The Unexamined Life Is A Life Not Worth Living
What is happiness, and how can one achieve true happiness? This is the ultimate question of life and
what every person is seeking an answer to. Many feel that they have found their answer in belonging
to the faith of their choice, but what is it that their faith teaches them that brings them happiness? The
Philosophers Socrates, Plato and Aristotle all have a similar view on what happiness is and how to
achieve it. Aristotle s view is based on Plato s and Plato s is based on Socrates teachings; this is why
they are similar but they are all important and different with each philosopher s personal views and
beliefs.
Socrates was a great man who was assassinated for his beliefs on the purpose of life and how to live
happily. He presented the excellence of function to determine how a person will truly be happiest. The
true person is not what he is on the out side but what his psyche or soul is and when that is functioning
well the person is happiest. Psyche is the human capacity for reflective thinking and also the
consciousness of the soul. The unexamined life is a life not worth living. This is a quote from Socrates
that supports his views on psyche. It states that when a person does not examine his life to find his true
self, or excellence of function, that they are ignoring their true self and that a false life is not worth the
time to live it. So an examined life will find its true self or what its function is and want to perform its
function well.

performance without error. List three types of errors that can arise in financial reporting.
Three types of potential errors in financial reporting include: 1. error introduced by rigidity in

3. systematic reporting choices made by corporate managers to achieve specific objectives.
Accounting Rules. Uniform accounting standards may introduce errors because they restrict
management discretion of accounting choice, limiting the opportunity for managers superior
knowledge to be represented through accounting choice. For example, SFAS No. 2 requires firms to
expense all research and development expenditures when they are occurred. Note that some research
expenditures have future economic value (thus, to be capitalized) while others do not (thus, to be
expensed). SFAS No. 2 does not allow managers, who know the firm better than outsiders, to
distinguish between the two types of expenditures. Uniform accounting rules may restrict managers
discretion, forgo the opportunity to portray the economic reality of firm better and, thus, result in
errors. Forecast Errors. Random

How Technology Has Improved With Better Mobility And More...
As the technology developed and matured, hand held devices have been significantly improved with
better mobility and more functions: when I was young, my father used to have a mobile cell phone
which was very heavy its weight was over 1 lb., which was at least three times heavier than the newest
iPhone. Also, besides the basic phone calling function, many new communication applications text
messaging, social networks including Facebook and Instagram, and online video chat tools like Skype
are integrated with the mobile devices. From using a simple handy phone to a well functioned smart
phone, my communication style had also changed a lot. The first hand held mobile device for
communication is a personal handy phone which is named Xiao Ling Tong in China. I received that in
2008 when I was in middle school. The device itself looks like a mini mobile phone, but its functions
were limited to phone calling, text messaging and some simple games. Also, it did not have an
individual phone number it was connected with the fixed line telephone and they share the same
phone number. At that time, the way I was using my handy phone was to contact my parents through
phone calling when I went out. I did not use that to communicate with my friends or classmates
frequently as most of them did not own mobile devices. However, it was not as convenient as a true
smart phone: it did not have roaming service, which meant that it could only be used locally. In 2010,

Dichotomy In Beowulf
The definition of dichotomy is the division or contrast between two things that are or are being
represented as being entirely different. In the story Beowulf many dichotomy s are illustrated
throughout the story. Some examples of dichotomy that happened in beowulf were youth and his
battles. For Beowulf youth is show through his characteristics as a warrior. He shows great features as
a warrior, with his power, strength and courage. Beowulf also shows he inherits the manners and
values of the Germanic Heroic code, which he is characterized with loyalty, courtesy, and pride.
Another dichotomy that happened in the story was his battles. In the story Beowulf, he goes fights
three different battles against different people. In these three major

The American Dream Analysis
Even though Dexter has had a privileged life, his point of view in the story represents the common
man working towards an American Dream. His view of the world is often rose colored and does not
see the world for what it truly is until his dream is ripped from his hands. This effects the text because
at first the reader lives in his shoes as Dexter blissfully allows himself to be seduced by his American
Dream, Judy Jones. Fitzgerald writes, I don t know what s the matter with me. Last night I thought I
was in love with a man and to night I think I m in love with you it seemed to him a beautiful and
romantic thing to say. It was the exquisite excitability that for the moment he controlled and owned.
But a week later he was compelled to view this same quality in a different light. She took him in her
roadster to a picnic supper, and after supper she disappeared, likewise in her roadster, with another
man, (5). In the moment, he allows himself to believe that she is in love with him. After all, if a
beautiful girl who has a history of tempting men tells him she loves him, it must be true. As the text is
told from Dexter s point of view, the reader sees his foggy motivation and drive to keep chasing after
Judy. The only thing that matters is whether or not she is with him, despite words she says may seem
rude or unfaithful to anyone outside of his point of view. Even though Fitzgerald does not write the
story in first person, he makes a great point of letting the

Essay on Love and Spoon River Anthology
Love Hurts With divorce rates of today being at an all time high, people say that marriage has lost its
value. It is also said that it is rare to find a happy relationship. Edgar Lee Masters seemed to believe
the same about the romantic relationships of his time, as well. Masters conveys theses feelings through
some of the characters of his work, Spoon River Anthology. Edgar Lee Masters uses unhappy
marriages as a common factor in the deaths of many of the characters including Margaret Fuller Slack,
Amanda Barker and Tom Merritt in order to reveal his own discontent toward romantic relationships.
First, Margaret Fuller Slack s loveless relationship with her husband is a main factor in her death. In
the poem, Margaret Fuller Slack, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is one way that Masters displays his discontent toward romantic relationships. Also, Masters uses
Amanda Barker s loveless and hateful relationship with her husband Henry as the cause of her death.
In the poem Amanda Barker, the character tells of how she died at a young age at the fault of her
husband. Masters wrote: HENRY got me with child, /Knowing that I could not bring forth life
/Without losing my own. Here, the character, Amanda Barker, retells of how her husband, Henry,
killed her. He was fully aware that she could not have a child without losing her own life, yet he
impregnates her anyway. She also tells of how the townspeople believed that her husband loved her,
but this was not the truth. Masters wrote: ...it is believed in the village where I lived /That Henry loved
me with a husband s love /But I proclaim from the dust /That he slew me to gratify his hatred. If it
where not for her relationship with Henry, she would not have died young. This, once again, shows
Edgar Lee Masters feelings about marriage. By often using marriage and relationships as an important
factor in the death of many of his characters, Lee confirms his doubt in them. Finally, Tom Merritt s
death had occurred because of his wife s romantic relationship with a lover. The poems, Tom Merritt,
Mrs. Merritt, and Elmer Karr tell the story of a married woman s affair with a young man who, in the
end, kills her husband. From the husband Tom s

