Graduation Essay
Crafting a graduation essay about oneself is a challenging endeavor that requires a delicate
balance between self-reflection and objective analysis. At its core, the task demands a deep
exploration of personal growth, accomplishments, and lessons learned throughout the academic
journey. The difficulty lies in avoiding self-indulgence while authentically portraying one's
experiences and achievements.
To begin with, there's the challenge of maintaining a coherent structure. It's not just about
narrating a series of events but weaving them together in a narrative that captivates the reader's
attention. The need for introspection makes it a psychological maze, as one navigates through
memories, acknowledging strengths, acknowledging weaknesses, and conveying personal
growth.
Moreover, the risk of veering into clichГ©s looms large. Expressing the significance of
graduation and its impact on personal development often involves using language that has been
employed countless times before. Striking a balance between uniqueness and relatability is a
perpetual tightrope walk.
Then there's the matter of introspection and vulnerability. It's not easy to delve into personal
struggles, failures, and moments of doubt. However, a compelling graduation essay requires
honesty and authenticity, making it necessary to confront and share those aspects of one's
journey.
Additionally, the pressure to stand out can be overwhelming. The academic landscape is
saturated with stories of triumph and adversity. In this sea of narratives, carving a distinctive
niche that sets one apart is a formidable task. It involves not only reflecting on personal
experiences but presenting them in a way that resonates with a wider audience.
In conclusion, writing a graduation essay about oneself is no small feat. It involves navigating
the intricacies of self-reflection, avoiding clichГ©s, maintaining authenticity, and standing out
amidst a sea of narratives. It's a task that demands a balance between humility and confidence,
introspection and storytelling. However, with perseverance and a keen sense of self-awareness, it
is possible to craft a compelling narrative that celebrates the journey from academia to the next
chapter of life.

Technological Advances In Golf Essay
Golf is an amazing sport and has been around for a long time. People around the
world enjoy playing it. This essay is about the history of golf, the technological
advances and the rules of golf. Technological advances have changed the game of
golf. The rules are the foundation of golf. Also people are learning the history of golf
everyday. Golf is a sport that people can play in different countries so, they can enjoy
golf everywhere.
The history of golf started in 100 BC when the Romans were playing with bent
sticks and leather balls. It wasn t called golf back then, it was called paganica. The
origin of the modern game is traced back to Scotland in the 15th century. Also in
1457 golf and soccer got banned by the Scottish because it interfered with archery
practise which was necessary for national defences. Then in the 15th century, the
government allowed the Scottish people to play it again. In 1724, they made real
golf balls out of feathers instead of leather balls. Also in 1848 the gutta percha ball
was introduced. It was a solid ball made up of dry sap of a sapodilla tree and then the
sap was put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Gospel, A Son Of God And A Riddle Essay
I do not agree with Jonathan Z. Smith s definition, particularly I do not like the
word a riddle. The words Gospel, a son of God and a riddle in his definition outstand
to me, and I think these words are the key of his definition. Thus, it is important to
understand what these words meaning is.
What is Gospel? The people usually think the Fourth Gospel that Matthew, Mark,
Luke and John, and it is all about Jesus. In the ancient Hellenistic time, the Gospels
were regarded as biographies of Jesus (Boring, 508). If Jonathan Z. Smith
represents a son of God as Jesus in his definition, I do not think the Gospel is only
the story of Jesus, a son of God. While Jesus appears in every scene of Gospel,
Jesus himself is not the main object of the Gospel. But I acknowledge that Jesus is
the important character in the Gospel because God reveals himself through Jesus,
and Jesus reveals himself as the Christ (Boring, 509). Boring said that the structure
of the Gospel is not talking about Jesus s life, but it is who Jesus is in the plan of
God (Boring, 510). Dr. Smith s definition seems like only focusing on Jesus as a son
of God. However, I would like to emphasize God and God s work through Jesus the
Christ in the Gospel rather than Jesus as a son of God. If only focusing on Jesus,
we can easily miss God s works in the believer s life and the community in the
Gospel. And also, it is easy to think Jesus as only human being. I believe that Jesus, a
son of God, cannot be explained
My Best Friend For Adving My Life
The question is, How could I ever repay my best friend for saving my life?
December 29, 2016, is a day I will never forget. Although it was a horrific day, it is
a part of me. It makes one think about self worth after something like this has
happened to them. It takes courage to talk about something like this, but this is the
day my best friend saved me from getting taken advantage of. One word can save
someone s life, and one person can make a difference. Pain demands to be felt, and
on this day, it was definitely felt. My mom was very cautious and worried when it
came to staying the night with my aunt, only because of the neighborhood they
chose to live in. The neighborhood was very dangerous at night. It would not
surprise people if gun shots go off at night. I thought I was safe because my uncle
always locked the door at night, and he was very respected in the area. Little did I
know, I was sleeping in the same house as a predator. My cousin was up around
five in the morning because he was playing the play station, and the sound of
basketball shoes and basketballs bouncing had woken me up, so I turned back
around and went back to sleep. Looking back at it now, I wish I would not have
woken after I had gone back to sleep, but I did. That Thursday morning, my aunt
waved goodbye as she walked out the door heading to work. I was feeling kind of
nervous because I had never been alone with my uncle before. I remember my aunt
saying, Uncle Travis will bring you to Glass Tax after TJ and Pinky left. I wasn t
worried, so I went back to sleep. I finally woke up for the final time around nine
thirty in the morning. Not only was I fixing to be alone with my thirty one year
old uncle, but I also did not have a phone to contact anyone, so I was using my
aunts iPad. In a situation where one has no control, they must continue being brave,
strong, and faithful. Fear struck over me making my entire body numb. I was
starting to feel anxiety run over my body as I realized my uncle started to hit on me,
making me feel really uncomfortable. It was all fun and games until he started taking
it literally. We were sitting on the recliner couch, having a conversation, and he
started to talk inappropriately. I would record
William Mckinley And The Civil War
Born in 1843, William McKinley was raised in Ohio under a family that had strong
ties to the Whig Party. The first notable events that occurred during his life were
during the Civil War. During the Civil War, McKinley began writing papers. He was
able to have one of his papers published that stressed how important the Union s
cause was. This letter was published. Later he met his lifelong friend, Major
Rutherford Hayes, who would motivate and influence him throughout his life. After
the war McKinley served in an attorney s office in Ohio. The year after this, he
applied to and was accepted to Albany Law School. After a year of studies he
moved to Canton where established a small office and met his new partner, George
W. Belden, a prominent lawyer and former judge. It was here that William McKinley
began giving political speeches. He spoke on the behalf of Hayes, thus showing his
first true step in the world of politics. Soon after, he became a prosecuting attorney
in Stark County, Ohio. This was an outstanding accomplishment because the
prosecuting attorney was almost always a Democrat. Finally, McKinley decided to
campaign for his spot in Congress. All of the previously stated events were used to
prepare McKinley for his tenure into the House of Representatives in 1877. In
October of 1877 William McKinley took his spot in the House of Representatives.
Unfortunately for him, the Democrats were in power of the House of Representatives
when he entered the House. This
Superman Vs Star Wars
I am a nerd. I always have been and always will be. I love playing video games
where a little Italian plumber becomes a knight in shining armor as he has to save
his sweet princess. I love sitting on the edge of my seat as I watch adventures take
place in a galaxy far far away. I don t party, play sports, or find enjoyment in
gambling my money away with fantasy football; it just isn t my thing. I much rather
spend Sundays watching a young queen take back her kingdom alongside her three
dragons. I rather go on long banters for hours at a time with my friends as we talk
about why Batman can hands down beat superman in a fight or what Star Wars

A Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Of Nebraska Deq, The Papio...
Due to results from a sanitary sewer evaluation of the Nebraska DEQ, the Papio
Branch water treatment plant s (WTP) must place a permanent flow meter at the site
of the discharge point where flow is outputting to the reservoir.
The discharge (decant flow) flow in the pipe varies from continuous to intermittent
through the 10 inch gravity ductile iron pipe that is a free fall discharge into the
reservoir. The discharge point is a concrete headwall where the Doppler wave meter
will be placed permanently.
A temporary Teledyne Isco 2150 flow meter was placed at the site of the discharge
for a period of 24 hours to determine the performance of a meter at the site as well as
evaluate current flow conditions. The temporary metering was ... Show more content

