A Research Study On Drug Testing
When Pharmaceutical companies are trying to develop a new drug they begin the process of a clinical
trial. A clinical trial in drug testing is when researchers test a new drug on live participants and record
information such as side effects and results. Recently, pharmaceutical companies are trying to increase
their profits so they have been outsourcing. Outsourcing is when clinical trials go to a clinical research
organization (CRO), which are big businesses. One crucial step in a clinical trial is informed consent.
The participants must know they are part of a research study, the possible risks, and outcomes. This
information should be presented in a manor in which the individual can understand. However, after
watching the videos this crucial step is sometimes overlooked or not taken seriously during overseas
drug testing. Often times testing is done overseas in areas that are over populated and have a large gap
between the wealthy and the poor. When researchers are conducting the trial they have been known to
just completely skip over this step or they give individuals the information on the clinical trial but the
participants are illiterate and unable to understand any part of it. This is seen as unethical practice.
Ethically, all participants are required to know they are part of a clinical trial and they need to know
all risks and outcomes projected before participating.
When government officials were interviewed about the clinical trials they stated that the

Tim Tebow Religious Beliefs
Tim Tebow, Colin Kaepernick, and Kurt Warner are popular outspoken athletes who express their
personal beliefs on the field. Some fans love these athletes expressing their beliefs on the field, but
some of their outspoken beliefs are a distraction. Their expression of beliefs have led to more athletes
making their personal beliefs known, but not every athlete s personal belief on the field are about
religion. The outspoken beliefs of athletes should be banned from professional sports if sports fans
believe it is such a problem, but when they do that they should discourage athletes from having any
sort of tattoo on them. Professional athletes sharing their personal and religious beliefs on the field,
should not be outlawed by sports coaches to express themselves with their personal belief that include
religious tattoos on the field, because professional athletes sharing their personal and religious beliefs
on the field distract fans from the game. One of these popular athletes is Tim Tebow, acknowledged by
many as the greatest player in the history of college football. Tebow went onto play in the National
Football League for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets and his popularity provided a platform
that he used became expression for his faith. After being traded by the Denver Broncos in 2012, his
number fifteen has become the league s highest selling jersey. After the Denver Broncos traded Tebow
to the New York Jets in early 2012, Tebow continued to be featured in

What Is Kipling s View On Imperialism
Imperialism
Imperialism is when a country extends its power and influences through diplomacy or military force.
Most imperialism happens when a nation is more industrialized than another and they go to another
country to help them industrialize. Throughout history several authors have expressed their feelings
toward the controversial subject. I will discuss Mark Twain, George Orwell, and Rudyard Kipling s
views on imperialism below by looking into some of their works.
When you first read Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell you may think it is a story to entertain
you. However, the entire piece is a metaphor about Britain imperialism. Orwell s views on
imperialism is quickly identified when he says For at that time I had already made up my mind that
imperialism was an evil thing. (Shooting an Elephant George Orwell) As the story progresses the
police officer is given orders to find a ravaging elephant who was destroying the village in Burma and
its people. Once the officer finds the elephant he contemplates shooting it because it looked so
peaceful. In the end the officer succumbs to the peer pressure from the large crowd following him, and

is the only one of these authors who was pro imperialism. In his poem he repeats the phrase take up
the White Man s burden (The White Man s Burden Rudyard Kipling) because he feels it is their duty
to spread western culture to poorer countries. In this poem Kipling asserts that his culture is superior
therefore, he has an obligation to help these people of other cultures better themselves even if they don
t want to change or be helped. Europe asserted their superiority not just to help less industrialized
nations, but also to exploit them for their land and

Speech On Pitch Deck Structure
So, you ve broken the ice and given the investor a killer elevator pitch on your business idea.
You ve hooked them in with your idea and the possible gains the investor might enjoy by hopping on
board.
So, what now?
Just hand over the checkbook?
Well, not quite.
You now have to delve deeper to drawing in the investor and impressing them with a pitch deck.
In the first part of this guide, I ve introduced you to the concept of pitch deck and the best time to
present it to investors.
Let s now turn attention to how you should build and structure your pitch deck.
To do this, I m first going to introduce you to the most common pitch deck structures out there and
with those in mind move on to exploring the building blocks of a good ... Show more content on

So, let s look at the four examples.
Guy Kawasaki Simplicity at the core
Guy Kawasaki was evangelising Apple when other people weren t.
I m throwing it out there, because it shows the guy is about innovation and he has an eye for knowing
when a business works.
He s been involved in countless companies from Mercedes Benz to Garage.com.
He knows about VCs because he founded a matchmaking service to connect investors with
entrepreneurs.
It s no wonder then that his pitch deck is often the most cited template for pitching to VCs. Kawasaki s
reputation in the business world oozes knowledge.
So, what does a man behind so many successful ventures advocate in terms of pitch decks?
Simplicity.
He follows his 10/20/30 rule of PowerPoint. This means, you have a pitch deck with ten slides, your
pitch lasts no longer than 20 minutes, and the font can t be smaller than 30 points.
How does Kawasaki structure his files?

Reflection Class Reflection
This second reflection period has been different from the first in that the defacto divides among those
in the class have been realigned. Furthermore, this reflection period has enabled many factors of my
classmate s identities to become apparent. While I believe the topics were less controversial during
this period, I believe that the selected readings and a greater degree of variation in my classmate s
opinions made this period much more disputed. Additionally, the topics reviewed have ushered to the
forefront several students who until now had remained in the background. I count myself among the
students who became more comfortable and assured during this reflection period. By now, I am pretty
confident that I have gotten to know my classmates well enough to relatively understand the
components of their identities that impact their perspectives. In the same manner, I believe that I have
been able to participate in these topics more frequently and have thus presented more of my own
identity to my classmates. This change in classroom dynamics and the relevance of the readings to my
own identity has thus impacted my ability to be more substantive a key goal I had for this second
reflection period. While my classmates have still occasionally questioned the relevance of my
responses to the readings, I am confident that my participation has greatly increased during this
period.
Regarding the Sex Isn t Gender piece, my classmates commented that my response was very well

