The Leaning Tower of Pisa has been slowly tilting further south for centuries. Stabilization efforts from 1990-2001 reversed this by 10%, inducing northward rotation. Monitoring since 2001 shows the rate of northward rotation decreasing to less than 0.2 arcseconds/year, and settlement rates approaching background levels. Piezometer data confirms the drainage system has stabilized groundwater under the north foundation, as intended. The tower's behavior continues to be carefully tracked.
