Compare And Contrast Jamestown Virginia And Massachusetts...
In the years 1607 and 1630, the world saw the beginning of two very important English colonies;
Jamestown, Virginia and the Massachusetts Bay Colony. England had many reasons behind their
colonization. A major reason was the idea of Mercantilism, a concept in which colonies are said to
exist solely for the benefit of their mother country. The Virginia Company went to Jamestown in 1606
in hope of using the land to cultivate crops and to make a living. In 1630, the Non Separatist Puritans
went to the New England Area in hopes of setting up a religious commonwealth for the people. Unlike
the Separatists of Plymouth, who wanted to separate from the Church, the Non Separatists wanted to
reform the Church under the rule of Governor John Winthrop. ... Show more content on

Due to the fact that the colony of Virginia had a dominant skill, the cultivation of tobacco, which was
introduced by John Rolfe in the year 1611, Virginia had much success. Tobacco was an enumerated
good, which was beneficial because eventually, the Navigation Acts favored the colonies that had
enumerated goods (a good that the colony specialized in). The tobacco cultivation began the year after
the period known as the starving time in Virginia. Our ordinary food was but meal and water so that
this...little relieved our wants, whereby with the extremity of the bitter cold frost...more than half of us
died (Doc 6). John Smith wrote this article 17 years after the foundation of Virginia. He discussed in it
the hardships that the colonists had to go through in order to understand how to achieve a perfect
colony to live in. Jamestown was an aristocratic society because they were based upon a major
plantation economy. The people of Virginia were very selfish and cared more about the individual,
than about their community as a whole. They focused on the Headwrights System, a system in which
the government of Jamestown offered land to every settler that paid for an indentured servant from
England. The indentured servants were told that they would receive land if they worked for seven
years. The lack of land led to a lack of workers, which brought about the lowest class in 1619, the

Short Essay On William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare Have you ever watched the movie Romeo and Juliet. Said that you were in a
pickle, or that you were in a wild goose chase ? If so, you are quoting Shakespeare. Shakespeare made
up words, and used words from the speech of Elizabethan England. Then, he took these words and put
them into writing. This influenced the English language, which is why we say these sayings today. He
is considered the greatest writer in the English language and playwright of all time. Shakespeare was
also part of a good family. (Applebee,983) Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon, right outside
of London. He was baptized there in 1564, the same year in which he was born. He was three of eight
children, but three of his siblings died when they were still young. There is no record of Shakespeare
ever going to school for any education. His father was a hardworking man to stay out of debt. But to
have more money and a better social status he married Shakespeare s mother, Mary Arden. His mother
was the daughter of a wealthy landowner. Both of his parents were practicing Catholics when it was
established. It was not accepted by many people during this time. When he got older he fell in love at
a young age.(History,2018) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following their marriage, they had a daughter, Susanna. Then, two years later, they had twins, Hamnet
and Judith. Though, his son Hamnet died at age 11, but his other children grew older. It was also said
that Shakespeare and Anne lived apart when he went into his writing and theater career in London. It
was not until the end of his life when the two started to live together again. Shakespeare also
disappeared the same year his twins were baptised, in 1585. He was gone until 1592, when Robert
Greene denounced his name in a pamphlet. Then, after his seven years of being lost , he began
working as an actor and playwright.

Virgin Mary
Looking at this sculpture the Pieta of Virgin Mary and her son Jesus Christ, we see an intimate image
that this sculpture expresses, and the extraordinary relationship that the artist Michelangelo has
constructed between the body of the dead Christ and his mother Virgin Mary as she holds him on her
lap. Mary comes across as young and beautiful, however her lower body seems much larger than her
this is because her lower body needs to be enlarged for her to be able to carry her son. As Mary s right
arm holds up her sons right arm in an attempt to support him, we see Christ s skin getting pulled this

Looking at Mary we see this fascinating conflict in her kindness and the beauty, as well as the strength
and scale that is needed for her to effortlessly hold him. Mary s attire shows how deeply carved in the

looks complicated. It s also see through and can make out her shaped breasts that are visible through
her dress. Her head is tilted forward looking down at her son in her lap with a look of sorrow she
wears a head gear that covers her whole head and drapes behind her back. Her left hand is open and
pointing softly forward as if she is still trying to wrap her head around her sons death. Her facial
expression shows unhappiness eyes looking down at her son and still at grip with the fact her son has
passed. Her eyes are unseen due the fact that her eyes are casted downwards and in the process her
eyelids are covering them. Lines under her eyes lines on her eyelids to make eyelids visible so that it

Social learning theory has already been begun to find its place in criminology. Various models and
tactics are being tested among criminals or individuals with deviant behavior. Within the field of
criminal justice there is always a task to try to understand the behaviors or intent of an individuals and
this is often achieved by understanding social learning factors. Social learning theory is growing a
place when it comes to government policies or agencies. This is because many times before an agency,
government funded program, or policy be implemented in regards to learning or education social
learning and purpose are vital. Educational programs and agencies before receiving government funds
need to provide explanation how models such as social learning will be used and the results expected
in addition to why there is a need. Klasen Crombag (2013) explain that examples are more evident
with low income populations with high crime rates where social learning interventions are needed to

Cause And Effect Of Stress On College Students
According to a study by the Associated Press and mtvU, eight in 10 college students say they have
sometimes or frequently experienced stress in their daily lives over the past three months, ( Stress in
College Students ). College Students are inevitably going to be affected by stress at some point
throughout their college experience; however, the cause of the stress can vary by student. Some of the
causes of stress on college students can be tests, homework, home life, social life, and jobs. Many
times, college students have all or most of these causes piled on top of one another; therefore, giving
them extremely high levels of stress. There are many negative effects of stress on college students. To
begin, one effect of stress on college students is physical health problems. Some of these problems can
include internal stomach problems, weight gain, and even weight loss. When people are stressed, they
tend to focus on the stressor rather than their own health. For example, college students can
experience internal stomach problems because of the amount of stress they are under. According to
Doctor Michael Craig Miller from Harvard Medical School, functional gastrointestinal disorders have
many different causes but stress in particular can cause these problems to arise (Miller). This goes to
show that stress can largely affect college students physical health. Aside from stomach issues, many
college students experience weight gain or weight loss. The Freshman 15 is a

