Advantages Of The South In The Civil War
My essay is going to be about the advantages that the North and the South had on each other. In my
essay i m also going to talk about political, social, economic and the population. Advantages that the
North had were they had more train tracks and they had more people in the North than the South did.
The train tracks were important and that helped the North by transport the soldiers to the South instead
making the soldiers walk and make them get tired. The North had more people that means you have a
better chance of winning the Civil War. The North has gunpowder was imported to the North. Since
the North controlled the Navy. The South can make all the food that was needed. The South had an
advantage in the Civil War because the war was on their own land. Slavery didn t end ... Show more

Renewing the Mind
Renewing the Mind
I attempt to speak from personal experience as much as possible in addition to citing the opinions and
facts of others, let me begin by stating that probably the most harmful pattern of the world is the
judgment of others. It is true and I have witnessed firsthand the self esteem of many being cut down to
mere nothingness by the judgment of others. Is it a crime to look different, talk different or be unique
in our own special way?
Through my examination of the New Age belief system I believe many in society see themselves as
being the Lord of their own universe (Sire, 2009, p. 179) and I wonder does this flawed thinking lead
to an overinflated ego and the harmful judgment of others? The world without doubt is an irrational
and super rational place in the universe which produces stoned thinking (Sire, 2009, p. 180) people.
With this thought in mind it is very easily to see how the harmful judgment of others becomes the
social order of the day. New Age thinking has also crept into Christianity long before it was even
thought of, namely Roman Catholicism. For years I have struggled with the concept of papal
infallibility and the pope being seen as equivalent to God himself when speaking ex cathedra
(Houdmann, n.d., para. 1). I have also wrestled with the dogmatic principles, traditions, and the
Church s judgment of other faiths and even its own pilgrims in relation to human rights and God s
own natural law. The Catholic Church is not all bad,

Serfdom In Imperial Russia
Imperial Russia from its conception, has not been an economic or agricultural power house. Often
enough the majority of Imperial Russia s population lived well below the poverty line and struggled to
get by while the rich lined their pockets. This economic inequality became possible through serfdom.
The emancipation of serfs in Imperial Russia has been greatly scrutinized for its ineffectiveness in
promptly bringing about this change. However, ultimately the biggest question is how important were
serfs to the economic ability of Russia and whether or not their emancipation was a positive economic
force or negative. If you look at the overall effects especially in the long term, it is easy to see that
serfdom was an incredibly large part of the Russian economy, and the emancipation of serfs was a
positive change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the very beginning of recorded history to up until near modern times, there has been a
systematic exploitation of human labor. This exploitation primarily occurred in two ways: serfdom
and slavery. Most people are familiar with slavery as it was the more common practice especially in
North America post colonization. However, the more common practice throughout Europa and Asia
was serfdom. A slave is somebody who s life has essentially been purchased, their body was given a
numerical value and somebody bought it. Slaves are physical property of their owner much like a
book or a house. A serf on the other hand is similar in functionality but different in its basic definition.
A serf is someone who is tied to the land. What that means is that the serf has to follow every
command of whoever owns the land that the serf is tied to. In return the serf also obtains a small piece
of land barely enough to sustain him/her. This is the most basic foundation of feudalism. Serfs are the
lowest and most populous class that is exploited for their physical

Introduction Of Louis Vuitton Malletier
Louis Vuitton Malletier, most commonly referred to as Louis Vuitton, was established in 1854 by
Louis Vuitton, who pursued his impetuous passion for the fashion industry by constructing his own
luxury fashion retail company. Louis Vuitton, who was only 10 when his mother passed away, decided
to leave his home at the age of 13, alone and on foot, bound for Paris. He traveled for more than two
years, taking odd jobs to feed himself along the way and staying wherever he could find shelter, as he
walked the 292 mile trek from his native Anchay to Paris. He arrived in 1837, at the age of 16. After
arriving, Louis noticed the wide spread poverty, but what really peaked his interest was how Paris was
being transformed by the industrial revolution. Vuitton met a successful box maker and packer named
Monsieur Marechal, who took Louis on as an apprentice to his craft. In 19th century Europe, box
making and packing was a highly respectable and urbane craft. A box maker and packer custom made
all boxes to fit the goods they stored and they personally loaded and unloaded the boxes. It took
Vuitton only a few years to stake out a reputation amongst Paris s fashionable class as one of the city s
premier practitioners of his new craft. In 1854 at age 33, Vuitton married 17 year old Clemence Emilie
Parriaux. Soon after the marriage, he left Marechal s shop, and inaugurated his own workshop of box
making and packing in Paris. Outside the shop a sign hung reading Securely packs the most

On a personal level, it was a low point, because I was going through a depression. That was a difficult
time for me. At the same time it was my highest point, because I overcame the depression by talking
about the crossroads I was at. (Billboard: Q A: Janet Jackson Still in Control) Despite the mass
recognition, countless awards, and top album sales, Janet was unhappy and dealing with a lot of
childhood and teenage trauma that resurfaced after making the Velvet Rope album. As a child, Janet
had to learn very quickly that her job was to entertain, please everyone, and to never show her
weaknesses. Learning those values very early on caused a number of issues that bled over into her
adulthood that affected her self esteem, confidence, and relationship with others. Having had two
secret failed marriages before the age of 30, Janet found herself searching for the answers on why her
luck in love was so bad. While assessing her relationship issues, she later realized that the violent
control from her father, teasing from her siblings and people in the entertainment business about her
weight, and never having a normal childhood caused her to go in a deep depression that could have

Similarities Between Lewis And Clark
Meriwether Lewis was an American explorer, who with William Clark led the expedition through the
unchartered Louisiana Territory. The article Lewis and Clark: Into the Unknown tells the story of
Lewis and Clark s journey: how they survived the harsh weather and what they discovered. Lewis and
Clark: Revisited tells how a modern group of adventures reenacted Lewis and Clark s escapade. There
were many similarities in the reenactors and Lewis and Clark s trek. For example, both the Corps of
Discovery and the reenactors encountered Native Americans, some friendly and helpful, others not as
cooperative. Despite these similarities, there are multiple differences in the adventurers expeditions,
such as the food they ate and the equipment they used. The reenactors used a boat with an attached
motor, while Meriwether Lewis used a keelboat to explore. The ways that the Corps of Discovery
explored can be compared and contrasted to the ways that the reenactors of the Discovery Expedition
journeyed. From clothing to encounters, there are multiple similarities in the reenactors and Lewis and
Clark s journey. For instance, both expeditions had help from Native Americans. In Lewis and ...

