Advantages And Disadvantages Of Phased Implementation
What are the disadvantages?
The immediately approach
The shortcomings of the immediately approach are directly opposed to the advantages of a phased
implementation:
Huge peak resources may be required;
Fewer resources will be available for a particular module;
The risk of total system failure may be higher;
You can not easily return to the traditional system;
Staff have less practical ability to acquire knowledge;
Project managers can not show that the system is working, until it is fully installed;
The period between development and implementation can be longer.

used an alternative method, called undulating (Westerman et al. 1999). The introduction of the ERP
system by this company was considered as a program of changes, consisting of various waves of
changes. Each wave of the program introduced new executable functions to different organizational
units or geographic regions. Although each wave was independently controlled to ensure that the
change program was running, the overall design team controlled their interdependencies. For example,
Tektronix took three years to implement Oracle applications. In the first year, the General Ledger was
introduced in 16 countries. The company then focused on converting receivables and managing costs
in its regional accounting centers around the world. After the introduction of financial applications,
Tektronix was able to add new features (for example, order reports, billing and debt) to information

Toyota Crisis Management
Toyota Crisis: Management Ignorance?
Abstract
Since the late 2009, the famous vehicle manufacture Toyota has suffered a severe crisis due to
unintended quality problems in its cars which had triggered Toyota s largest officially recalls of its
cars around the world. This crisis threatens the company s previous reputation of good quality cars, as
well as the brand image built up over time. This study aims to elaborate on the Toyota crisis in order to
understand why Toyota faces this crisis and how they deal with the crisis; and investigate consumers
perceptions of Toyota brand as the outcome of the crisis, with a focus on Swedish market. A

production with just in time principle, and removing waste without removing value (Angel, 2008). So
far, America has become Toyota s largest market, where Toyota is rank as one of the top selling brands
(Toyota USA website).
CONCLUSION
Since the late 2009, the famous vehicle manufacture Toyota has suffered a severe crisis due to
unintended quality problems in its cars. This had triggered Toyota s largest officially recalls of nearly
9 million vehicles all over the world. This crisis has threatened the company s previous reputation of
building good quality and reliable cars, as well as damaging its brand image built up over time. The
managerial decisions taken by Toyota to deal with the crisis is considered as a key issue to retrieve the
former reputation, and to recover the trust and image held by the customers. This study aims to
elaborate on the Toyota crisis in order to understand why Toyota faces this crisis and how Toyota deals
with the crisis, and investigate Swedish consumers perceptions of Toyota brand as the outcome of the
crisis. The findings indicated that:
(1) Although there were external powers such as mass media that forced Toyota working even harder
on the crisis, it was Toyota itself that asks for most of its own misfortunes when they lost quality focus
in the rapid global expansion and failed to effectively

Global Security Law And Act Of Network Security
Introduction
Global Security Law / Act of Network Security
Global security also called International security. International security consists of the measures taken
by nations and international organizations, such as the United Nations, to ensure mutual survival and
safety. These measures include military action and diplomatic agreements such as treaties and
conventions. International and national security is invariably linked. International security is national
security or state security in the global arena. (Wikipedia, 2014)
The Global Security Act also includes Global Network Security. Network security consists of products
and services used to monitor, detect, and prevent unauthorized access, misuse, malfunctioning, and
destruction of a computer network. It helps to provide and maintain a secure platform to enable users
in the network to perform their critical tasks. Network security is increasingly gaining prominence
especially because the number of hackers who want to extort money or steal critical information has
increased. Not only has the number of networks security threats increased, the level of sophistication
is much higher and traditional defense mechanisms are no match for these threats. Organizations, both
large and small, have begun to realize the importance of network security systems and have increased
their investment in network security. In addition, there is now a growing realization that network
security systems can also increase workforce productivity,

Watch Me Move
The show Watch Me Move spoke about the history behind the dances and how dance has progressed
through the years. Throughout the show there were prominent dances such as the Charleston,
Cakewalk, and the Lindy Hop. There are very distinguished people such as James Brown, Gladys
Knight and the Pips, The Supremes, Michael Jackson and Prince along with many more. This gave me
a more insightful look on what happened through the history and how the evolution of music and
dances had cycled through. It is easy to say that the majority of the dances that evolved into something
else were originated by the African Americans and their communities. While watching I couldn t help
but connecting that music has more effects on people s lives other than ... Show more content on

Through the different dances there has been a style change with how the dancers move within the
dance. As time goes on there appeared to be less and lesser clothing on the dancers. I have seen first
hand how dance styles changed through my life. The changes between what music is popular and how
to dance to the song. Throughout being taught at dance school, there were variations of provocatively
that certain dance styles would partake in. Jazz dance and hip hop were seen to be more of the risqué
dance forms that the costumes showed more skin. Is the changing of dance costumes being influenced
by what we see on music videos? Is it related to the stripper culture we ve spoken about in class?
Some of the changes have been drastic with the costumes or the choice of dance moves, but some are
very subtle such as liturgical or modern dances that have had much of a change in the culture of the
dance. This show glorifies how dancing can be made into whatever the dancer wants it to be. I found
this movie beneficial because it let me think more intimately with my paper topic about clogging.
There probably are connections between the spreading of the cakewalk that has or had influenced the
emergence of clogging or buckhucking/flat