The Growing Importance Of Ethical Business Managers
The Growing Importance of Ethical Business Managers
Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) describe that the need for ethical business managers and practices has
never been greater. Recent financial scandals have exposed issues in the management decision making
process, suggesting a need to develop the necessary analytical and empathetic qualities so future
corporate leaders may be moral managers (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). This recent pattern of
business misconduct (Michaelson, 2015) and single minded pursuit of profit has made the promotion
of ethical values a key concern for modern business organizations (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010).
This paper will discuss how literary fiction (i.e. novels, literature, narrative, fiction, drama, comics)
can help organizations develop ethical managers by discussing (1) the growing importance of ethical
business managers (2) the benefits of a novel approach to business ethics, and (3) the moral value of
literary fiction to business.
During the past few years, many companies have seen their reputations plummet in the wake of
various corporate scandals (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). With this context of an amoral and inept
set of global management practices, Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) propose the need for a new breed
of manager, namely the moral manager. While Eastwood describes that leadership is an essentially
moral act, he elaborates that there is a disconnection between this notion and the behavior of some

Behavior Change Reflection
I thoroughly enjoyed the behavior change program. I started this program thinking one way about
yoga and left with a completely different point of view. I now have a new work out that I love doing
and will continue to do well into the future. For my weekly goals, I did meet them most weeks
however, there were some weeks where I felt I did not reach the goal I set for myself. That was to be
expected so it never derailed my motivation when I came up short on my goals. I did meet all of my
long term goal. In the end I gained more flexibility while still improving my strength and maintain my
body composition. I also found a workout that I enjoy doing which distresses and relaxes me.
The only change that needs to be made to continue my progress is that I need to devote more time to
working on my flexibility, even more than I already do. Whenever I have free time I should spend 15
20 minutes working on my flexibility so that I can eventually get to where I want to be. Before, once I
finished my yoga workouts for the week is was sometimes hard to find the motivation to work on my
flexibility during my down time. That is now something I would like to change.

Living through the sixties, McLean was able to express what he witnessed and how he felt. Death was
one of his major themes in his song. The deaths of three famous singers was a major let down in the
music world. It raised many questions as to who was going to take over the spotlight, and how music
will forever change. Change also played a significant role in McLean s song. Society at the time was
going through many changes that would form the United States into what it is today. Dealing with the
many notable deaths and the many changes going on in society, the people seemed to have too much
to handle and ultimately the breakdown of society began. McLean who was also dealing with the
struggles of the 60 s was able to find a safe haven with God. He used his strong faith to overcome the
struggles. Overall Don McLean put a lot of time and effort into his song American Pie . He took the
time and put together meaningful lyrics that became one of the most famous songs in history. Works

The Psychology Of An Adolescence Essay
It is apparent that children are taking in music from numerous sources in their everyday lives. The
psychology of an adolescence gives a unique look on how certain stimuli, such as music, can affect
the way they think, and more importantly, act. The first place to look would be the brain, looking into
what makes up these processes. The teenage brain is an ever changing organ, that it constantly
molding to stimuli that affect it on a daily basis. This stimulus includes music, which has similar
effects, as would food, drugs, and sex (Kassem, 2014). In the vast majority of individuals, listening
and even participating in music can affect both behavior and emotions. Overall, there a four sections
of the brain that are affected by music, the first being the auditory cortex. This portion is located on
both sides of the brain, slightly above the ears. Its main function is to interpret the sounds that are
coming through and analyze the volume, pitch, speed, melody and rhythm (Kassem, 2014). The
second portion is the Cerebrum, the largest section of the brain that is located at the top of the head. A
few regions in the cerebrum have different functions in the ability to interpret music. The inferior
frontal gyrus is responsible for remembering music lyrics and sounds through being either heard or
sung. The second region of the cerebrum is the dorsolateral frontal cortex. This region is stimulated
when hearing music or sounds, which allow it to bring up images that are associated,

An approach of Energy Efficient and secure data transfer...
An Ad hoc network is a wireless network. It uses high frequency radio waves for nodes or device
communications which increase mobility but decrease the ranges rather than using communication
cables between the nodes. Ad hoc network consists of no infrastructure and no fixed base station and
centralized administrator. So, each node in this network act as router or host for direct communication
with each other. Then nodes are freely move from one place to another place and it forms the own
topology themself. And each nodes are powered by batteries with a limited energy, wherein each node
stops functioning when batteries get sanitations. For energy efficient and maximize lifetime of nodes
we introduce techniques aimed to minimize power consumption of all nodes by using multicast
routing protocol. Multicast routing protocol is independent of unicast routing protocol. Multicast
source node or root node will transmit packets or data to number of receivers node in the network. The
source node first time broadcast the message and second time it unicast the packet to destination.
Before transmitting packets to all receiver nodes the source node first identifies the multicast group
nodes in that network. So we introduce techniques to identify the neighbor nodes for multicast group
using distance of each node.
2.1 Identification of neighbor node: Multicast routing protocol consists of unremitting sending the
message from source to multiple destinations. It is used in ad hoc

Differences Between Achilles And Achilles
In his book, The Encyclopedia of Greek and Roman Mythology, Roman states that,
The Greek concept of the hero was not based on a calculation of the warrior s social utility and
helpfulness in straightforward terms; rather a hero s greatness is defined by how extraordinary he is,
how far he transcends the lives of ordinary mortals (2010:8).
This essay will compare the greatest hero of the Trojan War, Achilles with the strongest hero of
Ancient Greece, Herakles. It will also discuss how they compare to their modern day representations
in cartoons, movies and pop culture.
These two very well known heroes of Ancient Greek mythology were both born from one mortal and
one immortal parent. While their bravery, battle skills and strength have earned them a place in the
history books there are also some differences between these heroes. Achilles, the protagonist of Homer
s epic, the Iliad, was the son of Peleus, a mortal king and Thetis, a sea nymph and daughter of Neseus
(Roman 2010:7). One version of the story describes Achilles as the only surviving child of this
marriage, after Thetis had murder six of her children by burning them (Pinsent 1983:114). A later
version states that his mother tried to protect him when he was born by dipping him in the river Styx

was ordered to perform the famous Twelve Labours in order to purify himself (Roman 2010:210).
This would also later ensure his immortality however. These would not be the last tasks he would have
to complete in penance for his anger and impulsive

