Examples Of Happiness In Candide
Wealth Vs Happiness
In Voltaire s Candide the issue of wealth doesn t buy you happiness is seen through a lot of characters
and mainly Candide. Candide grows up in the home of Baron, his tutor, Pangalos, teaches him that
their world is the best of all possible worlds, and everything that transpires in this world is for the best.
Candide admires the Baron s beautiful daughter, Cunegonde, and they share a kiss after one evening.
Cunegonde s father sees the young lovers kiss, and he immediately banishes Candide from his home.
This incident begins a miraculous series of misfortunes for all of the novel s characters. Candide

Simply because it allows one to live an easier life, a life which one is guaranteed shelter, food, and
better health. Candide leaves the land of Eldorado with a lot of fortune. When Candide leaves with
this fortune, it looks as if the worst of his problems might be over. Being arrested and fighting with
people might be over as he will bribe his way out. Alas, he finds out that this money has nothing to do
with him being happy, instead it invites a lot of fake friends and thieves in his life. Yet, he is still
unhappy even though he is a wealthy man. He loses most of his fortune when Vanderdendur, a ship
captain, escapes with most of his money.() By so doing, he loses his confidence in his belief of that all
happens for the best hits the low. Candide seem to not find any happiness although he has all the
wealth that he can look

A Comparison Of Abraham Lincoln And Nathan Bedford Forrest
The Civil War was the most divisive moment in American History, and decided the fate of the Union
forever. It created many of the social and political divides and contrasts in culture that are still seen in
today s world. The war was the eruption that had been brewing since the birth of the United States.
Two of the important figures in the Civil War period are Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford
Forrest. Both were influential in their own respective countries and both were seen as great leaders by
their own countries citizens. If the South won the war, Forrest would have been seen as more of a hero
than he is in the world today. Because the Union won the war, though, the more important figure is
Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was also more influential than Nathan Bedford Forrest because
of his honest character, compassion, and determination. Abe Lincoln was able to win people over
because of his understanding of society. He showed attributes that, at the time, were more caring and
loving than most people. For example, in some of his speeches from Illinois, he took a stance against
slavery. He questioned if slavery was morally and constitutionally right, which was a big risk at the
time. This move won over the liberal citizens in America, but greatly alienated the South, especially
when Abe Lincoln won the election of 1860. His determination was another huge factor to him being a
great influence. Even though he started out not taking the War seriously, which causes the Union to
lose some important battles, these losses are a wake up call for Lincoln, which reinvigorates him to
fight back against the South and win the war, saving the Union and freeing the slaves. This ended up
being his greatest strength, and what decides how he is remembered in history forever. While Lincoln
is more remembered in history, on the other side of the coin is Nathan Bedford Forrest. Even though
he was on the losing side, he was still well respected by people on both sides of the war, unlike
Lincoln who was hated by the South. He went down as a great general and a great tactician in the
Civil War. However, unlike Lincoln, his reputation is blown out of proportion and misinformed by
bias. In the South, he was remembered as a

Software Testing Is A Technical Task

Abstract
Software testing is a technical task, but it also involves some important considerations of economics
and human psychology. In technical aspects it is the process of analyzing a software item to detect the
differences between existing and required conditions (that is defects/errors/bugs) and to evaluate the
features of the software item . A software error occurs when the program does not do, what its end
user reasonably expects it to do.
Software testing is more difficult because of the vast array of programming languages, operating
systems, and hardware platforms that have evolved but at the same time ... Show more content on

Introduction
Software engineering provides the framework for building the high quality software. It integrates the
various strategies, methods and tools for the software development. The revolution of software
engineering offers the different types of software development models. It majorly ratifies the
performance of the software through the testing and maintenance phase of the software.
The testing move toward the static testing (human testing) and dynamic testing (Computer aided
testing).
There are some basic strategies that qualify the software to make sure it s good performance. These
strategies listed below
Structure testing
 White box testing( developer testing)
 focuses on the inner structure of the test object
Function testing
 Black box testing ( user testing)
 Behavior given by the specification The validation improves the performance of testing by
increasing the confidence in the quality issues of the software.
System Testing
System testing is not a process of testing the functions of the complete system or program, because
this would be redundant with the process of function testing. This testing has a particular purpose as to

The External Factors Of Graphic Design And The Definition...
The following sections highlights some of the relevant literature, specifically about the history of
graphic design, the definition of graphic design and the external factors affecting a graphic designer s
role. Some relevant studies relating to graphic designs and designers can be named such as the
definition of graphic design developed by Jessica Helfand or Cezzar, the book named How to be a
graphic designer, without losing your soul ? by Shaughnessy (2008), Do good design: how designers
can change the world by David B.Berman, The production manual: a graphic design handbook by

Definition of Graphic Design Graphic design is well known as visual communication where there is a
combination of the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and
textual content. The production encompasses identity, publication, advertisements, website graphics
and product packaging (Cezzar, n.d.). According to Jessica Helfand, an American designer, author and
educator, had a definition about graphic design as the following:
Graphic design is a visual language uniting harmony and balance, color and light, scale and tension,
form and content. But it is also an idiomatic language, a language of cues and puns and symbols and
allusions, of cultural references and perceptual inferences and that challenge both the intellect and the
eye (Helfand, cited in Shaughnessy, 2008) In other words, it could be said that graphic design helps to
form the unique identity of specific subjects. From Helfand s perspective, graphic design is not only
aesthetic and communicative territory, but also a language in visual and idiomatic that graphic
designers are required to learn through education and experience. ii. What does a graphic designer do

Social Play Analysis
A). Play as defined in our book is an activity that is intrinsically motivated, focused on means rather
than ends, different from purely exploratory behavior, nonliteral, and free from externally applies rules
(Gross, 225). There are different types of play such as play with objects, social play, and pretend
symbolic play. Play with objects depends on age for example a child between the age of birth to 4
months uses exploratory type of play, repetitive motor movements such kicking legs, reaching for or
sucking their toes, and rolling over. Whereas a child who is between the age of 24 months and 36
months uses fine motor play which allows them to play with Play doh and put together puzzles. Social
play is playing with a responsive human playmate. This could be the child s mother, father or
caregiver. Pretend/symbolic play usually emerges after the first birthday, when children behave in a
nonliteral way, acting as if they were performing familiar routines, such as eating, going to sleep, or
washing their face (Gross, 195). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This topic is interesting to me as it amazes me how as we grow playing takes different forms to us. It
is also interesting because as we get older we can give meaning to objects making playing more
intentional. Playing also caught my attention as before reading about this topic in our book I would
have never correlated pointing and naming games as mothers using it as a way to teach their child, I
use to believe they would do this just to have fun with their child. I was interested in this topic as well
because I never knew play was different in cultures I always believed it meant the same thing. It also
interested me as when I get older and have kids of my own I will use play to teach, a process known as

ABSTRACT Glycine betaine is a compatible organic metabolite which is synthesized and
accumulated in pulses, cereals, grasses and many microbes in response to different types of stress. It
has been shown to exhibit enhanced tolerance of plants to salt stress. In this investigation we
examined the effects of salt stress and synthesis of glycine betaine on leaf protease activity in Lucerne
plants. Sodium chloride stress was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The present work, therefore, was conducted to evaluate the role of glycine betaine in protecting the
proteins inleucerne plants through protease enzyme activity from being damaged by salt stress. On the
basis of our results we discuss the response of leucerne plants to salt stress and glycine betaine.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Purification of Protease The leucerne plant leaves are procured from 70 days old plants and allowed to
stand for two days in a humidity controlled dark growth chamber at 340C. The leaves were
homogenized with 0.1M phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) containing 0.4M sucrose and 0.05M sodium
ascorbate in a waring blender. Filtered homogenate was (I in Table 1) was squeezed through a gauze
and centrifuged at 2000 rpm for 20 mins. The supernatant (II in Table 1) was adjusted to pH 5.0 by the
addition of 1N acetic acid and allowed to stand overnight. The precipitate was removed by
centrifugation and the supernatant (III in Table 1) was subjected to ammonium sulphate fractionation
between 0.25 and 0.9 saturation. The ammonium sulphate precipitate was suspended in 0.0025M Mc
llvain buffer (pH 5.5) containing 2.5 × 10 3 M sodium ascorbate and dialyzed against the same buffer
at 40C for 20 hrs. The dialysate (IV in Table 1) was centrifuged and the supernatant was fractionated
by the addition of ethanol at 50C. A fraction precipitating between 20 and 60% ethanol was collected
and dialyzed in the same way.

Nixon And The Watergate Scandal
Patriotism means to stand by the country not by the president. Though everyone agrees that Colson
will be sent to jail if he caught they disagree whether he should have worked for Nixon in the
Watergate scandal. Colson was offered a position to help Nixon with special interactions such as
getting rid of the men who released Pentagon Papers and help Nixon win the 2nd election. Charles
Colson should not have agreed to work for Nixon with the Watergate scandal for three reasons. He has
a family he would lose, there would be punishment, and he would jeopardize national security.
The first reason Charles Colson should not have agreed to work for Nixon with the Watergate scandal
is because Colson would lose his family. He would be removed

Data Mining, Partition Based Clustering
Abstract Nowadays, Popularity of Internet and wide improvement in enterprise information is leading
to vast research in text and data mining, and information filtering. So, the cluster technology is
becoming the core of text mining. Clustering is an important form of data mining. Clustering is a
process of grouping similar sets of data into a group, called clusters. This paper comprises of text
clustering algorithms, also analysis and comparison of the algorithms are done with respect to the
applicable scope, the initial parameters , size of dataset, accuracy, dimensionality, cluster shape and
noise sensitivity. Algorithms are classified as partitioned based clustering, hierarchical clustering,
density based , self organizing maps and fuzzy clustering techniques. The brief idea of each clustering
technique is mentioned in this paper.

