A research proposal is a document that presents a
plan for a project to reviewers for evaluation.
It can be a supervised project submitted to
instructors as part of an educational degree or
it can be a research project proposed to a
funding agency.
A proposal describes the research problem and its
importance, gives a detailed account of the
methods that will be used why they are
appropriate.

1. The broad goals of the study – Objectives
2. An abstract
3. The specific problem to be investigated – Title and A
problem statement
4. A literature review – Review and Survey
5. Details of the procedures to be followed

a. The sampling design
b. Data collection methods
c. Data analysis.
7) Time frame of the study, including information on when the written
report will be handed over to the sponsors.
8) The budget, detailing the costs with reference to specific items of
expenditure.
Such a proposal containing the above features is presented to the
manager, who might seek clarification on some points, want the
proposal to be modified in certain respects, or accept it.