Figure 2: Teledyne Isco Signature Flow Meter Diagram
The basics needed in order to install the area velocity signature meter are the meter
module, a cable, probe, band, screws/mounting devices, power supply, and outputs.
The prices listed below are quotes from a Teledyne Isco sales representative.
Signature Area Velocity flow meter system: starts at $3,700 o This includes the
meter, the sensor, a 32.8 foot cable, a manual, and a pocket guide. The price may
change if other options are added.
Sensor carrier for attachment to the mounting rings: $50
Spring Ring for a 10 inch pipe: $91
8 foot power cord: $25
Analog 4 20mA output with two channels: $310
Internal seven digit mechanical totalizer: $115 o Total (minimum for all listed
options): $4,291
If the pipe has silting or ragging issues, then a Laser Flow Meter should be used
instead of the Area Velocity meter. The Laser Flow meter is a non contact Doppler
meter that provides all of the same information as the area velocity meter without
having a sensor in the water. The benefit of this would be if the pipe has ragging
issues or there is a lot of silting/debris that could potentially get stuck on the probe
and cause the probe to not read the way it should be. This is a much more
expensive option it would provide data without the worry of silt/debris or ragging of
the pipe getting in the way. Costs for this type of meter are listed below.
Signature Laser Flow meter system: starts at $9,750 o This includes

Statement of Problem
The following three issues were the main problems in Levendary:
1.Louis Chen, Levendary s hand picked president unwillingness to follow to the
company s direction and reporting status. This problem stems up from how he was
introduced to the business. Leventhal gave him abroad latitude to execute his plans in
establishing a strong market position as a base franchise outlet throughout China.
2.Reporting system was adopted from U.S Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
which was not a suitable practice for the growing China market.
3.For a whole year, no senior executive had visited China to see what Chen was
doing. Lack of supervision could have caused Chen to set his rules and how to
operate the China market.
Decisions
1.The most important decision to take on this problem will be to ensure:
2.There are documented cultural competent management reporting system that will fit
in many cultures including China.
3.Lavendary should have more formal hiring process with set regulations to avoid
more cases similar to Chen s case.
4.The failure to supervise Chen for a whole year can be corrected by ensuring that
the company has executive and CEO meeting regularly so that important decisions on
The Legacy Of The Thirty Years War
The Thirty Years War was an enormous conflict the likes of which Europe had
never seen before. It was a war that destroyed millions of lives. It would be almost
300 years before another European war would be so destructive to the populace. The
war started much simpler than it ended. Long before the end of the war both sides
were exhausted. Despite this, it would take three major treaties to end this
international conflict. These were: the Peace of Augsburg, the Peace of Prague, and
the Peace of Westphalia. These three treaties addressed pressing issues in the Holy
Roman Empireand Europe such as religious tolerance, Catholic Church property,
the sovereignty of states, and the loyalties Protestant Princes owed to the Catholic
Holy Roman Emperor. The only successful treaty: the Peace of Westphalia had a
great deal of influence on European and eventually global politics and peace deals.
This great treaty was a nail in the coffin of the Holy Roman Empire. The conditions
created a weak Emperor and more autonomous German leaders. The end of the
Holy Roman Empire would bring on a new, modern, unified German Empire in the
1800s; First, the Peace of Augsburg was actually the conclusion of an imperial diet
in 1555. It was meant to bring a temporary peace and coexistence of Christian faiths
in the Holy Roman Empire. There had already been a war between the Emperor and
some princes at this time over religion. The Emperor wanted a quick fix to avoid
another war. The document states
Andrew Carnegie s Life During The Progressive Era
During the Progressive Era there was a lot of horrible things happening. There
were people that didn t try to make it easier to live at this time. Those people didn t
care who they hurt or took over to get what they wanted to get more money.
Andrew Carnegie is a robber baron and that means he will do whatever is
necessary to be on top. He was born November 25, 1835 in Dunfermline United
Kingdom. when he was 16 he had a friend in scotland and they wrote letter to each
other. Carnegie wrote to him a lot about different things. They discuss how their two
countries were so different in the way that it handles different issues. at that time he
was so good at writing letters that he wrote for the newspaper. When Carnegie was
younger he had to

Case Study Of Matt Lauer
NEWPORT BEACH Viewers missing Matt Lauer on the Today Show. With 4.7
million people waking up to Matt Lauer s face on the sunny Today Show there has
been breadcrumbs about his previous sexual encounters. For some time, America s
love affair with the young, handsome news reporter seemed as if he could do no
wrong because we loved who he was. High profile men like Matt Lauer must be
shocked with women coming out and having any strength. Starting at the beginning
of his journey at NBC newsin 2001 he already had a sexual relation with an office
employee. Already at the very beginning of the career Lauer was starting his sexual
harassment reputation. That wasn t the only sexual encounter he has had with
employees. In 2014 at the Sochi Olympics he had inappropriate conduct with
another employee, yet another one. Many years later and he still proceeds to
participate in inappropriate sexual behavior with his colleagues. How many
instances does it take before it becomes serious? Lauer proved it wasn t a serious
issue in his opinion when in 2016 Meredith Viera found sex toys in his dressing
room that he gave to a woman working in his office. Having Viera find the sex toy
and later having a colleague report about Lauer giving her a sex toy was proof that
it wasn t just for his wife who he has been married to the whole time working at
NBC News. But then again woman have no power so it s okay for men to treat them

The American Colonists
The American colonists saw them self s just as common folks in King George III
eyes. They figured by trading with Britain they can all just be in peace. (So they
thought) In this time period, they did not have banks and they had little money so
Colonists used credit to get the things they needed from the other colonies. When
they came to America, Britain wanted to control expansion into the western territories
after the French and Indian War. To do so, King George issued the Proclamation of
1763 prohibiting settlements beyond the Appalachian Mountains. Pushing everyone
who hand already settled down on that side to move back over to were the rest of the

Coles Myer Corporate Structure
Corporate Structure
Introduction
Corporate structure is the way in which the parts of a corporation are put together.
Corporations usually have several strategic business units (SBUs). These SBUs are
also called strategy centers, strategic planning units, or independent business units
(Jain, 1990, p.17). Kotler (1997, p.71) states that an SBU is a single business or
collection of related businesses that can be planned separately from the rest of the
company. An SBU can be a company division, a product line within a division, or
sometimes a single product or brand (Kotler et al., 1998, p.35).
A corporation and its SBUs have structures that must be understood before a

Novel Windflower- Western and Eskimo Culture
In the novel the WINDFLOWER, there is a presence of two different cultures the
western culture and the Eskimo culture. In history, we as the readers know that
aboriginals were cruelly treated and the western people tried to assimilate their
culture. Interestingly, the author, Gabrielle Roy decided to portray a part of the
Eskimos in the novel, WINDFLOWER, as assimilated to create conflict with minor
characters. The more notable characters that have been shown to defy the western
cultures was only Uncle Ian and Winnie. Even still, many of the Eskimos are shown
to believe that the western culturewas the more dominant belief. The effect this had
was that the interactions shown with the minor characters and Elsa. To touch on how
the Eskimos thought that the white culturewas superior and many had already
assimilated is shown in a subtle touch provided by the first chapter that showed
how accepting the Eskimos were to the close proximity of the whites. In page 6,
the author writes, Nowadays they wore short dresses of flowered cotton, over
which floated sweaters as shapeless as sacks , The effect of something as petty as
clothing may not seem like much but it contains a larger effect than one would
expect. These clothes originated from western culture, if the whites were not present
the Eskimos would have been perfectly content with what they had parkas and pretty
sealskin boots of former times (Pg 6). This can infer that the Eskimos already had a
mindset of the western
The Important Role Of Patriarchy In The Father Of God
Actor and father Billy Dee Williams once said, I think I m a good father. As a
parent, you have the responsibility to create a foundation for your children so that
they can meet all the challenges. As the patriarch of the family God commands them
to care for and nurture a child in the way they should go. Merriam Webster Dictionary
defines the word patriarchas One of the scriptural fathers of the human race or of
the Hebrew people. When a patriarch completes his fatherly role, he ensures that his
children feel loved and well cared for. If a father does not take care of his children,
it can often lead to hardships for the children as they deal with an absent father.
Patriarchy in a familyatmosphere holds significant importance in its everyday role as
it can dictate how it affects the rest of the family.
Men in charge of their home have numerous responsibilities when it comes to
guiding their offspring. Fathers need to encourage their children while still
correcting and refining them. One of the important jobs of the patriarch is to lift
others up. 1 Thessalonians 2:11 12 describes a father as exhorting everyone and
encouraging them in their walk with God (ESV). God s command for patriarchs to
encourage a child in the way they should go in a manner worthy of Him remains one
of the top roles of a father. Another significant role of a father is to discipline like it
describes in Proverbs 3:11 12, My son, do not despise the Lord s discipline or be
weary of his reproof, for
Television And The American Public
News and information create many multi billions dollar businesses; in fact, Forbes
estimated that Fox brand is worth $11.2 billion dollar. It also reported that Fox has
an average of prime time viewers of 1.83 million which is more than CNN,
MSNBC, and other news agencies combined. (The World s, n.d.) Fox often
appears to cater to the conservative Americans while CNN and MSNBC seem to be
more appealing to the moderate and liberal ones. The American public is so
polarized today that it generates the idea that if you are truly a conservative, you
should only watch Fox since both CNN and MSNBC are labelled as left wing
brands. Meanwhile for the liberal Americans, CNN and MSNBC seem to be the main
sources of information since Fox is deemed biased, judgmental, and not sensitive
enough on the left wing issues.
The polarization of the American public has played an important role in labelling
each news agency. In return, each news agency offer biased and opinionated
perspectives on most important issues sometime without facts, just to please and
reach its target audiences. One of the most prominent issues as of late is the fact that
the United States had just shipped $400 million dollars, in cash to the Iranian
government earlier this August. (Labott, Gaouette, Liptak, 2016) The event had
launched a public outcry and the Obama Administration was seen as weak and
incompetent as a result. While numerous news agencies offered their versions and
contrasting perspectives to steer the

