Love In Pyramus And Thisbe
The tragic story of Pyramus and Thisbe, two lovers that loved each other beyond
measure and it was that love that separated the both of them. Through this critical
response paper I will proceed to analyze and respond to the mythological story of
Pyramus Thisbe and show how their love tragedy came to be interpreted through
different symbols.
Pyramus and Thisbe were madly in love with each other however neither of their
parents allowed them together. They had no one to confide all this to: nods and signs
were their speech, and the more they kept the fire hidden, the more it burned. (Ovid,
Bk IV:55 92) Through reading that, the reader can deduce how their passion and
infatuation would ultimately lead to their demise as a consequence of their ... Show

The author was especially successful in making Pyramus and Thisbe become a
main form of tragedy for the world of literature. You can see how the tragedy
inspired many famous works of literature such as Romeo and Juliette by Shakespeare
and as well as the legend of Layla and Majnun.
Finally, the tragic act of both lovers killing themselves, was it simply naivety or
was it truly the highest form of true love? Pyramus knew that asking for death, or
committing the act of suicide was cowardly however what he sought was not just
death but punishment for he believed that he was the reason Thisbe lost her life.
When Thisbe found the dying body of Pyramus she knew what had happened, and
she in turn believed it was her fault that he had died. When Pyramus killed himself,
he stabbed his side. However Thisbe decided that her heart was the suitable sheath
for the sword. The symbolic meaning behind that is hearts are usually associated
with love, and for Thisbe to die from a stab in the heart makes it almost as if death
stole her heart and her love to take back to
The Media Of A Third Estate

considered to occupy the position of a fourth estate Introduction The new media
distinctively associated with the nineteenth and twentieth century the press, radio and
television, the cinema and the record industry have traditionally been grouped
together under the heading mass mediaand their study developed as a part of the
sociology of mass communications (Jim, and William, 2007). At one level, this
inherited vocabulary fulfils a useful descriptive function; people know what is being
referred to when such terms as the mediaof mass communication are used. At another
level, however, such terms may prove positively misleading. It is dear, for example,
that the news mediawhich are customarily referred to in this way resemble one
another only superficially. The relationships between the state and broadcasting
institutions, for example, are quite different from those which obtain between the
state and the press or, different yet again, between the state and the cinema. Similarly,
the relationship between industry and audience is quite differently articulated in the
case of the record industry as compared with the film industry (Myria, 2014).

Guilt In The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe
Regrets of the Heart
Individuals experience life and the world in different ways, these experiences shapes
our thinking, opinions and personalities differently. Its human nature to feel guilty
for something wrong you have done and having a sense of regret. Some people
might feel guilt for little thing while others may feel it for something big ,that fact is
that we all feel guilt. The short story The Tell Tale Heartby Edgar Allan Poe is a
perfect example of conveying this message. The story is about a man who lives with
an old master who posses an impaired eye; haunted by the eye, the main character
attempts to kill the old man. After doing so his conscience comes back to haunt him
leading him to his demise. The story is a great representation ... Show more content

The story is so detailed that you feel in the moment as you read. The character
thoughts and surrounding paint a vivid picture in the reader s head. His true
colors appear when poe writes, I felt that I must scream or die! and now again!
hark! louder! louder! louder! louder! (page 4). We can see what exactly is going on
in the mind of the character, when he experiences guilt for the first time directly
and sees the wrong in his actions. Where regrets makes him take the consequences
for his action : I admit the deed! tear up the planks! here, here! It is the beating of
his hideous heart! (page 4). The character finally revealed himself and accepts his
fate. This depicts the effects of guilt and how it can push someone to limit, even
confessing to
Highly Inattentive Presentation
Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder
that is found in approximately 5% of children and is characterized by disruptive
patterns of inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity that persists for at least
six months (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The prevalence of ADHD
makes it an especially important disorder to study. The Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association,
2013) lists three different presentations within ADHD based on the two separate
categories of symptoms (Inattention and Hyperactivity/Impulsivity): Predominantly

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM 5;
American Psychiatric Association, 2013) mentions that children with ADHD may
be susceptible to cognitive difficulties. Research has shown that children who
presented problems related to cognition tended to show a greater benefit from
engaging in private speech than those who did not have such difficulties when
completing tasks (Aro et al., 2015), providing a possible explanation for why those
with ADHD are likely to use more private speech. Given the inattentive aspect of
ADHD, research suggests that children with ADHD are likely to use more private
speech than their peers because engaging in private speech is helpful for children
when trying to focus their attention to a task (Aro et al., 2015; Patrick Abravanel,
2000). Also related to issues with attention, Berk Potts (1991) have found in their
research that children with ADHD tend to engage in more forms of private speech
that are meant to help guide themselves through the activity and mediate their
behavior while working on a task. For the most part, private speech in children with
ADHD seems to be used to focus attention and guide behavior to progress towards a
solution to the task (Aro et al., 2015; Berk Potts, 1991; Patrick Abravanel,
Operation Sludge Analysis
Operation Sludge: Mya and Don drove down to the ports where the detective
patrolled to think up a plan. They found a side entrance where the vehicles that
would snatch him up couldn t be spotted. The process had to be quick and clean.
Mya mentioned they ve yet to find a place for operations. Don drove around until
they found a road less traveled into an abandoned factory that was quaint enough to
store someone or get rid of them. They did need to test to make sure the chemicals

While driving back into sandy shores Mya was contacted by a random phone

Modern And Capable Armed Forces
Maintaining modern and capable armed forces is not an easy task. One of the most
important tasks for a country, state and society is to defend itself against attackers
and other threats. Military force, as Clausewitz made explicit, is not an end in itself
and it only has meaning in relation to the future desired political landscape. When
internal political institutions function normally, the wielders of sovereign power are
the natural arbiters of last resort among competing interests and values in the policy,
including the subordination of the militaryto the highest political authorities.
Armed Forces of a country should be designed to fulfil all tasks given to them from
political authorities. Each country develops its armed forces based on specific
conditions and requirements drawn from national security policy and as stated in
national security and national defense strategies. National security strategy is aimed
to enhance the safety of the nation s economic, social and political institutions against
different threats. Strategies also deal with complex and diverse security challenges,
like proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, climate change and migrations. To
accomplish and safeguard their own security, states are trying to depend on national
resources and also through the various international organizations and alliances.
Defense policy covers the military domain and involves quantitative issues of the size,
recruitment and supply of the military forces,
Rock And Roll In The 50 s
Rock and Roll is not just another type of music, it is a part of people s lives. Rock
and Roll shocked the world since the 50 s. Most people found this new music very
enthusiastic, especially teens. Across America where rock and roll was created,
some people saw good in this music and others saw bad. This is the history of rock
and roll. Most historians trace rock and roll back to the 1950 s, more specifically
1954. When this new type of music appeared it changed the world, especially among
young people. Rock and roll did not develop immediately, it was regularly denounced
throughout the 50 s because it was believed it had a negative impact on the nation s
youth. American Bandstand countered this and made it acceptable. Major artists who

Rock music today is still being created by popular bands such as Nickelback, Green

Strongyloidiasis Treatment Paper
Treatment:
The treatment of Strongyloides depends on severity of the infection and the
underlying host conditions (Miller et al., 2008).The goals of treatment for
strongyloidiasis are to treat symptomatic disease and prevent complications in
asymptomatic disease by eradicating the organism and thus eliminate autoinfection
(Segarra Newnham, 2007).To start with, traditional Chinese medicine ( guan Zhong ,
gentian violet ) (Wang et al., 2013), Mebendazole (Reddy and Swarnalata, 2005), and
tribendimidine (Steinmann et al., 2008) are the most widely used best treatment
available for the uncomplicated infections. However, with advancing knowledge the
current treatment options include thiabendazole, albendazole and ivermectin (Grove,
1996; Igual Adell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Igual Adell et al., 2004).It has also been registered as the drug of choice in the
World Health Organization s list of essential drugs for the treatment of human
strongyloidiasis (Albonico et al., 1999).The dosage generally recommended is of
200 mm/kg of body weight administered orally once daily for 1 2 days (Mejia and
Nutman, 2012). Treatment is repeated if necessary 2 3 weeks after the first course to
ensure eradication of infection (Segarra Newnham, 2007). Although this is the
standard dose administered for the treatment of the disease but the dosing interval and
the length of therapy depends on the stage of diagnosis and the severity of the
diseases. Also the prompt treatment is essential for improving the patient outcome.
Moreover, combined therapy using ivermectin and thiabendazole or ivermectin and
albendazole has been recommended in patients with disseminated disease (Segarra
Newnham, 2007). It is important to note there is an issue with Oral absorption of
ivermectin in severe strongyloidiasis patients due to hypoalbuminemia, paralytic ileus
and sometimes increased drug clearance (Turner et al., 2005). In such cases, it is
administered subcutaneously or rectally. The dose for the subcutaneous ivermectin
administration is different from the oral administration of the drug. Prescribed dosage
Femininity In Brazil
Brazil is a large country: not only does its population of 205,823, 655 (Central
Intelligence Agency) make it the fifth most populous country worldwide ( Countries