Pride And Prejudice Predicting The Future Of Women Essay

Pride and Prejudice: Predicting the future of the Modern Woman. Women are complex and difficult
beings that may, or may not, be meant to be fully understood by the brain of their male counterparts.
In terms of independence women rightfully deserve their own apart from men, needing the privacy to
freely think and judge things on their own. An overbearing male can destroy the female thoughts with
the influence of their own independent thoughts. Women were made different, but not as different,
from men for a purpose although people have differentiating reasons of their own opinions. Although
women were not always bold enough to speak or even think about how they deserved independence
and privacy from men, the notion was always there, even in women who lived hundreds of years ago.
In Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice the main character, Elizabeth Bennet, embodies what was to
become of most modern day women, seeking the privacy from men to obtain her own form of
independence and free will. Her constant rejection of being publicly open towards males gives her the

Khan Academy explains, The second law of motion states that force on an object is equal to the mass
of the object multiplied by its acceleration. If we apply this law to a football, it tells us that the amount
that the ball accelerates depends on the force applied by the quarterback and the mass of the ball. (
Football Physics ). The less mass a ball has the further it s potential to travel is. The lighter the ball is,
the faster and further the ball can move. Additionally, Khan Academy writes, The second law also tells
us that acceleration of the football also depends on the mass of the football. If the player is throwing
an extra heavy football, the acceleration of the football would decrease compared to a lighter football
that is thrown with the same force. ( Football Physics ). This quote explains that the lighter a ball is,
the farther a ball can be thrown. Also, the farthest a ball can be thrown depends on the amount of force
the person throwing applies to the ball. ( Football Physics ). When a ball is lighter due to less air
pressure, the quarterback will be able to throw it further. The less mass makes the ball lighter, and this
will allow the wind to be able to carry the ball

Sports Illustrated writer, Lee Jenkins, writes about the impact of a small town football coach had on
his community, before and after death in the article A Good Man Down. The author explains the life of
Ed Thomas, the head coach for the Apilington Parkersburg football team in Iowa. Ed Thomas was shot
and killed while training his athletes by Mark Becker. Lee Jenkins begins by using very detail
accounts to bring out the pathos of the town, bringing the audience to feel emotionally connected to
the town of Parkersburg. In the beginning of this article Jenkins explains the importance of the field to
Ed Thomas. Every morning Ed walked the field, looking for any imperfection to correct. Dave Meyer,
the Apilington Parkersburg principal said, It s probably the best field in the state. The field was so
import to Ed Thomas and he took such great care of it that it was even named after him. The field has
standard issue metal bleachers, no box office, no fancy scoreboard. What makes it special, what makes
it sacred, is the love that Thomas poured into the turf. Ed Thomas did anything he could help the town
out. On some Sundays, he d fill in for the pastor if they were not able to preach. He gave newborn
boys FUTURE FALCONS certificates. He did everything from being a driver s ed instructor to
mowing his precious field. He had no idea how much more of an impact he would have.

Puritans And Pilgrims In The New England Colonies
Puritans and Pilgrims settled in the New England colonies of Massachusetts, Rode Island,
Connecticut, and New Hampshire. The Puritans came to seek religious freedom and new settlements
and to escape the religious persecution they were facing in England. The colonies in New England had
sandy coasts with assessable ports, forest hills, and flat woodlands. The soil was thin and rocky which
was bad for farming. Lumbering, trading, shipbuilding, fishing, and whaling were all common
occupations in the New England colonies. Slavery was allowed In the New England colonies,
however very few people had slaves. The soil made it difficult to grow crops, so most colonist had
small independent farms they could care for on their own, the colonist only grew enough food to feed
their families and didn t have enough to feed slaves. (https://prezi.com/vnfchvubifzb/the new england

highly influenced by religion. When New England sailed over, they found a developed region with a
lot of Native Americans. The English and Native Americans didn t get along very well. The English
people thought Native Americans were inferior on how they lived. The English people got farming
and other skills from the Native people. The four Middle Colonies were New York, Pennsylvania,

Number Systems Complex Numbers The earliest reference to complex numbers is from Hero of
Alexandria s work Stereometrica in the 1st century AD, where he contemplates the volume of a
frustum of a pyramid.
The proper study first came about in the 16th century when algebraic answers for roots of cubics and
quartics were revealed by Italian mathematicians Tartaglia and Cardano. For example, Tartaglia s
formula for a cubic equation x^3=x gives the solution as 1/√3 ((√( 1))^(1/3)+1/(√( 1))^(1/3) ). ... Show

For example, the treatment of resistors, capacitors, and inductors are unified by combining them in a
single complex number called the impedance, which is the measure of the opposition that a circuit
presents to a current when a certain voltage is applied.
Algebra The Quadratic Formula Early methods for solving quadratic equations were purely geometric.
Babylonian tablets contained problems which could be reduced to solving quadratic equations. The
Egyptian Berlin Papyrus (2050 1650 BC) contains the solution to a two term quadratic equation.
Euclid (300 BC) used geometric methods to solve quadratic equations in his book Elements.
In Arithmetica, Diophantus (250 BC) solved quadratic equations with methods which more closely
resembled algebra. However, his solution only gave one root, even when both roots are positive.
Brahmagupta (597 668 AD) explicitly described the quadratic formula in words instead of symbols in
Brahmasphutasiddhanta in 628 AD. His solution of ax^2+bx=c equated to the formula: x=(√(4ac+b^2
) b)/2a
In the 9th century, Persian mathematician al Khwarizmi solved quadratic equations algebraically.
The quadratic formula which covered all cases was first described by Simon Stevin in 1594.
The quadratic formula that we know today was published by Rene Descartes in La Geometrie in 1637.
The first appearance of the general solution in modern mathematical literature was in an 1896 paper

