County Administrator Of Facilities Management Essay
Four district facilities managers or superintendents shall be reporting to the county administrator of
facilities management. This means that the structure to be adopted is a divided one in which each
location shall be prioritizing projects as well as competing for funding on basis of individual location
needs (Devaney, 2016). Each district location essentially has its own wish list instead of embarking on
the creation of a prioritized and comprehensive assessment of needs as well as funding on basis of the
needs of the county. Through the decentralized facilities management model, facilities services are to
be offered in a clustered manner by making sure that they all provide various operations, sometimes
with or without consistency in the level of services offered, or standard operating procedures from one
district and/or location to another. The decentralized structure is anticipated to work well after it has
been implemented, and if appropriately carried out it can result to an effectively functioning model.
However, considering the extent of the county s growth over the recent past, it is apparently clear that
the proposed decentralization of high quality shops from a remodeling of an existing are need to be
improved in order to ensure that communities living in the districts where the project is to be
implemented receive effective, consistent, as well as efficient services (Alkhafaji, 2013; Larson Gray,
2011).
Consequently, considering that this project involves a

Society as a whole is now more geared towards the use of internet and video games. Victorians weren
t privileged enough to have that opportunity, so to have a tasteful party, or pass the time by, they
played Parlour games. With being in most Victorian homes, and with so many options to choose from,
they were a must to be considered fun and tasteful. Therefore, games were a treasured aspect for
Victorian living. According to kidspot.com.au , multiple Victorian games are available to choose from.

org, Snapdragon is the most violent Victorian game by far, because it makes kids stick their hands in
an active fire to pull out small objects, all the while with the possibility of being burnt. This game
should be handled with extreme caution and adult supervision. To start off this game, the player would
need to fill a waterproof bowl with Brandy, or other flammable liquid, and place various household
ingredients, including various fruits, almonds, and a handful of raisins. With players scattered around
the bowl, each one of them will take turns sticking their hands inside. They all try to pull out as much
as they can within the small timeframe of them getting burnt. When each player has taken their turn to
pull objects out of the flaming bowl, they will then proceed to count how many of the miscellaneous
pieces of food are in their hand. When done counting, each player will go around stating how many of
the various pieces of food are in their hand, tracking of scores if required. When each player is done
counting, and the winner is determined, then it s said to be that whoever the winner is, will be the first
to have a partner in marriage. This is a dangerous and unsafe game, but nonetheless, a somewhat fun
and enjoyable game, as long as none is hurt or burned during the competition. With having the added
twist of fire and marriage, this will invoke the attention of hopefully older players, and pass the time

How Do Hair Dyes Cause The Most Damage To Hair
For this experiment, these scientists are researching which color hair dyes cause the most damage to
hair. The independent variable would be the different color hair dyes. The dependent variable would
be the strength of the hair after being dyed.
These scientists first began by researching about the structure of human hair. The hair shaft is where
the dying takes place. This is the part of the hair that is seen (above the skin) and is made up of dead
cells that turned into keratin. The hair shaft formed of three layers which are the medulla, the cortex,
and the cuticle. The medulla is the deepest layer and is only seen in large and thick hairs. The cortex is
the middle layer which is responsible for determining the strength, color and texture

Analysis Of Sartre s The Gambler Essay
Sartre argues that one breaks their resolution because of his/her freedom and anguish of the past. He
uses a gambler as an example. The gambler makes a resolution to stop gambling, but when he sees a
gambling table he rethinks the resolution. According to Sartre, the gambler is in anguish because of
his freedom to gamble. Sartre writes that the gambler perceive[s] with anguish that nothing prevents
him from gambling (Sartre, 70). The anguish provoked comes from the freedom to break the
resolution. The gambler made the resolution in the past to stop gambling, but when he sees the
gambling table he has to remake his decision because the resolution is not set in stone. He stands there
in nothingness as he contemplates what to do realizing that there is nothing in his way of gambling.
This freedom to make a new decision presents itself as anguish. It is a constantly renewed obligation
to remake the self which designates the free being (Sartre, 72). The gambler wants to no longer live in
the past through following the resolution, but instead wants to become his future self. If the gambler
changes himself his anguish will be removed for the moment. Although the outcome with the gambler
was not stated, it can be assumed that he started gambling again to remove the anguish. Some people
may look at the gambling as an addiction. These people would argue that it is not the anguish created
by the power of freedom that brings a gambler back to gambling, but rather the chemicals in

Factors, Causes And Effects Of Atomic Bombs
As America came down from the fear and atom madness that gripped the nation in 1945, the Lemay
Subcommittee proposed Operation Crossroads to President Harry Truman in December that same
year. The plan proposed to drop several atomic bombs on naval ships to test the damages and effects
in a controlled setting. Truman approved the plan on January 10, 1946, and preparations began
immediately. The Subcommittee prepared for detonations above and around the island of Bikini, an
isolated, sparsely populated, American controlled territory with naval and air force capacity in the
south Pacific. On March 7, 1946, the 167 Bikini natives moved to a neighboring atoll and Joint Task
Force One (JTFO) praised them for having given up their ancestral home in trust that the American
bomb tests will be of benefit to mankind. This statement by Vice Admiral W. H. P. Blandy, who
oversaw Operation Crossroads, supplements his and other military officers , general wish that no
human lives will be sacrificed to the atom, now or ever again. Despite protests from Manhattan
Project scientists, the first Bikini test was scheduled for July 1, 1946. The operation was shrouded in
defense strategies and the pursuit of science. With the exception of atomic scientists, experts of all
ologies flocked to Bikini to study potential mutations, causes of radiation poisoning, and to witness
the spectacle. The Official Report of Operation Crossroads describes the operation as, Perhaps the