Portuguese colonialism and historic waves of immigration have contributed to Brazils

Sinan Shipwreck Essay
The Sinan Shipwreck is a Chinese cargo ship that sank off the coast of South Korea
in c.1323 AD during the Yuan Dynasty. The ship left Ning po on the Eastern Chinese
Seaboard and was carrying cargo to Japan when it wrecked, less than a month after
departing from China. The government of the Yuan Dynasty and Mongol Empire was
set up by Kublai Khan, the founder of the dynasty. He created a system of
bureaucracy that included many different cultures that were a part of the empire. For
example, Tibetan Buddhists, Mongols, Han Chinese, Khitans, and Jurchens. Many
parts of the government were of Chinese style. Kublai Khan s administration was the

the education of new doctors and medical treatises. Healers were divided into two

characterized for their use of herbal remedies, while Mongol shamans were noted for
their spiritual cures. During the Yuan period advances in medicine were made and the
practice of Chinese medicine spread throughout the empire. Healers were even
brought along on military campaigns as they expanded, techniques such as
moxibustion, pulse diagnosis, acupuncture, and herbal mixtures and remedies spread

Cole V South Tweed Heads Rugby League Football Club
The High court reached the correct decision in Cole V South Tweed Heads Rugby
League Football Club Limited [2004] HCA ( The club ) on a number of grounds.
The New South Wales Court of Appeal Wales held that the club owed Ms Cole
only the general duty of care owed by the occupier of premises to a lawful entrant.
This duty did not extend to protecting patrons from harm of the kind suffered by Ms
Cole caused by intoxication. Ms Cole appealed to the High Court. The High Court,
by a 4 2 majority, dismissed the appeal. It held that an adult in Ms Cole s position
knew the effects and risks of excessive drinking and that the club had done all that
could be expected of it to ensure her safety. The decision reached by the High Court
is in line with the current legislation and common law dictates, concerning the legal
position of an intoxicated plaintiff and the duty of care in relation to an intoxicated
plaintiff.
The judgement in Cole provides confirmation of the direction of the Court s
jurisprudence in terms of a contraction in the law of negligence, as the last outpost of
the welfare state . In addition, Cole also suggests that we might as a community want
to pause to reconsider the balance struck between the privacy of individual consumers
of alcohol and broader community safety concerns.
I. LEGAL POSITION OF AN INTOXICATED PLAINTIFF
The decision of the High Court in regards to the intoxication of the plaintiff and
resulting level of liability is echoed in sections 49 and 50
The Discovery Of The Higgs Boson
The universe is weird. Its positively maddening how, despite knowing so much, we
humans only know four percent of all the knowable stuff the universe has to tell.
New discoveries are being made every day about multitudes of subjects. Cures for
diseases, new background into the first organisms to inhabit the planet, and new
advances in personal technology occur so often that it may be difficult to be
shocked by the world around us. However every so often a discovery is made, and
an experiment goes perfectly right. The discovery of the Higgs Boson is that
experiment. Well, metaphorically speaking it is. The universe and science lend
themselves well to hyperbole however the truth is never so simple. The Higgs Boson
is the fundamental particle that gives everything mass. The standard modelof physics
depends on the Higgs Bosons existence. The Standard Model is an explanation for
how the building blocks of the universe interact with matter(CERN Accelerating
Science, The Standard Model). According to the Standard Model, All matter is made
of elementary particles. Elementary particles are the building blocks of matter and
are separated into two groups, Leptons and Quarks. Both Leptons and Quarks contain
groups and generations. The groups, containing six particles each, are related in pairs
known as generations. Quarkgenerations are broken up in three pairs. Up and Down
Quark, Charm and Strange Quark, and Top and Bottom Quark. Leptons are also
grouped in three generations.

use this tactic to invade neighboring countries. By the time the blitz came upon
Britain the Nazi s conquered most of Europe. The Nazi s planned to attack Britain
and invade. They would try to cripple the British defenses. While trying to bombard
their defenses they accidentally attacked a civilian area which caused uproar with
the British people. Many people thought raids like this would not stop so they had a

September of 1940 and this would last until May of 1941. The Battle of Britain was
going on around the same time. This battle would not only be important because it

Hitler s first defeat in World War 2. This would be a landmark battle because not
only was this battle not fought on land, but for this first time in human history the

The Alchemist By Paulo Coelho Analysis
Robert Frost, an American poet, wrote in his poem, The Road Not Taken, Two
roads diverged in a wood, and I I took the one less traveled by, And that has made
all the difference. Santiago of Paulo Coelho s The Alchemist has that split road,
two decisions: one that is unpredictable and one that is safe. If he makes the safe
and popular choice, he knows he will regret it and always wonder what would have
happened. If he makes the unpredictable choice, the one that is chosen less, he will
follow his heart, and find his treasure. Santiago decides, and is following his heart
through his journey to the Pyramids to find his treasure. In the novel, The Alchemist,
by Paulo Coelho, Santiago learns, Remember where your heart is, there you will find
your treasure. First, Santiago learns a valuable lesson about selfawareness. Next,
Santiago understands a new feeling he is experiencing. Last, Santiago unexpectedly
learns a new truth about his treasure.
To begin, Santiago learns a valuable lesson about self awareness. For example,
while Santiago is talking to King Melchizedek, he tells Santiago a story of a wise
man who gave a spoon with oil to a boy, and told him to walk around the palace.
The boy does, but does not see any of the wonderful things around him, yet when
he looks at those things, he drops the oil, Santiago learns the lesson from the story:
The secret of happiness is to see all of the marvels of the world, and never to forget
the drops of oil in the spoon (35).

can range anywhere in the organized or unorganized type. Typically, an organized
mass murderer carefully plans out much of the crime he is about to commit. A
disciple killer is an example of an organized mass murderer. They are usually
followers of a charismatic leader, who influences them into killing any victim he
directs them to. One disciple killer case would be that of Leslie Van Houton, a 16

of organized mass murderer would be known as the pseudo commando. This type of
mass murderer stockpiles exotic weapons in their home and often wears battle

Ionic and Covalent Bonding Essay
Ionic and Covalent Bonding
Ionic and covalent bonding is involved when the atoms of an element chemically
combine to make their outer shells full and to make the atoms stable.
The first type of bonding you can get is ionic bonding. Electrons are transferred from
one atom to another to try and create full outer shells, this gain and loss of electrons
on the atoms results in positive and negative ions. In these compounds you get
electrostatic force, this is the force/attraction that occurs between the positive and
negative ions that hold the compound together. This type of bonding takes place
between metals and non metals. The metals lose electrons and form cations, whereas
the non metals gain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the size of the negative ion and the charge on the positive ion both increase and
the size of the positive ions decrease, the polarisation effect increases. This polar
ionic bonding gives many of the atoms covalent characters. Sometimes one of the
atoms become so highly polarised that they share the electrons and therefore can
create covalent bonds.
Covalent bonding takes place where two atoms have a single, unpaired electron in an
atomic orbital; these orbitals will therefore overlap so that the two atoms are sharing
a pair of electrons. The attraction that holds the atoms together is the force between
the electron and the nuclei in each of the atoms. Before the atoms are bonded, the
single, non bonded pairs of electrons are called lone pairs of electrons. When the
atoms combine by means of covalent bonding they form molecules.
Simple covalent compounds consist of many small molecules. The covalent bonds
within the molecules are strong but the bondings between them to form the
compounds are relatively weak, the force that occurs between them is called the
intermolecular force. It takes very little energy to break these forces; therefore
simple covalent compounds have very low melting points and generally appear as
gases.
You can also get multiple bonds; this is where atoms can share more than 2

products. The Excel OM worksheet shows that efficiency increases to a point on
the learning curve that basically levels off around the 50th batch which takes
around 280 hours. As you can see that is a little over a quarter of the time required
to produce the first batch, which took 1,000 hours. 2. A copy of my Excel OM

