Research Essay
Writing a research essay can be a challenging task that demands a combination of skills, time,
and dedication. The process involves not only the ability to gather and analyze information but
also to present a coherent and well-structured argument. It requires a deep understanding of the
chosen topic, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
The difficulty begins with the initial stages of research, where one must sift through a vast sea
of information to find relevant and reliable sources. The synthesis of these sources requires
careful analysis and interpretation, ensuring that the information contributes meaningfully to the
overall argument. Crafting a thesis statement that encapsulates the essence of the essay further
adds to the challenge, as it sets the tone for the entire piece.
The organization of ideas within the essay is crucial. Each paragraph needs to flow logically from
the previous one, and the essay as a whole should have a clear and cohesive structure. Balancing
the depth of analysis with conciseness is also a hurdle, as the writer must delve into the details
without losing sight of the broader picture.
The actual writing process demands a mastery of language, grammar, and style. Clarity and
precision are essential, as the writer must convey complex ideas in a way that is accessible to the
reader. Additionally, maintaining a scholarly tone while injecting one's voice into the essay
requires a delicate balance.
Revision is a key component of the writing process. Revisiting and refining the essay multiple
times is necessary to ensure coherence, clarity, and a polished final product. This can be a time-
consuming task but is crucial for producing a high-quality research essay.
In conclusion, crafting a research essay is a demanding endeavor that encompasses various skills,
from research and analysis to writing and revision. It is an intellectual journey that challenges the
writer to think critically, communicate effectively, and present a well-substantiated argument.
Despite its difficulty, successfully completing a research essay can be a rewarding experience,
contributing not only to academic growth but also to the development of essential skills.

The Ideas Of Tropes In The Faerie Queene And Eurydice
There is the parent who attempts to give advice and shield their children Li l Bit s
mother, and the relative the main character can confide in Uncle Peck. This supports
the idea that although tropes and clichГ©s are discouraged, they can be an integral
part of a text. Most writing isn t truly original since writers draw their inspirations
from elsewhere and are influenced by things that came before. If these tropes and
clichГ©s did not persist throughout time, then writers would not continue to be
influenced by them and create the pieces that they have. Ruhl and Vogel were both
influenced by Greek mythologyand Greek choruses, which allowed them to produce
unique and modern texts that contained those classical elements.
Even Edmund Spenser, who authored the epic poem The Faerie Queene drew from
Greek mythology, Greek names, places, and people to create a piece of literature
that is relatable and understandable, even though it is over 400 years old. Humans,
as a whole, have not changed too much since the beginning of time, so the
interwoven character tropes are recognizable then and now. These literary devices
transcend time and continue to be used in the present. One could find cruel villains
in both The Faerie Queene and Eurydice. Whether it s the wicked magician
Archimago, in the case of The Faerie Queene, or A Nasty Interesting Man Hadesin
the case of Eurydice. Hades is always represented as the bad boy, the villain, and this
is true in Eurydice. It is with him that she
Comparison of Donne and Jennings Poetry
Consider the ways in which Donne and Jennings use form, structure and language
to present their thoughts and ideas. You should make relevant references to your
wider reading in the poetry of love. The poem the The Anniversary By John Donne,
is a metaphysical poem about the sun itself growing older each year, this process
reminds Donne that him and his lover are closer to their end. The second poem is
called One Flesh , and is written by Elizabeth Jennings. In the course of this poem
Jennings explores the relationship and separateness of her now elderly parents. There
are multiple contrasting factors between these two poems, considering they are both
written from different time periods and view love in sharply differing perspective....

Therefore, some may interpret their love as lasting forever because they are
everything , possibly even death itself. On the other hand, in the Jennings poem
One Flesh the loss of love can occur without the physical death of two beings. As
both these elderly couples continue to live but have already dead love. The quote;
lying apart now is particularly ambiguous, it may show how the lovers lay apart
from one another in life or either how they are already dead and lay apart in
separate coffins. Either way it can be seen to show a lack of love, by the notion of
them both being apart . The cycle of fire is metaphorical to the death of love, as
Jennings notes fire she came from has now grown cold . This may imply how no
fire, which represents passion cannot last, and will soon have a death and turn cold
. Nonetheless, there is a slight connection to Donne s poem and the idea of love
being continued in the afterlife. Jennings sees the partners distance as being
strangely apart yet straggly close together . The repetition of strangely highlights
how this is an abnormal circumstance, as Jennings could be communicating how
that despite their difference the bond of love is strong and will hold them
together, maybe even in death. Moreover, a desire to escape love and be free from
it can be communicated by how the woman partner is dreaming of childhood .
Childhood can signify a young girl s dream of growing up and having a fairy tale

Speech On Multilingualism
MULTILINGUALISM AND MY CONTEXT
India is a country where over 1650 mother tongues belonging to five different
language families viz. Indo Aryan, Dravidian, Austro Asiatic, Tibeto Burman and,
Andamanese are spoken. India is such a landscape where we can find multilingual
environment everywhere.
Chhattisgarh and languages
I am a Bengali native speaker, presently residing in Chhattisgarh, where Chhattisgarhi,
Hindi, English Oriya and also many sub languages (so called Boli ) are used by the
people. In the context of Chhattisgarh we can also find multilingual environment in
school education system. In this state native speakers are also using Hindi language,
(This is growing) beside Chhattisgarhi Language. What is the reason behind it? In
conversations with native people and teachers I come to know that they denied ...

Multilingualism is easily defined as an occurrence regarding an individual or group of
speaker(s) who use(s) two or more languages, a community of speakers where two or
more language are used as oral or written form. Multilingualism basically arises to
communicate with speech communities. There are two type of multilingualism is
seen in our scenario: These two type of multilingualism are: A) Additive
multilingualism and B) Subtractive multilingualism.
Additive bi/multilingualism: Additive multilingualism enriches both the languages
by their usage; e.g. if a child cherishes/nourishes other languages side by side his
mother tongue too, then it is called additive bi/multilingualism.
Subtractive multilingualism: It refers to the gradual loss of the first language as the
second language dominates learner s functional space, in which case the speaker s
loyalty shifted towards acquired language; e.g. if a child acquired second language
and this language dominates upon his/her mother tongue and he/she priorities and
shifts loyalty to acquired language, then it is called subtractive multilingualism.

The Negative Effects Of Propaganda In The Media
If I told you fire is not hot and that s just a depiction in your mind. Would you
believe me? If your answer is no, let s just say if I believe it is true and provide you
with false data and statistics and keep repeating it until it becomes true to you. The
problems are not the lie itself, but how many people would believe it; is the problem.
This is how propagandaor should I say, fake news works. Propaganda is a form of
communication that can sway or influence a person mindset. It can be seen in a
positive or negative light. However, in today society propaganda is used in our
media to control the citizen, however, it does not only affect us, but other citizen in
other countries as well. What are the negative effects of propaganda and how to
prevent it? The problems are false information spreading that can cause people to be
uncertain about what going on. The fact that the media is filled with so many
alternatives to the truthpeople are unsure about what is true or not. If everybody
always lies to you, the consequence is not that you believe the lies, but rather that
nobody believes anything any longer and a people that no longer can believe
anything cannot make up its mind. It is deprived not only of its capacity to act but
also of its capacity to think and to judge. And with such a people you can then do
what you please. said Hannah Arendt. How to avoid being propagandized? To avoid
being propagandized one s must seek the truth. It s important to be well informed