A Home to Many
The sun beats down on the land of Mesa Verde causing it to be a very hot and dry place, especially
when it is not monsoon season. Mesa Verde is comprised of many extensive cuestas which are made
of huge boulders and covered by a variety of trees, shrubs, and bushes. This environment provides a
home to many different species that stay in this national park, for example birds, rabbits, insects, etc.
During the morning at Mesa Verde, the pinyon jay and the Steller jay perch on the branches of the
Colorado pinyon pine or Utah juniper that are found all throughout the woodlands. They sit there
motionless, waiting and watching for little insects to wake up and start moving around on the ground.
The famished birds are ready to glide down at any moment from the branch and devour food. As the
birds grow tiresome of waiting for insects to wake up, they pick up little seeds that fall out of cones
that look like little brown roses and grow on the pinyon pine. The birds nibble on the little green
juniper berries that scatter the ground and the tree like polka dots. While the jays are collecting seeds
and berries, black billed magpies pass over them high in the sky. They plummet down to collect twigs
and needles from the pine or junipers.
With its talons full of collected twigs, magpies fly back to their nests that they carefully construct
hidden away in the holes above the alcoves in the sides of the cuestas. After forty days of building
their nests, they begin to lay

The Theory Of Biological Psychology
Introduction Many careers today benefit from the foundational knowledge of biological psychology,
some on the form of new understandings of technology and new understandings of brain and body
communication. The selected research problem is the effects on stress in the reintegration process and
how it can create obstacles when it comes to treating and trying assist reintegrating service members
and their families. Using the foundational knowledge compiled from years of research in the field of
psychology, neurobiology, and biological psychology. Using research done by other psychologists we
will look at a hypothesis created based on the issue and explain how the hypothesis can be verified
and the validity of the research.
Today there are many careers and areas of expertise that can greatly benefit from the foundational
knowledge of biological psychology. The first and most prominent field that comes to mind that can
and does benefit from the knowledge provided by biological psychology is the medical field. The
reason for this is due to the fact that in the medical field one must have a deep understanding of the
communication between the brain and the rest of the body. During surgery if a connection is severed
the repercussions could be egregious, the patient could potentially be paralyzed, and the medications
administered could have a negative effect on not only the body but also the biochemistry of the brain
as well, leading to further complications. Another reason for the

Fast Food is Unhealthy Food Essay
The medical literature on the causes of food poisoning is full of euphemisms and dry scientific terms:
coliform levels, aerobic plate counts, sorbitol, MacConkey agar, and so on. Behind them lies a simple
explanation for why eating a hamburger can now make you seriously ill: There is shit in the meat.

A regular intake of KFC products can have harmful effects on long term health since trans fat is a
harder fat that clogs the arteries more than other fats. Michael Jacobsen, the executive director of the
Center for Science in the Public Interest, claims KFC knows that other, healthier cooking products are
available to produce the same taste: KFC knows this, yet it recklessly puts its customers at risk of a
Kentucky Fried Coronary ( KFC Blasted ). As long as fast food chains such as McDonald s, Burger
King, and Kentucky Fried Chicken refuse to provide healthier meals, consumers will continue to have
unbalanced diets.
According to the National Institutes of Health, the unbalanced diet resulting from the consumption of
fast food increases the chances of fatal health conditions, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease,
diabetes, stroke, and colon cancer. The NIH further states that those who eat fast food more than twice
a week have a two fold increase in insulin resistance. For people with high resistance, insulin does not
process effectively, causing abnormal amounts of sugar to circulate in the blood stream. As a result,
high blood sugar levels increase the chances of heart disease and diabetes. Between 1972 and 1995,
the amount of Americans diagnosed with diabetes doubled, along with the number of fast food
restaurants. If this rate continues over the next 25 years, one in ten Americans will be diagnosed with

Essay on Stress Management
Stress Management
Responses to stressors present different impacts on each individual. Stressors have a physical and
psychological effect on people although some people seem to be much less effected by stress being
able to withstand high levels of stress almost as if there daily lives depend on it. Even though it is
accepted stress is with us from are waking moment to the minute we sleep, almost all individuals
through time suffer physical or psychological illness. Individual responses to stress have been put into
to categories of personality type; a distinction has been made and put into a category of either type A

Here we will look at the different approaches plus the strengths and weaknesses of these methods.
PHYSICAL METHOD OF STRESS MANAGEMENT.
Drugs.
Strengths.
Prescribed drug treatment seems to be the strongest source of psychological stress control. Anti
depressants and BZs are prescribed to reduce the feelings of anxiety or depression induced through
stress induced illness. The effect of the drugs is simple; they suitably block or reduce the activity of
the brains neurotransmitter for release of serotonin, or directly reduce activity in the pathways leading
to the nervous system around the body, not allowing blood pressure or the heart rate to rise, as it is
these bodily systems that influence the feelings of anxiety. Once blocked or suppressed the individual
when faced with a stressor will feel much calmer and able to cope with the unwanted stressor
presented to them.
Weaknesses.
All drugs present side effects which are usually unpleasant. Most common side effects are nausea,
dizziness and stomach upset. Other side effects experienced are drowsiness and subdued awareness,
these are more serious side effects which can cause a threat to personal safety whilst driving or if you
are in a job that requires you to operate machinery. Drugs only treat the physical feelings experienced
from stress and not the psychological cause so also

Product Placement
Product placement, or embedded marketing, is a form of advertisement, where branded goods or
services are placed in a context usually devoid of ads, such as movies, the story line of television
shows, or news programs. The product placement is often not disclosed at the time that the good or
service is featured. Product placement became common in the 1980s.
In April 2006, Broadcasting Cable reported, Two thirds of advertisers employ branded entertainment

Another early example in film occurs in Horse Feathers (1932) where Thelma Todd s character falls
out of a canoe and into a river. She calls for a life saver and Groucho Marx s character tosses her a

Buffalo Bill Essay
Buffalo Bill
One of the most colorful figures of the Old West became the best known spokesman for the New
West. He was born William Frederick Cody in Iowa in 1846. At 22, in Kansas, he was rechristened
Buffalo Bill . He had been a trapper, a bullwhacker, a Colorado Fifty Niner , Pony Express rider
(1860), wagonmaster, stagecoach driver, Civil War soldier, and even hotel manager. He earned his
nickname for his skill while supplying Kansas Pacific Railroad workers with buffalo meat. He was
about to embark on a career as one of the most illustrious prairie scouts of the Indian Wars.