delivered and where the kings of Thebes seek solutions for the people s torments.
Oedipuss fatal flaw is that by seeking to fulfill his duty as king and his own natural
curiosity he has learned too much about himself.
These closing lines follow the same general path as the play itself. First it regresses
to Oedipus s cleverness and strong leadership of Thebes, reminding the audience of
the great king he had been before his fall.
Dwellers in native Thebes, behold this Oedipus

In class, we ve talked about how Aristotle viewed the tragedy as the way in which
the average Athenian could feel horrific and extreme emotions they could not in
their daily lives, so they could leave feeling cleansed. Oedipus Rex would infect its
spectators with a sense of dread of the inevitable reveal to Oedipus of his true
parentage. People like to feel dread in their entertainment. As they say everyone loves
a good trainwreck, they love them even more when they can see them coming. ...

They knew that what they were walking into. They knew that Oedipus was the
killer he sought. They knew that he had married his mother. They knew that the
blind prophet Tiresias was telling the truth. For the audience, this play is waiting
game a slow horrific reveal. When they see Oedipus presented in the first act of the
play as a wise and noble king, they know they re going to watch his family, his
kingdom, and very sanity be torn asunder. They re watching an ancient Titanic. They
know the iceberg is coming, they re just waiting for those on the ship to see it too, so

A Short Note On Diabetes And Type 2 Diabetes
Thesis statements
Sugar is the extremely common item in people s lives. However, only few people
know the true thing that hides behind its sweet. When people eat too much sugar
everyday, they will have high sugar level and cause their bodies do not have enough
insulin to digest the sugar. Then, they might have diabetic disease.
Introduction
Diabetes
There are two types of diabetes: type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes
is a disease that doctor can not predict or prevent. People still can produce insulin
after they eat cake, cookie or drank soda. It occurs when immune system attacks the
pancreas and damages the cells that produce insulin(Living with diabetes 11).
However, the chance of having type 2 diabetes is affected by ... Show more content on

Type of sugar
Carbohydrates, glucose and fructose are the three types out of the various types of
sugar that contains in daily food. Carbohydrates exist in sugar and starches. Also,
carbohydrates can identify in two types: simple sugar and complex carbohydrates.
The difference between simple sugar and complex carbohydrates is simple sugar
will be broken down quickly by the body(Living with diabetes,67 68). Glucose is
absorbed by the pancreas, which produces insulin to balance the sugar levels and
then turns it into energy for human s bodies.(Banks, Ice cold trouble: do the risks
of soda outweigh the refreshment? ) Fructose is the type of sugar that is usually
found in fruit and sweeteners. It does not help to produce insulin and it has more
negative effect on human body. Additionally, it does not make you feel full and
people will keep drinking the sweet stuff. The fructose that people eat will directly
go into the liver which is the primary organ that digest it. The liver will turn the
fructose into a specific form of fat and store it in the liver and release it into the
bloodstream. In addition, the fructose breaks down in the liver just like alcohol and
it will have some similar effect like alcohol. (Diane, Fructose: friend or foe? ) Thus,
do not trust the sweet mask of the sugar. In fact, it will cause a bad disease called
diabetes.
Effect of soda
Soda has great effect on human s body. A regular soda has high sugar which consists
of cheap corn syrup. There
Singapore Armed Force And Manpower Using The
Defense...
Introduction:
Singapore Armed force is the military arm of the Total defense of the republic of
Singapore and acts as the military component of the Ministry of defense. It
comprises of three services like Republic of Singapore navy, the Singapore army and
the Republic of Singapore Airforce. Recently, the technology advancement in
Singapore armed force plays a significant role in all the services. There may have
some challenges and opportunities of using technology for the Singapore Armed
forces.
Singapore armed force reduces manpower:
Certainly, there are several ways to cancel the thirty percent of the drop out in the
manpower. By leveraging on defense technology as the force multiplier, this makes to
offset the manpower (Loo, 2013). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cutting edge:
SAF will have to move closer to the cutting edge and effective technologies which
optimize the global arms market. The transforming phase of technological innovation
makes cutting edge ineffective. Although there are some indications of
countermeasures to optimize technology. It even moves more to the global cutting
edge of military technology requires spending more amount of money. The SAF use
the technology as force multipliers and particularly in the place of C4I integration
which makes to operate its different units in an incorporated manner. The Navy, Air
Force, and Army are interrelated through the advanced data links and networks to
make coordinated attacks and support for several forces. Technology is the essential
factor in the SAF transformation into 3rd generation fighting force.
The SAF recognize that technology is significant for reducing the limitations of a
small population of Singapore. It has one of the largest defense budgets on the Asia
Pacific regions where Singapore emphasized to maintain the spending on superior and
sophisticated weaponry. The experimentation and research help to create
technological edge where the SAF had rudimentary capabilities. It is one of the
largest employers of scientist and engineers in Singapore. SAF tends to make
considerable resources to defense research and development and the experimentation.
The education system of Singapore has created national servicemen who tend to

flower that saved her mother s life. Mother Gothel wanted the powers for eternal

Okonkwo Unsuccessful Father
In Things Fall Apart , the author Chinua Achebe uses the character Unoka, who is
Okonkwo unsuccessful father, and Ikemefuna, who was Okonkwo s adopted son,
to make Okonkwo a sympathetic character. Okonkwo has a lot of hatred towards
Unoka so he puts a lot of effort to be the complete opposite of his father whereas
with Ikemefuna he had created a strong bond and cared about him more than he did
with his own son.
Okonkwo has shown to be strong character who has made it a mission to be
anything like Unoka. Therefore, ever since Unoka died he has had to work hard to
distinguish himself from his lazy father. According to Okonkwo, Unoka failed as a
man and because of this Okonkwo did not have the start in life which many young
men usually had.
Negotiations in India
Introduction
The Negotiable Instruments Act was enacted, in India, in 1881. Prior to its
enactment, the provision of the English Negotiable Instrument Act were applicable
in India, and the present Act is also based on the English Act with certain
modifications. It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and
Kashmir. The Act operates subject to the provisions of Sections 31 and 32 of the
Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. Section 31 of the Reserve Bank of India Act
provides that no person in India other than the Bank or as expressly authorised by this
Act, the Central Government shall draw, accept, make or issue any bill of exchange,
hundi, promissory note or engagement for the payment of money payable to bearer

Government can make or issue a promissory note expressed to be payable or
demand or after a certain time. Section 32 of the Reserve Bank of India Act makes
issue of such bills or notes punishable with fine which may extend to the amount of
the instrument. The effect or the consequences of these provisions are:
1. A promissory note cannot be made payable to the bearer, no matter whether it is
payable on demand or after a certain time.

Important Scene In Ex-Machina
The popular film Ex Machina is about a young programmer that is selected to
participate in a ground breaking experiment in artificial intelligence by evaluating the
human qualities of a good looking female A.I. robot. The three important characters in
the film are Ava, Caleb, and Nathan. Ava is the beautiful A.I. robot, Caleb is the
young programmer that was brought into an isolated research facility in the
mountains, and Nathan is the CEO of the research facility with Kyoko, a young
housemaid. Nathan chose Caleb to visit and evaluate the A.I. robot Ava and
administer the Turing test on her. The Turing test is a test of a machine s ability to
exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human.