Identity Theft In Water
Today we live in a world where identity theft is on the rise, whether its stealing one s
information for financial gain, use of one s personal information, or even obtain
credentials. Since the attacks on 9/11 on the United States, many organizations and
government agencies have implemented tighten security when it comes to identity.
One of the most important resources to everyone in the world is water. We
technically could not survive on a weekly basis without a certain amount of water.
The possibility of an unauthorized person entering a water utility plan to commit
unlawful acts is much possible. There many chemicals one can buy in your public
store or even online, that can be used to contaminate the water supply of a water

advantages and disadvantages. The important thing for a water utility facility to
understand is, which technology will best suit their security needs. Although testing
and training will play a vital role in ensuring that the technologies that are
implemented are running proficiently and maintained properly. Terrorism, sabotage,
identity theft will continue to grow over the years but so will biometric
The Fall Sioux City Crash
The essay will be discussing about the failure of mankind due to inefficient
engineering projects. It will also explain , the major cause of each disaster and its
effect on the surroundings.
The 1989 Sioux city crash :
Introduction:
John Fielder s The 1989 Sioux City Crash talks about the moral issues of a tail motor
outline and contrasts the DC 10 and other flying machine . As in alternate mishaps ,
loss of the motor ought not have brought about loss of the airplane however , as in
alternate mischances , consequent harm to the DC 10 s control framework prompted
the accident. Fielder. J.H,(1992).
Causes:
Debate proceeds with today over the DC 10 s security as a result of the 1989
accident of United Airlines Flight 232 in Sioux City , Iowa , in which 111
individuals passed on . Inquiries have again been raised about the sufficiency of
assurance for the control frameworks in the DC 10 . The National Transportation
Safety Board Report on the 1989 Sioux City Crash found that the reason for the
mischance was a metallurgical blemish in the fan gathering of the back motor. A
split in the 370 pound fan plate began from the defect and in the end made it
crumble . Trash from the blast separated all water driven lines , denying the pilot of
control over the flying surfaces on the tail and wings . the National Transportation
Safety Board (NTSB) report additionally portrays the shortcomings of the
examination of an airplane with little insurance of its
Central Educational Effect Of Primary Education
Learning to read is the central educational effect of primary education. Reading is an
intricate progression that takes shape beginning with oral language capacity, and
incorporates both explicit proficiency development (phonemic as well as decoding
strategies) and the use of comprehension strategies. The exact means in which these
processes blend needs to be understood if educators are to identify their students
needs and teach most effectively. Over the past forty years, many large scale
evaluations of inquiries into the effective teaching of readinghave occurred
worldwide in an effort to provide definitive and evidence based guidelines for
education systems (Adams, 1990).
This paper will bring together a framework containing the six major components of
reading. While it is rather risky to diminish a multifaceted behavior such as reading
into a small quantity of components, for the purposes of clarity and understanding,
the framework is offered here as one way of manufacturing the major results of a
vast number of empirical studies into the components of an effective reading
program. Each of the following six components will be expanded and should provide
key messages and strategies for classroom application.
Oral Language The first component of Reading that we will examine will be Oral
Language. Oral language provides the basis for learning to read, and is related to the
students overall reading achievement during primary and secondary education. From

The Elements Of A Collection Framework And Increase

Abstract:
In software development, there have a complex problem is found out that object,
class or similar types of data cannot be plugged in when inference miss matches.
Collection framework is used to overcome this problem. A unified interface to store,
retrieve and manipulate the elements of a collection is provided by collection
framework. A collection framework package contains a set of interface,
implementation classes and algorithm such as sorting and searching algorithm. But
user cannot understand by which collection framework is worked out. However,in
various way many user can understand this point such as programming language. In
many papers they have used only object pattern diagram but in this paper we use
object and class pattern diagram. In this paper we give an improving way of
adapting of the collection framework and increase the capability of existing adapted
data type.
Introduction:
A group element of same type can be stored by using array. But it has a fixed length
which cannot be changed once allocated. Collection framework support dynamically
allocated data structure. It mandates the common behaviors of all classes. A
framework is a set of interfaces that force you to adopt some design practices. A
well‐designed framework can improve our productivity and provide ease of
maintenance. In software development signature mismatches is a problem. Recently
it can be overcome in many ways such as object pattern design, class pattern design,

Should there be a legal market for the transplant of kidneys from live donors? If so,
what form should this market take? If not, how should the shortage of kidneys for
transplant be addressed?
First I am going to argue that that a upholding the right to self ownership should be a
justification in allowing for an unregulated legal market for the transplant of kidneys
from live donors.
Second I will explain how the negative externality that would occur due to the
existence of a new market for live kidneys, would create a decrease in the welfare of
society through behavioural effects in other similar markets. I will counter this
argument by explaining that there would be an overall net gain in utility received by

Such as the way others view them as virtuous and vital additions to the benefit of
society.
The presence of a market provides the opportunity for a donor and recipient to take
part in a transaction that better improves the utility of both individuals (by capturing
dead weight loss) assuming they both place heterogeneous values on the kidney (e.g.
the donor values his kidney at ВЈ1000, yet receives ВЈ1200 and the recipient values
the transplant of the kidney at ВЈ1500 yet only pays ВЈ1200). Such an exchange
would lead to a Pareto improvement in terms of utility, which is defined as the
movement towards an alternative state in which no one is made worse off and at
least one person is made better off; if such a state does exist. The absence of a
market in this case would lead to a dead weight loss, due to the lost producer and
consumer surplus (Difference between value of the good and price paid/received for
it) which would have been captured were the market exchange of the good permitted.
In the U.K. kidneys are viewed as market inalienable, in other words the good
cannot be transferred between agents that involves an exchange of resources and can
only be provided as a gift (gift alienable).
I believe the shortage of kidneys available in the U.K. (6,500 people are on the
waiting list for a kidney transplant) is due to the fact that the supply of kidneys is
restricted to those individuals that

Data Breach Research Papaer
Secure or Breached?
As technology is becoming more prevalent the manner in which we store
information is changing. Gone are the days of information being stored into file
cabinets. Instead information is stored in databases, a system of hard drives that
stores information electronically normally accessible remotely. With this comes a
rise in hackers and correspondingly a rise in security breaches, where hackers have
access to sensitive information. Vulnerabilities are the root of all hacks. For
businesses, they result in a decline in reliability. If an individual or a group wants to
breach information, they will almost always find a way. With the increasing need for
information databases, businesses have to weigh the risks of hacks. When ... Show

but only discusses punishment of the violator. This is another law that does not
clearly prohibit cybercrime. It criminalizes identity theft and allows courts to assess
the losses suffered by individual consumers which does not specify the form in
which identity theft must take place. Laws prohibiting and punishing cybercrimes
are less effective when the root of the problem cannot be tracked. For as
controversial as the topic is, there may not be laws in effect fully prohibiting
cybercrimes to a full extent.
Motives behind the hack Reasons behind a data breach are just as varied as the
people who carry them out. Most hackers fall in one of three categories, white hat,
black hat, and grey hat hackers. The white hat hacker is a person who hacks legally;
no information is stolen or vulnerabilities exploited. Instead, white hat hackers are
hired by companies to try and breach the security in place, they then inform said
company of how they managed to bypass security masseurs in order to help patch
exploits in the security. Then there is the black hat hackers, these hackers hack
without permission for self gain or for the challenge. They normally steal information
like credit card numbers, social security numbers and addresses. Other times the will
sell the nature of the exploit on the black market to the highest bidder. However,

Franciscans In Much Ado Analysis
From Henry VIII s separation for the Roman Catholic Church to Mary I s persecution
of Protestants, Elizabethan England was a world rife with religious conflict. The
budding Church of England struggled to take root in the hearts and minds of the
people. Popular media of the era reflected this struggle. Many authors and playwrights
sided with the Church of Englandsatirizing Roman Catholic clergy and worshipers in
their fiction; however, some of the period s most enduring plays take a different
approach. In Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, and Measure for Measure,
William Shakespeare created multidimensional Franciscans who serve as wise and
caring councilors, wisdom behind deceptions for the good of the protagonists,

This play features Isabella a novice of St. Clare who is romantically pursued by
Lord Angelo, Sister Fransisca, two friars, and the Duke who disguises himself as a
friar. These Franciscans display the characteristics and highlight the importance of
virtue and honor.
Isabella is the personification of virtue and honor. When her brother Claudio is
imprisoned after impregnated his love Juliet, Angelo calls the novice to court.
Angelo tells her she can save her brother s life if she will give up her vow of chastity
and sleep with him. Isabella refuses. She will not sacrifice her honor and virtue for
her brother s life. This angers Angelo, and he promises to execute Claudio and
somehow haw Isabella (Shakespeare, Measure for Measure, 537).
Although not a true Friar, the while disguised as a Franciscan, the Duke in
Measure for Measure shares the role of councilor while hearing confessions. In act
2 scene 3, Juliet comes to confess to the Friar Duke. She confesses that she and
Claudio had consensual sex and that he should not be blamed in the matter. He
brings he comfort and offers her repentance. Then, when the Duke speaks to Isabella
and Claudio in Act 3.1, he praises Isabella for her virtue in resisting Angelo, and
hears their problem. He has compassion on the siblings, and offers to help them with

significant finding from this study was that three business improvement
methodologies of different philosophical origins could all be systematically
combined to contribute to organizational goals. They support this finding by
explaining that there was a distinct lack of evidence, at any level, of complaints of
unnecessary overlap and contradictory goals (McAdam and Donagan, 2003). They
recommend further research is this area because the integration and aggregation of
these approaches and their effects would appear to have the potential to produce a

