I saw many teams come together to win the competition. On Saturday, January 9,

should be able to hold a certain amount of bags with marbles in them. The team

pollution caused by the increased number of visitors to the Milwaukee County Zoo

English ability is gradually becoming more compulsory for various jobs as an
international lingua franca because of globalisation (Silver, Hu and Iron, 2002:81).
In this globalising world, the English Education in Japan (EEJ) has been censured
since the turn of the century (Kikuchi and Charles, 2009:173). The biggest failure is
communicative language skill. For example, people who graduated from high school
cannot easily have daily talks in English though they have learned it for a minimum
of 6 years before (Hosoki, 2011:199). In addition, the TOEFL score in Japan is the
fourth lowest out of thirty one Asian counties (Appendix1), and the speaking score in
Japan is the lowest of them (Education Teaching Service, 2017). These failures are
described as the result of poor English education.
Although much research about failures in EEJ has been done, there is little
research to compare with other countries. In this research, EEJ will be compared
with Singapore and South Korea Singapore, which rank higher in the world s
largest ranking of countries by English skills (Ef.co.uk, 2017). The aim of this
research is to address factors that contribute towards poor English in Japan and to
discover solutions by analysing education systems in Singapore and South Korea.
Firstly, EEJ will be analysed in terms of its failures. Secondly, the strength of the
education in Singapore and South Korea is to be analysed. Lastly, this research will
provide some solutions as to how Japan can implement these findings in the English

Every person is uniquely different than another individual and this even includes
their type of writing style. Now this leads me into my story of a girl who use to
struggle with reading and writing. She is uniquely different than the rest and has
gone on a great journey to where she is today. By looking at her today you may not
know that in grade school she was in Title 1 to assist her with reading and writing.
Allison Gion joined Speech and this helped her immensely. Her writing is very

The positive influence I have in the community is my commitment to serve others in
any possible way. For instance, apart from my, per diem job in the pre op
department at Trios health hospital as a certified nursing assistant. I commit time as a
volunteer in the pre op unit assisting the staff. Ranging, from bringing patients in to
the department, keeping track of the surgery schedule and assisting family during
their stay at the hospital. I appreciate every minute I get to volunteer and assist the
many patients we receive in the hospital. I enjoy helping others no matter their age,