The phenomenal success of the Wild West was founded on a nostalgia for the passing frontier which
swept the nation in the late 19th Century. But Buffalo Bill himself never looked backward. All my
interests are still with the west the modern west, he wrote near the end of his life.
He used his fame and public attention as a soapbox for western causes, for the rights of Indians and
women, and for conservation. As early as 1879 he cautioned the government to never make a single
promise to the Indians that is not fulfilled. All frontier scouts respected the Indian, he said. Every
Indian outbreak that I have ever known has resulted from broken promises and broken treaties by the
government. America was the Indian s heritage, and the Indian had only fought for what was his.
In 1894 a woman reporter asked him whether he thought the majority of women qualified to vote. He
was caught off guard but answered, As well qualified as the majority of men. The women in his Wild
West were as skilled and courageous as the men. If a woman can do the same work that a man can do
and do it just as well, he said she should have the same pay.
Cody recognized very early that a developer in the West was obligated to be a preserver as well. He
has spoken out against the hide hunters of the 1870s and 1880s for slaughtering the buffalo cruelly,
recklessly. In Wyoming and Colorado he worked to establish game preserves and limit hunting
seasons. Gifford

Botulinum Toxin Lab Report
The botulinum toxin enters the body via the oral route in a complex enclosed by auxiliary proteins to
prevent metabolism of the toxin by endoproteases. The auxiliary proteins contain hemagglutinin (HA)
and a non toxic non hemagglutinin (NTNH) component which make up approximately 900kDa and
ensure the toxin enters the gut without being lysed by the present enzymes. The botulinum toxin in the
gut now has to enter the vascular system and does this via the process known as endocytosis and
undergoes a further process (transcytosis) to move it into the vasculature. The botulinum toxin acts on
neuron endings i.e. the neuromuscular junction and therefore needs to leave the vascular system.

toxin A and E cleave a bond in SNAP 25, but A cleaves the peptide bond between Gln197 Arg198
whilst E cleaves Arg180 Ile181. Only one peptide bond in the SNARE protein is cleaved by the
catalytic domain of the light chain, even though there may be more occurrences of the same bond
within the structure. The reason for this was speculated to be due to structural differences between the
serotypes and that the binding domain of each may be in a different position so that when the toxin
binds to its substrate it changes its orientation to cleave the peptide bond that is ideal in
correspondence with the change in orientation. The effect of the peptide bond cleavage is revealed
once an action potential reaches the neuron. An action potential at the neuron depolarises the
membrane and this causes an influx of Ca2+ ions in the axon. The formation of a neurotransmitter
occurs when acetyl CoA and choline react to produce acetylcholine in a process catalysed by the
enzyme choline acetyltransferase. The calcium ions stimulate neurotransmitter release and thus

2014 and since then have been employed as an inpatient registered nurse by Sanford Health. I have
not participated in research throughout my career and I do not have a lot of knowledge regarding the
development of research besides the general understanding I gained throughout undergraduate studies.
Throughout these studies, we did a moderate amount of gathering of research using databases to find
peer reviewed and relevant data for papers. I did not thoroughly study nursing research but I did gain
proficiency in the use of databases to find reliable research. Due to my limited use of research and the
study of research, I am not confident in initiating and working on research and evidence based practice
projects. Throughout this course, I hope to gain a more in depth study of research and a better
understanding of how to develop, implement, and bring forth research studies to help dedicate my
current and future careers to the use of research and evidence based practice. Personal Goals
Throughout this course, I hope to accomplish three personal goals. The first goal I hope to accomplish,
is the increased use and implementation of application. Application is defined as, use a concept in a
new situation or unprompted use of an abstraction. Applies what was learned in the classroom into
novel situations in the workplace (Randall, 2010). In nursing, I believe application is important due to
the usual learning environment being a classroom but the application environment being in front of a
patient. I hope throughout this course I can better apply what I learn through lectures, the course
textbook, and discussion with colleagues to my future patients and fellow healthcare providers in
order to provide and develop well informed research. The second goal I hope to address regarding the
affective domain is valuing . An example of valuing is, informs management on matters that one feels
strongly about (Randall, 2010). I hope to

Scott Joplin Essay
Scott Joplin (1868 1917)
Scott Joplin, commonly known as the quot;King of Ragtime quot; music, was born on November 24,
1868, in Bowie County, Texas near Linden. Joplin came from a large musical family. His father, Giles
Joplin was a musician who had fiddled dance music while serving as a slave at his master s parties.
His mother, Florence Givens Joplin, born free and out of slavery, sang and played the banjo, and four
of his brothers and sisters either sang or played strings.
Joplin s talent was revealed at an early age. Encouraged by his parent s, he became extremely
proficient on the banjo and gained an interest for playing the piano. After Joplin s parents purchased a
piano for the family, he taught himself how to play the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This opera did not actually reach popularity until some 60 years later. New York proved to be
stimulating for Joplin s creative mind. There he published many ragtime jewels, on right after another.
In 1916, Joplin s career came to an abrupt end. Joplin contracted syphilis and began suffering the
terminal effects of this disease. He suffered from paranoia, dementia, penalization, and other
symptoms. In the latter part of 1916, he was admitted to Manhattan State Hospital, a mental hospital,
where he would never leave until he passed away on April 1, 1917. After his death, Joplin s body was
buried in the Astoria section of Queens, New York in St. Michael s Cemetery.
In Joplin s many years of composing, he was never actually acknowledged as the great composer that
he really was. There just was not any opportunities for black musicians during those times to have
their music heard by anyone in the serious musical world. Joplin s music received recognition
posthumously as a result of the revival of ragtime music in the 1970 s, as well as during its popularity
in the 1920 s and 1930 s.
Throughout his entire life, Joplin was mostly influenced to increase his musical skills by his mother
and father, both being musicians themselves. More than type of influence upon himself, Joplin was
one to place the influence on others. His works sparked the writings of his contemporaries, all those
who studied with him, and all those who studied his music.
Joplin led in the

The Church Of England In The Canterbury Tales
During the time period that The Canterbury Tales was written, England went under massive changes
of all kind, specifically religious, political, and medically. The changes of this time inspired many of
the stories and characters as most of them formed their lives around these changes. During this era of
England, the Church of England gained immense amounts of influence, enough to have control over
the King himself. The characters named the Pardoner and the Summoner were both from the church,
or so they pretend. Their stature with the church gave them respect among the other members of the
group heading to Canterbury. The character, the Doctor, took advantage of the sick by telling them that
they need a special medicine that only his friend sells. The plan was that the Doctor would send
people to his friend for a special deal and the Doctor would get a cut of the profit from his friend. As
the church rose to power, they officially had their own military power in forms of knights and squires.
Their influence stretched far and wide, only becoming even larger by the holy wars being fought
throughout Europe. The church turned their knights into crusaders and ordered them to go to places
such as Alexandria, Benamarin, Flanders, and other places around Europe. It was revealed that the
Knight and the Squire were indirectly mentioned as being part of the crusades. It was revealed by how
they were mentioned to have been in those cities at the same time of the crusades.