Afterwards, Nathan becomes intoxicated from drinking and passes out. Caleb
secretly steals Nathan s key card while he was asleep, sneaks into Nathan s
computer, and enters the observation room. Caleb then finds footage on Nathan s
computer which reveals that Nathan has been building many female robots over a
period of time and they were all stored in cupboards. Caleb also discovers that
Kyoko, the housemaid, is an A.I. robot created by Nathan and finds out that she is a
sex slave. The first interpretation behind this scene is that it seems to be an allegory
of patriarchy, in the sense that Nathan is in control of all the female robots and that
the housemaid Kyoko is nothing more than just a servant of his. The second
interpretation behind this scene is that it perpetuates the idea of objectification of
women, in the sense that Nathan created all these female robots for his own pleasure.
The film continues to expose patriarchal expectations about the role of females, in the
sense that females are sexual objects that are
Dostoevsky s Crime And Punishment
Fyodor Dostoevsky wrote Crime and Punishment in 1866, during a time of Russian
history where there was a convergence of several different, and oftentimes
contradictory, political, philosophical, and economic ideologies. Not only was this
a period of many conflicting sentiments, it was also a time of great change, with the
Russian government implementing several reforms that changed the course of the
country forever. One such reform was the freeing of the serfs under Alexander the
II, Tsar of Russia. As progressive as this was, there was a still a major collective of
people who were still grossly underrepresented in Russian society. This group of
people are women as a whole. Women that lived in Russia during the middle of the
nineteenth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is quite clear how oppressed these women are, and how they are far from
powerful. It can also be inferred that these two characters, as well as other women
fitting the archetype of oppressed female are incapable of ever gaining power. The
representation of oppressed women in the novel is accurate, as during this time
period, there were thousands of women that were forced into prostitution or forced
to work for family members. This was due to the belief that women were inferior to
men, and thus could not hold high paying jobs that men could, instead they were
bound to do house work or do menial, freelance work such as sewing.
One quintessential role that females during that time period had to fill was that of a
mother or, more specifically, a homemaker. Women in this role were expected to be
poised, stoic, and subservient, while also being logical and selfless. The ideal wife
was totally content just being a wife and mother, and aspirations were frowned upon.
Though it may seem that they might be able to gain power through marriage to a
powerful man, that is not the case, at least as is shown in Crime and Punishment . The
two focal mothers and wives in the story are destitute, one of which was poor when
her husband was still alive. These two wives and mothers are Pulcheria Alexandrovna
and Katerina Ivanovna. Pulcheria

Operation Argo And The Killing Of Osama Bin Ladin Essay
Introduction: The Central Intelligence Agency, hereafter referred to as the CIA, is
one of the most well known and fascinating intelligence agencies throughout the
world. For the most part, when the CIA comes up in the news, it is to report that
the agency failed in doing something. This paper will analyze different successes
and failures of well known operations of the CIA. The successes that will be
analyzed are Operation Argo and the killing of Osama Bin Ladin. Operation Argo
has recently become well known due to a movie being released about the
operation. The killing of Osama Bin Ladin is probably the most popular case that
the CIA had completed due to its significance in a time when the United States was
quite vulnerable. This paper will review these two successes of the agency and
analyze how these missions were successful and why. The two failures that will be
discussed are the attacks on September 11, 2001 and the Bay of Pigs Invasion. The
attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 are crucial to the American people and
to the Intelligence Community. It is important to analyze these attacks in order to
figure out what, if anything, could have been done differently that may have
prevented these attacks from occurring. The Bay of Pigs Invasion is an infamous
failure of the United States as well as the CIA in which many mistakes were made.
The CIA plays an essential role in the safety of the United States and its people. Due
to its high importance, it is crucial to
Futuristic Rights In Blade Runner
Futuristic Rights Manmade beings were created as slaves for humanity. These beings
are called replicants. Blade Runner, a science fiction film set in the future, brings up a
question about the replicants humanity and their rights. As the replicants are able to
think as a human would and seem to feel emotions like a human, their rights are hard
to acknowledge. Created to fulfill the will of mankind, they only know a life without
choices and opinions. This causes them to have certain desires that seem very
humanistic in nature. All though they possess humanoid characteristics, replicants
have a shorter life span than humans. This drives the plot of the film as some
replicants hunt down their creators to try and make themselves more human while
others do not even realize they are replicants. Pris and Roy are a couple that works
together seeking their creators so that they do not have to die in the measly sum of
four bleak years. Rachael is a female replicant who does not know that she is a
replicant until Decker, a man in charge of hunting down and killing the replicants,
tells her that she is not human. Replicants should be allowed minimal human rights
due to their ability to think, feel, and reason as a human would.
With emotions acute to humanity, replicants grieve and feel compassion. Throughout
the movie, the replicants clearly show their feelings. The strongest among the
emotions portrayed by the replicants are fear, grief, and compassion. Fear is shown
while they
A Common Story Told Around Halloween
A common story told around Halloween is the tale of the Headless Horseman.
Within the past century, both Disney and Hollywood have given their views on the
classic tale. Disney holds most of the original concept of Irving s tale than the Tim
Burton s movie. However, the changes in the bridge scene, the concept of the
characters, and the horseman takes valuable meaning away from Irving s timeless
classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
In Irving s original and Walt Disney view of the bridge scene was the same. The
legend according to Brom Bones, after a person that is chase crosses the bridge. The
Headless Horseman would not chase the person any longer. Ichabod took the advice
and it did not turn out well for him, the next morning in place of Ichabod was a
pumpkin. Yet, the Tim Burton version was much different, on how the bridge scene
played out. The scene took place at the church, in this case, the Horseman could not
cross the fence. The Horseman thought outside of the fence to kill his next target,
Van Tassel. So the Headless Horseman takes a piece of fence and throws it throws it
through the church window. With these two differences in one scene, there is room
for the characters to flex to meet the needs of the changes. Irving s and Disney s
description of Ichabod Crane different to that of Tim Burton. The first instance is
the description of Ichabod s appearance. His head was small, and flat at top, with
huge ears, large green glassy eyes, and a long snipe nose,
Causes Of Early Jamestown
Jamestown is now known as the very first permanent English settlement in the
New World. However, from 1607 1610, early Jamestown constantly hovered right
above the line of failure from reasons both outside the settlement and within its
borders. Three main reasons the Jamestown colonists died were because of their
lack of preparation, poor relations with the Native Americans, and the location of
their settlement. Many Jamestown colonists died because of their lack of
preparation. According to the information video, a group of English investors
called the Virginia Company paid for this voyage to Jamestown in return for
reaping some of the riches collected by the colonists. This idea was widely
influenced by the Spanish becoming extremely rich from their successful trip to
the New World. In addition, Document A states, that ahead lay possible riches for
the English men to find. The Englishmen originally did not plan to stay in
Jamestown; the reason for sailing to Jamestown was to find gold quickly and
return to England to hopefully become as rich as the Spanish. Furthermore,
Document C notes that, out of the first supply of men, 43% of the men were
gentlemen, who are people defined as a being of wealth not used to working with
his hands. In comparison, only about 11% of the original settlers were laborers.
This proves that the majority of men lacked actual skill for finding any gold at all,
and that there was no way the crew was prepared for this voyage. In addition,

Rotenone is considered one of the most recent approaches used in PD induction. PD

By chronic infusion of Rot to Lewis rats, it causes systemic inhibition of Complex I

