Persuasive Essay On Pros And Cons
There has always been an unofficial borderline between what is right and what is wrong in our
society, especially when concerning the rights of the average American citizen, are there things that
conflict with the amendments or not? What do we truly have a right to in our country as of today?
There is known to be mass surveillancehappening today and we don t have a say in rather it s
right or wrong or rather if we want it to continue, there are, of course, downsides and positives to
such a thing like mass surveillance, for example, it s easy to track down stolen vehicles if the
situation ever arises. This mass surveillance occurs within big private corporations who don t
exactly have any set parameters for where they exactly tread too close to the privacyof other people,
which is where the problem lies. Individuals sometimes don t wish to be under surveillance due to
past issues that have occurred, such as someone in the Witness Protection Program, it is obvious
that some people have to be exempt from this mass surveillance. The two arguments presented are
the collection of license plate numbers and mass surveillance harbored by private corporations
who operate on a daily basis. One argues that collecting license plate numbers is simply a
collection of public information, while the other states that these private corporations have no right
to track the average citizen. So, where s the line drawn, do they or do they not have a right to
collecting this data about license

Hausa Culture Summary
Culture Summary for Hausa The Hausa, the largest ethnic group in West Africa, are
concentrated in northern Nigeria and adjacent Niger. The Hausa have evolved from many years
of incorporation of different peoples. They share a common religion, Islam, and a common
language. The Hausa are organized into centralized kingdoms, known as emirates and they live
in hamlets, towns, and cities. The Hausa constitute the largest ethnic group in West Africa. The
term Hausa actually refers to the language and, by extension, to its native speakers, of whom
there are about 25 million. The Hausa are scattered across the savanna of northern Nigeria, the
adjacent area of Niger, and, as a result of extensive migration, in enclaves in various African
cities as far south as the Atlantic coast. The focal homeland covers an area about 640 kilometers
wide, from Lake Chad to the east to the Niger River in the west. It extends from about 11 degrees
to 14 degrees north latitude and from about 2 degrees to 14 degrees east longitude. The annual
rainfall ranges from about 50 centimeters in the north to 100 centimeters in the south Agriculture is
the main economic activity. Grain is the staple diet, including Guinea corn, millet, maize, and rice.

Alaska Non Market Environment Essay
This report is in response to your request to conduct an analysis of the non market environment
issues affecting both the State of Alaska and the Alaska Native Corporations to create an awareness
of the broad range of ways by which the non market environment, especially the government
policies affects business. Specifically, this study aims to discuss:
1.The dimensions of a non market environmental issues, stages through which it moves, and the

2.The revenue structure of the State of Alaska and its significance to the current budget shortfall;
and
3.What the economic impact is of Alaska Native Corporations to the state s current economy and

The current economy is highly dependent on the production of North Slope crude oil. It has been
the backbone of much of Alaska s economic growth, that the drop in oil price from $107.28 the

Computer Science Is The Study Of Principals And How The...
Computer Science is the study of principals and how the computers works. Which leads to
computer programming. What is computer programming? Well computer programing is a
process that leads from an original formulation of computing problem to executable computer
programs. You wonder why this is so important to everybody, but it is very important since things
you will use in your daily life had to be programmed to be able to work. For example writing this
paper I am using Microsoft Word which had to be programed so I can use it to write my papers.

even just keeping up with all of the new technology. There are hundreds of different languages
out there that anyone could learn if they had the time and patience to learn it all. COBOL
(Common Business Oriented Language) is one of the oldest languages that there is out there
(COBOL par. 1). Out of those there are Java, Python, C, C++, Ruby and JavaScript (Kim). Do
you know what the most common programming languages were in 2010? Well if you don t know
they are C++, Java, JavaScript C# and finally Visual Basic (Programming Languages par.3) For
example you will see java everywhere, it is one of the most commonly taught languages that is
good to learn if you want to become a programmer. As you start your classes, you will start with
the fairly easy programs during school and then get into the harder programs. Also according to
COBOL this is the first high level language that makes it almost seem like being a human (par. 1).