The Problem Of Human Development
Experts have spent centuries attempting to obtain the secrets of human development and identify the
exact science behind it. Experts have not been able to discover any exact influences of normal human
development, nor have they been able to uncover the exact causes of developmental abnormalities
(Disabilities). What they have found can seem quite confusing and has caused much debate among
those trying to tackle the answer to the question. Is ones developmental trajectory determined by the
highness of their genetics or what they experience from the environment to which they are raised?
Because of the spectrum of disciplines that this subject crosses the weight of unanswered questions far
exceeds the amount of answers questions and most of those answers lead to more questions. As
confusing, frustrating, and interminable as all this may seem, the complexities have not discouraged,
instead have encouraged further exploration into the subject.
It has long been established that without development human survival. Development is essential for
the continuance and sequentially survival of every species, including but not limited to, the human
species. Equally as mystifying, are the differentiations of development from one human to another.
How is it that one human develop more effectively than another? If development is essential to the
survival of the human race why do some not develop enough skill to survive on their own? Charles
Darwin believed that one human having abilities

ames Berry is a black Jamaican poet who settled in England in the 1940 s. Berry is known for using
both english and jamaican patois. Berry s writing sometimes explores the relationship between black
and white communities, in particular the excitement and troubles in the coming relationship of the

It is further enhance by Berry s use of symbolism that enters the short story right at the beginning.
Symbolism represents something greater than itself. A symbol can represent and mean anything to
anyone. Someone could have a different meaning to a certain symbol then you. To the readers the
mouth organ is just a piece of plastic and the mouth organ boys are just another group. It s not easy for
delroy to fit in with these boys or anyone else because he is different and not like them. When he is
not accepted into the group right away he that realizes he has to work to get into the group. So like any
other person would do to get accepted into the group, he asked his mom at first to buy it for him and
this is what he says he All the other boys have a mouth organ. Mam () This states that the mouth organ
is is more to delroy then just a piece of metal. It represents more to delory to be a part of the mouth
organ boys. This symbolizes Delory fitting in with the mouth organ boys, finding a place where he can
have fun and be a part of something. Its way more to Delroy then a stupid group or stupid instrument.
The boys don t treat Delroy with a lot of respect, they always bring him down because he doesn t own

The Heroic Nora Helmer in Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House What does it mean to be a hero? According
to Webster, a hero is someone of great strength [and] courage who is admired for his or her courage
and nobility. 1 Stretching this definition a bit further, I would argue that a hero is someone who uses
this strength, courage, and nobility to help or save others. Nora Helmer, in Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s
House, leaves her husband and family at the end of the play a move that can be viewed as either very
selfish or very heroic. Because Nora uses her strength and courage in effort to save others and herself
from the false doll s house life they are living in, her final act of leaving home is truly heroic. Nora

same scene, Nora plays hide and seek, laughing and shrieking, with her kids (23). As the argument
that Nora is being selfish states, she is her children s playmate. Yet, shouldn t a mother be more than
just a fellow playmate? A mother has a responsibility to teach and train her children, not just play with
them. This scene is the only time we see direct interaction between Nora and her kids; it suggests that

The Issue Around Internet Privacy
In more recent years, the issue around Internet privacy is something that has been brought to everyone
s attention. In today s society everything is based around social media and online shopping. By doing
this people are making their information easily accessible for people to use. People document their
whole lives on social media making it much easier for people to find information, that some may
consider private, about them. When people post a picture with a location attached to it they think it s
harmless but there is a lack of privacy that is allowing people to get hold of information they don t
want out there. It has become much easier for people to get information due to the new technological
advances that have been made in the recent years. Companies try to advertise to their customers
through the Internet. They do this by personalizing their webpage to what they search, which violates
privacy because they are tracking what customers search through cookies and data. Something as
harmless as searching for baby clothes for your niece or nephew can turn in to your information being
thrown out there and having these companies trying to reach you. Violation of privacy on the Internet
is something we should accept because no matter what we try to do to keep our privacy people will
always find a way around it. Stealing credit card information is as easy as bumping into someone.
There are multiple ways people can defeat personal privacy and it is done through the use of

Homeostasis Examples
Define homeostasis, give three examples , and explain the principle of negative feedback and how this

Homoeostasis is the maintenance of relatively stable internal conditions despite continuous changes in
environment. Some examples of homeostasis is regulation of blood pH, body temperature, and
concentration of sugar. A negative feedback system is when the actions of the effectors weakens the
stimuli. Most of homeostatic mechanisms are negative feedback. Negative feeback is a big
contribution and factor in homeostasis.

How Did The French Conquer Indochina
Not intending to conquer Indochina all at once, the French aimed to convert the Vietnamese to
Catholicism, establish a strategic presence in Southeast Asia, and secure products such as rice, coffee,
and rubber. The French progressively increased their control over Indochina (Vietnam, Cambodia, and
Laos) over a prolonged duration of time, more than 350 years. Welcomed into Indochina for their
specialized skills and their association to European suppliers of western merchandise and weapons,
the Europeans started taking advantage. The French East India Company, a commercial enterprise,
obtained sufficient traction in Indochina in 1688. Therefore a system was formed which carried on for

There was little organized resistance to the French, and what there was was scattered, because of the

post war French government was unstable. After the French tried to stop the Viet Minh resistance in

How Magic Plays in the Real World with St. Thomas Aquinas ...
St. Thomas Aquinas was a Dominican professor that began teaching at the University of Paris in the
year 1256, in theology. His works in the field of theology were greatly influenced by Aristotle as well
as Plato. His main goal in the section of his writing, Summa Contra Gentiles, was to explain how
magic was portrayed in the natural world . He was trying to show non Christians, especially Muslims,
how Catholic beliefs could be rationalized. All the documents of St. Aquinas s that were paired
together in the section of the book by the editors were detailed works that were seen as controversial
back when they were first published. One of the works in this section, titled Commentary on the Four

Based off of Aquinas work, Summa Contra Gentiles, one would assume that he did believe in magic,
although he did not come outright and say it. Nevertheless, he informed his readers that magicians
performed their magic not just through God and heavenly ways, but also through celestial ways. They
may not have performed their magic with just God s powers help, yet they would not have been able
to perform with only celestial ways either, they came together hand in hand. However, he explained
that magic that came from the heavenly bodies was natural magic. Therefore, anything that could not
be considered natural could not have come from heaven or God. He also went into greater detail
explaining that an inanimate object could not possibly move by itself through the powers of God or
heavenly forces. Aquinas did not speak about witches, however, his brief mention of pacts having
been a necessity to speak to a demon later brought up the issue of magicians, and even later the issue
of witches signing pacts. Throughout this work of his, he spoke only of magicians and their way of
performing magic. In order to perform their magic, he explained that they were to speak certain words
to receive the outcomes they desired. The words did not hold the power, the magician himself did. To
build upon this, very powerful magicians were able to produce what they desired simply through
thought. If someone was able to make what they wanted to happen with words

