1. Example Of Informative Essay About
Education
Crafting an essay on the subject of education presents both a challenge and an opportunity for
exploration. The difficulty lies in striking a balance between providing comprehensive
information and maintaining the reader's engagement. Education is a vast and multifaceted topic,
encompassing various aspects such as its history, methodologies, challenges, and future trends.
The challenge is to synthesize these elements into a cohesive narrative that not only informs but
also captivates the audience.
Research plays a pivotal role in overcoming this challenge. Gathering reliable and up-to-date
information is essential to present a well-rounded view of the educational landscape. However,
navigating through the plethora of resources and selecting the most relevant and credible sources
can be a time-consuming task. Moreover, the educational field is dynamic, with constant
developments and changes, requiring the writer to stay abreast of the latest trends and research
findings.
Structuring the essay is another hurdle to overcome. Balancing the introduction, body, and
conclusion while seamlessly integrating diverse information is a delicate art. It requires careful
consideration of the flow of ideas to ensure clarity and coherence. Crafting an engaging
introduction that sparks the reader's interest, followed by an informative and logically organized
body, and concluding with a strong and memorable ending, is no small feat.
Furthermore, maintaining objectivity while discussing various educational perspectives and
approaches adds complexity. The essay should present a well-informed analysis without veering
into bias or opinionated territory. Striking this balance requires a nuanced understanding of the
subject matter and a commitment to presenting a fair and objective portrayal of educational
concepts and practices.
In conclusion, writing an essay on education demands a combination of research skills,
organizational prowess, and a commitment to objectivity. It is a challenging yet rewarding task
that allows the writer to delve into the intricate world of education. The key lies in navigating
the complexities with finesse, creating a piece that not only imparts valuable information but
also engages and resonates with the reader.

2. Lab And Using The Result Of The Chemiluminescence
Reaction
In this experiment, luminol was synthesized in the lab and used to demonstrate the
result of the chemiluminescence reaction.
Introduction:
In criminal shows shown on television, almost common in every show are
investigators inspecting crime scenes. Often when we see investigators looking for
some form of a bodily fluid at a crime scene, they spray some liquid and then use a
black light over the area. If bodily fluids are present, then the area appears to glow.
The substance that they are spraying from the bottle is in fact luminol, and the glow
that is observed is from a chemiluminescent reaction. The blood illuminates because
of iron in the hemoglobin. Iron serves as the catalyst for the chemiluminescent
reaction and causes it to glow . Chemiluminescence is the release of light without heat
due to a chemical reaction. The release of light is from bonds that are broken, formed,
or restructured2. A similar process, known as fluorescence, also produces an
illumination. This chemical process on the other hand, gets its energy for light
from the absorbance and release of light at different frequencies. . Experimental

4. Army Hr Role
The Importance of the Role of the Human Resources Sergeant in the
Profession of Arms
Asking a Soldier what it means to be a professional will give a plethora of
definitions, a professional Soldier is defined as an expert, a volunteer certified in
the Profession of Arms, bonded with comrades in a shared identity and culture of
sacrifice...., (U.S. Army Combined Arms Center. Center for the Army Profession and
Ethic. United States. Army Training and Doctrine Command, 2010, p. 04). Posing
that same question to a Human Resource Sergeant should bring about the same
answer; with the exception that he or she would probably state that professionalism
is the mastery of one s skillset. The Army itself is a unique vocation, one that
requires its Soldiers to be masters of many different tasks, not all of which directly
relate to a specific skillset. However, how many actually ... Show more content on

The human resource Sergeant strives constantly for success, pushing beyond the
limits to gain knowledge in an ever evolving career field. Nothing within the role is
simple, everything changes on a daily basis, and it is up to them to stay informed.
The Army White Paper states that The Profession of Arms requires expert knowledge
(i.e. expertise), and that expertise is manifested as unique skills in the individual
professional and by Army units, (U.S. Army Combined Arms Center. Center for the
Army Profession and Ethic. United States. Army Training and Doctrine Command,
2010, p. 06). Now, if the previous quote does not relate to the role of an HR
Sergeant then what else possibly could? It is clear to see when trying to relay the
importance of the HR Sergeants role in the Army profession that even The Army
White Paper itself has some very clear
5. A Story To Write A Short Story
Sirens could be heard from all over the city. The news was on in every house,
reporters saying Convicted of robbery, Emily Stanford seen running down the
streets of New York. The last we saw her was she was heading down to the bus
stations. If anyone has any information on where she is going please call the police
station. Emily ran towards the train station desperate to get there before the police
caught up to her. She walked up to the line and waited impatiently. Every sound
made her on edge, when it was finally her turn she pulled her hood closer to her
face. One ticket for Cold Spring please. Emily said quickly, the lady in the ticket
booth gave her her ticket and directed her to the bus platform. Emily quickly and
quietly walked over to the bus and took her seat. A few hours later the bus stopped
and announced its destination, Emily got off the bus and walked quickly down
the street looking for any opportunity to get somewhere to sleep without getting
noticed. She walked past a TV shop and in the window the TV was playing. The
same news playing from earlier that day, she wished every thing would just
disappear and leave her alone for at least one day. She eventually found a small
quiet motel, she got a nice room. After she got settled into the room she got the
things she needed out of her backpack. She walked into the bathroom and got her
hair damp and applied the hair dye. While waiting for her hair to dry she did her
makeup, she covered up her freckles.
6. The Ant of the Self
The Ant of the Self
Most seventh graders know the principle that oil and water don t mix. No matter
how much the solution is shaken or stirred, the water will settle to the bottom and the
oil will rise above to the surface. These attributes describing water and oil directly
describe the relationship between Spurgeon and Ray, the two main characters in ZZ
Packer s The Ant of the Self. Spurgeon, the water and intelligent son of Ray Bivens
Jr., finds himself carrying the burden of supporting his self centered, inappreciative
father, the oil, on his shoulders. Oblivious to his son s needs as well as others in the
story, Ray tramples over the true meaning of an intimate relationship and worsens or