North By Northwest Scene Analysis
North By Northwest Mise en Scene Analysis In this scene, Roger Thornhill (Cary Grant) is with the
his black car in the woods meeting Eve Kendall (Eva Marie Saint) and her white car after his death. In
the film, it is planned that Eve shoots Roger with blanks and that they would meet elsewhere after
Roger was pronounced dead. As Roger exits the car to meet Eve, the audience can see that
compositionally the scene is divided down the middle. The trees in middle divides Roger s world from
Eve s world. Hitchcock purposely had the scene set up to be parallel and symmetrical. Having Roger
and his car on the left side and Eve and her car on the other side. In my opinion, I think the dominant
in this scene would have to be Eve s white car. The

Sun Tzu Theory Essay
The Relevancy of Sun Tzu s Theory for XXI Century
Is the Sun Tzu s theory of war relevant for the nature and character of XXI century wars, despite the
finding that, most probably, the author wrote it more than 2500 years ago in his famous treatise, The
Art of War? This complex question becomes more important if we take into consideration the age of
his ideas and difference in character of wars fought in the current century and those fought before that.
However, the question becomes less complex if we approach it in a way that implies distinction
between the character of the wars and their nature. Professionals in the area of strategy are expected to
be comfortable with the observation that, Continuity and change are part of war, ... Show more content

At the beginning of the Art of War, Sun Tzu asserts that, [w]ar is a matter of vital importance to the
[s]tate; the province of life or death; and thus it deserves to be thoroughly studied. In other words,
while setting up the strategy for the war a statesman has to determine clear and attainable objective
before the war starts. Tzu suggests priorities in choosing military objectives putting the attacking
enemy s strategy on a first place. The second and third place, are reserved for the disrupting enemy s
alliances and attacking his military, respectively. Attacking the enemy s military was his last choice
because he considered a war as not only a military affairs, but a matter of politics, diplomacy,
economy, climate and geography. In attacking enemy s military, he suggested not to put a premium on
killing , but on enemy s cohesion and his will to fight. His advice is to divide him, and disrupt his
morale or the will of enemy s military to accompany

Analysis Of Only Daughter By Sandra Cisneros
He meant siete hijos, seven children, but he translated it as sons . This is one of the challenges the
author faced growing up in a mexican american family. The author speaks about how her culture and
the way she wanted to live and be understood were always under conflict. The author is very
persuasive because she is a mexican american and is able to find a midpoint between two cultures. The
article Only Daughter by Sandra Cisneros describes the hardships of the author being an only daughter
in a family of nine and how she came to be such a great author. This autobiography was published in
glamour in 1990 . The author also talks about her father and how her father would make her feel like
her education didn t matter. Her father thought that college was only good for finding a husband. But
that just made the author persevere and try to gain her father s approval. She continued to work hard
and she started to make a name for herself but her father never really was interested in her work. She
then talks about her past and always being brushed off and being called a son even though she was his
daughter. He meant siete hijos, seven children, but he translated it as sons . The author then tells of
how her father wanted all his children to go to college because that is why he worked so hard it was
his investment. She then goes on to pursue her career even further and she starts to become more

Catholic Education Research Paper
I cannot describe what Catholic Education means to me currently without recalling what it once meant
to me. Catholic Education meant different things to me at different stages of my life. From
kindergarten to around grade 5, Catholic Education was just education. I knew public schools existed.
I understood that Catholic schools engaged students in the Catholic faith. Like my peers I would pray,
listen during religion lessons, and sit cross legged on the gymnasium floor, cramped together with 500
other students. The masses meant nothing to me. (They really just meant discomfort because my legs
would always fall asleep.) I listened to most lessons passively all the time, and religion lessons were
no exception. Prayers were only memorized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I came to conclusions about my faith and Catholic Education. Catholic Education still does not mean
much to me. However, it brings together people who (most of the time) come from a
Catholic/Christian backgrounds, and creates a sense of community. For that I appreciate Catholic
Education. What I do not find as nice about Catholic schools is that despite being centred around
religion, people in Catholic schools can be just as mean spirited, rude, and uncompassionate as people
in public schools, if not worse. I am aware that it is unrealistic to assume that those in Catholic schools
are all wonderful people, but I find reality ironic. In my opinion, Catholic Education is like public
education, except Catholic students have school masses and are obligated to take religion courses. As I
introduced previously, being subject to Catholic Education and those devoutly religious for the better
part of 13 years has guided me to my brand of Catholicism so to speak. Catholic Education has
inadvertently, or possibly intentionally, started me off on my own spiritual path by showing me what I
do not like about Catholicism (eg. the belief that not going to church is bad). Spirituality and personal
religious beliefs are lifelong works in progress, and I suppose that without Catholic Education my
progress would have started later in my

the behavior of Filipinos before the arrival of the Spaniards. The lead character of Viajero was an