Lucille Clifton Grandma We Are Poetry Analysis
Great pieces of literature allow for someone to relate to the piece. As I read grandma, we are poets by
Lucille Clifton I could relate. I did not read it as if I related to autism, but as I remember all the words
that define who were are by society s standards. In Clifton s poem emotion could be felt when
portraying those with autism and I was determined to make a similar piece.
For my piece I began to define beauty based on society s definition rather than how Clifton defines
autism by the dictionary definition. I wanted there to be two different voices heard in my poem. The
first voice was that of myself as I reminisce on what beauty felt like as I grew up. The other voice is
society and all the ideas that make someone beautiful. I decided to use the word beauty because I have
been talking to my sister lately and a boy told her she was not pretty enough to be his girlfriend. I
realized writing a poem was a good way to portray to her that no matter what anyone says she is
always going to be beautiful. I was able to write my own experience because there is no better way to
explain something than through one s own examples. This advice coming from an older sister is ...

In my own piece I decided to use my own experience from when I was younger to explain to my little
sister that no matter what society says she is beautiful the way she is. As I read the third stanza in
Clifton s work she used the word imagined multiple times to portray what a kid with autism is feeling
or doing as they see people or hear words. I felt that the word change was a great way to portray raw
emotion in my piece. I used the dashes before the word to exaggerate the change that society was
yelling in my head. Finally, the last change comes, but it is modified to changed. I used the word
changed to evoke emotion because I had finally given into society and what society sketched as

Creationism Vs Old Earth Research Paper
Astronomers and geologists have determined that Earth is definitely over billions of years old. This
conclusion is not based on just one measurement and a number that comes up on a computer screen
but on many types of evidence. Here I will try my very best to describe the evidence of how scientists
have calculated the age of Earth. These methods are largely independent of each other and the history
behind this is much longer than 10000 years. Many people have their beliefs. As I am coming from a
Christian family, the concept of Earth was that a God that I believe in was the creator of the Earth.
There is two creationism known as Young Earth and Old Earth.
Both creationism seems to have both science and the relationship of the Bible in regard

India s Fields Of Rai Block Of Sonepat District
ABSTRACT
A study was conducted in farmers fields of Rai block of Sonepat district, Haryana, India to study the
long term impact of two widely adopted resource conservation technologies (RCT s) namely bed
planting and zero tillage on structural properties of soils of recent alluvial plains of the river Yamuna.
Aggregate mean weight diameter by dry sieving and wet sieving (DS MWD and WS MWD) under
different RCT s were studied to compare structural condition of the soils under continuous use of these
technologies. Other important structural indices such as dispersion ratio (a measure of ease of
dispersion; DR), colloid moisture equivalent ration (a measure of ease of percolation; CMER), erosion
ratio (ER), stability index (SI), soil organic carbon (SOC), clay ratio (CR) were also studied to
monitor the susceptibility of soil to erosion in the study area. Results revealed that in the surveyed
villages under conventional tillage (CT), the mean (of 6 samples) magnitude of DR and ER were 0.58
and 0.82, respectively, and CMER was 1, which indicated the erodible nature of these soils. Analysis
of data of bed and conventional systems revealed that on an average, there was about 19.08 % increase
in SOC in bed planted system compared to conventional system. The decrease of DR, ER and CR
from 0.66, 0.52 and 4.25 under CT to 0.42, 0.28 and 2.38 under beds indicated reduced eroding
tendency of these soils under bed planting. Comparison of soil data of ZT and CT showed

Problems with German Reunification Essays
Problems with German Reunification
Following the Second World War, Germany was rebuilt out of practically nothing into one of the
richest countries of the world. This well known transformation is known as the Wirtschaftswunder
(wonder of economics). Yet in the recent reunification of West and East Germany, German leadership
has ignored crucial lessons from this successful period of transformation. Three problems highlight
this claim:
1. Reunification promised to quickly alleviate forty years of East German Socialism by means of tax
money: Prior to and especially during the November 1990 reunification election, political parties and
government leaders all agreed that East Germany could be raised to the West German standard of ...

For the most part, the German government instead sends billions of Deutschmarks to the former GDR
and promises wealth without hard work, since hard work is so unpopular. This attitude is reflected in a
common jest concerning a former GDR citizen who, after reunification, starts to work at the Mercedes
assembly line but at 10:00 am complains to his co worker: I am tired. We are already over the time,
and the material usually runs out.
2. Reunification promised to bring social freedom by ignoring the crimes of former Socialist party
leaders: In the Entnazifizierung following World War II, thousands of Nazi criminals were brought to
American and, later, German law courts. Not all Nazi criminals were found or sentenced, but justice
became a part of the common mentality, and former Nazis remained silently powerless for fear that
common citizens could take them before the courts.
In contrast, the German government has not attempted to restore this sort of criminal justice in the
former GDR. Thousands of the leading members of the SED (the East German Socialist party) are
criminals even by old GDR standards, but, as of yet, German citizens are not bringing lawsuits against
such criminals like they did following World War II. Most former GDR citizens fear to talk

