data Analysis Software, Audit

Descriptive Essay About My First Love
It was early in September, still warm out but autumn was just around the corner. Today was an
exciting day, because tonight would be an exciting night. Tonight would finally be the night. I was
ready... right?
My tall, soccer player boyfriend laid on his bed in his dimly lit room. The room resembled that of a 12
year old stuffy, unkempt and lacking any sense of maturity. Why clean a room that mom was still there
to clean, I figured he thought.
I was 16, only days away from turning 17, but when I told this story later on I would say, I was only
16. He was 17. His walls lined with Manchester United posters while dirty clothes covered most of his
old wooden floor. His room somehow managed to smell both like dirty laundry, and a freshly

That exhilarating word flashed through my head. Sex. My life was about to change forever. This was
my first relationship. My first love. My first time. He had been in another long term relationship
before dating me. He was... experienced, and he made that abundantly clear.
Slowly but surely our lips met and the night accelerated in a matter of seconds. Kissing turned to
caressing, caressing turned to a different kind of touching, a more intimate kind. Fingers crawling
around in places they d never been before. Was this supposed to feel good? I remember wondering.
But I didn t want him to see me wondering. He was the experienced one, this should be feeling good, I
should show him how good this feels.
You think your first time is going to be magical an orgasm like fireworks on the Fourth of July. No
one tells you that so many thoughts cross your mind at once; it s nearly impossible to understand what
s happening. When you re young you think Prince Charming is going to whisk you away to his castle
with the promise of deflowering you in the most affectionate way. You think your mind will be filled
with love and tenderness. But instead your mind trails off is it in? Should I know? Should he know?
How do I know when it s

Reaction to The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien
In The Things They Carried, Tim O Brien uses a variety of stories to explain the life experiences that
he and many of his fellow soldiers endured during a single year in Vietnam. He tells these stories in a
way that we can connect to these experiences. We never spent time in Vietnam, but O Brien wants us
to feel like we were there. O Brien uses what he calls story truth to write these stories. The outcome or
the people may be different but the feeling is real; that s the truth in the story, the feeling. He wants us
to feel what he felt, see what he saw. He doesn t just tell us what was happening exactly; he tells a
fictional story that conveys the same emotion. He plays with the truth, that s the reason why this book

He didn t kill the man because he was in danger; he did it because he was scared. He was a coward.
He tells us in the chapter Ambush that he was in no real peril and the young man would ve passed him
by . He knew that he wasn t in danger but he killed the man anyway because that s what you were
supposed to do in war; you were supposed to kill. He wasn t being brave; he was giving into the idea
of war. He was doing something that he didn t believe in. The Vietnam War had a life changing effect
on the soldiers, including O Brien. They came into the war as boys as young as seventeen and left
either in body bags made of their own poncho or they came out alive. But were they ever really alive?
No, they had their innocence ripped out. They weren t young boys anymore. Their young selves were
killed out in that jungle and all that was left was a carcass of gruesome memories of the tragedy of
war, the deaths of their fellow soldiers. They changed as people. O Brien came into the war as a young
man against war. A young soul believing that the Vietnam War was wrong and there was no need for
fighting or killing. However, toward the end of the book he tells us the story of how he got revenge on
a fellow soldier. This soldier, while in the middle of war, took too long in treating O Brien for a bullet
wound and also should have treated him for shock. O Brien almost dies on the field but fortunately

Business Liability Insurance
Liability insurance is a way to protect your business against the effects of potential damage that your
business can cause to other people or their property. Let us say that somebody got injured or his
property was damaged due to another person s business, that person can legally sue the owner of the
business. The owner would be held responsible for the harm that his business has caused. The
definition for the word liability is as follows: Being legally responsible for something . When the legal
responsibility is established, the owner of the business will have to pay compensation for the harm that
his business has done to a person or to their property. If the harm was an injury, the National Health
Service can ask for compensation for the costs of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because the possibility of younger drivers having accidents is much greater than a more
experienced driver. Also the more power a car has is greater the chances of an accident so the cost of
the premium will be higher. The price of the premium also depends on the business sector that the
insurer is concentrated on as some firms specialize in particular sectors and can evaluate the risks
more accurately. This way they will give better offers, (usually a smaller premium), than to the more
mainstream insurers. If the business has small or medium risk involved, the insurers will usually have
the standard rate applied to determine the cost of the premium. The insurer will use this rate to apply a
factor that is determined by level of activity taking place in that business. This involves looking at the
turnover in public and product liability insurance or the company s employees liability insurance.
However, there may be some other factors in the process of the determination of the premium such as
historical claims records and experience and risk management procedures. If the business involves
high risk, the price of the premium will probably be discussed in a very scrupulous way putting every
detail into

Julian Thomas Humanism
In the comparison of Julian Thomas chapter Archaeology s Humanism and the Materiality of the Body
, and Joanna R. Sofaer s chapter The Body as an Archeological Resource it was found that individuals
are characterized by cultural identities. In Thomas chapter there was an emphasis on how individuals
view themselves, particularly in regards to associated cultural stigmas. Sofaer claims that the body is
the major archeological source with cultural characteristics.
In Archaeology s Humanism and the Materiality of the Body , the major idea that was highlighted was

However The Body as an Archeological Resource , seemed to be more focused on the archeological
aspects of how bodies are understood and analyzed in archeology for the bigger picture. Archaeology
s Humanism and the Materiality of the Body was more a philosophical debate about how people
perceive archeology and seemed to be very negative and cynical. The second reading tied more into
the overall significance of the class as it highlights how people are understood in the global and
overall context. The first reading, which began by emphasizing that cultural identifiers should be
removed when analyzing humans, did not make sense to me. Our personalities are shaped by who we
are in society and how we have made a change. If the cultural associations were removed from
Alexander the Great, he would no longer be known as the great divine ruler. Furthermore, the
Holocausts was not just caused by a man who wanted power, rather a man who did not like a specific
culture caused it. I personally disagree with Osteoarchaeologists, as different social barriers created
history and the overall importance of archeology is to understand history and past cultures.
Archeology is the study of understanding humans, cultures and the past, not just focusing on the