unites African American men so that they can rise together to show their
brotherhood and from then on work together to appreciate what they have and make
the world a better place to live in. Ray sees this march as his opportunity to make
quick cash. Not appreciative of the unity of the black man, Ray wants only monetary
gains. Once again Ray s not concerned with the world around him. Evaluating the
story at the end, I feel that subconsciously Spurgeon sacrifices his time in hopes to
catch a moment with his father that will prove to him that he really cares. For the
longest time, Spurgeon would use his debates as a way of avoiding his father,
however, this time he doesn t attend to be with his father. Spurgeon s hopes are
crushed as he realizes that he will never have a meaningful relationship. Spurgeon
isn t given any thanks for his father s bail, left alone during the march to sell birds,
physically fighting with his drunk and belligerent father and left alone to find a bus
ride home. At the bus station, Spurgeon sees a father and son enjoying their time
together and becomes jealous of what they have. Spurgeon has В…the urge to

7. Addiction To Drug And Drug Addiction During The
Holidays
For many people the holiday season is a time of celebration. However people who
are struggling with an addiction to drug or alcohol often find that the holidays are a
depressing time that s filled with denial and secrecy. People with an addiction have
trouble often have trouble enjoying themselves when the holidays arrive and they feel
ashamed of their addictionso they work to hide it from their family and friends. It s
not a very happy holiday season.
It tends to be difficult for people to admit that they have a problem. Even when
someone realizes that they struggle with addiction, it can be overwhelming and
frightening to take the step necessary to make a change and overcome the addiction.
As a result, many people simply maintain the status quo, even if it makes them and
their loved ones unhappy.
For people who are ready to take the next step and move forward with getting
treatment for their addiction, it can be tempting to wait until after the holidays to
begin treatment. Many people tell themselves that the holidays are meant to be fun
and spend with loved ones at home, not at a drug and alcohol treatment center.
Besides, they tell themselves that going to rehab can be their News Year s resolution
after the holidays. However, the team at HARP can think of many reasons why
people should actually consider going to rehab around or during the holidays.
To show you that is it a good idea to enter a treatment program for a drug or alcohol
addiction during the holidays, the

CAS theory tells us management will involve the team so they will have a better
understanding in what environment will be most effective. (p.71)
The next error according to Johnson (2009) is assuming the employees will not
reallocate work assignments based on their perception of the best arrangement even
after receiving work allocation assignment from management. (p.80) reallocating
work assignments, management should call a meeting with the team to decide what
strategies will benefit and be successful. Ignoring the speed with which the informal
organization can transmit messages and, therefore, failing to manage rumors in a
productive manner. (Johnson, 2009. p.80) Management will be alert and ready to
address a situation by staying in constant communication with others. Organizations
engaged in effective, fast decision making use just as much information as slow
decision makers but information of a different kind (Eisenhardt, 1990). The last four
errors according to Johnson (2009) I am listing below in bullets and will touch on
each one before concluding. (p.81)
В·Failing to treat the organization s dominant logic as an emergent property of the
system and, instead, treating it as something that can be imposed on the system.
Johnson (2009) states, the behavior of a CAS cannot be obtained by summing the
behaviors of the constituent parts, but emerge as the result of the pattern of
connections among diverse agents.

Is love a capability unique to humans, or are there no restrictions? And if there are no
restrictions, what determines whether that love can last? Her is a quirky, truly 21st
century story that breaks barriers by asking not who, but rather what we can love. Set
in Los Angeles in the unspecified near future, Theodore, a lonely writer in the midst
of a divorce, stumbles into an unprecedented romance with his Operating System,
Samantha. The film raises scientific, philosophical, and even moral questions, while
never straying from its true purpose, which is to examine not only the way we love,
but the way we interact with other people in a world that seems to rely more and
more on technology to function. Writer and Director Spike Jonzeinvites the audience
to have open mind and undergo an individual exploration to these questions through
the eyes of the characters. The film showcases the infusion of technology into our
lives and the challenges it creates for the way we look at the world.
The unconventional nature of Theodore and Samantha s relationship is what drives
them both together and apart. It sets limitations on their abilities as a couple, but
creates a bond that is extremely personal. The main limitation is the fact that
Theodore is only able to get to know Samantha by hearing her speak, since there is
no ability to see her or touch her. Samantha s voice is the perfect blend of innocence
and coy sexuality. There is certain rawness in the way she speaks that makes

good idea to create Doomsday in case Ben Affleck s Caped Crusader doesn t

14. Lord Of The Flies Thesis Analysis
To Be or Not To Be: Violence Among Young Boys
Thesis statement: Though people live in a civilized society, they possess the capacity
for violence. Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding, discusses this theme with
two main characters who metamorph from civil human beings to heathens, and who
distance themselves from the order of society. To begin with, Roger progressively
transforms from a mysterious boy to a barbarian over the course of civilization to
regression. Roger avoids social contact, initially, until refinement unravels among
several boys, and he gets unruly walking into the littluns sandcastle purposely after
relieving his signal fire duties. Afterwards, Roger continues bothering the kids,
more particularly Henry as he stoop[s], pick[s] up a stone, and thr[ows] it at Henry
threw it miss (Golding 62). Roger gives in to the lack of civilization on the island
by having the idea of harming a mere, young boy. However, civilization embeds a
part of him, and it prevents him from hitting Henry literally. For example, he pick[s]
up a stone (Golding 62) with the intent of using it to hurt a person since over time,
the island gradually loses its authority and order. Consequently, these boys influence
one another dramatically by their thirst to hunt or simple goal of survival. In this
case, Jack, a power hungry tyrant, barbarically impacts Roger and his viewpoints.
However, at home, society reminds Roger such actions are not acceptable, so he