Love Collection Research Paper
Love is the key to collecting anything be it antiques or beanie babies. When you
love the things you collect, you feel a passion that encourages you to spend your
money, time and energy adding to and caring for your collection. Begin your
collection with pieces you love. The first step to collecting is to find something you
love and wantto surround yourself with. A healthy and inspiring collection is one
you will want to live with for years to come. The exact nature of your collection is
up to you. Choose art or furniture of a particular period or style or select an item
that is representative of meaning in your life. Consider collecting teddy bears like
the first one your mother gave you or elephant figurines after one sparked your
interest at a flea market. You might have to take a look around your home and find
that a collection has already started. Look for the things you love then build your
collection around them.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now that you have selected the pieces that will begin your collection it is time to
start researching. Visit websites and gather reference books with the details and
history of the items you want to collect. Remember that collections don t have to
have value to anyone other than the collector. You might choose to collect
inexpensive items that speak to you or items of higher value. Talk to the experts.
When and if your collection begins to have some value it s time to talk to the
experts. Listen to their advice. Through them you can learn what value is
reasonable for items you want to add to your collection. They can also help you
discover the most common flaws found in fakes or copies of the types of items you
Challenging Society Through Art.
Challenging Society Through Art
Art makes a statement, it is as simple as that. The most preferred type of art emotes
happiness to the viewer throughout all of history. Yet, throughout the years, artists
have come to challenge society s preference of art. Artists like Gustave Courbet,
Francisco Goya, and Ai Weiwei, who decided to take the challenge and start a new
progression. Social critique through art is blatantly shown throughout each of their
pieces: Stonebreakers, The Third of May 1808, and Sunflower Seeds. All three are
similar yet different. Through comparison, a similar theme still remains present: Each
artist s social critique through their artwork. These particular types of artwork will
show how one moment in history changed the view of millions throughout centuries
of time. With the use of symbolism, positioning of figures, historical context, color
usage, and many other elements, these three works of art make an inspiring statement
to the world.
The first painting, Stone Breakers by Gustave Courbet depicts two males that go to
work breaking stone and wearing torn and tattered clothing. This job was usually
done by the lower classes of society. At this time in France there was a rising of
revolutionary thinking. The reason for the sudden outbreak involved many factors,
the ones portrayed in this painting are the demands of the working classes. The
figures are not arranged in the typical way. Both the young and the old males are
turned away from the viewer.
Safeway Supermarket Consumer Behavior Audit
Safeway Supermarket Consumer behavior audit
1. Introduction Safeway Supermarket is a highly popular chain of supermarket stores,
located in the United States and Canada through more than 1,600 stores. The first
store was created in 1915 and its business model revolved around the creation of
customer value, through the maintenance of a low profitability margin. Today, the
same model drives the operations of the Safeway Supermarket chain and ensures the
success of the company (Website of Subway Supermarkets, 2012). Today however,
the market conditions have changed dramatically, and the sustained success of the
supermarket chain depends directly on a multitude of forces, one of the more
important of them being the satisfaction of the customers. In such a setting then, the
current project sets out to conduct an audit of the customer behavior and, as such,
generate valuable information to further support the future decision making process
at the organization.
2. Consumer behavior audit The audit of the customer can generically be conducted
through a multitude of methods, each one selected due to its ability to best serve the
scopes of the commenced effort. At this level, the audit of the customers would be
completed through a combination of marketing tools, namely segmentation,
positioning and the marketing mix product, price, place and promotions (Net MBA,
2010). Finally, a conclusion would be drawn relative to the overall level of customer
satisfaction.

In MP3 the bit rate of compression remains unchanged and cannot be varied while in
OGG Vorbis the compression bit rate can be varied according to your requirements.
Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and Thompson Multimedia developed the MP3 while the
Viph.Org Foundation created OGG Vorbis.
So between MP3 vs. Ogg Which Should You go for?
Now that you know the difference between the two formats which one is best for
you?Owing to its early introduction into the world of file sharing, MP3 became
tremendously fashionable. Its recognition is based on the reality that the phrase
MP3 was synonymic with Compressed audio. The word MP3 is often used by
some people to mean any aural file. On the other hand, the OGG Vorbis file format
is increasingly becoming trendy among developers due to its better quality sound
and free for all code base. Nowadays, the hardware and toy makers are employing
OGG Vorbis in the encoding of their audio files to evade MP3 patent problems and
attain well organized compression. Though, most of the portable music players or
MP3 players do not support the format of OGG Vorbis. The game development
industry highly favors the OGG Vorbis format as it has been significantly used in

Analysis Of Frankenstein And The Island Of Dr. Moreau....
Throughout history we have had times of innovation and creation, we have tried to
control nature and have succeeded in some aspects, however; humans are not truly
sovereign over nature, and we have never achieved a perfect creation. In both
Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, and The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G Wells, man s
creation ends up destroying them which essentially symbolizes that man cannot truly
act as a godbecause he will surely fail in a catastrophic manner, almost as if man is
being punished for acting as a false god; it is also shown in both stories that the
creations that man makes are attempts to manipulate and master nature, and we see
that whenever man even slightly gives up his control it can lead to unforeseen,
almost cataclysmic consequences. These ideas are most clearly displayed by H.G
Wells in The Island of Dr.Moreau, because Moreau believes that he is above nature
and can control the wild instincts of the beast men, and he also displays himself as a
god to the beast men. In Frankensteinthese ideas are more implicitly shown. H.G
Wells does a better job overall of displaying these ideas In The Island Of Dr.
Moreau as it is more explicit when showcasing these ideas. One of the main ideas
that is common to both of the novels is that when man takes the role of a creator or
deity upon himself that he fails catastrophically, almost as if man is punished for
this. In The Island of Dr. Moreau, it is apparent that Moreau created the beast men so
he could rule

The Mayor of Casterbridge
1.Discuss the ways in which Hardy has raised awareness of social issues in the
readers of The Mayor of Casterbridge.
The Mayor of Casterbridge written by Thomas Hardy in 1884/85 reflects upon the
Progression of Modernism during the first half of the 19th century English society
that was progressing in a difficult transition from a pre industrial Britain to modern
Victorian times. Much of the action and plot in Hardy s novel The Mayor of
Casterbridge takes place during the years surrounding 1846. These were the years in
which traditionalists took their last stand before being defeated in the name of
progress. Hardy undoubtedly and repeatedly illustrates in his novel the problems of
everyday life and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He even punishes an employee for his tardiness.
I don t want to hear it! roared Henchard. Tomorrow the wagons must start at four,
and if you are not there, stand clear. I will mortify thy flesh for thee! But let me
clear up my points, your worshipful Henchard turned away. He asked me, and he
questioned me, and then a wouldn t hear my points! said Abel, to the yard in general.
Now, I shall twitch like a moment hand all night long to night for fear o him !
Farfrae however, takes a more contemporary approach by instilling respect in the
employee by justice.
I don t care what Mr. Henchard said, nor anybody else! Tis simple foolishness to do
this. Go and dress yourself instantly, Whittle.
Farfrae resolved the issue efficiently and with justice, which is illustrative of his
modern attitude toward an employee reprimand. The contrasting views on business
ethics held by Henchard and Farfrae are illustrative of the contrasts between tradition
and modernization.
Another obvious social issue that runs through the books is the question of
superiority and dominance. Henchard starting of as a simple yet ambitious man
climbs the hierarchal pyramid of society into a potion as the Mayor of Casterbridge.
But when his time has come to step down from the seat of power and dominance he
is unwilling to come to terms with it and step down from the position and let Farfrae
take over.

Swot Analysis Of Dillard s
There are many retail giants that have had an active presence on the market for
sometime. A few that come to mind are JCPenny, Macy s and Nordstorm s.
However, one major retail chain that has spread across the country was started
right here in the state of Arkansas. Dillard s first department store was opened in
1938 in Nashville, Arkansas by its founder William Dillard. Since its inauguration,
Dillard s has turned into one of the more prominent retailers in the United States.
With an ever growing market base and clientele, Dillard s has seen successful since
the early 1950s. This success, however, leaves people with a few questions about
the Arkansas native retail giant. What does Dillard s current market look like? How
does Dillard s compare... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once again Dillard s finds itself shrinking in comparison on sheer market size.
Compared to Dillard s 300 stores in 29 states, JCPenny has over 1,000 locations
across the United States and in Puerto Rico. This provides much contest for Dillard
s as JCPenny is a store often seen across the mall from them. With so many stores
across the nation Dillard s was able to keep it close in the gross income
department. JCPenny only reported a gross income of 4.0 billion dollars in 2015,
compared to Dillard s 2.15 billion dollars. This boasts well for Dillard s and the
quality of their merchandise. Retail conglomeration s have been extremely
influential since the early 20th century and Dillard s is no different. From their
small beginnings in Nashville, Arkansas to their impressive influence in 29 states
across the union, Dillard s has become a mainstay of quality retail. Even when they
are outnumbered by the competition, Dillard s seems to be able to hold their own.
This would me Mr. William Dillard proud and does him great honor in continuing his

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE NARCISSIST WHEN THEY ARE YOUR
CHILD?
One topic in the field of Narcissistic Personality Disorder that I have found is not
written about often is the narcissistic adult son or daughter. Many people have written
to me over the months asking how they should deal with their toxic children who
have shown them time and time again that they have no respect for their parents.
Nothing the parent does is ever good enough. Some believe the world owes them a
living. They threaten to withhold contact with grandchildren unless their ever
increasing demands are met. How do you deal with this type of toxicity when this
young person is someone who you have brought into this world?