Why I Taught Proper Nouns Should Be Capitalized
Ever since I can remember, I was taught proper nouns should be capitalized. I was taught to capitalize
my name, to capitalize the United States and even to capitalize ethnic identifiers like Asian or Latino.
Naturally when I wrote my first essay with reference to black people I capitalized the word Black. Yet,
when my paper was returned to me I found a note in the margin. The teacher had written, Why did you
capitalize Black? I thought I had made a grammatical mistake, so for a period of time, I stopped
capitalizing the word. Today, I am writing to my elementary school teacher to tell her she was wrong.
I am writing to tell her it is absurd to posit that an entire people do not deserve the respect of a proper
noun. It is absurd to encourage the trivialization of a complex and varied race of people, regarding
them as equally simplistic as the color of a shoe. Today I am making it clear that Black is distinct from
black.
I decided to scan for the definition of the lowercase form of black in The Merriam Webster Dictionary:
thoroughly sinister or evil; very sad, gloomy or calamitous; characterized by hostility or angry
discontent. Immediately I reflected on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. s words (inspired by Ossie Davis),
maybe the English language should be reconstructed so that teachers will not be forced to teach the
Negro child sixty ways to despise himself, and thereby perpetuate his false sense of inferiority, and the
white child 134 ways to adore himself, and

The Ramayana Is Not Just A Story
The Ramayana is a Sanskrit epic poem ascribed to the Hindu sage and Sanskrit poet Valmiki. The
Ramayana also plays an important role in Hindu literature . It depicts the duties of relationships,
portraying ideal characters like the ideal father, the ideal servant, the ideal brother, the ideal wife, and
the ideal king. The name Ramayana is a tatpurusha compound of and , translating to Rama s Journey .
The Ramayana consists of 24,000 verses in seven books and 500 cantos, and tells the story of Rama,
whose wife Sita is abducted by Ravana, the king of Lanka . Incidentally the first letter of every 1000
verses make the Gayatri mantra. Thematically, the Ramayana explores human values and the concept
of dharma.
Verses in the Ramayana are written in a 32 syllable meter called . The Ramayana was an important
influence on later Sanskrit poetry and Hindu life and culture. Like the Mahabharata, the Ramayana is
not just a story: it presents the teachings of ancient Hindu sages in narrative allegory, interspersing
philosophical and devotional elements. The characters Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Bharata, Hanuman, and
Ravana are all fundamental to the cultural consciousness of India, Nepal, and many south east Asian
countries such as Thailand and Indonesia.
There are other versions of the Ramayana in Indian languages, besides Buddhist and Jain adaptations;

Benefits Of Internships On The Middle Ages

Get What You Can Internships have been around for a very long time. Even in the medieval ages there
have been signs of internships through the process of apprenticeship. During the Middle Ages humans
did not suddenly become professional blacksmiths. Novices normally went through a process called
apprenticeship. Apprentices would study under their teacher in order to familiarize themselves with
the craft. Apprenticeships typically last three to six years. After successfully completing this process
apprentices go on to become journeymen. The procedure aids beginners in the field of blacksmithing
and helps them make the transition from novice to blacksmith. Internships are today s version of
apprenticeship and just like apprenticeships, internships help ease students from the classroom setting
into the real world workforce.
Internships are an integral part of our society. They not only benefit the trainee but also the company
she or he works for. Through this symbiotic relationship the company gains free labor and the trainees
obtain experience and knowledge. The students that go through internships turn out to be more
experienced and have greater confidence in their abilities. They tend to gain employment faster and
climb the corporate ladder swifter compared to other graduates. There does not seem to be any risks or
downsides to an unpaid internship. However, there are people who criticize unpaid internships calling

There will be no use to have it hauled to the airport if we are going to have to deal with mold or other

The Factors that Brought Apartheid to an End in 1994 Essay
The Factors that Brought Apartheid to an End in 1994
The two key factors that brought apartheid to an end were political and economic pressures that
developed over the 50 years of Apartheid.
One clear attempt at changing the political scene was the adoption of the Freedom Charter composed
in 1955, was a way of displaying what individuals such as Mandela and Sisulu wanted and fought for.
Mandela considered it as ...it captured the hopes and dreams of the people and acted as a blueprint for

This event had been displayed all over the world and internationally the opinion on apartheid was that
it must come to a definite end. Questions by white businessmen were raised as to whether there was to
be future peace or a considerable financial crisis in South Africa.
Demonstrations continued by Kgosana, a local PAC leader, he led 30,000 marchers into the center of
the city and to Houses of Parliament to protest. The local police had never come across such a large
event, so the police and Kgosana came to an agreement, if Kgosana could have the protesters returned
home in peace, a meeting that he desired with the Minister of Justice may be arranged. This agreement
went through and as a result the government resorted to Total Repression. The ANC and PAC became
outlawed and riots and demonstrations came to an end.
At this point Mandela believed that it was time to turn to violence. He went underground and formed
MK, and planned a campaign of sabotage. The aims were to avoid loss of life . Mandela endured an
underground life for 17months during this time he trained as a guerilla fighter in Ethiopia. He became

Miriam By Truman Capote Analysis
Truman Capote was an author who enjoyed adding strange or weird elements into ordinary scenarios.
In Miriam, a young girl came into Mrs. Miller s life without any indication or explanation. This was
the start of a new reality for her.
Truman Capote decided to write this story to relate to his own personal life and the struggles he
encountered along the way. While reading, one is able to recognize that the little girl Miriam relates to
Capote, in a sense that whenever the young girl arrives at Mrs. Miller s home a second time and says
The last place I lived was an old man; he was terribly poor and we never had good things to eat. But I
think I ll be happy here. . This is showing how during his own childhood, he was moving place to

Miller, and began to become insane because of this. I was wrong, the story was about an old woman
by the name of Miriam. Her life was repetitive, going through the same routine day after day, until one
night she decided to go out to the theater. While there, she met a young girl, they both shared the name
Miriam, Mrs. Miller was taken by the girl s appearance. Later in the story we see that this was not yet
just an encounter, but something much more. While Mrs. Miller is at home she is visited by the girl
once again, this time the girl was demanding and demanded Mrs. Miller give her the brooch her
husband had given her before his passing. Finally this girl leaves and days pass without seeing her so
Mrs. Miller decides to go out, while out a man is following her until she gets away. The man is later is
foreshadowed as the man who sheltered Miriam the young girl who Mrs. Miller is afraid of. After this
incident passed, Mrs. Miller was antagonised by Miriam and once she had gotten away she told the
neighbors about the incident yet they could not find the young girl. Once Mrs. Miller had entered