15. Pros And Cons Of Probation And Probation
In the criminal justice system there are many different branches that operate
together to help form the current system we have now. This includes the probation
and parole systems. The goal of probation and parole is to bring back someone who
has become a menace to society to a person who can live a life crimefree and be a
productive member of society. These two branches however are not the same but they
act together hand in hand. Probation refers to adult offenders whom courts place on
supervision in the community through a probation agency, generally after
incarceration. However, in some cases jurisdictions can sentence probationers to a
combined short term incarceration sentence followed by probation, this is known as a
split sentence.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prisoners may be released to parole either by a parole board decision (discretionary
release/discretionary parole) or according to provisions of a statute (mandatory
release/mandatory parole). This definition of parole is not restricted to only
prisoners who are released through a parole board decision, but rather those
prisoners who are released based on provisions of a statute. Parolees can have a
number of different supervision statuses including but not limited to active
supervision, which in turn means they must regularly report to a parole authority in
person, by mail, or by telephone. Some parolees may be on an inactive status which
means they are excluded from regularly reporting, and that could be due to a
number of reasons. For instance, some may receive a reduction in supervision,
possibly due to compliance or meeting all required conditions before the parole
sentence terminates, therefore may be moved from an active to inactive status. Other
supervision statues include parolees who only have financial conditions remaining,
have absconded, or who have active warrants. Parolees are also usually required to
fulfill certain conditions and must follow specific rules of conduct while in the
community. Failure to comply with any of the conditions can result in a return to
incarceration. With these two now defined more clearly we can now assess what the
conditions of these two are. The basic textbook
16. What Is The Brand Image In Hotel
Critically evaluate the role of the brand in International hospitality management
In the international hospitality, the brand is one of the important things in the
marketing. The brand is a name, term, sign, symbol, or design, or a combination of
them, intended to identify the goods or services of one seller or group of seller and
to differentiate them from those of competitors (Lisa, 2000; American Marketing
Association, 1960) and it is a unique thing in the company and business. It is maybe
important on the role of the brand in international hospitality, the brand can make a
brand loyalty for customer, the brand image can give a great impression, but if the
brand has many brand extension, it will let the customer forget the original brand. In
this essay, it will explain each advantages and disadvantages of the role of the brand
that how to affect in the international hospitality.
The first role of the brand is brand image. The brand image is defined as the
consumer memory hide in the brand perception (Keller, 1993). It is mean how the
customers see and the impression of the brand. The company can use different ways

The brand loyalty reflects a customer s commitment to remain in a long‐term
relationship with a brand (Jing, Andrew and Sheau, 2013; Reichheld, 1996). This
loyalty can attract customer re buy and re patronize the same brand product again,
no matter of convenience or price. The brand loyalty is very important of the brand
and company, it is because when the customer decision to buy this brand, they will
often loyalty to that brand, keep buying on future, recommend to friends and choose
this product to others, even other brand have more better features or lower price
(Assael, 1991). So if no customers to support the brand, it will decrease the brand

Hinduism and Christianity Hinduism and Christianity are two religions that have
been around for thousands of years. Both religions since creation has developed
philosophies on certain subjects that can be compared and contrasted, to show the
similarities and differences within Hinduism and Christianity. Key subjects that can
be analyzed after reviewing the history and foundation of these religions are their:
paths to enlightenment/salvation, the religions treatment of women, and the afterlife.

The main deities of the Hindu religion are Brahma and his two lieutenants named
Shiva and Vishnu. The god Vishnu is the creator, and Shiva is the destroyer. One is
not looked upon as better than the other. This shows the ultimate realism that the
Hindu culture possesses. These are not the only gods in Hindu culture. There are
many others and all have special skills and talents. The gods themselves also give
birth to the idea of avatars, or the form of god when he or she comes to earth.
Perhaps the most important part of the philosophy of a religion lay in its path to
enlightenment. The main ideas of enlightenment come through the Four Ends of
Life. The first of these ends is Moksa. Moksa could be considered the realization of
separation between the spiritual self and the physical self. It is only through this
realization that one can be released from the mortal coil and allowed to spiritual
liberty. It is through Moska that the Hindu follower becomes familiar with the
existence of the spiritual world. The second of the Four Ends of life is Kama. This
end says that we must pass through life in an ethical manner that brings about the
most from life. This includes learning its great values as well as experiencing its
enjoyments. This protects the Hindu follower from shutting out the physical world
entirely. Artha is the third end and it deals with wealth and material well being. It
explains that