Persuasive Essay On Euthanasia
A young, vibrant, teenage girl at the age of fourteen becomes diagnosed with
terminal cancer. After enduring four years of countless chemotherapy treatments
and surgeries, maintaining a steady and healthy diet, and missing her teenage years
due to her illness, the girl remains forlorn in the hospital. Physicians and nurses do
all that they can to assist the poor girl to help her deficient, substandard state but
with no avail. Her family mourns; crushed, heartbroken, devastated. They
remember her as their loving care free daughter, a caring sister, a loyal friend. Their
beloved daughter is losing her positive touch and the decision to cut off the support
lies in the hands of the eighteen year old girl, her family, and the physicians. This
raises the questions: How soon is too soon to die? Are there other options beyond
assisted suicide? And, What is the young girl s overall fate?
Euthanasia, otherwise known as physician assisted suicide, is defined in the
MedicineNet online medical dictionary as the voluntary termination of one s own life
by administration of a lethal substance with the direct or indirect assistance of a
physician (MedicineNet). The act of euthanasia is a prevalent, modern issue that has
been a highly debated and controversial topic throughout societies worldwide. For
generations, the conversation of assisted suicide remains a contemporary and modern
dilemma becoming increasingly speculated due to constantly evolving medicinal
practices and procedures further
Most Significant Event Report
The significant event that occurred to me was my ninth birthday. The event was
very special to me because I am Muslim; and when a Muslim girl turns nine she
wears the hijab. My mother threw a big party for me; she made the party at the
Mosque. My mother took me to the hairstylist before going to my party. I was so
happy getting my hair done because all my Muslim friends were going to be at the
party; and see how nice I look. Also, my motherdressed me up like a princess; and in
that time, I felt like a princess. When I was in the mosque all the attention was on
me. I was sitting in the front where all the people in the mosque can see me. I was
so shy because I was not use to all of the attention. A lady came standing beside and

When I started to wear the hijab, I was very excited and nerves about the hijab.
The reason why I was very excited to wear the hijab was because most of my
Muslim friends were wearing the hijab; and my mother always talks about the
hijab. Also, I was very nerves to wear the hijab because my school did not have
many Muslim girls that wear the hijab. I told my dad to talk to my teachers about
my hijab; and I told my dad to tell the teacher to tell the students to not pick on me,
or bully me because of the hijab. I remember the first day I want to school with my
hijab; I was very afraid and anxious to go to school. I thought that my friends were
not going to be my friend because of my hijab. But, I was very shocked when I
went to school because my teachers were so supportive; and that I found out that
my teacher talked to the students about my hijab before I went to school. I was
grateful about the kindness of the teacher. The students in my class treated me the
same way they always treat me, and my friends were very supportive. Also, my dad
showed up to my classroom with a cake. The classroom singed happy birthday to me,
and took pictures with
Influential People in My Life
In my seventeen years of life many events have helped me develop into the
strapping young man I am today. Despite the countless happenings that have
influenced my being, only three have notably impacted my life. These include the
dichotomy between my life here in the United States and the lives of my cousins in
Mexico, the divorce of my parents and how I experienced that as a third grader, and
the introduction of four people into my life. These occurrences by no means have all
been positive, but they have helped influence my outlook on my life, my family, my
friends, and my faith. I am the child of Laura Elena Miramon and Miguel Chapa III.
As a child, my motherlived in the border city of Mexicali and my father in El
Centro, California. In his earlier years of life, my father moved to Mexicali then to
the city that Mexicali bordered: Calexico. He later married my mother and brought
her to the United States. Unlike all the other branches of my parents families, only
theirs managed to emigrate from Mexico into the United States of America. When
I say branches , I mean immediate family. My father and his parents were the only
ones to live in the United States. My mother had a different situation, she married
my father and moved to this country leaving all her family (sisters, cousins,
parents) back in Mexico. Fast forward a few years and in the town of El Centro (the
town right next to Calexico) an infant Miguel Chapa IV sleeps quietly in his crib.

Narrative Therapy Was Developed Michael White And
David...
Overview of Narrative therapy
Narrative therapy was developed Michael White and David Epston. It is said to be an
approach to family therapy that is built on the belief that reality is constructed,
organized and maintained through the stories we create. (Corsini Wedding, 2008)
According to Corey s key terms and definitions narrative therapy is a postmodern
approach that is based on the therapist s personal characteristics that allow for
creating a climate that encourages clients to see their stories from different
perspectives. Grounded in a philosophical framework, narrative practices assist
clients in finding new meanings and new possibilities in their lives. (Corey, Theory
and Practice of Counselling ad Psychotherapy, 2014) The viewpoint of narrative
therapy is that people are stuck in their problems because of the stories they have
created. It is made up of the idea that people have many interacting narratives that go
into making up their sense of who they are.
Narrative therapy is a method of therapy which encourages persons to externalize
their presenting problem or issue and become separate from it making it easier for
them to deal with it. Personal experiences are changed into personal stories that are
given meaning by the person telling the story. It shapes and forms the person s
identity. Being able to tell a story is a way of helping the client to describe the
presenting problem. (REF)
According to Alice Morgan, Narrative therapy is a respectful and

and couldn t get out of the situation so decided not to get into more trouble and got

Postpartum Depression
Ultimately, Charlotte Perkins Gilman incorporates her own personal experiences with
postpartum depression into a narrative which shows broad implications of women,
how society portrays and treats them in many ways and how those women respond to
those treatments.
The injustice in society between gender is shown through the relationship between the
narrator and John, her husband. In the story, John never once called her by her name,
sometimes a blessed little goose or some other animal name, like an adult looking
down at a minority. This is a discrimination towards women and clearly represents
how unfairly women were treated during those times. They were looked down upon,
treated as below human, equalling animals. John expects nothing more ... Show more