Fighting
Fighting, or kumite, is the freestyle use of moves one has learned. During this freestyle match, the
students may use any technique they have learned in their training for either defensive or offensive
purposes. Fighting is involved with probably only 30 % of skill the student has. However, this is a
very important part of the whole. As mention earlier, katas help in perfecting the moves and the focus
of executing them. On the other hand, fighting employs these moves.
Practicing in fighting will assist in the timing and rhythm of the execution of the move. In a kata you
have as long as you want to throw each kick, each block, each punch, and as much time to move into
the next stance.
During a fight, you must use these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of blocking all of these attacks, you can stop them. If you block the kick and follow up quickly
with your own set of attacks this will surprise the opponent and interrupt his rhythm. The only way to
get a good grasp on these ideas mentioned is to practice.
The only way to become a good fighter is to practice fighting. I don t mean to go out on the streets and
pick a fight with one person after another. Not only is that stupid it is also illegal. I mean to practice
fighting in a controlled environment where both fighters have respect for one another.
Fighters having respect for one another doesn t mean they are going to take it easy on each other , it
means that if one is knocked to the ground the other isn t going to jump on top of him and continue
beating the crap out of him or if a good punch or kick is thrown the fighter getting hit should
acknowledge the attack and not get pissed off.
The Tae Kwon Do style of fighting is different than many other styles of martial arts fighting. Tae
kwon do could best be described as street fighting. It is mainly composed of kicks punches and blocks,
however there are a few take downs and throws. When a throw or take down is executed in TKD, one
or two attacks are executed at the downed opponent, after that the attacker backs away. This is because
TKD is not wrestling or rolling around on the ground throwing

Happy Documentary Analysis
In Happy by Roko Belic (a 2011 documentary), All I want is to be happy in life was a reoccurring
statement from the people in the film. A majority of people in today s world agree with that statement.
Everyone wants to be happy, but what truly defines happiness? The Happy documentary presents
different things that make certain people happy, and what influences their feelings. The film does not
only imply that direct message, but also paints a bigger picture for the audience. The bigger picture
being: how ecology is the main factor behind people s happiness. The director of this film combines
real experiences from people around the world along with research from scientists to explain our
simple emotion, happiness.
The filmmakers really amplified the idea that everyone can become happier. They filmed people from
many different cultures around the world, to show that there are no barriers for being happy. Rather
than starting the film with an interview from an average American, Happy began with an Indian
rickshaw driver sharing his daily lifestyle. Although it may have seemed like a hard, tiring, and
anticlimactic lifestyle to the audience, he was happy. The narrator reports, Research shows that he was
as happy as the average American. This may seem unrealistic for the audience at first, considering the
audience is still discovering this principle that happiness is diverse for other individuals. Especially for
an audience member who finds that a majority of their happiness is related with money, this moment
in the film may have not been easy for them to comprehend. This part of the film really amplifies the
main claim from the director that happiness is mainly influenced by our ecology. The Indian rickshaw
driver found most of his happiness when he came home, and interacted with his son. The idea of
ecology has a lot to with the social interaction between individuals of the same species, in this case, it
was the interaction between the rickshaw driver and his son. Not only did the interaction with his son
brighten his mood, but his interaction with his neighbors also brought him to be happy.
The film then proceeds to reveal some of the science behind our happiness and how happiness is
measured. The film

Sor Juana Ines De La American Colonialism Analysis
The theme of colonialism has been one that I have found to be particularly interesting. Looking at this
theme with a contemporary lens, I think has caused me to lose sight of what its real intentions were. I
believe that this theme was meant to show the people that the taking of these new lands does not
comes easy, particularly when there are people already living there. One thing colonialism always
does, is make sure that of it the conquerors are always glorified, while the conquered are mainly
silenced. Colonialism s main goal is the justification of either the enslavement or genocide of the
native peoples, claiming to be saving these natives. As is stated in an online textbook by OpenStax
The exploits of the most famous Spanish explorers have provided Western civilization with a narrative
of European supremacy and Indian savagery. we see that the reason for colonialism is to gain power
by any means necessary. This is where colonialism does not work for me, it is simply an excuse for
their destruction of a culture. After reading the works of two great spanish playwrights, Sor Juana Ines
de la Cruz and Pedro Calderon de la Barca, in which they use this theme to drive their plot. These two
texts explore colonialism in two very different ways. Loa to the Divine Narcissus by Sor Juana de la
Cruz s play uses religion as the main tool for the Spanish, to colonize the natives. Is Spain Christianity
is the driving force behind their culture, and they use this as their main

A critical factor in the management of people today is the ability to handle every challenging
employee situation with the appropriate communication and actions. One of the most difficult types of
employees to manage is the Passive Aggressive who refuses to accept constructive feedback and tries
to stir up discontent among other employees. In order to be successful in the management of the
Passive Aggressive Employee, there has to be a planned approach, which includes effective
communication, consequences, and actions.
This article discusses the effect feedback has on an employee or subordinate, and evaluates the most
appropriate way to deliver feedback. Negative feedback given in a positive manner can be very ...

(40) The authors also note that failure to address the bullying behavior can lead to adverse
consequences for the consumer, the organization, and the profession. (40)
This article looks at challenging behavior in the clinical setting, and gives advice on how to develop
an Action Plan for Education and Training. The author looks at challenging behavior from more of an
interactional viewpoint instead of a judgmental viewpoint. The goal is to understand what instigated
the behavior, and why certain reactions caused the situation to escalate. The key to handling
challenging behavior is education and training. The training should include different ways to deal with
the staff s response to the challenging behavior as well as the environmental influences that might
influence the behavior. Through increased education and training, the staff will gain a better
understanding about how the behavior affects them personally, how the situation could have provoked
the behavior, and how to prevent environmental influences from provoking a challenging behavioral
response.
The study confirms the fact that there has to be a planned educated approach to manage any difficult
employee or patient situation. Taking an educated approach instead of a judgmental approach will help
promote solutions that are more effective, communication, and actions.