The factories and the mills are a mixed blessing. They drastically changed the way
we live and work, but also introduced a variety of problems. I am a female factory
worker in London. Thousands of families migrated into the city in hope of better
life and prosperity. A million people now live in London. The city has quadrupled
in size. More about urbanization?? The factories brought us job opportunities and
increased the production of goods. Inventions and ideas are still being introduced to
us left and right. Overall, the outcome from the factories and the widespread of new
ideas has raised our standard of living. However, it is mostly for the upper and upper
middle class. The upper class receives healthier diets, better housing, cheaper mass
21. Theme Of The Birds By Alfred Hitchcock
Psycho is a classic horror/thriller directed by the legendary Alfred Hitchcock made
in 1960. It followed Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), who stole $40,000 in order to be
with her lover, and stopped at the Bates Motel, owned by the psychotic split
personality Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), along the way, and is murdered by
Bates, which catalyses an investigation into Norman and his mysterious mother.
Psychoexplored in depth the psychosisof its characters and how it connected to
KГјbler Ross model of grief, and utilized filmmaking techniques, such as mise en
scГЁne and motifs, to demonstrate this characteristic of its characters.
Hitchcock demonstrated his auteurism in his use of a bird focused motif, a recurring
theme in not only Psycho but also his other works, The Birds (1963) in particular, and
demonstrated this motif through use of mise en scГЁne. Norman Bates was a hobbyist
taxidermist, and took particular interest in birds. His office was decorated with
stuffed birds of both predator and prey. In close up shots of the conversation
between Norman and Marion Crane (a bird name), Norman was often framed with a
predatory bird in a low angle shot, designed to make him appear intimidating.
Marion, on the other hand, was framed alongside prey birds in a high angle shot,
which showed her defenselessness. This filmmaking technique signified the
juxtaposition between Norman and Marion, where Marion was weak preyed upon by
the powerful predatory Norman Bates. This relationship is

The History and the Disappearance of the Anasazi Introduction: My topic is the
history and the disappearance of the Anasazi. I chose this topic because I am from
Colorado and we visited Mesa Verde on school trips. I find the Anasazi culture
interesting and doing research on them seemed like it would be enjoyable.
`The Anasazi populated the four corners area of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and
Arizona. They became independent somewhere between 200 and 500 A.D. and
disappeared 1100 years later leaving behind many remains. There are many theories
about what could have happened to the Anasazi but the speculation with the strongest
evidence is that they scattered due to drought and decreased resources. Despite their

The article Riddles of the Anasazi states Using data from tree rings, researchers
know that a terrible drought seized the Southwest from 1276 to 1299; it is possible
that in certain areas there was virtually no rain at all during those 23 years. No rain
for 23 years would be a justified reason for them to find other places to live. The
Anasazi also chopped down many trees for beams and firewood which lead to
deforestation. There is also evidence of an even longer drought from the years 1130
to 1180 which shows that they were strong enough to withstand droughts before. It
doesn t make sense for them to last through a 50 year drought then leave because of
a 23 year drought therefore it is still a mystery what caused them to leave. The
evidence isn t strong enough to know if this is why they left for certain but there is
more evidence that supports this is than any other reason for their

The Importance of Respect in John Steinbeck s Cannery Row
Cannery Row is a novel John Steinbeck wrote after World War I. At first, the novel
almost seems like a humorous book, written in a style commonly used by Steinbeck.
The book has its main plot, but also has side chapters that periodically interrupt the
main idea, which adds to the story. One would think that these side chapters are there
to universalize the book, but in fact that is not true. The side chapters tell their own
story, and they have a message that Steinbeck was clearly trying to show through his
book. The novel has a main point about respect. In Cannery Row , Steinbeck is trying
to say that respectability is the destructive force that preys on the world. Steinbeck ...

This man is very mysterious in the book and is meant to represent loneliness and
aging. A young boyin chapter four makes fun of the old china man. He felt that he
should make fun of him to keep his self respect (19). Both of these incidents
illustrate that a person may be driven to uncomfortable, frightening and even suicidal
lengths to keep up a front. These two characters were made fun of, laughed at and
branded as different. They were not respected in any way, which Steinbeck clearly
shows.
The plot of the novel begins to become clear in the next few chapters. This is where
Mack and his gang of friends are introduced. Mack and the boys were homeless;
until one day when an abandoned fish food storage house was given to them. They
loved the house for its protection from the weather. The boys put furniture, posters,
beds, a stove and even some flowers in and around their house. Their house gave
them a since of pride. In their minds they sneered at unsettled people who had no

Severtseen (1990) cited by Duxbury (2000) applies the term therapeutic
communication as the dialogue between nurse and patient to achieve goals tailored
exclusively to the patients needs. In this case dialogue is used by Mr. Comer in the
form of body language and noise to communicate his needs because of speech loss.
Nelson Jones (1990) states that facial expressions are an intrinsic way to express
emotions and eye contact is one way to show interest. The avoidance in eye contact
displayed by Mr. Comer showed his distinct lack of interest. Compounding these
factors was his facial paralysis, which made it especially difficult for me to ascertain
the exact nature of his feelings.
The nurse must be the sender and more importantly the receiver of clear information.
Patients with speech impairment or loss have a more difficult task sending the
messages they want and are sometimes unsuccessful in making themselves
understood. (Arnold Boggs 1995).
It appeared to me that Mr. Comer s cough was not only a physiological disorder
caused by his condition, but a way for him to communicate, in this case, his
displeasure. Critical analysis of this experience has pointed to the fact that I have
inadequacies in my skills, to identify covert and overt clues provided by Mr. Comer
to his needs. I had focussed too much on the presenting task to feed him,
25. Speech On Rice Gluten
Are Rice Noodles Gluten Free?
Rice noodles are staple to East and Southeast Asian cuisines. They are available fresh,
dried, or frozen, and in different shapes and thickness.
Rice noodles are made from water and rice flour. However, some manufacturers add
other ingredients like corn starch or tapioca to improve its transparency and texture,
making it more chewy and gelatinous. Some people who are concerned about their
health may wonder, Are rice noodles gluten free? Here is some information that may