The Kenya Shifta War and Realism
The Kenyan Shifta War (1963 1968) and its Realism base and Power Pursuit.
In this essay I am going to discuss the Kenyan war that has emerged in 1963 due to long lasting
grievances about bad treatment from British colonial isolation and ethnic Somali in Kenya irredentism
drive to unite all other five Somali lands with Kenya into a greater Somalia. The issue of British
colony had otherwise been much less to do with this war, the main reason to war was that of
irredentism by Somalis. This conflict went on as Somalis resisted from being governed by a dark
skinned government of the Prime Minister Jomo Kenyatta while at the same time seek unity. Somali
seek independence at the expense of Kenya. Somalia wanted to be in power to rule a unified ... Show

Going to war was the better option they thought of, this is because they are Muslims by religion and
they thought going to war with Kenya was just. Now that s the realists way of dealing with
uncertainty. In my opinion, Realism was the ruling political system that existed in this conflict.
Great Britain as the father of Kenya due to colonization had to intervene to try and bring about an end
to this war between Kenya and Somalia. The question is, how was it going to do that? The answer to
that question is otherwise simple. It starts with the reason why would Great Britain colonise Kenya,
and that is because Kenya has an abundance of raw materials that Britain was exploiting. Somalia with
their non profit making legacy of irredentism was to be a bad effects to how Britain rules Kenya.
Britain had to protect its source of profit by helping Kenya defeat Somalia. Britain then supplied
Kenya with arms to fight back Somalia so that the war will come to an early end so that Britain will
continue with the exploitation of raw materials from Kenya. So literally speaking, Somalia was just an
itch that Britain had to scratch off. Britain even took some of Kenyans and trained them for war so
that they will fight Somalis effectively and strategically to lead to an early end of war. This act by
Britain is influenced by the system of realism as it wasn t interested in

Final Draft Paper 4
Human Mind Control
OCD is a phrase that gets to the existential core of worry, a clenched, demonic doubting that overrides
evidence, empiricism, plain common sense (Slater234). The meme theory states that a meme consists
of everything that is passed from person to person (Blackmore 37). In Strange Creatures by Susan
Blackmore and Who Holds the Clicker? by Lauren Slater both authors discuss the control humans
have over their minds. In Who Holds the Clicker Lauren Slater discusses DBS (deep brain
simulation), which is a type of psychosurgery in which electrical impulses are sent to certain portions
of the brain to control and change the emotions one feels. She discusses both the positive and
negatives of deep brain simulation through a specific patient named Mario and also presents the
control DBS can have over one s mind. Similarly, Blackmore in Strange Creatures discusses the meme
theory, which consists of any idea that is passed down from person to person. Both authors provide
information that allows people to draw conclusions relating to why people do not have control over
their minds. Even though some people believe that humans do have control over their minds,
Blackmore and Slater both successfully portray that in actuality humans do not have any control over
their minds because human thoughts and ideas are unoriginal products of external forces, many human
thoughts occur at deeper level of consciousness, and

A Desire Unspoken In Baby Driver By Edgar Wright
A Desire Unspoken Women should be seen, not heard. A phrase not unfamiliar to most, at some point
in her life all girls have heard something along the lines of this. A phrase that dictates that a woman s
worth lies in her appearance and outer beauty and not in her mind. A phrase that praises the traits of
obedience and submission and shames those who speak their minds. Throughout history women s
lives have always been used in the service of others. Being a quite daughter who listens to her father,
being a silent wife who obeys her husband. Never complaining, never wanting anything for
themselves, just selfless, serving, and silent. A girl grows up learning not to strive for her own
happiness, but to make others happy. A woman must be self sacrificing and put the wants and needs of
her family before her own desires. This idea that a woman must sacrifice her own happiness for others
is apparent in our own society and in our media. Time and time again women are used as tragic
martyrs to further the character development of men. Look at this years popular film Baby Driver by
Edgar Wright. The love interest Deborah is given no complexities or personality of her own. She only
exists in relation to the main character and is there to make him happy and feel good. Even in current
films and media women are still being portrayed as one dimensional props whose only purpose is to
look pretty and be agreeable. That is why watching the movie Carol by Todd Haynes felt like a breath

Macbeth s Three Witches
In Shakespeare s Macbeth, it is debatable whether the Three Witches, also known as the Weird Sisters,
or Macbeth, the main character, are responsible for his death. The choice is up to the audience. Either
the witches are agents of impartial fate who torture for fun and are emissaries from Hell sent to
torture, or Macbeth is a victim of his actions and decisions.
Macbeth s hidden desires bring out his major character flaw of greed and falling under the influence of
others. The flaws are responsible for his change of personality which create his delusional actions and
his unthoughtful decisions. For Macbeth to get what he wants, he includes violence, which is shown
many times throughout the play. For example, when he first encounters the witches,

What Is Stretching Essay
Benefits of Stretching
The body is flexible. It is supposed to be flexible. You must be able to bend and reach that something
you dropped on the floor. You must be able to zip the back of your favorite dress on your own. You
must be able to reach that book you need to read at the top shelf. These are simple activities. Nothing
grand about them, you merely stretched out a bit. However, if there are difficulties in doing such
simple motions, then you have to stretch your limits. You already need a stretching program.
What Is Stretching?
Stretching is simply the act of extending to full length the body or simply a part of it. This activity
involves straightening or stretching the structure or the limbs.
How Does One Do the Stretching?
Stretching is fairly easy. As mentioned in the introduction, it is involved in the normal activities. It can

It can be incorporated in the lifestyle and the daily activities. It does not require much of your time.
Stretching exercises can also be done while training. Actually, stretching is an essential part of any
training or sport. It must be done first before anything else. Stretching the body and the limbs is a
good preparation for a more rigorous activity. Most athletes would do the sit and reach, wherein they
position on the floor, extend their legs and reach the tip of their foot with the tip of their hand.
Actually, most trainers actually require their athletes to really do the stretching before playing. There
is actually an ideal length of time in stretching. It is best to do it in 10 minutes. This will give the body
enough opportunity to move and flex the muscles, thus preparing it for more complicated and
strenuous movements. Experts however would frown upon going way beyond 10 minutes. Stretching
the exercise to 30 minutes or more will already wear out the body. This will not be favorable if one is
preparing for a

How Do Person-Centred Counsellors Use the Therapeutic...
How do person centred counsellors use the therapeutic relationship to facilitate change and in what
way (s) does person centred therapy differ from other helping relationships? word count: 2,495
Person centred counselling originated and was evolved on the ideas of American psychologist Carl
Rogers. The influences on Carl Rogers and he s conceptualisation of Person centred counselling are
numerous, from his early family life living on a farm, his interest and involvement in theology and his
formative professional career. One incident which appears to have had a particular impact on Carl
Rogers was when working in his first job as a psychologist, at Rochester New York, for an
organisation for the prevention of cruelty to children, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These correct conditions which are required within person centred therapy in order that the client can
achieve self actualisation and personality change were outlined by Carl Rogers and he believed that if
this 6 conditions were met, it would facilitate change within the client: Two persons are in
psychological contact both client and counsellor are present physically and psychologically. The client
is in a state of incongruence, (which will be discussed in more detail) the communication of the
counsellor s empathetic understanding and unconditional positive regard is met at a minimal level.
The last condition mentioned involves 3 other conditions, which are essential attitudes and qualities
necessary for the counsellor to posses for successful therapy; empathic understanding, unconditional
positive regard and congruence. (Rogers C, 1957).
Before looking at the latter 3 in more detail, it is important to understand Carl Rogers s view of the
person and perhaps what is ultimately bringing the client to therapy. Carl Rogers believed that there is
incongruence between the self that is the actualisation part, that has a desire to grow, is open to
experiencing in the moment and ultimately psychological well being and the actual experience of the
self. He believed this effect was caused