Anxiety Disorder In Dorothy Parker s A Telephone Call
Anxiety, an unnerving feeling that brings uneasiness to the human mind. Thousands of individuals get
help from friends and loved ones, as they want someone to help them. With a constant source of
comfort, one can go too far, giving birth to an unhealthy need for someone called separation anxiety
disorder. According to the DSM 5 , this disorder is the fear of separation from attachment figures to a
degree that is developmentally inappropriate . Darling in Dorothy Parker s A Telephone Call displays
signs of separation anxiety disorder when talking about her man. The protagonists symptoms include:
an excessive distress when separated from her lover, a constant worry of losing her date, and a
persistent dread of a life without her partner. Parker s Darling stresses out over her separation from her
attachment figure. The plot revolves around the narrator waiting for her boyfriend s call. Patients with
separation anxiety disorder are frightened of not being in close contact to their loved one. These
people are overwhelmed when the person is gone, since they provide hope and joy. The phone call
acts as a stress reliever, a way for the protagonist to feel more secured. Once her stress reliever doesn t
work, Darling goes to God, accusing him for making her feel this way. She exclaims, You don t know
how it feels. You re so safe, there on Your throne, with the blue swirling under You... no one can twist

response to the other s idea. Generally, the three most common attitudes of response are agreement,
disagreement and combination of the former two attitudes. Since a disagreement to someone s idea
means a new argument in the essay, authors claim that the writer who shows a disagreement to
someone s idea should continue providing a reason or explanation. Equally, writer who shows a
combination attitude to someone s idea should continue stating the part that he/she disagree and the
reasons of this attitude. Besides the strategies, authors also provide the templates in clearly responding

Gun Control Now And The Federal Level
Gun Control Now
Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to where we are now,
we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation as it exists now. As legislation varies greatly
between states, we ll start by looking at gun control at the federal level.
As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a
firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, to possess firearms and
handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced
to 0 and 18 respectively. Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine
guns (weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger) manufactured after 1986 (18 U.S.
Code § 922).
Additionally, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions on certain
weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA weapons are not explicitly illegal to
possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which
includes a much more in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such
weapons.
Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun ownership. Under the
NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which
includes such weapons under a total weapon length, not just those with short

Hunger Games Response
The Hunger Games 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO! The Hunger Games by suzanne collins is an amazing book. The
main characters are Katniss, peeta, gale and katniss s sister Prim, Prim was chosen to be in the hunger
games and Katniss volunteered as tribute. She was the first ever person to volunteer in 55 years. The
reason she volunteered is because she knew her sister didn t have a chance in the hunger games. The
hunger games is about people who verse and survive to the death. Their is one winner and their is 2
people who enter in a district. Peeta and katniss were the two people who were chosen to go into the
hunger games dome. A significant passage in the hunger games is ¨i volunteer!¨ I volunteer as tribute!¨
The reason this is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason it is love is because the author wrote that katniss is the girl who cannot love. The only
thing katniss has done was spent her whole life just trying to survive because of that she does not
really get attached to people. But of course there s one boy named Gale that she kinda likes. Then
there s peeta who she s just pretending to be in love with for the games. In the hunger games romance
can be a really great way to survive. By kissing her co tribute Peeta, katniss was able to score support
and gifts from her sponsors. None of this helps katniss figure out who she really is though. Something
that everything deals with is death. It is not an unknown topic to all families it happens every day. In
the hunger games there can only be one survivor. That means everyone else has to die. In their death is
sad or sometimes is good for their benefit. But in real life it is sad. In the story Katniss has to deal with
death all around her. A cannon goes off each time someone dies so katniss had death go on all around
her. She also had to kill people too and get close to getting killed but luckily survived. She wanted to
survive as well she also wanted peeta to survive.

Stereotypes In Of Coming Of John
The next race to come across some major stereotypes are the African Americans. Although every race
has the ordeal that it had to go through one of the worse challenges that were thought of were given to
the African Americans which made life horrible for them in the past, still in the present, and more than
likely in the future as well. In the short story Of Coming of John, by W.E.B. DuBois It was perceived
that when it comes to education matters the African American community is not very upcoming while
the caucasian community is always very pleased and supportive of everything that someone of their

Native Son, when it was stated that all black men want to do is go out and rape white women, (Wright
page 351 ). This places a stereotype upon us that is ultimately hard to escape from, with people
running from you without even taking the chance to get to know you and you having to prove yourself
to them from a distance, even though deep down you know you will never be good enough to please
them. While most forms of racial stereotypes follow in the fashion of others judging you because of
the rumors they hear, it also comes in the form of them using very invective language towards you. As
seen by Richard Wright on page 337, all of the white people were calling Bigger racial names and
racial slurs in an attempt to try and dehumanize him from all other humans so that way they feel better
for the horrible way that they were treating

Diary Of A Young Girl
Faith is seeing light with your heart when all your eyes see is darkness. In Anne Frank s journal, she
paints a vivid story as she and her family flee the Nazis and go into hiding to survive. As she and her
family are stuck in hiding for longer and longer, tensions between the group begin to escalate. In The
Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, she stays sane as long as she does because of her faith in God
and that he will make things better.
One such instance happens in February of 1943, after Anne and her family have been in the Secret
Annexe for a while. As Anne slips into depression, she begins to find happiness in God. As she says,
The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely, or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere they can be
with quite alone with the heavens, nature, and God, and When I looked outside right into the depth of
Nature and God, then I was happy, really happy. This is the first time she really seems to be happy

As their investigation brings them closer to the Secret Annexe, Anne says, God truly protected us; just

menu for supper consists of kidney beans, pea soup, potatoes with dumplings, potato chalet, and, by
the grace of God, occasionally turnip tots or rotten carrots, and then the kidney beans once again. As
you can see religion gets her through tough times throughout the book. Throughout Anne s diary, you
can see as she shifts from believing that everything is awful, to believing that God will make things
better for the Jews. Although Anne and her family are ultimately discovered, boredom, depression,
and anxiety are overcome by her faith. Religion ultimately gets her through the worst of

Personal Note On Leadership And Leadership
1.0 Introduction
All individual has some dreams and goals for his/her betterment, improvement or successful future.
But, unfortunately, only having ideas and objectives is not sufficient. We need to take practical steps,
make a change, and works to get them in a better way, and these measures and actions demand a
different kind of knowledge, skills and talent to become successful. After my encounter with the
module, I was able to make some personal change. This module has changed my views, even my
philosophy of life being a leader and how to manage change.