Identity In Alice s Adventures In Wonderland
Lewis Carroll s Alice s Adventures in Wonderland creates a warped reality, causing each
character s identity to become confused. An exception to this confusion of identity is the
Cheshire Cat, who shows an uncanny awareness of his own madness, giving him considerable
control over his presence and allowing him to occasionally leave only a grin behind. Alice,
contrarily, is strewn all over as she loses herself in Wonderland. In Wonderland, all are mad, but to
Alice this is preposterous, even as she fails to explain who she is both to herself and to others.
Carroll s juxtaposition of the Cheshire Catand Alice in their first meeting scene exaggerates Alice s
insecure identity and its development throughout her adventures in Wonderland. In Alice s
Adventures, Alice falls down a rabbit hole for what seems like forever, while bits and pieces of her
identity remain trapped at the entrance. After this fall,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alice begins by startling at the sight of the Cat sitting on a tree bough, while the Cat only grins
at Alice. As dear Alice asks for advice on which way she ought to continue, the Cat claims, if you
do not know where you want to end up, then surely it does not matter which way you go (Carroll
49). This simplistic view of decision making plays on the complexity that humans weave into
simple decisions of everyday life. Alice s confusion is spotlighted by this overtly simple take on
decisions, and her confusion can then be tied to the absence of a concrete identity. The Cat
proceeds to reveal that in Wonderland, we re all mad here. I m mad. You re mad, and this
awareness and acceptance of the fury within himself further serves to bold Alice s insecurity
(Carroll 49). Perhaps, if Alice knew who she was to others and to herself in Wonderland, she would
not deny the madness of Wonderlands creatures, including

Future Of Fdi During The Oil And Gas Sector Essay
Future of FDI in Canada in oil and gas sector
Even though Canadian government are showing protective approach presently because of several
factors that have affected the land, and has taken the country s wealth to other country. But some
believe that because of the foreign investment the wealth of the country has increased, and this has
contributed to the overall development of the Canada and the world. Today, there are so much
investment done and this looks like it is going to increase in future, and this has showed sign of
rejection from the country s environmentalists because it is taking away the natural resources and
polluting the environment. Even though the nation has been benefited, there is contrary feeling
towards it. On the other hand, government are taking steps to make sure that too much power or all
assets are not handled by foreign companies. But some economists believe the rules and regulations
of the government in the past has benefited and supported foreign firms rather than domestic firms,
because they were trying to cut down the expenses and increase profit in the form of tax. So, the
Gray report puts forward the following policy which suggest Canadians to posses high command
over the business and environment, increase the profit and reduce the harm of foreign direct
investment, and to hold and expand Canadian control where there is need and can be controlled.
The problem that worries the government in the past was foreign investors take domestic

Most African objects bear neither labels nor signatures, and unfortunately it is impossible to date

One is the new age of casino gaming, while the other is classic casino gaming at its finest. Live
casinos and land based casinos definitely divide opinion amongst gamblers, but which is better? In
today s digital age can land based casinos really compete? Have live casinos made them irrelevant?
Land based casinos
They have been around for over 100 years and have even been the subject of several Hollywood

However, the new innovation in the world of online casinos is set to take the industry to new
heights. Live casinos promise to bring the real time casino experience into your home and many
ways they do just that. Through a video stream setup you are able to interact with the dealer and
play as if you were at a real casino. What makes them so popular is that you forsake all the
expensive costs that come associated with land based casinos, you can bet anything and
everything and do so without the need to tip or sign up for an expensive casino membership.
You ll also never need to travel far, as you can play 24/7 from wherever you are. Many live
casinos also run competitions regularly, which you can get involved in whenever you see fit.
The last and probably most popular reason why people play at live casinos is for focus. Without
the casino floor distractions it can be argued that you can implement strategy easier and have a
greater chance of success. While there are plenty of reasons as to why millions play at live
casinos, the format isn t perfect. Playing at home doesn t offer the true Las Vegas feel that many
who gamble love. You aren t sat around tables amidst the hustle and bustle of the casino floor, you
are playing at home and thus a bit of the famous casino buzz is missing.