Said discusses three main ideas in the decolonizing cultural resistance: (1) the concept of national
language; (2) resistance as an alternative way of conceiving human history; and (3) a noticeable pull
away from separatist nationalism toward a more integrative view of human community and human
liberation (pp. 215 216). Roxas Tope (1998) wrote that the proponents of nationalism in the
Philippines during the 1960s thought that it was necessary to require the writing of Philippine history
by a Filipino and from the point of view of the Filipino, but when these works were published they

an act that can be considered as walking the fine line of the concept of Grand Narrative that both
postcolonial and postmodern schools of thought question. In the same line, Zialcita (2005) questioned
the overly nationalistic approach to the (re)writing of history because it highlights only the Spanish
state as the enemy of democrats and nationalists by the late nineteenth century and leaves out the
Spanish state that brought in symbols, values, and an organization whose unforeseen consequence was
an expanded sense of community where notions of democracy and nationalism germinated (p. 65).
Zialcita also observed this need to frame the definition of Filipino

Impact Of The Chinese Exclusion Act On Chinese Immigrants...
Impact of the Chinese Exclusion Act on Chinese immigrants and immigration policy
The Chinese Exclusion Act was established in 1882, in which the first time United States prevent a
group of immigrants with nationality (Lee 4), marked United States from welcoming nation to an
enclosed and discriminative nation, has monumental impact on each Chinese immigrants and culture
of the entire American Chinese community (6). The poor conditions and lack of opportunities in the
19th century China and the Chinese s hope of accumulating wealth to support their families in China
fostered the huge influx of Chinese immigrants to United States. The discovery of gold in California
also fuelled many Chinese s dream of fast wealth (112). Due to the need for mass labour stemming
from industrialization and high productivity of Chinese labours, employers would enthusiastically hire
Chinese labour, which in turn sparked the increasing competition with the local workers and a
growing anti Chinese sentiment (114).
It is crucial to recognize the huge toll the Chinese Exclusion Act took on Chinese immigrants and
Chinese Americans, and the negative influence of racialization it had on immigration policy of other
countries. In this paper, I will discuss the consequences of the Chinese Exclusion Act on Chinese
culture and society in the United States, regarding to the isolation of Chinese society in U.S., paper

The Problem Of Plastic Surgery
Valeria Lukyanova, a Romanian young woman had more than a hundred surgeries in order to look like
Barbie. She decided to have a huge number of plastic surgeries, regardless of the price, just to reach
her ideal physical appearance. As shocking as it can be, these examples make people realize that looks
are very important in our society and that plastic surgery is therefore becoming a little too common.
Today a real addiction to plastic surgery might be threatening our world.
Plastic surgery is spreading more and more nowadays due to better knowledge in medicine but also to
the changes in people s attitudes and state of mind. It used to be a way to help people in real need but
is now used for small details people want to change, because their look mostly determines their level
of self esteem. In fact, beauty is taking a lot of importance and so does sexiness . The image of the
perfect human given by the media has been changing the way people see themselves. Plastic surgery
has become more common because it is an easy way to change physical appearance. However, the
number of eating disorders has also increased but for people who can afford it, it is always more
convenient to get an operation.
Plastic surgery should not be as common because it makes people fake in a way. It occurs when
people are obsessed with their looks and will have as many surgeries as they can to be as close to their
perfection as they can be. It can be said that there is an addiction to plastic surgery

Essay on A Study of Perspectives
A Study of Perspectives
Livingston s documentary Paris is Burning inspired an awareness of being that I had not previously
experienced. The film urges the spectator to reevaluate not only one s breadth of knowledge of the
black gay culture in the 80 s, but also the perspectives from which one views the film. Personally
speaking, the easiest evaluation of the latter topic would be the perspective of a privileged white
straight female born into a sheltered and socially traditional household. This background would thus
color my reaction to the film: one of intense sadness for the featured interviewees who yearned for an
existence which was mostly unobtainable except in the case of extreme sacrifice and typically led to
social ostracizing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new found perspective, achieved during class discussions and readings, was the finale of the
topic for me until I checked my mailbox after class the following day.
In my mailbox was an honor code abstract detailing a case brought before the council in previous
months. My first thought when carrying the abstract home with me was curiosity at what felt and
looked to be a massive case summery of around 30 pages. I settled down to read it. The case abstract
dealt with an occurrence two semesters ago during a Halloween dance on Bryn Mawr s campus. Two
Haverford male students attended the Hallween party at Rhoads dressed as two specific female Black
popstars. They had painted themselves brown and attached prosthetic breasts and buttocks to their
bodies. (The Muppets abstract, pg. 1) The case abstract is incredibly detailed in documenting all
parties statements and reactions.
After the Halloween party where they wore their costumes the entire night the two males felt
necessary to write an explanation to the community after hearing some rumblings about their costume
from friends and strangers alike. They explained that they had no intention on offending anyone in the
community, but had simply chosen the costumes because of its ridiculous nature. The abstract
explains, [Bert said] they saw white plastic breasts and considered dressing as topless women. Then
they saw the black breasts and butts and decided