A Simple Game of Catch
Though time goes on and experiences past, the memories live on and forever they last. Life is a gift of
beauty yet sometimes that gift can be tarnished by the darkness of pain. However, it s the simple
aspects of life that truly define who we are as individuals. A simple game of catch is all it ever took to
make that darkness of life fade. A simple game of catch is all it ever took to bring back the happiness
that had been taken away. A simple game of catch is all it ever took. Baseball has been an important
aspect of my life. Ever since childhood, I ve played the great game that I ve come to love and hate.
Though I have risen and fallen in my abilities, I still find a way to play the game. When I was a child,
I started my experiences of baseball by playing catch with my father in the front yard of my house. We
threw and we caught and we smacked our gloves the repeat the process once again. Playing catch gave
us a way to relax, a way to talk, and a way to connect. When we threw to each other, it gave me a
chance to train in my abilities and it gave my father a way to relive his own childhood. Yet, as time
went on and my interests changed, playing catch became a thing in the past. Gone. Everything gone.
My childhood faded, my dreams jaded, and my innocence traded. Friends turned away laughing as I
asked myself, What had just happened? Acting my way through it all I knew something good

Schizophrenia Is A Severe Mental Disease Where The Individual
Schizophrenia is a severe mental disease where the individual suffers from symptoms such as
incoherent speech and thinking, abnormal behavior, and problems with emotional expressiveness. It is
a Greek word meaning split mind and was first coined by a German psychiatrist, Emil Kraepelind who
called it Schizophrenia dementia paradox. There are different ways to characterize the different types
of Schizophrenia that exist. It can either be characterized as being divided into two types of
Schizophrenia or as four types of Schizophrenia.
When Schizophrenia is divided into two types, it can either be Nuclear Schizophrenia or Process

The voices that these people hear are taken seriously by the patients and it becomes part of their
world. While hallucinations are only common to two types of Schizophrenia, the disordered thinking
and thought process is common to all four types of Schizophrenia. Problems with thought processes
are diagnosed primarily when people with Schizophrenia are put under pressure and make them feel
anxious. Schizophrenia in a person is not always just one of the four types. It can be a mixture of two
types of Schizophrenia, where a patient will have symptoms which are representative of both types of
Schizophrenia. A patient is more likely to have the two types of Schizophrenia in the early phase,
compared to the later phases. In some cases, individuals may have a certain type of Schizophrenia
along with another mental disease. In such cases, the patient has the symptoms common to both the
diseases. People who have a type of Schizophrenia along with another mental illness are given the
name patients with the schizo affective type of Schizophrenia (Encyclopedia Britannica).
Schizophrenia occurs worldwide and is more common in urban environments compared to rural
environments. Even though Schizophrenia has no cure as of now, treatments are available to alleviate
the symptoms associated with Schizophrenia. The exact cause of Schizophrenia is unknown and there

Perpetuation And Maintenance Of Reading
PERPETUATION AND MAINTENANCE OF READING THINKS AND OTHER ARTICLES IN
LIBRARY: AN OVERVIEW
Abstract: In this digital library environment, the traditional library system and services are being
replaced by new techniques such as library automation, collection development of e resources and
networking of libraries. There has been tremendous change in the information world. Everyone has to
adopt these changes such as printed to digital form. A perpetuation is a set of procedures, activities and
preserves all the documents long term, preserving their content. This paper provides an overview of
the major perpetuation activities, definition, concept, process and types of media for perpetuation.
This paper also presents the perpetuation standards of library materials.
Keywords: Perpetuation, Maintenance, Digital format, perpetuation standards.
Introduction:
The library houses the document by considering the long term perpetuation of the items while still
allowing the end user to access the material easily. But all library collections experience damage from
use and decay from aging. So there is a need of perpetuation and maintenance of library materials.
Libraries have always been places where information resources were collected, organized and
perpetuated for the use of future generations. However, application of computers has drastically
changed the work culture of libraries. Now in the changing environment, the volume of information
rapidly increasing and users

Strawson And Jean Donnellan Summary
Donnellan, in Reference and Definite Description, outlines two uses of definite descriptions. He
argues that definite descriptions can either have an attributive or a referential use. While theories
outlined by Strawson and Russell account for a single use, Donnellan advocates for both. To explain
both the attributive and referential uses, I will review two examples. The first example, put forth by
Donnellan, is for the statement Smith s murderer is insane. There are two ways of interpreting this
statement, based on whether the definite description attributes or refers. In one situation, the audience
does not know who murdered Smith. If this is the case, then the speaker does not pick someone out.
Instead, the speaker s statement uses the definite description attributively. Here, the definite
description itself is what is most significant. Meanwhile, if someone, whom we will call Jones, has
been accused of the murder, the use changes. When the speaker now makes the statement, the
audience picks out Jones as the referent. The definite description has a referential use. It acts as a tool
for picking out a particular one or thing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, when we say, Smith s murderer is insane, the implication is not true. The consequences of
this differ based on which use of description the speaker is employing. Under an attributive usage,
there would be no person who we can truly attribute insanity to. Meanwhile, with a referential usage,
the speaker could still successfully refer to Jones. However, the description, insane murderer would no
longer fit Jones. The act of picking out is the key function for a referential use of a description. Even if
the description is wrong, reference is still