The personality of Doctor Manette has greatly altered throughout the book due to realizing he is

anxiety, the Doctor turned to shoemaking, working for countless hours in the Defarge s tavern.
Meeting his daughter Lucie helped greatly decrease this peculiar behavior, but the Doctor still

before he was imprisoned, the Doctor responded, I hope you care to be recalled to life? And the
old answer: I can t say (Dickens 57). It is clear that the Doctor still believes and sees flashbacks

William Shakespeare s Everyman, The Summoning Of Everyman
Introduction and Thesis Statement
The full title of Everyman is the summoning of Everyman . It is a morality play known by many
people because every character involved in the play is imperative for the plot as well as the
morality interpretation. However, Death takes most of critical role (Goldhamer, 1973). Everyman
is the main character but without Death, the play would lack its illuminative and illustrative nature.
Nonetheless, the author depicts Death as the messenger of God, cruel judge as well as rescuer of
humankind. According to the author, human kind is supposed to be answerable for the mistakes
committed by Adam. Indeed, the bad deed raises the sins of Everyman
Perception and treatment of Death
The author of the play, notwithstanding his anonymity, perceives death as God s servant and
messenger. Indeed, via different descriptions, the author leaves various spaces to direct the reader
about further thought in regards to the actual thought of the Death as depicted in the play.
Therefore, throughout the play, Death s character is undeniable. Death is what all and sundry in
this world should be anticipating. Through the Death s image, the author depicts a description of
allegory and physical of moral death. According to Cawley (1960), such visualization is indeed
persuasive evidence of the fact that is invisible in the normal and ordinary life people live in. Crisp
(2001), adds that the visualization traps individual in eternal fear. Furthermore, it leads to great

Political Influence On Judges
I do not believe that politics plays a role in a Judge s decision if that Judge is from the lower
courts. When you start looking at the judges of higher courts it does play a role in their decision, a
small roll, but a role none the less. We have collected data on thousands of sitting state and federal
judges in the United Statesfor nearly twenty years using controlled experiments. We present judges
with a single hypothetical case so that large numbers of judges respond to the same situation. We
have collected this data for other purposes, but we commonly ask judges participating in our
research to identify their political orientation. This methodology enables us to examine how judges
with different political affiliations evaluate the same case. Because most of our studies involve trial
judges rather than appellate judges, we also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We present results involving civil and criminal cases reviewed by over 2,200 judges, including
federal district judges, federal magistrate judges, federal bankruptcy judges, trial judges from nine
states, and judges from multiple states attending national conferences. Our results suggest that
politics has only a modest influence on trial judges. We find that politics has an impact on judges
decisions in only a few of our hypothetical cases, but when we aggregate across scenarios (as
political scientists do in their research), we do find a pattern of political influence. Although we
conclude that political attitudes influence judges, the effect of political influence is sufficiently
small that trial judges likely do not notice it in their day to day decision making. (Jeffrey J.
Rachlinski Andrew J. Wistrich Chris Guthrie, 2017). In my opinion there is no way that a Judgecan
be appointed without politics coming into play. The lower court s Judges are elected by the public.

Entering the gym resonates an immediate feeling of dedication. Double glass doors open,
making an odd creak that only those two doors are able to make. The sound of these doors
opening brings a chill down the spine. Once the gym is entered, there is a large brown trashcan

driving lesson. My dad refusal to teach me how to drive. Only motivated me to learn how to
drive on my own. In high school in I had a couple of friends that own cars and they gladly taught
me how to drive afterschool. Eventually, I acquired enough driving experience that I felt
confident enough to take my driving test. When I asked my dad to take me to the Department of
Motor Vehicles to take my test he said no . All he said was that it was just a waste of time since I
did not know how to drive I begged for over a month. Eventually, he said yes and I made my
appointment when the day came for me to take my driving test my dad was confident that I was
not going to pass the test. To his surprise and mine I was passed the exam on the first try. This
was the first step in gaining my independence from my parents. The next one was getting a car,
again my dad said no . However, I was lucky enough that one of my uncles was letting go of one
of his trucks and he was giving it to me for my eighteen birthday. At this point my dad said that if
I wanted a car I would have to pay for my own gas and any maintenance the car may need.
Therefore, I needed to get a job and that is exactly what I did. I think obtaining my own car