Secondly, I am not against having an abortion done to save the mother s life. My third and fourth
points are somewhat related: third I am against using abortion as a sole form of birth control; and
fourth I am not against the use of morning after pills to help prevent a pregnancy from taking place.
And my fifth and final point made in this paper, is that I am against having an abortion to avoid giving
birth to some sort of a deformed baby. When taking all of my points into consideration, one can easily

Elvis Presley Essay
Elvis Presley Essay When historians look at history and at reasons why society changed many focus
on conflicts like wars, civil rights, and poverty. However, there is so much more that over time
changed America. One of the most influential subjects that helped this change was Elvis Presley.
Through his music, which was influenced by black artists, he allowed white Americans to view a new
group of performers. He tested social boundaries that helped him change American culture. His
appearance and singing would end up changing the teenage world by introducing new trends in
fashion and music. Presley was the reason why we have Rock N Roll. As a business and a singer, he

Elvis s music allowed them to be able to hear the amazing sound that came from this specific type of
music. This began to bring the younger generations of different races together by liking one specific
thing causing a huge change in society. Elvis s clothing would also help to change America. White
adults believed that Elvis dressed like a black person. He would wear baggy pants, leather jackets and
a pink shirt with its collar up. More white teenagers would start to wear more types of clothing like
this. White teenagers started to shop in stores that were owned by black businessmen. This was
something that was just simply never done. Elvis s dancing was the last part of him that would cause
tension in America. He would dance sexually with hip thrusts and moving that was inappropriate. This
would start a tread of new dancing though the teenagers. This upset adults that their children were
more open about their sexuality. Simply, Elvis would start treads which can still be seen today. This
was the start of the African American culture being mixed with mainstream culture. Teens would
change not only by the new treads but by the mixing of different races and cultures. White and black
teenagers would be in the same audiences listening to the same type of music. Today this does not
seem like a very big deal but during this time the civil rights movement was just beginning to start to

Christianity In The Early Middle Ages Essay
Christianity in Europe during the Medieval Period encountered many hindrances such as corruption,
sex, the Avignon Captivity, and the Great Schism. However, even though the church encountered
many controversies which eventually undermined the foundation of the church, monastic revival
reformed the church and ultimately restored the original beliefs.
Corruption was present in many forms within the church during the medieval period. Many clergy
members were landowners in late medieval Christianity and if they were not, the church would count
on the nobles to share their profits from their peasants work. (Christian History, 2015) It was also
familiar for members of clergy to buy their positions in order to obtain power and wealth. Priests were
also known for visiting taverns, gambling, and having orgies with quarrels and blasphemy. (Arnold,
1999)
From the Early Middle Ages, through the reign of Charlemagne, the church accentuated the
importance of clerical celibacy, however by Carolingian times, it became apparent that clerical
celibacy would be impossible to enforce. The church disclosed that not all ... Show more content on

This behavior is a fixed action pattern. A proximate explanation for this would be that the behavior is
triggered by the sign stimulus of an object outside the nest. Once started, the behavior must be

Circannual rhythms are based on the cycles of light and dark in the environment. If global climate

Miss Brill Literary Analysis
Attempting to escape her own reality Miss Brill from Katherine Mansfield s short story Miss Brill ,
creates a fantasy world where she doesn t have to face the reality of her lonely insecure life, until it all
comes crashing down in front of her in a matter of moments. This story, although really short is very
compelling because the author has managed to put the reader inside of Miss Brills mind letting us in
on all her insecurities and thoughts. Out of fear, people build walls isolating themselves from society.
Consequently, causing them to go all their life being lonely and miserable. Fear of loneliness being the
central theme is emphasized with major symbols throughout this story. The author suggests that being

Book Review Of The Rhetorical Analysis Of Myth sGene
1. I was beginning to see that Phineas could get away with anything. I couldn t help envying him that
a little, which was perfectly normal. There was no harm in envying even your best friend a little. 25
Gene s inner dialogue is crucial since it gives the audience a chance to reveal his true colors.
Throughout the book, he seems to make logical excuses for his delusional actions. Technically, there
isn t harm in envying your best friend, but the way that Gene is carrying this conversation with
himself makes me believe that his logic is unstable. That in this case, there is going to be harm in
envying your best friend. This quote foreshadows that something bad will happen to their friendship.

The world, through his unleashed emotions, imprinted itself upon him, and he carries the stamp of that

spending 2 3 years in global product development, the more experienced managers usually returned to
their home region. This clearly highlights Access and Legitimacy paradigm.(Additional reading)
 Exhibit 5 mentions about the SOS Racisme trial in 2006 (Referred internet for details). In a
campaign to promote shampoo line in supermarkets outside Paris, L oreal hired saleswomen, but
nonwhite women were excluded from promoting the shampoo. This example clearly demonstrates that
although L oreal policies propagated diversity but it was not a part of the DNA of the organization.
 The feedback evaluation highlights that diversity was not integrated in the core of the culture

The Cultural Value Of Food Market
In recent years the average consumer is often faced with a choice on where to buy their groceries. The
food that we purchase in stores sometimes makes us ask ourselves if the groceries that consumers are
buying daily are real items found in nature or a substance that was created by a scientist in a
laboratory. The foods that we eat as consumers of the United States are usually created by genetically
modified ingredients while other foods can be classified as organic and not contain any of the harmful
additives and preservatives that consumers are addicted to in food that they consume everyday. Some
grocery stores care about mass profits and getting the consumer into their store, while others are more
concerned about the source of where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, purity from such thoughts would be a cure from pain and suffering. (The Complete Idiot s

In the book entitled Ethical Wisdom, Journalist Mark Matousek captures ideas from cognitive
psychology, philosophy, and evolutionary biology to explain why people choose (or not) to do the
right thing. Matousek also exposes many of our behaviors, including why we overestimate our
goodness and misevaluate the power of situations to bring out our sense of living a moral life, and
why we allow ourselves to cheat. Extracting on the latest scientific discoveries and interviews with
social scientists, spiritual leaders, ex cons, and philosophers, Ethical Wisdom is a helpful and
important book for readers discovering their own sense of a moral path. After reading Ethical Wisdom
readers will have a better mindset on what it means to live a moral life. With the theme of morality,
comes a happier and healthier life. This allows consumers to have a better understanding on what
kinds of foods are healthier for you versus those are bad for you your overall health. Living a life of
purity relates to the way that Whole Foods is portraying the image of purity to their consumers.