The City Of New York
The City of New York s population is just under 8,500,000. It is one of the most populated and
crowded cities in the United States, so obviously this would be one of the last place someone would
want to be lost. Being in such a huge city is already genuinely overwhelming for someone from South
Dakota. As a family, we had already been to Chicago, a larger city. We thought we would have a pretty
good handle on how to navigate through so many people. As it turns out, we were much too confident
for our own good.
My brother Adam lives in New York as a doctor with his wife Cydney. My parents thought it would be
good for me to have one last adventure before I went off to college the next fall, so what better place
to go than New York? I was so excited to go, since all of my friends had already gone. They told me
what a wonderful and magical time they had there. I had been planning outfits for months. To be
honest, I was almost to the point of obsession with the idea of New York. It was the city. But after
finally sorting through my clothes and picking out only what I absolutely needed, we packed enough
to last us the entire week. Of course we had to be careful not to bring too much, so they do not charge

A leader should be able to inspire those around them. If someone is inspired and motivated to do

good they are and what they can become. If someone has a goal to work towards they are more likely
to improve. I will help inspire the players in my section so we can become the best we can be.
Communication is also a key skill to being a leader. If the leader and the people around them aren t
able to communicate then nothing will get done. I have learned in the past that not communicating can
lead to the downfall to a piece or group. If a member of the section isn t aware that they are playing
something wrong it will never be fixed. As a leader I will be able to help others improve and
communicate with them what they can do in the future to prevent the same mistake from happening.
I am able to learn music fast and will use that advantage to help others with their parts. To be able to
help them, I will make sure I understand how all of the parts fit together and tell them how they can

Samba De Coco Analysis
Focusing on the study of Samba de Coco (a Brazilian folkloric dance originally from the northern
region), Ethnographer Daniel Sharp analyses throughout his book two musical groups of the twenty
first century. Mr. Sharp decided to closely analyze them both was because they were directly related to
the reawaking process after a political transition from a military regime to democratic. Both groups
are from the city of Arcoverde, a small city in the backlands of the state of Pernambuco (Northeast of
Brazil). Coco Raízes incorporates some African characteristics in its, while Cordel do Fogo Encantado
has a more aggressive and cosmopolitan style adding multiple musical genres within. After the post

Thus, the group quickly became well known in Brazil for its musical fragmentation gathering multiple
musical genres. After several TV appearances, the media started paying close attention to the
economic situation in Arcoverde, a situation that could take years to be fixed due to the change of
political regime. Indeed, their apocalyptic musical style criticizing poverty, violence, and drought was
a fragmented and declamatory way of seeing the future through the lens of the past, in other words,
they incorporated national and regional themes within the negative aesthetics of Death Metal (Sharp
2014). Sharp, then, explained that Coco Raíz had two ironic representation: one is the mud hut replica
used as a museum; this iconic representation was built after Lula Calixto s death (founder of the group
Coco Raiz), Lula died of Chagas disease, a disease generalized at the time due to the mud hut houses
as it is a propitious place for the procreation of the triatomine bug. Another ironic observation made
by Sharp is seeing Coco Raízes working to spread their afro Brazilian musical form and making it
predominant in a white and mestiço interior backlands. Coco Ráizes was using the past to argue in
present trying to create a better future. The author does not go into translation details sometimes,
therefore it becomes difficult to understand what he is trying to say. Another critic in this book would
be Sharp s methodology, he did not want to learn how to play Samba de Coco, instead he wanted to
analyze the two groups as a journalist, for he felt that asking too much for musical instructions would
somehow affect his relationship with the musicians. Nevertheless, having a practicing experience, not

Abstract
Prostate Cancer is a disease in which there is an uncontrolled growth of cells that lines the ducts of the

Symptoms
There are many symptoms that can cause suspicion of Prostate Cancer. While very few men show no
signs or symptoms of this cancer many men show signs in their urine. ( Prostate Cancer ) Frequent
urination, the frequent use of the bathroom, is one of the most common signs of Prostate Cancer.
During the night a male that possibly has this cancer uses the bathroom 6 to 7 times. ( Fact Sheet )
Other symptoms may include blood in the urine or semen, delayed or slowed start of urinary stream
and dribbling or leakage of urine. Bone pain or tenderness, along with pain in bowel movements, can
also be a major symptom, but not as common. ( Prostate Cancer ) Although these are symptoms of
Prostate Cancer, they can also be signs of other diseases and is recommended to see a doctor for
diagnostic testing.
Diagnosis
There are multiple methods for screening for Prostate Cancer; the most common is Digital Rectal
Examination. During a digital rectal exam a doctor inserts a glove, lubricated finger into the rectum to
feel for any irregular or abnormal firm area in the prostate gland.
Another method to detect this cancer is with a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA). Protein in the blood
that is produced only by prostate cells is reflected the volume of both benign and malignant prostate
tissue in the PSA. The higher the PSA level is the more likely it is that Prostate Cancer present. (

The Battle Between Protecting Fine Art And Commercial Art
Exam #: 27676
There has been constant debate revolving around the distinction between a painting, and a mural. In
this case, a mural is a painting or other work of art executed directly on a wall. (Merriam Webster
Dictionary). In Pollara v. Seymour, the banner displayed inside the empire state plaza, was classified
as an advertisement and promotional work, rather than a work of art. However, why did congress
exclude certain works of art from being protected? The battle between protecting fine art and
commercial art has been an issue. The governing rule of society place a higher standard on fine art,

In this case, a mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other large
permanent surface. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements
of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture. (Merriam Webster Dictionary).
Here, copyright law and state laws were the only legal protection that many artists relied upon. The
shift from moderate state laws to the federal policies of VARA created a tremendous impact on artists
protection. The Visual Artists Rights Act expanded the protection of the artists work, but also
recognized the artists work as property. Property ownership is tremendously important because it
gives the artists the power to have full control over the work of art they created. Congress passed the
Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 to protect the property or work of the artists . The general rule
governing our society is that the producer has dominion over property they originally created.
According to the facts, Diego s mural is clearly an original work he painted that incorporates outside
elements. However, do these outside elements play a substantial factor in determining whether Diego s
mural is considered a work of visual art, and should be protected under VARA? To make this
determination, a more in depth analysis of legal precedent, and the rule of law under VARA must be
taken in to consideration.
The singleness of the work,