INTRODUCTION
American Gangster tells a story about how the emerge of drug traffic and trade was in the streets of

originally from North Carolina.
Lucas moves to Harlem and is apprenticed under a notorious crime boss Bumpy. Russell Crowe plays
detective Richie Roberts – a New York detective that has a task to bring the drug trafficking and
corruption between the police department to heel. In the movie also plays Josh Brolin the sleazy cop,

Both Lucas and Roberts share a rigorous ethical code that sets them apart from their own colleagues,
making them lone figures on opposite sides of the law. The destinies of these two men became
intertwined as they approach a confrontation where only one of them can come out on top.
Conclusion
Lucas is later arrested along with many of his family members, on various criminal charges to include

Primo Levi Survival In Auschwitz Quotes
In the World War II era, Jewish people were picked upon by the Nazis to kill off to purify their
bloodlines. The Holocaust is an example of pure hatred and dehumanization. Dehumanize is to
deprive someone of human qualities. The Nazis did this to the Jewish people by putting them in
concentration camps to make them work to the brink of death, or they would kill them. They separated
them from their families and took away all human rights from the Jewish people.
Primo Levi was a Holocaust survivor that lived through terrible conditions in concentration camps and
physical abuse from the Nazi soldiers. Levi wrote about his experiences in the Holocaust in his book,

Pop Rocks? Everyone has eaten the popping candy, but have you ever wondered what makes them

On a scale from one to ten on dangerousness, Pop Rocks come in at about a two. It is very rare, but
there is a potential risk of ulcers and loss of teeth. This can only happen in extreme cases. Originally

Gender And Gender Roles In William Shakespeare s Macbeth
In the early 17th century, William Shakespeare wrote a tragedy based on a patron, King James I, of his
acting company. The tragedy was Macbeth, and it was about a Scottish nobleman who committed
unimaginable acts for his own gain and benefit simply because of a prophecy. Shakespeare had
demolished the stereotypes given by society to men and women in that time period by creating his
characters to be the exact opposite of what was expected. This is evident in Macbeth s opinion of his
wife, Lady Macbeth s shocking personality and in the three witches mocking and dark nature. Gender
roles are significantly visible in Macbeth, specifically in Macbeth s opinion of his wife. Women were
considered to be the weaker sex and in need always of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that Macbeth takes it upon himself to inform Lady Macbeth that he thought it d be good to
tell her, simply shows us that Macbeth is quite thoughtful and caring towards his wife, especially in
areas where she, as the woman of the house, is expected to excel in, such as being the perfect hostess
for the king. The second part of the quote is quite significant, as Macbeth uses an unfamiliar term of
endearment that is strong and powerful. My dearest partner in greatness. (1.5.10)This title is
empowering and important because it tells the audience a lot about how Macbeth perceives his wife.
His opinion of her is quite high, and he clearly sees her as an equal. He addresses her with respect,
love and equality which was unexpected of a man in the 17th century. This term of endearment
expresses his views clearly and leaves the audience with no room for confusion, as it is extremely self
explanatory. In the 17th century, women had many roles to fill; however, the role to be the perfect,
obedient housewife was the most important one. Women s proper role in society... was largely limited
to the domestic sphere. According to the article, Status Of Women In 17th Century Neo Classical Age,

Saddam Hussien In Tales Of Tyrants, By Dedam Bowden
Throughout history, tyranny has been demonstrated on many occasions. When rulers wanted to have an
absolute power over all the aspects of the country they are ruling. One of the most famous tyrants in
the history of the middle east countries, or maybe the history of the world, is Saddam Hussein.
Saddam Hussein ruled Iraq for more than 23 years; he tortured, arrested, and killed countless number
of people during the time of his reign. In the article of Tales of Tyrants, Mark Bowden claimed that
Saddam Hussein was a brutal and cruel leader who used violence and ferocity in order to manipulate
the Iraqis and plant his fear in them. Bowden used word diction, and pathos to prove that Saddam is a
diabolical and ruthless person who is trying to dominate Iraqis and get whatever he wants mercilessly,
justifying his means by believing that he is a direct descendent of the Prophet Mohammed which gives
him the right to do anything. In his article, Bowden first starts talking about Hussein s personality
employing diciton words like anointed, and glorious to reveal how important, and confident Hussien
was. Bowden articulated that Saddam Hussien, the Anointed one, Glorious leader, Direct Descendant
of the Prophet. Bowden was trying to assert that Saddam Hussein was a powerful, influential and
strong leader. In Bowden s usage of Anointed he was probably trying to allude to Hussein s ordering

The Mental Health Counseling Is A Field Of Great...
Clinical Mental Health counseling is a field of great opportunity and great responsibility. When
counselees walk into the therapist s office, they are often at one of the lowest points of their lives,
bringing with them a lifetime of hurts, questions, and crises. The counselor s view of the Gospel must
be full enough to encompass the life of the hurting person. In those moments, a counselor will rely on
years of hard work and discipline to make decisions that impact a person for life. A counselor must be
prepared to do everything right yet still have the client walk away gaining nothing. Biblical counseling
requires excellence in mind, personal discipline, and compassion, driven by a desire to glorify God
and faith in His grace and sovereignty. There is nothing like Biblical counseling to see the Gospel
work.