Nature Vs Nurture Personality
In psychology the question of what factor affecting personality most has been constantly debated with
many theories around the conclusion. The two factors concerning nurture or nature have been picked
apart and compared and contrasted to see what might be a dominant factor. It still seems that one is
not more overpowering than the other but the question still remains of what is the leading trait in
personality? Personality is how we interact to the world around us and our behaviors we express. The
underlying causes although and why each and every person is uniquely different with a personality all
their own is from the nature and nurture perspective. Personality in a technical sense is described as

nurture can be correct, each person has their own opinion. More facts are being discovered on both
sides each day to support either nature or nurture. I know from my point of view that both are very
important but with the help of changing the environment, it could help change negative trait s in a
personality. Either way we are all individual with no two personalities exactly identical. Both nature
and nurture are important, yet it is all in how you perceive it. Each one impacts our personality in
more ways than one. To conclude I say that overall the affect of nurture, environment plays a greater
impact based on the evidence I gave above. We all gain genetic traits from our parents, but our
environment and our availability to knowledge to handle those traits can affect the personality as

Payless Shoes Research Paper
As much as I love fashionable clothing, truth be told that it is the accessories that make the outfit,
especially the shoes. I am a self identified shoe aholic, so much so that I own shoes that I don t wear!
Tragic, I know. Living in Springfield, I don t have a ton of places I can get affordable, fashionable
shoes. But never the less, there are a couple of highly recommended places to visit if you come to my
town. The first is Payless, since going high fashion , Payless has really stepped up with the collection.
As an affiliate of Payless on my blog, I am aware of all the sales at least a day before they happen. The
one thing I love about Payless is that you can go into the store just about any time throughout the year

I like simple colors and patterns, and I m not huge on belts, scarves or a lot of jewelry. The one thing
that I really enjoy though, are shoes. Shoes, I honestly believe, are a girl s best friend. I know, I know,
most people say diamonds are. But, diamonds are usually given. Shoes, on the other hand, you can
buy yourself. Diamonds are expensive. Shoes don t have to be. Those are just a few quick reasons why
shoes are a must have accessory for me. Here s a couple more. Shoes can make or break an outfit. I
firmly believe this. For instance, today I wore a pair of plaid pants and a black shirt. But my shoes
were 3 inch black heels with a ruffle. And I m pretty sure that s all anyone noticed about my outfit.
Now I debated between those and a pair of bright yellow sandals. I chose the heel because they were
more dramatic, which makes an outfit. If I had worn something else, it would have been a completely
boring outfit, but the shoes made it an interesting one. Shoes can express who you are. I work in an
office, where the norm is business casual. Which is nice, but sometimes you want to dress it up a little
bit. But, in an office full of business casual people, you don t want to show up and be completely
overdressed or dressed inappropriately. The way I fix this is by wearing a pair of bright red heels or a
pair of ruffled heels. They are fancy, but not over the top. They dress up an outfit without changing it

Policies in the United States by Venkata R Prasad Goparaju Date: 15 October 2008 Every country has
societal values and principles that are derived from and are the basic for the evolution of respective
civilizations. These principles may vary in response to changing conditions and perceptions as is
evident, say for instance, from the works of Smith (2003). Such values and traditions were collectively
termed as Dominant Social Paradigm by Pirages and Ehrlich in 1974 (as cited in Kilbourne,

The Religious Life Of Theological Students
Winsomely presented, B.B. Warfield is well known for his scholarship with no exception seen here, In
The Religious Life of Theological Students. Here as seminary students, we must chiefly be Godly
men, apt to teach with the added passion of devotion driven by our love of God. As a result of our love
for God, we are encouraged to have in our vocation a devotion with zeal and piety. We are to be as
Warfield puts it; God made, meaning a minister is called, shaped and developed divinely by God s
decree and power thereby being made worthy through the process of God s call upon their life.
Warnings against pitfalls As religious men, we should avoid the peril of becoming so engrossed in our
theological studies that we neglect our personal devotion. Warfield s caveat to us is Christian service
or work alone cannot replace the depth of Christian affection to God. Work does not equal prayer it is
the combination of work and prayer that will develop as ministers. By maintaining a strong devotion
to God we are setting an example of holding fast to the confession of our hope. We must frequently
examine ourselves against God s Word to verify our hearts. It is as Warfield says, we should have our
hearts on fire brightly so that in our innermost being we are men of God. The greatness of our calling
as ministers should flow from the depth of our understanding of the unsurpassed greatness of God.
This understanding should motivate, empower, equip and direct us in our

Arguments Against Animal Euthanasia
On an average year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized in the United States ( Pet
Statistics ). Being that animal euthanasia is a horrible and selfish act, we should stop it and only allow
euthanasia of an animal if they are sick and will not heal or if they are suffering. Animal euthanasia
has been around for years and has been an easy way for a family to put down their precious pet that is
suffering. Killing an animal because they are a stray is not ethical. Stray animals, such as cat and dogs,
that are said to be mean, can be tamed to the point where they could have a new loving home. We, as
human beings, should not be killing innocent animals.
Many people wonder what animal euthanasia is and why it is done. According to an article called,
Animal Rights Compromised: Euthanasia , euthanasia is a sad reality caused by people who abandon
animals, refuse to sterilize their animals, and patronize pet shops and breeders instead of adopting
stray animals or animals from animal shelters ( Animal Rights Compromised: Euthanasia ). In a lot of
cases, animals have been abandoned by their owners. This may be because the owner does not want to

It is selfish and, quite frankly, sickening. Animals should not be killed for any other reason than being