Taking a Look at Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common type of carcinoma and the second leading cause of cancer death in
men, following carcinoma of the lung. The risk of developing prostate cancer increases with age,
beginning at age 50, and is also higher among African American men. The two highest age
subpopulations diagnosed are men 55 64 and 65 74 years of age, comprising 29.0% and 35.6% of all
prostate cancer diagnoses, respectively. The age adjusted incidence rate of prostate cancer is 159.3 per
100,000 men per year2. By race, black men have the highest incidence rate of this disease with an
incidence rate of 239.8 per 100,000 men, while Hispanic men have the lowest with a rate of 133.4 per
100,000 men. The death rate of African Americans is more than double that of any other race with a
mortality rate of 56 per 100,000 men2. Recent data indicates that cancer develops in 30% of black
men ages 50 59 and in 39% of black men 60 692. This is in contrast to 8% of black men developing it
between the ages of 40 and 49. Similar data has been shown for men with a family history . The age
adjusted death rate from prostate cancer has fortunately decreased by 3.4% between 2001 and 2006
and the lifetime risk of developing prostate cancer is 15.9% for American men (i.e. 1 in every 6 men)

One does not discover the absurd without being tempted to write a manual of happiness (Camus).
These words help to explain why Sisyphus is happy while he pushes his rock up his mountain and
then runs after it after it rolls down again. Through performing the same absurd act repeatedly he
discovers what kind of happiness there is the act. After pushing the rock up the mountain so many
times he begins to single out the aspects of the action that make him feel happy, and pays no attention
to anything else. In this sense, he has created taken the punishment that was given to him and made it

Continuing The Greater Co Prosperity Sphere Through Oil...
Continuing the Greater Co Prosperity Sphere Through Oil Independence
1. Addressing the Problem:
Due to the Japanese presence in China during the late 1930s and early 1940s, the United States
embargoed oil exports to Japan as a punishment for interfering with the open trade policy in China.
This embargo was detrimental to the Japanese supply because Japan depended on the US for 80% of
its imported oil. The Japanese also had no significant natural sources of oil in its possession.
Therefore, the oil problem became a crisis as military demands quickly drained Japanese stockpiles.
The Japanese needed to find oil to support its larger dream of establishing the Greater Co Prosperity
Sphere (GCPS).
The reference point of the Japanese decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, Japanese leadership overwhelmingly agreed that the first choice was incompatible with
GCPS and was therefore not a choice to consider.
2. The Alternative Approach:
A more effective approach would have been to appease the Americans in the short term, while
additionally searching for and quickly mobilizing other sources of oil in order to reduce dependence
on the US. This two step approach would have been more effective in pursuing the Japanese s GCPS
because the short term setback would have allowed for the long term survival of Japan s plan to
become a regional great power. By taking the admittedly high risk route of attacking Pearl Harbor, the
Japanese significantly constricted the GCPS s chances of survival. In order to obtain vital amounts of
oil for the continuation of Japanese military power, appeasing the Americans by letting go of China
for the time being would have allowed the GCPS to survive another day and to continue once the
country had obtained its own independent source of oil.
a. Appeasing the Americans and Receiving Oil Diplomatically
The appeasement of the Americans would have been feasible with some flexibility and long term
thinking. Appeasement of the Americans would have required the Japanese to abandon all, or at least
half, of China, according to Matsuoka Yosuke, an aggressive pro expansionist advisor who was the
leading advocate for the

Web Analytics Tools And The Intelligent Resource
In many companies, regardless of their size, web analytics has been the answer to numerous questions.
Through its utilization, managers have a grasp of the website, visitors and their behavior so they can
be informed of what s working and what is not. For this reason, Web analytics, to a certain extent, can
drive business results. Along with its increasing popularity, there have been arguments over what
should be the ratio for investment on the tools and the intelligent resource. It goes without saying that
web analytics tools are valuable in gathering data across all the pages in a website and reporting it in

Second, most web analytics tools tend to provide a massive amount of data, but they fail to produce a

Data is important to any business, but it is of no value to the manager if all the work only involves

How is the audience positioned to see Gordon Gekko in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps?
The film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps follows the story of Jacob Moore, his partner Winnie
Gekko, and her estranged father Gordon Gekko. Director Oliver Stone uses not only characterisation
but also film techniques and symbolism to position the audience to see a certain character. The film is
set in New York in the year 2008 and is set out so it will connect with the audience of today. The
storyline of the film is based around Gordon Gekko, his family and his criminal history. Gekko is a
stock broker who had previously been sent to prison for eight years after being accused of securities
fraud and insider trading. Seven years later he releases a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to see Gordon Gekko as a wealthy and very powerful character but also a character with the desire to
change who he is to have a positive future. When Gordon is talking to Jacob and the university
students he is seen to be very powerful and a strong character but when Winnie is talking to Gordon

Reflective Piece: Project: Babylon, magnum
Challenges
One of the biggest problems I had when trying to write this, was to try and keep it completely original,
instead of trying to make it just another zombie apocalypse style story. By the end, it seemed pretty
much the exact same as much of the other kinds of stories. Another big problem had been from when I
would try to write down ideas before I forgot them and had wound up causing quite a few spelling
problems, which I wasn t able to fix. That was a smaller problem; I always have a habit of trying to go
back and fixing any kinds of spelling mistakes the moment that I see them which made this a little
tricky. I think the final problem would most likely have to be the fact that there were times that I
almost typed something in third person, like I was for a side project (Unintentional pun.) and I wasn t
able to fix this until I was finished writing the chapter, then I would go back and fix it on the Beta
copy.

