to working every night, all year long, providing food, clothing,and hygiene products to the homeless

building a tiny home community for homeless people to buy for inexpensive prices. The village

The paper industry here in Maine is struggling with mill closures and a bad reputation for being
wasteful or bad for the environment. The issue of paper mills being an added stress to the environment
is not unique to Maine. Mills in Wisconsin are also very wasteful, producing toxins in the air, soil, and
water. In one river in Wisconsin, two hundred fifty thousand pounds of sediment is said to have been
contaminated with manufactured organic chemicals used by the paper mills (Environmental Impacts
of the Paper Industry, 2016). The Environmental protection agency has become involved in the issue
by estimating the movement of about one hundred sixty thousand pounds of sediment from that river
to adjoining lakes, river, and bays (Environmental Impacts of the Paper Industry, 2016). Restricting
access from these locations would be pointless if a natural disaster occurred, possibly washing the
contaminated soil to populated areas (Environmental Impacts of the Paper Industry, 2016). Not only
does the paper industry s chemical waste enter the water systems, it also enters the air. The particulate
matter entering the air includes carbon dioxide, nitrous oxides, sulfur dioxides, carbon monoxides and
particulates. These contribute to ozone warnings, acid rain, global warming and respiratory problems

South Africans had been living under the system of apartheid since 1948 where citizens were divided
by race and kept separate through certain system of laws which governed all aspects of daily life.
Even though black people were in majority they were denied the right to vote in National elections.
The educational system was designed not to educate young blacks into professionals but to prepare
them to serve white upper class. Apartheid went further to divide the schools into racial groups
therefore the white schools were so advantaged within resources compared to the black schools within
the town of Soweto. Government also insisted that the Afrikaans language be used as the medium in
all local schools which created enormous distress amongst black students. Many divisions between
black and white took place in society. The black people found themselves infuriated by the fact that
they were slaves in their own country of birth.
It was back in 1962 that Nelson Mandela that the leader of the anti apartheid movement was arrested
and his political party the African National Congress were banned by Government. The African
National Congress then chose to ignore Government and continued with their movements over the
next two years. Finally government had to use brutal action against the anti apartheid command which
brought the entire movement to a complete standstill.

Non-Profit Organization Analysis
My focus is on non profit organizations (that help the homeless population/low income clients) and
shelters that provide women/families to stay for a specified period of time. Each shelter has a program
that the residents have to abide by to stay in compliance. Each person must have a job, seeking
employment, or take advantage of an opportunity to learn to be a CDA. There are also other
opportunities that are available that the residents can take advantage of. Each non profit organization
has funding from the government, Kiser, P. (2012), (pp. 46 50), private companies that help the
organization, and with donations.

Personal Reflection On Bowling
After having the opportunity to take a bowling class this semester, I have learned much more about
bowling and how it can be used as an overall fitness program and healthy lifestyle. As almost anything
in life bowling has it benefits and its weakness. It s worth to further explore them and discuss these
ideas further. First we talk about how bowling can be played for fun with friends and family, we than
talk about that it s competitive sport and it can be treated like many of the popular sports out there.
Than we go on to talk about the benefits of using bowling as a fitness for a healthy lifestyle, and then
we move on to talk some of the area where bowling doesn t help when we are talking about a healthy
lifestyle, we also tie everything together at the end and compare using bowling as fitness sport to other
sports, and finally we go on to give a personal reflection of my overall opinion on bowling and my
future plans for playing bowling in my life. Bowling can be played for fun, and because of the nature
of bowling, it is perhaps more suitable for playing for fun compared to other sports. The obvious

soldiers went to fight in World War 1 and World War 2, women and children had to replace men in the
workforce. There was an increase in those affected by the trauma of the wars, and the birth rates