America History Teach Us About The Dangers Of Racism
What does this episode in US history teach us about the dangers of racism?
I think this period in history aptly depicts racism as a very sad, narrow minded, damaging, and ugly
mentality. Anyone who has ever been a target of anything gossip, slander, teasing or felt isolated,
ostracized, friendless, misunderstood or misjudged should have a heart for and the ability to empathize
with other people. Sadly, while this episode in history (and many others) clearly demonstrates the
dangers and horrors of racism, there are still many who choose to embrace the warped mentality from
which it springs. History has shown us this repeatedly. Personally, I cannot comprehend such a
perspective, as it has no basis in any kind of rational, reasonable, logical principle or ideal. But then, I
was always the scrawny kid that stood up for the underdog and fought off bullies, even if they were
twice my size and I ended up being the one that took a beating. To me, racism represents a corrupted
mentality; a level of arrogance, entitlement, and repackaged, relabeled bullying that is heartbreaking
and deplorable. And it is not just Caucasians who have throughout history fallen prey to the ugly
tentacles of racism. Beneath the surface, almost every nation, even otherwise very hospitable Asian
nations, have some racist views of another nation or nations which they perceive as worse than them.
Hopefully, humanity will eventually learn from history, and we can once and for all end the vicious
cycle of

Secret Santa Gift Essay
Most of us are members of many groups, or workplaces that have secret Santa gift exchanges around
Christmas time. It can be difficult to make a decision as to what to get for a person that we barely
know so let s stick to the basics. These gifts are sure to impress, and come in under budget and leave
people wondering who got me this fantastic gift . Here are some of the top secret Santa gifts for 2008.
When taking part in a secret Santa exchange in the office we don t always know the person that we are
buying gifts for. For this reason, it s a great idea to get to know the person that we have chosen from
the hat. Ask the closest person to the recipient what are some of his or her favorite things and you will
be sure to find a great gift. A great bottle of wine is a classic gift. Who doesn t appreciate it? To mix it
up a little bit ad in two great wine glasses or goblets for the recipient to share with a special someone.
Christmas gifts for co workers should be the perfect amount of personal, but not too personal. A bottle
of wine with two glasses becomes the perfect gift. A safe secret Santa gift for the girl at the office, or
the woman is luxurious lotions or bath potions that she would not buy for herself. Consider visiting
the makeup or fragrance at counter at the local department store and ask the representatives for their

Personality Traits Of The Big Five
As we all know, humans come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities. A big part of being an adult is
entering the work field and finding a career. That s where the Big five personality traits come in. The
five traits that most employers base their tests off of are; neuroticism, extroversion, agreeableness,
conscientiousness, and openness to experience. So the next time you take a pretest for employment
would these would be good to keep in mind. Especially when determining if you re a good fit for that
position. As stated earlier, the big five personality traits are neuroticism, extroversion, agreeableness,
conscientiousness, and openness to experience (sevencounties.org). There are other personalities that
we as people have. It s a way to express ourselves and communicate with others. But the big five was
picked to help focus in on a successful work environment. Neuroticism is how easily the person will
experience unpleasant emotions, such as depression, anger, and anxiety (sevencounties.org). This will
measure how the person will be able to handle uncomfortable situations involved with these emotions.
In the workplace we don t only have to deal with consumers, we also have to deal with our fellow
coworkers. This will help prepare someone for the workplace. The next personality is extroversion.
Extroversion describes how much energy one would have and if they would be able to interact with
others (sevencountries.org). Communication is a very import life

John Mandel Station 11 Analysis
The hero, or quester, in the novel Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel is the shakespearean
actress Kirsten Raymonde who is about 28 years old and a member of the Traveling Symphony: a
performance group dedicated to preserving human culture after the collapse of civilization 20 years
prior due to the highly infectious and deadly Georgia Flu. The destination of her personal quest, and
the quest of the symphony at large, is a small post apocalyptic settlement called St. Deborah by the
Water. The simple reason they are going there is because it is one of the dozens of towns that they
routinely visit as they travel a repeating, established circuit performing Shakespeare s plays and
classical music. The main problem en route to St. Deborah by the Water is the interpersonal grudges
that occur within people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The symphony does, however, protect and value one another despite their petty grudges because they
are, at their core, close families that live together and protect one another as their own: a true
community. This ties into the overarching theme of the novel concerning the quest for family or
community amidst isolation and loneliness. Thus the real reason for the quest to reach St. Deborah by

Farenheit 451 and Today s Society, an Analogy
Dorothea Brande said, There are seeds of self destruction in all of us that will bear only unhappiness if
allowed to grow. Today s society is mainly focused on technology, in being approved by others, and
other things that without doubt lead it to destruction and failure. Most people in our society think of
themselves as happy, yet it is the complete opposite. Humans these days are simply miserable and torn
between work, technology and many other things that separate them from true happiness. Too much
technology has consumed people s brains and most of the times makes them lose the capability to
think for themselves, communicate with others and it also leads to laziness. The lack of family
relationship and communication has ruined most families and has redefined the traditions and the
meaning of a family. Too much conformity has redefined what is acceptable for people to do and not
do just to be accepted. Just like the society in Fahrenheit 451, today s society is equally self
destructive. Exactly like the novel, our society has focused too much on technology. Technology has
affected the way our society is educated and learns. In school most children do not take time to think
for themselves when it come to things such as reading and understanding concepts. The students know
that with a click of a bottom they can get the answers to anything. They learn less and less each time
and depend more and more on technology and the internet to be able to succeed in life and in

Muscle Compensation Patterns
Your wrist hurts, now your bicep hurts, then your shoulder hurts, and you are now wondering why
your whole arm hurts. Muscle compensation happens when people hurt one muscle and they try to
make up for their weakened strength. The Fleet Feet Sports Webpage, a webpage dedicated to runners
and their health, says, The body uses compensation patterns to perform motions when strength and
mobility are not sufficient ( Compensation Patterns ). Compensation can lead to a multitude of serious
problems. During a job shadowing experience, I saw a patient experience multiple injuries due to a
muscle compensation pattern. Muscle compensation can lead to a magnitude of injuries, as
demonstrated by a patient I observed.