My New House Essay
As soon as I walked into the front doors of my new house I knew this wasn t my
old house. It was like walking into my grandma s house which was like a thousand
years old. I definitely liked my old house better. Speaking of my old house, it was
like my dream house. It was like I was in my very own world and I had the freedom
to do whatever I wanted on that farmland back in Tennessee. Now this stinky dump
in Cleveland is nothing like our city in Tennessee. I walked up the old creaky stairs
and at the top to the right was my room. As soon as I walked into my room I could
not say a word, it was the ugliest room ever, but I knew I had to make it work. Oh I
miss those days back at our farm in Tennessee. At home I was always stressed
because of school but at the farm it gave me something to do and to take my mind
off school. The farm was so fun I got to do whatever I wanted to do,like run throw
the corn mazes, take care of the chickens, make sure all the plants had water, play with
the gotes, ride horses, there was so many things to do at the farm that you could never
get bored. My favorite thing to do was plant different types of vegetables and fruitand
watch the plants grow. I truly missed the farm, and all I could think about was the
farm and how much fun I had there and how I lived there my whole childhood. The
next morning I woke up to the sound of fire truck siren, I guess in the city of
Cleveland you will always hear them or anything loud at 6:00 in the morning. I
truly thought that this was the jumpiest and loudest city ever, well at least in this
part of Cleveland. I stay in my room the rest of the morning trying to figure out
how to make my room feel like home. All of a sudden I hear loud screaming from
down stairs. We would have never had to move here if you re stupid crops did not
die my mom said. The move was really hard on my mom she loved ohio and loved
her job,but my mom and dad were not making much money. Then I heard louder
screaming, It is not just all my fault you could have got a better job, my dad says.
Then I hear screaming even louder how could you say that, you knew I loved my
job! My mom said. The screaming went on for another 5 mins, I could not listen to it

Explain Why Matt Should Not Have Gone To The Indian
Village
Matt was alone. In a cabin in the woods all by himself, he was keeping house till
his parents came. He met an Indian boy who invited him to his village. Should he
go? Matt should not have gone to the Indian village for these three reasons. They
were not familiar people, it was not his usual trail, and he was not the expected
champion. The first reason Matt should not have gone to the Indian village is that
they were not familiar people. He did not understand their ways, their speech, or
their dances. He was totally clueless about the Indian culture, except what he had
heard from his teachers. He would likely say or do something foolish, and offend
someone, and who knows what they might do to him if they got angry. He was not

Variable Costing
Absorption
As we have seen in previous chapters, when you manufacture your own inventory, the
cost of that inventory includes all of the costs associated with running the factory that
produces the inventory.
Generally, no part of the factory cost is expensed.
Instead, it is capitalized as the cost of the inventory produced. It is only expensed
when the inventory is sold. At that point the cost of the inventory becomes
Cost of Goods Sold. This system is referred to as
Absorption Costing. It is also know as Full Costing and
Full Absorption Costing .
The thought is that the inventory absorbs all of the factory costs fully.

Why Is Fear Important In Lord Of The Flies
Though people make a majority of their decisions subconsciously, fear is at the
core of them if people examined them closely. The world often operates on fear and
it is unavoidable. This constant presence of fear means that it is important to
understand how it affects humans and ask why is fear has such a major role in
people s lives. William Goldingwrote Lord of the Flies as a way to explore the many
aspects of human nature, including the role fear plays in our lives. Golding
illustrates how boys would behave if left on an island with no adults. Each boy
comes from a different background, and when they come together on the island, fear
is at the root of many of their actions as they work to survive. Golding demonstrates
that there are a few reasons for this fear.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, people are more inclined to have a false positive reaction. As people
panic more than necessary when faced with fear and anxiety, they allow the fear to
play a bigger part in their lives. Golding depicts this point in Lord of the Flies
when the boys are confronted with the idea of a beast. Near the end of the book,
the boys are acting out the killing of a beast when they noticed A thing was
crawling out of the forest. It came darkly, uncertainly. The shrill screaming that
rose before the beast was like a pain. The beast stumbled into the horseshoe (152).
The boys, led by Jack, go on to kill the beast like creature, who turns out to be
Simon. The boys risk a false positive reaction and overreact to their uncertainty.
While some may argue that this example does not show how overreacting to fear
saved the boy, that is irrelevant to the fact of whether or not the boys overreact,
which they did. Humans continue to panic when encountering fear, and thus plays a
major part in everyday

Teenage Dating in the 1950s
Teenagers in the 1950 s are so iconic that, for some, they represent the last
generation of innocence before it is lost in the sixties. When asked to imagine this
lost group, images of bobbysoxers, letterman jackets, malt shops and sock hops
come instantly to mind. Images like these are so classic, they, for a number of
people, are as American as apple pie. They are produced and perpetuated by the
media, through films like Grease and Pleasantville and television shows like Happy
Days, The Donna Reed Show, and Leave It to Beaver. Because of these entertainment

She then is given the option of accepting his call by letting him in or rejecting it by
making up an excuse as to why she cannot see him. Refreshments were often served
(though not always), and the entertainment was primarily piano playing in the parlor.
But because the lower classes were not so well endowed so that they own pianos or
even parlors, they started their own form of courtship which soon became known as
dating. This practice was soon picked up by the upper classes, and from there it
progressed into the middle class, with which it is still inherently associated today
(Bailey 17).
Calling and dating are so intrinsically different it is hard to imagine how the
transition from one to another was even made. Firstly, calling was practiced with the
intention of finding a suitable husband for a young lady; whereas, in dating, this
was, and still is, not the primary goal. People date because it is enjoyable, pleasant,
and valuable (Merrill 62), and they thought that they could gain rewarding
experiences from it. In the fifties and surrounding decades, handbooks and other
books exploring relationships described dating as a fun activity in which teens are
allowed to meet and mingle with many members of the opposite sex. Besides, dating
allowed young people to be with each other without their parents interfering.

Valuation Is The Price Of Everything, But The Value Of...
According to Oscar Wilde, a cynic is one who knows the price of everything, but the
value of nothing .
Valuation is at the heart of any investment decision, whether that decision is buy, sell
or hold.
Every assets have to be valued in order to take an investment decision, and their
sources have to been understood as well. Various methods of valuation can be
used, and a certain degree of uncertainty exists.A valuation is uncertain. A good
valuation does not provide a precise estimate of value.Nevertheless, a valuation
enables to get a large overview in order to take an investment decision. For that
reason valuation is a strategic aspect in many areas of finance. In corporate finance,
the firm s value aims to be as high as possible and will have an effect on corporate
decisions, including projects to develop and where to find funds, and on the dividend
policy.
In such a way to study the topic, we will discuss first the Net Asset Value and its
advantages and disadvantages, then the Discounted cash flow method and to finish
the dividend discount model.
The net asset value (NAV) method measures the value of a fund s assets. It enables
investors to analyse a fund s performance market and industry standards such as
Moody s.
The NAV is the book value of equity, in other words the total value of a company s
assets less its liabilities total value.
The first advantage to the Net Asset Value is the availableness of the data it performs.
It also allows adjustments. Then, it is