The Splendid Story of My Ear Piercing
Today I would like to tell you the splendid story of how I got my second ear piercing. I got them
done sometime in December at Claire s I believe. I got my first holes pierced when I was a year
old, just like one of my best friends Cassie. She had gotten her second holes a few days before mine
because there was a snowstorm the day my parent were going to take me and therefor I had to wait
a few days until the streets were clear again.
When I had asked about getting my second ear holes my mom immediately said yes, which is
usually that way because my mom doesn t care as long as I ask her first and it s not completely
stupid. Sadly it wasn t the same for my dad who wasn t too fond about me getting another
piercing. That is another reason as to why I had to wait longer for my ear piercing than Cassie
because it had literally token my mom, me, and Cass an entire day to convince him to let me do
it. We picked up Cassie on the way to the mall because I had wanted someone to look if the X s
were at the same height before they pierce my ear and make it permanent, and my father had said
that he doesn t want to be the one responsible if they end up crooked . You should probably know
that my dad is terrible in telling if something is straight or not.
When we got to the mall, Cass decided to tell me about how much it hurt and what all could go
wrong if the people in the store messed something up. Me, being the awesome person I am though
told her that if I could survive six days

Comparison Of March Of The Penguins And Happy Feet
In the films March of the Penguins and Happy Feet we get the essentially the same story both
times. The movies try to depict the life of a penguin and the struggles that they deal with. In both
cases the audience is going to walk away thinking that they have received this. However, March of
the Penguins is a genuine display of a penguin s life while Happy Feet feeds us a happy cartoon.
Another thing to consider here is the audience that might be attending each film. In this case a child
is going to be much more pleased with Happy Feet for obvious reasons, while an adult might
enjoy the experience of knowing how a penguin actually lives in the wild. Any viewer can have a
preference for this or that, they either want the real thing or the fairytale... Show more content on

It is an act that is taking place in front of the camera and just being captured. There are usually no
special effects and no one is manipulating the scene. During this film when the egg falls onto the
ice it is a very real thing happening. Inside the egg is a live penguin of some sort and it is
actually dying on film. While it is very sad, it is nature taking its course with no human
intervention and regardless if it was captured or not this egg would still have frozen while the
parent looked on helplessly. These are not people waddling around in costumes or a special
effects egg that is made to represent the real thing, it is real life. There is no recreating or acting
out a moment like this which is why this is easily viewed as a realist film. That is where mise en
scene comes into play. Everything that you do see is without a doubt real and not a constructed
set. They didn t just kill penguins to throw on camera and they didn t bring in stuffed ones either.
They simply recorded what they saw and found. Everything from the blistering cold winds to the
layers upon layers of snow dropped upon the enormous flock of birds is authentic. Even the
lighting and sounds around them is what the crew is forced to work with, no one on this earth
can change a blizzard just because they want to get a better shot for a movie. It s something that
would be very difficult to recreate and equally difficult to capture. The only effect that humans
add is the Voice of god that Morgan Freeman is giving to us. This man is never seen on screen
and is never mentioned throughout but he knows exactly what is going on and also he is very
knowledgeable about the unfolding events. This voice seemingly comes out of nowhere and that
is why it is referred to as such. While in actuality this man probably never set foot in Antarctica
and mostly likely recorded all of this in an air conditioned studio somewhere. So

