This presentation discusses the spinning process. It introduces the presenter, Md. Yousuf Hossain from the Department of Textile Engineering at Green University of Bangladesh. It defines fiber, spinning and yarn, and outlines the process from fiber through blow room, carding, draw frame and speed frame to the ring frame where yarn is produced. It describes the functions of the ring frame and drafting zone where twist is inserted into the yarn. The yarn passes through a traveler and is wound onto a cop on the spindle. Advantages of ring frames are discussed along with limitations regarding energy costs.