prominent qualities that great leaders possess, another key innate ability is
Confidence. Confidence is among the traits of great leaders, confidence cannot be
taught; confidence for most great leaders is inborn. Francisco Dao in his article wrote
Without Confidence there is no leadership; leadership is about having the confidence
to make decisions. If someone is afraid to make and commit to decisions, all of the
communication and empowerment in the world won t make a squat of difference .
(Dao 2008) Another quality that great leaders are born with is Passion. Leaders
always exhibit this quality in any area they find themselves. Being passionate about
an idea, a project, a business is just learnt in the confines of the four walls of a
classroom, it s a trait that is inborn. Passionate leaders spread passion to others
through their love of life, doing new things, taking risks, being motivated, having a
sense of urgency, and reinventing
Holden Caulfield Psychoanalysis
The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, is a timeless novel, bringing up the
controversial truth of mental health and the manners in which society s norm
impacts us as individuals. Immediately when reading the book it becomes clear
that Holden Caulfield is damaged, but who in this world isn t? The reader becomes
aware of Holden s traumas as he struggles to clearly define and label them. Holden s
embodiment of an average teenager, is a refreshingly clear explanation of teenage
angst. He bounces back, memory to memory, recalling different things as the reader
experiences his breakdown. As his subconscious struggles to find someone who will
listen, someone like Allie, his dead brother. The manner in which different lenses
affect the novel is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Immediately within reading the novel it becomes clear that there is a direct
disconnect between Holden and his comfort with men, I don t much like to see old
guys in their pajamas and bathrobes anyway. (7). Understanding why he has such a
strong disliking is unclear unless seen within Freud s theory of the defenses. This
lens clarifies the reader s curiosity to why Holden is so uncomfortable, Then
something happened. I don t like to talk about it... Holden began to retell, What the
hellya doing? I said. Nothing! I m simply sitting here, admiring (Mr. Antolini)... I
know more damn perverts, at school and all, they re always being perverty when I
m around. (192). Holden s discomfort highlights the ignored truth to teachers in
boarding school, while explaining the differences of perverted attraction and
appropriate conduct. Holden s immediate trauma from these numerous experiences
in his youth add the reasoning with his negative feelings towards and about sex. To
keep the conflict and trauma Holden feels is one of Freud s explanations for why
we unconsciously form defenses. Holden s personal defense being his fear and
rejection of
Social Satire In The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is possibly F. Scott Fitzgerald s greatest work. It is a book that
provides insightful views of the American social climbers in the 1920s. The Great
Gatsby is an American classic and a wonderfully haunting work.
The novel s happenings are told with the help of the consciousness of its narrator,
Nick Carraway, a graduate from Yale. Upon relocating to New York, he rents a house
next door to the mansion of an eccentric millionaire, Jay Gatsby who throws
extravagant and lavish parties every Saturday night. Nick lives on an island across
from where his rich friend Tom and cousin Daisy live. Tom is having an affair with a
middle class woman named Myrtle Wilson. Unfortunately everyone knows about
Tom and Myrtle s affair except for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Daisy, Gatsby and even Nick all have their own issues. The writing took me longer
to appreciate but I found myself more and more immersed in it as I went on. I think
the book is just incredibly atmospheric.
Gatsby s materialism is an attempt to class pass. His whole life is about trying to
achieve the American Dream of coming from poverty and becoming wealthy so he
can socialize with the privileged. However, the American Dream is a lie, the game
is rigged and the only way to move up in America is through illicit means. So, he
does that. But even then, the elites never see him as an equal and he s always a guy
wearing a gauche pink suit to them.
That pink suit is a sign that he has money, which Gatsby needs to get in with the
Long Island crowd. Tom Buchanan does not need such signs because he has the
name. He s old money, so he does not have to tell people he is wealthy. Gatsby s
wealth is just a component of his tragic character. He has a desire that we all have: to
fit in with a desirable
Should School Start Later Persuasive Essay
What time do you get up to get ready for school? Do you wake up at the last minute
and have to rush? Some people may say that school starts too early, and in all reality
it does. Students minds are never fully awake at eight a.m.. They may not give
themselves enough time to eat breakfast. May not be getting enough sleep. Maybe
they don t have a ride. Are the teachers even ready? If school started an hour later
would there be as many tardies? Pushing the starttime back an hour may be
beneficial for students and teachers. Some kids are not able to drive themselves to
school. Whether it be they are out of gas, no car, or not even eligible to drive. If
they were to wake up late, and miss the bus, or other transportation, it may take
them a while to get to school. Whether they have to walk or whether they have to
find someone else to take them. Either way they will most likely be late, and miss
class time. If school were pushed back an hour it would give them enough time to
make it to class on time. No excuses. You may think that if they do it with this time,
that they will do it if changed too. In all reality they can wake up at the same time
and not be rushed to get to school. Also have time to eat breakfast, and maybe find
another ride. Say that they were to wake up at seven fifty. That would give them
enough time to shower if needed, eat, play on their phone, and get to school.
Allowing them to be on time to their first hour class, and be able to chat with friends

The Manchurian Candidate by Johnathan Demme Essay
The Manchurian Candidate, Johnathan Demme directed the remake. Both films
portray paranoia, mind control, and conspiracy. Frankenheimer utilizes satire,
humor, and symbolism to convey the themes, whereas, Demme uses modern fears,
camera angles and focus, and mental illness to achieve similar results. Many of the
elements of the 2004 remake have been modernized. While the original movie
placed the soldiers in Korea, the remake placed them in Kuwait. Demme did
changed the location of the war, in order to appeal to current fears and suspicions. In
1962, the threat of communism was at the forefront of everyone s thoughts. However,
during 2004, only three years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, citizens were no longer
concerned about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film switches between perspectives of the ladies garden party and the
communist officials to stress the comic surrealism of the situation. The calm and
genteel ladies garden party is a stark contrast to the evil plotting of the communists.
Image overlay as well as soft lighting are also used to convey the surrealism and
dreamlike quality. The absurd way that Eleanor s husband, Senator Iselin, presents
the supposed number (which he is constantly changing) of communists in the state
department, satirizes the Red Scare and McCarthyism. Many of the accused
communists during the red scare were merely from wild speculation caused by
irrational fear and political movements to get rid of the opposition. It was also
ironic that Eleanor, who had her husband present the fake number of communists,
was actually the communist herself. The role of a mother is also satirized in the
film. The 1950 s portrayed mothers as pure and wholesome, however Eleanor is
portrayed as the evil and conniving perpetrator of peril. The remake focused on
keeping the audience and Major Marco in a constant state of paranoia and
uncertainty. In the original movie, the audience is shown, as well as told by the
narrator, that the platoon was captured and brainwashed by communists. Whereas, in
the remake, Major Marco and the

Mitosis Vs Meiosis Research Paper
Mitosis and meiosis are both types of cell divisions that have various similarities
and differences. They comparably associate with cytokinesis and form daughter
cells however, meiosis occurs in primordial diploid cells in animals, plants and
fungi, whilst mitosis takes place in somatic cells in every organism (Vidyasagar. A,
2015). Meiosis differs from mitosisas it undergoes a process known as DNA
recombination, during which genetic material interchange with chromosomes or
various regions of the same chromosome. DNA recombination is a common source of
genetic variation. Mitosis is the continuous process by which the body creates new
cells to repair damaged or aging membranes, fibers and tissues (Clare O Connor,
2008). The end result of mitosis are two genetically identical diploid daughter cells,
which develop from the single parent cell dividing. Conversely, the meiosis cell
divides into four haploid gametes each possessing half the number of chromosomes
of the parent cell (Alberts. B, 2010).
Fertilisation occurs when the two female and male gametes fuse, causing a diploid cell

Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus s Contributions
Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus was born around AD 70, and by the early 90s he had
moved to Rome and thus begun his scholarly studies that became one of his chief
occupations (Rives xviii). Here in Rome he acquired his patron and benefactor, Gaius
Plinius Secundus, who had a very successful public career and was known well for
his collection of letters that Suetoniusmakes his first appearance in, as an advocate
(xviii). Plinius remained his benefactor for fifteen years; from his letters we can see
that Suetonius had an interest in pursuing a public career (xviii) and that he had a
great interest in scholarly and literary pursuits (xix). The fullest account of his
scholarly works are found in a work entitled, Suda, a Byzantine encyclopedia... Show

It is clear that Suetonius favored Augustus over the other Caesars, and in large
part due this is due to his more thoughtful, and responsible use of his power and
army. Yet Augustus never wantonly invaded any country, and felt no temptation
to increase the boundaries of the empire or enhance his military glory... (Suetonius
53). Clearly Augustus was not greedy with his power and felt no urge or need to
extend his power or to greater his military power, he valued and favored peace,
fairness, and wisdom; which is clearly shown here, Even when tribes rebelled
frequently or showed particular ill faith, Augustus most severe punishment was to
sell as slaves the prisoners he took... (54). The two faults in which we condemned
most strongly in a military commander were haste and recklessness (56). This
thoughtfulness and wisdom earned Augustus high honor in Suetonius report in
regard to his Military skills. In sharp contrast to Augustus; Caligula had an urge for
war, a desire for it to happen if you may. The prosperity of his own reign, he said,
would lead to it s being wholly forgotten, and he often prayed for a great military
catastrophe.., (162). He once, at the realization that the chance for war were slim to
none for him, ordered a few German prisoners to be taken across the Rhine and
hidden in the trees, after lunch his scouts
Barbara And Patricia Grimes s Case Of The Missing
Woman As...
In 1956, on December 28 Barbara and Patricia Grimes went to see an Elvis Presley
movie called Love Me Tender and they never made it back home. Their mother,
Loretta Grimes first knew something was wrong when they didn t show up before
their curfew like usual and the didn t show up at all. Loretta then sent her other
daughter, Theresa and her son Joey to the bus stop to watch for them. Theresa and
Joey went home after three buses stopped and there was no sign of Barbara or
Patricia. Loretta then started to contact family, friends, and the police for any
signs her two missing daughters. Run Aways At first the police suggested that the
two girls had run away or was at a boyfriend s house. Loretta knew her girls wouldn
t do that because they didn t bring any extra cash, change of clothes, and they had
left their favorite Christmas presents at home. Loretta also told the police that the
two girls did not have any reason to run away. Patricia who was three days shy of
her thirteenth birthday was excited for the party and they were both happy girls. It
took a week after for the police to start treating the case like a missing persons case.
Missing Persons After the police made their statement about the two missing girls,
the city went into a frenzy. Leads started pouring in from everywhere which left
both the police and Loretta confused. It seemed as though everyone had spotted the
two girls. A school friend of the two girls saw them at the theater and sat with them
during the movie. A bus driver named Joseph Smok said he saw the girls get off of
his bus at Archer and Western, the bus stop where Theresa and Joey went to wait
for them. A security guard named Jack Franklin said that he offered them
directions on December 29, the day after they went missing. None of these leads
had any proof behind them until on January 1, the two girls were identified on
another CTA bus but the clue ended there. During the following week, more leads
came pouring in. A night clerk said he refused to give the girls a hotel room on
January 2 and employees at a Kresge department store said that the thought they saw
the two girls listening to Elvis Presley songs. It had seemed that the entire city was
on a manhunt for the two girls