27. The Franciscan Order; a Victim of Its Own Success Essay
The Franciscan movement was a religious order that arose out of one man s
ideologies and beliefs. St. Francis of Assisi s ideals of absolute poverty, obedience,
humility, and simplicity were uncomplicated and basic, but during his life and even
shortly after his death these ideologies were gradually shifting and causing a great
amount of debate. The immense size of the FranciscanOrder combined with the mass
amount of popularity that the Order gained made changes in the ideology and
objectives of Francis messages and teaching almost an inevitable necessity. Some
could argue that in many ways the Franciscan Order s original ideologies were a
victim of the movement s success. This is evident in the main rules of the Order,

Francis did not want any kind of class distinction in his Order. However, as the
priests became more in number, so did their demands for books and altars. And
lastly was the matter of study, Francis was against any kind of studying, he felt
that it interfered with the notion of absolute poverty and humility, but none of the
priest friars were open to the idea of being entirely cut off from any form of
intellectual pursuit. They argued that education was required in order to preach,
convert and prevent heresy. The sheer size of the Order, accompanied by the
feelings of many of the new members with no direct loyalty to Francis made it
nearly impossible for his followers to maintain Francis ideals and objectives while
he was still alive. New members in distance provinces had no real or physical
connection with the saint except for the popular piety that his order had evoked.
Many wanted rules within the Order changed, and with the large number of
reformers, it became more difficult for Francis to maintain the direction of the Order
he had founded. These were just the initial problems that the Franciscan Order faced,
after the death of Francis in 1226 many of the rules dealing with main ideologies
began to shift from austere to lax, and as a result there was a splitting and shifting in
the faction.
Another problem with the Order was the ideal to live a life like Christ, to be a lowly
person and

Carbolic Company claimed that there was no enforceable contract between it and
the user of the smoke ball on the grounds that there was no acceptance of the offer,
because Mrs Carlill had never notified the Company that she accepted its offer, nor
furnished any consideration. The court held that in unilateral offers, the
advertisement is an offer which was accepted by Mrs Carlill. The courts also looked
at the parties intention, such as the fact that 1000 pounds were deposited in the Bank
showed a genuine intention to create a legal relationship. There was consideration
furnished by Mrs Carlill when she purchased the smoke balls. Hence there was a

for example like the wife not being able to have children. If a wife committed

Maymuru s people lived a nomadic lifestyle, which is contrary to the central
importance of Manggalili culture to land and country . Thus his art serves to merge
their nomadic lifestyle to their clan s strong belief in connection to the land. His
practice was primarily painting on bark. This medium easily transported across the
vast distances necessary to maintain a nomadic lifestyle. Maymuru s work tells of the
movements of the ancestral beings, especially the Guwak who travel with Marrngu to
create lagoons and sand dunes of Maymuru s homelands. In order to portray these
lengthy narratives he divided his barks into schematic panels. Maymuru s paintings
are best known for their complex meaning and symbolism in which he used motifs
such as crosses to represent his ancestors stories and connection to land. Maymuru
saw art as a method to communicate ideas and knowledge to an audience outside his
community so to widen understanding of Yolngu culture and to also educate the
younger generations of Yolngu (The Yolngu are the indigenous Australian in North
Eastern Arnhem Land). In this way, Maymuru was ensuring the continuity of Yolngu
ancestral law through his artworks. Furthermore, the subject matter of Nyapililngu

depicts the spiritual landscape of his homeland Djarrakpi, the Manggalili clan domain

One type of storyline in particular is the bildungsroman plot. This is the coming to

Many people condemn Twain calling him a racist and a bigot, but little do they
know he is trying to convey a message from a realistic point of view, rather than a
romanticized point of view. Huck Finn is a country boy who gets fed up with life
at home and decides to run away and live life on the Mississippi. He takes his
friend Jim along with him. The complicated thing about it is the fact that Jim is
black. If someone spots Jim, they will turn him in as a runaway or even kill him.
Huck uses his skills of being a great con artist to get him out of many situations.
Huck learns from the way people act, the way they look, and where they are from to
work them. This all has to do with setting. For example, when he meets the
Grangerfords, he knows the are way classier and richer than him. He uses this to
assume they don t have much street smarts. He comes across all sorts of people, and
he has to retain information about the people, the land, and the personalities to
continue on with his journey. The antagonist in this novel is really a person in
particular. It is more a group of people throughout the book. Anyone that remains a
threat to Huck and Jim would be considered an antagonist. The outcome of this
book kind of lets the reader continue the story. They drop it off and make it sound
like Huck runs away again. We can assume that he ran away again for more
adventures in his travels. My third example for a bildungsroman
34. The Theory Of Folk Psychology
Eliminative materialism (eliminativism) is an ontologically radical approach that
claims that a matured cognitive science will show that mental states that common
sense takes for granted, such as beliefs, do not exist (or do not have referents).
Instead, it claims that these mental entities are theoretical terms for the false theory
of folk psychology(common sense psychology), which can be defined as the
cognitive ability to explain and predict the behaviour and mental state of other people.
In essence, the theory aims to discredit folk psychology by claiming that people will
discover that there is no neural basis to mental entities and thus, they are non existent.
I shall argue that there are significant fundamental flaws to both the arguments for
eliminativism about propositional attitudes and eliminativism about qualia
(subjective experience). For the former, I will argue that the eliminative materialist s
theory theory is flawed and show that propositions alone can discredit the position on
philosophy of mind. This will lead to identifying the position as self refuting.
Furthermore, I will show that science itself has proven simulation theory to be true so
that I can discredit eliminative materialism. For the latter, I will argue that qualia
exist due to introspection. Combined, the deconstruction of eliminative materialism
with regards to propositional attitudeand qualia will show that the materialist position
is flawed and should not be agreed with.