Pain that was in one area, then localizes into another muscle is one symptom. Friction in a joint where
someone cannot move through a full range of motion ( Compensation Patterns ). The friction would be
caused by edema, or swelling, in the joint. The Fleet Feet Website, a runners and health website, has
numerous symptoms to look out for. They say someone should notice chronic muscle tightness, even
with stretching ( Compensation Patterns ). Unusual tenderness in a muscle that is not usually tender (
Compensation Patterns ). Another sign is a recurring injury that never goes away ( Compensation
Patterns ). Bad posture can also be a symptom with pain around the joint. These symptoms are key
signs of muscle compensation. Muscular compensation can be hidden.
Some people cannot tell they have muscular compensation. Asymmetry is hidden by false symmetry
due to muscle compensation ( Dangers of Muscular ). This means that your body can hide the signs of
these patterns. The body will recognize there is asymmetry because of the weak muscles, then it will
fix it with falsesymmetry. The body can allow this to go on until it is seriously injured. The Fleet Feet

Self Identity In Initiation And Borders
Self identity is the understanding a person has of themselves. The more certain we are of our self
identify, the more likely we will stick with our beliefs and values and not conform. While individuals
often feel obligated to conform to the expectations of society, those that are confident can overcome
these pressures, leading to the findings of one s identity. Obtaining confidence is a process individuals
undergo, once achieved an individual can decide to believe in themselves. The stories Initiation and
Borders support the belief that self confident individuals are independent, optimistic, accepting, and
self aware of their abilities. Some may argue that confident individuals conform to the ways of society.
However, it is evident that people with a strong sense of confidence live according to their values and
beliefs rather than conforming. In Borders the manager of the duty free shop, Mel, had told the mother

Both stories Initiation and Borders identify characters that have accepted themselves for who they are.

easier if my mother had just said Canadian and been done with it, but I could see she wasn t going to

Correspondingly, in Initiation the author uses heather birds to symbolize freedom and acceptance as
they are all unique. Millicent expresses herself as a heather bird hence, they are free and accept
themselves for who they are. Millicent remains true to her identity: Within Millicent another melody

The Government Is A System Of The Dual Federalism
Federalism has numerous levels of government in which each of them have their own self governing
authority over some of the policy areas. It helps in balancing the power between the national and
subunit governments. Various forms of the government are being observed internationally, including
the confederation and unitary government. The Confederal government was the very first form of
government the United States had that is held under the Articles of Confederation; in which the states
hold the authority over a limited national government. The most common form of government
throughout the world is the unitary government in which the national and centralized government
holds the ultimate authority. If there was no form of federal government, each individual state would
face problems that may affect multiple states. This would lead a central government to come up with a
mutual solution that would be beneficial to all the states across the nation or to the ones that need it
most. Some scholars believe that the American government is a system of the dual federalism. This
simply means that the national and state governments have control over unique spheres of policy.
Others believe it to be a shared or cooperative federalism in which means that both the governments
work together in all areas of the policy, or supply their services to the citizens. The balance of power
between the states and the federal government of the United States constantly shifts back and forth

children grow, learn, and change is significant as it allows people to accept and appreciate the
cognitive, physical, emotional, educational, and social growth that kids undergo from birth through
early adulthood. Piaget is well known for her cognitive developmental theory that sees the kid
cognitive development and knowledge, as taking place in different stages. According to his theory, he

the range in kid s development between the child s ability to perform a duty independently and their
ability to do a skill with the help of an adult. Erickson believed that the personality of a child tends to
develop in a number of stages. One of the primary elements of the stages is ego identity. This is the
conscious sense of self that grows through social interaction. According to Erickson, ego identity
changes regularly due to the new experiences and information children get through their daily
interactions with other kids (Kenpro, 2010). Keith sees cognitive, behavioral therapy as a way of
sharing the assumptions that behavioral difference is mediated by various cognitive events. His advice
to Jasmine s parents might vary because of the kind of problem issues. These may include diary of
associated feelings and events, behaviors and thoughts; assumptions, questioning and testing
cognitions and beliefs that could be unrealistic. Also, this could be majorly by undertaking activities
that could have been easily avoided, and by also trying out new methods of reacting and behaving
(Herzog et al, 1997). Families play a key role in cognitive development. Families should support early
learning in three significant ways (Kenpro, 2010). One is by encouraging the significant of intellectual
growth. Secondly, assist the kids in classroom learning, and thirdly engage the kids at home in various
cognitive tasks.

This meant that her disability had severe impact on her performance on the exam. Despite being
named the prevailing party and the District Court issuing a primary injunction, Enyart had not yet

irreparable harm having occurred due to not having her preferred accommodations. Furthermore, they
claim that they have provided satisfactory alternate accommodations other than TextZoom and JAWS

she has proven likely to succeed on merit already in district court and that by not having the necessary

a group of teens, who attend a boarding school, have a different way of life than I do. Even though
there is many differences between our cultures, there are still some similarities peeping through all the
differences. One of the most important parts of culture, I believe, is who influenced you to grow your
culture, and who influenced you to act the way you act. Therefore, family is a big part in controlling
your culture. If you are Destiny Faraday, the main character of The Miles Between, you do not have a
family, or anybody to rely on. No mother, father, sister, nor brother, nobody to raise her into the way
she is, and to help her create her culture. Destiny witnessed her parents and her brother Gavin die in a
plane crash at the age of seven. That was a very traumatic incident she had to witness at such a young
age, my parents and Gavin are dead (Pearson, 230). The quote was her telling her friends that her
parents are no longer alive. This is a large difference because I still have my parents, and they have
raised me my whole life, which has a big affect on how my culture is developed and experienced.
What my parents eat, has influenced what I eat. What music my