  • 2. Love In Pyramus And Thisbe The tragic story of Pyramus and Thisbe, two lovers that loved each other beyond measure and it was that love that separated the both of them. Through this critical response paper I will proceed to analyze and respond to the mythological story of Pyramus Thisbe and show how their love tragedy came to be interpreted through different symbols. Pyramus and Thisbe were madly in love with each other however neither of their parents allowed them together. They had no one to confide all this to: nods and signs were their speech, and the more they kept the fire hidden, the more it burned. (Ovid, Bk IV:55 92) Through reading that, the reader can deduce how their passion and infatuation would ultimately lead to their demise as a consequence of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author was especially successful in making Pyramus and Thisbe become a main form of tragedy for the world of literature. You can see how the tragedy inspired many famous works of literature such as Romeo and Juliette by Shakespeare and as well as the legend of Layla and Majnun. Finally, the tragic act of both lovers killing themselves, was it simply naivety or was it truly the highest form of true love? Pyramus knew that asking for death, or committing the act of suicide was cowardly however what he sought was not just death but punishment for he believed that he was the reason Thisbe lost her life. When Thisbe found the dying body of Pyramus she knew what had happened, and she in turn believed it was her fault that he had died. When Pyramus killed himself, he stabbed his side. However Thisbe decided that her heart was the suitable sheath for the sword. The symbolic meaning behind that is hearts are usually associated with love, and for Thisbe to die from a stab in the heart makes it almost as if death stole her heart and her love to take back to
  • 3. The Media Of A Third Estate Current news media can no longer be considered to occupy the position of a fourth estate [Writer Name] [Institute Name] Current news media can no longer be considered to occupy the position of a fourth estate Introduction The new media distinctively associated with the nineteenth and twentieth century the press, radio and television, the cinema and the record industry have traditionally been grouped together under the heading mass mediaand their study developed as a part of the sociology of mass communications (Jim, and William, 2007). At one level, this inherited vocabulary fulfils a useful descriptive function; people know what is being referred to when such terms as the mediaof mass communication are used. At another level, however, such terms may prove positively misleading. It is dear, for example, that the news mediawhich are customarily referred to in this way resemble one another only superficially. The relationships between the state and broadcasting institutions, for example, are quite different from those which obtain between the state and the press or, different yet again, between the state and the cinema. Similarly, the relationship between industry and audience is quite differently articulated in the case of the record industry as compared with the film industry (Myria, 2014). Discussion Access to knowledge is important to the health of democracy for minimum two causes. First, it assures that people make responsible, informed options despite than acting
  • 4. Guilt In The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe Regrets of the Heart Individuals experience life and the world in different ways, these experiences shapes our thinking, opinions and personalities differently. Its human nature to feel guilty for something wrong you have done and having a sense of regret. Some people might feel guilt for little thing while others may feel it for something big ,that fact is that we all feel guilt. The short story The Tell Tale Heartby Edgar Allan Poe is a perfect example of conveying this message. The story is about a man who lives with an old master who posses an impaired eye; haunted by the eye, the main character attempts to kill the old man. After doing so his conscience comes back to haunt him leading him to his demise. The story is a great representation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can see what exactly is going on in the mind of the character, when he experiences guilt for the first time directly and sees the wrong in his actions. Where regrets makes him take the consequences for his action : I admit the deed! tear up the planks! here, here! It is the beating of his hideous heart! (page 4). The character finally revealed himself and accepts his fate. This depicts the effects of guilt and how it can push someone to limit, even confessing to

Highly Inattentive Presentation Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is found in approximately 5% of children and is characterized by disruptive patterns of inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity that persists for at least six months (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The prevalence of ADHD makes it an especially important disorder to study. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013) lists three different presentations within ADHD based on the two separate categories of symptoms (Inattention and Hyperactivity/Impulsivity): Predominantly Inattentive Presentation, Predominately Hyperactive/Impulsive Presentation, and Combined Presentation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013) mentions that children with ADHD may be susceptible to cognitive difficulties. Research has shown that children who presented problems related to cognition tended to show a greater benefit from engaging in private speech than those who did not have such difficulties when completing tasks (Aro et al., 2015), providing a possible explanation for why those with ADHD are likely to use more private speech. Given the inattentive aspect of ADHD, research suggests that children with ADHD are likely to use more private speech than their peers because engaging in private speech is helpful for children when trying to focus their attention to a task (Aro et al., 2015; Patrick Abravanel, 2000). Also related to issues with attention, Berk Potts (1991) have found in their research that children with ADHD tend to engage in more forms of private speech that are meant to help guide themselves through the activity and mediate their behavior while working on a task. For the most part, private speech in children with ADHD seems to be used to focus attention and guide behavior to progress towards a solution to the task (Aro et al., 2015; Berk Potts, 1991; Patrick Abravanel,

  • 7. Modern And Capable Armed Forces Maintaining modern and capable armed forces is not an easy task. One of the most important tasks for a country, state and society is to defend itself against attackers and other threats. Military force, as Clausewitz made explicit, is not an end in itself and it only has meaning in relation to the future desired political landscape. When internal political institutions function normally, the wielders of sovereign power are the natural arbiters of last resort among competing interests and values in the policy, including the subordination of the militaryto the highest political authorities. Armed Forces of a country should be designed to fulfil all tasks given to them from political authorities. Each country develops its armed forces based on specific conditions and requirements drawn from national security policy and as stated in national security and national defense strategies. National security strategy is aimed to enhance the safety of the nation s economic, social and political institutions against different threats. Strategies also deal with complex and diverse security challenges, like proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, climate change and migrations. To accomplish and safeguard their own security, states are trying to depend on national resources and also through the various international organizations and alliances. Defense policy covers the military domain and involves quantitative issues of the size, recruitment and supply of the military forces,

Strongyloidiasis Treatment Paper Treatment: The treatment of Strongyloides depends on severity of the infection and the underlying host conditions (Miller et al., 2008).The goals of treatment for strongyloidiasis are to treat symptomatic disease and prevent complications in asymptomatic disease by eradicating the organism and thus eliminate autoinfection (Segarra Newnham, 2007).To start with, traditional Chinese medicine ( guan Zhong , gentian violet ) (Wang et al., 2013), Mebendazole (Reddy and Swarnalata, 2005), and tribendimidine (Steinmann et al., 2008) are the most widely used best treatment available for the uncomplicated infections. Treatment is repeated if necessary 2 3 weeks after the first course to ensure eradication of infection (Segarra Newnham, 2007). Although this is the standard dose administered for the treatment of the disease but the dosing interval and the length of therapy depends on the stage of diagnosis and the severity of the diseases. Also the prompt treatment is essential for improving the patient outcome. Moreover, combined therapy using ivermectin and thiabendazole or ivermectin and albendazole has been recommended in patients with disseminated disease (Segarra Newnham, 2007). It is important to note there is an issue with Oral absorption of ivermectin in severe strongyloidiasis patients due to hypoalbuminemia, paralytic ileus and sometimes increased drug clearance (Turner et al., 2005). In such cases, it is administered subcutaneously or rectally. The dose for the subcutaneous ivermectin administration is different from the oral administration of the drug. Prescribed dosage