Over valuing as a child

4. Abuse in childhood
The cause is most likely complex with the possibility of more than one factor being
at the root of this disorder.
No matter how well meaning your intentions are, your kindness, attention,
compassion, forgiving nature, none of it is ever going to be good enough. They
have an endless list of people who they believe have done them wrong, treated them
unfairly, not loved them enough and sadly you are probably at the top of that list.
They hold within themselves, a fragile self esteem and a profound fear of
abandonment. They won t acknowledge their fears and their subsequent rages will
remind you of their childhood temper tantrums. Do you give in to this childish
behaviour and give them what they want?
To give into their demands will simply invite more of the same. They will blame
you for their behaviour. It s a result of what you did or didn t do when they were a
child. You will start to believe them and think that your parenting skills were
somewhat lacking. Don t be blackmailed or held to ransom by their behaviour. They
are adults now and need to learn accountability. They are no longer your

1. As Exhibit 1 shown, I first calculate the predetermined overhead rate, which is
$15.57 per direct labor hour. And I distributed the dollar amount to different
proportion based on Direct Labor hours to get the overhead cost. Sum the overhead
and direct cost to get the total cost; this will be the total cost of producing a batch of
beerlabel. Therefore, we need to divide them up by the bottle per batch in order to
know the cost per each bottle for each label.
As shown in Exhibit 2, I have determined the allocation rate of each cost driver, and
that will allow me to assign them to different cost pool; base on the activities.
Adding up all the number I assigned, will give me the overhead cost for each label of

How Important Did Edwin Chadwick Improve Public
Health In...
How important was the role played by Edwin Chadwick in improving public health
services in towns in the nineteenth century? (16 marks)
Edwin Chadwick s hard work produced a mass of evidence supporting public health
reforms. In 1842 his report that was published ( Report on the Sanitary Conditions of
the Labouring Population ) influenced the government and persuaded people that
reform was needed. His report s recommendations were the basis for the 1848 Public
Health Act.
However, Chadwick did have a few limitations along the way. His report in 1842 did
not lead to immediate reform. The Public Health Act came 6 years later in 1848 and
this act did not force councils to reform public health. His personality antagonised
people and did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The core of the project was completed by 1865 but because it was such a big
project, it took another 10 years to complete. He made sure the system had a much
higher capacity than was needed in the 1860s.
Other than this, there were other factors that helped improve public health such as
the role of the government. In 1867, working men in towns were given the right to
vote and this meant the number of voters doubled which increased again in 1884
and this mean politics changed drastically. In the 1870s/1880s many new laws were
passed which were designed to improve the lives of ordinary people such as the
Public Health Act in 1875.
Another factor which helped improve public health was chance. The timing of the
1848 Public Health Act was the result of the latest epidemic of cholera. As cholera
spread across Europe in 1847 fear grew in Britain of many thousands of deaths to
come. Therefore the government finally followed Chadwick s recommendations
and passed the Public Health Act in the hope that this would reduce the impact of
cholera. However, the 1848 Act was not compulsory. Only 103 towns set up local
Boards of Health. Many more did not, and the National Board of Health, set up to
oversee reforms, was abolished after only six years in 1854.
The Great Stink in 1858 occurred in the summer which was really hot and this
resulted in the smell from the river growing worse. This added to the evidence that

Abnormal Behavior In Ancient Greece
Historians who have examined the unearthed bones, artwork and other remnants of
ancient societies have validated that these societies regarded abnormal behavior as
the work of evil spirits. People of prehistoric societies believed that all events
around and within them the results of the actions of magical, sometimes sinister,
beings who controlled the world. In particular they viewed the human body and
mind as a battleground between external forces of good and evil. Abnormal
behavior was interpreted as a victory by evil spirits and the cure for such behaviors
was to force the demon out of the body through exorcism. During the 5th and 3rd
centuries B.C.E., the Greeks changed the way that psychological disorders were
viewed. The philosopher
Dental Implants Research Paper
Smoking and dental implants do not go hand in hand. In fact, individuals who
smoke and choose to obtain a dental implant find they are at higher risk of infection
following oral surgery and the oral surgery recovery time increases. These are only
two things a smoker must be aware of when it comes to choosing the appropriate
option for replacing a missing or failing tooth. However, individuals should not be
surprised by this, as smoking has been shown to have numerous negative health
effects. Why do dental professionals feel it is so important to share information
regarding the risks associated with dental implantsand smoking?
First and foremost, smoking can lead to a person being declared a poor candidate for
dental implants. The nicotine

According to the FAA s definition of delay, there will be delay cost only when
arrival rate is 59 planes per hour and the delay time is 60.5 15=45.5 min. This
definition appears less reasonable, because it ignores the delay cost when the
arrival rate is either 50 planes per hour or 55 planes per hour. According to the
diagram in the attached Excel, The flight arrives or departs more than 10 minutes
should be defined as delay.
c. Based on your analysis, do you believe peak period pricing, by reducing arrival
rates during period of heavy demand, might represent and effective means of reducing
the costs of over scheduling? I believe that peak period pricing will be effective
means of reducing the costs of over scheduling. As we can see in the calculation
above, the delay cost dramatically increase when arrival rate increases.

Michael Patton s Utilization-Focus Evaluation
H. Stanley Judd once quoted, A good plan is like a road map: it shows the
destination and usually the best way to get there. Since evaluation is judge on the
uses of its findings it is important to know where to start and where to end. The goal
is to help the readers understand how evaluation is judge, how to utilize the findings
and the lasting impact on those who were part of the evaluation.
Summary:
My essay looks at Part 1 of Utilization focus Evaluation , through the eyes of author
Michael Patton, who believed that Evaluation is done for and with specific intended
primary users for specific, intended uses (2009, p.36). It presumes that evaluations
are judged by their utility and use. Evaluators should carefully consider how
everything affects the use. The term use is defined by how people apply findings and

Patton supported his claim with adequate evidence throughout the reading. The
author strongly suggests that evaluation should never be done independently, but
primary intended users should be allowed to sit at the table to help make decisions
that would influence the intended use. One example was the welfare to work
program exercise where internal evaluators met to discuss the finding of their
evaluation. It is clear that no primary intended users were identified and little
thoughts if any were given to how the evaluation results would be used. For Patton,
the number one priority to good evaluation starts with primary intended users who
input can help guide the evaluation from the start to the finish. In contrast, Brandon
W. Youker, author of Goal Free Evaluation: A potential Model for the Evaluation of
Social Work Programs believed in a goal free evaluation, whereby evaluators should
make observations, and measure any outcomes intended or unintended without any
knowledge, goals or even

Adulthood has consistently been shaped owing to the experiences and know how
learned in childhood, specifically from the central people and events during this time
period. Hughes s semi autobiographical novel, Not Without Laughter, tells of the
journey into adulthood of Sandy, who is constantly exposed to oppression and
racism through his own experiences and those of his many family members. It
follows his attempts to better himself for the sake of his family and the community.
Sandy s development throughout the novel is shaped by the lessons he learns with

When Harriett says that she hates white people for mistreating and abusing her, Hager
just tells her not to hate them and let love and prayer make them better. She tells
Harriet, Honey, don t talk that way, Broke in Hager. It ain t Christian, chile. If you

an I been knowin white folks all ma life, an they s good as far as they can see but
when it comes to po niggers, they just can t see that far, that s all (Hughes 86).
This gives Sandy insight on the idea of praying for the better, which is one way of
finding change for the oppression he faces. Although this is a good sentiment, it
only gives Sandy a view of somewhat outdated ideals. Hager s coping strategy is
more of a pacifist way of going about things, which is fine for the time and
experiences that she has faced, but Sandy takes this in as a past strategy which he
does embody in some ways, although he also recognizes that this is not the only way
and that he should not be satisfied with only this. He also sees this sort of
contentment in the present state of his

Graduation Essay. 001 High School Graduation Essay Example High20school Thatsnotus