Santa Marta Settlement Of A Farm Owned By Francisco Jose...
Minoja (2012) found that until 1824, the area now occupied by Santa Marta settlement is part of a
farm owned by Francisco Jose Leite, Baron of Vassouras. In 1824 the land then passed to a second
owner of the farm to the Baron of Macaubas. In 1920 began the growth of the nearby suburb of
Copacabana and Botafogo, causing large amounts of development and thus increasing the need for
workers. On Santa Marta hill, due to the construction of Santo Inacio church and college, many people
migrated for the economic opportunities offered by the project and for the land in which to erect
houses offered by the priests. This project lasted almost 30 years.
The priest permitted the workers to erect their houses on Santa Marta hill, marking the beginning of
this settlement. The first dwellings were built on the top section of the hill surrounded by the atlantic
forest, one of the first being the chapel built by Jesuit priests consecrated to Santa Marta, in which the
settlement is named after (Minoja, 2012, pg41).
Between 1930 1940 many people migrated from other areas of Brazil, as a result over time the
settlement densified and grew downwards towards the city. In 1940 approximately 31% of Brazil s
population was living in urban areas and the first census was conducted of 14 favelas in Rio de Janeiro
(Minoja, 2012).
Santa Marta was one of the first favelas in Rio de Janeiro to experience intervention from the two
complementary State led programs aforementioned; the Rio Cidade Program or

How to Hurdle If you are a middle schooler and are on the fence about trying hurdles I suggest that
you do. Hurdles are very fun and easier than they look. I will tell you why. The sport of track is a very
mental sport. You can only do what you think that you can do. So, you just have to think you can do
hurdles and you will! At least after I teach you the basics. The first and most important step of hurdles
is a good attitude. A good attitude will help you stay focused and positive. Your mental stability will
also help with your physical abilities. The psychological aspects of hurdling are commonly
underestimated. A good attitude can assist in accomplishing so many things. Especially if you are

Howl By Allen Ginsberg Critical Analysis
Poetry may be defined in many ways: for different people arising from different backgrounds, (levels
of education, beliefs, culture, and family), poetry may be viewed in many perspectives that suit their
familiarity of understanding. For T.S. Eliot, poetry is an art which is controlled to go beyond reporting
feelings of moments, into something extended. The extended feeling, that now has meaning beyond
just an expression for emotion, is then able to live for itself, separate from its creator. Hence, poetry
becomes an escape from emotion and personality as the personality that it derives from gives birth to
something independent. Eliot is right to define poetry as something representing an extended feeling,
as the beauty of poetry is to convey meaning from something unpoetic such as pure madness;
however, he failed to include that to give meaning an independence, to a feeling is to incorporate the
poet s psychology. It takes a poet s intelligence to be able to transfer the unexplainable to something
understood by others. A poem is not just a medium of escape, it is an extension of the poet s psyche as
their experiences and knowledge of their world is what helps them craft and define the shape of their
work.
Howl, by Allen Ginsberg is an example of how a turning loose of emotion becomes not just an escape
of emotion, but an expression for his critiques against the American Society in the 1950 s. Throughout
the collection of poems, the minimal use of poetic conventions

Essay On Intellect In Romeo And Juliet
Should your decision be based upon intellect or emotion? This can sometimes be a tough decision for
some people because they want to do what their heart says, but they know it s not the right choice. In
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo makes decisions based upon his emotion, the fact
that he loves Juliet. This ends badly for him because he ends up killing himself as he thinks there is
nothing left to live for, because Juliet is presumed dead. While making a decision using your heart
instead of thinking about what the best option is for you feels right, human choice should be driven by
intellect because a human can be reasonable and decide if the choice they are making is right or
wrong, and by using emotion, they can lose track of reality and the can get blindsided by love or even
anything, and make the wrong choice.
Additionally, by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a choice was driven by emotion, people would get so upset over something that they wouldn t be
able to see all the great things that were right in front of them. Instead of doing this, by thinking
intellectually, you can sit down and compose your thoughts and ideas before jumping to conclusions.
For example, in Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, Piggy starts getting emotional, and starts to
believe they ll stay on the island the rest of their lives. His lips quivered and the spectacles were
dimmed with mist. We may stay here till we die. (Golding, 14) This probably affected his whole
experience on the island. If all the boys had been more positive, maybe none of them would be killed
or they wouldn t have split up into groups. You see, they were so distracted by the fantasy of the beast,
He says he saw the beastie. (Golding, 36) that they didn t realize where they were and how they could
get off the island or work together to get off. Reality is something that should be made with choices

Why Does The Mirror Image Rule Still Apply In Certain...
Why does the Mirror Image rule still apply in certain business scenarios? Why has the UCC largely
discarded the mirror image rule, while it still persists in various parts of the common law? Discuss
whether the complexity of the UCC 2 207 is or is not preferable to the simplicity of the mirror image
rule. Covered by the accepted rules, it is a necessity that the printed composition, offer and
acceptance, make a Mirror Image of one another for an agreement to happen. If there exists dissimilar
agreements and circumstances, indifferent of their relevance, there would exist no deal. Even though
the Mirror Image rule had the benefit of being understandable and not difficult to put into use, it didn t
echo the facts of the current era commercial business. So in Article Two of the UCC, that is relevant to
business dealings, the Mirror Image rule was interchanged by UCC 2 207. That arrangement
acknowledges that an agreement can happen still where the proposal and agreement weren t exact.
Covered by UCC 2 207, all exact and appropriate verbalization of agreement will shape a deal despite
of if it includes unlike conditions except when agreement is purposely created dependent on
acknowledgement to the extra or contrasting circumstances. Additionally, although the persons
arrangements are so entirely different that no composed agreement is brought into existence, UCC 2
207(3) understands that the individuals behavior can however produce an agreement. UCC 2 207

The Demilitarization Of Japan
The postwar program for Japan was complicated in some ways but then again it was all there to
rebuild the Japanese economy and make things more peaceful. One thing that was created was called
demilitarization. This was a program that was important to the post war program for may reasons.
Demilitarization is the process of disbanding a nations armed forces. In this case it was Japanese.
MacArthur who created this was very quick to achieve this goal and he left Japan with only small
police forces. Everyone knew that Japan was a very aggressive fighting nation. Their military had
fueled so much hatred in WWII which led to them being defeated brutally many times. For example
when the US had sent atomic bombs they knew Japan was full of