Petitioner V. Kulbicki Case Study
the court case Maryland, Petitioner v. James Kulbicki, James Kulbicki fatally shot his 22 year old
mistress. Kulbicki shot his mistress on the weekend before he was scheduled for a hearing on
unpaid child support, which was tied into a paternity suit between Kulbicki and his mistress. At
Kulbicki s trial, which began in 1995, evidence was presented that the bullet removed from the head
of Kulbicki s mistress matched the bullet fragment that was left in Kulbicki s truck. FBI Agent
Ernest Peele, who represented the CBLA (Comparative Bullet Lead Analysis), presented this
evidence. Peele also examined a bullet taken from Kulbicki s gun. Even though the bullet in the
victim s brain was not an exact match to the bullet found in the gun, Peele assumed that the bullet
from the gun was similar enough to the first two bullets found. Using... Show more content on

Kulbicki s file stayed in the state court until 2006, when Kulbicki added an additional claim that his
defense attorneys did not adequately question the legitimacy of the ballistics evidence presented by
the CBLA. Kulbucki lost in the state courts and then appealed to the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
The Court of Appeals then vacated Kulbucki s conviction based on the fact that Kulbucki s
attorneys did not question the legitimacy of the ballistics evidence, thus the defense attorneys did
not provide Kulbucki with effective assistance during the trial. However, the Supreme Court of the
United States held, in a per curiam opnion, that the Court of Appeals based the decision to vacate
Kulbicki s conviction on contemporary views of ballistic evidence. Since there was no reason for
counsel to investigate the validity of the ballistic evidence in 1995, the attorneys provided
effective assistance to Kulbicki because effective assistance did not require attorneys to verify the
legitimacy of the ballistic evidence (Maryland v. Kulbicki, 136 S. Ct. 2

Therefore, costs previously recorded for the first three flight test airplanes will be reclassified
from program inventory to research and development expense, resulting in an estimated non cash
charge of $2.5 billion pre tax, or $2.21 per share, against third quarter results. This charge will have
no impact on the company s cash outlook going forward.
The comparison, effectiveness, and positive versus negative reactions to the use of these control

Six Sigma affords the avoidance of a hit and miss approach by breaking into measurable bites an
entire chain of events leading to a problem, and then coming up with a corrective action (Roff,

My understanding of the Lincoln Electric Company s culture
An organization s culture consists of unseen elements such as assumptions and values that affect
organizational life, it is the personality of the company. At Lincoln Electric, even though they never
had a formal organization chart, the culture is an extremely significant aspect of everyday life and a
powerful asset; its unique and hard to imitate conceptualization gives the firm an undeniable
competitive advantage and insures maximum flexibility.
Over the decades and since it was first created, the ongoing guidance and encouragement of the
management towards their employees made Lincoln s expansion possible to a global level. The
ideas and philosophy of the founders are still at the core of the organizational culture because they
strongly supported the company in its initial stages and helped distinguish it from others. Thus, by
providing a competitive advantage, these values were retained as part of the corporate culture and
were taught to new members as the right way to do business.
The principles and ideas in which James F. Lincoln believed and that brought him his success are
still those that drive the current Board of Directors and employees every day.
His vision of the customer s needs as the raison d etre for every company was a key to a better
growth of his organization; it remains at the center of everybody s attention and is reflected in

The Shocking Ideas of Kate Chopin s The Awakening
The Shocking Ideas of The Awakening Ideas that resist existing social boundaries commonly are
rejected at first, because people don t want to wake up from their reliable lives. Kate Chopin,
however, believed that an awakening was in order, and she attempted to open the eyes of
society through her novel The Awakening. The public s reaction to Chopin s novel was not one
of acceptance. Too strong a drink for moral babies, and should be labeled poison, was the how
the Republic described Chopin s work (Seyersted 174). This is how society viewed a novel that is
intended to give people insight into the minds and feelings of women as human beings. Of course,
over the years, society grew to not only accept Chopin s ideas, but to embrace... Show more content