At first she only wishes to be normal, saying mere ordinary people like John and
myself . She goes mad because her role in society is limited and her ability to
express herself is constricted. The wallpaper symbolises her imprisonment and the
domestic life that traps so many women in the late nineteenth century. Yellow
usually symbolises happiness, but ironically, in this narrative the narrator is being
trapped and driven mad by the color. She only sees a repellent, almost revolting
color; a smoldering yellow, strangely faded by the slow turning sunlight.
Eventually, she sees patterns which come into focus as a desperate woman,
constantly crawling and stooping, looking for an escape from the main pattern
which resemble the bars of a cage. The narrator sees herself behind the wallpaper,
realising for the first time what her status is. Like all other women during the late
nineteenth century, she wishes to break free from this sort of environment where
women are considered to be nothing more than housewives. At that time in society,
women were expected to live their life bound at home, taking care of cooking,
houseworks and raising children. Free time for women was meant for them to be
sewing and doing the laundry instead of socializing in society. Many women began to
protest, some became vocal participants of women s rights movement. The narrator
has to hide the only thing she finds comfort in from everyone,
Workers During The Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution was a transition of new manufacturing processes in the
period starting at about 1760 1840 . During this current period the U.S population
doubled and more than 14 million immigrants came to the U.S. Some positives of
this time was the industry was able to efficiently produce more good s with new
machines and process. These new machines meant they needed less people to work
so i caused people to lose there jobs . (negative)
The industrial revolution working times were rough because the employers would set
wages as low as they wanted to because people were willing to do work as long as
they got paid because they needed money and any type of money would do . Child
laborers often worked to help support their families,
Inflation Essay
Global economy has been changing significantly in past several decades which has
been affected by the goods and services in the national borders leading to the
movement of the country up and down in the international system economically. The
economy of the country is strictly hit by two important factors that are: deflation and
inflation. Deflation can be defined as the decrease in the price of the goods or
services provided. In the other hand, inflation can be defined as the increase in the
price of the goods and services. It is observed that the deflation increases the power of
purchasing and increase the value for the money whereas the inflation cause the
decrease in the economic power. Inflation plays the vital role for the fluctuation of the
economy in the country that directly affects the economy of the world. It actually
affects the various macroeconomics and microeconomics factor of the economy
leading to various consequences. The most important consequences is unemployment.
The phenomenon of inflation has been described in three different views: a)
general view, b) Keynesian view and c) modern view. According to the general
view it has been described as the increase in the price of goods and services but
decrease in the value of the money. According to Keynes, it is the states when there
is increase in the goods and prices as well as increase in the employment. The
inflation is caused due to the increase in the expenditure that causing the shortage of
the goods and
Inner Conflict In Hamlet
Through the multitude of analyses of Hamlet that have occurred since Shakespeare
debuted the play in 1783, multiple stances can be made from the plot and dialogue
within. For instance, in Act Three Scene Three a religious reading can be made. The
scene depicts two major inner conflicts that occur in both Claudius and Hamlet
through the use of dueling soliloquies.
To start, Claudius is battling with his inner guilt and attempting to ask for
forgiveness for his sins, but he refuses to give up the prizes he obtained by sinning.
This conflict is seen when Claudius says, ...since I am still possessed/ of those
effects for which I did the murder: My crown, mine own ambition, and my queen.
May one be pardoned and retain th offense (Act e. Scene 3. Lines 57 60). He was
given the crown and Gertrude by killing King Hamlet, which causes him to battle
with staying on the strict moral code that his religion set for him, since he has found
being king to be wonderful. He enjoys having power, and he does not want to lose
that power no matter what the Bible has laid out for him and how he s supposed to
act. However, despite his clear yearn for power, he is seen asking for forgiveness.
This can most easily be noted in line 40 when he says, O, my offense is rank, it
smells to Heaven and line 56 of the scene when Claudius says, Forgive me my foul
murder , since it proves that Claudius is aware that he sinned and must now ask for
forgiveness. The act of asking for forgiveness despite not
The Elements Of Critical Thinking As A Critical Thinker
Critical thinking is that mode of thinking about any subject, content, or problem in
which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully taking
charge of the structures inherent in thinking and imposing intellectual standards
upon them. (Paul and Elder, 2014). Like going to the gym, deciding to go back to
school to improve your way of life, or saving for a long awaited vacation, critical
thinking similarly requires a self controlled, well organized, and strategic order of
procedures in an effort to reach your intended goal successfully. Additionally, along
this path of success, a thinker may find themselves in a self correcting stage, as one
may attempt to allow their biases, partiality, or ill informed thoughts to take control.
However, a well refined critical thinker can ascertain this success by actively and
expertly enhancing their quality of thought. This attribute is achieved by
implementing specific concepts; such as theory development, exploration,
construction, and/or the investigation of material assembled. According to Paul and
Elder, Excellence in thought must be systematically cultivated . Therefore, a critical
thinker, must purposely put in the work to accomplish success. Richard Paul and
Linda Elder created a critical thinking framework that consists of three major
components: 1. The elements of thought; which is your basis for reasoning, 2. the
intellectual standards; which are applied to the elements of reasoning, and 3.
intellectual traits; which are produced from the application of discipline.
The Elements of Thought
According to Paul and Elder (1997), there are two essential dimensions of thinking
that students need to master in order to learn how to upgrade their thinking. They
need to be able to identify the parts of their thinking, and they need to be able to
assess their use of these parts of thinking. The elements of thought consist of 8 key
mechanisms; which helps the thinker to implement reasoning on different aspects on
each thought level. 1.Purpose: All reasoning has a purpose; therefore, it is the
thinker s responsibility to understand the purpose, goals and objectives of any given
concept to satisfy a specific wish and justify some need. 2.
Ineffective Criminal Courts
Ineffective Criminal Courts
The earlier criminal courts started to punish those who committed a crime or
differentiated from the norms of society (NACM, 2017). It was a system put in
place to keep order. In the 16th century , if the person was found guilty, it was most
likely going to result in a death sentence(NACM, 2017). Unlike in modern criminal
court, the accused was guilty until proven innocent. The earlier criminal courts
followed numerous laws that displayed discrimination until centuries later,
philosophers and policy maker, began to change the laws to try to assure all citizens
rights were protected.
Criminal courts are made to uphold the rights of citizens to have a fair trial when
convicted of crime. Criminal courts are the center of establishing order and creating
justice in society (NACM, 2017). It is the duty of the courtroom workgroup to assure
that the convicted that step in the court has their due process, which is individual s
rights as a citizen such as fair trial, jury trial, no discrimination, exclusionary means,
and other rights that are established in the amendments. Although the going rate ,
which is the normal way of handling crimes, is a consistent method of deciding
sentencing, there are many types of punishments that the guilty receives.
The initial purpose of punishments were to prevent others from committing crime
and to discourage felons from committing more crime. The most popular type of
punishment is incapacitation, which is
Summary Of Epictetus The Handbook
In The Handbook , Epictetus provides a way of life a stoic should follow to be a
good member of the society, which is a life detached from things one cannot
change and focused instead on things that can be improved. For instance, he asked
people to care none about the way others would judge them as he quoted If anyone
tells you that such a person speaks ill of you, don t make excuses about what is
said of you, but answer: He does not know my other faults, else he would not have
mentioned only these. Through this quote, Epictetus wanted all stoics to know all
their faults better than anyone else can say about them. Hence, the person would
not be disturbed by the way the society view him or her as well as would be able to
control and fix... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, he quoted Don t be prideful with any excellence that is not your own.
If a horse should be prideful and say, I am handsome, it would be supportable. But
when you are prideful, and say, I have a handsome horse, know that you are proud
of what is, in fact, only the good of the horse. In this sentence, Epictetus wanted to
teach the stoics to learn to proud of only something they can achieve not
something they own. In fact, this idea helped create a better citizen who would not
become too conceited simply because of something valuable he or she had. Also, a
person would then focus more on how to achieve his or her own success, one
which this person could take pride in. Furthermore, Epictetus wanted the stoics to
put a higher goal before they choose to quit simply because of afraid: Aiming
therefore at such great things, remember that you must not allow yourself to be
carried, even with a slight tendency, towards the attainment of lesser things. In this
quote, Epictetus addressed those who aimed at too small an objective as well as
those who wanted to earn both a great thing and the small one. In fact, he saw a
person who know which goal he or she should aim for would probably achieve a
higher accomplishment and thus became a better member of the

Mechanisms for mRNA Degradation
Messenger RNA (mRNA) is extremely important in expression of protein coding
genes. mRNA molecules contain the genetic code for synthesis of particular
polypeptides during translation. (Lewin s Genes XI, 624) Messenger RNAs are
unstable molecules due to the fact that cells have ribonucleases. These ribonucleases
can specifically target mRNA molecules in the cytoplasm. There are two types of
ribonucleases. Endoribonucleases cut the center of the RNAs, and exoribonuleases
detach the ends of RNAs. (Lewin s Genes XI, 625) The stability of mRNA is
essential in controlling gene expression. Less stable RNAs are more likely to undergo
changes in transcriptionrates, and the more stable RNAs are able to go through
translation for longer periods of time. (Lewin s Genes XI, 626)
There are several pathways in which mRNAs are degraded. However, the two most
common pathways are deadenylation dependent. This means that the degradation
process is originated by breaching their protective poly(A) tail. The new poly(A)
tail produced is covered in poly(A) binding proteins (PABP). Certain poly(A)

The Characteristics Of Stereotypes In Everyday Use By...
Everyday use is a short story written by Alice Walker. In the story, the narrator,
Mama, and her daughter Maggie are waiting for Dee to come home. When Dee
gets to the house, Mama had a huge meal laid out on the table for her daughter Dee
and the guy she brought home. While they were having dinner, Dee took a liking to
a churn top and a dasher. Dee later saw two quilts that she was very fond of. Mama
told Dee that the two quilts were for her other sister Maggie. An argument began and
Dee later left. The narratorin this story is Mama. Mama leads the readerto believe that
Dee is stuck up and a bad person, however this is untrue. Dee can be seen as a good
person if the reader understands that Dee attempts to help Mama and Maggie, that
there is an unreliable narrator, and that Mama s jealousy gets in the way of seeing
who Dee really is.
Many readers criticize Dee for overcoming the stereotypes placed on her based
upon where she came from. Even though Dee did not follow in her mother and
younger sister s footsteps, she encouraged them to overcome the odds and become
something great just as she did. Susan Farrell s said in Fight VS. Flight a Re
evaluation of Dee in Alice Walker s Everyday Use that Dee tries to extend her
education to them (182). This claim can be supported by using the scene in the
book where Mama describes Dee reading to her and Maggie. Mama said that Dee
used to read to us without pity (492). When Dee does this she is attempting to
teach Mama and Maggie how to read and about literature. She is trying to push
them to become educated. Mama, however did not appreciate this knowledge.
Mama proclaimed that Dee was filling them with a lot of knowledge we didn t
necessarily need (492). Mama was very unappreciative when Dee attempted to help.
Also, Dee pictured Mama as something greater than Mama saw herself. When
Mama described her fantasy about being on the television show, she describes
herself as the woman Dee wanted to her to be. Mama says that in the television show
she is the way her daughter would want her to be (492). Dee wished that her mom
would have reached her full potential.