A Report On Toyota s Production System
Abstract
Toyota today is one of the leading lean example in today s manufacturing market. Starting back in the
1930 s with the idea of Just in Time to cut down cost in waste from overstocked storage rooms to a
better efficient assembly lines who produced what was needed at a certain time. The Kanban system is
one of the most used methods that the Japanese found during the 1950 s during a trip to United States
in a super market.
Kanban Systems
Lean manufacturing originated long before Toyota and Ford, however the thought that it originated
with Toyota is flattering since they are the ones who perfected it. By creating the Toyota Production
System (TPS), Toyota found a better way to produce large quantities of product efficiently with
eliminating the waste factor and while cutting down cost. Taiichi Ohno a former Toyota vice president
promoted the idea of JIT (Just in Time) which means producing the necessary units in the necessary
quantities at the necessary time. (Monden) Which leads to Toyota s ultimate goal in the TPS is to
improve productivity for better return in investment. To have continuous flow in a production system
Toyota sought out to achieve the concept of JIT and autonomation . Since the TPS is what creates the
parts who monitors the JIT system? The kanban system which is an informational system that controls
quantities being produce in each process. As the discussion carries on throughout this paper about
Toyota and their use of the kanban system the topic

Essay on The Essence of Pop Culture
Talk about Pop Music, Talk about Pop Music was one of the most catchy phrases of the 1980 s. Just
as in the 80 s, today we see many characteristics of pop culture effecting our lives. But, what is pop
culture?
br
br I spent some time online trying to answer my question and time after time I was led to the same
direction: pop culture is what we see, hear, speak, and are otherwise exposed to on a daily basis. The
infomercials we see late on television, the billboards we see on the side of the road, the junk mail we
receive, the links on the web pages we visit, and the radio commercials we hear all tie together to form
this idea of pop culture. These, plus many other aspects, form our minds and teach us how to be
culturally smart. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Showing how people will believe movies, maybe because they see it, but yet not believe in a possible
salvation. Not all pop culture is like that. Look at the Jerry Springer Show. It is a cultural icon for
college students everywhere. It s the allure of crazy people and wild stories that attract people to
watch it. He has become forever an American figure and will always be associated when some one
brings up a story about a fight and they then say hey you remember that Springer Show? This show
represents the corrupt side of society, which we do not see on a normal daily basis, except for on the
show. It is typical American culture just as Wrestling is now becoming. They both offer a wild show
for entertainment and also shows a darker side of the society.
br
br As a society and culture, we decide what pop culture is. Our actions and reactions are read by the
media and the rest of society to build around what we want, ultimately creating Pop Culture. There is
not a bias for these ideas considering that everything that surrounds us, including history is pop culture
in a way. People decided what the times

Manet and The Bar
Edouard Manet s painting A Bar at the Folies Bergere, was completed in 1882 and is considered his
last great painting. He displayed it at the Paris Salon just one year before his passing. This painting as
vexed art historians throughout the years for its complex visual subject matter and leaves Manets true
interpretation of his painting in the air for discussion. Although there are many interpretations, A Bar
at the Folies Bergere is an avant garde; viewer engaging painting meant to give the viewer a new
perspective, hence the mirror.
At this time the Folies Bergere was one of the most elaborate variety shows in Paris, all sorts of
entertainment could be viewed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You might say it s an unoriginal form of art or you can see it as a different view on the reality of the
people.
We see that it s clear the woman is severed from everything else, making the painting almost
uninviting and lacks a sense of warmth. The images in the mirror are meant to be separate and not
interfere with the frontal image. It s that separation that draws so much of the discussion; without the
sense of her being separate, you have no cause to wonder what is actually going on. It s this interesting
perspective that makes this painting so unique, it s able to draw a conclusion from every viewer and
those conclusions for the most part can be very different.
The fact that the barmaids facial expressions don t seem to match up with the body language portrayed
in the reflection has to make you wonder what the true meaning, or if there is even a true meaning to
this piece, or if Manet s main purpose was to get the viewer to think and ponder about life, society,
morals and take it all in on a personal level. Art is meant to inspire and to showcase your personality
and individuality, but it s also meant to provoke thought and change. Manet s A Bar at the

Analysis Of Ray Kroc s S Hamburger Stand
Introduction
In 1954, Ray Kroc who was a milkshake mixer salesman went to visit McDonald s hamburger stand
when he heard they were running eight mixers at once and he was impressed by how rapidly
customers were served. So he became Dick and Mac McDonald business partner and opened his first
McDonald restaurant (Entrepreneur, 2015).When McDonalds started, they only had nine items on
their menu but Ray Kroc decided to innovate and start creating diversity of different sandwiches.
Hence he decided to follow Peter Ducker s theory Make what you can sell and not sell what you can
make , it was a smart idea because people usually get bored of one product and he started to use the

Today s organization revenue is 27,44 billion dollars with 85,706 million dollars brand value (Statista,
2015). Recently, people are becoming health conscious and a lot of other fast food chains are entering
the marketing with healthier menus, which can be a threat to McDonald Corporation. This essay will
argue that for this organization to stay successful it should find the solutions for it s challenges, use the
right segmentation and positioning strategies in the marketing of it s products and finally employ the
right promotional tools in order to further promote it s brand.
1) Challenges and solutions
Therefore, the solution can be found by using business models or creativity. Starting with the macro
environment PESTEL analysis; politically, the governments are trying to control the fast food chains
because of health concerns such as cholesterol, cardiovascular and obesity issues but the corporation
can overcome it because it pays taxes and offers jobs opportunity so it s helping the economy.
Economically, even though it is paying low salaries to it s employees its still offering a lot of jobs in
emergent countries who have high unemployment rate and selling low price food that people can

Creation Of The Boiled Doves West Analysis
Creation of the Soiled Doves West Chelsie N. Hall History 4250 001 Professor Webb November 25,
2014 The 19th century west was a male society. There is a contrast seen on the frontier; deprivation
and hardship as well as nobility and glamor. The imagery is hard to overlook, a rugged crowded
saloon filled with painted ladies and boisterous clientele. The environment and the women both bawdy
and rollicking complemented each other perfectly. 1 These women were standard fixtures in the image
of the west. Just as one would envision the one dimensional character of a miner or cowboy, there is
the dance hall girl. The emergence of their role of importance in the frontier institutional development.