  • 3. County Administrator Of Facilities Management Essay Four district facilities managers or superintendents shall be reporting to the county administrator of facilities management. This means that the structure to be adopted is a divided one in which each location shall be prioritizing projects as well as competing for funding on basis of individual location needs (Devaney, 2016). Each district location essentially has its own wish list instead of embarking on the creation of a prioritized and comprehensive assessment of needs as well as funding on basis of the needs of the county. Through the decentralized facilities management model, facilities services are to be offered in a clustered manner by making sure that they all provide various operations, sometimes with or without consistency in the level of services offered, or standard operating procedures from one district and/or location to another. The decentralized structure is anticipated to work well after it has been implemented, and if appropriately carried out it can result to an effectively functioning model. However, considering the extent of the county s growth over the recent past, it is apparently clear that the proposed decentralization of high quality shops from a remodeling of an existing are need to be improved in order to ensure that communities living in the districts where the project is to be implemented receive effective, consistent, as well as efficient services (Alkhafaji, 2013; Larson Gray, 2011). This game should be handled with extreme caution and adult supervision. To start off this game, the player would need to fill a waterproof bowl with Brandy, or other flammable liquid, and place various household ingredients, including various fruits, almonds, and a handful of raisins. With players scattered around the bowl, each one of them will take turns sticking their hands inside. They all try to pull out as much as they can within the small timeframe of them getting burnt. When each player has taken their turn to pull objects out of the flaming bowl, they will then proceed to count how many of the miscellaneous pieces of food are in their hand. When done counting, each player will go around stating how many of the various pieces of food are in their hand, tracking of scores if required. When each player is done counting, and the winner is determined, then it s said to be that whoever the winner is, will be the first to have a partner in marriage. This is a dangerous and unsafe game, but nonetheless, a somewhat fun and enjoyable game, as long as none is hurt or burned during the competition. With having the added twist of fire and marriage, this will invoke the attention of hopefully older players, and pass the time by, or to just have fun at a family ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Analysis Of Sartre s The Gambler Essay Sartre argues that one breaks their resolution because of his/her freedom and anguish of the past. He uses a gambler as an example. The gambler makes a resolution to stop gambling, but when he sees a gambling table he rethinks the resolution. According to Sartre, the gambler is in anguish because of his freedom to gamble. Sartre writes that the gambler perceive[s] with anguish that nothing prevents him from gambling (Sartre, 70). The anguish provoked comes from the freedom to break the resolution. The gambler made the resolution in the past to stop gambling, but when he sees the gambling table he has to remake his decision because the resolution is not set in stone. He stands there in nothingness as he contemplates what to do realizing that there is nothing in his way of gambling. This freedom to make a new decision presents itself as anguish. It is a constantly renewed obligation to remake the self which designates the free being (Sartre, 72). The gambler wants to no longer live in the past through following the resolution, but instead wants to become his future self. If the gambler changes himself his anguish will be removed for the moment. Although the outcome with the gambler was not stated, it can be assumed that he started gambling again to remove the anguish. Some people may look at the gambling as an addiction. These people would argue that it is not the anguish created by the power of freedom that brings a gambler back to gambling, but rather the chemicals in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mesa Verde is comprised of many extensive cuestas which are made of huge boulders and covered by a variety of trees, shrubs, and bushes. This environment provides a home to many different species that stay in this national park, for example birds, rabbits, insects, etc. During the morning at Mesa Verde, the pinyon jay and the Steller jay perch on the branches of the Colorado pinyon pine or Utah juniper that are found all throughout the woodlands. They sit there motionless, waiting and watching for little insects to wake up and start moving around on the ground. The famished birds are ready to glide down at any moment from the branch and devour food. As the birds grow tiresome of waiting for insects to wake up, they pick up little seeds that fall out of cones that look like little brown roses and grow on the pinyon pine. The birds nibble on the little green juniper berries that scatter the ground and the tree like polka dots. While the jays are collecting seeds and berries, black billed magpies pass over them high in the sky. They plummet down to collect twigs and needles from the pine or junipers. With its talons full of collected twigs, magpies fly back to their nests that they carefully construct hidden away in the holes above the alcoves in the sides of the cuestas. Michael Jacobsen, the executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, claims KFC knows that other, healthier cooking products are available to produce the same taste: KFC knows this, yet it recklessly puts its customers at risk of a Kentucky Fried Coronary ( KFC Blasted ). As long as fast food chains such as McDonald s, Burger King, and Kentucky Fried Chicken refuse to provide healthier meals, consumers will continue to have unbalanced diets. According to the National Institutes of Health, the unbalanced diet resulting from the consumption of fast food increases the chances of fatal health conditions, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and colon cancer. The NIH further states that those who eat fast food more than twice a week have a two fold increase in insulin resistance. For people with high resistance, insulin does not process effectively, causing abnormal amounts of sugar to circulate in the blood stream. As a result, high blood sugar levels increase the chances of heart disease and diabetes. • 18. Buffalo Bill Essay Buffalo Bill One of the most colorful figures of the Old West became the best known spokesman for the New West. He was born William Frederick Cody in Iowa in 1846. At 22, in Kansas, he was rechristened Buffalo Bill . He had been a trapper, a bullwhacker, a Colorado Fifty Niner , Pony Express rider (1860), wagonmaster, stagecoach driver, Civil War soldier, and even hotel manager. He earned his nickname for his skill while supplying Kansas Pacific Railroad workers with buffalo meat. He was about to embark on a career as one of the most illustrious prairie scouts of the Indian Wars. From 1868 through 1872 he was continously employed by the United States Army, a record in the hazardous and uncertain scouting profession. He won the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The phenomenal success of the Wild West was founded on a nostalgia for the passing frontier which swept the nation in the late 19th Century. But Buffalo Bill himself never looked backward. All my interests are still with the west the modern west, he wrote near the end of his life. He used his fame and public attention as a soapbox for western causes, for the rights of Indians and women, and for conservation. As early as 1879 he cautioned the government to never make a single promise to the Indians that is not fulfilled. All frontier scouts respected the Indian, he said. Every Indian outbreak that I have ever known has resulted from broken promises