Wartime Propaganda During World War II
Wartime propaganda has always been a beneficial tool for warring nations. Its ability to effectively
persuade, influence, and convince citizens even in a time of distress has made it a vital component of
many war engaged countries. The United States, for example, reaped great benefits by using war
propaganda in World War II. American propaganda helped dramatically increase the sale of war
bonds, rate of civic engagement, and public morale. Although American propaganda during World
War II can be considered as extremely biased and racist, it would have been more difficult to for the
Americans to defeat Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany if propaganda was not used at all. The general

Euphoric advertisements and posters were made to promote the United States and its allies strength,
courage and bravery. A well known example is the 1943 poster, United We Are Strong, United We

with boosting morale, many enthusiastic posters also encouraged women to join the workforce and to
convince their male partners that this activity was normal. As a result, the employment of women
jumped 15 percent from 1941 to 1943. Unfortunately, the United States government also engaged in
racism and discrimination to foster enthusiasm. Many posters and videos were created demonizing the
Japanese, representing them as subhuman and animalistic. Although this type of propaganda
motivated soldiers to fight by making the Japanese seem barbaric and savage, it also worsened
Japanese Americans relationships on home soil. Americans started to discriminate Japanese even
more, eventually forcing them out of their homes and placing them in internment camps, where they

It is remarkable that, for about 60 years thereafter, the High Court managed to pull on with just 7
Judges, although with advancing years, the laws and the litigation both multiplied. There were no
indications that this limited Bench was found inadequate to cope with the work, till about 1919. With
the armistice at the termination of the First World War, there was sudden spurt of litigation in the City
of Bombay. The number of Suites filed on Original Side, which during War had dwindled down to
about 500 rose to about 7000, that the Prothonotary found it difficult to prepare daily boards for 3
Judges. It was only then that an additional Judge was demanded and was grudgingly granted . Bombay
was lucky or unlucky in having at this crisis a Chief Justice of exceptional caliber, Sir Norman
Mcleod, who instead of multiplying Judges preferred to massacre suits and appeals.
The Charter of the High Court also made it the supreme and final court of appeal in all cases, civil and

legal, demanding a further appeal to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

Mark Clayton s A Whole Lot Of Cheating
Cheating for many is simply a way of life. For others it is a sin in which they would never think to
commit. For students in todays world they are stuck in the middle. Many students see cheating as the
only way of passing a class. Where other students see as it as a last resort. No matter what side
students are on, cheating is wrong, but even though it is wrong and extremely risky millions of
students around the nation do it on a daily basis just to get by. Cheating is exactly what Mark Clayton
talks about in the article tittle, A Whole Lot of Cheatin Going On. The word that is most often
associated with cheating is plagiarism. A word that makes students like myself cringe at the thought.
The reason being if caught in this act of despair it can simply ruin your life, your academic life that is.
Throughout the article Mark Clayton makes many good points about cheating, but because of his lack
of opinions it takes a little more reading between the lines to find out his position on the touchy
subject. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clayton says Whether copying another students homework, cheating on a test, or plagiarizing an
essay, cheating is limited only by imagination and technology. With this remark I have disagree
mainly due to the fact that indeed technology and a students imagination are both prime suspects when
talking about cheating, but what also needs to be taken into accounts is simply the students mindset
and their motivation. Lets face it in todays world with the internet and endless amount of resources
there is simply no reason to cheat on a paper or an exam. An argument can be made that the growth of
resources has only made it easier to cheat for many students. For many college students the one thing
that keeps them from cheating and motivated is the thought of hoisting that diploma high in the air and
knowing in knowing in their heart and minds that they did it all on their

Control In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Control Loving People Introduction Control is the power to influence or direct people s behavior or

the need to control many different situations and people. Including, Theseus who dominated his wife,

Voting Is A Right That All Americans
Voting is a right that all Americans have once hitting the age of 18 regardless of race, gender, or
financial status. However, not everyone chooses to exercise these rights or even fully understands how
to use them properly. Voting is not as simple as just going to a ballot box and checking the box for the
person whom had the most signs and television commercials. Being a voter means that one has an
influence over the government and who makes important decisions regarding the nation or state.
However, if one does not know all of the details about who they are voting for, they could be voting
blindly. It is important to do research and make factual decisions about who should be elected. If one
is not fully informed, than the less suitable candidate could be elected into office due to a lack of
information. All of the information necessary to make a strong decision is available, it just depends on
whether or not Americans go through the effort to locate it and use it. Voting for the most desired and
suitable candidate is important whether it is congressional district, senate, or presidency.

Religions Around the World
Numerous people, all around the world, participate in at least one kind of religion which has a great
chance that monasticism is a possible piece that makes up the religion. These religions vary from
place to place and from person to person. Like religion itself, monasticism varies from religion to
religion and from place to place. The variation that often occurs in the monastic aspect of the religion
is in the small aspects of the monastic life instead of a large overall difference. Small aspects include
things such as the part that monasticism plays can range from small with very few men to large with
many men taking vows and becoming monks. This weighs more heavily than an overall difference
would in monasticism. An example of two religions monastic piece being different because of small
aspects is Tibetan Buddhist and Roman Catholics. Although monasticism is a part of both Tibetan
Buddhism and Roman Catholicism, certain aspects are different between the two religions. One of the
ways that Tibetan monks and Roman Catholic monks vary is their origins. Buddhism was introduced
in the seventeenth century to Tibet from the places of China, India, and Central Asia. Tibetan
Buddhists see themselves as an inheritance from Indian Buddhists, who were the main influence in the
beginnings of the spread of Buddhism in Tibet. The school of Buddhism popular in China, India, and
Central Asia is the school of Mahayana, which deals heavily with agricultural trade for their work.