The Effects Of Chemicals On The Environment
Introduction
Considerable advancements in science and technology were realized right after the Second World War.
As a result of the advancement of science and technology, new methods of farming and the use of
chemicals like DDT and aerosols among others was introduced. All these technological developments
led to environmental deterioration leading to high risks on the environment as a whole. Rachel Carson
was the first person to write a book on the effects of chemicals on the environment (Pepper, Webster,
Revill, 2003). Her book inspired many people to change their behaviors towards the environment,
leading to the birth of environmentalism.
Description of Environmentalism
Environmentalism is a social movement with concerns for environmental protection. Since the
existence of the universe, man has had power over all living and non living things. It became the norm
for humans to just receive from Mother Nature without giving back at all. This human behavior
caused the earth to reach an optimum level of sustenance and it began deteriorating. The
contamination of the Earth s air, water, land and vegetation is considered by (Carson, 2002) as an
assault on the environment. The destruction of the conditions that make this world habitable was on
the rise, placing the sustainability of the universe at high risk. People, therefore, had to come up with a
way to reverse the situation or else the Earth would be unsustainable. Toxic chemicals that were used
between the 1950 s and

will help with the recovery of Nissan. Operations Management (OM) is the set of activities that
creates value in the form of goods and services by transforming inputs into outputs (Heizer Render,
2014). Nissan uses operations management functions, such as organizing, leading, planning, staffing,
and controlling, which are all related to the supply chain, to generate value (Heizer et al., 2014). This
management process helps correctly address operations decisions. For Nissan, the leading OM output
is automobiles, but to make this company run ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This helped the company and its customers when doing business with other regions and people,
specifically dealing with communication problems. Finally, distinguished from the competitors,
Nissan was able to provide a simple product line. The company adopted a build to stock strategy for
just a few SKUs in each model and a build to order strategy for the rest (Schmid et al., 2013).
Management states that this strategy has allowed Nissan to pick and chose what they wanted in the
vehicles, in order to fulfill the needs of their customers, which increased sales as well. Nissan s
customers feel appreciated and that their voice matters too, which builds loyalty and more sales for the
company. Nissan has been able to achieve a competitive advantage using OM. A competitive
advantage is the creation of a unique advantage over competitors (Heizer et al., 2014), which Nissan
has been able to do with the operations function and keeping a focus on flexibility. In January 2012,
Nissan announced that it would increase the localized production of its cars in the America from
approximately 70% to 90% by 2015. This displayed a competitive advantage against other automobile
manufacturers following the impact of a massive earthquake, a nuclear emergency, and a tsunami.
Since financial crises in 2008 had caused higher costs, the company used localized production to
lower those costs. Nissan has actually established a competitive

techniques are presented by using existing techniques such as Singular value decomposition, wavelet
difference reduction (WDR) and Adaptive wavelet difference reduction (ASWDR). The SVD has been
taken as a standard technique to hybrid with WDR and ASWDR. Firstly SVD is combined with WDR
(SVD WDR) and after that it is combined with its advance version that is ASWDR (SVD ASWDR) in
order to achieve better image quality and higher compression rate. These two techniques are
implemented or tested on several images and results are compared in terms of PSNR, MSE and CR.

Introduction
The supermarket wars has been increasingly frustrating for consumers as sometimes consumers tend
not to know where to get the best deals, as they all advertise the same price and brands, in the UK
companies such as Tesco and Asda advertise and sell the same products but also claim to low on prices
for the customer satisfaction, but in fact they charge more when it comes to their own brands, looking
in the telecommunication sector is clear that with the privatization of the telecommunications industry,
the mobile phone industry experiences transformations that enhance the dynamics of competition.

Consumerism In The Hippie Movement
The 1960s Hippie movement was a major point in the American history. In the 1960s a certain class of
young people associated their lifestyles with the ideas of freedom, peace, and love. Hippies acted
against white upper middle class lifestyle because they thought it was based on the wrong ideology.
Hippies were against consumerism and American suburban life of the late 1950s and early 1960s was
embodied in itself the idea of consumerism. Hippies, on the other hand, felt better about communal
life with equal distribution of social goods. Traditional bigger share and consumerist greed as concepts
of American society were despised by Hippies. White middle class suburban America with its
traditional values and financial prosperity of baby boom generation was ideologically unfit for the
energetic American youth. Seeing half of the world starving (Africa, India, China) Hippies considered
it highly inappropriate to bath in economic prosperity and technological progress with half of the
world being deprived of basic human needs. That way Hippies alienated them from their parents
presenting an alternative lifestyle to that of consumerism. Traditional business like lifestyle of white
middle class in America was based on financial success and economic prosperity as the features of
happiness. Hippies claimed that happiness does not come from money but goes along with peace,
love, and unity (Moretta, 45). While typical American family built a house and occupied a huge

Before The Individual Referendums For Scottish Independence
Before the individual referendums for Scottish independence and EU independence political interest
and election turnout amongst young people was statistically low and steadily decreasing. This changed
for the referendums but it is doubtful however there will be a high turnout of young people in
forthcoming local and national elections. Young people tend to vote on single topics, for single issue
parties and in referendums more than elections. If 16 year olds could vote more needs to be done to
gain young people s interest in politics.
Young people are interested in politics, and do have faith in the democratic process. Nonetheless, the

There would also be an increase in manifestos aimed to be of interest to and benefit to young people
because politicians would want their vote. There would also be a rise in policies aimed at young
people of all classes, gender and sexual orientation. Single issue based referendums may educate
young people about the consequences of their vote but politics learnt from citizenship in school would
teach young people about the differences in political parties, and the consequences, such as having the
referendum at all.
On the one hand, turnout among 16 and 17 year olds was about 10 percentage points below overall
turnout. On the other hand, 16 and 17 year olds were more likely to vote than those aged 18 to 34. The
same trend is evident elsewhere too. In Austria the only European state with votes at 16 for national
elections this age bracket votes less than the entire population but more than the subsequent bracket.
(Alan Renwick and Barney McCay 2015). Politics as a standalone subject would encourage more
participation as the combination of lessons about policy, media and up to date current affairs would
personally relate to the individuals such as parents being fined for truancy, free school meals etc.
Citizenship lessons educate young people about morals and principles within society. Teaching
politics in schools would also educate and inform young people about political parties manifestos.

Essay on New Billing Business Network Proposal
New Billing Business Network Proposal
David Moser
Strayer University
CIS 175 Introduction to Networking
My neighbor comes to me about a small startup billing business, he requires an information
technology design specification that will meet a tight budget $5000.00. Included in the business
requirements are two workstations, Internet access, one printer, multiple email addresses, basic
security, and a maintenance cost ceiling of $200.00 per month. I have made the following proposal to
my neighbor to meet his IT needs.
To ensure maximum flexibility and reliability I recommend that the network be configured as a
wireless only network. The number of devices is relatively small; two workstations, one printer and
one router ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Microsoft Office 2007 is recommended for compatibility with other businesses, as Microsoft Office is
the business standard for office document formats. For the same reason Adobe Acrobat is
recommended for all documents that will be published as read only or as forms with active fields.
Norton Internet Security is recommended with a 3 year subscription for updates to protect against
malware. A UPS (one for each workstation) will protect both hardware and software from the common
occurrence of power dips and surges that can cause damage and require maintenance and repair. The
cost for each workstation with all the items I have discussed is $1500.00 U.S.
In order to save on monthly expenses and decrease maintenance costs I recommend sourcing both of
these requirements from the same vendor. An ADSL premium service will meet the needs of the new
business while also staying below the monthly budget constraints. It will provide Internet access at a
bandwidth of 6 Mbps download and 768 Kbps upload which will cover the needs of a small business
that uses the Internet for primarily email. This service includes a main email account and up to 10 sub
accounts however I recommend adding the Business Email service from AT T which features 25 email
addresses and a domain name for the business that will properly identify the new business to existing
and future customers

Wonwoo Alternate Ending
The sky was a luscious mixture of oranges, pinks, and blues as the sun set beyond the city and behind
the mountains. Smoke rose from the tall city, ashes of buildings and dead bodies rising into the air.
You know, despite the fact the world is falling apart, it s still beautiful. Mingyu took a sip of his

throat.
The two boys sat in a car parked in the parking lot of their old high school building, a way out from

Regression Analysis For A Dependence Method
Regarding the testing of the hypotheses of this research, regression analysis or structural equation
modelling techniques is best suited for a dependence method (Hair et al., 2014). We employed
regression analysis to specify the extent to which the independent variables predicted the dependent
variable. The analysis conducted in this study was therefore intended to test the hypotheses of the
study. The regression output provided some measures which allow assessment of the hypotheses.
Following from the hypotheses, Brand Engagement was used as the dependent variable while the
independent variables consisted of Monetary Savings, Exploration, Entertainment, Recognition, and
Social Benefit. Results from the model assessment are presented in the Table VI. Insert table VI
Results from the model assessment indicate strong and significant reliabilities among the constructs
used in the study (F = 87.362, Prob.F stats 0.001). This was followed by Exploration (β = 0.102, t =
2.271, P = 0.024 0.05), as well as Entertainment (β = 0.081, t = 1.712, P = 0.068 0.10). Although
Recognition was positively related to Brand Engagement, it was not statistically significant (β =
0.051, t = 1.084, P = 0.279 0.05). It was however discovered that Monetary savings was inversely
related to Brand Engagement (β = .009, t = 0.194) as well as statistically not significant in the current
study (P = 0.846 0.05). In consequence, hypotheses one and four (H1 and H4) were rejected in our

