This document discusses educational technology and hypermedia. It defines hypermedia as a form of multimedia that presents information and integrates student activities in a virtual learning environment. Key characteristics of hypermedia applications include learner control over the sequence, pace and content, as well as a wide range of navigation routes depending on the learner's ability and motivation. Hypermedia can incorporate different media types like text, graphics, audio and video, but may not use all types in a single presentation. When using hypermedia for instruction, teachers should get learners' attention, recall prior learning, outline objectives, introduce the software, guide learning, provide feedback, and assess performance to enhance retention.
Hypermedia is a computer-based information retrieval system that enables a user to gain or provide access to texts, audio, and video recording, photographs, and computer graphics related to a particular subjects.

Hypermedia is nothing but multimedia, but this tie packaged as an educational computer software where information is presented and student activities are integrated in a virtual I learning environment. Most educational IT applications are hypermedia and these include:
Distant learning is developing and attracting more users due to the availability and popularity of computers and mobile devices among young and old learners alike. A lot of learning platforms provide courses and training in different fields, but lack accessibility for the visually disabled students, and cannot be optimally accessed from a handheld device, whereas mobile devices are very popular.
Presentation delivered at Aurion Connection Masterclass on Friday 15 September in Belfast that addressed common misconceptions about digital learning and how your organisation can move beyond them to innovate your learning culture.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2. LESSON 15
Educational technology I
the student has already become aware of multimedia or
an audio-visual package that includes more than one
instructional media (means of knowing) such as text, graphics,
audio animation and video clip.
Hypermedia is nothing but multimedia, an educational
computer software where information is presented and student
activities are integrated in a virtual learning environment.
EDUCATIONAL IT APPLICAATION ARE HYPERMEDIA:
1. Tutorial software packages
2.Knowledge webpages
3. Simulation instructional games
4. Learning project management, and other
3. LESSON 15
CHARACTERISTICS OF HYPERMEDIA APPLICATION
Two important features that are outstanding among
other features- that characterized the hypermedia software
1. Learner control.
-the learner makes his own decisions on the
path, flow or events of instruction. The learner has control
on such aspect as sequence. Pace, content , media,
feedback, that he/she may encounter in the hypermedia
learning program.
2. Learner wide range of navigation routes.
- the learner controls the sequence and pace
of his path depending on his ability and motivation.
4. LESSON 15
VARIETY OF MEDIA
- Includes more than one media ( text, graphics, audio,
animation and video clip) but does not necessarily use all types of media
in one presentation.
HYPERMEDIA
- Does not place life experience and learning from nature and
life.
In the use of hypermedia the following instructional events will
prove useful to the teacher:
1. Get the learners attention
2. Recall prior learning
3. Inform learners of lesson objectives
4. Introduce the software and its distinctive features
5. Guide learning, eliciting performance
6. Provide learning feedback
7. Assess performance
8. Enhance retention and learning transfer