Thermal Factors That Affect Human Comfort
Introduction
There are many factors that affect human comfort in the internal built environment. Human comfort is
affected by thermal factors; physical factors and personal factors. Another factor that can affect human
comfort is sound of the environment around them. The final factor that affects the human comfort is
the visual of the room and the light intensity. There are ways to measure the physical factors that affect
human thermal comfort, the sound comfort and the visual comfort.
Thermal Factors
The average temperature inside a building is 19 21 degrees and outside is 1 degrees, but there are two
different thermal factors that affect the temperature of the room and human comfort; they are physical
and personal factors. The physical factors include; air temperature, mean radiation temperature,
relative humidity and air velocity. The air temperature inside of a building will change depending on
the temperature outside the building and the k values of the materials used to build the walls and
insulation. K values are the values that all materials have which shows how good insulators the
materials are, the lower the k value the more affective the materials are at retaining heat. The u value
is what overall heat resistance of the materials are. Air temperature is also affected by the people
inside the building and they activity they are doing. The mean radiant temperature also affects the
human comfort; mean radiant temperature is the radiation that is coming into the

Women Athletic Trainers in the NFL
Women in the National Football League The NFL is a man s world where each and every man is out
on the field to show off his athleticism. Every aspect of the game, whether it is on the field or on the
side lines, is predominately male. However, there is an area of the NFL that women could become a
part of. Women could become athletic trainers for the NFL. An athletic trainer is a health care
specialist that focuses on prevention of injury and rehab to recuperate athletes (Summary). Currently
there are no women employed in the NFL although one woman used to work for the Pittsburgh
Steelers (Mihoces). There are many people that agree that women should be able to work in the NFL,
but there are also many people that do not believe women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is unnerving to have a woman in the same room while players are showering and changing. It is also
awkward for the female athletic trainer to be present when men all around her are changing and
showering. A second argument for those who oppose is that women are seen as pushovers in the
training room. Stereotypically, women are seen as dainty, elegant people that cannot stand up in an
authority position over the gigantic football brutes. Likewise, it is awkward for a female athletic
trainer to demonstrate her power over the coach. If the athletic trainer believes that the team needs a
water break, it is his or her obligation to inform the coach, and sometimes it can get pretty dicey
between the athletic trainer and the coach. Also, if an athletic trainer will not clear a player to be able
to return to play, the coach and the athletic trainer can become very argumentative and irrational. If the
athletic trainer is female, the coach believes that she will hold grudges like most other females they
know. The final argument is that women can be a distraction to the players. If there is a female on the
field, the players could get distracted and not be able to focus clearly on the task at hand. Almost
following the same line, there is a big hazard potential. Sexual harassment is a big issue in any work
environment, but imagine how much more of a hazard this would be. The hazard potential of sexual
harassment

The Role Of Fashion During The 1920 S
The 1920 s was a time of great change. (Some changes that happened during 1920s were the nation s
wealth doubled, more americans lived in the cities, advancements in technology, and women being
able to vote.) One big change that occurred during the 1920 s social shift was the fashion industry.
Fashion is something that reflects the beliefs and social standards of that time. This industry, along
with others, had an immense boom during the 1920s. The evolution of fashion during this decade is
described as ... abandoning fussiness and unnecessary details (Anne McEvoy). Fashion played an
important role in the 1920s, for it was a reflection of a period of escapism, women s independence, a
relaxation of morals and standards, and the evolving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women were looking to become their own person, they wore comfortable and colorful clothing, they
worked, and they went to parties. For once they wanted to live for themselves. A flapper is one women
most people associate with the 1920s. Flappers were generally young women who bobbed their hair
(cut it short). They wore short, loose fitting dresses and enhanced their faces with makeup (Cynthia
Johnson and Lawrence W. Backer). Being a flapper was one way women could be independent and
not be highly criticized for.
Flappers weren t just recognized for the fashionable clothes, it described their unconventional attitudes
and behavior ( Anne McEvoy). Flappers and young women in the 1920s used fashion as a way to
speak for them, wearing certain things to let other people know that they wanted to be more free and
modern as a society. Flappers and young women weren t the only women who wanted change, older
women wanted change too, by fighting for their right to vote. They also used fashion to reflect what
they were fighting for. Many liberated suffragettes wore bright red lipstick as a symbol of their
newfound voices ( by Cynthia Johnston and Lawrence W. Backer). Women s independence was one of
the biggest social changes that occurred.
Women and men started to become more laid back and relaxed about the high expectation that were
expected from the older generations. On both sides of the Atlantic life was now fun, one

Government Control Throughout Literary Works
Governmental control surrounds society daily and has been around for centuries. Governments came
around so that they could control others. It recurs throughout The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by
William Shakespeare, as well as in The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Even in modern
day, government control remains a significant part of life. For example, the SOPA bill arose in
Congress when the need for anti piracy protection became urgent or the USA admitting the Yemeni
dictator into one of its medical centers. It occurs from the 1500s in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
to the 1800s in The Count of Monte Cristo and even modern day. Each government designs itself in a
way so that it functions with a united purpose to keep the human ... Show more content on

Napoleon puts himself into power after he successfully overthrows the king of France. The French
monarchy weakens day by day and thus, the Napoleon Empire quickly establishes itself in the
monarchy s place. Governmental control appears strongly when it just takes Villefort s signature to
throw an innocent person into jail. Dantes realizes this when he thinks: Villefort s change in
demeanour during the examination, the burning of the letter, the exacted oath, the magistrate s almost
supplicating voice which seemed to implore rather than to threaten, all passed through his mind
(Dumas 61). Once Dantes learns of Villefort s treachery, his personality completely turns around. An
innocent man should not be sent to jail because someone else chooses to cover his or her tracks and fix
his or her own problems. Governmental control has become corrupted and no longer functional. The
1800s style governments opened themselves to conflict; however, corruption prevailed. Modern day
differs greatly compared to previous centuries but the need for control has continued to live on.
Modern day has vastly improved its government over the previous centuries. However, society still
faces issues due to governmental control. A bill called SOPA tried to limit creativity on the Internet,
but classed as an anti piracy bill. The USA formerly debated on whether to admit a Yemeni dictator,
one who has killed thousands of the Yemeni people, into one of its medical centers.

