Examples Of The Affiliate Model
2.4.4.4. The Affiliate Model
This model consists in selling product(s) or service(s) not created by the company, generating revenue
through a commission. To give some examples to understand how the model works: Airbnb the
company which connects customers and providers of places in different cities worldwide, doesn t sell
any product or service, their business consists in connecting people and getting a commission for the
usage of their website to enable this relation. Skyscanner gives the customer multiple options to book
an airplane ticket from different Airlines, so basically they don t have an own product/service although
they do work based on commissions with the airlines to promote and display their ticket prices for
specific destinations.
The idea would be to charge a commission value for each sale (cost per acquisition), as a broker (as
Ebay does) or charge per click (as Skyscanner does). When the cost per acquisition is used, the
company charges when a user buys directly following the advertisement place in the webpage, at the
same time pay per click charges the company each time a potential ... Show more content on

The app store application model
The idea behind the app store application model is to offer content exclusively for smartphones and
tablets, this content is commonly known as an application (App). The news are filled with successful
cases of this model application like the artillery combat game developed by Ethan Nicholas, which
gathered $600.000 in one month making its way to the first place in the ranking in the App Store.
Other companies had become rich with the app model leading to a digital boom in the related industry.
(Rickman, 2012).
Although most of the apps are usually associated with games, the apps world offers a wide variety of
apps that suit several different functions, like the particular example of the app created by the Japanese
company Sea s Garden which is able to keep mosquitoes away with a produced high frequency sound.

Animal Cruelty, By Walt Disney
Waking up hours before the dawn, and to know the utter silence of a late autumn morning. Hearing the
crunch of snow under your boots as you begin the hike into the distant, silent mountains. Smelling the
pines along the trail, and see the silent sentinel spruces on the ridge, barely glimpsed in the pre dawn
dark. It s enough to sit, shivering, at the best spot on the top rim of a remote basin, watching the east
grow bright, waiting for the first rays of warm sunshine to break through the trees and drive away the
bitter cold of night. Although some people think that hunting is animal cruelty, I believe that hunting is
crucial to maintain the balance of animal population before they become over populated. Hunting in
general is a broad topic so, I will be using deer as the main point.
Walt Disney has had a hand in how hunters are portrayed. Bambi, released in 1942, portrayed hunters
as heartless people, killing Bambi s mother and leaving the fawn to learn to survive. Disney also came
out with a television show based on Davy Crockett s life. The series celebrated Crockett s ability as a
hunter and resulted in a children s fad of wearing coonskin caps and carrying toy Crockett buffalo
rifles. Disney has used movies to make us see both sides. In 1980, People for the Ethical Treatment of
Animals (PETA) was formed; its slogan was, Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use
for entertainment. Hunting has been a very controversial topic for many years and

The Attachment Of Monkeys
Attachment is defined in the book as a close emotional bond between two people, they focus on the
bonds between parents and children, as well as, bonds between intimate couples. There are numerous
theories on why children become attached to their parents. For instance, Freud believed that the
attachment was attributed to the oral satisfaction of being fed. However, Harry Harlow conducted an
experiment with monkeys that showed the infant monkeys sought out a clothed mother over a wire
mother which indicated that their attachment was driven from security and comfort more than just
being fed since both fed the monkeys. Erikson seemed to agree with Harlow since his first phase
includes comfort from parents being essential in building trust.

Jurassic Park Book Vs Movie Essay
Jurassic Park
If you have ever seen Jurassic park, you understand it takes place on Isla Nublar, an island of the coast
of Costa Rica. Dr. Alan Grant a paleontologist is accompanied by Dr Ellie Sattler and many others that
have been invited by John Hammond, a billionaire who is the owner of InGen and financial supporter
of Grants research, to inspect the island. Once they are there, they discover Hammond has turned the
island into a zoo named Jurassic Park filled with genetically cloned dinosaurs. The differences between
the film and the novel follows:
Both the novel and the film include the same main characters but he is portrayed differently in the
film. Dr Alan Grant is the main protagonist in both the film and novel but unlike the film, in the novel
he likes children much like the ones that accompany them to the zoo like Tim and Lex. In the novel,
his lack of knowledge of not realizing that T rex vision is based on movement is not evident in the
film. Grant is portrayed as an Indiana Jones as well being a widower. In the film, he is in a relationship
with Ellie and dislikes children but being very knowledgeable on dinosaurs serving him and others.

Ephemeral Euphoria Short Story
Ephemeral Euphoria
Life was joyous, for the boy had not yet met with any calamities. The buoyancy in his happiness
reflected his upbringing; slightly spoiled, yet well mannered. It was the boy s eighth birthday; another
year full of delight, but this year, his parents had intended to surprise him. As a collective, both the
boy s parents as well as most of his friends had decided to take the boy to an amusement park, as a
sort of pre party for his birthday party. They had planned to gather up parade balloons; giant elephants,
giraffes and even rhinos, stuffing them with glitter and candy, then popping them, creating an
abundant array of colours within the sky; one that would mimic a rainbow.
After months of careful planning and consideration, the day had finally arrived; the happiest day of a
boy s life. Having overheard his parents grand scheme, the boy had already begun to sing Happy
Birthday ; skipping along, he had sung the song to everyone. As per usual, he had been sent to school,
though on the day of his birthday, the boy had never reached his destination.
While gracefully skipping his way to school, he had been kidnapped and tossed into a van. Neither
frightened nor scared, he had remained calm as through a slight slit in the bag over his head, the
amusement park was in sight; his eyes sparkled with merriment. The van came to a sudden halt, and as
the doors opened, a blinding light had pierced through the slight slit in the bag that he had been
peeking from;