In James v. Meow Media Inc., Michael Carneal, an avid video gamer, is responsible for the murder of
his high school peers. Research of Carneal s daily habits showed that the content of his video games
was a potential cause of his disastrous behavior. When dealing with a minor, factors of life while
approaching the level of maturity must be taken into consideration. This case shows the ease in which
fingers are pointed in efforts to protect a child in need of help. Negligence was the common theme for
why the affected families felt Meow Media owed a duty of care. In the case of a 14 year old minor, the

family (Moore, Petrie , Braga McLaughlin, 2003). The symptoms of Carneal s illnesses were apparent
in his daily interactions. By being aware of familial disorders and observing his socially dysfunctional
behavior, proper precautions could have been taken sooner. Parents observe the behaviors of their
children each day and, therefore, owe a duty of care. Meow Media Inc. made and sold their video
games with no intention of them falling into the hands of a troubled child. The likelihood of a
mentally/emotionally stable individual taking action to endanger innocent lives in order to mimic a

Language And Communication Essay
Language is shared among all humans, but it is hardly straightforward. As mentioned in our many
lectures, Ferdinand de Saussure described language as ...series of differences of sound combined with
a series of differences of ideas. As such, there is a linguistic influence on our thoughts. Language is
much more than communicating because it can also be representational on how we think about
ourselves and the world that surrounds us. It is because we use language to express our thoughts,
feelings, and ideas, that these communications shape the process of how we think and feel. It is
something that is continuously evolving over time. Some languages can cease to exist, but new forms
can arrive in their place. This is especially so when two different languages make contact. However, it
s not necessarily the languages themselves making contact, but the people who speak those languages.
The world has a history of people migrating to new places around the globe; people like explorers and
nomads and prisoners and slaves who settle in new lands. Through these travels, many people from
different cultures and languages meet, but how can they communicate effectively? What if people are
forced to live in a place where no one speaks their native tongue? In these type of situations is what
forms a pidgin, or a kind of language used to facilitate contact and relationships between persons of
two or more languages. Trade and colonization is a critical factor of when this type of supplemental

The Helicopter Flight Controls Of Fly By Wire System
ABSTRACT
Helicopter is known for being extremely challenging to fly. The helicopter flight controls enables the
pilot to attain a controlled flight. The flight controls differ drastically when compared to the fixed
wing aircraft. The advancement in flight controls namely fly by wire system has resulted in reducing
the complexity of the system. The state of the art fly by wire system has resulted in increasing the
performance and at the same time reduces the workload of a pilot. The four main controls include
collective pitch control, cyclic pitch control, throttle control and anti torque pedals. The employment
of fly by wire has thus paved way for reduction in weight whilst providing more space for comfort and
effortless handling. The commercial helicopter are beginning to utilize the fly by wire technology after
being tried and tested by fixed wing aircraft and military helicopter. The goal of this technical essay is
to provide an overview of the evolution helicopter flight controls from the earlier complex analog
phase to the present simplified digital phase.
Introduction
In the early 1920s, designing the rotors to attain an efficient flight was the utmost priority. The next
decade was followed by, perfection of control systems and its mechanism for a real world flight
capability. The flight control system is an element of the aircraft control loop which is essential for the
pilot. When evaluating the aspects of an ideal helicopter the first facet to be considered is

Symbolism In The Talented Mr. Ripley By Patricia Highsmith
The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith, set in 1950s in a somewhat vibrant, jazz influenced
Italy, gives a vivid insight into the mind of a small time conman turned psychopath. It also provides us
with the central concepts of amorality, paranoia and how that survival and greed for money can turn
almost ordinary people uncaring and self indulgent. Highsmith s use of third person narrative is an
effective technique and is used to expand on the thesis of morality in the novel . Tom Ripley, a man in
his mid 20 s, claims he is close friends with Richard Dickie Greenleaf, when in reality, he doesn t

Summary Of Katie Hammil s Sense And Sensibility
Katie Hammil s play Sense and Sensibility, adapted from Jane Austen s novel of the same name, is
about reservedness and openness and how both behaviors can cause misunderstanding, but ultimately
result in the same outcome, which is revealed through the play s characterization of the two Dashwood
sisters, and the conflict between them, which is all highlighted by the lighting and costume design as
well as the acting in the Playmakers Repertory Company production. Elinor Dashwood (Shanelle
Nichole Leonard) and her sister Marianne Dashwood (Emily Bosco) are two people of very different
temperaments. Elinor is characterized as reserved, and she works to restrain her emotions for the sake
of decorum and because she believes it is unseemly. I WILL be mistress of myself, she exclaims as
Edward Ferrars (Rishan Dhamija) appears at the end of the play, in the scene Edward is Married (106).
Marianne, on the other hand, is a lot more open about her emotions, and is characterized as a more
lively and sensitive young woman. Elinor s personality causes her to bottle up her feelings toward
Edward, making her extremely unhappy, while Marianne s willingness to love Willoughby (Geoffrey
Culbertson) results in him taking advantage of her. The sisters s differences causes conflict between
them, as they cannot understand why the other acts as she does. Elinor desperately wishes her sister
would be more composed, while Marianne wishes Elinor would be more uninhibited. This often
leaves them at odds with one another, as seen in the end of the scene Brandon s Letter. Ultimately,
however, both sisters are able to find romance and a happy ending, and can finally begin to learn from
their mistakes and accept each other for how they are. Both young women s temperaments are
reflected in their costumes, designed by Olivera Gajic. Throughout the entirety of the play, Elinor
wears a dress of light blue, a color that implies ice and coldness, which mirrors her tendency to be
emotionally cold. In fact, Marianne even teases her sister in the scene Marianne and Elinor by
referring to her as Cold hearted Elinor! (14). Also, in the beginning of the play, Elinor wears a neck
kerchief, as if covering herself up both

Nonconformity and Its Effects
A nonconformist refers to a person who cannot abide by the established rules and values of society.
Because he has a different set of standards, he perceives the world in a unique manner and
consequently fails to accept the general population s point of view. He is the one who walks the path
most would be unwilling to take. One such individual is Meursault, the nonconforming protagonist in
Albert Camus s The Stranger. In this critically acclaimed novel, Camus carefully develops Meursault s
nonconformist character and explains how that personality causes a series of events that ultimately
ends in Meursault s death. Meursault s emotionless behaviors clearly reveal his nonconformity to
society. For example, Meursault could never express any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather, Meursault chooses not to dwell on the matter because the death would not essentially cause
any difference in his ongoing life. Furthermore, Meursault s lack of repentance after murdering a man
solidifies the fact that he is a significant nonconformist. For instance, during the questioning for his
action, he didn t take... [the examining magistrate] seriously and it all seemed like a game to him (63
64). Also, he was even going to shake his hand on his way out (64). The values of society state that a
criminal should feel at least some regret over his crimes. Thus, most would agree that the arrested
should feel some fear and guilt simply from facing the justice system. However, through his actions
and attitude, he just ignores all of the generally accepted rules. Not only he lacks the emotion of
remorse, he rather enjoys the time. Meursault s indifference to the death of his mother and the arrest
demonstrates his inability to conform to society s norms. Due to his unacceptable nonconformist
actions, Meursault invites distrust and coldness from the French judicial system, which symbolizes
society as a whole, during his trial. For example, during the trial, the prosecutor catches on all the little
details of Meursault s atypical personality and utilizes them to raise Meursault s punishment. He first
accuses Meursault of cruelty by exclaiming a stranger may offer a cup of coffee, but that beside the
body of the one who brought him into the world, a son

If I had the chance to talk to someone for thirty minutes, I would choose Wyatt Earp. Earp was a

Understanding Of Mpm And Measuring Improvement Essay
RESEARCH PROPOSAL Study objective: Understanding of MPM and measuring improvement in
store sales . INTRODUCTION Retail enterprise is a kind of commercial enterprise with high level of
competition. The success of retail business depends on how fast can a retailer recognize consumer
behavior and buying pattern. Retail business must focus on the factor affecting consumer buying
pattern and elements that shifts customers buying decision. Store atmospheric attributes (which
include shade, lighting fixtures, income personnel, music and so on) shape the general context within
which shoppers make decisions of store selection and patronage. Many of the previous research on
retail environment suggests that such attributes affect the image of the store. Retailers comprehend the
significance of such attributes and systematically attempt to avail of an atmosphere, inclusive of
suitable colors, music and so on that will attract their target customers. Further, purchase decision
making has emerge as complicated task due to the inseparability of product and services offered in
retail outlets. Retail store floor planning is a complicated task. The essential objective is to maximize
sales with customer satisfaction and minimize overall prices. Many factors affect the store floor
planning, like the arrival pattern of clients, design of the building, required service level, merchandise
mix, adjacency requirements and lot more. Store layout can have an effect on client s perceptions of a

Analysis Of Lamb To The Slaughter By Mary Maloney
Insanely Innocent
Everyone does something at some point in their life that can be considered insane. Sometimes it s
simple things like trying a new food or a new hobby However, other times it can bit more extreme
such as stepping outside of the status quo or just simple committing a crime altogether. The story,
Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl depicts the life of Mary Maloney and the event of her killing her
husband. However, Mary Maloney is innocent due to reason of Insanity because she portrays
symptoms of a person with schizophrenia, the forced conformity of gender roles, and her over
attachment or jealousy for her husband.
Most of Roald Dahl s characters have a tendency to have an underlying trait to them. In this case,