Parkinson s disease (PD) is a type of progressive brain disorder in the human body. Brain activity

The Impossibility Of Perfection In Hawthorne s The...
Throughout Hawthorne s The Birthmark , the impossibility of perfection in this world, and yet how
close to perfection Georgiana is, is a recurring theme, especially in this passage. There is no way to be
human and yet so perfect in such an imperfect world. Therefore, she is an angel, sent down from the
heavens to find a pure human who could love not for beauty, but unconditionally, and prove the worth
of humanity. It is impossible to be truly perfect on this world, and human lives are finite. It is the fatal
flaw of humanity. Here it is made clear that Georgiana is more than human, for she is described as
being almost absolutely perfect, if it were not for the mark on her cheek. A mark, which Aylmer might
have felt his affection heightened by the prettiness of this mimic hand, stating that even her fatal flaw
is beautiful. If she were human, she could not be so perfect. Before Aylmer became obsessed with her
birthmark, she was extremely happy. She loved everything, and found beauty in most everything as
well. No human can truly be so optimistic, no matter how they may seem. However, once Aylmer
started to shame her and tear down her self esteem over the small mark on her cheek, which could
have been beautiful, Georgiana became depressed. Despite this, she still tried to see the beauty in
everything, looking through the eyes of an angel at a world she only knew from afar. Aylmer is afraid
of Georgiana s birthmark in this passage, and of what it symbolizes. He sees it

Accountability in Nursing
Introduction Responsibility is defined as the reliability, dependability, and the obligation to
accomplish work , responsibility also includes each person s obligation to perform at an acceptable
level, the level that the person has been educated (Kelly Heidenthal, 2003, p. 268). Accountability is
defined as, being responsible and liable for actions or failure of actions of oneself or others in the
context of delegation (NCSBN, 2009). This is in reference to the nurse s legal liability for the actions
taken and patient outcomes. Accountability and responsibility are different, as responsibility belongs
to the person doing the task and accountability belongs to the person who assigned the task. The nurse
is both accountable for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the legal liability the practitioner owes to the patient. By accepting the responsibility to
perform a task the practitioner must ensure the task is performed competently at least to the standard
of the ordinarily competent practitioner in that type of task. If a practitioner such as a registered nurse
should delegate a task, then that practitioner must be sure that the delegation is appropriate. This
means that the task must be necessary; and the person performing the delegated task, for example a
HCA, must understand the task and how it is performed, have the skills and abilities to perform the
task competently and accept responsibility for carrying it out One common mistakes exhibited by
professionals in the field is delegation of duties by persons. Nurses should be wary of delegating
duties to health care assistant because nurses should be aware of the abilities of the person with whom
he or she is delegating duties. This is to minimize any chance of poor service delivery. Poor patient
attendance by a person tasked with the duty at the time of delivery will extend the liability to the nurse
delegating duties. Accountability of nurses is clearly pinpointed and well within the realm of law. A
nurse is accountable to all the patients he or she is expected to attend to. Such accountability as
underlined by common law helps promote safety of all patients. Accountability to the profession is
one other important aspect that provides an

Ovid s Metamorphoses Sexuality
When one becomes familiar with mythology through Ovid s Metamorphoses, a collection of
preexisting myths, strung together with the unifying theme of metamorphosis and divine intervention,
a new language of allusions is discovered. This is used by Christopher Marlowe to better express the
themes of beauty and sexuality through an Ovidian aesthetic in his epyllion, Hero and Leander.
Marlowe writes of two naïve lovers, equal in beauty, separated by the Hellespont, Leander in Abydos

Clavichord Research Paper
The pipe organ, clavichord, and harpsichord are considered as the earliest keyboard instrument. The
hydraulis organ is the oldest kind of pipe organ, appearing in the third century BC. It was not a
keyboard in the modern sense. From its invention until the 14th century, the organ remained the only
keyboard instrument.
Clavichord and the harpsichord appeared during the 14th century. The clavichord probably appeared
earlier than the harpsichord. The harpsichord and clavichord were both common until the appearance
of the piano in the 18th century, after which their popularity decreased. The Clavichord is a European
stringed keyboard instrument known from the late Medieval, through the Renaissance, Baroque, and
Classical eras. The Clavichord was mostly used as a practice instrument and as an instrument for
composition, because the instrument itself was not loud enough for larger performance. The
clavichord produces sound by striking brass or iron strings with small metal blades called tangents. It
allowed the strings to continue vibrating as long as the key was depressed. Thus, players had more
control over the volume of their instrument. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harpsichord was an important keyboard instrument in Europe from the 15th through the 18th

relatively little string tension. The Italian instrument is considered pleasing but unspectacular in its
tone and serves well for accompanying singers or other instruments. Towards the end of the historical
period larger and more elaborate Italian instruments were built, notably by Bartolomeo Cristofori, who
later invented the piano. A major weak point of the harpsichord was that the dynamics of each note

The Treatment Of Physician Assisted Suicide
Just imagine...the invitation arriving in the mail, it was no ordinary invite. The days of physical misery
and suffering that lead up to this final celebration of life were unbearable to watch. Having a
terminally ill family member is hard because you know the days, weeks and months are numbered.
Quality of life, what is that anyway? Each passing hour has the quality of life diminishing to
unimaginable physical pain and anguish. Watching someone you love slip away and turn into a shell
of who they once were is unbearable. This invitation is special. This special day and every precious
hour will give the loved ones a time to say goodbye just before they die with dignity in physician

According to an article from CNN.com, there are currently five states in the U.S. where physician

months or less to live. In the states of Oregon, California, Vermont, Washington and Montana a
physician can prescribe medications to move along the death without being prosecuted for murder.