Quantitative Positive Disclosures With Quantitative...
Less profitable firms or high debt firms could use SER disclosures to legitimise activities to lenders
and shareholders (Haniffa and Cooke 2005). SERs can be used by managers to frame how Financial
stake holders interpret financial information, specifically to manipulate stakeholders reaction to
disappointing financial reports, by changing the focus and constructing a disconfirmatory effect on the
financial figures (Neu et al., 1998, p.270). Qualitative positive disclosures with quantitative negative
disclosures (Gibbins et al., 1990) can be used as a method to down play managerial incompetence and
persuade financial stakeholders to excuse past mistakes by using their ethical or socially responsible
displays to compensate. This is a contrasting view to legitimacy theory which emphasizes an
organisations need for actions to be perceived by stakeholders as legitimate (Deegan and Unerman,
2011). In this instance, SERs are used as a method to manage a situation when the expectations of
stakeholders are not met. When an organisation fails to be perceived as legitimate, they use SERs to
demonstrate that it can only improve upon its past actions and regain legitimacy.
A factor influencing management to produce SERs would be to attract investment funds and take
advantage of the practical market for ethically responsible investment funds (Deegan, 2002). If an
organisation can demonstrate favourable environmental performance they are more likely to be
approved to join the Dow

What Is Racial Fetishism
From as early as the 1760 s, prostitution has been referred to by different names. French philosophers
used the word fetichisme, which loosely translated to mean primitive religion. Later, according to
Anne McClintock, Marx, in 1887, used the term commodity fetish which was believed to mean
primitive magic to express the idea of an economic side to the fetish, thus claiming it to be an industry.
McClintock goes on to explain that Freud evolved fetishism in to sexuality and finally into what is
known as erotic perversions. Later, religion combined the term sexuality and money, therefore
removing the primitive idea, making prostitution a racial and sexual degeneration (McClintock, 1992).
It is believed by certain scholars, however, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How did society affect this film (i.e., what currents in society led to the creation of the film)? If you
are unable to find any information about the social impact of the film, explain the personal impact it
has had on you. Note: Not every bullet point under the four listed components will necessarily apply
to your movie. However, you will still need to discuss each of the four main components thoroughly,
which means that you may need to explain a concept even if it can‟t be directly applied to your movie.
Your paper should be organized around a thesis statement that clarifies what you will attempt to
accomplish in your paper, and how you will proceed. Additionally, you must conclude with a
restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph. Stage 2: Reflection After completing your movie
analysis, you will reflect on the analysis process and how you have learned to more thoroughly
analyze film as well as how rigorous study of film enhances your development as a student and
thinker. In this 300 to 600 word reflection, review your initial post from the Post Your Introduction
discussion in Week One, and consider how your ability to analyze movies has changed or grown.

Family Guy Analysis
Imagine living a whole life as an American, accustomed to Caucasian practices, confident on the
stability of your home and career and often bragging patriotically. Then your boss decides to have an
inspection, laying off immigrant employees. Going to your mother to ask for your birth certificate,
you find out you were actually born in Mexico. You get laid off and have to work as a servant for your
wife s rich father. This was the case for Peter Griffen, the father and protagonist in the TV series called
Family Guy. While working for Carter Pewterschmidt, his father in law, he meets another immigrant
employee who helps him around the mansion and gives him some insight on his life. Overall, the
episode was a great example of one s view of the American Dream. Its ideas were also very similar to
claims made by an author regarding the American Dream. Tim Roemer, author of America remains the
world s beacon of success , argues that America is still prosperous and that, based on his trip overseas,
foreigners still view the U.S as a land of opportunity. Both Roemer s article and the specified episode
of Family Guy serve to demonstrate how people outside of the US still admire the country as a whole,
believe America is the goal for studying and that although other countries are facing devastating
challenges, people can still prosper in the U.S.
Initially, Tim Roemer explains foreign views of the United States, which contributes to his first
argument that the U.S is still admired

Case Study Of Lotte Lacto King
Introduction to the Study
The purpose of this study is to understand the factors that led to the declining of a brand which was
once doing very good. The study also aims to measure the brand equity of the chosen brand and then
to do a segmentation and positioning analysis of the brand. Finally, the study aims to recommend an
STP strategy for the brand. The brand that I have chosen for the study is Lotte Lacto King.
To achieve the purpose, a Focus Group Discussion was conducted which helped in identifying various
variables. Using these variables, a questionnaire was developed to understand the perception of the
consumers about the brand. A diverse group of approximately 100 consumers was chosen to get the
response. The next step involved running a factor analysis on the data collected and arriving at core
factors. The Brand Equity was measured next and a STP strategy is recommended.
The Brand under consideration, reasons for choosing the Brand

Literary Symbols In Graphic Novels
When picking up a graphic novel about civil rights you might not expect it to have as much content or
value as books such as Why We Can t Wait and Bearing the Cross by Martin Luther King Jr.
Traditional literary texts are widely accepted, whereas graphic novels are often viewed as childish due
to the comic book style. However, illustrations in graphic novels enhance literary meaning by proving
additional context, emotion, and characterization. John Lewis s graphic novel March Book Two , more
specifically the Burning Bus Scene , Nick Powell, the illustrator, uses context, emotion, and
characterization to make Lewis s point especially clear.
Graphic novel illustrations provide context to construct future events. John Lewis, while participating
in a Freedom Ride from Washington D.C. to New Orleans, had received an invitation to participate in
a service project in India. As a result, Lewis got off the bus and stayed the night at Friendship Junior
College after some trouble in Rock Hill, SC. Lewis decided to turn down the service opportunity and
instead wanted to meet back up with the bus in Nashville. Before continuing his Freedom Ride, John
Lewis attended a picnic to celebrate the successful desegregation of a community theater. Lewis
planned that, Afterwards, I would set off to rejoin the freedom rides (Lewis and Aydin 2:46). What
Lewis hadn t known was that his bus had been attacked. The powerful image of the burning bus

Women s Physical And Outer Appearance
Men and women s physical or outer appearance is nowadays playing an important role in promoting
false images of the two genders, especially through the media. When you think about the ideal body
image, what crosses your mind? You probably think of a bodybuilder with a chiseled six pack or a
gorgeous model with a small waist. The idea of the perfect body image in today s society stems from
the misguided idealism of the media. It is seen in Hollywood movies, beauty magazines and even
marketing advertisements. Since a young age, our generation has been influenced by what the perfect
body should look like. It is implanted in our minds that we should look a certain way without even
realizing it. Therefore, the media has a direct effect on how the general public views what is and what
isn t acceptable in regard to the standard of perfect physical attractiveness. By establishing
unattainable standards of beauty and bodily perfection, the media drive ordinary people to
dissatisfaction with their body images. This dissatisfaction can result in resorts to drastic measures,
and even disorders of behaviour, as people try to achieve these unreachable goals. It is often said that
beauty is in the mind of the beholder. For that reason, different perceptions of beauty should not affect
human beings since everyone has a different view on beauty. However, beauty tends to have a
significant impact on young teens nowadays, particularly in the fashion industry, which leads to