35. Making Causal Inferences In Psychology
Although many people believe that the only way to confidently make causal
inferences in the psychology world is through true experiments, I believe that
observational and other quasi experiments can be just as effective for making cause
and effect conclusions. One of the cardinal rules in psychology, of course, is that
correlation does not equal causation. While this is true, I strongly believe that when
certain conditions are met, we can infer causation even with nonexperimental data. I
have learned about many of these conditions in my Advanced Research Methods
textbook and completely agree with the author s opinion on this topic. Basically,
causalityhas a probabilistic meaning rather than a deterministic one. When making
causality... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this type of perspective, I believe it is fair to make conclusions about
personality as a cause of behavior (despite the fact that we cannot manipulate a
person s stable dispositions) so long as the model investigating how a trait causes an
outcome is well designed, replicated, and combined with other kinds of evidence (pg
10).
One study that might be fair to draw causal inferences from analyzed the relationship
between explanatory style and academic achievement (pg 287). In this study,
researchers found that first year college students with optimistic explanatory styles
obtained a higher GPA than students with pessimistic explanatory styles (presumably
because of greater motivation and perseverance in the face of adversity) even after
controlling for intellectual ability (with SAT scores). What makes me lean toward a
more cause effect rather than a correlational explanation is:
1.)This research is not saying that an optimistic explanatory style necessarily causes
students to earn higher GPAs, but that optimists, because of their tendency to show
greater motivation and persistence (despite times of hardship), develop strategies that
are related to higher achievement. Having an optimistic

Have you ever been so blinded by a woman that you got yourself shot and lost the

37. Russell On Denoting
On Denoting and Definite Descriptions: Russell s Puzzle Solutions In his work, On
Denoting , Bertrand Russell proposes a theory of denoting and descriptions, which he
summarizes as follows: Everything, nothing, and something, are not assumed to have
any meaning in isolation, but a meaning is assigned to every proposition in which
they occur. This is the principle of the theory of denoting I wish to advocate: that
denoting phrases never have any meaning in themselves, but that every proposition in
whose verbal expression they occur has a meaning. (480) Russell contends that the
difficulties concerning denoting are [...] all the result of a wrong analysis of
propositions whose verbal expressions contain denoting phrases (480). In... Show

In considering this puzzle, Russell first introduces the principle of the indiscernibility
of identicals (hereafter the indiscernibility principle), which states that [i]f a is
identical to b, whatever is true of the one is true of the other, and either may be
substituted for the other in any proposition without altering the truth or falsehood of
that proposition (485). That is, two identical entities can be used interchangeably in
any statement without altering the truth value of the statement in question. Russell
then sets forth the proposition George VI wished to know whether Scott was the
author of Waverly and concludes that, since Scott was in fact the author of Waverly,
one can replace the author of Waverly with Scott and thereby prove that George VI
wished to know whether Scott was Scott (485). Under the indiscernibility principle,
both propositions are true since the terms the author of Waverly and Scott are
identical and thus wholly substitutable for one another. However, while Russell
finds the first proposition to be true ( George VI wished to know whether Scott was
the author of Waverly ), Russell concludes that the second proposition, George VI
wished to know whether Scott was Scott , is false due to the fact that an interest in
the law of identity can hardly be attributed to George VI (485). Herein lies the
Substitutivity Puzzle. The

Doubting Thomas
According to Webster, Skepticism is the philosophical doctrine that the attainment of
absolute knowledge is impossible. It comes from the Greek word skeptesthai
meaning to examine, and the practice was brought about during the elementary stages
of philosophy by Pyrrho sometime between 360 270 b.c. Some other well known
skeptics are Xenophanes, Gorgias, and Sextus Empiricus. Skepticism is very common
in today s society, and is practiced in some way by all. If you are alive and

Such skepticism was useful during Pyrrho s time; if nothing was provably wrong,
one could legitimately accept the customs or religion of whoever was in power.
He also believed that each theory had it s own contradictory argument, so he

be accredited to Xenophanes, a philosopher and poet of Asia Minor. He believed
that if truth were stated. It could not be known In his writings Xenophanes cleverly
satirized the polytheistic beliefs of earlier Greek poets and of his own
contemporaries. He ridiculed their deities as gods created in the image of the mortals
who worshiped them. In a famous passage he asserted that if oxen could paint and
sculpt, they would depict gods who resembled oxen. He felt that humans should reject
polytheistic ascribing of human motivation and characteristics to inanimate objects,
animals, and phenomena and recognize instead a single non human deity underlying
and unifying all worldly phenomena. 117 A parallel to Xenophanes philosophy is
that which was expressed by Gorgias, a famous Sophist. The Sophists consisted of
experienced debaters and speech writers who popularized the ideas of various early
philosophers; but based on their understanding of this prior philosophic thought, most
of them concluded that truth and morality were

Throughout the play Medea written Euripides, an assortment of unique characters
are presented to the audience. At first glance, the characters in the play seem to
serve as the normal society in Ancient Greece. This is true to a certain degree but
Euripides intended it to be more than their standard social roles. Euripides utilizes
characters such as the all women choir, King Creon, Medea and others to convey his
perception of what is his modern but now Ancient Greek traditional values are to him
and even pushes the boundaries by breaking some of the social standards set during
his time. With a deeper understanding of the characters, the audience will be able to