Research Paper On Muscle Cramps
Overview
Muscles normally contract and relax numerous times throughout the day as we move around. When a
muscle or group of muscles forcibly and involuntarily contracts, it is called a spasm. If the spasm lasts
for a period of time without returning to its relaxed state, it then becomes a cramp. Cramps are thought
to be caused by over stimulated muscle nerves, which could be the result of any number of factors
injury, vitamin deficiency, dehydration, too much rest, medications, etc.
Muscle cramps are very common, as almost everyone will experience them at some point in their life.
They become more frequent as a person ages, but children also encounter them. Cramps may last only

Reflection Paper On Sonography
Have you ever imagined an experience would turn out a certain way, only to have it completely
surprise you? That is exactly what happened to me when I arrived at Genesis Hospital for my
observation in imaging with a sonographer. While I was expecting a certain scenario for that
experience, I was soon brought to the realization you truly cannot predict any situation you have never
encountered before. I was very excited to have the opportunity to observe the career I am planning on
having; however, that excitement turned into surprise as I gained a valuable experience.
After being informed our next paper due would be based on an observation, I started making calls to
hospitals in the area I live. I was happy to receive a call back from one of them stating I would be
allowed to observe an ultrasound technician. I was very excited as I thought it was fantastic I would
have the opportunity to observe a professional in the field I will be majoring in. The evening before
my observation I was anxious, imagining what I was going to experience the following day. Excited, I
tried my best to sleep while anticipating what I was going to encounter the next afternoon.
Dressed in scrubs and excited to begin, I arrived at the hospital around noon. With an eager smile
pasted on my face, I informed the receptionist in the imaging department that I was there for a
scheduled observation. Happy to assist me, she asked me to follow her to one of the occupied rooms.

A New Picture Archiving Communications Systems ( Pacs )...
Challenge the Vendor As a member of an organization acquiring a new Picture Archiving
Communications Systems (PACS) software, it is imperative to make certain of several vendor
challenges that sales representatives won t address in depth. With PACS applications there are
continuous challenges because of the complexity and constant evolving technology in the Imaging
sector of health care. Particularly, there are three encounters which I will address that a PACS vendor
may not identify the imperfections of their application. Primarily integration capabilities are huge to
countless in Imaging, as most PACS software s struggle to be well matched with the Radiology
Information System or the Health Information System. It is essential for the PACS application being
purchased have a platform that is compatible with the software s already within the organization in
order for the workflow to be efficient. Another topic vendors tend to breeze over are downtimes and
how often they may occur. Although downtimes shouldn t occur frequently the departments need to be
established and up to date on downtime scenarios, which the vendor should provide support for 24/7.
In addition the vendor should have solutions in order to make sure the departments are fully functional
even during a downtime scenario. Lastly, interoperability concerns are a major factor as healthcare
enhances and is improving. Imaging plays the center role to a patient s continuous care and better
outcomes. Configurations

William Blake Essay example
William Blake William Blake was born in 1757, the third son of a London hosier. Blake lived in or
near to London, a city which dominates much of his work, whether as the nightmare London of the
Songs of Experience, or the London which Blake saw as the New Jerusalem , the kingdom of God on
earth. As the son of a hosier, a generally lower middle class occupation in late eighteenth century
London, he was brought up in a poor household, a preparation for the relative poverty in which he
would live for most of his life. He also received little formal schooling, which is all the more