The Sea Wolf by Jack London
1
The Themes of The Sea Wolf The Sea Wolf by Jack London can often be seen as a
controversial book. It mentions several highly disputed topics such as: morals,
religion, and death. Throughout his life the aim and strategy that he used for his
books often reflected his past life experiences. His once hard life enabled him to
gather extraordinary details into his books that authors were often not privileged to
use. The characters one encounters through the various novels, and especially The
Sea Wolf are also based off real people that London had met throughout his life.
These themes as displayed in the storyline express the hardships of life during the
1800s and on. They portray what people had to do to not only simply get by, but to
survive. Jack London s story of his life is an indeed interesting one; going from an
average boy with thoughts of various adventures to one of the most influential
writers in the United States. Jack London was born as Griffith Chaney on January
12, 1876, in San Francisco, CA. Jack was the son of a unmarried woman, Flora
Wellman and William Chaney who was an attorney, journalist and active in the field
of astrology. Throughout his childhood his father was never involved with his life.
Which contributes to the fact that many of his books revolve around surviving when
death seems certain, or one working hard for himself. When Jack was still a young
boy, his mother married John London, who was a Civil War veteran. He moved

movie. The narrative is categorized into three parts such as the Setup of the film, the
Conflicts and Obstacles the protagonist faces throughout, and the conclusion of the
film, also known as the Resolution. The setting begins with a flashback at a county
fair with a young Harry dressed as a magician and performing a saw trick involving a
girl. The flashback ends with the girl yelling that she wants to become an actress
before cutting into the opening. The setting then flashes forward to the 21st century,

Effect of Solute Concentration on Osmosis in Potato Cells...
INTRODUCTION
Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from high concentration to low
concentration through semipermeable membranes, caused by the difference in
concentrations on the two sides of a membrane (Rbowen, L.). It occurs in both
animals and plants cells. In human bodies, the process of osmosis is primarily found
in the kidneys, in the glomerulus. In plants, osmosis is carried out everywhere within
the cells of the plant (World Book, 1997). This can be shown by an experiment with
potato and glucose/salt solution. The experiment requires putting a piece (or more)
of potatoes into glucose or salt solution to see the result of osmosis (a hypertonic

violations can be punishable.
Process and Outcome of Counseling Psychology
1. Counselling process refers to the start and continuation of a counselling. It answers
the questions How and Why.
2. The two important questions asked are, Why is counselling happening? and How
is it being done?
3. The first question is important since it gives us a cause for action. Once the first
question is answered, the psychologist is in a position to determine, how exactly he
/she should move forward in the give scenario.
4. The second question, allows charting a proper course to carry out the counselling.
Always remember, no two people and hence no two minds are ever the same. Both
need to be seen and treated differently.
5. Counselling Outcome talks about understanding, whether or not counselling is
effective.
6. If the counselling proves to be effective, then there is the need to understand under
which conditions it proved to be effective and whether the effect was lasting or not.
7. If the counselling proves ineffective, then there is a need to
Essay on Dramaturgical Analysis
All the world s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. William
Shakespeare may have written these words in As You Like It in 1600, but Erving
Goffman truly defined the phrase with his dramaturgical theory. Dramaturgical
analysis is the study of social interaction in terms of theatrical performance. Unlike
actors though, who use a script telling them how to behave in every scene, real life
human interactions change depending upon the social situation they are in. We may
have an idea of how we want to be perceived, and may have the foundation to make
that happen. But we cannot be sure of every interaction we will have throughout the
day, having to ebb and flow with the conversations and situations as they happen.

It would appear that many rehearse their performance, allowing themselves to correct
any flaws in their performance before giving it. The theory of dramaturgy is
considered a micro theory, under the category of interpretive , which also includes
interactionism, ethomethodology, and phenomolohy. In The Presentation of
Everyday Life, Goffman lays out the seven elements that create a performance: belief
in the role that is being played, the front or mask , dramatic realization, idealization,
maintenance of expressive control, misrepresentation, and deception/mystification.
Using the simple description of someone interviewing for a job, we can see that As he
seeks to assume the role of an ideal employee (idealization), he tries (in his
performance) to convey a certain image about himself through his dress, his speech,
and his expressions (his front), emphasizing those things that he wants the
interviewers to know (dramatic realization). He has to maintain control over these
expressions throughout the interview (maintenance of expressive control). Any lapse
in his performance in that role (misrepresentation) may lead to him revealing those
things that he has been trying to conceal (mystification). (Corbin, 2012) In his book
Frame Analysis, Goffman continued his discussion on dramaturgical analysis. He
wrote, What is important is the sense he provides them through his dealing with them

Responsibility In An Inspector Calls By J. B. Priestley
In An Inspector calls, there are many themes discussed but the main theme is
responsibility. The author, J.B Priestley aim was to make an audience aware that
no one can live in a society without being responsible for other who lives in the
same society. We all live in one community and we are all responsible for each
other, our action does affect the people s life around us. Firstly, throughout the
text, there are many ways to presents the theme of responsibility and one of them is
the different views of society presented by Mr. Birling and the Inspector. The
Inspector tells Mr. Birling We are responsible for each other. And I tell you the
time will come soon when, if men will not learn that lesson, then they will be
taught it in fire and blood and anguish. (pg 56) He tells what could happen if some
members in the family ignore their responsibility. Birling tells his family that A man

Essay on Censorship in Schools
Censorship in Schools According to Freedom of Speech by Gerald Leinwand,
Abraham Lincoln once asked, Must a government, of necessity, be too strong for the
liberties of its people, or too weak to maintain its own existence (7)? This question is
particularly appropriate when considering what is perhaps the most sacred of all our
Constitutionally guaranteed rights, freedom of expression. Lincoln knew well the
potential dangers of expression, having steered the Union through the bitterly divisive
Civil War, but he held the Constitution dear enough to protect its promises whenever
possible (8). Issues of censorship in public schools are contests between the exercise
of discretion and the exercise of a Constitutional right. The law... Show more content

authority was justified in determining appropriate methods to evoke and recognize
the glorious and liberating national sentiment (28). The answer, of course, was yes;
that governments were most certainly justified, as long as restriction was
accomplished in the service of liberty. Frankfurter went on: Except where the
transgression of Constitutional liberty is too plain for argument, personal freedom is
best maintained so long as the remedial channels of the democratic process remain

JUDICIAL REVIEW AND THE INDIAN COURTS
Introduction
Judicial Review is basically an aspect of judicial power of the state which is
exercised by the courts to determine the validity of a rule of law or an action of any
agency of the state. The courts have the power of testing the validity of legislative as
well as other governmental action with reference to the provisions of the constitution.
The judiciary tries to undo the harm that is being done by the legislature and
executive and they also try to provide every citizen what has been guaranteed by the
constitution. Judicial review has a more technical significance in public law, ... Show

Judicial Review in India
The constitution of India, in this respect, is more similar to the U.S. Constitution
than the British. Under the constitution of India parliament is not supreme. Its
powers are limited in the two ways. First, there is the division of powers between
the union and the states. Parliament is allowed to pass laws only with respect to
those subjects which are guaranteed to the citizens against every form of legislative
encroachment. The power of judicial review of legislation is given to the judiciary
both by the political theory and text of the constitution. There are several specific
provisions in the Indian constitution, judicial review of legislation such as Act 13,
32, 131 136, 143, 226, 145, 246, 251, 254 and 372.
Judicial review is a great weapon given to the judges. It includes the power of a
court to hold illegal and unenforceable any law or order based upon such law or
some other activity by an open power which is conflicting or in clash with the
fundamental law that must be adhered to. Truth be told, the investigation of
constitutional law may be depicted as an investigation of the precept of judicial
review in action. The courts have force to strike down any law, on the off chance that
they trust it to be unconstitutional. In the case I.R. Coelho v. State of Tamil Nadu the
court laid down a
Compression Technology Essay
Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 What Is Compression Technology ? Compression is representation of data in a
compact form. Compression of data, bit rate reduction or source coding involves
encoding of data using fewer number of bits. Compression are of two types lossy
and lossless. Lossless compression removes such data bits whose removal does not
affects the information of the data on the other hand no information losses takes
place in lossless compression. Lossy compression reduces bits by finding
unnecessary information and then removing them . The process of reduction of file
data size is referred as data compression. 1.1.1 Why Do We Still Need Compression ?
Compression Technology is used to efficiently use the storage space which saves

Similarities Between India And Greece
Greece and India were more different, because Greece believed in Humanism and
India believed in spiritualism. Greece believed in what was right in front of them,
things they could see rather than believe in. India believed in something higher,
something or someone who created everything that had happened. Because their
differences in beliefs, India and Greecehad a different way they governed their
countries, their beliefs and religions, along with the fluidity of their social structures.
Ancient Greece and India had different views on their religions and beliefs. Greece,
unlike India, did not have a specific religion or belief, like the Indians did. Greeks
and Indians both believed in Gods to some extant, however, Greek pictured their gods
as humans, and Indians pictured them as something higher than humans. Greece was
not as reliant on religion as India, as they were mostly based on philosophy. Greece
did believe in Gods, but thought of them as humans rather than anything they couldn
t see. India, unlike Greece, had very specific beliefs and had three main religions.