Parable Of The Sower Analysis
The Dangers and Fear of Change in Parable of the Sower Many times, individuals may possess a fear
of changes occurring within their life, even though it is known that change is inevitable and cannot be
avoided. No matter the situation, change will always occur whether an individual is ready for it or not.
In Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler, Lauren Olamina accepts the changes that occur within
her life and the world around her, although sometimes after feelings of doubt and hesitation. Through
the creation of her religion, Earthseed, Lauren was able to embrace change and recognize that change
will happen whether she wants it to or not. Although change itself is not negative, there may be
negative affects to circumstances changing in an individual s life. Critics Peter G. Stillman, Stephen
W. Potts, Mathias Nilges, and Sarah Outterson argue that change is necessary within Lauren s world,
but the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world around Lauren differs greatly from the way her father grew up. Cory, Lauren s step mother,
frequently discusses the way life used to be in the past and how different life is now, telling Lauren

longing for the past demonstrates that although change is necessary in life, not every change that
occurs is positive. Long gone are the days where people were happy, safe, and did not have to worry
about protecting themselves. When learning about the past, Lauren calls it crazy to think about living
in a world without walls around her to protect her and her family (Butler 10). Critic Sarah Outterson
argues that change is necessary within Robledo, but this change is violent because it must break
through the wall that surrounds Lauren s community (Outterson

I do recommend the yield of this study and the satisfaction that the employee had, but I do prefer to
include the marital status of the employees. Moreover, nurse manager needed to be more restricts with
those who did not follow the schedules. However, researchers should have asked those freaking nurses
about their impression in order to know the reasons. Reasons might be some thing between them and
the nurse manager which could be handled easily by third party.
Agreement OR disagreement
The study was implemented only in one unit that consists of high numbers of nurses. However, I
would have preferred to run this study in two different units in order to have precise result, and
compare the data from both units.
Self scheduling did not work for everyone and there were some nurses wanted to ruin it for every one.
I would have preferred that these observation or opinions were held with those nurses who were not
abeyance to the self scheduling study. There could be social problems, work problems or even there
might be no harmony between them and their manager.
Another point, I noted that the sick calls remained steady and did not change. In my opinion, there
should have been decreased sick calls but the study did not indicate clearly about the reasons for sick
calls. Thus couple things come in my mind, did sick calls come from the same staff for the previous
years? Did they have social problems or were seasonal sick

Taking Risks And Trying New Things
Taking risks and trying new things is a thrilling moment for me. I can usually pride myself on being
adventurous when it comes to trying new food. Either trying a type of cuisine foreign to me or
choosing a new restaurant, I can always say that I will try anything at least once. If it is a dish in a
restaurant I have never tried before, or something that a family member or friend made, I always think
that nothing is so appalling that one bite may kill me. It is an exciting time for me, as I might find a
new food type that I had never heard of before that will end up becoming a new favorite.
Sushi restaurants have been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. Japanese cuisine is one
of my favorites and I cherish every time I get to enjoy a meal at an authentic sushi restaurant. I have
always loved the varied aspects of Japanese cuisine, the fresh raw fish, the unique sushi rolls, and the
many enticing side dishes. I am always willing to try anything and never seem to find a single dish at a
sushi restaurant that I am not fond of. When I moved to Riverside, my family began visiting this one
all you can eat sushi restaurant. It was a great environment and an exciting dining experience as you
can order and try anything on the menu. This particular sushi restaurant became a fast favorite of
mine.
One evening however, I would be tested on just how willing I was to trying something strange and
new. On my way to the restaurant with my family, we were all eager for a

Fine Dining Restaurants Decline in Sales
Fine Dining Decline in Sales
Fine dining restaurants are full service restaurants with an upscale menu and extensive beverage
offerings. The restaurants generally have a more sophisticated décor and ambiance, the wait staff is
usually highly trained and often wars more formal attire, and there is often a dress code for patrons
(Trends in Fine Dining). Economic downturn caused high end restaurants decline in sales and even
going out of businesses. During the recession period, restaurant operators are facing challenge of food
price inflation and consumer s preference change. Consumers want less tradition, relaxed and less
expensive restaurants. Fine dining become unaffordable to most people during the downturn. Also,
food price inflation are tighten their budget and operators are trying to balance the cost while
generating profit. On the other hand, income stay leveled and did not competing with inflation.
Consumers still want good food and services but they are seeking for place they feel connected,
comfortable, quick services and affordable price. Fine dining restaurants become a luxury and not
affordable to some consumers; operators are facing challenges to attract and retain their consumers.
The economic downturn started in 2008 to 2009, according to Hudson Riehle, an economist for the
National Restaurant Association, this is the most challenging period for restaurant operators since
1991. In a recent NRA survey, 53% of restaurant owners cited either the faltering

Analysis Of The Dogs Could Teach Me By Gary Paulsen
(T) Out of the three stories, The Dogs Could Teach Me, The Sniper, and The Flowers, The Dogs Could
Teach Me by Gary Paulsen best demonstrates description. (I #1) This is so because Paulsen
consistently describes situations, feelings, and scenery throughout the entire story unlike The Sniper.
(Q E #1) Paulsen begins The Dogs Could Teach Me by writing, There was a point where an old
logging trail went through a small, sharp sided gully a tiny canyon...It might have been a game trail
that was slightly widened or an old foot trail that had not caved in. Likewise, Liam O Flaherty starts
out The Sniper by writing, Dublin lay enveloped in darkness but for the dim light of the moon that
shone through fleecy clouds, casting a pale light as of approaching dawn over the streets... However,
by the third paragraph of The Dogs Could Teach Me Paulsen continues the same pattern of writing
saying, Later I saw the beauty of it, the falling lobes of blue ice that had grown as the water froze and
refroze, layering on itself, while O Flaherty scrivens, He was eating a sandwich hungrily. He had eaten
nothing since morning. He had been too excited to eat, by the third paragraph. (A #1) Even though the
very beginning of The Sniper was much like the very beginning of The Dogs Could Teach Me, in the
sense that both of the authors started out with very strong descriptions, Paulsen s portrayals end up
turning out more powerful because of how consistent they are. Between

