2. Editingfeatureswe found-Cross cut during a phone call. The phone call is between a white
British female and their boss another white British male, who is
seen as the one with the equal amount of power to the villain of
a Asian origin. The white British male on the other end of the
phone is seen as the rescuer, therefore portraying the Asian guy
to be a villain.
-Non Dietetic/tense Music, added sound within the editing
stage.
This could have been added to emphases a dramatic situation
such as when the villain points the gun to the victims.
-Jump Cut to Different Location.
Using this jump cut to a different locations can also show the
jump between who has the authority which is shown in this clip
as white British men and seen to be more superior than the
men of other ethnicity's.
Match Cut
A match shot is used to widen the scope to reveal (Danny) the
coloured man lying victim to the Asian man, now seen to be
dead gives us the impression of the Asian man holding the
gun to be powerful.
3. -Reaction Shot
The action shot was used for dramatic effect however the
this was paired with a slow motion shot for emotional
purposes. The dropping of the phone suggests that the
white British male has lost his power as he is no longer on
screen and his connection to his team has been cut.
-Fade out
Used for emotional effect and the suggestion of the
scene taking a different direction. This shows that the
white British male who is seen to be the rescuer has
now lost his power as the effect cuts the scenes.
Flash back
This is used to show the events of the past and reiterating
the fact that the villain now has full control of the situation.