Greeks government was run through the citizens, it was voted on who would rule; it

History of Calculus Essay
History of Calculus
The history of calculus falls into several distinct time periods, most notably the
ancient, medieval, and modern periods. The ancient period introduced some of the
ideas of integral calculus, but does not seem to have developed these ideas in a
rigorous or systematic way. Calculating volumes and areas, the basic function of
integral calculus, can be traced back to the Egyptian Moscow papyrus (c. 1800 BC),
in which an Egyptian successfully calculated the volume of a pyramidal
frustum.[1][2] From the school of Greek mathematics, Eudoxus (c. 408 #8722;355
BC) used the method of exhaustion, which prefigures the concept of the limit, to
calculate areas and volumes while Archimedes (c. 287 #8722;212 BC) developed this

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz was originally accused of plagiarism of Sir Isaac Newton
s unpublished works, but is now regarded as an independent inventor and contributor
towards calculus.
Leibniz and Newton pulled these ideas together into a coherent whole and they are
usually credited with the independent and nearly simultaneous invention of calculus.
Newton was the first to apply calculus to general physics and Leibniz developed
much of the notation used in calculus today; he often spent days determining
appropriate symbols for concepts. The basic insight that both Newton and Leibniz
had was the fundamental theorem of calculus.
When Newton and Leibniz first published their results, there was great
Mouse Model And Sample Size
Mouse model and Sample Size
This study will be using 8 week old Smn1tm1Hung Tg(SMN2)2Hung mice
obtained from the Jackson Laboratory. This specific strain of mice will be selected
as they are double mutants; they will have undergone an exon 7 deletion in their
SMN1 gene resulting in the development of SMA, and they will have a human
SMN2 transgene, since mice do not normally have SMN2 genes. The mice will be
homozygous for the SMN1 with the knockout, this is important because over 95%
of SMA cases are due to the homozygous deletion of SMN1 genes. They will also
be homozygous for the SMN2 transgene as SMN2 hemizygous mice do not survive
past 16 days postnatal [The Jackson Laboratory, 2017].

The power required for this experiment will be 80% to minimise the number of

significance of 0.05, a sample size of 52 is calculated, with 26 mice embryos in the
control group and 26 in the treated group [AICBT Ltd, 2017]. Designing sgRNAs
Single guided RNAs (sgRNAs) are required to guide the Cas9 endonucleases
[Long, et al., 2014]. We need to design suitable sgRNAs to use in our experiment
and test the feasibility of CRISPR Cas9 mediated genetic repair at the cellular level
before we can inject the system into mice zygotes. Around five different sgRNAs can
be designed, targeting different regions of the mutant SMN1 gene three targeting
regions of the base pair deletion, one targeting the region immediately downstream
of the base pair deletion and one targeting the normal sequence upstream of the
deletion [Wu, et al., 2013]. The specificity of each of these sgRNAs can be tested
through transfecting plasmids with the Cas9 and each of the different sgRNAs and
place into wild type embryonic stem cells. PCR can be carried out for each sgRNA
and their products, that we can assume to be the target region, can be amplified from
the subsequent embryonic stem
Biography Of Baruch Spinoza s Theory Of Human
Emotions,...
At the age of 20, Baruch Spinoza was banned from the Synagog, and from
Amsterdam for his radical believes. His masterpiece, The Ethics, can basically be
considered as his guide for humans to achieve absolute tranquility. His purpose is
psychotherapy. It is his directory to living the right way and being happy and
content. He believes that in order to do so, one must truly understand the nature of
two major phenomenas. He, by breaking his book into five different parts, explains
the true and absolute nature of Godor Nature, and the human nature. And thus, by
truly studying the metaphysicsof things, one can use his therapy of the soul, which
plays off of his theory of human emotions, in order to be able to operate on the
contents of his/her mind, and the emotions one produces. In such a way, humans can
finally find virtue and salvation.
The first step of the path to salvation, according to Spinoza, consists of humans
changing the way they understand God. To the author, God means something
completely different than what humans naturally believe. To Spinoza, God is Nature.
God is everything. God is the one and only substance, and everything else is merely
an attribute or a modification of that substance. As Spinoza says: God, or substance,
consisting of infinite attributes, of which each expresses eternal and infinite
essentiality, necessarily exists . God is the ultimate reality outside of which nothing
can be or be conceived. As reported by Baruch: God s existence,

FACTS based reactive power compensation of wind energy conversion system
abstract
Voltage control and reactive power compensation in a distribution network with
embedded wind energy conversion system (WECS) represent main concern of this
paper. The WECS is of a fixed speed/constant frequency type that is equipped with
an induction generator driven by an unregulated wind turbine. The problem is
viewed from short term (10 seconds) and mid term (10 minutes) time domain
responses of the system to different wind speed changes. Being disturbed by a
variable wind speed, the WECS injects variable active and reactive power into the
distribution network exposing nearby consumers to excessive voltage changes. In the

Wind power plant induction generator is viewed as a consumer of reactive power.
Its reactive power consumption depends on active power production.
Conventionally, shunt capacitor banks are connected at the generator terminals to
compensate its reactive power consumption. In some schemes, shunt capacitor
banks could be automatically switched on/off by using feedback signal from
generator reactive power. The capacitor switching is triggered through an algorithm
if a generator reactive power is outside an allowed dead band for a specified time
period. Further on, continuous voltage control and reactive power compensation at
the point of the WECS network connection is provided by using FACTS based
device. Among FACTS devices, the Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is
chosen due to its versatile regulating capabilities. The UPFC consists of shunt and
series branches, which could be interchangeably used. Being located at the point of
the WECS connection to the distribution network, it is made possible to
simultaneously control the WECS bus voltage magnitude and/or series reactive
power flow that WECS exchanges with the network. This countermeasure is expected
to contribute in making assessed wind site viable for connecting larger number of
wind turbines.

What is Bail?
When officials talk about bail, they are referring to the money the defendent or
loved one pays to get the arrested person released from jail. A defendent who is
released from jail has to return for all court appearances. The bail is used as an
incentive to ensure the person returns for those court dates in the future.

Fascism In Russia
After World War One, many people yearned to return to normalcy; however, those
desires were rendered by the carnage and destruction caused by the war. In the
twentieth century, fascism was a response to many complicated social challenges
and to the spread of Western liberal democracy. For the growing fascist movements,
the period after the First World War was seen as a time to bring change to the nature
of society, state, and international policies and laws. The rise of fascismin Europe
started in the early 1900 s due to cultural pessimism, the tragic consequences caused
by the war, and the incapability of liberal democratic regimes to cope with the war s
consequences. After the Second World War, people can argue that fascism has long

The current global economic and political climate has promoted the question of
whether fascism is on the rise again. Vladimir Putin is one of the few current world
leaders who has shown fascist tendencies. Putin s Russia has many elements that are
reminiscent of the early 1900 s fascism. There are many similarities between Putin
s Russia and the fundamental principles of classical fascism. Putin asserts Russian
power by putting pressure on weak neighboring states, and slams the West s
criticism of his policies and actions. By annexing Crimea and supporting pro
Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine in 2014, Russia was able to justify its
military patriotic mobilization of society and the transformation of Russia into a
besieged fortress (Motyl, 2016, pg. 29). The annexation of Crimea made Russian
citizens feel a wave of vicarious optimism. Putin s bully attitude and aggression are
supposed to manifest Russian ethnic and cultural revitalization after decades of
decline. Similar to Mussolini, Putin is building his regime on the promises of
greatness, the display of military force, and the campaign to make Russia great
again. Putin s actions and policies provide the Russian citizens with a sense of
national pride, which has been lacking since the post Soviet era. He continues to
pursue strategies and policies that restore Russian pride while consolidating power
and influence in Russia. Putin lacks of interest in engaging with Western politics has
also contributed to the rise of his popularity at
Essay on The Character of Hamlet in William Shakespeare