The Choir s disgust of King Creon is evident in the scene where he appeared to
banish Medea from Corinth, the First Woman said I have seen this man s
arrogance, I watched and heard him. I am of Corinth, and I say that Corinth is not
well ruled. (Jeffers 12) Followed by the Second Woman saying The city where
even a foreigner, suffers unjustly the rods of power is not well ruled. (Jeffers 12)
The repeated phrase is not well ruled undoubtedly shows their displeasure under his
rule along with the Choir s constant criticism of him throughout their dialogue. The
women are also sympathetic towards Medea as would any other citizen would feel
because of the traumatic events that had just occurred to Medea. When judging
Medea s actions, no one protest more to her plots then the women, First Woman I
think you ought to persuade Medea to come from the dark dwelling, and speak with
us, before her heart breaks. (Jeffers 6) The women are attempting to persuade Medea
from her dark thoughts but to little avail because Medea ultimately commits her
revenge. Despite the women s simplistic appearance in the play, Euripides exploits
their role to represent the vast number of ordinary Greek citizens and to counsel
Medea on her actions.
Another similar role the audience will recognize is the presence of a tyrannical ruler
in the play, this role is placed in the hands of King Creon, the ruler of Corinth. King

42. Essay About Blues Music
Introduction Blues is a music genre originating in Africa .This genre emerged with
the introduction of African people as slaves to America s south. Slaves were
employed in poor conditions in the cotton fields before the Civil War. Making music
meant avoiding the pain for them. People think Blues music is slow and smooth
because the lyrics of the Bluesmusic always includes depression, loneliness and anger.
After the emancipation movement, Blues expanded to lots of states. Each states
blended their own culture with the blues and then they created their own specific
blues genres. Some of them Mississippi Delta Blues and Urban (Chicago) Blues.

Recordings which were recorded in the city was quite professional than the Delta
Blues records because in the Delta records were made in the portable studios.
Moreover the cost of studios were cheaper in the Urban. Blues artists easily
worked in the professional studios. When the Blues artist started to make more
professional recordings, they are realized by white people. Firstly they wanted to
introduce blues music to white teens. Before blues move into the North, blues
recordings only appealed to Blacks. They thought we should offer the blues to
white people. Also they sung in bands which are founded by white people. Due to
this well planned strategy, people understood that the blues is not only made by
black people or listened by black people. The blues gain considerable popularity in

on board with the fact that hurricanes can cause a lot of damage Katrina destroyed
over 800,000 housing units! So not only did we spend a lot, but Homes and
buildings like fire houses, restaurants, apartments, etc were destroyed along with
flood waters covering the streets this was a disaster! However all this destruction
was only the beginning of the recovery process. New Orleans still had a long way to
go after Katrina swept through. The legendary hurricane Katrina affected the U.S for
years to come. For instance 705 people are still reported missing and there families
are still trying to track them down. This just shows how devastating it was and how
it still is affecting families in New Orleans. Although there was one good effect
from it. The government demanded that New Orleans build category 5 proof leeves.
Not to mention that even people in places that don t get hurricanes build levees

44. Boston Massacre Causes
What lead up to The Boston Massacre? Like many disputes in history this was
caused by two things, money and honor. In the 1760 s the British Parliament
introduced a series of new taxes on the colonies to offset the cost of the Seven Year
War that had left them with crippling debt and to cover the expense of the British
Soldiers that were stationed in the U.S. With each new series of taxes that were
passed tensions among the colonists and the British heightened. In 1765 the British
Parliament issued The Stamp Act which was to be the first internal tax imposed on
the colonists. This meant that just about anything made from paper was subjected to
being taxed such as legal documents, newspapers, almanacs, playing cards and dice

48. Essay about A National Tradegy
Tragedy
In September 11th A National Tragedy, James Peck writes about how the tragic event,
September 11th has affected our world today. Peck states that tragedy is a word that
has commonly been overused by Americans throughout news articles and magazines
when a significant event happens. When referring to September 11th, the crashing of
the twin towers, this is a tragic event.
Peck states, I do know life is life and theatre is theatre (735), but we as Americans
immediately turn life events into narrations where we ourselves play the roles of the
characters and the plot is the problem that is affecting us in our life. Turning
significant events into narrations allows Americans to replay events and go over
them constantly throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The attacks dramatize the destruction and construct America as the wealthy super
power it is, clearly these attacks were criminal acts and the attackers must be brought
to justice through the Supreme Court and internationally.
The world knows America better than us Americans know of it. Through emotion
and painful events such as this one America has came to better understand itself and
the strengths that it has. America has one of the strongest military personal in the
world, allowing us to be able to react to attacks such as this one. Peck states Since
September 11th, I believe we ve been living out a national melodrama (737). A
western movie was created by President Bush Wanted: Dead or Alive casting Osama
bin Laden causing the defining moment of Americas melodrama allowing people to
be aware of the attacker by posting posters throughout the United States. America has
sent military troops over to Iraq in search of the attackers killing innocent citizen in
order to voice our opinions on this matter. The best assurance that the US will not
again be the object of comparably horrific terrorist attack is an equitable distribution
of global capital that moves wealth more evenly though out the world and generates
genuinely reciprocal forms of cultural
49. Admission Into College
It is an unfortunate reality of the 21st century that admission into college is no longer
a natural and calm transition made by young students as they enter adulthood. The
pressure of competition for academic excellence escalates rampantly throughout high
school and multiplies ten fold at the mention of standardized testing and college
applications. It leaves students nervously exhausted by the time that the thought of
college presents itself in the first place. The unfortunate reality of the American
educational system as of 2015 is that all students suffer from some degree of
admission induced anxiety because high schoolis an environment that fosters in
students an overwhelming and constant consideration for their futures, and it is part...