Methods to Determine Cable Size under Harmonic Condition
In many methods, skin and proximity effects are very important. Another important parameter is
alternative current (a.c.) resistance, rac. This parameter is frequency dependence. It can be shown that
rac increased with the increased of frequency (Du, Burnett, (2000), (Demoulias, Labridis, Dokopoulos
Gouramanis, 2007), (Desmet, Vanalme, Belmans, Van Dommelen, 2008). Some research papers used
value from published graph such as by The Okonite Company and Anixter Inc. (The Okonite
Company, 2001), (Anixter Inc., n.d.). However upon inspection, it was found that the graph is
produced on the basis of fundamental frequency of 60 Hz and using imperial unit. Some other sources,
although on 50 Hz as fundamental basis, give limited data such as (Moore, 1997), (Coates, n.d). As an
alternative, formula from IEC 287 1 1 was used to calculate the rac (IEC, 1994).
Skin and proximity effects are part of formula to calculate cable ampacity known as Neher McGrath
(NM) method in 1957 (Blackledge, O Connell, Barrett Sung, 2012, 2012). However this method,
according to the authors, could not handle a range of harmonic frequencies. In 1991, Ajit Hiranandani
(AH) introduced a way to calculate temperature and ampacity of a cable using generalised finite
difference model (Hiranandani, 1991). Hiranandani (1995) produced a paper which tackles the
problem of size selection for cable under harmonic condition. In this paper, he introduced term such as
harmonic signature (HS), with reference to

U.S. Highway 19 and Ridge Road. Dispatch further advised me that the male driver of the GMC fled
the scene on foot, Southbound on the sidewalk of U.S. Highway 19. The driver was described as a
White male, who was wearing a baseball cap, blue tee shirt, and blue jeans.
Upon arrival, I made contact with both vehicles, which were moved off of the roadway and into Ocean
Honda. The driver of the Hyundai, later identified as Jamie Lynne Zambrano, stated that she was

Kim Jong Un Research Paper
According to the Washington Times article, Gause, K. E. (2016), Kim Jong un has been taking on a
more people friendly approach that greatly differs from his father. Jong un has no difficulty in talking
during speeches and maintains a steady state of progression for North Korea. He has been proving that
he fully understands his responsibilities as the new Supreme Leader of North Korea. Despite his ease
into assimilation of the position of Supreme Leader, he is lacking one thing. He does not have the
undying loyalty of his people. He has to grow on the people of North Korea before he really becomes
one with the people of his country. While earning the people s trust, Kim Jong un must be wary of
turning into a tyrant and losing his chance at gaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Steven Spielberg Impact
As one of the directors who paved the way during the new Hollywood film era, Steven Spielberg s
ranges of work have impacted the film industry. Spielberg is no stranger to controversy throughout his
carrier, but nonetheless is known as a director who demonstrated his unique vision for film through
science fiction and adventure while remaining the child like innocence that almost anyone can relate
to. Spielberg is notorious for telling his story through reoccurring themes: parent children
relationships, ordinary people becoming the hero of the plot, and facing extraordinary situations in the
face of all odds. Spielberg has a way of connecting with his audience by depicting that even the
typical everyday person can turn out to be someone who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spielberg s film techniques remain even throughout a film like this one. He s known for his strong
lightings, the notorious Spielberg face when he zooms on a character s face, and a unique uses of
frames. The film is said to have to be rich with successive shots of the presidential figure walking
away along...heading towards a distant light (Dean 311) which comes as no surprise because Spielberg
is known to add these touches within his works. Spielberg took it upon himself to remain true to the
timeline of the story by making sure the movie produces angular light produced by gas lights,
sputtering candles, chuckling fireplaces, windows, and open doors that would have existed in the mid
nineteenth century (Dean 310). This is the essence of who Spielberg is as a director. He consistently
pays attention to the little details which overall give a realistic look to the setting where the film takes
place. All of these trademarks that make a Spielberg film one of his own, is evident throughout all his
works, even in Lincoln. The movie gained a lot of feedback both negative and positive because it
exists as a big money maker for Hollywood and as liberal meditation on the current debate on the
nation s bipartisanship and conflicting ethics (Dean 310). However, Spielberg was applauded for
creating Lincoln as a successful history lesson for a