Roald Dahl also plays with the gender role aspect of the 1950 s. The 1950 s were really focused
around the white picket fence perfect family. There was expected to be a mom and a dad with at least
one kid. The mom would stay home to cook and clean while the husband went off to work . Once the
husband returned home, they would sit down as one family and eat the meal the woman prepared.
Divorce was not a common thing and was a very unacceptable thing at this time. In fact, the article
1950 s family life Michael Rich says, Divorce was not a common thing. Why? Societal pressure for
one thing. You were supposed to get married and stay married, regardless of how miserable you were.
Divorce carried a stigma... in the Fifties, a woman s best chance at employment was in traditionally

The Boston Tea Party Essay
Splash! ...Patriots disguised as Native Americans threw 342 chests of tea overboard from three British
ships (Hart 71). This event, which the colonists enjoyed but angered the British, was later referred to
as the Boston Tea Party. This started off when the East India Company had a superfluous supply of tea
that nobody was buying. As a result, they lowered the price of the tea and sent it to America for the
colonists to buy. This was called the Tea Act. The colonists weren t stupid and immediately recognized
it as a hidden tax. They were extremely outraged and a secret group called the Sons of Liberty got the
idea of throwing out the tea into the Boston Harbor. The Boston Tea Party had a prodigious impact on
the colonies politically, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A man name Joseph Warren originally drafted it. The ultimate purpose of it was to urge Massachusetts
to form their own government until Britain repealed the Intolerable Acts. Also, it told all colonists to
arm themselves and get ready for war (Lukes 59). The Boston Tea Party tremendously changed the
Massachusetts government and made Britain create new laws for the Americans.
Secondly, there were several economic effects of the Boston Tea Party. To begin, the British had paid a
lot of money for the tea that had ended up in the Boston Harbor. Therefore, the British lost an
immense amount of money. The Intolerable Acts also had an economic impact as well as a political.
One of the Intolerable Acts called the Boston Port Act closed the port of Boston. Half of the citizens of
Boston were put out of work. Originally, the people of Boston got their food from the sea but after the
act they didn t have the sea available as a source of food. Boston lived on its sea trade, and people
worried that they might starve (Hakim 54). In other words, the harbor was the main way people made
their living and fed themselves. The only way the British would allow the harbor to open is that if the
Americans paid off the cost of the tea (Stuckey and Salvucci 177). The colonists would have to
unnecessarily work harder to earn back the money they had wasted. The colonists decided to boycott
British goods until Parliament repealed the Intolerable Acts, which

Reasons For The French Revolution
There were many causes that led to the French Revolution. Class, money, and philosophes were three
major factors that contributed to the French Revolution. The most important cause was money. These
factors resulted in Louis The Sixteenth and Marie Antoinette being executed, and the reign of
Napoleon to begin.
Class conflicts are a huge component of the French Revolution. The French Revolution began as a
result of the lack of the people s happiness over how they were told to live their lives. There were
three estates. The first estate being the clergy, the second estate being the nobility, and the third estate
being the bourgeoisie (commoners). The first and second estate consisted of very few people, but was
given most of the money, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the first and second estate voted that the bourgeoisie should pay all the taxes, the bourgeoisies was
outvoted and was forced to keep paying all of the taxes. The nobility and clergy were very greedy,
especially the clergy. Their morals were supposed to be more focused on the word of god, instead of
being focused on the material aspects of life on Earth. The clergy was supposed to be kind and helpful,
instead of selfish. Since the clergy was greedy, it lead France to be in even more debt and have more
conflicts. There were many privileges only given to the upper classes, which made it unfair. At the
beginning of the French Revolution, the bourgeoisie became very fed up with the inequalities within
the classes. To deal with the inequalities, the estates decided to gather in the tennis courts and take an
oath called the Tennis court Oath. The Tennis court Oath stated that they would not leave until a new
constitution was created. In the end, a new constitution was created and a new form of government
was put into place. The new government was called the national assembly. The national assembly
lasted from 1789 1799 but was then abolished as it upset many people in France because the priorities
of the National Assemblies decisions did not meet the people s needs.
Money was also a major factor to the French Revolution. Once Louis The Sixteenth and Marie
Antoinette became absolute monarchs in 1774, they lavishly spent money. The couple

The Seven Costly Mistakes in Business
Seven Costly Mistakes in Business
The seven most costly mistakes in business revolve around how companies manage their value chains
in a turbulent, rapidly changing world. Both primary and supporting strategies of value chains need to
be tightly integrated and well managed for any enterprise to survive and grow.
Losing track of customers and their needs, including a lack of insight into how they can best be
communicated with is the most costly mistake a company can make. The loss of relevancy within a
customer base immediately opens it up to competitors, drastically increasing the costs to get them
back and re establish value of products and services (Allen, Carletti, Leonello, 2011). Lack of
customers will also lead to lack of insight into demand curves of products and the inability to forecast
them accurately (Docters, Durman, Korman, Schefers, 2008). Integrating Customer Relationship
Management (CRM) systems into the daily activity of a company is essential to alleviate this problem
(Bielski, 2003). Failing to integrate CRM systems into the overall workflow of the company will lead
to losing even more customers and lost revenue, and this is especially true for foreign subsidiaries of
global companies (Davids, 1999).
A second costly mistake is the decision to outsource payroll and accounting without having a clear
understanding of how these processes are performing within the company at present. Companies often
outsourcing payroll and accounting without first

Feet can take a beating if you participate in sports. And just like any other structure in the body,
dysfunction in our feet can lead to serious issues, including knee pain or lower back aches.
Your feet need training and conditioning just like the rest of your body.
Extrinsic and Intrinsic Muscles of the Feet
Any imbalances in musculature in your feet will limit full range of motion and alter your running and

Analysis of A Savage Life Essay
Through the use of anecdotes in the article A Savage Life , Suzanne Winckler effectively points out
that it is important to understand where your food comes from. Winckler helps convey to readers that
while butchering animals is no fun, it is necessary for the survival of omnivores. She argues that meat
eaters are out of touch with reality; instead of recognizing that an animal must be sacrificed for their
meal, most consumers mindlessly devour the food on their plates without a thought of where their
food came from. Winckler states I am too far gone in my rational Western head to appropriate the
ritual of cultures for whom the bloody business of hunting was a matter of survival (634); in this
statement she adequately appeals to logos ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through this proclamation, Winckler successfully appeals to pathos because she makes it simple for
the audience to see the connection between a newborn and a chicken about to lose its life. Both
chickens and newborns are ignorant to the world and rather helpless comparing a human to the food
that one eats helps to put the killing of a chicken into perspective. Winckler then gruesomely explains
what it is like to behead a chicken; appealing to both pathos and ethos: Headless chickens don t run
around. They thrash with such force and seeming coordination that they sometimes turn back flips
(633). By using imagery to describe this horrific requirement for killing a chicken, Winckler is seen as
a credible and factual source. After slaying her first chicken, Winckler realized why cultures, ancient
and contemporary, develop elaborate rituals for coping with the grisly experience of killing any
sentient creature (633). She appeals to logos in this quote by informing readers of the epiphany she
came to taking them through her mind s thought process; this makes her come across as a logical
being, not a demented human. By appealing to logos in this quote, Winckler invokes thought in
readers minds; she productively addresses that killing animals is disturbing and off putting but
necessary for survival, since most nations perform rituals

A Short Note On Hydrogen Fuel Cell Plug
This report shows a comparison between hydrogen fuel cell plug in hybrid vehicles (FCHEV) and
battery (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) electric vehicles. Comparing infrastructure and
technology requirements along with the lifecycle cost of the drivetrain (the main components that
generate power and deliver it to the road surface) over 100k miles taking fuel costs and capital costs
into consideration.
This can then be compared to a conventional petrol fuelled internal combustion engine (ICE)
drivetrain. A comprehensive sensitivity analysis shows that FCEVs could achieve lifecycle costs
similar to conventional petrol vehicles in the near future. However, both the BEV and FCHEV have
significantly lower lifecycle costs. Looking forward, the drivetrain lifecycle costs of FCEVs could
range from around £5000 to £15000, whereas those for BEVs range from £4300 to £7600 and
FCHEVs, from just under £3000 to £8400. All vehicle platforms exhibit significant cost sensitivity to
drivetrain capital cost. The BEV and FCHEV are relatively unaffected by electricity costs but the
FCHEV and FCV are affected by the cost of hydrogen. The BEV and FCHEV are alike in lifecycle
cost and one could offer an advantage over the other depending on driving patterns.
In conclusion, the hydrogen fuel cell plug in hybrid vehicle would be the best route towards future
development of the fuel cell electric vehicles.