The Character of Hamlet in William Shakespeare s Play
Some critics have stated that the appeal of Hamlet to the audience is his many human
weaknesses, the most notable being his indecision. His deliberations and
procrastinations are particularly high lighted when he is faced with the task of
revenge. The law and Christianity, around the early seventeenth century, were clear in
condemning personal revenge as an attempt by man to arrogate the prerogatives of
God. Hamlet s contradicting feelings toward avenging his father and avoiding
breaking the law and going against Christianity were most likely felt by the
Elizabethan audience also, which would have been made up of many Christians,
namely, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That would be scann d: A villain kills my father, and for that I, his sole son, do this
same villain send to heaven.[3]
In this scene, Hamlet discovers Claudius praying; shows a will to perform his task
of revenge, and yet he is unable to go through with it. Hamlet enters to find
Claudius with his back to Hamlet. Tension is created within the audience, as the
scene is portrayed as if the king is preparing for his execution, on his knees, praying,
although he is unaware Hamlet is behind him with his sword drawn. It is the perfect
opportunity, yet Hamlet deliberates. The scene results in an anti climax, with
Shakespeare creating drama with his will he, won t he tactic with regards to Hamlet.
I believe this is a prominent example of Hamlet s inability to take action. Hamlet
never receives any indication from Claudius that he regrets the death of Hamlet s
father, and by killing him, would send him to heaven. I think it most likely that
Hamlet creates his own doubts, or excuses, as to delay with the revenge of his
father. It could also be possible that Hamlet is fearful of the consequences of his act
of vengeance. In Antonio s revenge and The revenger s tragedy , the criminal is also
the ruler. As was with these, the protagonist may be merely afraid of the
consequences of treason.

Compare And Contrast Drive And The Avengers
To What Degree The films Drive and The Avengers are two strikingly different
films that display violence in two different lights. In The Avengers violence is
portrayed in a fun, entertaining way that doesn t cause anxiety or apprehension
while Drive, on the other hand, portrays violence with intense emotion and realistic
violence. These differences are evident throughout both of the films before, during,
and after violent actions that take place in the story. One of the significant
differences in both of these films is how violence is initiated. In The Avengers
violence is often treated as the right thing to do, occurs with lots of foreshadowing,
and the characters enter this violence jovially. During the middle of the final battle
while New York is being demolished, the Avengers have time to stand in a circle
posing. As the heroes all leave their huddle , the Hulk gives the audience a big grin
then proceeds to smash multiple Chitauri (Loki s soldiers) into walls, throw them
from buildings, and knock them off of their flying vehicles. In no instance does the

In autumn of 1916, Canadians moved to the front of the lines across from Vimy

Germany originally owned the Vimy Ridge, however the French had got some of the

Symbolism And Symbolism Of Russian Literature
Do we need symbolism? As a matter of fact, yes, we do and it s everywhere in our
society. Symbolism is often used of an object or an image or a word to represent or
to show the deeper and significant meaning of it. Throughout this Modern Russian
Literature course, I had noticed that many Russian poets who experienced a
complicated lifetimes had used this term to give hint and imagination to the reader
instead of just spoke it out. For instance, talking about the country of Russia, the flag
of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics have its own meaning as well, a gold

Teenage Brains
The brain has the function of making their body work and help with the teens brain
daily life. The gray matter is where nerves are located. They are affect the way the
person acts. The gray matter is where the nerves are located . One nerve is made up
of neurons a nerve cell The neuron is made up of dendrites, axons and nucleus . The
dendrites receive signals from axonterminals and this is a synapses. As a teen grows
the brainstarts pruning its synapses. With this the brain is taking out instructions the
brain can already do or already knows. This is making room for new ideas. The brain
secretes many hormones and neurotransmitters. A well known and used
neurotransmitter is dopamine. Dopamine gives the brain a faster production time to

Going back to the gray matter, the outer layer of gray matter is the frontal cortex.
This is where we make decisions and where we do much of our conscious and
complicated thinking. Phineas Gage, a renowned neuroscience patient in the 1800,
was hit with a iron rod to the head, yet minutes after he was still able to move and
act normal (Fleischman 6). The only thing was that he could not make decisions.
When given a $1000 for the pebbles he collected, he angrily refused the deal( 19).
He was not able to make the decision of getting the money or not. Neuroscientists
have learned so much of the brain that has helped us understand our own brains and
the people around us. From this scientist learned that the sections of the brain had
parts and functions such as language and comprehension(65). Lastly they learned
about germs and that you need to make sure to disinfect your tools(17). Without this
our technology that is here would not be as progressed if we did not know this. All
of these components helped us understand the teen brain just a little bit
The Three Laws of Motion
The Three Laws of Motion The three laws of motion were founded by an English
mathematician names Sir Isaac Newton. He explained the three laws of motions
by using his scientific inquiry. All the laws of motions are physics, which is
physical science. Without these laws of motion, we would not know how to
explain why things move or not. Also e wouldn t know how to be safe. Each law of
motion is very different from the others and is very specific in terms of explanation.
For example, one of the laws of motion has a formula that is: acceleration=net force
divided by mass. This formula can also be written as: force=mass x acceleration.
Physics is an important topic of science. Without physics, we wouldn t understand
how objects will move or when it will stop. Safety relies on physics also. Because of
physics, seatbelts were invented for the safety of using cars. Physics also explains
why the moon orbits around the earth and the earth orbits around the sun. The
English mathematician man named Sir Isaac Newton restated Galileo s ideas about
motion in the first of his three laws of motion. Sir Isaac Newton made the three laws
of motion, which made a huge impact on the world.
Newton s 1st law of motion states that an object will remain at rest or move at a
constant velocity unless an outside unbalanced force acts upon it. An unbalanced
force will cause an object to speed up, slow down, or change direction. For example,
if an object is not moving, it will continue

Research Essay. 010 Research Essay Examples Example Writing Introduction For Psychology ...