Inspiration or Perspiration
Thomas Alva Edison was a man of great talent and determination. A mind of absolute genius that
withheld spectacular and innovative ideas that Edison, himself, could not wait to share with the world.
The list of inventions and developments Edison is often known for are countless. Creations such as,
the electric light, the telephone transmitter, the phonograph, motion picture, electric storage battery,
and mimeograph machine, are just a mere few of his 1,093 United States patents and thousands more,
from twenty four different nations. Many of Edison s ideas were beyond the world s understanding.
Today, his inventions have greatly influenced the twentieth century, more than one could ever
imagine.
Thomas Edison was born February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio. He lived in Milan for seven years, until
his father decided to further his career and start a business in Port Huron, Michigan. Here, he spent
most of his childhood in a small, red brick home. At this home, Thomas found what he is known for
today. Due to Edison struggle in school and inept in mathematics, his mother, a former teacher,
decided to homeschool him. Though bad at school, Edison was eager to read, especially science
books. His love of science, lead him to start doing chemical and mechanical experiments in the
basement of his small home. This might have been the best decision his mother could have made for

The Train Speeding Along The Tracks Beneath Me
I could hear the sound of the train speeding along the tracks beneath me. Looking outside my window,
I could see a blur of parched grass and vast paddocks of sheep drinking from lakes.
I was in a dim mood. My parents had sent me away from our home town Braedon to spend time with
my grandmother in the country town of Redwood, because, as they bluntly put it, she wouldn t be
around for many more years. I didn t mind visiting my grandpa, but I hated that the fact that I had to
travel out of Braedon. I loved the city the convenience of only being five minutes away from the
shops, carpets of sand stretching across the beach at my doorstep, a joyous community and my friends,
only a short text away.

When I travel, no matter how different the place is to Braedon, I often feel an instant connection. It s
the small details which lead me to find a love for the city. Say, like last year, I found my way into a
remote village in Kenya. It was unforgettable. I can still picture the welcoming locals, smiling at me
and the other tourists...
For the remaining hour of the trip, I reflected on my opinion of travelling. All my life, I lived in the
city and due to my routined lifestyle, I was rarely anywhere unfamiliar. I disliked travelling as I feared
being alone, facing something new. Yet after talking to Chris, I began to realise the golden opportunity
I had to experience all the world had to offer to me.
Eventually, the train had come to a halt at my stop Redwood. The deserted train station, which catered
for the whole town, was tiny, with only two short platforms. Along the flat landscape, I could see rows
of houses and the town s church, the steeple proudly and loftily reaching to the clear blue sky.
I farewelled Chris and got off the train with my suitcase. The air was crisp, clean and clear. I thought
of the dusty city air and gridlocked streets with car fumes. How big was this difference? I decided to
forget my past impressions of Redwood and instead try to enjoy my stay with my grandpa.