Military Services Act
Essay Title: Military Services Act In 1917 during WW1, the Canadian government justified in
enacting the Military Services Act to register and conscript men for war. Almost all French Canadians
opposed conscription because they felt they had no loyalty to France and Britain. Other Canadians
were at ease with the conscription as they supported the British Empire. The farmers, union heads, and
pacifists were all opposed of the conscription like the French Canadians. I believe the Military
Services Act was not the best choice because it ripped up the relations between the English and the
French Canadians, it eliminated the freedom of the people by forcing them to go to war, and caused a

The Quebec City mayor sent reinforcements from Ottawa to help control the rioting, which had been
going on for two days. On the Easter Monday the crowds organized against the military presence in
the city. Armed rioters started to fire at the troops and vise versa. There was an estimated four men
killed by the fire and dozens injured. These riots represent one of the most violent disturbances in
Canadian history. These riots erupted over conscription, which grew from how things were before in
French Canadian nationalism. The military crackdown that lasted in Quebec until the end of the war
resulted in an increase in state power in the growing of French Canadian nationalism. These riots over
the conscription and the French Canadians sticking to their ways lead to a many difficult and

relationship of the English Canadians and the French Canadians, it limited the freedom of the males

the spring of 1918, the government had amended the Military Services Act so that there were no

The overall threat is usually spun so that a majority of the citizens experience the fear it is meant to
create. A big part of creating this fear is deciding on what words to use when presenting the enemy to
the public. The language used to convey the nature of the threat is different in a country such as Spain
than it is in America (Wolf). For example, the citizens of Spain are told that there is a grave security
threat whereas American citizens are lead to believe, that we are potentially threatened with the end of
civilization. Of course, this makes us [Americans] more willing to accept restrictions on our freedoms
(Wolf). The tactic of using different words to feed off larger fears of the public allows the leader to
control a larger majority. It also allows them to exaggerate the fears of the nation by using more
frightening and drastic words.
Trump terrifies people into supporting him by preaching the horrors of the world and then promising

Birth Control And Fertility
Birth Control and Fertility One of the most common misconceptions circling society for years is how
the use of contraceptives (birth control) can affect women s fertility. Birth control is a mixture of
hormones that thicken the cervical mucus to prevent the ovaries from ovulating eggs, as well as
changing the lining of the uterus to make reproduction difficult. For this reason, women use multiple
contraceptive methods to help with hormonal issues, menstrual problems, ovarian disorders, but the
most common use is for the prevention of pregnancy. So how does a medication that prevents one
from getting pregnant not affect fertility, especially for those who utilize it for years? Ever since the
U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved contraceptives in 1960, it has become one of the
most thoroughly tested medications. With a few notable exceptions, immediately after you stop using
birth control, your fertility will go right back to what it was destined to be, says Dr. Paul Blumenthal,
professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Johns Hopkins University Medical School. By this he means
that problems conceiving may be attributed to age, disorders, and other factors that can lead to
infertility, but the contraceptive itself does not affect it once you stop utilizing it. In fact, studies show
that birth control improves fertility by helping cure ovarian disorders that lead to infertility, as well as
an infertility treatment to patients that cannot conceive. Contrary to

The Narrator Of A Rose For Emily
The narrator of A Rose for Emily serves as the town s aggregate voice. Faultfinders have faced off
regarding whether it is a man or lady; a previous significant other of Emily Grierson s; the kid who

The Dark Knight Analysis
The Dark Knight is a superhero movie and is part of a sequel. It comes second after Batman Begins. It
is a fantastic movie directed by Christopher Nolan. The main Theme of this movie is Faith. The plot
and Characters develop this theme in a few ways. When the film opens up we have a bank robbery
scene in the city of gotham and we encounter the joker, our antagonist. Because of this we see a chain
of crimes happening around the city and the people of Gotham turn their faith toward the Batman.
This is the basic plot of the film where the protagonists are trying to restore people s faith back into
the city and the police force. The characters develop this theme by carrying out the plot of the film and
helping restore faith back into the city. The visual design plays a big role in developing the film s
theme. A majority of the time the films color is dark and the colors palate that is used is to the darker
side. The setting of this movie is determiner of character because it takes place in a setting that
Batman doesn t have too much control over and he is working to protect that and survive in that place.
We also see a setting for sheer visual impact at times such as when we see a deep focus camera shot of
the entire city and see how much chaos is going on and what the protagonists are trying to do to
restore faith back into the city. The functions of the setting in this film also have symbolic significance
to the theme and it impacts it very much. We mostly see this in the