Latin American Indigenous Groups Essay
Indigenous groups in Latin America have unfortunately suffered from losing many of their rights

language, etc. Latin America has approximately 45 million indigenous people who make up about
8.3% of the total population in this area of the world ( Indigenous People ). The focus of my report in

While many in the United States and Peru saw this agreement as positive legislation for further
economic growth in both the U.S and Peru, many indigenous groups in Peru had concerns and doubts.
Many indigenous people participated in demonstrations and protests against the TPA. The government
often criminalized and repressed these relatively peaceful acts. On June 5th 2009, outside of Bagua
Chica city violence ended up breaking out between sides, leading to 11 members of the police force
and 23 civilians dead ( Peru Overturns ). WOLA along with 12 other human rights groups wrote a
letter to the U.S Secretary of State asking for the government to examine the TPA, clarify it, and
possibly repeal parts if necessary. They also condemned the violence that had happened on both sides
of the dispute (WOLA). The Peruvian government decided to throw out a couple parts of the
legislation to try and make the indigenous activists happy. While this did help calm things down there
are still ongoing environmental problems especially for indigenous peoples. There was not only a
national outcry for change, but also an international one as

Sophocles The Golden Age
Sophocles was born about 496 BC in Colonus Hippius which is now a part of Athens, Greece, he was
to become one of the great playwrights of the golden age. Sophocles was the son of Laius and Jocasta,
both wealthy in the city that Sophocles grew up in. Luckily, He was the son of a wealthy merchant, he
would enjoy all the perks of a successful Greek empire. Sophocles was provided with the best
education which would help him in many ways in the future of his life. He studied the arts. By sixteen,
he was already known around the city for his contribution to lead a choir of boys at a celebration of
the victory of Salamis in a battle they had been fighting. Years later, he defeated Aeschylus, who was
known to be a play writer also dealing with tragedies and other various kinds of plays that he wrote in
his time.
In 441 BC Sophocles was beaten in an Athenian play competition by Euripides. From 468 BC,
however, Sophocles won many awards for his dramas and was noticed for his playwriting mind.
Sadly, Sophocles life ended near 406 BC at about the age of 90 which was about the time Athens was
in the golden age of plays and writings. Although, Sophocles wasn t in politics or militarily, he was
still elected twice to be in high military office. People would remember his contribution to the city and
what he has done to change the way of the theatre.
Sophocles wrote more than 100 plays of which seven complete tragedies and fragments of 80 or 90
others are preserved. He was the first to

The Canadian Guidelines For Sexual Education
Sexual education is an important topic which as to be addressed due to the growing debates as to
weather it should be implemented within the school system. The Canadian Guidelines for Sexual
Health Education states that sexual education curriculums addresses a range of topics including
puberty, effective contraceptive methods, prevention of STI/HIV, communication skills, sexual
orientation, interpersonal relationships, and media literacy (Public Health Agency of Canada).
Children need to address such issues early in order to protect them from early initiation of sexual
activity, sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy. The issue is then weather or not parents
support such a program. A historical factor affecting sexual health education (SHE) is how it affects
those strongly rooted in religion. Canadian education is divided between non secular schools and
denominational separate schools (usually Catholic). Canada is a largely Catholic country, with 67% of
the population describing themselves as Roman Catholics in the 2011 Census (NHS, 2011). In Ontario
alone, Card, 2010 found that, as of 2003, there were 31 public school boards in the province (with an
average enrollment of 44,000 students) and 29 separate school boards (with an average enrollment of
18,000). The provincial Ministry of Education mandates the type of instruction that sexual health
education provides, for both public and separate school boards. Mckay, 2014 found that within
Catholic schools its