  • 1. Research Essay Writing a research essay can be a challenging task that demands a combination of skills, time, and dedication. The process involves not only the ability to gather and analyze information but also to present a coherent and well-structured argument. It requires a deep understanding of the chosen topic, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. The difficulty begins with the initial stages of research, where one must sift through a vast sea of information to find relevant and reliable sources. The synthesis of these sources requires careful analysis and interpretation, ensuring that the information contributes meaningfully to the overall argument. Crafting a thesis statement that encapsulates the essence of the essay further adds to the challenge, as it sets the tone for the entire piece. The organization of ideas within the essay is crucial. Each paragraph needs to flow logically from the previous one, and the essay as a whole should have a clear and cohesive structure. Balancing the depth of analysis with conciseness is also a hurdle, as the writer must delve into the details without losing sight of the broader picture. The actual writing process demands a mastery of language, grammar, and style. Clarity and precision are essential, as the writer must convey complex ideas in a way that is accessible to the reader. Additionally, maintaining a scholarly tone while injecting one's voice into the essay requires a delicate balance. Revision is a key component of the writing process. Revisiting and refining the essay multiple times is necessary to ensure coherence, clarity, and a polished final product. This can be a time- consuming task but is crucial for producing a high-quality research essay. In conclusion, crafting a research essay is a demanding endeavor that encompasses various skills, from research and analysis to writing and revision. It is an intellectual journey that challenges the writer to think critically, communicate effectively, and present a well-substantiated argument. Despite its difficulty, successfully completing a research essay can be a rewarding experience, contributing not only to academic growth but also to the development of essential skills. • 2. The Ideas Of Tropes In The Faerie Queene And Eurydice There is the parent who attempts to give advice and shield their children Li l Bit s mother, and the relative the main character can confide in Uncle Peck. This supports the idea that although tropes and clichГ©s are discouraged, they can be an integral part of a text. Most writing isn t truly original since writers draw their inspirations from elsewhere and are influenced by things that came before. If these tropes and clichГ©s did not persist throughout time, then writers would not continue to be influenced by them and create the pieces that they have. Ruhl and Vogel were both influenced by Greek mythologyand Greek choruses, which allowed them to produce unique and modern texts that contained those classical elements. Even Edmund Spenser, who authored the epic poem The Faerie Queene drew from Greek mythology, Greek names, places, and people to create a piece of literature that is relatable and understandable, even though it is over 400 years old. Humans, as a whole, have not changed too much since the beginning of time, so the interwoven character tropes are recognizable then and now. These literary devices transcend time and continue to be used in the present. One could find cruel villains in both The Faerie Queene and Eurydice. Whether it s the wicked magician Archimago, in the case of The Faerie Queene, or A Nasty Interesting Man Hadesin the case of Eurydice. Hades is always represented as the bad boy, the villain, and this is true in Eurydice. It is with him that she
  • 3. Comparison of Donne and Jennings Poetry Consider the ways in which Donne and Jennings use form, structure and language to present their thoughts and ideas. You should make relevant references to your wider reading in the poetry of love. The poem the The Anniversary By John Donne, is a metaphysical poem about the sun itself growing older each year, this process reminds Donne that him and his lover are closer to their end. The second poem is called One Flesh , and is written by Elizabeth Jennings. In the course of this poem Jennings explores the relationship and separateness of her now elderly parents. There are multiple contrasting factors between these two poems, considering they are both written from different time periods and view love in sharply differing perspective.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, some may interpret their love as lasting forever because they are everything , possibly even death itself. On the other hand, in the Jennings poem One Flesh the loss of love can occur without the physical death of two beings. As both these elderly couples continue to live but have already dead love. The quote; lying apart now is particularly ambiguous, it may show how the lovers lay apart from one another in life or either how they are already dead and lay apart in separate coffins. Either way it can be seen to show a lack of love, by the notion of them both being apart . The cycle of fire is metaphorical to the death of love, as Jennings notes fire she came from has now grown cold . This may imply how no fire, which represents passion cannot last, and will soon have a death and turn cold . Nonetheless, there is a slight connection to Donne s poem and the idea of love being continued in the afterlife. Jennings sees the partners distance as being strangely apart yet straggly close together . The repetition of strangely highlights how this is an abnormal circumstance, as Jennings could be communicating how that despite their difference the bond of love is strong and will hold them together, maybe even in death. Moreover, a desire to escape love and be free from it can be communicated by how the woman partner is dreaming of childhood . Childhood can signify a young girl s dream of growing up and having a fairy tale romance,

If your answer is no, let s just say if I believe it is true and provide you with false data and statistics and keep repeating it until it becomes true to you. However, in today society propaganda is used in our media to control the citizen, however, it does not only affect us, but other citizen in other countries as well. What are the negative effects of propaganda and how to prevent it? The problems are false information spreading that can cause people to be uncertain about what going on. If everybody always lies to you, the consequence is not that you believe the lies, but rather that nobody believes anything any longer and a people that no longer can believe anything cannot make up its mind. I told my dad to talk to my teachers about my hijab; and I told my dad to tell the teacher to tell the students to not pick on me, or bully me because of the hijab. I remember the first day I want to school with my hijab; I was very afraid and anxious to go to school. I thought that my friends were not going to be my friend because of my hijab. But, I was very shocked when I went to school because my teachers were so supportive; and that I found out that my teacher talked to the students about my hijab before I went to school. I was grateful about the kindness of the teacher. The students in my class treated me the same way they always treat me, and my friends were very supportive. Also, my dad showed up to my classroom with a cake. The classroom singed happy birthday to me, and took pictures with

Despite the countless happenings that have influenced my being, only three have notably impacted my life. These include the dichotomy between my life here in the United States and the lives of my cousins in Mexico, the divorce of my parents and how I experienced that as a third grader, and the introduction of four people into my life. These occurrences by no means have all been positive, but they have helped influence my outlook on my life, my family, my friends, and my faith. In his earlier years of life, my father moved to Mexicali then to the city that Mexicali bordered: Calexico. He later married my mother and brought her to the United States. My father and his parents were the only ones to live in the United States. My mother had a different situation, she married my father and moved to this country leaving all her family (sisters, cousins, parents) back in Mexico. It is said to be an approach to family therapy that is built on the belief that reality is constructed, organized and maintained through the stories we create. (Corsini Wedding, 2008) According to Corey s key terms and definitions narrative therapy is a postmodern approach that is based on the therapist s personal characteristics that allow for creating a climate that encourages clients to see their stories from different perspectives. Grounded in a philosophical framework, narrative practices assist clients in finding new meanings and new possibilities in their lives. (Corey, Theory and Practice of Counselling ad Psychotherapy, 2014) The viewpoint of narrative therapy is that people are stuck in their problems because of the stories they have created. It is made up of the idea that people have many interacting narratives that go into making up their sense of who they are. Narrative therapy is a method of therapy which encourages persons to externalize their presenting problem or issue and become separate from it making it easier for them to deal with it. Personal experiences are changed into personal stories that are given meaning by the person telling the story. It shapes and forms the person s identity. Being able to tell a story is a way of helping the client to describe the presenting problem. (REF) According to Alice Morgan, Narrative therapy is a respectful and

  • 13. Postpartum Depression Ultimately, Charlotte Perkins Gilman incorporates her own personal experiences with postpartum depression into a narrative which shows broad implications of women, how society portrays and treats them in many ways and how those women respond to those treatments. The injustice in society between gender is shown through the relationship between the narrator and John, her husband. In the story, John never once called her by her name, sometimes a blessed little goose or some other animal name, like an adult looking down at a minority. This is a discrimination towards women and clearly represents how unfairly women were treated during those times. They were looked down upon, treated as below human, equalling animals. She goes mad because her role in society is limited and her ability to express herself is constricted. The wallpaper symbolises her imprisonment and the domestic life that traps so many women in the late nineteenth century. Yellow usually symbolises happiness, but ironically, in this narrative the narrator is being trapped and driven mad by the color. She only sees a repellent, almost revolting color; a smoldering yellow, strangely faded by the slow turning sunlight. Eventually, she sees patterns which come into focus as a desperate woman, constantly crawling and stooping, looking for an escape from the main pattern which resemble the bars of a cage. The narrator sees herself behind the wallpaper, realising for the first time what her status is. Like all other women during the late nineteenth century, she wishes to break free from this sort of environment where women are considered to be nothing more than housewives. At that time in society, women were expected to live their life bound at home, taking care of cooking, houseworks and raising children. Free time for women was meant for them to be sewing and doing the laundry instead of socializing in society. Many women began to protest, some became vocal participants of women s rights movement. The narrator has to hide the only thing she finds comfort in from everyone,

Inner Conflict In Hamlet Through the multitude of analyses of Hamlet that have occurred since Shakespeare debuted the play in 1783, multiple stances can be made from the plot and dialogue within. For instance, in Act Three Scene Three a religious reading can be made. The scene depicts two major inner conflicts that occur in both Claudius and Hamlet through the use of dueling soliloquies. To start, Claudius is battling with his inner guilt and attempting to ask for forgiveness for his sins, but he refuses to give up the prizes he obtained by sinning. This conflict is seen when Claudius says, ...since I am still possessed/ of those effects for which I did the murder: My crown, mine own ambition, and my queen. May one be pardoned and retain th offense (Act e. Scene 3. Lines 57 60). He was given the crown and Gertrude by killing King Hamlet, which causes him to battle with staying on the strict moral code that his religion set for him, since he has found being king to be wonderful. He enjoys having power, and he does not want to lose that power no matter what the Bible has laid out for him and how he s supposed to act. However, despite his clear yearn for power, he is seen asking for forgiveness. This can most easily be noted in line 40 when he says, O, my offense is rank, it smells to Heaven and line 56 of the scene when Claudius says, Forgive me my foul murder , since it proves that Claudius is aware that he sinned and must now ask for forgiveness. The act of asking for forgiveness despite not
  • 17. The Elements Of Critical Thinking As A Critical Thinker Critical thinking is that mode of thinking about any subject, content, or problem in which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully taking charge of the structures inherent in thinking and imposing intellectual standards upon them. (Paul and Elder, 2014). Like going to the gym, deciding to go back to school to improve your way of life, or saving for a long awaited vacation, critical thinking similarly requires a self controlled, well organized, and strategic order of procedures in an effort to reach your intended goal successfully. Additionally, along this path of success, a thinker may find themselves in a self correcting stage, as one may attempt to allow their biases, partiality, or ill informed thoughts to take control. However, a well refined critical thinker can ascertain this success by actively and expertly enhancing their quality of thought. This attribute is achieved by implementing specific concepts; such as theory development, exploration, construction, and/or the investigation of material assembled. According to Paul and Elder, Excellence in thought must be systematically cultivated . Therefore, a critical thinker, must purposely put in the work to accomplish success. Richard Paul and Linda Elder created a critical thinking framework that consists of three major components: 1. The elements of thought; which is your basis for reasoning, 2. the intellectual standards; which are applied to the elements of reasoning, and 3. intellectual traits; which are produced from the application of discipline. The Elements of Thought According to Paul and Elder (1997), there are two essential dimensions of thinking that students need to master in order to learn how to upgrade their thinking. They need to be able to identify the parts of their thinking, and they need to be able to assess their use of these parts of thinking. The elements of thought consist of 8 key mechanisms; which helps the thinker to implement reasoning on different aspects on each thought level. 1.Purpose: All reasoning has a purpose; therefore, it is the thinker s responsibility to understand the purpose, goals and objectives of any given concept to satisfy a specific wish and justify some need. 2.