  • 3. Renewing the Mind Renewing the Mind I attempt to speak from personal experience as much as possible in addition to citing the opinions and facts of others, let me begin by stating that probably the most harmful pattern of the world is the judgment of others. It is true and I have witnessed firsthand the self esteem of many being cut down to mere nothingness by the judgment of others. Is it a crime to look different, talk different or be unique in our own special way? Through my examination of the New Age belief system I believe many in society see themselves as being the Lord of their own universe (Sire, 2009, p. 179) and I wonder does this flawed thinking lead to an overinflated ego and the harmful judgment of others? The world without doubt is an irrational and super rational place in the universe which produces stoned thinking (Sire, 2009, p. 180) people. With this thought in mind it is very easily to see how the harmful judgment of others becomes the social order of the day. New Age thinking has also crept into Christianity long before it was even thought of, namely Roman Catholicism. For years I have struggled with the concept of papal infallibility and the pope being seen as equivalent to God himself when speaking ex cathedra (Houdmann, n.d., para. 1). I have also wrestled with the dogmatic principles, traditions, and the Church s judgment of other faiths and even its own pilgrims in relation to human rights and God s own natural law. The Catholic Church is not all bad, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Serfdom In Imperial Russia Imperial Russia from its conception, has not been an economic or agricultural power house. Often enough the majority of Imperial Russia s population lived well below the poverty line and struggled to get by while the rich lined their pockets. This economic inequality became possible through serfdom. The emancipation of serfs in Imperial Russia has been greatly scrutinized for its ineffectiveness in promptly bringing about this change. However, ultimately the biggest question is how important were serfs to the economic ability of Russia and whether or not their emancipation was a positive economic force or negative. If you look at the overall effects especially in the long term, it is easy to see that serfdom was an incredibly large part of the Russian economy, and the emancipation of serfs was a positive change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the very beginning of recorded history to up until near modern times, there has been a systematic exploitation of human labor. This exploitation primarily occurred in two ways: serfdom and slavery. Most people are familiar with slavery as it was the more common practice especially in North America post colonization. However, the more common practice throughout Europa and Asia was serfdom. A slave is somebody who s life has essentially been purchased, their body was given a numerical value and somebody bought it. Slaves are physical property of their owner much like a book or a house. A serf on the other hand is similar in functionality but different in its basic definition. A serf is someone who is tied to the land. What that means is that the serf has to follow every command of whoever owns the land that the serf is tied to. In return the serf also obtains a small piece of land barely enough to sustain him/her. This is the most basic foundation of feudalism. Serfs are the lowest and most populous class that is exploited for their physical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Introduction Of Louis Vuitton Malletier Louis Vuitton Malletier, most commonly referred to as Louis Vuitton, was established in 1854 by Louis Vuitton, who pursued his impetuous passion for the fashion industry by constructing his own luxury fashion retail company. Louis Vuitton, who was only 10 when his mother passed away, decided to leave his home at the age of 13, alone and on foot, bound for Paris. He traveled for more than two years, taking odd jobs to feed himself along the way and staying wherever he could find shelter, as he walked the 292 mile trek from his native Anchay to Paris. He arrived in 1837, at the age of 16. After arriving, Louis noticed the wide spread poverty, but what really peaked his interest was how Paris was being transformed by the industrial revolution. Vuitton met a successful box maker and packer named Monsieur Marechal, who took Louis on as an apprentice to his craft. In 19th century Europe, box making and packing was a highly respectable and urbane craft. A box maker and packer custom made all boxes to fit the goods they stored and they personally loaded and unloaded the boxes. It took Vuitton only a few years to stake out a reputation amongst Paris s fashionable class as one of the city s premier practitioners of his new craft. In 1854 at age 33, Vuitton married 17 year old Clemence Emilie Parriaux. Soon after the marriage, he left Marechal s shop, and inaugurated his own workshop of box making and packing in Paris. Outside the shop a sign hung reading Securely packs the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On a personal level, it was a low point, because I was going through a depression. That was a difficult time for me. At the same time it was my highest point, because I overcame the depression by talking about the crossroads I was at. (Billboard: Q A: Janet Jackson Still in Control) Despite the mass recognition, countless awards, and top album sales, Janet was unhappy and dealing with a lot of childhood and teenage trauma that resurfaced after making the Velvet Rope album. As a child, Janet had to learn very quickly that her job was to entertain, please everyone, and to never show her weaknesses. Learning those values very early on caused a number of issues that bled over into her adulthood that affected her self esteem, confidence, and relationship with others. Having had two secret failed marriages before the age of 30, Janet found herself searching for the answers on why her luck in love was so bad. While assessing her relationship issues, she later realized that the violent control from her father, teasing from her siblings and people in the entertainment business about her weight, and never having a normal childhood caused her to go in a deep depression that could have easily led her down the wrong ... The article Lewis and Clark: Into the Unknown tells the story of Lewis and Clark s journey: how they survived the harsh weather and what they discovered. Lewis and Clark: Revisited tells how a modern group of adventures reenacted Lewis and Clark s escapade. There were many similarities in the reenactors and Lewis and Clark s trek. For example, both the Corps of Discovery and the reenactors encountered Native Americans, some friendly and helpful, others not as cooperative. Despite these similarities, there are multiple differences in the adventurers expeditions, such as the food they ate and the equipment they used. The reenactors used a boat with an attached motor, while Meriwether Lewis used a keelboat to explore. The ways that the Corps of Discovery explored can be compared and contrasted to the ways that the reenactors of the Discovery Expedition journeyed. From clothing to encounters, there are multiple similarities in the reenactors and Lewis and Clark s journey. For instance, both expeditions had help from Native Americans. In Lewis and ... • 8. America History Teach Us About The Dangers Of Racism What does this episode in US history teach us about the dangers of racism? I think this period in history aptly depicts racism as a very sad, narrow minded, damaging, and ugly mentality. Anyone who has ever been a target of anything gossip, slander, teasing or felt isolated, ostracized, friendless, misunderstood or misjudged should have a heart for and the ability to empathize with other people. Sadly, while this episode in history (and many others) clearly demonstrates the dangers and horrors of racism, there are still many who choose to embrace the warped mentality from which it springs. History has shown us this repeatedly. Personally, I cannot comprehend such a perspective, as it has no basis in any kind of rational, reasonable, logical principle or ideal. But then, I was always the scrawny kid that stood up for the underdog and fought off bullies, even if they were twice my size and I ended up being the one that took a beating. To me, racism represents a corrupted mentality; a level of arrogance, entitlement, and repackaged, relabeled bullying that is heartbreaking and deplorable. And it is not just Caucasians who have throughout history fallen prey to the ugly tentacles of racism. Beneath the surface, almost every nation, even otherwise very hospitable Asian nations, have some racist views of another nation or nations which they perceive as worse than them. Hopefully, humanity will eventually learn from history, and we can once and for all end the vicious cycle of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The destination of her personal quest, and the quest of the symphony at large, is a small post apocalyptic settlement called St. Deborah by the Water. • 13. Farenheit 451 and Today s Society, an Analogy Dorothea Brande said, There are seeds of self destruction in all of us that will bear only unhappiness if allowed to grow. Today s society is mainly focused on technology, in being approved by others, and other things that without doubt lead it to destruction and failure. Most people in our society think of themselves as happy, yet it is the complete opposite. Humans these days are simply miserable and torn between work, technology and many other things that separate them from true happiness. Too much technology has consumed people s brains and most of the times makes them lose the capability to think for themselves, communicate with others and it also leads to laziness. The lack of family relationship and communication has ruined most families and has redefined the traditions and the meaning of a