The model has three distinct stages. The first phase is called endings. I had to let go of the way I waste
my time on irrelevant things that have affected me in the past. For example during my MSc degree, I
spent a lot of time that almost cost me meeting up with the deadline that would have affected my
result. During this process, I experienced mixed emotions as I was very frustrated because I won t be
able to do things at my convenience time anymore. I went through real pain and gut wrenching,
mainly because I can t do things at my convenience time anymore. Although, I was well prepared for
managing the change as it s for my betterment.
The second stage was stressful for me as I experience higher workload with my new system of
working and living my life. I suffered low morale and low productivity on my assignment and things I
do. Finally, the third stage, the new beginning. I was happy to embrace the change and building on the
skills I needed to work successfully in a new way is my priority. I saw signs of high energy in things I
do e.g. not getting stressed up at the end of day, I become more efficient at setting and achieving
priorities and objectives and was able to learn more about my strengths and weakness.
Making this changes has benefited my life as it s given me extra time to spend with my family, spend
time on things I enjoyed, devote the hour of my education and work. I learned how to delegate, having

My Experience Of Moving To A New Country
Moving to a new house it s exciting but moving to a new country it s terrifying. That s how I felt when

Richard Branson Leadership
Richard Branson
Richard Branson was born in England in 1950. Since a little kid, he was encouraged to be independent
accomplishing challenges set by his mother at short age. Branson saw this as opportunities to
overcome weaknesses and conquer a small part of the world . He was not a good student, for he was
struggling at school due to dyslexia, and ended up dropping from school at age of 16. It was the
beginning of an entrepreneurial career. At that time he founded a Magazine called Student with great
success. Then he diversified to mail order record business. He founded Virgin Records in London,
England, and started, entrepreneurial projects, expanding his business into other sectors. Virgin Group

Richard Branson promotes inside his company open communication between employees, managers
and himself. Anyone in the company knows they can call him to share with him innovative ideas or
suggestions.
Inside the company communications are promoted between the different areas. At the time when the
company is developing a new project they promote a team of different departments working together
to have the better outcome of the project. As the company involves employees in product
development, the result will be not only in a better product design, but also it adds impetus of an
immense pride of association factor: We came up with this as a team. Everyone wins, including
customers and shareholders.
Position as Manager in Virgin
As a manager I prefer flat structures where employees have a sense of ownership and freedom to be
creative, express ideas and be proactive. Some characteristic of Richard Branson s leadership style I
admire is the open communication between the employees and the directives, the possibility to work
as a team with employees from other departments to solve problems and improve products and the
possibility to allow workers to share their visions to develop innovations. For a manager to be able to

Joe s price increase is too large and Joe has other competitors who do not raise their prices, then it is
possible that the percentage decrease in quantity demanded will result in a decrease in total revenue.

CHAPTER 6 | Elasticity: The Responsiveness of Demand and Supply
1.8
No, we don t have enough information to calculate the price elasticity of demand. To calculate the
price elasticity of demand we would need to know how the quantity demanded changed in response to
a change in price keeping all other things constant. In this case other things were not held constant:
academic offerings were bolstered with at least three hands on experiences outside the classroom,
which created a buzz. This suggests that there was a shift in the demand curve and not just a
movement along it. 1.9
Using the midpoint formula, the percentage change in price = ($99 $199/$149) = 67%. Using the
midpoint formula, if sales double, then the percentage change in quantity will equal 67%. The price
elasticity of demand is 67%/ 67% = 1. Using the midpoint formula, if sales triple, then the percentage
change in quantity demanded will equal 100%. In this case, the price elasticity of demand will be
100%/
67% = 1.49.

Conflict Theory On Society And Human Behavior
Conflict theory is the view that the struggle for power in society and human behavior in social
contexts results from conflicts between competing groups (Siegel, 2015, pg.198). Ted Bundy always
acted alone in his crimes and was never a part of any group that suffered discrimination or oppression
by the government. Dr, Carlisle observed that Bundy was a private person who won t open up and
reveal himself to others. He doesn t want to be known by others (Ramsland, 2011, pg. 113). The most
Bundy ever did was volunteer during his high school and early college years in local political races.
Politics gave me the opportunity to be close to people, he said. To be socially involved with them... as
a consequence of working with them. You get very close. You drink each night and people sleep with
each other. It s a sort of built in social life...In politics you can move between the various strata of
society. You can talk and mingle with people to whom otherwise you would have absolutely no access
(Michaud Aynesworth, 2000, pg. 11). Marxist or Radical theory The Marxists theory was developed
by Karl Marx who believed that modern capitalism had turned workers into a dehumanized mass who
lived an existence that was at the mercy of their employers which led him to conclude that the
character of every civilization is determined by its mode of production (Siegel, 2015, pg. 199).
Richard Quinney derived the radical theory which is derived from the Marxist theory and describes

Prejudice In The Swing Era
The swing era was vast and equally varietal. From Benny Goodman to Chick Webb or Artie Shaw
each had their individual sound . Moreover, this separated them and gave them their own appeal to the
masses. However, The swing era occurred at a time when racism and prejudice still had a strong
foothold in public eye. While playing swing did allow a member of a minority to have some freedom
from this prejudice, they still could not expect the same treatment as the white players. In The Swing
Era: Pure Pleasure swing was described as an escape for people who are down on their luck.
Moreover, Swing gave people hope and a place to break free and forget about your trouble. This is
most likely why swing climbed so aggressively into popular culture. Swing was not just a type of
music; it was a lifestyle. The bands that toured lived a breathed swing. Some bands would have to
sleep in their bus or car because they could not afford to get a room. They would either sleep in the
bus or go out and look for a home that was willing to be shared for the night. Bands would sometimes
be fed and sheltered by these families. The video said that these families were not ... Show more

Gender Roles Since High School Essay
Gender roles resurfaced as a pivotal factor in my life during my late adolescence. In our culture
different sports are considered to be male and female dominated respectively. Unfortunately little is
done to challenge or resist these societal norms and I experienced this first hand during my senior year
of high school. Volleyball, which is considered to be a sport primarily for girls and women, was not
offered to boys at my high school. Subsequently, I was forced to petition for approval towards the
creation of a male volleyball which ultimately went unsuccessful due to time constraints and
unwillingness to help from staff and administration. While this example pertained to male exclusion
countless female friends of mine struggled to participate in male dominated sports throughout high
school including wrestling and lacrosse. Part of what schools are supposed to be doing under Title IX,
and often are not doing, is regularly assessing girls interest, looking to see what sports girls are
playing and asking girls what they want to play that is currently not being offered (Wallace). In this
instance my districts athletic director directly impacted the sporting experiences for the entire student
body by failing to adhere to sufficient standards with respect to gender norms. High school sports
presented a unique culture with respect to sport. Trends throughout my high school strongly reinforced
dominant ideologies throughout society. Links between athletic success and