  • 2. The Unexamined Life Is A Life Not Worth Living What is happiness, and how can one achieve true happiness? This is the ultimate question of life and what every person is seeking an answer to. Many feel that they have found their answer in belonging to the faith of their choice, but what is it that their faith teaches them that brings them happiness? The Philosophers Socrates, Plato and Aristotle all have a similar view on what happiness is and how to achieve it. Aristotle s view is based on Plato s and Plato s is based on Socrates teachings; this is why they are similar but they are all important and different with each philosopher s personal views and beliefs. Socrates was a great man who was assassinated for his beliefs on the purpose of life and how to live happily. He presented the excellence of function to determine how a person will truly be happiest. The true person is not what he is on the out side but what his psyche or soul is and when that is functioning well the person is happiest. Psyche is the human capacity for reflective thinking and also the consciousness of the soul. The unexamined life is a life not worth living. This is a quote from Socrates that supports his views on psyche. It states that when a person does not examine his life to find his true self, or excellence of function, that they are ignoring their true self and that a false life is not worth the time to live it. So an examined life will find its true self or what its function is and want to perform its function well. The excellence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Three types of potential errors in financial reporting include: 1. error introduced by rigidity in accounting rules; 2. random forecast errors; and 4 3. systematic reporting choices made by corporate managers to achieve specific objectives. Accounting Rules. Uniform accounting standards may introduce errors because they restrict management discretion of accounting choice, limiting the opportunity for managers superior knowledge to be represented through accounting choice. For example, SFAS No. 2 requires firms to expense all research and development expenditures when they are occurred. Note that some research expenditures have future economic value (thus, to be capitalized) while others do not (thus, to be expensed). SFAS No. 2 does not allow managers, who know the firm better than outsiders, to distinguish between the two types of expenditures. • 6. How Technology Has Improved With Better Mobility And More... As the technology developed and matured, hand held devices have been significantly improved with better mobility and more functions: when I was young, my father used to have a mobile cell phone which was very heavy its weight was over 1 lb., which was at least three times heavier than the newest iPhone. Also, besides the basic phone calling function, many new communication applications text messaging, social networks including Facebook and Instagram, and online video chat tools like Skype are integrated with the mobile devices. From using a simple handy phone to a well functioned smart phone, my communication style had also changed a lot. The first hand held mobile device for communication is a personal handy phone which is named Xiao Ling Tong in China. I received that in 2008 when I was in middle school. The device itself looks like a mini mobile phone, but its functions were limited to phone calling, text messaging and some simple games. Also, it did not have an individual phone number it was connected with the fixed line telephone and they share the same phone number. At that time, the way I was using my handy phone was to contact my parents through phone calling when I went out. I did not use that to communicate with my friends or classmates frequently as most of them did not own mobile devices. However, it was not as convenient as a true smart phone: it did not have roaming service, which meant that it could only be used locally. In 2010, I went to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The American Dream Analysis Even though Dexter has had a privileged life, his point of view in the story represents the common man working towards an American Dream. His view of the world is often rose colored and does not see the world for what it truly is until his dream is ripped from his hands. This effects the text because at first the reader lives in his shoes as Dexter blissfully allows himself to be seduced by his American Dream, Judy Jones. Fitzgerald writes, I don t know what s the matter with me. Last night I thought I was in love with a man and to night I think I m in love with you it seemed to him a beautiful and romantic thing to say. It was the exquisite excitability that for the moment he controlled and owned. But a week later he was compelled to view this same quality in a different light. She took him in her roadster to a picnic supper, and after supper she disappeared, likewise in her roadster, with another man, (5). In the moment, he allows himself to believe that she is in love with him. After all, if a beautiful girl who has a history of tempting men tells him she loves him, it must be true. As the text is told from Dexter s point of view, the reader sees his foggy motivation and drive to keep chasing after Judy. The only thing that matters is whether or not she is with him, despite words she says may seem rude or unfaithful to anyone outside of his point of view. Even though Fitzgerald does not write the story in first person, he makes a great point of letting the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Essay on Love and Spoon River Anthology Love Hurts With divorce rates of today being at an all time high, people say that marriage has lost its value. It is also said that it is rare to find a happy relationship. Edgar Lee Masters seemed to believe the same about the romantic relationships of his time, as well. Masters conveys theses feelings through some of the characters of his work, Spoon River Anthology. Edgar Lee Masters uses unhappy marriages as a common factor in the deaths of many of the characters including Margaret Fuller Slack, Amanda Barker and Tom Merritt in order to reveal his own discontent toward romantic relationships. First, Margaret Fuller Slack s loveless relationship with her husband is a main factor in her death. In the poem, Margaret Fuller Slack, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is one way that Masters displays his discontent toward romantic relationships. Also, Masters uses Amanda Barker s loveless and hateful relationship with her husband Henry as the cause of her death. In the poem Amanda Barker, the character tells of how she died at a young age at the fault of her husband. Masters wrote: HENRY got me with child, /Knowing that I could not bring forth life /Without losing my own. Here, the character, Amanda Barker, retells of how her husband, Henry, killed her. He was fully aware that she could not have a child without losing her own life, yet he impregnates her anyway. She also tells of how the townspeople believed that her husband loved her, but this was not the truth. Masters wrote: ...it is believed in the village where I lived /That Henry loved me with a husband s love /But I proclaim from the dust /That he slew me to gratify his hatred. If it where not for her relationship with Henry, she would not have died young. This, once again, shows Edgar Lee Masters feelings about marriage. By often using marriage and relationships as an important factor in the death of many of his characters, Lee confirms his doubt in them. Finally, Tom Merritt s death had occurred because of his wife s romantic relationship with a lover. The poems, Tom Merritt, Mrs. Merritt, and Elmer Karr tell the story of a married woman s affair with a young man who, in the end, kills her husband. From the husband Tom s ... • 10. The Growing Importance Of Ethical Business Managers The Growing Importance of Ethical Business Managers Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) describe that the need for ethical business managers and practices has never been greater. Recent financial scandals have exposed issues in the management decision making process, suggesting a need to develop the necessary analytical and empathetic qualities so future corporate leaders may be moral managers (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). This recent pattern of business misconduct (Michaelson, 2015) and single minded pursuit of profit has made the promotion of ethical values a key concern for modern business organizations (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). This paper will discuss how literary fiction (i.e. novels, literature, narrative, fiction, drama, comics) can help organizations develop ethical managers by discussing (1) the growing importance of ethical business managers (2) the benefits of a novel approach to business ethics, and (3) the moral value of literary fiction to business. During the past few years, many companies have seen their reputations plummet in the wake of various corporate scandals (Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw, 2010). With this context of an amoral and inept set of global management practices, Julia Shaw Hillary Shaw (2010) propose the need for a new breed of manager, namely the moral manager. While Eastwood describes that leadership is an essentially moral act, he elaborates that there is a disconnection between this notion and the behavior of some business ... I now have a new work out that I love doing and will continue to do well into the future. For my weekly goals, I did meet them most weeks however, there were some weeks where I felt I did not reach the goal I set for myself. That was to be expected so it never derailed my motivation when I came up short on my goals. I did meet all of my long term goal. In the end I gained more flexibility while still improving my strength and maintain my body composition. I also found a workout that I enjoy doing which distresses and relaxes me. The only change that needs to be made to continue my progress is that I need to devote more time to working on my flexibility, even more than I already do. Whenever I have free time I should spend 15 20 minutes working on my flexibility so that I can eventually get to where I want to be. Before, once I finished my yoga workouts for the week is was sometimes hard to find the motivation to work on my flexibility during my down time. That is now something I would like to change. • 13. The psychology of an adolescence gives a unique look on how certain stimuli, such as music, can affect the way they think, and more importantly, act. The first place to look would be the brain, looking into what makes up these processes. Its main function is to interpret the sounds that are coming through and analyze the volume, pitch, speed, melody and rhythm (Kassem, 2014). The second portion is the Cerebrum, the largest section of the brain that is located at the top of the head. A few regions in the cerebrum have different functions in the ability to interpret music. For energy efficient and maximize lifetime of nodes we introduce techniques aimed to minimize power consumption of all nodes by using multicast routing protocol. Multicast routing protocol is independent of unicast routing protocol. Multicast source node or root node will transmit packets or data to number of receivers node in the network. The source node first time broadcast the message and second time it unicast the packet to destination. Before transmitting packets to all receiver nodes the source node first identifies the multicast group nodes in that network. So we introduce techniques to identify the neighbor nodes for multicast group using distance of each node. 2.1 Identification of neighbor node: Multicast routing protocol consists of unremitting sending the message from source to multiple destinations. Nora Helmer, in Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House, leaves her husband and family at the end of the play a move that can be viewed as either very selfish or very heroic. They may not have performed their magic with just God s powers help, yet they would not have been able to perform with only celestial ways either, they came together hand in hand. However, he explained that magic that came from the heavenly bodies was natural magic. Therefore, anything that could not be considered natural could not have come from heaven or God. Addressing the Problem: Due to the Japanese presence in China during the late 1930s and early 1940s, the United States embargoed oil exports to Japan as a punishment for interfering with the open trade policy in China. This embargo was detrimental to the Japanese supply because Japan depended on the US for 80% of its imported oil. The Japanese also had no significant natural sources of oil in its possession. Therefore, the oil problem became a crisis as military demands quickly drained Japanese stockpiles. The Alternative Approach: A more effective approach would have been to appease the Americans in the short term, while additionally searching for and quickly mobilizing other sources of oil in order to reduce dependence on the US. This two step approach would have been more effective in pursuing the Japanese s GCPS because the short term setback would have allowed for the long term survival of Japan s plan to become a regional great power. By taking the admittedly high risk route of attacking Pearl Harbor, the Japanese significantly constricted the GCPS s chances of survival. In order to obtain vital amounts of oil for the continuation of Japanese military power, appeasing the Americans by letting go of China for the time being would have allowed the GCPS to survive another day and to continue once the country had obtained its own independent source of oil. a. Appeasing the Americans and Receiving Oil Diplomatically The appeasement of the Americans would have been feasible with some flexibility and long term thinking.