The American Prairie A Known Wonder
By: Avani Pammidimukkala #20 and
Tanvi Prem #24
Due Date: May 26th, 2016
Introduction When people think of the American Prairie, they think of a dull, and grassy full biome.
But, the American Prairie is an extremely fascinating biome. At first glance, this grassy biome may
look really dull and boring, but if you look deeper into it and feel nature playing its daily roles in this
prairie around you, then you will see how unique this biome is.
Location
The American Prairie is usually located at mid latitudes, such as the middle of North America.
Covered with grasses and numerous wild flowers, this area of land is huge. On the American prairie,
trees grow that well, due to the lack of not too much rain. But, there are still some trees, and if they are

Currently, this biome is experiencing a lot of human impact that affects the environment greatly. The
increased agricultural use of soil has created erosion, and its quality is going down. This is causing the
Bison and Pronghorn that live on the prairie to become almost extinct. The American Prairie grassland
is disappearing due to dividing up the land for farming and urban development. Dividing up the land
for farming is bad because the animals of the grasslands don t have any way to move around. Prairie
animals are also being endangered. When the prairie grassland is converted into cropland, it reduces
the food source for many wild animals. This can lead to migration or possibly the starvation of the
animals. Hundreds of animals have been hunted for valuable body parts. Also, bison have been hunted
for their meat. This caused animals to near extinction. Humans have also done much more damage to
this biome,

John Holland s Typology Paper
Holland s Typology In the beginning, career counseling was strictly developed to help with job
placement, but it became so much more than that after the career development was further researched
by a group of theorist that focused on career process. What is it that drives us to choose a specific
career path? According to Zunker (2012), different theorists such as Parsons, Holland, Krumboltz,
Bandura, Super, and Gottfredson all developed theories on career development and their perspective
on the importance of occupational process. Throughout this paper one will discuss the John Holland s
Typology and the significance of this particular career theory. Some of the points that will be covered
in this paper include: history of theory, strengths and weaknesses, assessments used, population best
fit for this theory, and diversity and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Explanation and History John Holland was a remarkable psychologist that took special interest in
career choice and personality traits. Holland s career counseling perspective started while studying at
the University of Minnesota for graduate school in counseling. In graduate school, was when he
discovered that people express personality in various ways (Nauta, 2010, p.12). He expressed that
personality and career interests work together somehow (Nauta, 2010). The John Holland s Typology
is the concept that one chooses a career to satisfy one s preferred modal personal orientation (Zunker,
2012, p. 27). He made two major points about how people are influenced for a career choice. The first
point was that people search for an environment that they can utilize their skills and abilities, and
reveal their values and attitudes in the most influential way. The second point was that a person s

The Control Of Mind Control In 1984 By George Orwell
In the novel 1984 George Orwell demonstrates how the government maintains power through mind
control and manipulation of the masses. Orwell hints that when the government (Big Brother), holds
too much power they become crooked and devious towards the rest of the population. In a nutshell
Orwell is conveying that a corrupt government destroys all chances for an ideal society. Collectively,
George Orwell made a prediction of what was going to happen, and it has become a reality to some
extent. Overall this is a great book for the current political state. As Lewis Beale states in his CNN
article nearly all public and private places have large TV screens that broadcast government
propaganda, news and approved entertainment. But they are also two way monitors that spy on
citizens private lives. Today websites like Facebook track our likes and dislikes, and governments and
private individuals hack into our computers and find out what they want to know. Then there are the
ever present surveillance cameras that spy on the average person as they go about their daily routine .
The first clear example occurs with the posters with the words Big Brother is Watching You (page 5).
This is clear evidence that the government is watching over its people. Shortly afterwards we learn of
the Thought Police , who snoop in on conversations sort of like how the government does today, and
always watch your every move (surveillence cameras) controlling the acts and thoughts of the people.

Buca Di Beppo
Buca Di Beppo on the corner of Rush and Grand is a must go restaurant for Italian food cravers. Buca
di Beppo is a collection of neighborhood restaurants with an authentic Italian menu for everyone to
enjoy. Their magnificent Italian dishes are meant to be shared and served family style, perfect for
passing around the table. The first Buca di Beppo opened its doors in 1993 in the basement of a
Minneapolis apartment building. Since then, Buca Inc expanded the chain of 92 establishments, which
include 87 companies in the U.S. and 5 franchises in UK.