Different Attitudes And Views Among Generations
The proposal of each author portrays different attitudes and views among generations, each author
discusses a similar idea of why each writer is different. Disregarding the audience each author focuses
on, the main purpose is to argue whether writing has changed or remained similar through generation.
One author believes that technology influenced writing as opposed to two authors who believe it is
within the writer itself (authors interest). There is one author who believes that writing has not refined
through generations. Despite the different attitudes towards writing, the authors establish a common
talking point about what effects writing and why. Those who fall under the first camp of composing
relate writing to self importance. The second camp discusses how different types of support affect the
style of writing, while the last camp believes delivery and articulation changes the way an author
writes. Most of the authors agree that time has an importance as well as an impact relating to writing.
Those who oppose do not believe that writing has changed or at least has not changed because of
generations. That is to say that each camp discusses the ideas of that author in order to support their
reasoning. The argument raised in this paper is if writing has changed over time. In regards to the first
camp Cristina Nehring argues that writing is becoming a figure of time in her article What s wrong

Rah reference of Dr. Martin Luther King s letter, shows, The deep levels of racism, cultural
insensitivity, and cultural incompetence have yielded a deep seated rift between different communities
in the United States. Not only have explicit examples of racism generated animosity and mistrust, but
implicit approval of racism and a passive inactivity toward injustice have perpetuated the racial divide.
The knee goes deeper as this divide happens in America.
When the knee goes deeper, what did it say about racial matters? If the justice system had been fair in
its assessments of the incidents that happened across America, there would not be a movement of
black lives matter. If the justice system would have shown that all lives matter when an officer is
negligent with the discharge of their weapons against a twelve year old boy playing with a toy gun in a

Oppression Is The Driving Force Behind The Violence
Oppression is the driving force behind the violence in Israel. It is based on a land dispute that led to
oppression and now the violence seen today. Israel is plagued with a cycle of violence and fear. There
are many factors behind the climate of terror that is taking place in Israel, but none as significant as
oppression. The establishment of Israel by Jews led to many changes for Palestinian Arabs, who were
already living in the area. Many of these changes were oppressive and intrusive to the Palestinian
Arabs way of life. As can be expected, wherever there is oppression, violence and fear normally
follow. Both sides have suffered losses amidst this violence. Jews claim they fled to Palestine to avoid
persecution and that establishing Israel as a Jewish state would be the only way to ensure their safety.
Yet their safety, and now the safety of Palestinian Arabs, are both unsure. In the late 1800 s, Jews
across Europe began fleeing to Palestine to avoid anti Semitism and persecution. During this era, there
was a movement known as the Zionist; the Zionists wanted to return to the Jewish Holy Land to
establish a Jewish state that would serve as a sanctuary for Jews. However, according to the State of
Israel Proclaimed (State), at this time the Zionist leadership was unable to persuade the Ottoman
Empire to grant them a charter. The following decades would see sporadic migration of Jews into
Palestine. World War I brought about more change in Palestine, including

A Brief Introduction to the Pinch Analysis
The economics of industrial production, limitation of global energy supply, and the realities of
environmental conservation are an enduring concern for all industries. Wherever you turn, there s
another entreaty to save energy, reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment for posterity.
Pinch analysis is a tools used to design a heat exchanger networks (HEN) that reduce the energy
usage. This paper will be about brief introduction for the pinch analysis, application of the second law
of thermodynamics in design heat exchanger network
Pinch Analysis:
Pinch technology is the technology that provides a systematic methodology for energy saving in
processes and total sites. The methodology is based upon first low and second low of ... Show more

Minimizing the total entropy produced by heat exchanger network lead to minimizing the use of high
energy quality. The entropy can define for single heat exchanger i.e. exchange heat of one hot stream
with one cold stream as
S=∮▒dS=∫▒dq/T
S=∫_(T_Hi)^(T_Ho)▒(C_H dT_H)/T_H ∫_(T_Ci)^(T_Co)▒(C_C dT_C)/T_C
〖S=C〗_C ln⁡
〖(T_Co/T_Ci 〗) C_H ln⁡
〖(T_Hi/T_Hi 〗)
Sets of heat exchanger network will have constant total entropy when they use same type and amount
of utilities. On the other hand, the entropy will vary for networks having different types and amount of
utilities. The networks entropy that is used high energy qualities is higher than the one that used low
energy qualities. The changes come from using high energy qualities, and this lead to have higher
temperature different in some heat exchangers, hence high entropy. Due to that, the total area of the
networks also will vary with the use of different utilities since total area is in related with temperature
different in heat exchanger. As the temperature different increase the area will decrease.
Furthermore, total entropy can be used as objected furcation in mathematical programing. Total
entropy can help to find total energy required with from each energy levels in small code.
Case study:
The objective of this case study is show the change of total entropy when different types of utility
used i.e. LP steam, MP steam and HP steam. The case study has three hot streams and three

Navajo Nation s General Transportation Plan
An Evaluation of the Navajo Nation s General Transportation Plan
If everything in life is very simple and predictable, then we do not need any planning, (Kim).
However, this is not the case today because most developing cities and communities need planning in
order to guide their goals and visions for future land use. A document called a general plan (also
known as a comprehensive plan), helps guide developing cities and communities with a detailed
framework for its land use. The Navajo Nation, one of the largest Indian reservations in the United
States, is an example of a community that utilizes a general plan. In December 2009, the Navajo
Nation submitted the Navajo Nation Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to the Transportation