Stereotypes In Ameil Burke s Summer Heights High
Many adults think of teens as lazy, irresponsible and just want to party all night long and sleep all day.
But is that really the truth? Ameil Burke writes. When you picture a teenager you picture fighting,
drinking, or answering back, am I right? However, this is simply not the case. Sure there is the
minority of trouble makers. However this minority is exaggerated due to the news showing only this
behaviour. This stereotyping has found its audience and crept into television shows and series. This
has led to the creation of a mockumentary called Summer Heights High which has unfairly
represented teen SHH is an Australian series created by Chris Lilley that deals ... Show more content

She is from a private school called Hillford who accepts the opportunity to swap places with another
girl and go to a public school for a term. When she arrives she shows off how great she is and then
when she meets the girl who she s swapping places with she looks at her and says. You ll fit in. there s
so many Asians there. (ep1) Ja mie is clearly racist and thinks that Asians are rich and smart, which is
exactly how they have been stereotyped in society. This is a moment in the series when it has been
savagely astute in the way of how people think. Other moments when this has been the case is through
the use of Jonah Takulua, also played by Chris Lilley. In the series, Jonah is depicted as a tough
Tongan with behavioural issues, aggressions problems and an inability to read. While this is meant to
be a joke it does create a negative stereotype towards teenagers and makes the show unfairly represent
teens in a negative manner and as a result people who are watching this will think that most teenagers
cannot read at all. Another example of Summer Heights High representing teens in a negative manner
is in a scene when Jonah gets into a fight with a younger kid over break dancing. This kid is shown to
be a better break dancer than Jonah and as a result he turns aggressive in order to feel superior towards
the younger kid. This makes viewers feel that if teens aren t the best they will use violence to solve
their problems if

Rhetorical Techniques In Billy Joel s The Nylon Curtain
While the term authored is traditionally applied to literary works, the term can be used in a broader
sense to refer to any piece which employs rhetorical devices in order to serve a specific purpose or put
forth a specific message. In terms of an audio album, the cover artwork is the first part a listener is
exposed to and can be expected to pique that person s curiosity so that they are led to learn more about
or buy the album. The artwork created by Christopher Austopchuk for Billy Joel s album The Nylon
Curtain exemplifies this concept of authoring as the scene he uses both draws one s interest when first
seen and embodies a part of the social commentary presented through the lyrics of the album. The
cover of The Nylon Curtain presents a bleak view of the American Dream, with an illustration of a
line of houses, all exactly the same: two stories, an attached garage, and a car inside the ... Show more

The title brings to mind the historical scene in which the album was released due to the relation to the
figurative Iron Curtain which divided Europe at the time. With the Cold War continuing and the recent
loss of the Vietnam War, the title contributed to the dreary image which the cover paints for America
at the time. This reference to the conflict at the time further appeals to the sympathies of the audience,
with many opposing the war efforts which were ongoing for decades. Because of this, they would
likely have identified with both the title and the songs on the album which voiced opposition to the
war in Vietnam and spoke of the suffering caused by it. This use of pathos would lead one to be
curious about the meaning behind the title if they were to see the album in a record store, advancing
one main purpose of the cover artwork: to lead one to want to buy the