They gave a great portion for the price they offered it for. The fried calamari was very fresh when it
was brought to our table. I loved how they made some crispy and some tender. The marinara sauce
they brought along with the calamari was absolutely fabulous, they added a small spice into the sauce
giving a little kick but I loved it.
When our entrees came out I was shocked. I didn t believe how much they give you every time. Buca
is very generous with their portions and does great job of making their famous pastas. The chicken
Parmigianino was absolutely fabulous. The chicken had a nice texture to it especially when you cut it
up. The chicken was just so tender and juicy and even crunchy due to the crunchy outside. The
marinara sauce on top of it was different from what they gave with the calamari and it was amazing.
You can tell the freshness of the tomatoes and the basil they use for their sauce. The pasta went really
well with the chicken. On the other hand the chicken alfredo was not what I had anticipated. I love
cheese, but the amount of cheese they had on this pasta was just overwhelming. The thickness of the
sauce was just way too much for my taste buds. The chicken in the alfredo was just as tender and
delicious as the Parmigianino, but the sauce of the alfredo really disappointed me. The first few bites
were incredible but it got very difficult to eat because it wasn t as creamy as I wanted it to be. The
cheese got cold really

Teenagers Are Irresponsible, Emotional, Narcissistic And...
A widespread opinion in the United States today is that teenagers are irresponsible, emotional,
narcissistic and ungrateful. While it may not necessarily be the fault of the teenagers themselves,
rather their parents instead, the opinion is still there. Along with this opinion is the assumption that
you cannot trust teenagers with big, cumbersome responsibilities, they can t handle it. While teenagers
can be emotional and at times irresponsible, that doesn t mean they cannot make a difference or have
an effect on history. In some places in the world teenagers and even preteens are forced into marriages
and responsibilities that teenagers of the western world just wouldn t be able to handle. Therefore,
teenagers, given the opportunity and just the right circumstances, can make a difference, they can be
given large responsibilities and hold to them. It s all about upbringing and the situation at hand. Raised
in part by a wildly conservative stepmother in a time when women having an education in and of itself
was taboo, Mary Shelley is a prime example of a young adult that overcame challenges to do
something so extraordinary that it still has an effect nearly 200 years later. Her stepmother was so
stringently conservative that she was forced to teach herself to read and write from her father s
immense library. Both her father and biological mother were both some of the most renowned authors
and political philosophers. Believing fervently in female independence and equality,