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Jamestown Virginia And Massachusetts... In the years 1607 and 1630, the world saw the beginning of two very important English colonies; Jamestown, Virginia and the Massachusetts Bay Colony. England had many reasons behind their colonization. A major reason was the idea of Mercantilism, a concept in which colonies are said to exist solely for the benefit of their mother country. The Virginia Company went to Jamestown in 1606 in hope of using the land to cultivate crops and to make a living. In 1630, the Non Separatist Puritans went to the New England Area in hopes of setting up a religious commonwealth for the people. Unlike the Separatists of Plymouth, who wanted to separate from the Church, the Non Separatists wanted to reform the Church under the rule of Governor John Winthrop. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the fact that the colony of Virginia had a dominant skill, the cultivation of tobacco, which was introduced by John Rolfe in the year 1611, Virginia had much success. Tobacco was an enumerated good, which was beneficial because eventually, the Navigation Acts favored the colonies that had enumerated goods (a good that the colony specialized in). The tobacco cultivation began the year after the period known as the starving time in Virginia. Our ordinary food was but meal and water so that this...little relieved our wants, whereby with the extremity of the bitter cold frost...more than half of us died (Doc 6). John Smith wrote this article 17 years after the foundation of Virginia. He discussed in it the hardships that the colonists had to go through in order to understand how to achieve a perfect colony to live in. Jamestown was an aristocratic society because they were based upon a major plantation economy. The people of Virginia were very selfish and cared more about the individual, than about their community as a whole. They focused on the Headwrights System, a system in which the government of Jamestown offered land to every settler that paid for an indentured servant from England. The indentured servants were told that they would receive land if they worked for seven years. The lack of land led to a lack of workers, which brought about the lowest class in 1619, the ... • 3. Short Essay On William Shakespeare William Shakespeare Have you ever watched the movie Romeo and Juliet. Said that you were in a pickle, or that you were in a wild goose chase ? If so, you are quoting Shakespeare. Shakespeare made up words, and used words from the speech of Elizabethan England. Then, he took these words and put them into writing. This influenced the English language, which is why we say these sayings today. He is considered the greatest writer in the English language and playwright of all time. Shakespeare was also part of a good family. (Applebee,983) Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon, right outside of London. He was baptized there in 1564, the same year in which he was born. He was three of eight children, but three of his siblings died when they were still young. There is no record of Shakespeare ever going to school for any education. His father was a hardworking man to stay out of debt. But to have more money and a better social status he married Shakespeare s mother, Mary Arden. His mother was the daughter of a wealthy landowner. Both of his parents were practicing Catholics when it was established. It was not accepted by many people during this time. When he got older he fell in love at a young age.(History,2018) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following their marriage, they had a daughter, Susanna. Then, two years later, they had twins, Hamnet and Judith. Though, his son Hamnet died at age 11, but his other children grew older. It was also said that Shakespeare and Anne lived apart when he went into his writing and theater career in London. It was not until the end of his life when the two started to live together again. Shakespeare also disappeared the same year his twins were baptised, in 1585. He was gone until 1592, when Robert Greene denounced his name in a pamphlet. Virgin Mary Looking at this sculpture the Pieta of Virgin Mary and her son Jesus Christ, we see an intimate image that this sculpture expresses, and the extraordinary relationship that the artist Michelangelo has constructed between the body of the dead Christ and his mother Virgin Mary as she holds him on her lap. Mary comes across as young and beautiful, however her lower body seems much larger than her this is because her lower body needs to be enlarged for her to be able to carry her son. As Mary s right arm holds up her sons right arm in an attempt to support him, we see Christ s skin getting pulled this shows how Michelangelo really structured the marble material well, for he has turned it into flesh the weight of Christ s body is obvious ... Women are complex and difficult beings that may, or may not, be meant to be fully understood by the brain of their male counterparts. In terms of independence women rightfully deserve their own apart from men, needing the privacy to freely think and judge things on their own. An overbearing male can destroy the female thoughts with the influence of their own independent thoughts. Women were made different, but not as different, from men for a purpose although people have differentiating reasons of their own opinions. Although women were not always bold enough to speak or even think about how they deserved independence and privacy from men, the notion was always there, even in women who lived hundreds of years ago. Khan Academy explains, The second law of motion states that force on an object is equal to the mass of the object multiplied by its acceleration. If we apply this law to a football, it tells us that the amount that the ball accelerates depends on the force applied by the quarterback and the mass of the ball. ( Football Physics ). The less mass a ball has the further it s potential to travel is. The lighter the ball is, the faster and further the ball can move. Additionally, Khan Academy writes, The second law also tells us that acceleration of the football also depends on the mass of the football. If the player is throwing an extra heavy football, the acceleration of the football would decrease compared to a lighter football that is thrown with the same force. ( Football Physics ). This quote explains that the lighter a ball is, the farther a ball can be thrown. Also, the farthest a ball can be thrown depends on the amount of force the person throwing applies to the ball. The colonies in New England had sandy coasts with assessable ports, forest hills, and flat woodlands. The soil was thin and rocky which was bad for farming. Lumbering, trading, shipbuilding, fishing, and whaling were all common occupations in the New England colonies. Slavery was allowed In the New England colonies, however very few people had slaves. The soil made it difficult to grow crops, so most colonist had small independent farms they could care for on their own, the colonist only grew enough food to feed their families and didn t have enough to feed slaves. Number Systems Complex Numbers The earliest reference to complex numbers is from Hero of Alexandria s work Stereometrica in the 1st century AD, where he contemplates the volume of a frustum of a pyramid. The proper study first came about in the 16th century when algebraic answers for roots of cubics and quartics were revealed by Italian mathematicians Tartaglia and Cardano. For example, Tartaglia s formula for a cubic equation x^3=x gives the solution as 1/√3 ((√( 1))^(1/3)+1/(√( 1))^(1/3) ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the treatment of resistors, capacitors, and inductors are unified by combining them in a single complex number called the impedance, which is the measure of the opposition that a circuit presents to a current when a certain voltage is applied. Algebra The Quadratic Formula Early methods for solving quadratic equations were purely geometric. Babylonian tablets contained problems which could be reduced to solving quadratic equations. The Egyptian Berlin Papyrus (2050 1650 BC) contains the solution to a two term quadratic equation. Euclid (300 BC) used geometric methods to solve quadratic equations in his book Elements. In Arithmetica, Diophantus (250 BC) solved quadratic equations with methods which more closely resembled algebra. However, his solution only gave one root, even when both roots are positive. Brahmagupta (597 668 AD) explicitly described the quadratic formula in words instead of symbols in Brahmasphutasiddhanta in 628 AD. His solution of ax^2+bx=c equated to the formula: x=(√(4ac+b^2 ) b)/2a In the 9th century, Persian mathematician al Khwarizmi solved quadratic equations algebraically. The quadratic formula which covered all cases was first described by Simon Stevin in 1594. The quadratic formula