Music is everywhere in life, and we use it in our everyday lives. Music is even found in stories too, to
help understand more about the characters. For instance, in the book, The Hobbit, the dwarves, elves,
and goblins even sing, and they use their very own kind of tone, content, and structure to describe
more about them. For instance, the dwarves have an adventurous side when they are singing because
that s how their personalities are, the elves have their own kind of tone, structure, and content when
they are singing because their songs are happy, and the goblins have their own mean tone, content, and

Summary Of The Film Irobot
Underneath the sound effects, costumes and out of world context, films of science fiction frequently
contain hypothetical implications that mimic modern society in the way that artificial and biological
life communicate. The film IRobot (2004) directed by Alex Proyas, leads readers through the year
2035 where humans and robots life side by side, until detective Del Spooner discovers a conspiracy
that may enslave the human race. IRobot comments on the notion that, Art Imitates Life by using film
codes, such as camera shots and colour to identify the importance of the unification of artificial and
biological intelligence, and that humankind s quest to evolve can lead to a lack of individuality.
Symbolic and audio codes reveal that technological and human power can be a corrupting force in
both the fictional world and modern society. IRobot encourages viewers to take the messages about
technological danger and look at our own current society to question these controversial issues.
Humans have always been ambitious, willing to create the new and impossible, yet this has caused
humankind itself to lose the spark that is their own individuality. Through symbolic and audio codes,
IRobot portrays the signification of independence and the blurred identity of our present time. IRobot
displays the exaggerated lack of character that is making society to become followers rather than
leaders. At the orientation of the film, viewers see a long shot of Del Spooner walking through the

Power And Authority In Tang Dynasty
The definition of power is the ability to direct or influence the behavior of others. Literature is one of
the major mediums used to influence a person. One common medium that determines if the writing
has power to influence the behaviors of others is the literary skill of the author. During the Tang
Dynasty in China, there were many imperial pieces on politics matter that had power and authority to
influence people. Writers such as Ban Zhao and Han Yu BaiJuyi successfully wrote many pieces that
had much influence and impact over their intended audience. Literary skill contributes to the writer s
power and authority due to their ability to evoke an emotional response from their chosen audience or
to influence their response.

In many of Han Yu BaiJuyi s poems during the Tang dynasty, his use of contrast highlights the
constant theme of the suffering of the common people at the hands of the wealthier tier. He is well
educated in this issue due to the fact that he was the son of a minor official, but the family was poor.
He uses the poem format, which was mainly an aristocratic medium of art and knowledge, to address
how poor the common people are. Han Yu BaiJuyi writes about the class differences during the Tang
dynasty and addresses the common and wealthy lifestyles. In his poem Light and Sleek , he writes
After sweet Tung t ing Lake oranges and mince fish from a lake of heaven, they ve eaten to their
hearts content, and happily drunk, their spirits swell. There s drought south of the Yangtze: in Ch ii
chou, people are eating people (Hinton, 273). In this poem, Han Yu BaiJuyi begins the story with rich
and vivid imagery by using words such as sweet and lake of heaven . He, then, ends with this stark
contrast to the rich comforting vibe by not using vivid adjectives and just stating that the people were
just eating each other due of the lack of food. This depicts that he is aware of the lifestyle differences
and that there is an issue with the wealthy having an abundance of materials while the poor do not
have enough necessities to

What Did The Muslim Brotherhood Moderate From The 1980 S...
In early 2011 the world watched as Egypt s youth revolted against their abusive president, Muhammed
Hosni El Sayed Mubarak. This revolution sparked much political and social debate around the world,
about what was next for the Egyptians. With the ousting of Mubarak, the Muslim Brotherhood saw it s
chance to run for political power and therefore began their campaign. Before looking at the Muslim
Brotherhood s role in the 2011 Revolution and the elections that would follow, their moderation as an
Islamist organization must be examined. In order to do so, this paper will examine to what extent did
the Muslim Brotherhood Moderate from the 1980 s 2000 s? In Jillian Schwedler s article, Faith in
Moderation: Islamist Parties in Jordan and Yemen, she explains moderation as, when a movement
moves from a closed and rigid worldview to one that is more open and tolerant of alternative
perspectives and encounters ideological change (Schwedler 3). Although throughout her analysis she
discusses the inclusion moderation hypothesis, I will not be integrating this into my paper. I will argue
that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt moderated between the 1980 s 2000 s because of their
evolution of ideologies on minority religious groups, women and the diversification of issues. I will be
doing this by discussing their moderation on minority religious groups, women, and the diversification
of issues within the state. The religious group I will be focusing on is the Copts, or Coptic Christians.

Capital Punishment And The Death Penalty Essay
Capital punishment, or the death penalty, is the lawful infliction of death as a punishment.
(thefreedictionary.com). The topic is quite controversial, as its merits and effectiveness as a deterrent
for crime have been argued many times over. However, the death penalty is perfectly within reason, as
it rids the streets of criminals that have committed serious crimes and is also cheaper for the
government versus giving life sentences. Even so, there are many who are against the death penalty.
One such argument that has been made is that the death penalty is barbaric because many innocents
have been sent to their deaths. Although this would be true if these opposers lived before 1986, that is
not the case in today s world because there is access to DNA tests and profiling. According to
www.interpol.int, Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecules contain the information all living cells in
the human body need to function. They also control the inheritance of characteristics from parents to
offspring. (interpol.int). DNA profiling play important roles in crimes as it has the potential to link a
series of crimes and to place a suspect at the scene of a crime. Not only that, but also DNA can help to
prove a suspect s innocence. With DNA testing, no innocent person will die from the death penalty
simply because DNA tests can be used as concrete evidence to prove the suspect s innocence.
To start off, one should know what exactly DNA profiling is and its use for prosecution.