Chopin translated eight of his works and through him developed her style of writing. She shared
his concept of a hero : An isolated world weary and misanthropic hero who revels in his own
sensuality; who trusts in nature and distrusts human relationships, especially love; who
experiences a sense of liberation through solitary walks and confidences in his writing... and who
is strongly drawn to death as a solution to the repetitive meaninglessness of life s pleasures.
(Taylor 160) This was the basic outline for the plot of The Awakening. The book starts with
Edna, a New Orleans high society wife and mother who was miserable with her life. While
spending the summer in Grand Isle, Edna meets Mademoiselle Reiz whose music is the only
thing in which Edna finds happiness. Through the music Edna awakens to the fact that she has
the right to be happy. Finding Edna s behavior unusual, her husband Mr. Pontellier takes the
advice of a friend and leaves on a long business trip, giving Edna her space. On the isle she also
meets Robert Lebrun who awakens her to a passion Mr. Pontellier could never give her. During
the summer they fall deeply in love but Robert is scared of being condemned by society and flees
to Mexico.(Bloom 11). After Robert leaves, Edna meets Alcee Arobin. Hopeful that Alcee will be
like Robert, she takes him into her home. Once there Alcee becomes as controlling as Mr. Pontellier.

Subliminal Context of Horror within Frankenstein by Mary...
Frankenstein deals with much. It has the obvious nightmarish terrors represented in the monster,
terrifying in both sight and murderous actions. There however exists a subliminal context of horror
within the narrative. The characters within the narrative reveal the moral shortcomings of
humanity, and when stripped to its base constructs, amount to little more than what the monster
becomes. It shows the psychological frailty of man, and when unhinged the dangers it is capable of.
The civilized mindcan refer to both the individual and society, or humanity as a whole. It is also
interesting and worth to note the interaction and juxtaposition of the two entities interacting with
each other; the terrors within the individual under the cloak of a civilized mind intermingling with
society and the demons in hides away in the shadows. Fearis oftentimes the culprit of a mind s
downfall. It transforms average anxieties and typical __ into nightmarish terrors which run
rampant in Gothic Writing. It is why Gothic writing had, and stil has a foothold in the realm of
literature, the texts within the genre speak to the fears that incessantly itch the brain. One of these
fears would be loneliness (reword). Unwelcome solitude has the ability to drive a sane man to
insanity and a mad man to decrepitude. It is what first borne the ill will within the monster, for I
was benevolent; my soul glowed with loveand humanity: but am I not alone, miserably alone?

Biological And Social Norms Of Gender Roles
Introduction
In general, social psychology looks at how people think about one another, but as well as how
they influence and relate to each other (Myers, 2014, pg. 554). Gender plays a fascinating role
within our social settings. Biological sex defines gender, however biology and social
characteristics help define a male and a female (Myers, 2014, pg.154). Gender roles are behaviours
that a culture would typically expect from both male and females (Myers, 2014, pg.159). Our
expectations for things like the parent that stays home with the children, shopping, driving, and
who pays for dinner on a date come from these gender roles. Gender roles bring up questions

Historical Inaccuracy in Braveheart
The idea that film is a medium in which a director can comment on the ills of society has been
around since the first motion picture was made. The problem with this fact is that directors and

vigorously about. The story of William Wallacein the movie Braveheartwhile historically fairly

In the movie, Wallace is introduced to the audience as a common man with very humble
beginnings whose father was a farmer. He was in fact not the son of a common farmer but the
son of a low level. Wallace first acted in anger against the English when he was insulted by the
son of an English governor and proceeded to strike him dead and he began his military career.
His military dream to free Scotland started in May 1297 after the murder of Marion Braidfoot
who is the historical basis for the character Murron in Braveheart. Wallace won the battle of
Stirling; he was kind of disappointed when he remembered that he had to fight the English king.
The English king brought his army north. The English army had infantry and archers as well as
over 3000 cavalry. The Scottish army was only half the size and had almost no cavalry. The
Scottish army lost, Wallace however went into hiding. The film Braveheart makes the audience
believe that Wallace went around killing his enemies in Scotland, there is however no historical
evidence for this belief. Politics were beginning to change due to the manipulations of Edward I
and even England s enemies wouldn t offer Wallace any help. After traveling to France, germane
and Rome he returns to Scotland after almost years abroad to find out he was betrayed to the
English by a Scottish noble named Sir John Menteith and was turned over to the English for a trial.
He was then taken to for trial and execution. The film Braveheart is

active role is portrayed which gives the reader a strong affect on how much the victim who has