and broken treaties by the government. America was the Indian s heritage, and the Indian had only fought for what was his. In 1894 a woman reporter asked him whether he thought the majority of women qualified to vote. He was caught off guard but answered, As well qualified as the majority of men. The women in his Wild West were as skilled and courageous as the men. If a woman can do the same work that a man can do and do it just as well, he said she should have the same pay. Cody recognized very early that a developer in the West was obligated to be a preserver as well. He has spoken out against the hide hunters of the 1870s and 1880s for slaughtering the buffalo cruelly, recklessly. In Wyoming and Colorado he worked to establish game preserves and limit hunting seasons. Gifford ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Botulinum Toxin Lab Report The botulinum toxin enters the body via the oral route in a complex enclosed by auxiliary proteins to prevent metabolism of the toxin by endoproteases. The auxiliary proteins contain hemagglutinin (HA) and a non toxic non hemagglutinin (NTNH) component which make up approximately 900kDa and ensure the toxin enters the gut without being lysed by the present enzymes. The botulinum toxin in the gut now has to enter the vascular system and does this via the process known as endocytosis and undergoes a further process (transcytosis) to move it into the vasculature. The botulinum toxin acts on neuron endings i.e. the neuromuscular junction and therefore needs to leave the vascular system. There is little knowledge on how the toxin undergoes this ... Only one peptide bond in the SNARE protein is cleaved by the catalytic domain of the light chain, even though there may be more occurrences of the same bond within the structure. The reason for this was speculated to be due to structural differences between the serotypes and that the binding domain of each may be in a different position so that when the toxin binds to its substrate it changes its orientation to cleave the peptide bond that is ideal in correspondence with the change in orientation. The effect of the peptide bond cleavage is revealed once an action potential reaches the neuron. An action potential at the neuron depolarises the membrane and this causes an influx of Ca2+ ions in the axon. • 22. Reflection Paper In Nursing Reflection Paper Experiences and Comfort Levels with Research I have been accepted to the Doctorate of Nursing Practice: Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Mary to officially begin this fall semester. I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota in 2014 and since then have been employed as an inpatient registered nurse by Sanford Health. I have not participated in research throughout my career and I do not have a lot of knowledge regarding the development of research besides the general understanding I gained throughout undergraduate studies. Throughout these studies, we did a moderate amount of gathering of research using databases to find peer reviewed and relevant data for papers. I did not thoroughly study nursing research but I did gain proficiency in the use of databases to find reliable research. Due to my limited use of research and the study of research, I am not confident in initiating and working on research and evidence based practice projects. Throughout this course, I hope to gain a more in depth study of research and a better understanding of how to develop, implement, and bring forth research studies to help dedicate my current and future careers to the use of research and evidence based practice. Personal Goals Throughout this course, I hope to accomplish three personal goals. The first goal I hope to accomplish, is the increased use and implementation of application. Application is defined as, use a concept in a new situation or unprompted use of an abstraction. Applies what was learned in the classroom into novel situations in the workplace (Randall, 2010). In nursing, I believe application is important due to the usual learning environment being a classroom but the application environment being in front of a patient. I hope throughout this course I can better apply what I learn through lectures, the course textbook, and discussion with colleagues to my future patients and fellow healthcare providers in order to provide and develop well informed research. The second goal I hope to address regarding the affective domain is valuing . An example of valuing is, informs management on matters that one feels strongly about (Randall, 2010). I hope to ... • 23. Scott Joplin Essay Scott Joplin (1868 1917) Scott Joplin, commonly known as the quot;King of Ragtime quot; music, was born on November 24, 1868, in Bowie County, Texas near Linden. Joplin came from a large musical family. His father, Giles Joplin was a musician who had fiddled dance music while serving as a slave at his master s parties. His mother, Florence Givens Joplin, born free and out of slavery, sang and played the banjo, and four of his brothers and sisters either sang or played strings. Joplin s talent was revealed at an early age. Encouraged by his parent s, he became extremely proficient on the banjo and gained an interest for playing the piano. This opera did not actually reach popularity until some 60 years later. New York proved to be stimulating for Joplin s creative mind. There he published many ragtime jewels, on right after another. In 1916, Joplin s career came to an abrupt end. Joplin contracted syphilis and began suffering the terminal effects of this disease. He suffered from paranoia, dementia, penalization, and other symptoms. In the latter part of 1916, he was admitted to Manhattan State Hospital, a mental hospital, where he would never leave until he passed away on April 1, 1917. After his death, Joplin s body was buried in the Astoria section of Queens, New York in St. Michael s Cemetery. In Joplin s many years of composing, he was never actually acknowledged as the great composer that he really was. There just was not any opportunities for black musicians during those times to have their music heard by anyone in the serious musical world. Joplin s music received recognition posthumously as a result of the revival of ragtime music in the 1970 s, as well as during its popularity in the 1920 s and 1930 s. Throughout his entire life, Joplin was mostly influenced to increase his musical skills by his mother and father, both being musicians themselves. More than type of influence upon himself, Joplin was one to place the influence on others. His works sparked the writings of his contemporaries, all those who studied with him, and all those who studied his music. Joplin led in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. The Church Of England In The Canterbury Tales During the time period that The Canterbury Tales was written, England went under massive changes of all kind, specifically religious, political, and medically. The changes of this time inspired many of the stories and characters as most of them formed their lives around these changes. During this era of England, the Church of England gained immense amounts of influence, enough to have control over the King himself. The characters named the Pardoner and the Summoner were both from the church, or so they pretend. Their stature with the church gave them respect among the other members of the group heading to Canterbury. The character, the Doctor, took advantage of the sick by telling them that they need a special medicine that only his friend sells. The plan was that the Doctor would send people to his friend for a special deal and the Doctor would get a cut of the profit from his friend. As the church rose to power, they officially had their own military power in forms of knights and squires. Their influence stretched far and wide, only becoming even larger by the holy wars being fought throughout Europe. The church turned their knights into crusaders and ordered them to go to places such as Alexandria, Benamarin, Flanders, and other places around Europe. It was revealed that the Knight and the Squire were indirectly mentioned as being part of the