Infant s Cognitive Development
An amazing experience to witness is the development and growth of a child. As they grow and learn,
you see them explore the world and all the things we have become accustomed too. While all children
grow differently, they all experience and go through the same stages; physical, cognitive, and socio
emotional development.
One of the first noticeable factors associated with the growth of an infant is how they develop
physically. Physical development involves the physical changes that take place with an infant; this
involves their facial features, which begin to take definition, and they begin to grow in length, and
weight. Naturally, infants are born with reflexes or natural body responses such as, sucking, blinking,
awareness, and grasping. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Love, support, and care are essential to a child brain to develop efficiently, a parent or giver must
provide constant interaction and attention. Cognitive development involves the way infants think,
perceive things, solve problems, and begin to understand the world around them. Imitation is a perfect
combination of both cognitive and socio emotional development; this is a way infants learn. As
caregivers interact with their infant and begin to express emotions, the infant will copy what they see
their caregiver do. Interaction like this plays a role in your infant s brain development. The
sensorimotor stage incorporates senses (sight, hearing, tasting, and feeling) with physical actions. An
infant becomes interested in bright colors, or movement, and begins to respond to an action such as a
smiling caregiver. This concept is similar to joint attention, when a caregiver points to an object, and
the infant becomes aware of it. While, these concepts are based on cognitive development, socio
emotional development also plays an important role. Object permanence is a mixture of both cognitive
and physical development. We know object permanence to be when an infant understands that an
object exists even though the object is not in sight. This concept is in close relation with physical
development, because object permanence involves the senses, which play a large role in physical

Fair Value Accounting And Intangible Assets
Fair Value Accounting and Intangible Assets
The considerable debate on the advantages and disadvantages of moving towards a full mark to
market accounting system for financial institutions has been triggered by the move of the International
Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to
make changes in this direction as part of an attempt to globalize accounting standards. Both fair value
accounting and historical cost accounting have their advantages and drawbacks and therefore it is hard
to conclude which system is superior to the other. Within the accounting systems, the valuation of
intangible assets has been a constant source of attention by the board as well. This essay summarizes
the superiority of fair value accounting in measuring value of certain assets and liabilities including
intangible assets in light of the IASB discussion paper released recently.
According to Rodríguez Pérez et al (2011) the debate between the choice of Fair value and Historical
cost accounting essentially takes root from the debate of relevance and reliability. The IASB
Framework defines relevancy as when information influences the economic decisions of users by
helping them evaluate past, present or future events or confirming, or correcting, their past
evaluations. Reliability as defined by the IASB framework is when information is faithfully
represented, prudent, it contains substance over form, it is neutral, and complete. Even though both

Chile s education system is highly regarded among the Latin American countries. The education cycle
is eight years of free basic education, four years of optional secondary school, and an additional four
to eight years of higher education. Private schools in Chile have high enrollment and are run by
religious congregations. These private schools tailor to the higher class and more affluent families.

conflicts forced the indigenous peoples to form small groups and learn to rely on each other. The most

Challenges And Impacts Of Robots
Manufacturing After watching these three videos, it really opens your eyes to how big these
companies and manufactures really are. I was blown away by the factory in China, that people were
raised to go to the factories school, to learn how to make iron s, expresso machine, and electric grills.
Q: Are robots the answer to run a shop in the United States to keep costs down? I am on the fence with
this question. I am back and forth because it would make sense to have AI s and robots of the sorts
taking jobs in the United State, mainly because they are cheaper and sometimes easier to deal with.
We would be cutting costs without human error, and would be cutting costs with salary wages. There
are so many factories in America that use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Q: What is your opinion on living and working in a city essentially designed just for that? Watching
the Made in China: Factory of the World ; that really opened my eyes. I knew that Nike has/had
sweatshops in Asia where they would make they re workers work for very low wages in terrible
conditions, but I never really thought about all the products that are made in china were made like this.
To me, I sort of see it as slavery almost. That would be a horrible life to grow up and know what you
must do with your life, to get by. It would be a rough life, to do one job for the rest of your life, just so
repetitive. I like new things, new routes, new people, because it keeps me in tune with the things going
on around me. Q: Is Walmart a good business model? Where will they be in 5 years I think Walmart
has a very bad code of ethics, and they all about the money. They need to step up and join UNI, to
have better and more safe manufacturing building with safer warehouses. They should put their
employees at such a risk, and they should set a higher pay for all their employees. They make enough
money to fix these problems, so, why don t they? I think if Walmart keep acting so selfish, people
around the world will start to notice and act anyway they can and will eventually really start to ruin
the Walmart reputation and they will go downhill. Q: What will unionizing Walmart do to the pricing