Throughout the show there were prominent dances such as the Charleston, Cakewalk, and the Lindy Hop. There are very distinguished people such as James Brown, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Supremes, Michael Jackson and Prince along with many more. This gave me a more insightful look on what happened through the history and how the evolution of music and dances had cycled through. Through the different dances there has been a style change with how the dancers move within the dance. As time goes on there appeared to be less and lesser clothing on the dancers. I have seen first hand how dance styles changed through my life. The changes between what music is popular and how to dance to the song. Throughout being taught at dance school, there were variations of provocatively that certain dance styles would partake in. Jazz dance and hip hop were seen to be more of the risqué dance forms that the costumes showed more skin. Is the changing of dance costumes being influenced by what we see on music videos? Is it related to the stripper culture we ve spoken about in class? Some of the changes have been drastic with the costumes or the choice of dance moves, but some are very subtle such as liturgical or modern dances that have had much of a change in the culture of the dance. This show glorifies how dancing can be made into whatever the dancer wants it to be. I found this movie beneficial because it let me think more intimately with my paper topic about clogging. Hitchcock purposely had the scene set up to be parallel and symmetrical. Having Roger and his car on the left side and Eve and her car on the other side. Sun Tzu Theory Essay The Relevancy of Sun Tzu s Theory for XXI Century Is the Sun Tzu s theory of war relevant for the nature and character of XXI century wars, despite the finding that, most probably, the author wrote it more than 2500 years ago in his famous treatise, The Art of War? This complex question becomes more important if we take into consideration the age of his ideas and difference in character of wars fought in the current century and those fought before that. Catholic Education meant different things to me at different stages of my life. From kindergarten to around grade 5, Catholic Education was just education. I knew public schools existed. I understood that Catholic schools engaged students in the Catholic faith. Like my peers I would pray, listen during religion lessons, and sit cross legged on the gymnasium floor, cramped together with 500 other students. The masses meant nothing to me. However, it brings together people who (most of the time) come from a Catholic/Christian backgrounds, and creates a sense of community. For that I appreciate Catholic Education. What I do not find as nice about Catholic schools is that despite being centred around religion, people in Catholic schools can be just as mean spirited, rude, and uncompassionate as people in public schools, if not worse. I am aware that it is unrealistic to assume that those in Catholic schools are all wonderful people, but I find reality ironic. In my opinion, Catholic Education is like public education, except Catholic students have school masses and are obligated to take religion courses. As I introduced previously, being subject to Catholic Education and those devoutly religious for the better part of 13 years has guided me to my brand of Catholicism so to speak. Catholic Education has inadvertently, or possibly intentionally, started me off on my own spiritual path by showing me what I do not like about Catholicism (eg. the belief that not going to church is bad). When counselees walk into the therapist s office, they are often at one of the lowest points of their lives, bringing with them a lifetime of hurts, questions, and crises. The counselor s view of the Gospel must be full enough to encompass the life of the hurting person. In those moments, a counselor will rely on years of hard work and discipline to make decisions that impact a person for life. A counselor must be prepared to do everything right yet still have the client walk away gaining nothing. Biblical counseling requires excellence in mind, personal discipline, and compassion, driven by a desire to glorify God and faith in His grace and sovereignty. There is nothing like Biblical counseling to see the Gospel work. • 33. Military Services Act Essay Title: Military Services Act In 1917 during WW1, the Canadian government justified in enacting the Military Services Act to register and conscript men for war. Almost all French Canadians opposed conscription because they felt they had no loyalty to France and Britain. Other Canadians were at ease with the conscription as they supported the British Empire. The farmers, union heads, and pacifists were all opposed of the conscription like the French Canadians. I believe the Military Services Act was not the best choice because it ripped up the relations between the English and the French Canadians, it eliminated the freedom of the people by forcing them to go to war, and caused a riot in Quebec City leading to a few deaths. On the Easter Monday the crowds organized against the military presence in the city. Armed rioters started to fire at the troops and vise versa. There was an estimated four men killed by the fire and dozens injured. These riots represent one of the most violent disturbances in Canadian history. These riots erupted over conscription, which grew from how things were before in French Canadian nationalism. The military crackdown that lasted in Quebec until the end of the war resulted in an increase in state power in the growing of French Canadian nationalism. These riots over the conscription and the French Canadians sticking to their ways lead to a many difficult and unpleasant times in Quebec. The Military Services Act had more cons than pros as it destroyed the relationship of the English Canadians and the French Canadians, it limited the freedom of the males by forcing them to attend war and fight, and also caused a dangerous and damaging riot in Quebec. By the spring of 1918, the government had amended the Military Services Act so that there were no exemptions. This left many English Canadians opposed. A big part of creating this fear is deciding on what words to use when presenting the enemy to the public. The language used to convey the nature of the threat is different in a country such as Spain than it is in America (Wolf). For example, the citizens of Spain are told that there is a grave security threat whereas American citizens are lead to believe, that we are potentially threatened with the end of civilization. Of course, this makes us [Americans] more willing to accept restrictions on our freedoms (Wolf). The tactic of using different words to feed off larger fears of the public allows the leader to control a larger majority. • 35. Birth Control And Fertility Birth Control and Fertility One of the most common misconceptions circling society for years is how the use of contraceptives (birth control) can affect women s fertility. Birth control is a mixture of hormones that thicken the cervical mucus to prevent the ovaries from ovulating eggs, as well as changing the lining of the uterus to make reproduction difficult. For this reason, women use multiple contraceptive methods to help with hormonal issues, menstrual problems, ovarian disorders, but the most common use is for the prevention of pregnancy. So how does a medication that prevents one from getting pregnant not affect fertility, especially for those who utilize it for years? Ever since the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved contraceptives in 1960, it has become one of the most thoroughly tested medications. With a few notable exceptions, immediately after you stop using birth control, your fertility will go right back to what it was destined to be, says Dr. Paul Blumenthal, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Johns Hopkins University Medical School. By this he means that problems conceiving may be attributed to age, disorders, and other factors that can lead to infertility, but the contraceptive itself does not affect it once you stop utilizing it. In fact, studies show that birth control improves fertility by helping cure ovarian disorders that lead to infertility, as well as an infertility treatment to patients that cannot conceive. The main Theme of this movie is Faith. The plot and Characters develop this theme in a few ways. When the film opens up we have a bank robbery scene in the city of gotham and we encounter the joker, our antagonist. Because of this we see a chain of crimes happening around the city and the people of Gotham turn their faith toward the Batman. This is the basic plot of the film where the protagonists are trying to restore people s faith back into the city and the police force. The characters develop this theme by carrying out the plot of the film and helping restore faith back into the city. The visual design plays a big role in developing the film s theme. A majority of the time the films color is dark and the colors palate that is used is to the darker side. The setting of this movie is determiner of character because it takes place in a setting that Batman doesn t have too much control over and he is working to protect that and survive in that place. We also see a setting for sheer visual impact at times such as when we see a deep focus camera shot of the entire city and see how much chaos is going on and what the protagonists are trying to do to restore faith back into the city. Orwell hints that when the government (Big Brother), holds too much power they become crooked and devious towards the rest of the population. In a nutshell Orwell is conveying that a corrupt government destroys all chances for an ideal society. Collectively, George Orwell made a prediction of what was going to happen, and it has become a reality to some extent. Overall this is a great book for the current political state. As Lewis Beale states in his CNN article nearly all public and private places have large TV screens that broadcast government propaganda, news and approved entertainment. But they are also two way monitors that spy on citizens private lives. Today websites like Facebook track our likes and dislikes, and governments and private individuals hack into our computers and find out what they want to know. Then there are the ever present surveillance cameras that spy on the average person as they go about their daily routine . The first clear example occurs with the posters with the words Big Brother is Watching You (page 5). This is clear evidence that the government is watching over its people. While it may not necessarily be the fault of the teenagers themselves, rather their parents instead, the opinion is still there. Along with this opinion is the assumption that you cannot trust teenagers with big, cumbersome responsibilities, they can t handle it. While teenagers can be emotional and at times irresponsible, that doesn t mean they cannot make a difference or have an effect on history. In some places in the world teenagers and even preteens are forced into marriages and responsibilities that teenagers of the western world just wouldn t be able to handle.