  • 1. Graduation Essay Crafting a graduation essay about oneself is a challenging endeavor that requires a delicate balance between self-reflection and objective analysis. At its core, the task demands a deep exploration of personal growth, accomplishments, and lessons learned throughout the academic journey. The difficulty lies in avoiding self-indulgence while authentically portraying one's experiences and achievements. To begin with, there's the challenge of maintaining a coherent structure. It's not just about narrating a series of events but weaving them together in a narrative that captivates the reader's attention. The need for introspection makes it a psychological maze, as one navigates through memories, acknowledging strengths, acknowledging weaknesses, and conveying personal growth. Moreover, the risk of veering into clichГ©s looms large. Expressing the significance of graduation and its impact on personal development often involves using language that has been employed countless times before. Striking a balance between uniqueness and relatability is a perpetual tightrope walk. Then there's the matter of introspection and vulnerability. It's not easy to delve into personal struggles, failures, and moments of doubt. However, a compelling graduation essay requires honesty and authenticity, making it necessary to confront and share those aspects of one's journey. Additionally, the pressure to stand out can be overwhelming. The academic landscape is saturated with stories of triumph and adversity. In this sea of narratives, carving a distinctive niche that sets one apart is a formidable task. It involves not only reflecting on personal experiences but presenting them in a way that resonates with a wider audience. In conclusion, writing a graduation essay about oneself is no small feat. It involves navigating the intricacies of self-reflection, avoiding clichГ©s, maintaining authenticity, and standing out amidst a sea of narratives. It's a task that demands a balance between humility and confidence, introspection and storytelling. However, with perseverance and a keen sense of self-awareness, it is possible to craft a compelling narrative that celebrates the journey from academia to the next chapter of life. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other writing tasks, various resources are available, including online writing services likeHelpWriting.net. • 2. Technological Advances In Golf Essay Golf is an amazing sport and has been around for a long time. People around the world enjoy playing it. This essay is about the history of golf, the technological advances and the rules of golf. Technological advances have changed the game of golf. The rules are the foundation of golf. Also people are learning the history of golf everyday. Golf is a sport that people can play in different countries so, they can enjoy golf everywhere. The history of golf started in 100 BC when the Romans were playing with bent sticks and leather balls. It wasn t called golf back then, it was called paganica. The origin of the modern game is traced back to Scotland in the 15th century. Also in 1457 golf and soccer got banned by the Scottish because it interfered with archery practise which was necessary for national defences. Then in the 15th century, the government allowed the Scottish people to play it again. In 1724, they made real golf balls out of feathers instead of leather balls. Also in 1848 the gutta percha ball was introduced. It was a solid ball made up of dry sap of a sapodilla tree and then the sap was put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. The Gospel, A Son Of God And A Riddle Essay I do not agree with Jonathan Z. Smith s definition, particularly I do not like the word a riddle. The words Gospel, a son of God and a riddle in his definition outstand to me, and I think these words are the key of his definition. Thus, it is important to understand what these words meaning is. What is Gospel? The people usually think the Fourth Gospel that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and it is all about Jesus. In the ancient Hellenistic time, the Gospels were regarded as biographies of Jesus (Boring, 508). If Jonathan Z. Smith represents a son of God as Jesus in his definition, I do not think the Gospel is only the story of Jesus, a son of God. While Jesus appears in every scene of Gospel, Jesus himself is not the main object of the Gospel. But I acknowledge that Jesus is the important character in the Gospel because God reveals himself through Jesus, and Jesus reveals himself as the Christ (Boring, 509). Boring said that the structure of the Gospel is not talking about Jesus s life, but it is who Jesus is in the plan of God (Boring, 510). Dr. Smith s definition seems like only focusing on Jesus as a son of God. However, I would like to emphasize God and God s work through Jesus the Christ in the Gospel rather than Jesus as a son of God. If only focusing on Jesus, we can easily miss God s works in the believer s life and the community in the Gospel. And also, it is easy to think Jesus as only human being. I believe that Jesus, a son of God, cannot be explained
  • 4. My Best Friend For Adving My Life The question is, How could I ever repay my best friend for saving my life? December 29, 2016, is a day I will never forget. Although it was a horrific day, it is a part of me. It makes one think about self worth after something like this has happened to them. It takes courage to talk about something like this, but this is the day my best friend saved me from getting taken advantage of. One word can save someone s life, and one person can make a difference. Pain demands to be felt, and on this day, it was definitely felt. My mom was very cautious and worried when it came to staying the night with my aunt, only because of the neighborhood they chose to live in. The neighborhood was very dangerous at night. It would not surprise people if gun shots go off at night. I thought I was safe because my uncle always locked the door at night, and he was very respected in the area. Little did I know, I was sleeping in the same house as a predator. My cousin was up around five in the morning because he was playing the play station, and the sound of basketball shoes and basketballs bouncing had woken me up, so I turned back around and went back to sleep. Looking back at it now, I wish I would not have woken after I had gone back to sleep, but I did. That Thursday morning, my aunt waved goodbye as she walked out the door heading to work. I was feeling kind of nervous because I had never been alone with my uncle before. I remember my aunt saying, Uncle Travis will bring you to Glass Tax after TJ and Pinky left. I wasn t worried, so I went back to sleep. I finally woke up for the final time around nine thirty in the morning. Not only was I fixing to be alone with my thirty one year old uncle, but I also did not have a phone to contact anyone, so I was using my aunts iPad. In a situation where one has no control, they must continue being brave, strong, and faithful. Fear struck over me making my entire body numb. I was starting to feel anxiety run over my body as I realized my uncle started to hit on me, making me feel really uncomfortable. It was all fun and games until he started taking it literally. We were sitting on the recliner couch, having a conversation, and he started to talk inappropriately. I would record
  • 5. William Mckinley And The Civil War Born in 1843, William McKinley was raised in Ohio under a family that had strong ties to the Whig Party. The first notable events that occurred during his life were during the Civil War. During the Civil War, McKinley began writing papers. He was able to have one of his papers published that stressed how important the Union s cause was. This letter was published. Later he met his lifelong friend, Major Rutherford Hayes, who would motivate and influence him throughout his life. After the war McKinley served in an attorney s office in Ohio. The year after this, he applied to and was accepted to Albany Law School. After a year of studies he moved to Canton where established a small office and met his new partner, George W. Belden, a prominent lawyer and former judge. It was here that William McKinley began giving political speeches. He spoke on the behalf of Hayes, thus showing his first true step in the world of politics. Soon after, he became a prosecuting attorney in Stark County, Ohio. This was an outstanding accomplishment because the prosecuting attorney was almost always a Democrat. Finally, McKinley decided to campaign for his spot in Congress. All of the previously stated events were used to prepare McKinley for his tenure into the House of Representatives in 1877. In October of 1877 William McKinley took his spot in the House of Representatives. Unfortunately for him, the Democrats were in power of the House of Representatives when he entered the House. This
  • 6. Superman Vs Star Wars I am a nerd. I always have been and always will be. I love playing video games where a little Italian plumber becomes a knight in shining armor as he has to save his sweet princess. I love sitting on the edge of my seat as I watch adventures take place in a galaxy far far away. I don t party, play sports, or find enjoyment in gambling my money away with fantasy football; it just isn t my thing. I much rather spend Sundays watching a young queen take back her kingdom alongside her three dragons. I rather go on long banters for hours at a time with my friends as we talk about why Batman can hands down beat superman in a fight or what Star Wars movies were better, the prequels or the originals and sometimes things can get heated but it s because
  • 7. A Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Of Nebraska Deq, The Papio... Due to results from a sanitary sewer evaluation of the Nebraska DEQ, the Papio Branch water treatment plant s (WTP) must place a permanent flow meter at the site of the discharge point where flow is outputting to the reservoir. The discharge (decant flow) flow in the pipe varies from continuous to intermittent through the 10 inch gravity ductile iron pipe that is a free fall discharge into the reservoir. The discharge point is a concrete headwall where the Doppler wave meter will be placed permanently. A temporary Teledyne Isco 2150 flow meter was placed at the site of the discharge for a period of 24 hours to determine the performance of a meter at the site as well as evaluate current flow conditions. Figure 2: Teledyne Isco Signature Flow Meter Diagram The basics needed in order to install the area velocity signature meter are the meter module, a cable, probe, band, screws/mounting devices, power supply, and outputs. The prices listed below are quotes from a Teledyne Isco sales representative. Signature Area Velocity flow meter system: starts at $3,700 o This includes the meter, the sensor, a 32.8 foot cable, a manual, and a pocket guide. The price may change if other options are added. Sensor carrier for attachment to the mounting rings: $50 Spring Ring for a 10 inch pipe: $91 8 foot power cord: $25 Analog 4 20mA output with two channels: $310 Internal seven digit mechanical totalizer: $115 o Total (minimum for all listed options): $4,291 If the pipe has silting or ragging issues, then a Laser Flow Meter should be used instead of the Area Velocity meter. The Laser Flow meter is a non contact Doppler meter that provides all of the same information as the area velocity meter without having a sensor in the water. The benefit of this would be if the pipe has ragging issues or there is a lot of silting/debris that could potentially get stuck on the probe and cause the probe to not read the way it should be. This is a much more expensive option it would provide data without the worry of silt/debris or ragging of the pipe getting in the way. Costs for this type of meter are listed below. Signature Laser Flow meter system: starts at $9,750 o This includes

This problem stems up from how he was introduced to the business. Leventhal gave him abroad latitude to execute his plans in establishing a strong market position as a base franchise outlet throughout China. 2.Reporting system was adopted from U.S Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) which was not a suitable practice for the growing China market. 3.For a whole year, no senior executive had visited China to see what Chen was doing. • 9. The Legacy Of The Thirty Years War The Thirty Years War was an enormous conflict the likes of which Europe had never seen before. It was a war that destroyed millions of lives. It would be almost 300 years before another European war would be so destructive to the populace. The war started much simpler than it ended. Long before the end of the war both sides were exhausted. Despite this, it would take three major treaties to end this international conflict. These were: the Peace of Augsburg, the Peace of Prague, and the Peace of Westphalia. These three treaties addressed pressing issues in the Holy Roman Empireand Europe such as religious tolerance, Catholic Church property, the sovereignty of states, and the loyalties Protestant Princes owed to the Catholic Holy Roman Emperor. The only successful treaty: the Peace of Westphalia had a great deal of influence on European and eventually global politics and peace deals. This great treaty was a nail in the coffin of the Holy Roman Empire. The conditions created a weak Emperor and more autonomous German leaders. The end of the Holy Roman Empire would bring on a new, modern, unified German Empire in the 1800s; First, the Peace of Augsburg was actually the conclusion of an imperial diet in 1555. It was meant to bring a temporary peace and coexistence of Christian faiths in the Holy Roman Empire. There had already been a war between the Emperor and some princes at this time over religion. The Emperor wanted a quick fix to avoid another war. The document states