The Trojan Women ( 1971 )
The movie The Trojan Women (1971) is a successful and compelling contemporary adaption of the
tragedy The Trojan Women, written by Euripides. Overall, the film follows the whole plot very well
and depicts the main characters of Euripides work expressly, especially characters like Cassandra,
Andromache, and Helen. Although the director of the film has made a few slight alterations, audience
can feel Trojan women s grief and pain and comprehend the plot with no trouble.
The film and the ancient play have some minor disparities. First, in the beginning, the play starts with
the conversation between Poseidon and Athena. Poseidon describes the aftermath of the war and the
bleak scene, giving out a background story. Then, Athena has changed her mind and switched to the
Trojan side. In contract, there is no god involved and appeared in the movie. Poseidon s and Athena s
role is taken by a narrator. The scene of women being pushed is enough to show to the audience the
background. Second, the chorus only sings once in the film, mostly just speaking, while the chorus in
the play sings in between every act. The chorus is used to switch to the next act and to tell the
background. However, the film is quite fluent without excess singings of the chorus, because the
movie is easy to change the location, time, and setting smoothly. Small changes like these two parts do
not affect the big picture.
Instead of these small changes, characters like Cassandra, Andromache, and Helen in the film,

In the past security at airports was not developed enough to prevent the unexpected terrorist attack It
was impossible to avoid all of catastrophes that took place in the past. Actually these incidents
approached today s airport security to perfection. Nowadays there are stringent rules regarding air
travelling. I. History of airports security
The only concern within aviation was the safety of flying. Hardly any thought was put into the
security sector of the aviation industry. This changed when Peruvian revolutionaries took over a Pan
American mail plane. In the period of time from 1930 to 1958, there was 23 hijackings reported. The
first serious incident happened in 1947 when the aircrew member was killed. In 1955, Jack Graham,
placed a bomb in his mother s luggage. The bomb exploded during the flight killing all aboard. A
similar incident took place in 1960, when two suicide bomber killed all people on a board. After these
acts luggage inspection has become more exact. The majority of hijackings were made due to either
escape from the USA or hold people for a ransom. In 1961, in order to prevent hijackings, the federal
government started using armed guards on chosen aircrafts. After hijackings of planes in 1969 the

Chanukah Research Paper
While the word is spelled in an unexpected way, it has the same importance. Hanukkah, or Chanukah,
is a Jewish festival that is held for eight days in December. Numerous individuals mistake Hanukkah
for Christmas; frequently it is known as the Jewish Christmas which is in fact off base. Jewish
individuals don t observe Christmas, and numerous think that it s hostile when individuals call their
festival the Jewish Christmas.
Christmas is a Christian occasion that is commended on December 25 to pay tribute to the
introduction of Jesus Christ or the timeframe that precedes and after this occasion. Christmas
developed more than two centuries into an overall religious and mainstream festivity, fusing numerous
pre Christian, agnostic conventions into the celebrations along the way. Today, Christmas is a period
for family and companions to get together and trade presents. Christmas is celebrated within the
church of the Lord.
The eight day Jewish festival known as Hanukkah or Chanukah remembers the rededication amid the
second century B.C. of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, whereas per legend Jews had ascended
against their Greek Syrian oppressors in the Maccabean Revolt. Hanukkah, which signifies
commitment in Hebrew, starts on the 25th of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Italy Cultural Awareness
Culture gets defined as the shared behavior that usually exists within a given group of people, and is
known to have learned and develop with time through socialization in the families, social groups, and
schools. This group of people has to reach an agreement for that culture to exist. Culture awareness,
therefore is the understanding that someone has about the difference between themselves and other
groups of people from other countries or even other backgrounds. It could be differences regarding
their behaviors, attitudes, beliefs, norms and their values. Different people do things in a particular
way; they view the world in various manners and even react to things in a variety of ways (Whittaker,
A. 2010 ). Culture awareness in Italy is the focus of this paper.
Broadly discussed, Italian culture entails, arts, family issues, food, architecture, and music. Although
other ethnicities live in this country, it becomes known that about 96% of Italy is composed of Italians.
The country s official language is Italian, and majority speaks it as their primary language. The Italian
family became viewed as a significant value. Most dwell in extended families rather than the nuclear
family who are only composed of father, mother, and children. The families gather for multiple
occasions throughout the year, and even more for no special occasion at all except to be with one
another, this tradition continues on with their children and their children s

The Is Not The Case With Neil Gaiman
Fiction, as a genre, is a tricky form of prose. It is made out of imaginary characters and situations.
Often these are very disconnected from reality that the readers are almost always aware that they are
reading a book. That however is not the case with Neil Gaiman. His characters and situations are
always tied back to the reality we live in. As outrageous as events get in his worlds there s always an
element of reality, a real world problem that sucks the reader in. Even if he s talking of ancient gods or
a fictional London where rats can talk and fox like creatures have a taste for fine china, there s a
balancing element such as the ancient gods who enjoy a couple games of checkers or a protagonist
who is about to marry a woman who he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mirror , Foucault writes, functions as a heterotopia in this respect: it makes this place that I
occupy at the moment when I look at myself in the glass at once absolutely real, connected with all the
space that surrounds it, and absolutely unreal, since in order to be perceived it has to pass through this
virtual point which is over there (Of Other Spaces, 4). Gaiman s worlds do exactly that, the reader can
perceive this entire new world as real as the one he lives in but the quirky elements would suggest
otherwise because they are in fact within the borders of virtual. However, that which is virtual does
not mean it is completely out of reality as Foucault s description of heterotopia suggests. The
mirroring element to Gaiman s work shows that they cannot be qualified either as utopias but
dystopias, they are mere reflections of mundane reality. In one of his lectures We writers [...] have an
obligation to our readers , Gaiman says, it s the obligation to write true things, especially important
when we are creating tales of people who do not exist in places that never were to understand that
truth is not in what happens but what it tells us about who we are. Fiction is the lie that tells the truth,
after all (Why our future depends on libraries). Even by this it is possible to say that while writing
Gaiman has a clear vision and a means to mirror reality in his

Online Learning Vs. Traditional Classroom Learning
Online Learning vs. Traditional Classroom Learning