Cole V South Tweed Heads Rugby League Football Club The High court reached the correct decision in Cole V South Tweed Heads Rugby League Football Club Limited [2004] HCA ( The club ) on a number of grounds. The New South Wales Court of Appeal Wales held that the club owed Ms Cole only the general duty of care owed by the occupier of premises to a lawful entrant. This duty did not extend to protecting patrons from harm of the kind suffered by Ms Cole caused by intoxication. Ms Cole appealed to the High Court. The High Court, by a 4 2 majority, dismissed the appeal. It held that an adult in Ms Cole s position knew the effects and risks of excessive drinking and that the club had done all that could be expected of it to ensure her safety. The decision reached by the High Court is in line with the current legislation and common law dictates, concerning the legal position of an intoxicated plaintiff and the duty of care in relation to an intoxicated plaintiff. The judgement in Cole provides confirmation of the direction of the Court s jurisprudence in terms of a contraction in the law of negligence, as the last outpost of the welfare state . In addition, Cole also suggests that we might as a community want to pause to reconsider the balance struck between the privacy of individual consumers of alcohol and broader community safety concerns. I. LEGAL POSITION OF AN INTOXICATED PLAINTIFF The decision of the High Court in regards to the intoxication of the plaintiff and resulting level of liability is echoed in sections 49 and 50

However every so often a discovery is made, and an experiment goes perfectly right. The discovery of the Higgs Boson is that experiment. Well, metaphorically speaking it is. The universe and science lend themselves well to hyperbole however the truth is never so simple. The Higgs Boson is the fundamental particle that gives everything mass. The standard modelof physics depends on the Higgs Bosons existence. The Standard Model is an explanation for how the building blocks of the universe interact with matter(CERN Accelerating Science, The Standard Model). According to the Standard Model, All matter is made of elementary particles. Elementary particles are the building blocks of matter and are separated into two groups, Leptons and Quarks. Both Leptons and Quarks contain groups and generations. The groups, containing six particles each, are related in pairs known as generations. Quarkgenerations are broken up in three pairs. Up and Down Quark, Charm and Strange Quark, and Top and Bottom Quark. Leptons are also grouped in three generations.

  • 21. Ionic and Covalent Bonding Essay Ionic and Covalent Bonding Ionic and covalent bonding is involved when the atoms of an element chemically combine to make their outer shells full and to make the atoms stable. The first type of bonding you can get is ionic bonding. Electrons are transferred from one atom to another to try and create full outer shells, this gain and loss of electrons on the atoms results in positive and negative ions. In these compounds you get electrostatic force, this is the force/attraction that occurs between the positive and negative ions that hold the compound together. This type of bonding takes place between metals and non metals. The metals lose electrons and form cations, whereas the non metals gain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the size of the negative ion and the charge on the positive ion both increase and the size of the positive ions decrease, the polarisation effect increases. This polar ionic bonding gives many of the atoms covalent characters. Sometimes one of the atoms become so highly polarised that they share the electrons and therefore can create covalent bonds. Covalent bonding takes place where two atoms have a single, unpaired electron in an atomic orbital; these orbitals will therefore overlap so that the two atoms are sharing a pair of electrons. The attraction that holds the atoms together is the force between the electron and the nuclei in each of the atoms. Before the atoms are bonded, the single, non bonded pairs of electrons are called lone pairs of electrons. When the atoms combine by means of covalent bonding they form molecules. Simple covalent compounds consist of many small molecules. The covalent bonds within the molecules are strong but the bondings between them to form the compounds are relatively weak, the force that occurs between them is called the intermolecular force. It takes very little energy to break these forces; therefore simple covalent compounds have very low melting points and generally appear as gases. You can also get multiple bonds; this is where atoms can share more than 2

This is based on the 80% learning curve provided by Catherine Pang from past experience, which equated to a cumulative time of 3,738 hours at $1.08 per hour. The second month will cost $5,154.84 for 4,773 hours at $1.08 per hour. The third month $5,942.16 for 5,502 hours and the fourth month will cost $6,537.24 for 6,053 hours at $1.08 per hour. I would suggest that Shuzworld definitely continue with production of their new sandal line. As can be seen from the numbers above, the labor costs do not greatly increase with substantial increase in production numbers. Reading is an intricate progression that takes shape beginning with oral language capacity, and incorporates both explicit proficiency development (phonemic as well as decoding strategies) and the use of comprehension strategies. The exact means in which these processes blend needs to be understood if educators are to identify their students needs and teach most effectively. Over the past forty years, many large scale evaluations of inquiries into the effective teaching of readinghave occurred worldwide in an effort to provide definitive and evidence based guidelines for education systems (Adams, 1990). This paper will bring together a framework containing the six major components of reading. While it is rather risky to diminish a multifaceted behavior such as reading into a small quantity of components, for the purposes of clarity and understanding, the framework is offered here as one way of manufacturing the major results of a vast number of empirical studies into the components of an effective reading program. Each of the following six components will be expanded and should provide key messages and strategies for classroom application. Oral Language The first component of Reading that we will examine will be Oral Language. Oral language provides the basis for learning to read, and is related to the students overall reading achievement during primary and secondary education. From birth, a child

Abstract: In software development, there have a complex problem is found out that object, class or similar types of data cannot be plugged in when inference miss matches. Collection framework is used to overcome this problem. A unified interface to store, retrieve and manipulate the elements of a collection is provided by collection framework. A collection framework package contains a set of interface, implementation classes and algorithm such as sorting and searching algorithm. But user cannot understand by which collection framework is worked out. However,in various way many user can understand this point such as programming language. In many papers they have used only object pattern diagram but in this paper we use object and class pattern diagram. In this paper we give an improving way of adapting of the collection framework and increase the capability of existing adapted data type. Introduction: A group element of same type can be stored by using array. But it has a fixed length which cannot be changed once allocated. Collection framework support dynamically allocated data structure. It mandates the common behaviors of all classes. A framework is a set of interfaces that force you to adopt some design practices. A well‐designed framework can improve our productivity and provide ease of maintenance. In software development signature mismatches is a problem. Recently it can be overcome in many ways such as object pattern design, class pattern design, programming

If not, how should the shortage of kidneys for transplant be addressed? First I am going to argue that that a upholding the right to self ownership should be a justification in allowing for an unregulated legal market for the transplant of kidneys from live donors. Second I will explain how the negative externality that would occur due to the existence of a new market for live kidneys, would create a decrease in the welfare of society through behavioural effects in other similar markets. I will counter this argument by explaining that there would be an overall net gain in utility received by a variety of agents in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such as the way others view them as virtuous and vital additions to the benefit of society. The presence of a market provides the opportunity for a donor and recipient to take part in a transaction that better improves the utility of both individuals (by capturing dead weight loss) assuming they both place heterogeneous values on the kidney (e.g. the donor values his kidney at ВЈ1000, yet receives ВЈ1200 and the recipient values the transplant of the kidney at ВЈ1500 yet only pays ВЈ1200). Such an exchange would lead to a Pareto improvement in terms of utility, which is defined as the movement towards an alternative state in which no one is made worse off and at least one person is made better off; if such a state does exist. The absence of a market in this case would lead to a dead weight loss, due to the lost producer and consumer surplus (Difference between value of the good and price paid/received for it) which would have been captured were the market exchange of the good permitted. In the U.K. kidneys are viewed as market inalienable, in other words the good cannot be transferred between agents that involves an exchange of resources and can only be provided as a gift (gift alienable). I believe the shortage of kidneys available in the U.K. (6,500 people are on the waiting list for a kidney transplant) is due to the fact that the supply of kidneys is restricted to those individuals that

The world often operates on fear and it is unavoidable. This constant presence of fear means that it is important to understand how it affects humans and ask why is fear has such a major role in people s lives. William Goldingwrote Lord of the Flies as a way to explore the many aspects of human nature, including the role fear plays in our lives. Golding illustrates how boys would behave if left on an island with no adults. Near the end of the book, the boys are acting out the killing of a beast when they noticed A thing was crawling out of the forest. It came darkly, uncertainly. The shrill screaming that rose before the beast was like a pain. The beast stumbled into the horseshoe (152). The boys, led by Jack, go on to kill the beast like creature, who turns out to be Simon. This practice was soon picked up by the upper classes, and from there it progressed into the middle class, with which it is still inherently associated today (Bailey 17). Calling and dating are so intrinsically different it is hard to imagine how the transition from one to another was even made. Firstly, calling was practiced with the intention of finding a suitable husband for a young lady; whereas, in dating, this was, and still is, not the primary goal. People date because it is enjoyable, pleasant, and valuable (Merrill 62), and they thought that they could gain rewarding experiences from it. In the fifties and surrounding decades, handbooks and other books exploring relationships described dating as a fun activity in which teens are allowed to meet and mingle with many members of the opposite sex. Besides, dating allowed young people to be with each other without their parents interfering. Secondly,