NTS operates on seven fixed routes connecting small urban areas and also connects with other transit
systems like Greyhound Busline. The use of NTS has increased from 66,000 to 80,000 riders over a
two year period (LRTP II F2). Due to poor road conditions the safety for NTS has become an issue.
The general plans provided background information on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation Road
(IRR) system and this helps to understand how the nation s road network operates. Since the nation
overlaps different boundaries the IRR system administers the various highway programs, these include
tribal, state, county, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and other agency roads. Almost half of the nation
s highways are BIA roads and majority is unpaved. The interesting part of this section is how these
roads are different agency roads but the nation manages to overlook all these roads through the IRR
system.
In conclusion, the transportation system on the Navajo Nation needs vast improvements to benefit its
people. For a general plan, the transportation plan is one of the most important elements for cities and
communities. When planning, it is very important to learn and know the area, city or community. A
city or community will be forever changing and developing. For this reason, a city or community will
need a plan to develop, maintain, and improve its use of

Contingency Management
Although contingency management has yielded impressive short term results, more research is needed
to obtain convincing long term results and evidence that will support the notion that this treatment can
sustain long term beneficial results for those with substance abuse issues. There have been issues with
patient relapse, particularly in the case of smoking addiction and schemes should be developed in
order to combat these relapses and create a more effective intervention programme (Higgins,
Silverman and Heil, 2008). More public knowledge is also needed about contingency management as
an intervention for addiction as it is not as well known as other drug counselling or addiction
treatments/centres. If more knowledge is distributed about reinforcement and contingency methods,

based treatment centres to become quite expensive, it may be less expensive and more cost effective

efforts is a program called Best Process.
When Renault came to benchmark Honda, the differences were stark. Renault had more than thirty
preferred suppliers with guaranteed contracts. A preferred supplier, by definition, has no competition

Should Students Be Allowed To Bring Their Blanket To...
Trinity Hamer

Mrs. Robertson
Dec. 1 2016
Students are losing work time due to being cold. Should students be able to bring their blankets to
school with them? Why or why not? If we allow students to bring their blankets to school with them
then there s going to be less kids stressed out about their work because they ll be content and soothed.
There s going to be less students who will be late to school in the mornings because they won t be
freaking out on what they should wear to match the different temperatures throughout the school.
There is the possibly if we allow students to bring blankets to school that it will get other kids around

The group feels that students shouldn t be able to bring their blankets to school with them because
students around them or themself will become off topic because more kids will be focused on what s
going on with the blankets. This group feels that by allowing blanket use in the classroom, students
would actually get bad grades. With that argument made students who bring their blankets are going to
cause other around them to get bad grades on their assignments because they won t have a clue on
what s going on in class, the kids who have blankets will cause problems for others who are trying to
do what their told. Some feel that the students who bring their blankets will fall asleep due to being
too comfortable during their school hours, causing them to lose out on getting work done and they ll
fall behind the rest of the class. With students becoming more tired because of having their blankets
then they re more likely to get bad grades, fall behind, be confused on what s going on, in class, and
even distract the other students around them who actually want to get their work

Becoming A Father Is A Life Changing Experience
Becoming a father is a life changing experience. Most fathers will remember that one special day for
the rest of their lives, while other fathers say the day their child was born was the day their life as they
knew it was over. After sitting down and interviewing three different fathers who had three very
different experiences before and after child birth my eyes have been opened to the multiple views,
experiences, memories, and feelings these three gentlemen have experienced or will soon experience.
Mr. Snyder who is currently awaiting the birth of his first child in the spring of 2015 was the first man
I interviewed. Mr. Celso is the second man I interviewed. Mr. Celso and his wife experienced a very
emotional and nerve wrecking pregnancy and birth of their two 4 month old twins. Lastly, Mr. Shipley
was the last man I interviewed. Mr. Shipley is a father of a one year old boy. Mr. Shipley s experience
of the birth of his child was much different then the other two gentlemen given that Mr. Shipley and
the mother of his son are not in any type of relationship, nor were they during their child s birth. Each
of these men shared a lot of similarities as well as an abundance of differences regarding their children
and soon to be children.
Fatherhood has rapidly evolved over the years. Before the mother of the child was the most important
player in the game of pregnancy. Now, the fathers have taken on just as big of a role as the mothers
(Fägerskiöld, 2008). One of the

