I thought my first day went great. I am located in Cass City at a outpatient
rehabilitation facility. My fieldwork educator (FWE) is very knowledgeable and

One of these views are that of global imbalances. On the one hand, the United States
have an extremely large current account deficit. On the other, there are countries,
especially oil exporting economies and China in particular, with large current account

Social class is an ongoing problem in education, especially for those living on the
lower end of the divide. More than one in five of Scotland s children are living in
poverty. In this essay I will consider why social class is an ongoing problem, its
influence on wellbeing and achievement, and propose ways in which we can attempt
to combat these issues. This will be accomplished with reference to concepts, theories
and the scenarios detailed in appendix A, B and C.
According to Bourdieu s highly influential theory of cultural reproduction, children
from middle class families are more advantaged in gaining qualifications due to their
possession of cultural capital (Lamont Lareau, 2011). Cultural capital can be defined
as a deeply ingrained knowledge of society s high culture and taste, behaviours,
linguistic cues and the education system. Cultural reproduction refers to the
transmission of these aforementioned cultural values and norms between the
generations. This can only be produced by family upbringing in the home (Bourdieu
Passeron, 1990). This transition enormously influences children s success in school
and later in life (Sullivan, 2001). However the distribution of cultural capital is
severely inefficient (Bourdieu and Passeron, 1977). Sullivan (2001) applied

Islam is one of the world s oldest religion with over one billion followers. There are
many groups of people that classify as followers of Islam (Esposito p. 222). One
group that does this is called Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda is a jihad group, which is an
armed struggle in defense of the Muslim community or often called terrorists
(Esposito, p. 243). This jihadgroup was created in the late twentieth century. Al Qaeda
began as a logistical network to support Muslims fighting against the Soviet Union
during the Afghan War; members were recruited throughout the Islamic world (Al
Qaeda 2016). Al Qaeda was not always bad as one can see that they were not
created as a terrorists group but to fight against the Soviet in the nineties. After the
war ended they turned into a group of Muslim that started to kill innocent people

organization dispersed but continued to oppose what its leaders considered corrupt
Islamic regimes and foreign (i.e., U.S.) presence in Islamic lands (Al Qaeda 2016).

Windshield surveys are the motorized equivalent of simple observation. They involve
the generation of data that helps to define the community, the trends, stability, and
changes that all serve to define the health of the community (Stanhope, 2012, p. 409

There s two churches; Temple Am David and Spring Green Memorial Church.

Located in the neighborhood are Pilgrim High School and Holliman Elementary
School. Pilgrim High School is a public secondary education school from 9th to