  • 12. Case Study Of Matt Lauer NEWPORT BEACH Viewers missing Matt Lauer on the Today Show. With 4.7 million people waking up to Matt Lauer s face on the sunny Today Show there has been breadcrumbs about his previous sexual encounters. For some time, America s love affair with the young, handsome news reporter seemed as if he could do no wrong because we loved who he was. High profile men like Matt Lauer must be shocked with women coming out and having any strength. Starting at the beginning of his journey at NBC newsin 2001 he already had a sexual relation with an office employee. Already at the very beginning of the career Lauer was starting his sexual harassment reputation. That wasn t the only sexual encounter he has had with employees. In 2014 at the Sochi Olympics he had inappropriate conduct with another employee, yet another one. Many years later and he still proceeds to participate in inappropriate sexual behavior with his colleagues. How many instances does it take before it becomes serious? Lauer proved it wasn t a serious issue in his opinion when in 2016 Meredith Viera found sex toys in his dressing room that he gave to a woman working in his office. Having Viera find the sex toy and later having a colleague report about Lauer giving her a sex toy was proof that it wasn t just for his wife who he has been married to the whole time working at NBC News. But then again woman have no power so it s okay for men to treat them this way. For all the attention Matt

(So they thought) In this time period, they did not have banks and they had little money so Colonists used credit to get the things they needed from the other colonies. When they came to America, Britain wanted to control expansion into the western territories after the French and Indian War. Corporations usually have several strategic business units (SBUs). These SBUs are also called strategy centers, strategic planning units, or independent business units (Jain, 1990, p.17). Kotler (1997, p.71) states that an SBU is a single business or collection of related businesses that can be planned separately from the rest of the company. An SBU can be a company division, a product line within a division, or sometimes a single product or brand (Kotler et al., 1998, p.35). In history, we as the readers know that aboriginals were cruelly treated and the western people tried to assimilate their culture. Interestingly, the author, Gabrielle Roy decided to portray a part of the Eskimos in the novel, WINDFLOWER, as assimilated to create conflict with minor characters. The more notable characters that have been shown to defy the western cultures was only Uncle Ian and Winnie. Even still, many of the Eskimos are shown to believe that the western culturewas the more dominant belief. The effect this had was that the interactions shown with the minor characters and Elsa. To touch on how the Eskimos thought that the white culturewas superior and many had already assimilated is shown in a subtle touch provided by the first chapter that showed how accepting the Eskimos were to the close proximity of the whites. As a parent, you have the responsibility to create a foundation for your children so that they can meet all the challenges. As the patriarch of the family God commands them to care for and nurture a child in the way they should go. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines the word patriarchas One of the scriptural fathers of the human race or of the Hebrew people. When a patriarch completes his fatherly role, he ensures that his children feel loved and well cared for. If a father does not take care of his children, it can often lead to hardships for the children as they deal with an absent father. Patriarchy in a familyatmosphere holds significant importance in its everyday role as it can dictate how it affects the rest of the family. Men in charge of their home have numerous responsibilities when it comes to guiding their offspring. Fathers need to encourage their children while still correcting and refining them. One of the important jobs of the patriarch is to lift others up. 1 Thessalonians 2:11 12 describes a father as exhorting everyone and encouraging them in their walk with God (ESV). God s command for patriarchs to encourage a child in the way they should go in a manner worthy of Him remains one of the top roles of a father. Another significant role of a father is to discipline like it describes in Proverbs 3:11 12, My son, do not despise the Lord s discipline or be weary of his reproof, for

This was due to the belief that women were inferior to men, and thus could not hold high paying jobs that men could, instead they were bound to do house work or do menial, freelance work such as sewing. One quintessential role that females during that time period had to fill was that of a mother or, more specifically, a homemaker. Women in this role were expected to be poised, stoic, and subservient, while also being logical and selfless. The ideal wife was totally content just being a wife and mother, and aspirations were frowned upon. Though it may seem that they might be able to gain power through marriage to a powerful man, that is not the case, at least as is shown in Crime and Punishment . The most preferred type of art emotes happiness to the viewer throughout all of history. Yet, throughout the years, artists have come to challenge society s preference of art. Artists like Gustave Courbet, Francisco Goya, and Ai Weiwei, who decided to take the challenge and start a new progression. Social critique through art is blatantly shown throughout each of their pieces: Stonebreakers, The Third of May 1808, and Sunflower Seeds. All three are similar yet different. Through comparison, a similar theme still remains present: Each artist s social critique through their artwork. These particular types of artwork will show how one moment in history changed the view of millions throughout centuries of time. With the use of symbolism, positioning of figures, historical context, color usage, and many other elements, these three works of art make an inspiring statement to the world. The first painting, Stone Breakers by Gustave Courbet depicts two males that go to work breaking stone and wearing torn and tattered clothing. This job was usually done by the lower classes of society. At this time in France there was a rising of revolutionary thinking. The reason for the sudden outbreak involved many factors, the ones portrayed in this painting are the demands of the working classes. The figures are not arranged in the typical way. Both the young and the old males are turned away from the viewer.

The first store was created in 1915 and its business model revolved around the creation of customer value, through the maintenance of a low profitability margin. Today, the same model drives the operations of the Safeway Supermarket chain and ensures the success of the company (Website of Subway Supermarkets, 2012). Today however, the market conditions have changed dramatically, and the sustained success of the supermarket chain depends directly on a multitude of forces, one of the more important of them being the satisfaction of the customers. In such a setting then, the current project sets out to conduct an audit of the customer behavior and, as such, generate valuable information to further support the future decision making process at the organization. 2. Throughout history we have had times of innovation and creation, we have tried to control nature and have succeeded in some aspects, however; humans are not truly sovereign over nature, and we have never achieved a perfect creation. In both Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, and The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G Wells, man s creation ends up destroying them which essentially symbolizes that man cannot truly act as a godbecause he will surely fail in a catastrophic manner, almost as if man is being punished for acting as a false god; it is also shown in both stories that the creations that man makes are attempts to manipulate and master nature, and we see that whenever man even slightly gives up his control it can lead to unforeseen, almost cataclysmic consequences. These ideas are most clearly displayed by H.G Wells in The Island of Dr.Moreau, because Moreau believes that he is above nature and can control the wild instincts of the beast men, and he also displays himself as a god to the beast men. In Frankensteinthese ideas are more implicitly shown. H.G Wells does a better job overall of displaying these ideas In The Island Of Dr. Moreau as it is more explicit when showcasing these ideas. One of the main ideas that is common to both of the novels is that when man takes the role of a creator or deity upon himself that he fails catastrophically, almost as if man is punished for this. In The Island of Dr. Moreau, it is apparent that Moreau created the beast men so he could rule

The core of the project was completed by 1865 but because it was such a big project, it took another 10 years to complete. He made sure the system had a much higher capacity than was needed in the 1860s. Other than this, there were other factors that helped improve public health such as the role of the government. In 1867, working men in towns were given the right to vote and this meant the number of voters doubled which increased again in 1884 and this mean politics changed drastically. In the 1870s/1880s many new laws were passed which were designed to improve the lives of ordinary people such as the Public Health Act in 1875. Another factor which helped improve public health was chance. The timing of the 1848 Public Health Act was the result of the latest epidemic of cholera. As cholera spread across Europe in 1847 fear grew in Britain of many thousands of deaths to come. Therefore the government finally followed Chadwick s recommendations and passed the Public Health Act in the hope that this would reduce the impact of cholera. However, the 1848 Act was not compulsory. Only 103 towns set up local Boards of Health. Many more did not, and the National Board of Health, set up to oversee reforms, was abolished after only six years in 1854. The Great Stink in 1858 occurred in the summer which was really hot and this resulted in the smell from the river growing worse. This added to the evidence that more

One example was the welfare to work program exercise where internal evaluators met to discuss the finding of their evaluation. It is clear that no primary intended users were identified and little thoughts if any were given to how the evaluation results would be used. For Patton, the number one priority to good evaluation starts with primary intended users who input can help guide the evaluation from the start to the finish. In contrast, Brandon W.