Professor Jim Greene
Abstract:
Technology has had and imperative influence in almost every aspect of life. It has also made an
impact on how we learn today. Some question how effective learning could be via the internet, while
most stick with the familiarity of traditional classroom learning. Either option you choose still
substantiates that technology has changed the way we learn and will continue to expand on its
influences with the ways we choose to progress educationally. Each educational platform has it
disadvantages, however the advantages pose alternatives that can suit an individual s educational
needs.
With technology influencing almost every aspect of common activities, it s not unusual for it to
influence the way we learn. The traditional classroom environment is being challenged with the
implementation of online learning. With major technological advances over the last 20 years, many
traditional classroom environments have been replaced with online learning platforms that create
convenient, accelerated, and comprehensive learning opportunities around the world. Although some
would beg the differ that online learning can replace classroom education completely, online education
continues to improve allowing it to become a more trustworthy alternative for learning. Since the
traditional classroom environment pacifies familiarity in education some opt for

Strategic Analysis and Evaluation of Ryan Air
Comprehensive strategic analysis and evaluation of this business enterprise which answers the
following questions
1. In depth environmental analysis of the European Airline industry and discuss the implications for
the budget sector and especially for Ryanair. 2. An integrated understanding of the functioning of a
company its human and technical operations, leadership, customer relationships and financial
structure. 3. Implications of the internal functioning to create viable strategic positioning and discuss
any changes to Ryanair s approach to ensure an improved sustainability 4. Evaluate the strategic
leadership style of Michael O Leary

For example any planning undertaken by Ryanair for new routes or planes would follow the
prescriptive model as the objective would have been defined beforehand and elements such as finance
will have had to have been agreed before any purchasing goes ahead. On the other hand emergent
strategies may be in place for things like training and development where elements can be discovered
along the way for example if an issue arose where staff needed more health and safety training then
the training programme could be redirected. Ryanair, as already stated, follows neither strategic
approach religiously and possesses a strategy unique to their organisation, which has identified their
needs and objectives. However their approach to strategic management isn t unique in itself as the
majority of organisations will tailor strategies to suit their business own individuality.
II.3 Competitive Advantages Their main competitors are carriers including easyJet, BMI baby, FlyBe
and ThomsonFly all of who try to attract potential customers by emphasising their low cost tickets.
This makes the competition in this market segment fierce as in order to offer the lowest fares, costs
must also be kept to a minimum.

Technology Used By Geographers
One technology used by geographers is remote sensing. Remote sensing is the acquisition of data
using different satellites located around the Earth. The satellites will scan the Earth and relay that
information back to an information center/base back on Earth. Some of the uses of remote sensing are
that geographers are able to use the information they get from the satellites to map different features
across the world such as agriculture, drought, and sprawl. Another type of technology used by
geographers is GPS (global positioning system). GPS is enabled by a multitude of satellites, tracking
stations and receivers to relay the information. GPS most common use is transportation. GPS will

The Gift Of The Magi Quote Analysis
There are some things money can t buy. Proverbs. I was inspired by this quote because it is true. It s
true because one of the things money can t buy is happiness. The Gift of the Magi shows the reader
that two people who truly love each other will sacrifice their own personal treasures for one another.
This sort of relates to the short story, The Necklace , because it shows that a person who truly loves
someone will do anything to try and make the person they love happy. Money doesn t buy happiness
because there is more to happiness than materialistic things.
Money cannot buy happiness because in the story, The Gift of the Magi , it shows the reader that
materialistic things can t make Jim as happy as his wife. Also, it shows that when two people love
each other, they only need each other to have happiness. For example, The Gift of the Magi states,
Dell, said he, let s put our Christmas gifts away and keep em awhile. They re too nice to use just at
present. This example from the story shows that he didn t make a big deal out of the gifts they got for
each other because materialistic things do not make him as happy as much as his wife, Dell, makes
him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Loisel finally told Mme Forestier the truth about losing the necklace. Also, Mme Loisel had to realize
the hard way that money doesn t buy you happiness. Even though Mme Loisel was happy at first, she