  • 2. A Brief Analysis of Obamacare I would like to approach this assignment, from the point of view of a third person and I am planning to present it in the form of a research paper. The organization of this paper will be as follows: Section 1 will include an introduction of the ObamaCare, along with its facts and also the arguments put forward by the opponents. Section 2 will briefly list some of the opponents (e.g. Republicans) and proponents (e.g. Democrats) of the ObamaCare. The arguments made by the opponents of the Obama Care will be supported by the evidences in section 3, and it will also point out the interest of the opponents that may be served if the ObamadCare is repealed. Conversely, section 4 will talk about the evidences for the arguments put forward by the proponents of the ObamaCare and also their stake, if the Obamacare bill is passed. Lastly, I will present my view on ObamaCare and substantiate it with evidences. BIBLIOGRAPHY References/Resources that I have read: 1. Bodenheimer, Tom and Grumbach, Kevin. Essay On International Law Conclusion Ziad Al Masri Miss Senn CLN4U101 20 December 2016 Russia s Violation of International Law As a result of their current manipulative actions in Crimea, Russia has shown a willful disregard for the Treaty it signed at the Fourth Geneva Convention in 1949, wherein all civilians are entitled to protection from armed conflict between two countries. Geneva Conventions broadly outline the fundamental rights of wartime detainees for all citizens and military personnel, create assurances for the injured and debilitated, and set up insurances for citizens in and around a battle region. In this manner, the Geneva Convention has made rules and guidelines to ensure that all humanity is entitled to basic rights. The Fourth Geneva ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In turn, this would lead to subtle influences by Russia. Russia has demonstrated by its recent actions that it is driven by power and greed. It has shown a willful ignorance of civilian casualties as it has they want what Cremia has to offer. The real question is what does Crimea have that Russia wants that bad that they are breaking the Fourth Geneva Convention for? Well Cremia is very rich in natural oil and gas which they want to help because Russia Siberian energy reserves are dwindling. Cremia is also known for its amazing seaside cliffs and summer mansions which does attract a lot of tourists. Russia has also taken down major water plants which have cut off Ukrainians from water supply. Back in 1947 Joseph Stalin who was the leader of the Soviet Union party signed the Fourth Geneva Convention to ensure a good future for his country and people. Look at what Putin has done he is disrespecting his predecessor who built his country and signed this treaty. Casualties By first attacking and annexing Crimea with stealth powers and after moving into and possessing eastern parts of Ukraine, Putin was sending clear flags to his neighbors that endeavors to democratize, change, and incorporate all the more intimately with Western establishments like the European Union would not be allowed. And yet, he still belonged to a violent world. Tupac Amaru Shakur, or Lesane Parish Crooks, was born in East Harlem NYC June 16, 1971. His mother Afeni Skakur, and his father Billy Garland were active members in the Black Panther Party. Tupac was named after the South American Revolutionary Tupac Amaru. Before he started his music career, Tupac began his career as a roadie back up dancer for the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground, eventually branching off as a solo artist. Most of the themes in Shakur s songs revolved around the violence and hardship in the inner cities, racism, and other issues that involved social things. During the latter part of his career, Shakur was a vocal participant during the East Coast West Coast hip hop rivalry, becoming involved in conflicts with other rappers, producers, and record label staff members. Aside from his career in music, Shakur was also a poet and an actor. All eyez on me was the fourth studio album by Tupac recorded on October 1995, which was released on February 13 1996. Steven Johnson s Emergence In Emergence, Steven Johnson argues that small scale interactions give way to global behaviors first examining ant colonies, and thereafter analyzing human cells, virtual cities, and real cities. Economic models from the 1990s show that, in the absence of confounding variables, businesses will naturally self organize into evenly spaces clusters. I wonder how physical features like lakes, forests, and mountains impact these models. I also wonder how the organizational structure of a city (grid like versus radial) impacts the locational decisions of businesses. She grew up in Austria and later moved to France, causing an outrage since she was an outsider.. Many events were blamed on her which had a huge impact on France. Many opposed her due to her poor leadership skills and lack of interest in the people. Marie Antoinette, along with her husband Louis XVI, came into power at a difficult time. France was in debt and revolutions were rising. Unfortunately, Marie Antoinette lacked the leadership and confidence necessary to rule. The time period of her rule was during the Enlightenment in the late 1700 s. Marie Antoinette was later executed in the guillotine for being found guilty of treason. Marie Antoinette, the queen of France, greatly impacted the history of Western Civilization by her excessive spending, her incompetence to rule, and her flight to Varennes. Donnelly figured out how to manipulate her travel and expense reimbursements to eventually defraud her company of about $275,000. Had her company had proper controls in place for travel and expense reimbursements, wouldn t have occurred to this magnitude. Donnelly was targeted in an internal investigation because she was one of three employees with the highest amounts of travel and expense reimbursements hers totaling, $115,000. For supporting documentation she would alter or photocopy the original receipt and then change amounts of tip or total. These could have either been forged or given to the supervisor who at first glance may not realize that these are fictitious documents. This type of fraud is difficult to prevent but can easily be detected. (Wells, 187 188) Preventing and detecting reimbursement expenses can be very challenging and time consuming for companies. However, in order to prevent these schemes, a company needs to have explicit policies that clearly convey to each and every employee what will and will not be reimbursed. Donnelly was able to defraud her company out of a quarter of a million dollars in a short two year period. In order to prevent these schemes and not use up so much time, Kessler points out that there are tools that could be used to examine and parse such data [which] include IDEA Data Analysis Software, Audit Command Language (ACL), Excel, Access, SQL, SAS generally any ... Tonight would finally be the night. I was ready... right? My tall, soccer player boyfriend laid on his bed in his dimly lit room. The room resembled that of a 12 year old stuffy, unkempt and lacking any sense of maturity. Why clean a room that mom was still there to clean, I figured he thought. I was 16, only days away from turning 17, but when I told this story later on I would say, I was only 16. He was 17. He tells these stories in a way that we can connect to these experiences. We never spent time in Vietnam, but O Brien wants us to feel like we were there. O Brien uses what he calls story truth to write these stories. The outcome or the people may be different but the feeling is real; that s the truth in the story, the feeling. He wants us to feel what he felt, see what he saw. He doesn t just tell us what was happening exactly; he tells a fictional story that conveys the same emotion. He knew that he wasn t in danger but he killed the man anyway because that s what you were supposed to do in war; you were supposed to kill. He wasn t being brave; he was giving into the idea of war. He was doing something that he didn t believe in. The Vietnam War had a life changing effect on the soldiers, including O Brien. They came into the war as boys as young as seventeen and left either in body bags made of their own poncho or they came out alive. But were they ever really alive? No, they had their innocence ripped out. They weren t young boys anymore. Their young selves were killed out in that jungle and all that was left was a carcass of gruesome memories of the tragedy of war, the deaths of their fellow soldiers. They changed as people. O Brien came into the war as a young man against war. A young soul believing that the Vietnam War was wrong and there was no need for fighting or killing. However, toward the end of the book he tells us the story of how he got revenge on a fellow soldier. This soldier, while in the middle of war, took too long in treating O Brien for a bullet wound and also should have treated him for shock. O Brien almost dies on the field but fortunately ... Also the more power a car has is greater the chances of an accident so the cost of the premium will be higher. This way they will give better offers, (usually a smaller premium), than to the more mainstream insurers. If the business has small or medium risk involved, the insurers will usually have the standard rate applied to determine the cost of the premium. The insurer will use this rate to apply a factor that is determined by level of activity taking place in that business. This involves looking at the turnover in public and product liability insurance or the company s employees liability insurance. However, there may be some other factors in the process of the determination of the premium such as historical claims records and experience and risk management procedures. The second reading tied more into the overall significance of the class as it highlights how people are understood in the global and overall context. The first reading, which began by emphasizing that cultural identifiers should be removed when analyzing humans, did not make sense to me. Our personalities are shaped by who we are in society and how we have made a change. If the cultural associations were removed from Alexander the Great, he would no longer be known as the great divine ruler. Furthermore, the Holocausts was not just caused by a man who wanted power, rather a man who did not like a specific culture caused it. Gun Control Now And The Federal Level Gun Control Now Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to where we are now, we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation as it exists now. As legislation varies greatly between states, we ll start by looking at gun control at the federal level. As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, to possess firearms and handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced to 0 and 18 respectively. Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine guns (weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger) manufactured after 1986 (18 U.S. Code § 922). Additionally, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions on certain weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA weapons are not explicitly illegal to possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which includes a much more in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such weapons. Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun ownership. Under the NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which includes such weapons under a total weapon length, not just those with short ... To calculate the price elasticity of demand we would need to know how the quantity demanded changed in response to a change in price keeping all other things constant. In this case other things were not held constant: academic offerings were bolstered with at least three hands on experiences outside the classroom, which created a buzz. This suggests that there was a shift in the demand curve and not just a movement along it. 1.9 Using the midpoint formula, the percentage change in price = ($99 $199/$149) = 67%. Using the midpoint formula, if sales double, then the percentage change in quantity will equal 67%. The price elasticity of demand is 67%/ 67% = 1. Using the midpoint formula, if sales triple, then the percentage change in quantity demanded will equal 100%. In this case, the price elasticity of demand will be 100%/ 67% = 1.49. 1.10 Suppose Ford did