crusades. It was revealed by how they were mentioned to have been in those cities at the same time of the crusades. The Prologue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I did not read it as if I related to autism, but as I remember all the words that define who were are by society s standards. In Clifton s poem emotion could be felt when portraying those with autism and I was determined to make a similar piece. For my piece I began to define beauty based on society s definition rather than how Clifton defines autism by the dictionary definition. I wanted there to be two different voices heard in my poem. The first voice was that of myself as I reminisce on what beauty felt like as I grew up. The other voice is society and all the ideas that make someone beautiful. I decided to use the word beauty because I have been talking to my sister lately and a boy told her she was not pretty enough to be his girlfriend. I realized writing a poem was a good way to portray to her that no matter what anyone says she is always going to be beautiful. Aggregate mean weight diameter by dry sieving and wet sieving (DS MWD and WS MWD) under different RCT s were studied to compare structural condition of the soils under continuous use of these technologies. Other important structural indices such as dispersion ratio (a measure of ease of dispersion; DR), colloid moisture equivalent ration (a measure of ease of percolation; CMER), erosion ratio (ER), stability index (SI), soil organic carbon (SOC), clay ratio (CR) were also studied to monitor the susceptibility of soil to erosion in the study area. Results revealed that in the surveyed villages under conventional tillage (CT), the mean (of 6 samples) magnitude of DR and ER were 0.58 and 0.82, respectively, and CMER was 1, which indicated the erodible nature of these soils. Analysis of data of bed and conventional systems revealed that on an average, there was about 19.08 % increase in SOC in bed planted system compared to conventional system. The decrease of DR, ER and CR from 0.66, 0.52 and 4.25 under CT to 0.42, 0.28 and 2.38 under beds indicated reduced eroding tendency of these soils under bed planting. Problems with German Reunification Essays Problems with German Reunification Following the Second World War, Germany was rebuilt out of practically nothing into one of the richest countries of the world. This well known transformation is known as the Wirtschaftswunder (wonder of economics). Yet in the recent reunification of West and East Germany, German leadership has ignored crucial lessons from this successful period of transformation. Three problems highlight this claim: 1. We are already over the time, and the material usually runs out. 2. Reunification promised to bring social freedom by ignoring the crimes of former Socialist party leaders: In the Entnazifizierung following World War II, thousands of Nazi criminals were brought to American and, later, German law courts. Not all Nazi criminals were found or sentenced, but justice became a part of the common mentality, and former Nazis remained silently powerless for fear that common citizens could take them before the courts. In contrast, the German government has not attempted to restore this sort of criminal justice in the former GDR. • 30. Santa Marta Settlement Of A Farm Owned By Francisco Jose... Minoja (2012) found that until 1824, the area now occupied by Santa Marta settlement is part of a farm owned by Francisco Jose Leite, Baron of Vassouras. In 1824 the land then passed to a second owner of the farm to the Baron of Macaubas. In 1920 began the growth of the nearby suburb of Copacabana and Botafogo, causing large amounts of development and thus increasing the need for workers. On Santa Marta hill, due to the construction of Santo Inacio church and college, many people migrated for the economic opportunities offered by the project and for the land in which to erect houses offered by the priests. This project lasted almost 30 years. The priest permitted the workers to erect their houses on Santa Marta hill, marking the beginning of this settlement. The first dwellings were built on the top section of the hill surrounded by the atlantic forest, one of the first being the chapel built by Jesuit priests consecrated to Santa Marta, in which the settlement is named after (Minoja, 2012, pg41). Between 1930 1940 many people migrated from other areas of Brazil, as a result over time the settlement densified and grew downwards towards the city. In 1940 approximately 31% of Brazil s population was living in urban areas and the first census was conducted of 14 favelas in Rio de Janeiro (Minoja, 2012). • 32. Howl By Allen Ginsberg Critical Analysis Poetry may be defined in many ways: for different people arising from different backgrounds, (levels of education, beliefs, culture, and family), poetry may be viewed in many perspectives that suit their familiarity of understanding. For T.S. Eliot, poetry is an art which is controlled to go beyond reporting feelings of moments, into something extended. The extended feeling, that now has meaning beyond just an expression for emotion, is then able to live for itself, separate from its creator. Hence, poetry becomes an escape from emotion and personality as the personality that it derives from gives birth to something independent. Eliot is right to define poetry as something representing an extended feeling, as the beauty of poetry is to convey meaning from something unpoetic such as pure madness; however, he failed to include that to give meaning an independence, to a feeling is to incorporate the poet s psychology. It takes a poet s intelligence to be able to transfer the unexplainable to something understood by others. A poem is not just a medium of escape, it is an extension of the poet s psyche as their experiences and knowledge of their world is what helps them craft and define the shape of their work. Howl, by Allen Ginsberg is an example of how a turning loose of emotion becomes not just an escape of emotion, but an expression for his critiques against the American Society in the 1950 s. • 33. Essay On Intellect In Romeo And Juliet Should your decision be based upon intellect or emotion? This can sometimes be a tough decision for some people because they want to do what their heart says, but they know it s not the right choice. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo makes decisions based upon his emotion, the fact that he loves Juliet. This ends badly for him because he ends up killing himself as he thinks there is nothing left to live for, because Juliet is presumed dead. While making a decision using your heart instead of thinking about what the best option is for you feels right, human choice should be driven by intellect because a human can be reasonable and decide if the choice they are making is right or wrong, and by using emotion, they can lose track of reality and the can get blindsided by love or even anything, and make the wrong choice. Why has the UCC largely discarded the mirror image rule, while it still persists in various parts of the common law? Discuss whether the complexity of the UCC 2 207 is or is not preferable to the simplicity of the mirror image rule. Covered by the accepted rules, it is a necessity that the printed composition, offer and acceptance, make a Mirror Image of one another for an agreement to happen. If there exists dissimilar agreements and circumstances, indifferent of their relevance, there would exist no deal. Even though the Mirror Image rule had the benefit of being understandable and not difficult to put into use, it didn t echo the facts of the current era commercial business. So in Article Two of the UCC, that is relevant to business dealings, the Mirror Image rule was interchanged by UCC 2 207. That arrangement acknowledges that an agreement can happen still where the proposal and agreement weren t exact. Covered by UCC 2 207, all exact and appropriate verbalization of agreement will shape a deal despite of if it includes unlike conditions except when agreement is purposely created dependent on acknowledgement to the extra or contrasting circumstances.