These thoughts in turn yield anxiety because the ingrained beliefs in the necessity of
a perfect academic track record stick in students minds. Typically, students are able
fall back on emotional support systems that they build for themselves by focusing on
their present selves and their passions in a healthy manner. It is in becoming so
focalized on securing their futures through immense effort at school that students
forget to listen to their mental needs as young adults, and they become far more
vulnerable to school induced anxiety in the absence of effective emotional support
50. Social Context In The Great Gatsby
Cultural context and social setting of The King s Speech and The Great Gatsby. I
have had the privilege to study two compelling masterpieces this year. The
enthralling novel The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald and the exceptional
visual sensation that is The King s Speech . The cultural context alludes what
aspects are relevant to the society of that world and their daily lives. I was very
intrigued when comparing both of these texts While the texts presents very
different worlds there are some striking similarities. Ultimately each text creates its
own unique universe which impacts the protagonist in a variety of ways The king
s Speech is set in England during the time period of 1925 1939. This was a very
tense period since England was still recovering from The Great War and was
leading to the Wall Street Crash in 1929.England at the time was ruled by King
George V and Queen Mary. The majority of this film was set at The Duke... Show

In The King s Speech The main protagonists are either members of the English
Royal family or a family man from the colonies in middle class. A moment of class
snobbery was availed in the film when Bertie and Elizabeth went to Balmoral
castle to attend one of David and Wallace s extravagant parties. This itself was a
red flag to the Duke and Duchess since the royal family doesn t throw such
informal and decadent parties since they too respected and classy for events like
that. Elizabeth s short wit and tempered and vivid when Wallis greets them
informally and acted as if everything was hers. This was evident in the mise en
scene showing her close up with the expensive chandelier overhead. Elizabeth
rudely brushed her off then stated I was invited on behalf of the king . Afterwards
her and Churchill discussed how a commoner like her couldn t marry David. This
proves the class snobbery that is present in The King s
51. Human Security And National Security
Too often, the notion/concept of national security is misinterpreted and made too
narrow. It s a common belief of many that national security only entails the protection
of states borders from outside threats. In recent times, this seems to not be the case,
since the dangers that states faces now threatens the life of the individual, therefore,
protection of the citizens, their wellbeing, and the laws of the land becomes a priority
which links it or makes it human security. States like the US are adjusting their
foreign policies to fit this new human security as national security approach. Also,
with the world becoming a small global village, states are using less military force
to settle dispute. They are reducing the amount of violence they use against one
another. Everyone seems to be embracing the notion of peace rather than war and I
believe this is so because nations do not want to go back to the hostility and
instability of the Cold Warera. Using the United Statesforeign policies (past and
current) regarding terrorism, I will be analyzing how they fit or do not fit into the
spectrum of human security as national security.
According to Roland Paris, human security does not have one explicit definition.
Different nations and organization define this concept differently; each according to
its view, policies, interests, and goals. Paris compared the concept to standard
developmental goals, in the sense that though most (if not all) nations desire it, only a
few knows

the readers not pursuing the idea of who the killer was but rather questioning the state

the constant questioning of Althorpe character as a whole. In the short storythat

In Althorpe dreams he believes he is protecting Constnaie from an assassin set out
to kill her and defends her by killing it. The way he describes it would only lead the
readers to the conclusion that he actually commited the murder. I was summoned,
methought, to defend this lady from the attacks of an assassin. My ideas were full
of confusion and inaccuracy. All that I can recollect is, that my efforts had been
unsuccessful to avert the stroke of the murderer. This, however, was not
accomplished without drawing on his head a bloody retribution. I imagined myself
engaged, for a long time, in pursuit of the guilty, and, at last, to have detected him in
an artful disguise. I did not employ the usual preliminaries which honour prescribes,
but, stimulated by rage, attacked him with a pistol, and terminated his career by a
mortal wound. (Brown Pg 7) Viewing his dream from a psych analysis standpoint,
you can understand that Althorpe is trying to interpret him killing Constanie Davis
in a more fictional event for him to believe. However, when he wakes up he seems
to deflect the dream and make it into just a dream. This manipulation inside his head
lets the reader assume the psychological reasoning to his sleep walking throughout his

Book Review: The Call by Yannick Murphy One of Yannick Murphy s most
respected reads, The Call , was published in 2011 by HarperCollins Publishers.
Murphy s imaginative and tactical writing style creates a novel that takes the reader
on an emotional rollercoaster. In The Call , readers will be faced with question,
uncertainty, anger, and hardship, with welcomed highlights of family unity, humor
and undying passion. The unusual writing style at first seems unappealing but,
within a few pages the book quickly develops into a compelling read. The book
contains an assembly of diverse characters allowing readers to bond with the novel.
As someone who recently finished The Call and as my first Yannick Murphy
novel, I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed the story. In a small town
of New England a close knit family lives in the outskirts of town enjoying all that
nature has to offer. Told as a narrative through David Appleton s log we learn a lot
about him, his wife Jen, and their three children Mia, Sarah and Sam. Additionally,
we meet many more characters through David s numerous veterinarian calls. In great
detail we are witnessed to both the delightful and unpleasant perks of David s work.
Oddly, an unknown caller turns up randomly throughout the novel. The strength of
the family is tested once a terrible hunting accident lands Sam in a comma. During
David s obsessive search to find out who hurt Sam he often believes the unknown
caller knows what happened to

55. Plantation Life In Hawaii In The 1800 s
Plantation workers, KKIIV,lunas, planters were the ones running and working the
sugar plantations the only problem was they needed more workers on the sugar
plantations, these sugar plantations started on Hawaii in the 1800 s.
Plantation life in Hawaii in the 1800 s was not fair. The living conditions were bad.
The working conditions were bad and the gender differences were unfair.
Back in the 1800 s on the plantations life was terrible for the workers. Before the
annexation passed the workers at the sugar plantations had to sleep on parched fields
of sugarcane and to make it worse they had to sleep with multiple other people.
Another terrible thing about plantation life on Hawaii was that living conditions
differed per race. After the