Conflict Theory On Society And Human Behavior Conflict theory is the view that the struggle for power in society and human behavior in social contexts results from conflicts between competing groups (Siegel, 2015, pg.198). Ted Bundy always acted alone in his crimes and was never a part of any group that suffered discrimination or oppression by the government. Dr, Carlisle observed that Bundy was a private person who won t open up and reveal himself to others. He doesn t want to be known by others (Ramsland, 2011, pg. 113). The most Bundy ever did was volunteer during his high school and early college years in local political races. Politics gave me the opportunity to be close to people, he said. • 32. Prejudice In The Swing Era The swing era was vast and equally varietal. From Benny Goodman to Chick Webb or Artie Shaw each had their individual sound . Moreover, this separated them and gave them their own appeal to the masses. However, The swing era occurred at a time when racism and prejudice still had a strong foothold in public eye. While playing swing did allow a member of a minority to have some freedom from this prejudice, they still could not expect the same treatment as the white players. In The Swing Era: Pure Pleasure swing was described as an escape for people who are down on their luck. Moreover, Swing gave people hope and a place to break free and forget about your trouble. This is most likely why swing climbed so aggressively into popular culture. Swing was not just a type of music; it was a lifestyle. The bands that toured lived a breathed swing. Some bands would have to sleep in their bus or car because they could not afford to get a room. They would either sleep in the bus or go out and look for a home that was willing to be shared for the night. Bands would sometimes be fed and sheltered by these families. Teddy Wilson was only allowed to record with Benny Goodman but he was black and Benny thought playing in public with him could hurt his career. The narrator stated the music might be colorblind but the country is not. However, he eventually allowed him to step into the limelight and Benny described that show as one of the bests. Even though racism was heavy swing music still gave the minorities a place to go where they were judged based off the music they played and not their skin color. • 33. Gender Roles Since High School Essay Gender roles resurfaced as a pivotal factor in my life during my late adolescence. In our culture different sports are considered to be male and female dominated respectively. Unfortunately little is done to challenge or resist these societal norms and I experienced this first hand during my senior year of high school. Volleyball, which is considered to be a sport primarily for girls and women, was not offered to boys at my high school. Subsequently, I was forced to petition for approval towards the creation of a male volleyball which ultimately went unsuccessful due to time constraints and unwillingness to help from staff and administration. While this example pertained to male exclusion countless female friends of mine struggled to participate in male dominated sports throughout high school including wrestling and lacrosse. Part of what schools are supposed to be doing under Title IX, and often are not doing, is regularly assessing girls interest, looking to see what sports girls are playing and asking girls what they want to play that is currently not being offered (Wallace). In this instance my districts athletic director directly impacted the sporting experiences for the entire student body by failing to adhere to sufficient standards with respect to gender norms. High school sports presented a unique culture with respect to sport. Trends throughout my high school strongly reinforced dominant ideologies throughout society. • 34. Different Attitudes And Views Among Generations The proposal of each author portrays different attitudes and views among generations, each author discusses a similar idea of why each writer is different. Disregarding the audience each author focuses on, the main purpose is to argue whether writing has changed or remained similar through generation. One author believes that technology influenced writing as opposed to two authors who believe it is within the writer itself (authors interest). There is one author who believes that writing has not refined through generations. Despite the different attitudes towards writing, the authors establish a common talking point about what effects writing and why. Those who fall under the first camp of composing relate writing to self importance. The second camp discusses how different types of support affect the style of writing, while the last camp believes delivery and articulation changes the way an author writes. Most of the authors agree that time has an importance as well as an impact relating to writing. Those who oppose do not believe that writing has changed or at least has not changed because of generations. That is to say that each camp discusses the ideas of that author in order to support their reasoning. The argument raised in this paper is if writing has changed over time. In regards to the first camp Cristina Nehring argues that writing is becoming a figure of time in her article What s wrong with the American essay. • 35. Major Themes In The Old Testament Major Themes: as seen in the Old Testament To better understand the full meaning of this passage it is essential to look to the Old Testament. Throughout Jesus ministry He draws on symbolism from the Old Testament to show His connection to the Father. The passages below are closely connected to Matthew chapter 14. The similarities are important because of the original audience. The apostles would have been Jewish men, which means they knew their Old Testament fairly well. When Jesus makes connections He increases His credibility, and secures His label of Emmanuel. Exodus 3:14; 14:10 15:21 The first thing to note about the book of Exodus is the passage in 3:14. Police Rights Research Paper During a preseason National Football League (NFL) game where the San Francisco 49 ers were visiting the San Diego Chargers (now Los Angeles Chargers), starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick decides to take a knee during the National Anthem. This one act set off a firestorm that has echoed deep in the core of the American conscious. It began to show the differences of this country in a new light. If human differences have their place, so also does divine unity. For those who are in relationship with God, this unity must, because of God s nature, have precedence over diversity, shares Okholm. Rah reference of Dr. Martin Luther King s letter, shows, The deep levels of racism, cultural insensitivity, and cultural incompetence have yielded a deep seated rift between different communities in the United States. Not only have explicit examples of racism generated animosity and mistrust, but implicit approval of racism and a passive inactivity toward injustice have perpetuated the racial divide. The knee goes deeper as this divide happens in America. When the knee goes deeper, what did it say about racial matters? If the justice system had been fair in its assessments of the incidents that happened across America, there would not be a movement of black lives matter. If the justice system would have shown that all lives matter when an officer is negligent with the discharge of their weapons against a twelve year old boy playing with a toy gun in a park, and then found not negligible, all lives did not matter. In the documentary, The Color of Fear, Victor makes a good analogy about the white experience. Victory states, What is the white experience? When I look at you manifesting your white experience, I also see you not naming it. I see you just want to blur the distinction between just being a person and also most particularly being a white person and what that means. Regrettably, Victor s statement shows that people of color are invisible to whites. Not to misunderstand, this is the view from people of color. This shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Oppression