  • 3. A Comparison Of Abraham Lincoln And Nathan Bedford Forrest The Civil War was the most divisive moment in American History, and decided the fate of the Union forever. It created many of the social and political divides and contrasts in culture that are still seen in today s world. The war was the eruption that had been brewing since the birth of the United States. Two of the important figures in the Civil War period are Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford Forrest. Both were influential in their own respective countries and both were seen as great leaders by their own countries citizens. If the South won the war, Forrest would have been seen as more of a hero than he is in the world today. Because the Union won the war, though, the more important figure is Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was also more influential than Nathan Bedford Forrest because of his honest character, compassion, and determination. Abe Lincoln was able to win people over because of his understanding of society. He showed attributes that, at the time, were more caring and loving than most people. For example, in some of his speeches from Illinois, he took a stance against slavery. He questioned if slavery was morally and constitutionally right, which was a big risk at the time. This move won over the liberal citizens in America, but greatly alienated the South, especially when Abe Lincoln won the election of 1860. His determination was another huge factor to him being a great influence. Even though he started out not taking the War seriously, which causes the Union to lose some important battles, these losses are a wake up call for Lincoln, which reinvigorates him to fight back against the South and win the war, saving the Union and freeing the slaves. This ended up being his greatest strength, and what decides how he is remembered in history forever. While Lincoln is more remembered in history, on the other side of the coin is Nathan Bedford Forrest. Even though he was on the losing side, he was still well respected by people on both sides of the war, unlike Lincoln who was hated by the South. He went down as a great general and a great tactician in the Civil War. However, unlike Lincoln, his reputation is blown out of proportion and misinformed by bias. In the South, he was remembered as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Software Testing Is A Technical Task Art of Software Testing Prof.Sheetal N.Khanore Bunts Sangha`s S.M.Shetty College Science, Commerce and Management Studies, Abstract Software testing is a technical task, but it also involves some important considerations of economics and human psychology. In technical aspects it is the process of analyzing a software item to detect the differences between existing and required conditions (that is defects/errors/bugs) and to evaluate the features of the software item . A software error occurs when the program does not do, what its end user reasonably expects it to do. Software testing is more difficult because of the vast array of programming languages, operating systems, and hardware platforms that have evolved but at the same time ... The following sections highlights some of the relevant literature, specifically about the history of graphic design, the definition of graphic design and the external factors affecting a graphic designer s role. Some relevant studies relating to graphic designs and designers can be named such as the definition of graphic design developed by Jessica Helfand or Cezzar, the book named How to be a graphic designer, without losing your soul ? by Shaughnessy (2008), Do good design: how designers can change the world by David B.Berman, The production manual: a graphic design handbook by Ambrose Harris (2008), Becoming a successful graphic designer by Leonard (2016), Looking closer by Bierut, Drenttel Heller (2002) and Just Design, Socially Conscious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Definition of Graphic Design Graphic design is well known as visual communication where there is a combination of the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and textual content. The production encompasses identity, publication, advertisements, website graphics and product packaging (Cezzar, n.d.). According to Jessica Helfand, an American designer, author and educator, had a definition about graphic design as the following: Graphic design is a visual language uniting harmony and balance, color and light, scale and tension, form and content. But it is also an idiomatic language, a language of cues and puns and symbols and allusions, of cultural references and perceptual inferences and that challenge both the intellect and the eye (Helfand, cited in Shaughnessy, 2008) In other words, it could be said that graphic design helps to form the unique identity of specific subjects. From Helfand s perspective, graphic design is not only aesthetic and communicative territory, but also a language in visual and idiomatic that graphic designers are required to learn through education and experience. ii. • 7. Social Play Analysis A). Play as defined in our book is an activity that is intrinsically motivated, focused on means rather than ends, different from purely exploratory behavior, nonliteral, and free from externally applies rules (Gross, 225). There are different types of play such as play with objects, social play, and pretend symbolic play. Play with objects depends on age for example a child between the age of birth to 4 months uses exploratory type of play, repetitive motor movements such kicking legs, reaching for or sucking their toes, and rolling over. Whereas a child who is between the age of 24 months and 36 months uses fine motor play which allows them to play with Play doh and put together puzzles. Social play is playing with a responsive human playmate. This could be the child s mother, father or caregiver. Pretend/symbolic play usually emerges after the first birthday, when children behave in a nonliteral way, acting as if they were performing familiar routines, such as eating, going to sleep, or washing their face (Gross, 195). ... I was interested in this topic as well because I never knew play was different in cultures I always believed it meant the same thing. • 14. The Kenya Shifta War and Realism The Kenyan Shifta War (1963 1968) and its Realism base and Power Pursuit. In this essay I am going to discuss the Kenyan war that has emerged in 1963 due to long lasting grievances about bad treatment from British colonial isolation and ethnic Somali in Kenya irredentism drive to unite all other five Somali lands with Kenya into a greater Somalia. The issue of British colony had otherwise been much less to do with this war, the main reason to war was that of irredentism by Somalis. This conflict went on as Somalis resisted from being governed by a dark skinned government of the Prime Minister Jomo Kenyatta while at the same time seek unity. Somali seek independence at the expense of Kenya. Somalia wanted to be in power to rule a unified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Going to war was the better option they thought of, this is because they are Muslims by religion and they thought going to war with Kenya was just. Now that s the realists way of dealing with uncertainty. In my opinion, Realism was the ruling political system that existed in this conflict. Great Britain as the father of Kenya due to colonization had to intervene to try and bring about an end to this war between Kenya and Somalia. The question is, how was it going to do that? The answer to that question is otherwise simple. It starts with the reason why would Great Britain colonise Kenya, and that is because Kenya has an abundance of raw materials that Britain was exploiting. Somalia with their non profit making legacy of irredentism was to be a bad effects to how Britain rules Kenya. Britain had to protect its source of profit by helping Kenya defeat Somalia. Britain then supplied Kenya with arms to fight back Somalia so that the war will come to an early end so that Britain will continue with the exploitation of raw materials from Kenya. So literally speaking, Somalia was just an itch that Britain had to scratch off. Britain even took some of Kenyans and trained them for war so that they will fight Somalis effectively and strategically to lead to an early end of war. • 15. Analysis Of The Book Strange Creatures By Susan... Sanjana Mamidi Section 28 Final Draft Paper 4 Human Mind Control OCD is a phrase that gets to the existential core of worry, a clenched, demonic doubting that overrides evidence, empiricism, plain common sense (Slater234). The meme theory states that a meme consists of everything that is passed from person to person (Blackmore 37). In Strange Creatures by Susan Blackmore and Who Holds the Clicker? by Lauren Slater both authors discuss the control humans have over their minds. In Who Holds the Clicker Lauren Slater discusses DBS (deep brain simulation), which is a type of psychosurgery in which electrical impulses are sent to certain portions of the brain to control and change the emotions one feels. She discusses both the positive and negatives of deep brain simulation through a specific patient named Mario and also presents the control DBS can have over one s mind. Similarly, Blackmore in Strange Creatures discusses the meme theory, which consists of any idea that is passed down from person to person. Both authors provide information that allows people to draw conclusions relating to why people do not have control over their minds. Even though some people believe that humans do have control over their minds, Blackmore and Slater both successfully portray that in actuality humans do not have any control over their minds because human thoughts and ideas are unoriginal products of external forces, many human thoughts occur at deeper level of consciousness, and ... • 16. A Desire Unspoken In Baby Driver By Edgar Wright A Desire Unspoken Women should be seen, not heard. A phrase not unfamiliar to most, at some point in her life all girls have heard something along the lines of this. A phrase that dictates that a woman s worth lies in her appearance and outer beauty and not in her mind. A phrase that praises the traits of obedience and submission and shames those who speak their minds. Throughout history women s lives have always been used in the service of others. Being a quite daughter who listens to her father, being a silent wife who obeys her husband. Never complaining, never wanting anything for themselves, just selfless, serving, and silent. A girl grows up learning not to strive for her own happiness, but to make others happy. A woman must be self sacrificing and put the wants and needs of her family before her own desires. This idea that a woman must sacrifice her own happiness for others is apparent in our own society and in our media. Time and time again women are used as tragic martyrs to further the character development of men. Look at this years popular film Baby Driver by Edgar Wright. The love interest Deborah is given no complexities or personality of her own. She only exists in relation to the main character and is there to make him happy and feel good. Even in current films and media women are still being portrayed as one dimensional props whose only purpose is to look pretty and be agreeable. That is why watching the movie Carol by Todd Haynes felt like a breath of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Macbeth s Three Witches In Shakespeare s Macbeth, it is debatable whether the Three Witches, also known as the Weird Sisters, or Macbeth, the main character, are responsible for his death. The choice is up to the audience. Either the witches are agents of impartial fate who torture for fun and are emissaries from Hell sent to torture, or Macbeth is a victim of his actions and decisions. Macbeth s hidden desires bring out his major character flaw of greed and falling under the influence of others. The flaws are responsible for his change of personality which create his delusional actions and his unthoughtful decisions. For Macbeth to get what he wants, he includes violence, which is shown many times throughout the play. For example, when he first encounters the witches, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. What Is Stretching Essay Benefits of Stretching The body is flexible. It is supposed to be flexible. You must be able to bend and reach that something you dropped on the floor. You must be able to zip the back of your favorite dress on your own. You must be able to reach that book you need to read at the top shelf. These are simple activities. Nothing grand about them, you merely stretched out a bit. However, if there are difficulties in doing such simple motions, then you have to stretch your limits. You already need a stretching program. What Is Stretching? Stretching is simply the act of extending to full length the body or simply a part of it. This activity involves straightening or stretching the structure or the limbs. Most athletes would do the sit and reach, wherein they position on the floor, extend their legs and reach the tip of their foot with the tip of their hand. Actually, most trainers actually require their athletes to really do the stretching before playing. There is actually an ideal length of time in stretching. It is best to do it in 10 minutes. This will give the body enough opportunity to move and flex the muscles, thus preparing it for more complicated and strenuous movements. Experts however would frown upon going way beyond 10 minutes. How do person centred counsellors use the therapeutic relationship to facilitate change and in what way (s) does person centred therapy differ from other helping relationships? word count: 2,495 Person centred counselling originated and was evolved on the ideas of American psychologist Carl Rogers. The influences on Carl Rogers and he s conceptualisation of Person centred counselling are numerous, from his early family life living on a farm, his interest and involvement in theology and his formative professional career. • 22. The Effects Of Chemicals On The Environment Introduction Considerable advancements in science and technology were realized right after the Second World War. As a result of the advancement of science and technology, new methods of farming and the use of chemicals like DDT and aerosols among others was introduced. All these technological developments led to environmental deterioration leading to high risks on the environment as a whole. Rachel Carson was the first person to write a book on the effects of chemicals on the environment (Pepper, Webster, Revill, 2003). Her book inspired many people to change their behaviors towards the environment, leading to the birth of environmentalism. Description of Environmentalism Environmentalism is a social movement with concerns for environmental protection. Since the existence of the universe, man has had power over all living and non living things. It became the norm for humans to just receive from Mother Nature without giving back at all. This human behavior caused the earth to reach an optimum level of sustenance and it began deteriorating. The contamination of the Earth s air, water, land and vegetation is considered by (Carson, 2002) as an assault on the environment. The destruction of the conditions that make this world habitable was on the rise, placing the sustainability of the universe at high risk. People, therefore, had to come up with a way to reverse the situation or else the Earth would be unsustainable. Toxic chemicals that were used between the 1950 s and ... In the 1960s a certain class of young people associated their lifestyles with the ideas of freedom, peace, and love. Hippies acted against white upper middle class lifestyle because they thought it was based on the wrong ideology. Hippies were against consumerism and American suburban life of the late 1950s and early 1960s was embodied in itself the idea of consumerism. Hippies, on the other hand, felt better about communal life with equal distribution of social goods. Traditional bigger share and consumerist greed as concepts of American society were despised by Hippies. White middle class suburban America with its traditional values and financial prosperity of baby boom generation was ideologically unfit for the energetic American youth. Seeing half of the world starving (Africa, India, China) Hippies considered it highly inappropriate to bath in economic prosperity and