  • 2. A Research Study On Drug Testing When Pharmaceutical companies are trying to develop a new drug they begin the process of a clinical trial. A clinical trial in drug testing is when researchers test a new drug on live participants and record information such as side effects and results. Recently, pharmaceutical companies are trying to increase their profits so they have been outsourcing. Outsourcing is when clinical trials go to a clinical research organization (CRO), which are big businesses. One crucial step in a clinical trial is informed consent. The participants must know they are part of a research study, the possible risks, and outcomes. This information should be presented in a manor in which the individual can understand. However, after watching the videos this crucial step is sometimes overlooked or not taken seriously during overseas drug testing. Often times testing is done overseas in areas that are over populated and have a large gap between the wealthy and the poor. When researchers are conducting the trial they have been known to just completely skip over this step or they give individuals the information on the clinical trial but the participants are illiterate and unable to understand any part of it. This is seen as unethical practice. Ethically, all participants are required to know they are part of a clinical trial and they need to know all risks and outcomes projected before participating. When government officials were interviewed about the clinical trials they stated that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Tim Tebow Religious Beliefs Tim Tebow, Colin Kaepernick, and Kurt Warner are popular outspoken athletes who express their personal beliefs on the field. Some fans love these athletes expressing their beliefs on the field, but some of their outspoken beliefs are a distraction. Their expression of beliefs have led to more athletes making their personal beliefs known, but not every athlete s personal belief on the field are about religion. The outspoken beliefs of athletes should be banned from professional sports if sports fans believe it is such a problem, but when they do that they should discourage athletes from having any sort of tattoo on them. Professional athletes sharing their personal and religious beliefs on the field, should not be outlawed by sports coaches to express themselves with their personal belief that include religious tattoos on the field, because professional athletes sharing their personal and religious beliefs on the field distract fans from the game. One of these popular athletes is Tim Tebow, acknowledged by many as the greatest player in the history of college football. Tebow went onto play in the National Football League for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets and his popularity provided a platform that he used became expression for his faith. After being traded by the Denver Broncos in 2012, his number fifteen has become the league s highest selling jersey. After the Denver Broncos traded Tebow to the New York Jets in early 2012, Tebow continued to be featured in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What Is Kipling s View On Imperialism Imperialism Imperialism is when a country extends its power and influences through diplomacy or military force. Most imperialism happens when a nation is more industrialized than another and they go to another country to help them industrialize. Throughout history several authors have expressed their feelings toward the controversial subject. I will discuss Mark Twain, George Orwell, and Rudyard Kipling s views on imperialism below by looking into some of their works. When you first read Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell you may think it is a story to entertain you. However, the entire piece is a metaphor about Britain imperialism. Orwell s views on imperialism is quickly identified when he says For at that time I had already made up my mind that imperialism was an evil thing. (Shooting an Elephant George Orwell) As the story progresses the police officer is given orders to find a ravaging elephant who was destroying the village in Burma and its people. Once the officer finds the elephant he contemplates shooting it because it looked so peaceful. In the end the officer succumbs to the peer pressure from the large crowd following him, and he ... In his poem he repeats the phrase take up the White Man s burden (The White Man s Burden Rudyard Kipling) because he feels it is their duty to spread western culture to poorer countries. In this poem Kipling asserts that his culture is superior therefore, he has an obligation to help these people of other cultures better themselves even if they don t want to change or be helped. Europe asserted their superiority not just to help less industrialized nations, but also to exploit them for their land and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Speech On Pitch Deck Structure So, you ve broken the ice and given the investor a killer elevator pitch on your business idea. You ve hooked them in with your idea and the possible gains the investor might enjoy by hopping on board. So, what now? Just hand over the checkbook? Well, not quite. You now have to delve deeper to drawing in the investor and impressing them with a pitch deck. In the first part of this guide, I ve introduced you to the concept of pitch deck and the best time to present it to investors. Let s now turn attention to how you should build and structure your pitch deck. To do this, I m first going to introduce you to the most common pitch deck structures out there and with those in mind move on to exploring the building blocks of a good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, different deck structures can create just as meaningful impact as others. So, let s look at the four examples. Guy Kawasaki Simplicity at the core Guy Kawasaki was evangelising Apple when other people weren t. I m throwing it out there, because it shows the guy is about innovation and he has an eye for knowing when a business works. He s been involved in countless companies from Mercedes Benz to Garage.com. He knows about VCs because he founded a matchmaking service to connect investors with entrepreneurs. It s no wonder then that his pitch deck is often the most cited template for pitching to VCs. Kawasaki s reputation in the business world oozes knowledge.
  • 6. So, what does a man behind so many successful ventures advocate in terms of pitch decks? Simplicity. He follows his 10/20/30 rule of PowerPoint. This means, you have a pitch deck with ten slides, your pitch lasts no longer than 20 minutes, and the font can t be smaller than 30 points. How does Kawasaki structure his files? • 7. Reflection Class Reflection This second reflection period has been different from the first in that the defacto divides among those in the class have been realigned. Furthermore, this reflection period has enabled many factors of my classmate s identities to become apparent. While I believe the topics were less controversial during this period, I believe that the selected readings and a greater degree of variation in my classmate s opinions made this period much more disputed. Additionally, the topics reviewed have ushered to the forefront several students who until now had remained in the background. I count myself among the students who became more comfortable and assured during this reflection period. By now, I am pretty confident that I have gotten to know my classmates well enough to relatively understand the components of their identities that impact their perspectives. In the same manner, I believe that I have been able to participate in these topics more frequently and have thus presented more of my own identity to my classmates. This change in classroom dynamics and the relevance of the readings to my own identity has thus impacted my ability to be more substantive a key goal I had for this second reflection period. While my classmates have still occasionally questioned the relevance of my responses to the readings, I am confident that my participation has greatly increased during this period. Regarding the Sex Isn t Gender piece, my classmates commented that my response was very well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. karate Essay Fighting Fighting, or kumite, is the freestyle use of moves one has learned. During this freestyle match, the students may use any technique they have learned in their training for either defensive or offensive purposes. Fighting is involved with probably only 30 % of skill the student has. However, this is a very important part of the whole. As mention earlier, katas help in perfecting the moves and the focus of executing them. On the other hand, fighting employs these moves. Practicing in fighting will assist in the timing and rhythm of the execution of the move. In a kata you have as long as you want to throw each kick, each block, each punch, and as much time to move into the next stance. During a fight, you must use these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of blocking all of these attacks, you can stop them. If you block the kick and follow up quickly with your own set of attacks this will surprise the opponent and interrupt his rhythm. The only way to get a good grasp on these ideas mentioned is to practice. The only way to become a good fighter is to practice fighting. I don t mean to go out on the streets and pick a fight with one person after another. Not only is that stupid it is also illegal. I mean to practice fighting in a controlled environment where both fighters have respect for one another. Fighters having respect for one another doesn t mean they are going to take it easy on each other , it means that if one is knocked to the ground the other isn t going to jump on top of him and continue beating the crap out of him or if a good punch or kick is thrown the fighter getting hit should acknowledge the attack and not get pissed off. The Tae Kwon Do style of fighting is different than many other styles of martial arts fighting. Tae kwon do could best be described as street fighting. It is mainly composed of kicks punches and blocks, however there are a few take downs and throws. When a throw or take down is executed in TKD, one or two attacks are executed at the downed opponent, after that the attacker backs away. This is because TKD is not wrestling or rolling around on the ground throwing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Happy Documentary Analysis In Happy by Roko Belic (a 2011 documentary), All I want is to be happy in life was a reoccurring statement from the people in the film. A majority of people in today s world agree with that statement. Everyone wants to be happy, but what truly defines happiness? The Happy documentary presents different things that make certain people happy, and what influences their feelings. The film does not only imply that direct message, but also paints a bigger picture for the audience. The bigger picture being: how ecology is the main factor behind people s happiness. The director of this film combines real experiences from people around the world along with research from scientists to explain our simple emotion, happiness. The filmmakers really amplified the idea that everyone can become happier. They filmed people from many different cultures around the world, to show that there are no barriers for being happy. Rather than starting the film with an interview from an average American, Happy began with an Indian rickshaw driver sharing his daily lifestyle. Although it may have seemed like a hard, tiring, and anticlimactic lifestyle to the audience, he was happy. The narrator reports, Research shows that he was as happy as the average American. This may seem unrealistic for the audience at first, considering the audience is still discovering this principle that happiness is diverse for other individuals. Especially for an audience member who finds that a majority of their happiness is related with money, this moment in the film may have not been easy for them to comprehend. This part of the film really amplifies the main claim from the director that happiness is mainly influenced by our ecology. The Indian rickshaw driver found most of his happiness when he came home, and interacted with his son. The idea of ecology has a lot to with the social interaction between individuals of the same species, in this case, it was the interaction between the rickshaw driver and his son. Not only did the interaction with his son brighten his mood, but his interaction with his neighbors also brought him to be happy. The film then proceeds to reveal some of the science behind our happiness and how happiness is measured. The film ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Sor Juana Ines De La American Colonialism Analysis The theme of colonialism has been one that I have found to be particularly interesting. Looking at this theme with a contemporary lens, I think has caused me to lose sight of what its real intentions were. I believe that this theme was meant to show the people that the taking of these new lands does not comes easy, particularly when there are people already living there. One thing colonialism always does, is make sure that of it the conquerors are always glorified, while the conquered are mainly silenced. Colonialism s main goal is the justification of either the enslavement or genocide of the native peoples, claiming to be saving these natives. As is stated in an online textbook by OpenStax The exploits of the most famous Spanish explorers have provided Western civilization with a narrative of European supremacy and Indian savagery. we see that the reason for colonialism is to gain power by any means necessary. This is where colonialism does not work for me, it is simply an excuse for their destruction of a culture. After reading the works of two great spanish playwrights, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz and Pedro Calderon de la Barca, in which they use this theme to drive their plot. These two texts explore colonialism in two very different ways. Loa to the Divine Narcissus by Sor Juana de la Cruz s play uses religion as the main tool for the Spanish, to colonize the natives. The goal is to understand what instigated the behavior, and why certain reactions caused the situation to escalate. The key to handling challenging behavior is education and training. The training should include different ways to deal with the staff s response to the challenging behavior as well as the environmental influences that might influence the behavior. Through increased education and training, the staff will gain a better understanding about how the behavior affects them personally, how the situation could have provoked the behavior, and how to prevent environmental influences from provoking a challenging behavioral response. However, even though the church encountered many controversies which eventually undermined the foundation of the church, monastic revival reformed the church and ultimately restored the original beliefs. Corruption was present in many forms within the church during the medieval period. Many clergy members were landowners in late medieval Christianity and if they were not, the church would count on the nobles to share their profits from their peasants work. Being that animal euthanasia is a horrible and selfish act, we should stop it and only allow euthanasia of an animal if they are sick and will not heal or if they are suffering. Animal euthanasia has been around for years and has been an easy way for a family to put down their precious pet that is suffering. Killing an animal because they are a stray is not ethical. Stray animals, such as cat and dogs, that are said to be mean, can be tamed to the point where they could have a new loving home. We, as human beings, should not be killing innocent animals. Many people wonder what animal euthanasia is and why it is done. According to an article called, Animal Rights Compromised: Euthanasia , euthanasia is a sad reality caused by people who abandon animals, refuse to sterilize their animals, and patronize pet shops and breeders instead of adopting stray animals or animals from animal shelters ( Animal Rights Compromised: Euthanasia ). Its ability to effectively persuade, influence, and convince citizens even in a time of distress has made it a vital component of many war engaged countries. The United States, for example, reaped great benefits by using war propaganda in World War II. American propaganda helped dramatically increase the sale of war bonds, rate of civic engagement, and public morale. Although American propaganda during World War II can be considered as extremely biased and racist, it would have been more difficult to for the Americans to defeat Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany if propaganda was not used at all. Euphoric advertisements and posters were made to promote the United States and its allies strength, courage and bravery. A well known example is the 1943 poster, United We Are Strong, United We Will Win , displaying artillery guns decorated with the flags of the Allies, all firing in unison. Along with boosting morale, many enthusiastic posters also encouraged women to join the workforce and to convince their male partners that this activity was normal. As a result, the employment of women jumped 15 percent from 1941 to 1943. Unfortunately, the United States government also engaged in racism and discrimination to foster enthusiasm. Many posters and videos were created demonizing the Japanese, representing them as subhuman and animalistic. Although this type of propaganda motivated soldiers to fight by making the Japanese seem barbaric and savage, it also worsened Japanese Americans relationships on home soil. It is remarkable that, for about 60 years thereafter, the High Court managed to pull on with just 7 Judges, although with advancing years, the laws and the litigation both multiplied. There were no indications that this limited Bench was found inadequate to cope with the work, till about 1919. With the armistice at the termination of the First World War, there was sudden spurt of litigation in the City of Bombay. The number of Suites filed on Original Side, which during War had dwindled down to about 500 rose to about 7000, that the Prothonotary found it difficult to prepare daily boards for 3 Judges. It was only then that an additional Judge was demanded and was grudgingly granted . Bombay was lucky or unlucky in having at this crisis a Chief Justice of exceptional caliber, Sir Norman Mcleod, who instead of multiplying Judges preferred to massacre suits and appeals. The Charter of the High Court also made it the supreme and final court of appeal in all cases, civil and criminal, decided by inferior courts, except such as possessed the requisite importance, pecuniary or legal, demanding a further appeal to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