  • 22. Mechanisms for mRNA Degradation Messenger RNA (mRNA) is extremely important in expression of protein coding genes. mRNA molecules contain the genetic code for synthesis of particular polypeptides during translation. (Lewin s Genes XI, 624) Messenger RNAs are unstable molecules due to the fact that cells have ribonucleases. These ribonucleases can specifically target mRNA molecules in the cytoplasm. There are two types of ribonucleases. Endoribonucleases cut the center of the RNAs, and exoribonuleases detach the ends of RNAs. (Lewin s Genes XI, 625) The stability of mRNA is essential in controlling gene expression. Less stable RNAs are more likely to undergo changes in transcriptionrates, and the more stable RNAs are able to go through translation for longer periods of time. (Lewin s Genes XI, 626) There are several pathways in which mRNAs are degraded. However, the two most common pathways are deadenylation dependent. This means that the degradation process is originated by breaching their protective poly(A) tail. The new poly(A) tail produced is covered in poly(A) binding proteins (PABP). Certain poly(A) nucleases catalyze the steady shortening of the poly(A) tail as it enters the cytoplasm. The PAN2/3 complex originally shortens the poly(A) tail. Then, CCR4 NOT complex degrades the rest of the poly(A) tail more quickly, only leaving 10 to 12 bases remaining. (Lewin s Genes XI, 629 30) The first of the two common pathways is the 5 to 3 pathway. First, decapping enzymes comprising of

There are rules and guidelines in counseling psychology that need to be adhered to and violations can be punishable. Process and Outcome of Counseling Psychology 1. Counselling process refers to the start and continuation of a counselling. It answers the questions How and Why. 2. The two important questions asked are, Why is counselling happening? and How is it being done? 3. The first question is important since it gives us a cause for action. Once the first question is answered, the psychologist is in a position to determine, how exactly he /she should move forward in the give scenario. 4. The second question, allows charting a proper course to carry out the counselling. Always remember, no two people and hence no two minds are ever the same. Both need to be seen and treated differently. 5. Counselling Outcome talks about understanding, whether or not counselling is effective. 6. If the counselling proves to be effective, then there is the need to understand under which conditions it proved to be effective and whether the effect was lasting or not. 7. If the counselling proves ineffective, then there is a need to
  • 34. Essay on Dramaturgical Analysis All the world s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. William Shakespeare may have written these words in As You Like It in 1600, but Erving Goffman truly defined the phrase with his dramaturgical theory. Dramaturgical analysis is the study of social interaction in terms of theatrical performance. Unlike actors though, who use a script telling them how to behave in every scene, real life human interactions change depending upon the social situation they are in. We may have an idea of how we want to be perceived, and may have the foundation to make that happen. But we cannot be sure of every interaction we will have throughout the day, having to ebb and flow with the conversations and situations as they happen. Adopted... The theory of dramaturgy is considered a micro theory, under the category of interpretive , which also includes interactionism, ethomethodology, and phenomolohy. In The Presentation of Everyday Life, Goffman lays out the seven elements that create a performance: belief in the role that is being played, the front or mask , dramatic realization, idealization, maintenance of expressive control, misrepresentation, and deception/mystification. Using the simple description of someone interviewing for a job, we can see that As he seeks to assume the role of an ideal employee (idealization), he tries (in his performance) to convey a certain image about himself through his dress, his speech, and his expressions (his front), emphasizing those things that he wants the interviewers to know (dramatic realization). He has to maintain control over these expressions throughout the interview (maintenance of expressive control). Any lapse in his performance in that role (misrepresentation) may lead to him revealing those things that he has been trying to conceal (mystification). (Corbin, 2012) In his book Frame Analysis, Goffman continued his discussion on dramaturgical analysis. He wrote, What is important is the sense he provides them through his dealing with them of what sort

This question is particularly appropriate when considering what is perhaps the most sacred of all our Constitutionally guaranteed rights, freedom of expression. Lincoln knew well the potential dangers of expression, having steered the Union through the bitterly divisive Civil War, but he held the Constitution dear enough to protect its promises whenever possible (8). The answer, of course, was yes; that governments were most certainly justified, as long as restriction was accomplished in the service of liberty. Parliament is allowed to pass laws only with respect to those subjects which are guaranteed to the citizens against every form of legislative encroachment. The power of judicial review of legislation is given to the judiciary both by the political theory and text of the constitution. The ancient period introduced some of the ideas of integral calculus, but does not seem to have developed these ideas in a rigorous or systematic way. Calculating volumes and areas, the basic function of integral calculus, can be traced back to the Egyptian Moscow papyrus (c. 1800 BC), in which an Egyptian successfully calculated the volume of a pyramidal frustum.[1][2] From the school of Greek mathematics, Eudoxus (c. 408 #8722;355 BC) used the method of exhaustion, which prefigures the concept of the limit, to calculate areas and volumes while Archimedes (c. 287 #8722;212 BC) developed this idea ... His masterpiece, The Ethics, can basically be considered as his guide for humans to achieve absolute tranquility. His purpose is psychotherapy. It is his directory to living the right way and being happy and content. He believes that in order to do so, one must truly understand the nature of two major phenomenas. He, by breaking his book into five different parts, explains the true and absolute nature of Godor Nature, and the human nature. God is the one and only substance, and everything else is merely an attribute or a modification of that substance. Going back to the gray matter, the outer layer of gray matter is the frontal cortex. This is where we make decisions and where we do much of our conscious and complicated thinking. Phineas Gage, a renowned neuroscience patient in the 1800, was hit with a iron rod to the head, yet minutes after he was still able to move and act normal (Fleischman 6). The only thing was that he could not make decisions. When given a $1000 for the pebbles he collected, he angrily refused the deal( 19). He was not able to make the decision of getting the money or not. Neuroscientists have learned so much of the brain that has helped us understand our own brains and the people around us. From this scientist learned that the sections of the brain had parts and functions such as language and comprehension(65). Lastly they learned about germs and that you need to make sure to disinfect your tools(17). Without this our technology that is here would not be as progressed if we did not know this. He explained the three laws of motions by using his scientific inquiry. All the laws of motions are physics, which is physical science. Without these laws of motion, we would not know how to explain why things move or not. Also e wouldn t know how to be safe. Each law of motion is very different from the others and is very specific in terms of explanation. For example, one of the laws of motion has a formula that is: acceleration=net force divided by mass. This formula can also be written as: force=mass x acceleration. Physics is an important topic of science. Without physics, we wouldn t understand how objects will move or when it will stop. Safety relies on physics also. Because of physics, seatbelts were invented for the safety of using cars. Physics also explains why the moon orbits around the earth and the earth orbits around the sun. The English mathematician man named Sir Isaac Newton restated Galileo s ideas about motion in the first of his three laws of motion. Sir Isaac Newton made the three laws of motion, which made a huge impact on the world. Newton s 1st law of motion states that an object will remain at rest or move at a constant velocity unless an outside unbalanced force acts upon it. An unbalanced force will cause an object to speed up, slow down, or change direction. For example, if an object is not moving, it will continue