Is The Driving Force Behind The Violence Oppression is the driving force behind the violence in Israel. It is based on a land dispute that led to oppression and now the violence seen today. Israel is plagued with a cycle of violence and fear. There are many factors behind the climate of terror that is taking place in Israel, but none as significant as oppression. The establishment of Israel by Jews led to many changes for Palestinian Arabs, who were already living in the area. Many of these changes were oppressive and intrusive to the Palestinian Arabs way of life. As can be expected, wherever there is oppression, violence and fear normally follow. Both sides have suffered losses amidst this violence. Jews claim they fled to Palestine to avoid persecution and that establishing Israel as a Jewish state would be the only way to ensure their safety. Yet their safety, and now the safety of Palestinian Arabs, are both unsure. In the late 1800 s, Jews across Europe began fleeing to Palestine to avoid anti Semitism and persecution. During this era, there was a movement known as the Zionist; the Zionists wanted to return to the Jewish Holy Land to establish a Jewish state that would serve as a sanctuary for Jews. However, according to the State of Israel Proclaimed (State), at this time the Zionist leadership was unable to persuade the Ottoman Empire to grant them a charter. The following decades would see sporadic migration of Jews into Palestine. World War I brought about more change in Palestine, including ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Minimizing the total entropy produced by heat exchanger network lead to minimizing the use of high energy quality. The entropy can define for single heat exchanger i.e. exchange heat of one hot stream with one cold stream as S=∮▒dS=∫▒dq/T S=∫_(T_Hi)^(T_Ho)▒(C_H dT_H)/T_H ∫_(T_Ci)^(T_Co)▒(C_C dT_C)/T_C 〖S=C〗_C ln⁡ 〖(T_Co/T_Ci 〗) C_H ln⁡ 〖(T_Hi/T_Hi 〗) Sets of heat exchanger network will have constant total entropy when they use same type and amount of utilities. On the other hand, the entropy will vary for networks having different types and amount of utilities. The networks entropy that is used high energy qualities is higher than the one that used low energy qualities. The changes come from using high energy qualities, and this lead to have higher temperature different in some heat exchangers, hence high entropy. Due to that, the total area of the networks also will vary with the use of different utilities since total area is in related with temperature different in heat exchanger. As the temperature different increase the area will decrease. Furthermore, total entropy can be used as objected furcation in mathematical programing. Total entropy can help to find total energy required with from each energy levels in small code. • 39. Navajo Nation s General Transportation Plan An Evaluation of the Navajo Nation s General Transportation Plan If everything in life is very simple and predictable, then we do not need any planning, (Kim). However, this is not the case today because most developing cities and communities need planning in order to guide their goals and visions for future land use. A document called a general plan (also known as a comprehensive plan), helps guide developing cities and communities with a detailed framework for its land use. The Navajo Nation, one of the largest Indian reservations in the United States, is an example of a community that utilizes a general plan. In December 2009, the Navajo Nation submitted the Navajo Nation Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to the Transportation Planning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... NTS operates on seven fixed routes connecting small urban areas and also connects with other transit systems like Greyhound Busline. The use of NTS has increased from 66,000 to 80,000 riders over a two year period (LRTP II F2). Due to poor road conditions the safety for NTS has become an issue. The general plans provided background information on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation Road (IRR) system and this helps to understand how the nation s road network operates. Since the nation overlaps different boundaries the IRR system administers the various highway programs, these include tribal, state, county, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and other agency roads. Almost half of the nation s highways are BIA roads and majority is unpaved. The interesting part of this section is how these roads are different agency roads but the nation manages to overlook all these roads through the IRR system. In conclusion, the transportation system on the Navajo Nation needs vast improvements to benefit its people. For a general plan, the transportation plan is one of the most important elements for cities and communities. When planning, it is very important to learn and know the area, city or community. A city or community will be forever changing and developing. For this reason, a city or community will need a plan to develop, maintain, and improve its use of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Contingency Management Although contingency management has yielded impressive short term results, more research is needed to obtain convincing long term results and evidence that will support the notion that this treatment can sustain long term beneficial results for those with substance abuse issues. There have been issues with patient relapse, particularly in the case of smoking addiction and schemes should be developed in order to combat these relapses and create a more effective intervention programme (Higgins, Silverman and Heil, 2008). More public knowledge is also needed about contingency management as an intervention for addiction as it is not as well known as other drug counselling or addiction treatments/centres. If more knowledge is distributed about reinforcement and contingency methods, more substance users may come forward for treatment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An option for clinics is to provide not just money and voucher reinforcements but also other rewards such as lunches out, employment or take home doses of methadone (Petry, 2002). Although there is potential for contingency management based treatment centres to become quite expensive, it may be less expensive and more cost effective than other treatments associated with drug use, for example a stay at the emergency centre in hospital or inpatient stays in hospitals and clinics. In the long run, contingency management treatment centres may greatly reduce the cost of addiction treatment. Furthermore, if these centres become more prevalent and possibly the dominant method of treating addiction and substance abuse, the number of addicts and abusers could greatly decrease further decreasing the cost of treating ... Most fathers will remember that one special day for the rest of their lives, while other fathers say the day their child was born was the day their life as they knew it was over. After sitting down and interviewing three different fathers who had three very different experiences before and after child birth my eyes have been opened to the multiple views, experiences, memories, and feelings these three gentlemen have experienced or will soon experience. Mr. Snyder who is currently awaiting the birth of his first child in the spring of 2015 was the first man I interviewed. Mr. Celso is the second man I interviewed. Mr. Celso and his wife experienced a very emotional and nerve wrecking pregnancy and birth of their two 4 month old twins. Lastly, Mr. Shipley was the last man I interviewed. Mr. Shipley is a father of a one year old boy. Mr. Shipley s experience of the birth of his child was much different then the other two gentlemen given that Mr. Shipley and the mother of his son are not in any type of relationship, nor were they during their child s birth. Each of these men shared a lot of similarities as well as an abundance of differences regarding their children and soon to be children. Fatherhood has rapidly evolved over the years.