No matter what side students are on, cheating is wrong, but even though it is wrong and extremely risky millions of students around the nation do it on a daily basis just to get by. Cheating is exactly what Mark Clayton talks about in the article tittle, A Whole Lot of Cheatin Going On. The word that is most often associated with cheating is plagiarism. A word that makes students like myself cringe at the thought. The reason being if caught in this act of despair it can simply ruin your life, your academic life that is. Throughout the article Mark Clayton makes many good points about cheating, but because of his lack of opinions it takes a little more reading between the lines to find out his position on the touchy subject. ... With this remark I have disagree mainly due to the fact that indeed technology and a students imagination are both prime suspects when talking about cheating, but what also needs to be taken into accounts is simply the students mindset and their motivation. Lets face it in todays world with the internet and endless amount of resources there is simply no reason to cheat on a paper or an exam. An argument can be made that the growth of resources has only made it easier to cheat for many students. For many college students the one thing that keeps them from cheating and motivated is the thought of hoisting that diploma high in the air and knowing in knowing in their heart and minds that they did it all on their ... Looking outside my window, I could see a blur of parched grass and vast paddocks of sheep drinking from lakes. I was in a dim mood. My parents had sent me away from our home town Braedon to spend time with my grandmother in the country town of Redwood, because, as they bluntly put it, she wouldn t be around for many more years. I didn t mind visiting my grandpa, but I hated that the fact that I had to travel out of Braedon. I can still picture the welcoming locals, smiling at me and the other tourists... For the remaining hour of the trip, I reflected on my opinion of travelling. All my life, I lived in the city and due to my routined lifestyle, I was rarely anywhere unfamiliar. I disliked travelling as I feared being alone, facing something new. Yet after talking to Chris, I began to realise the golden opportunity I had to experience all the world had to offer to me. Eventually, the train had come to a halt at my stop Redwood. The deserted train station, which catered for the whole town, was tiny, with only two short platforms. Along the flat landscape, I could see rows of houses and the town s church, the steeple proudly and loftily reaching to the clear blue sky. I farewelled Chris and got off the train with my suitcase. The air was crisp, clean and clear. I thought of the dusty city air and gridlocked streets with car fumes. How big was this difference?