  • 2. Examples Of The Affiliate Model 2.4.4.4. The Affiliate Model This model consists in selling product(s) or service(s) not created by the company, generating revenue through a commission. To give some examples to understand how the model works: Airbnb the company which connects customers and providers of places in different cities worldwide, doesn t sell any product or service, their business consists in connecting people and getting a commission for the usage of their website to enable this relation. Skyscanner gives the customer multiple options to book an airplane ticket from different Airlines, so basically they don t have an own product/service although they do work based on commissions with the airlines to promote and display their ticket prices for specific destinations. The idea would be to charge a commission value for each sale (cost per acquisition), as a broker (as Ebay does) or charge per click (as Skyscanner does). When the cost per acquisition is used, the company charges when a user buys directly following the advertisement place in the webpage, at the same time pay per click charges the company each time a potential ... Hearing the crunch of snow under your boots as you begin the hike into the distant, silent mountains. Smelling the pines along the trail, and see the silent sentinel spruces on the ridge, barely glimpsed in the pre dawn dark. It s enough to sit, shivering, at the best spot on the top rim of a remote basin, watching the east grow bright, waiting for the first rays of warm sunshine to break through the trees and drive away the bitter cold of night. Although some people think that hunting is animal cruelty, I believe that hunting is crucial to maintain the balance of animal population before they become over populated. Hunting in general is a broad topic so, I will be using deer as the main point. Walt Disney has had a hand in how hunters are portrayed. Bambi, released in 1942, portrayed hunters as heartless people, killing Bambi s mother and leaving the fawn to learn to survive. Disney also came out with a television show based on Davy Crockett s life. The series celebrated Crockett s ability as a hunter and resulted in a children s fad of wearing coonskin caps and carrying toy Crockett buffalo rifles. Disney has used movies to make us see both sides. In 1980, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was formed; its slogan was, Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment. Hunting has been a very controversial topic for many years and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Attachment Of Monkeys Attachment is defined in the book as a close emotional bond between two people, they focus on the bonds between parents and children, as well as, bonds between intimate couples. There are numerous theories on why children become attached to their parents. For instance, Freud believed that the attachment was attributed to the oral satisfaction of being fed. However, Harry Harlow conducted an experiment with monkeys that showed the infant monkeys sought out a clothed mother over a wire mother which indicated that their attachment was driven from security and comfort more than just being fed since both fed the monkeys. • 7. Ephemeral Euphoria Short Story Ephemeral Euphoria Life was joyous, for the boy had not yet met with any calamities. The buoyancy in his happiness reflected his upbringing; slightly spoiled, yet well mannered. It was the boy s eighth birthday; another year full of delight, but this year, his parents had intended to surprise him. As a collective, both the boy s parents as well as most of his friends had decided to take the boy to an amusement park, as a sort of pre party for his birthday party. They had planned to gather up parade balloons; giant elephants, giraffes and even rhinos, stuffing them with glitter and candy, then popping them, creating an abundant array of colours within the sky; one that would mimic a rainbow. After months of careful planning and consideration, the day had finally arrived; the happiest day of a boy s life. Having overheard his parents grand scheme, the boy had already begun to sing Happy Birthday ; skipping along, he had sung the song to everyone. As per usual, he had been sent to school, though on the day of his birthday, the boy had never reached his destination. While gracefully skipping his way to school, he had been kidnapped and tossed into a van. Neither frightened nor scared, he had remained calm as through a slight slit in the bag over his head, the amusement park was in sight; his eyes sparkled with merriment. Parable Of The Sower Analysis The Dangers and Fear of Change in Parable of the Sower Many times, individuals may possess a fear of changes occurring within their life, even though it is known that change is inevitable and cannot be avoided. If it is a dish in a restaurant I have never tried before, or something that a family member or friend made, I always think that nothing is so appalling that one bite may kill me. (I #1) This is so because Paulsen consistently describes situations, feelings, and scenery throughout the entire story unlike The Sniper. (Q E #1) Paulsen begins The Dogs Could Teach Me by writing, There was a point where an old logging trail went through a small, sharp sided gully a tiny canyon...It might have been a game trail that was slightly widened or an old foot trail that had not caved in. Summary Of The Film Irobot Underneath the sound effects, costumes and out of world context, films of science fiction frequently contain hypothetical implications that mimic modern society in the way that artificial and biological life communicate. The film IRobot (2004) directed by Alex Proyas, leads readers through the year 2035 where humans and robots life side by side, until detective Del Spooner discovers a conspiracy that may enslave the human race. IRobot comments on the notion that, Art Imitates Life by using film codes, such as camera shots and colour to identify the importance of the unification of artificial and biological intelligence, and that humankind s quest to evolve can lead to a lack of individuality. Symbolic and audio codes reveal that technological and human power can be a corrupting force in both the fictional world and modern society. IRobot encourages viewers to take the messages about technological danger and look at our own current society to question these controversial issues. Humans have always been ambitious, willing to create the new and impossible, yet this has caused humankind itself to lose the spark that is their own individuality. Through symbolic and audio codes, IRobot portrays the signification of independence and the blurred identity of our present time. This revolution sparked much political and social debate around the world, about what was next for the Egyptians. With the ousting of Mubarak, the Muslim Brotherhood saw it s chance to run for political power and therefore began their campaign. Before looking at the Muslim Brotherhood s role in the 2011 Revolution and the elections that would follow, their moderation as an Islamist organization must be examined. In order to do so, this paper will examine to what extent did the Muslim Brotherhood Moderate from the 1980 s 2000 s? In Jillian Schwedler s article, Faith in Moderation: Islamist Parties in Jordan and Yemen, she explains moderation as, when a movement moves from a closed and rigid worldview to one that is more open and tolerant of alternative perspectives and encounters ideological change (Schwedler 3). I will argue that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt moderated between the 1980 s 2000 s because of their evolution of ideologies on minority religious groups, women and the diversification of issues. I will be doing this by discussing their moderation on minority religious groups, women, and the diversification of issues within the state. The religious group I will be focusing on is the Copts, or Coptic Christians. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Capital Punishment And The Death Penalty Essay Capital punishment, or the death penalty, is the lawful infliction of death as a punishment. (thefreedictionary.com). The topic is quite controversial, as its merits and effectiveness as a deterrent for crime have been argued many times over. However, the death penalty is perfectly within reason, as it rids the streets of criminals that have committed serious crimes and is also cheaper for the government versus giving life sentences. Even so, there are many who are against the death penalty. One such argument that has been made is that the death penalty is barbaric because many innocents have been sent to their deaths. Although this would be true if these opposers lived before 1986, that is not the case in today s world because there is access to DNA tests and profiling. According to www.interpol.int, Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecules contain the information all living cells in the human body need to function. They also control the inheritance of characteristics from parents to offspring. (interpol.int). DNA profiling play important roles in crimes as it has the potential to link a series of crimes and to place a suspect at the scene of a crime. Not only that, but also DNA can help to prove a suspect s innocence. As they grow and learn, you see them explore the world and all the things we have become accustomed too. While all children grow differently, they all experience and go through the same stages; physical, cognitive, and socio emotional development. One of the first noticeable factors associated with the growth of an infant is how they develop physically. Physical development involves the physical changes that take place with an infant; this involves their facial features, which begin to take definition, and they begin to grow in length, and weight. Love, support, and care are essential to a child brain to develop efficiently, a parent or giver must provide constant interaction and attention. Cognitive development involves the way infants think, perceive things, solve problems, and begin to understand the world around them. Imitation is a perfect combination of both cognitive and socio emotional development; this is a way infants learn. As caregivers interact with their infant and begin to express emotions, the infant will copy what they see their caregiver do. Interaction like this plays a role in your infant s brain development. The sensorimotor stage incorporates senses (sight, hearing, tasting, and feeling) with physical actions. An infant becomes interested in bright colors, or movement, and begins to respond to an action such as a smiling caregiver. This concept is similar to joint attention, when a caregiver points to an object, and the infant becomes aware of it. While, these concepts are based on cognitive development, socio emotional development also plays an important role. Object permanence is a mixture of both cognitive and physical development. Both fair value accounting and historical cost accounting have their advantages and drawbacks and therefore it is hard to conclude which system is superior to the other. Within the accounting systems, the valuation of intangible assets has been a constant source of attention by the board as well. This essay summarizes the superiority of fair value accounting in measuring value of certain assets and liabilities including intangible assets in light of the IASB discussion paper released recently. According to Rodríguez Pérez et al (2011) the debate between the choice of Fair value and Historical cost accounting essentially takes root from the debate of relevance and reliability. The IASB Framework defines relevancy as when information influences the economic decisions of users by helping them evaluate past, present or future events or confirming, or correcting, their past evaluations. • 25. The Trojan Women ( 1971 ) The movie The Trojan Women (1971) is a successful and compelling contemporary adaption of the tragedy The Trojan Women, written by Euripides. Overall, the film follows the whole plot very well and depicts the main characters of Euripides work expressly, especially characters like Cassandra, Andromache, and Helen. Although the director of the film has made a few slight alterations, audience can feel Trojan women s grief and pain and comprehend the plot with no trouble. The film and the ancient play have some minor disparities. First, in the beginning, the play starts with the conversation between Poseidon and Athena. Poseidon describes the aftermath of the war and the bleak scene, giving out a background story. Then, Athena has changed her mind and switched to the Trojan side. In contract, there is no god involved and appeared in the movie. Poseidon s and Athena s role is taken by a narrator. The scene of women being pushed is enough to show to the audience the background. Second, the chorus only sings once in the film, mostly just speaking, while the chorus in the play sings in between every act. The chorus is used to switch to the next act and to tell the background. • 29. The Is Not The Case With Neil Gaiman Fiction, as a genre, is a tricky form of prose. It is made out of imaginary characters and situations. Often these are very disconnected from reality that the readers are almost always aware that they are reading a book. That however is not the case with Neil Gaiman. His characters and situations are always tied back to the reality we live in. As outrageous as events get in his worlds there s always an element of reality, a real world problem that sucks the reader in. Even if he s talking of ancient gods or a fictional London where rats can talk and fox like creatures have a taste for fine china, there s a balancing element such as the ancient gods who enjoy a couple games of checkers or a protagonist who is about to marry a woman who he ... The mirror , Foucault writes, functions as a heterotopia in this respect: it makes this place that I occupy at the moment when I look at myself in the glass at once absolutely real, connected with all the space that surrounds it, and absolutely unreal, since in order to be perceived it has to pass through this virtual point which is over there (Of Other Spaces, 4). Gaiman s worlds do exactly that, the reader can perceive this entire new world as real as the one he lives in but the quirky elements would suggest otherwise because they are in fact within the borders of virtual. However, that which is virtual does not mean it is completely out of reality as Foucault s description of heterotopia suggests. The mirroring element to Gaiman s work shows that they cannot be qualified either as utopias but dystopias, they are mere reflections of mundane reality. In one of his lectures We writers [...] have an obligation to our readers , Gaiman says, it s the obligation to write true things, especially important when we are creating tales of people who do not exist in places that never were to understand that truth is not in what happens but what it tells us about who we are. Fiction is the lie that tells the truth, after all (Why our future depends on libraries). Even by this it is possible to say that while writing Gaiman has a clear vision and a means to mirror reality in his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example any planning undertaken by Ryanair for new routes or planes would follow the prescriptive model as the objective would have been defined beforehand and elements such as finance will have had to have been agreed before any purchasing goes ahead. On the other hand emergent strategies may be in place for things like training and development where elements can be discovered along the way for example if an issue arose where staff needed more health and safety training then the training programme could be redirected. Ryanair, as already stated, follows neither strategic approach religiously and possesses a strategy unique to their organisation, which has identified their needs and objectives. However their approach to strategic management isn t unique in itself as the majority of organisations will tailor strategies to suit their business own individuality. • 33. The Gift Of The Magi Quote Analysis There are some things money can t buy. Proverbs. I was inspired by this quote because it is true. It s true because one of the things money can t buy is happiness. The Gift of the Magi shows the reader that two people who truly love each other will sacrifice their own personal treasures for one another. This sort of relates to the short story, The Necklace , because it shows that a person who truly loves someone will do anything to try and make the person they love happy. Money doesn t buy happiness because there is more to happiness than materialistic things. Money cannot buy happiness because in the story, The Gift of the Magi , it shows the reader that materialistic things can t make Jim as happy as his wife. Also, it shows that when two people love each other, they only need each other to have happiness. For example, The Gift of the Magi states, Dell, said he, let s put our Christmas gifts away and keep em awhile. They re too nice to use just at present. This example from the story shows that he didn t make a big deal out of the gifts they got for each other because materialistic things do not make him as happy as much as his wife, Dell, makes him. ...
