Potential Difference Inc. has developed a technology called Regenerative Acceleration (ReGenX) that allows electric vehicles to recharge their batteries through acceleration. ReGenX works by introducing a load current delay into the generator's operation to produce a magnetic field weakening and complementary electromagnetic torque, accelerating the vehicle while recharging batteries. Potential Difference plans to partner with University of Waterloo to integrate ReGenX motors into electric vehicles. ReGenX generators could also be used for electricity generation, requiring 80% less energy input and producing 80% less pollution than conventional generators.