Agricultural Subsidies In The United States
Agricultural subsidies have existed in the United States for over a hundred years. The 1916
Federal Farm Loan Act provided affordable loans to farmers. Several programs emerged during
the New Deal Era that supported the development of crop insurance, limited competition,
production controls and much more. A struggling finance industry in the 1980s led to an increase
in the government financial support of farms, despite calls from the Reagan administration to cut
subsidies. In 1996, the Freedom to Farm law drew away from the subsidies and support market
supply and demand. However, in the years following, Congress started to again funnel subsidies
to the agricultural industry. The original provisions of the 1996 law would have resulted in $47
billion in subsidy cost over 7 years; instead, spending reached well over $120 billion (Orden,

Not only did the bill expand subsidies by 74% over 10 years, but it established a counter cyclical

it also instituted two subsidy programs; Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage. The
bill was originally supposed to save taxpayers money; however, it is now clear that the new

  • 9. Identity In Alice s Adventures In Wonderland Lewis Carroll s Alice s Adventures in Wonderland creates a warped reality, causing each character s identity to become confused. An exception to this confusion of identity is the Cheshire Cat, who shows an uncanny awareness of his own madness, giving him considerable control over his presence and allowing him to occasionally leave only a grin behind. Alice, contrarily, is strewn all over as she loses herself in Wonderland. In Wonderland, all are mad, but to Alice this is preposterous, even as she fails to explain who she is both to herself and to others. Carroll s juxtaposition of the Cheshire Catand Alice in their first meeting scene exaggerates Alice s insecure identity and its development throughout her adventures in Wonderland. In Alice s Adventures, Alice falls down a rabbit hole for what seems like forever, while bits and pieces of her identity remain trapped at the entrance. After this fall,... As dear Alice asks for advice on which way she ought to continue, the Cat claims, if you do not know where you want to end up, then surely it does not matter which way you go (Carroll 49). This simplistic view of decision making plays on the complexity that humans weave into simple decisions of everyday life. Alice s confusion is spotlighted by this overtly simple take on decisions, and her confusion can then be tied to the absence of a concrete identity. The Cat proceeds to reveal that in Wonderland, we re all mad here. I m mad. You re mad, and this awareness and acceptance of the fury within himself further serves to bold Alice s insecurity (Carroll 49). Perhaps, if Alice knew who she was to others and to herself in Wonderland, she would not deny the madness of Wonderlands creatures, including ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a morality play known by many people because every character involved in the play is imperative for the plot as well as the morality interpretation. However, Death takes most of critical role (Goldhamer, 1973). Everyman is the main character but without Death, the play would lack its illuminative and illustrative nature. We have collected data on thousands of sitting state and federal judges in the United Statesfor nearly twenty years using controlled experiments. We present judges with a single hypothetical case so that large numbers of judges respond to the same situation. We find that politics has an impact on judges decisions in only a few of our hypothetical cases, but when we aggregate across scenarios (as political scientists do in their research), we do find a pattern of political influence. Although we conclude that political attitudes influence judges, the effect of political influence is sufficiently small that trial judges likely do not notice it in their day to day decision making. However, the Supreme Court of the United States held, in a per curiam opnion, that the Court of Appeals based the decision to vacate Kulbicki s conviction on contemporary views of ballistic evidence. Since there was no reason for counsel to investigate the validity of the ballistic evidence in 1995, the attorneys provided effective assistance to Kulbicki because effective assistance did not require attorneys to verify the legitimacy of the ballistic evidence (Maryland v. This charge will have no impact on the company s cash outlook going forward. According to Bateman and Snell (2009, p. 582), the acceptable failure rate is 99.99966 percent level of