family. Too much conformity has redefined what is acceptable for people to do and not do just to be accepted. Just like the society in Fahrenheit 451, today s society is equally self destructive. Exactly like the novel, our society has focused too much on technology. Technology has affected the way our society is educated and learns. • 16. The Government Is A System Of The Dual Federalism Federalism has numerous levels of government in which each of them have their own self governing authority over some of the policy areas. It helps in balancing the power between the national and subunit governments. Various forms of the government are being observed internationally, including the confederation and unitary government. The Confederal government was the very first form of government the United States had that is held under the Articles of Confederation; in which the states hold the authority over a limited national government. The most common form of government throughout the world is the unitary government in which the national and centralized government holds the ultimate authority. If there was no form of federal government, each individual state would face problems that may affect multiple states. This would lead a central government to come up with a mutual solution that would be beneficial to all the states across the nation or to the ones that need it most. Some scholars believe that the American government is a system of the dual federalism. This simply means that the national and state governments have control over unique spheres of policy. Others believe it to be a shared or cooperative federalism in which means that both the governments work together in all areas of the policy, or supply their services to the citizens. Stereotypically, women are seen as dainty, elegant people that cannot stand up in an authority position over the gigantic football brutes. Likewise, it is awkward for a female athletic trainer to demonstrate her power over the coach. If the athletic trainer believes that the team needs a water break, it is his or her obligation to inform the coach, and sometimes it can get pretty dicey between the athletic trainer and the coach. • 28. The Impossibility Of Perfection In Hawthorne s The... Throughout Hawthorne s The Birthmark , the impossibility of perfection in this world, and yet how close to perfection Georgiana is, is a recurring theme, especially in this passage. There is no way to be human and yet so perfect in such an imperfect world. Therefore, she is an angel, sent down from the heavens to find a pure human who could love not for beauty, but unconditionally, and prove the worth of humanity. It is impossible to be truly perfect on this world, and human lives are finite. It is the fatal flaw of humanity. Here it is made clear that Georgiana is more than human, for she is described as being almost absolutely perfect, if it were not for the mark on her cheek. A mark, which Aylmer might have felt his affection heightened by the prettiness of this mimic hand, stating that even her fatal flaw is beautiful. If she were human, she could not be so perfect. Before Aylmer became obsessed with her birthmark, she was extremely happy. She loved everything, and found beauty in most everything as well. No human can truly be so optimistic, no matter how they may seem. However, once Aylmer started to shame her and tear down her self esteem over the small mark on her cheek, which could have been beautiful, Georgiana became depressed. Despite this, she still tried to see the beauty in everything, looking through the eyes of an angel at a world she only knew from afar. Aylmer is afraid of Georgiana s birthmark in this passage, and of what it symbolizes. He sees it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Accountability in Nursing Introduction Responsibility is defined as the reliability, dependability, and the obligation to accomplish work , responsibility also includes each person s obligation to perform at an acceptable level, the level that the person has been educated (Kelly Heidenthal, 2003, p. 268). Accountability is defined as, being responsible and liable for actions or failure of actions of oneself or others in the context of delegation (NCSBN, 2009). This is in reference to the nurse s legal liability for the actions taken and patient outcomes. Accountability and responsibility are different, as responsibility belongs to the person doing the task and accountability belongs to the person who assigned the task. The nurse is both accountable for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is the legal liability the practitioner owes to the patient. By accepting the responsibility to perform a task the practitioner must ensure the task is performed competently at least to the standard of the ordinarily competent practitioner in that type of task. If a practitioner such as a registered nurse should delegate a task, then that practitioner must be sure that the delegation is appropriate. This means that the task must be necessary; and the person performing the delegated task, for example a HCA, must understand the task and how it is performed, have the skills and abilities to perform the task competently and accept responsibility for carrying it out One common mistakes exhibited by professionals in the field is delegation of duties by persons. Nurses should be wary of delegating duties to health care assistant because nurses should be aware of the abilities of the person with whom he or she is delegating duties. This is to minimize any chance of poor service delivery. Poor patient attendance by a person tasked with the duty at the time of delivery will extend the liability to the nurse delegating duties. Accountability of nurses is clearly pinpointed and well within the realm of law. A nurse is accountable to all the patients he or she is expected to attend to. Such accountability as underlined by common law helps promote safety of all patients. Accountability to the profession is one other important aspect that provides an ... Ovid s Metamorphoses Sexuality When one becomes familiar with mythology through Ovid s Metamorphoses, a collection of preexisting myths, strung together with the unifying theme of metamorphosis and divine intervention, a new language of allusions is discovered. This is used by Christopher Marlowe to better express the themes of beauty and sexuality through an Ovidian aesthetic in his epyllion, Hero and Leander. • 31. Clavichord Research Paper The pipe organ, clavichord, and harpsichord are considered as the earliest keyboard instrument. The hydraulis organ is the oldest kind of pipe organ, appearing in the third century BC. It was not a keyboard in the modern sense. From its invention until the 14th century, the organ remained the only keyboard instrument. Clavichord and the harpsichord appeared during the 14th century. The clavichord probably appeared earlier than the harpsichord. The harpsichord and clavichord were both common until the appearance of the piano in the 18th century, after which their popularity decreased. The Clavichord is a European stringed keyboard instrument known from the late Medieval, through the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical eras. The Clavichord was mostly used as a practice instrument and as an instrument for composition, because the instrument itself was not loud enough for larger performance. The clavichord produces sound by striking brass or iron strings with small metal blades called tangents. It allowed the strings to continue vibrating as long as the key was depressed. Thus, players had more control over the volume of their instrument. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Towards the end of the historical period larger and more elaborate Italian instruments were built, notably by Bartolomeo Cristofori, who later invented the piano. Challenge the Vendor As a member of an organization acquiring a new Picture Archiving Communications Systems (PACS) software, it is imperative to make certain of several vendor challenges that sales representatives won t address in depth. With PACS applications there are continuous challenges because of the complexity and constant evolving technology in the Imaging sector of health care. Particularly, there are three encounters which I will address that a PACS vendor may not identify the imperfections of their application. Primarily integration capabilities are huge to countless in Imaging, as most PACS software s struggle to be well matched with the Radiology Information System or the Health Information System. It is essential for the PACS application being purchased have a platform that is compatible with the software s already within the organization in order for the workflow to be efficient. Another topic vendors tend to breeze over are downtimes and how often they may occur. Although downtimes shouldn t occur frequently the departments need to be established and up to date on downtime scenarios, which the vendor should provide support for 24/7. In addition the vendor should have solutions in order to make sure the departments are fully functional even during a downtime scenario. Lastly, interoperability concerns are a major factor as healthcare enhances and is improving. Imaging plays the center role to a patient s continuous care and better outcomes. Configurations ... Blake lived in or near to London, a city which dominates much of his work, whether as the nightmare London of the Songs of Experience, or the London which Blake saw as the New Jerusalem , the kingdom of God on earth. As the son of a hosier, a generally lower middle class occupation in late eighteenth century London, he was brought up in a poor household, a preparation for the relative poverty in which he would live for most of his life. He also received little formal schooling, which is all the more remarkable given both the depth and range of his reading of the Bible, of Milton and Greek and Latin classic literature, evident throughout his ...