technological progress with half of the world being deprived of basic human needs. That way Hippies alienated them from their parents presenting an alternative lifestyle to that of consumerism. Traditional business like lifestyle of white middle class in America was based on financial success and economic prosperity as the features of happiness. Regression Analysis For A Dependence Method Regarding the testing of the hypotheses of this research, regression analysis or structural equation modelling techniques is best suited for a dependence method (Hair et al., 2014). We employed regression analysis to specify the extent to which the independent variables predicted the dependent variable. The analysis conducted in this study was therefore intended to test the hypotheses of the study. The regression output provided some measures which allow assessment of the hypotheses. Following from the hypotheses, Brand Engagement was used as the dependent variable while the independent variables consisted of Monetary Savings, Exploration, Entertainment, Recognition, and Social Benefit. Results from the model assessment are presented in the Table VI. Insert table VI Results from the model assessment indicate strong and significant reliabilities among the constructs used in the study (F = 87.362, Prob.F stats 0.001). • 36. Summary Of Katie Hammil s Sense And Sensibility Katie Hammil s play Sense and Sensibility, adapted from Jane Austen s novel of the same name, is about reservedness and openness and how both behaviors can cause misunderstanding, but ultimately result in the same outcome, which is revealed through the play s characterization of the two Dashwood sisters, and the conflict between them, which is all highlighted by the lighting and costume design as well as the acting in the Playmakers Repertory Company production. Elinor Dashwood (Shanelle Nichole Leonard) and her sister Marianne Dashwood (Emily Bosco) are two people of very different temperaments. Elinor is characterized as reserved, and she works to restrain her emotions for the sake of decorum and because she believes it is unseemly. I WILL be mistress of myself, she exclaims as Edward Ferrars (Rishan Dhamija) appears at the end of the play, in the scene Edward is Married (106). Marianne, on the other hand, is a lot more open about her emotions, and is characterized as a more lively and sensitive young woman. Elinor s personality causes her to bottle up her feelings toward Edward, making her extremely unhappy, while Marianne s willingness to love Willoughby (Geoffrey Culbertson) results in him taking advantage of her. The sisters s differences causes conflict between them, as they cannot understand why the other acts as she does. Elinor desperately wishes her sister would be more composed, while Marianne wishes Elinor would be more uninhibited. This often leaves them at odds with one another, as seen in the end of the scene Brandon s Letter. Ultimately, however, both sisters are able to find romance and a happy ending, and can finally begin to learn from their mistakes and accept each other for how they are. Both young women s temperaments are reflected in their costumes, designed by Olivera Gajic. Throughout the entirety of the play, Elinor wears a dress of light blue, a color that implies ice and coldness, which mirrors her tendency to be emotionally cold. In fact, Marianne even teases her sister in the scene Marianne and Elinor by referring to her as Cold hearted Elinor! (14). • 39. Wyatt Earp Research Paper If I had the chance to talk to someone for thirty minutes, I would choose Wyatt Earp. Earp was a known as the biggest and best law enforcement officer during the late 1800 s early 1900 s. Everywhere that Wyatt went, people knew about him. Wyatt Earp helped protect many people during his life, and did not show fear to anyone. I admire Earp because of his bravery to protect the people he loved and fulfilled his duty to his fullest potential. Even though Wyatt s family told him not to serve in law, he felt it was his duty and kept the people in Western America safe. Talking to Wyatt Earp would be a dream of mine because he has been an inspiration of mine for many years. I would most likely listen to him more than I would talk to him, because I really want to hear all of his stories from his point of view. His adventures with Doc Holliday ... Talking to a any hero during the Wild West would be an honor within itself, but talking to Wyatt Earp satisfy any dream I have of talking to anyone famous. Sometimes it s simple things like trying a new food or a new hobby However, other times it can bit more extreme such as stepping outside of the status quo or just simple committing a crime altogether. The story, Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl depicts the life of Mary Maloney and the event of her killing her husband. However, Mary Maloney is innocent due to reason of Insanity because she portrays symptoms of a person with schizophrenia, the forced conformity of gender roles, and her over attachment or jealousy for her husband. There was expected to be a mom and a dad with at least one kid. The mom would stay home to cook and clean while the husband went off to work . Once the husband returned home, they would sit down as one family and eat the meal the woman prepared. Divorce was not a common thing and was a very unacceptable thing at this time. In fact, the article 1950 s family life Michael Rich says, Divorce was not a common thing. Why? Societal pressure for one thing. You were supposed to get married and stay married, regardless of how miserable you were. Divorce carried a stigma... in the Fifties, a woman s best chance at employment was in traditionally accepted women s jobs such as secretary, teacher, nurse, librarian and so forth. So there was an economic incentive to stay married. However in the story, Mr. Maloney completely goes against the social custom of not divorcing. • 42. The Boston Tea Party Essay Splash! ...Patriots disguised as Native Americans threw 342 chests of tea overboard from three British ships (Hart 71). This event, which the colonists enjoyed but angered the British, was later referred to as the Boston Tea Party. This started off when the East India Company had a superfluous supply of tea that nobody was buying. As a result, they lowered the price of the tea and sent it to America for the colonists to buy. This was called the Tea Act. The colonists weren t stupid and immediately recognized it as a hidden tax. They were extremely outraged and a secret group called the Sons of Liberty got the idea of throwing out the tea into the Boston Harbor. The ultimate purpose of it was to urge Massachusetts to form their own government until Britain repealed the Intolerable Acts. Also, it told all colonists to arm themselves and get ready for war (Lukes 59). The Boston Tea Party tremendously changed the Massachusetts government and made Britain create new laws for the Americans. Secondly, there were several economic effects of the Boston Tea Party. To begin, the British had paid a lot of money for the tea that had ended up in the Boston Harbor. Therefore, the British lost an immense amount of money. The Intolerable Acts also had an economic impact as well as a political. One of the Intolerable Acts called the Boston Port Act closed the port of Boston. Half of the citizens of Boston were put out of work. Originally, the people of Boston got their food from the sea but after the act they didn t have the sea available as a source of food. Boston lived on its sea trade, and people worried that they might starve (Hakim 54). In other words, the harbor was the main way people made their living and fed themselves. The only way the British would allow the harbor to open is that if the Americans paid off the cost of the tea (Stuckey and Salvucci 177). The colonists would have to unnecessarily work harder to earn back the money they had wasted. The colonists decided to boycott British goods until Parliament repealed the Intolerable Acts, which ... • 43. Reasons For The French Revolution There were many causes that led to the French Revolution. Class, money, and philosophes were three major factors that contributed to the French Revolution. The most important cause was money. These factors resulted in Louis The Sixteenth and Marie Antoinette being executed, and the reign of Napoleon to begin. Class conflicts are a huge component of the French Revolution. The French Revolution began as a result of the lack of the people s happiness over how they were told to live their lives. There were three estates. The first estate being the clergy, the second estate being the nobility, and the third estate being the bourgeoisie (commoners). As the first and second estate voted that the bourgeoisie should pay all the taxes, the bourgeoisies was outvoted and was forced to keep paying all of the taxes. The nobility and clergy were very greedy, especially the clergy. Their morals were supposed to be more focused on the word of god, instead of being focused on the material aspects of life on Earth. The clergy was supposed to be kind and helpful, instead of selfish. Since the clergy was greedy, it lead France to be in even more debt and have more conflicts. There were many privileges only given to the upper classes, which made it unfair. At the beginning of the French Revolution, the bourgeoisie became very fed up with the inequalities within the classes. To deal with the inequalities, the estates decided to gather in the tennis courts and take an oath called the Tennis court Oath. The Tennis court Oath stated that they would not leave until a new constitution was created. In the end, a new constitution was created and a new form of government was put into place. The new government was called the national assembly. The national assembly lasted from 1789 1799 but was then abolished as it upset many people in France because the priorities of the National Assemblies decisions did not meet the people s needs. Money was also a major factor to the French Revolution. Once Louis The Sixteenth and Marie Antoinette became absolute monarchs in 1774, they lavishly spent money. The couple ... • 44. The Seven Costly Mistakes in Business Seven Costly Mistakes in Business The seven most costly mistakes in business revolve around how companies manage their value chains in a turbulent, rapidly changing world. Both primary and supporting strategies of value chains need to be tightly integrated and well managed for any enterprise to survive and grow. Losing track of customers and their needs, including a lack of insight into how they can best be communicated with is the most costly mistake a company can make. The loss of relevancy within a customer base immediately opens it up to competitors, drastically increasing the costs to get them back and re establish value of products and services (Allen, Carletti, Leonello, 2011). Lack of customers will also lead to lack of insight into demand curves of products and the inability to forecast them accurately (Docters, Durman, Korman, Schefers, 2008). Integrating Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems into the daily activity of a company is essential to alleviate this problem (Bielski, 2003). Failing to integrate CRM systems into the overall workflow of the company will lead to losing even more customers and lost revenue, and this is especially true for foreign subsidiaries of global companies (Davids, 1999). A second costly mistake is the decision to outsource payroll and accounting without having a clear understanding of how these processes are performing within the company at present. Companies often outsourcing payroll and accounting without first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Analysis of A Savage Life Essay Through the use of anecdotes in the article A Savage Life , Suzanne Winckler effectively points out that it is important to understand where your food comes from. Winckler helps convey to readers that while butchering animals is no fun, it is necessary for the survival of omnivores. She argues that meat eaters are out of touch with reality; instead of recognizing that an animal must be sacrificed for their meal, most consumers mindlessly devour the food on their plates without a thought of where their food came from. Winckler states I am too far gone in my rational Western head to appropriate the ritual of cultures for whom the bloody business of hunting was a matter of survival (634); in this statement she adequately appeals to logos ... Through this proclamation, Winckler successfully appeals to pathos because she makes it simple for the audience to see the connection between a newborn and a chicken about to lose its life. Both chickens and newborns are ignorant to the world and rather helpless comparing a human to the food that one eats helps to put the killing of a chicken into perspective. Winckler then gruesomely explains what it is like to behead a chicken; appealing to both pathos and ethos: Headless chickens don t run around. They thrash with such force and seeming coordination that they sometimes turn back flips (633). By using imagery to describe this horrific requirement for killing a chicken, Winckler is seen as a credible and factual source. After slaying her first chicken, Winckler realized why cultures, ancient and contemporary, develop elaborate rituals for coping with the grisly experience of killing any sentient creature (633). She appeals to logos in this quote by informing readers of the epiphany she came to taking them through her mind s thought process; this makes her come across as a logical being, not a demented human. By appealing to logos in this quote, Winckler invokes thought in readers minds; she productively addresses that killing animals is disturbing and off putting but necessary for survival, since most nations perform rituals ... • 49. A Short Note On Hydrogen Fuel Cell Plug This report shows a comparison between hydrogen fuel cell plug in hybrid vehicles (FCHEV) and battery (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) electric vehicles. Comparing infrastructure and technology requirements along with the lifecycle cost of the drivetrain (the main components that generate power and deliver it to the road surface) over 100k miles taking fuel costs and capital costs into consideration. This can then be compared to a conventional petrol fuelled internal combustion engine (ICE) drivetrain. A comprehensive sensitivity analysis shows that FCEVs could achieve lifecycle costs similar to conventional petrol vehicles in the near future. However, both the BEV and FCHEV have significantly lower lifecycle costs. Looking forward, the drivetrain lifecycle costs of FCEVs could range from around £5000 to £15000, whereas those for BEVs range from £4300 to £7600 and FCHEVs, from just under £3000 to £8400. All vehicle platforms exhibit significant cost sensitivity to drivetrain capital cost. The BEV and FCHEV are relatively unaffected by electricity costs but the FCHEV and FCV are affected by the cost of hydrogen. The BEV and FCHEV are alike in lifecycle cost and one could offer an advantage over the other depending on driving patterns. In conclusion, the hydrogen fuel cell plug in hybrid vehicle would be the best route towards future development of the fuel cell electric vehicles. 1. In the series, Jonah is depicted as a tough Tongan with behavioural issues, aggressions problems and an inability to read. Rhetorical Techniques In Billy Joel s The Nylon Curtain While the term authored is traditionally applied to literary works, the term can be used in a broader sense to refer to any piece which employs rhetorical devices in order to serve a specific purpose or put forth a specific message. In terms of an audio album, the cover artwork is the first part a listener is exposed to and can be expected to pique that person s curiosity so that they are led to learn more about or buy the album. The artwork created by Christopher Austopchuk for Billy Joel s album The Nylon Curtain exemplifies this concept of authoring as the scene he uses both draws one s interest when first seen and embodies a part of the social commentary presented through the lyrics of the album. This reference to the conflict at the time further appeals to the sympathies of the audience, with many opposing the war efforts which were ongoing for decades. Because of this, they would likely have identified with both the title and the songs on the album which voiced opposition to the war in Vietnam and spoke of the suffering caused by it.