accuracy. Although Six Sigma is a powerful control mechanism, it takes about 2 3 years from the time of implementation until its development is fully realized. My understanding of the Lincoln Electric Company s culture An organization s culture consists of unseen elements such as assumptions and values that affect organizational life, it is the personality of the company. At Lincoln Electric, even though they never had a formal organization chart, the culture is an extremely significant aspect of everyday life and a powerful asset; its unique and hard to imitate conceptualization gives the firm an undeniable competitive advantage and insures maximum flexibility. Over the decades and since it was first created, the ongoing guidance and encouragement of the management towards their employees made Lincoln s expansion possible to a global level. The ideas and philosophy of the founders are still at the core of the organizational culture because they strongly supported the company in its initial stages and helped distinguish it from others. Thus, by providing a competitive advantage, these values were retained as part of the corporate culture and were taught to new members as the right way to do business. The principles and ideas in which James F. Lincoln believed and that brought him his success are still those that drive the current Board of Directors and employees every day. The Shocking Ideas of Kate Chopin s The Awakening The Shocking Ideas of The Awakening Ideas that resist existing social boundaries commonly are rejected at first, because people don t want to wake up from their reliable lives. Kate Chopin, however, believed that an awakening was in order, and she attempted to open the eyes of society through her novel The Awakening. The public s reaction to Chopin s novel was not one of acceptance. Too strong a drink for moral babies, and should be labeled poison, was the how the Republic described Chopin s work (Seyersted 174). This is how society viewed a novel that is intended to give people insight into the minds and feelings of women as human beings. (Taylor 160) This was the basic outline for the plot of The Awakening. The book starts with Edna, a New Orleans high society wife and mother who was miserable with her life. While spending the summer in Grand Isle, Edna meets Mademoiselle Reiz whose music is the only thing in which Edna finds happiness. Through the music Edna awakens to the fact that she has the right to be happy. Finding Edna s behavior unusual, her husband Mr. Pontellier takes the advice of a friend and leaves on a long business trip, giving Edna her space. On the isle she also meets Robert Lebrun who awakens her to a passion Mr. Pontellier could never give her. During the summer they fall deeply in love but Robert is scared of being condemned by society and flees to Mexico.(Bloom 11). After Robert leaves, Edna meets Alcee Arobin. • 31. Subliminal Context of Horror within Frankenstein by Mary... Frankenstein deals with much. It has the obvious nightmarish terrors represented in the monster, terrifying in both sight and murderous actions. There however exists a subliminal context of horror within the narrative. The characters within the narrative reveal the moral shortcomings of humanity, and when stripped to its base constructs, amount to little more than what the monster becomes. It shows the psychological frailty of man, and when unhinged the dangers it is capable of. The civilized mindcan refer to both the individual and society, or humanity as a whole. It is also interesting and worth to note the interaction and juxtaposition of the two entities interacting with each other; the terrors within the individual under the cloak of a civilized mind intermingling with society and the demons in hides away in the shadows. Fearis oftentimes the culprit of a mind s downfall. It transforms average anxieties and typical __ into nightmarish terrors which run rampant in Gothic Writing. It is why Gothic writing had, and stil has a foothold in the realm of literature, the texts within the genre speak to the fears that incessantly itch the brain. One of these fears would be loneliness (reword). Unwelcome solitude has the ability to drive a sane man to insanity and a mad man to decrepitude. He was in fact not the son of a common farmer but the son of a low level. Wallace first acted in anger against the English when he was insulted by the son of an English governor and proceeded to strike him dead and he began his military career. His military dream to free Scotland started in May 1297 after the murder of Marion Braidfoot who is the historical basis for the character Murron in Braveheart.