  • 46. Social Satire In The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby is possibly F. Scott Fitzgerald s greatest work. It is a book that provides insightful views of the American social climbers in the 1920s. The Great Gatsby is an American classic and a wonderfully haunting work. The novel s happenings are told with the help of the consciousness of its narrator, Nick Carraway, a graduate from Yale. Upon relocating to New York, he rents a house next door to the mansion of an eccentric millionaire, Jay Gatsby who throws extravagant and lavish parties every Saturday night. Nick lives on an island across from where his rich friend Tom and cousin Daisy live. Tom is having an affair with a middle class woman named Myrtle Wilson. Unfortunately everyone knows about Tom and Myrtle s affair except for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Daisy, Gatsby and even Nick all have their own issues. The writing took me longer to appreciate but I found myself more and more immersed in it as I went on. I think the book is just incredibly atmospheric. Gatsby s materialism is an attempt to class pass. His whole life is about trying to achieve the American Dream of coming from poverty and becoming wealthy so he can socialize with the privileged. However, the American Dream is a lie, the game is rigged and the only way to move up in America is through illicit means. So, he does that. But even then, the elites never see him as an equal and he s always a guy wearing a gauche pink suit to them. That pink suit is a sign that he has money, which Gatsby needs to get in with the Long Island crowd. Tom Buchanan does not need such signs because he has the name. He s old money, so he does not have to tell people he is wealthy. Gatsby s wealth is just a component of his tragic character. He has a desire that we all have: to fit in with a desirable
  • 47. Should School Start Later Persuasive Essay What time do you get up to get ready for school? Do you wake up at the last minute and have to rush? Some people may say that school starts too early, and in all reality it does. Students minds are never fully awake at eight a.m.. They may not give themselves enough time to eat breakfast. May not be getting enough sleep. Maybe they don t have a ride. Are the teachers even ready? If school started an hour later would there be as many tardies? Pushing the starttime back an hour may be beneficial for students and teachers. Some kids are not able to drive themselves to school. Whether it be they are out of gas, no car, or not even eligible to drive. If they were to wake up late, and miss the bus, or other transportation, it may take them a while to get to school. Whether they have to walk or whether they have to find someone else to take them. Either way they will most likely be late, and miss class time. If school were pushed back an hour it would give them enough time to make it to class on time. No excuses. You may think that if they do it with this time, that they will do it if changed too. In all reality they can wake up at the same time and not be rushed to get to school. Also have time to eat breakfast, and maybe find another ride. Say that they were to wake up at seven fifty. That would give them enough time to shower if needed, eat, play on their phone, and get to school. Allowing them to be on time to their first hour class, and be able to chat with friends before
  • 48. The Manchurian Candidate by Johnathan Demme Essay The Manchurian Candidate, Johnathan Demme directed the remake. Both films portray paranoia, mind control, and conspiracy. Frankenheimer utilizes satire, humor, and symbolism to convey the themes, whereas, Demme uses modern fears, camera angles and focus, and mental illness to achieve similar results. Many of the elements of the 2004 remake have been modernized. While the original movie placed the soldiers in Korea, the remake placed them in Kuwait. Demme did changed the location of the war, in order to appeal to current fears and suspicions. In 1962, the threat of communism was at the forefront of everyone s thoughts. However, during 2004, only three years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, citizens were no longer concerned about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film switches between perspectives of the ladies garden party and the communist officials to stress the comic surrealism of the situation. The calm and genteel ladies garden party is a stark contrast to the evil plotting of the communists. Image overlay as well as soft lighting are also used to convey the surrealism and dreamlike quality. The absurd way that Eleanor s husband, Senator Iselin, presents the supposed number (which he is constantly changing) of communists in the state department, satirizes the Red Scare and McCarthyism. Many of the accused communists during the red scare were merely from wild speculation caused by irrational fear and political movements to get rid of the opposition. It was also ironic that Eleanor, who had her husband present the fake number of communists, was actually the communist herself. The role of a mother is also satirized in the film. The 1950 s portrayed mothers as pure and wholesome, however Eleanor is portrayed as the evil and conniving perpetrator of peril. The remake focused on keeping the audience and Major Marco in a constant state of paranoia and uncertainty. In the original movie, the audience is shown, as well as told by the narrator, that the platoon was captured and brainwashed by communists. Whereas, in the remake, Major Marco and the

  • 50. Mitosis Vs Meiosis Research Paper Mitosis and meiosis are both types of cell divisions that have various similarities and differences. They comparably associate with cytokinesis and form daughter cells however, meiosis occurs in primordial diploid cells in animals, plants and fungi, whilst mitosis takes place in somatic cells in every organism (Vidyasagar. A, 2015). Meiosis differs from mitosisas it undergoes a process known as DNA recombination, during which genetic material interchange with chromosomes or various regions of the same chromosome. DNA recombination is a common source of genetic variation. Mitosis is the continuous process by which the body creates new cells to repair damaged or aging membranes, fibers and tissues (Clare O Connor, 2008). The end result of mitosis are two genetically identical diploid daughter cells, which develop from the single parent cell dividing. Conversely, the meiosis cell divides into four haploid gametes each possessing half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell (Alberts. B, 2010). Fertilisation occurs when the two female and male gametes fuse, causing a diploid cell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus s Contributions Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus was born around AD 70, and by the early 90s he had moved to Rome and thus begun his scholarly studies that became one of his chief occupations (Rives xviii). Here in Rome he acquired his patron and benefactor, Gaius Plinius Secundus, who had a very successful public career and was known well for his collection of letters that Suetoniusmakes his first appearance in, as an advocate (xviii). Plinius remained his benefactor for fifteen years; from his letters we can see that Suetonius had an interest in pursuing a public career (xviii) and that he had a great interest in scholarly and literary pursuits (xix). The fullest account of his scholarly works are found in a work entitled, Suda, a Byzantine encyclopedia... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is clear that Suetonius favored Augustus over the other Caesars, and in large part due this is due to his more thoughtful, and responsible use of his power and army. Yet Augustus never wantonly invaded any country, and felt no temptation to increase the boundaries of the empire or enhance his military glory... (Suetonius 53). Clearly Augustus was not greedy with his power and felt no urge or need to extend his power or to greater his military power, he valued and favored peace, fairness, and wisdom; which is clearly shown here, Even when tribes rebelled frequently or showed particular ill faith, Augustus most severe punishment was to sell as slaves the prisoners he took... (54). The two faults in which we condemned most strongly in a military commander were haste and recklessness (56). This thoughtfulness and wisdom earned Augustus high honor in Suetonius report in regard to his Military skills. In sharp contrast to Augustus; Caligula had an urge for war, a desire for it to happen if you may. The prosperity of his own reign, he said, would lead to it s being wholly forgotten, and he often prayed for a great military catastrophe.., (162). He once, at the realization that the chance for war were slim to none for him, ordered a few German prisoners to be taken across the Rhine and hidden in the trees, after lunch his scouts
  • 52. Barbara And Patricia Grimes s Case Of The Missing Woman As... In 1956, on December 28 Barbara and Patricia Grimes went to see an Elvis Presley movie called Love Me Tender and they never made it back home. Their mother, Loretta Grimes first knew something was wrong when they didn t show up before their curfew like usual and the didn t show up at all. Loretta then sent her other daughter, Theresa and her son Joey to the bus stop to watch for them. Theresa and Joey went home after three buses stopped and there was no sign of Barbara or Patricia. Loretta then started to contact family, friends, and the police for any signs her two missing daughters. Run Aways At first the police suggested that the two girls had run away or was at a boyfriend s house. Loretta knew her girls wouldn t do that because they didn t bring any extra cash, change of clothes, and they had left their favorite Christmas presents at home. Loretta also told the police that the two girls did not have any reason to run away. Patricia who was three days shy of her thirteenth birthday was excited for the party and they were both happy girls. It took a week after for the police to start treating the case like a missing persons case. Missing Persons After the police made their statement about the two missing girls, the city went into a frenzy. Leads started pouring in from everywhere which left both the police and Loretta confused. It seemed as though everyone had spotted the two girls. A school friend of the two girls saw them at the theater and sat with them during the movie. A bus driver named Joseph Smok said he saw the girls get off of his bus at Archer and Western, the bus stop where Theresa and Joey went to wait for them. A security guard named Jack Franklin said that he offered them directions on December 29, the day after they went missing. None of these leads had any proof behind them until on January 1, the two girls were identified on another CTA bus but the clue ended there. During the following week, more leads came pouring in. A night clerk said he refused to give the girls a hotel room on January 2 and employees at a Kresge department store said that the thought they saw the two girls listening to Elvis Presley songs.