that we know today was published by Rene Descartes in La Geometrie in 1637. I was taught to capitalize my name, to capitalize the United States and even to capitalize ethnic identifiers like Asian or Latino. Naturally when I wrote my first essay with reference to black people I capitalized the word Black. Yet, when my paper was returned to me I found a note in the margin. The teacher had written, Why did you capitalize Black? I thought I had made a grammatical mistake, so for a period of time, I stopped capitalizing the word. Today, I am writing to my elementary school teacher to tell her she was wrong. I am writing to tell her it is absurd to posit that an entire people do not deserve the respect of a proper noun. It is absurd to encourage the trivialization of a complex and varied race of people, regarding them as equally simplistic as the color of a shoe. Today I am making it clear that Black is distinct from black. I decided to scan for the definition of the lowercase form of black in The Merriam Webster Dictionary: thoroughly sinister or evil; very sad, gloomy or calamitous; characterized by hostility or angry discontent. Immediately I reflected on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. s words (inspired by Ossie Davis), maybe the English language should be reconstructed so that teachers will not be forced to teach the Negro child sixty ways to despise himself, and thereby perpetuate his false sense of inferiority, and the white child 134 ways to adore himself, and ... Even in the medieval ages there have been signs of internships through the process of apprenticeship. During the Middle Ages humans did not suddenly become professional blacksmiths. Novices normally went through a process called apprenticeship. Apprentices would study under their teacher in order to familiarize themselves with the craft. Apprenticeships typically last three to six years. After successfully completing this process apprentices go on to become journeymen. The procedure aids beginners in the field of blacksmithing and helps them make the transition from novice to blacksmith. Internships are today s version of apprenticeship and just like apprenticeships, internships help ease students from the classroom setting into the real world workforce. Internships are an integral part of our society. They not only benefit the trainee but also the company she or he works for. Through this symbiotic relationship the company gains free labor and the trainees obtain experience and knowledge. The students that go through internships turn out to be more experienced and have greater confidence in their abilities. They tend to gain employment faster and climb the corporate ladder swifter compared to other graduates. There does not seem to be any risks or downsides to an unpaid internship. • 27. Strawson And Jean Donnellan Summary Donnellan, in Reference and Definite Description, outlines two uses of definite descriptions. He argues that definite descriptions can either have an attributive or a referential use. While theories outlined by Strawson and Russell account for a single use, Donnellan advocates for both. To explain both the attributive and referential uses, I will review two examples. The first example, put forth by Donnellan, is for the statement Smith s murderer is insane. There are two ways of interpreting this statement, based on whether the definite description attributes or refers. In one situation, the audience does not know who murdered Smith. If this is the case, then the speaker does not pick someone out. Instead, the speaker s statement uses the definite description attributively. Here, the definite description itself is what is most significant. Meanwhile, if someone, whom we will call Jones, has been accused of the murder, the use changes. When the speaker now makes the statement, the audience picks out Jones as the referent. The definite description has a referential use. It acts as a tool for picking out a particular one or thing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, when we say, Smith s murderer is insane, the implication is not true. Less profitable firms or high debt firms could use SER disclosures to legitimise activities to lenders and shareholders (Haniffa and Cooke 2005). SERs can be used by managers to frame how Financial stake holders interpret financial information, specifically to manipulate stakeholders reaction to disappointing financial reports, by changing the focus and constructing a disconfirmatory effect on the financial figures (Neu et al., 1998, p.270). Qualitative positive disclosures with quantitative negative disclosures (Gibbins et al., 1990) can be used as a method to down play managerial incompetence and persuade financial stakeholders to excuse past mistakes by using their ethical or socially responsible displays to compensate. This is a contrasting view to legitimacy theory which emphasizes an organisations need for actions to be perceived by stakeholders as legitimate (Deegan and Unerman, 2011). In this instance, SERs are used as a method to manage a situation when the expectations of stakeholders are not met. When an organisation fails to be perceived as legitimate, they use SERs to demonstrate that it can only improve upon its past actions and regain legitimacy. A factor influencing management to produce SERs would be to attract investment funds and take advantage of the practical market for ethically responsible investment funds (Deegan, 2002). Then your boss decides to have an inspection, laying off immigrant employees. Going to your mother to ask for your birth certificate, you find out you were actually born in Mexico. You get laid off and have to work as a servant for your wife s rich father. This was the case for Peter Griffen, the father and protagonist in the TV series called Family Guy. While working for Carter Pewterschmidt, his father in law, he meets another immigrant employee who helps him around the mansion and gives him some insight on his life. Overall, the episode was a great example of one s view of the American Dream. Its ideas were also very similar to claims made by an author regarding the American Dream. Tim Roemer, author of America remains the world s beacon of success , argues that America is still prosperous and that, based on his trip overseas, foreigners still view the U.S as a land of opportunity. Both Roemer s article and the specified episode of Family Guy serve to demonstrate how people outside of the US still admire the country as a whole, believe America is the goal for studying and that although other countries are facing devastating challenges, people can still prosper in the U.S. Initially, Tim Roemer explains foreign views of the United States, which contributes to his first argument that the U.S is still admired ... • 33. Case Study Of Lotte Lacto King Introduction to the Study The purpose of this study is to understand the factors that led to the declining of a brand which was once doing very good. The study also aims to measure the brand equity of the chosen brand and then to do a segmentation and positioning analysis of the brand. Finally, the study aims to recommend an STP strategy for the brand. The brand that I have chosen for the study is Lotte Lacto King. To achieve the purpose, a Focus Group Discussion was conducted which helped in identifying various variables. Using these variables, a questionnaire was developed to understand the perception of the consumers about the brand. A diverse group of approximately 100 consumers was chosen to get the response. The next step involved running a factor analysis on the data collected and arriving at core factors. The Brand Equity was measured next and a STP strategy is recommended. The Brand under consideration, reasons for choosing the Brand The brand chosen to conduct the study is Lotto Lacto King. The parent company for the product is Lotte Corporation India. • 34. Literary Symbols In Graphic Novels When picking up a graphic novel about civil rights you might not expect it to have as much content or value as books such as Why We Can t Wait and Bearing the Cross by Martin Luther King Jr. Traditional literary texts are widely accepted, whereas graphic novels are often viewed as childish due to the comic book style. However, illustrations in graphic novels enhance literary meaning by proving additional context, emotion, and characterization. John Lewis s graphic novel March Book Two , more specifically the Burning Bus Scene , Nick Powell, the illustrator, uses context, emotion, and characterization to make Lewis s point especially clear. Graphic novel illustrations provide context to construct future events. John Lewis, while participating in a Freedom Ride from Washington D.C. to New Orleans, had received an invitation to participate in a service project in India. As a result, Lewis got off the bus and stayed the night at Friendship Junior College after some trouble in Rock Hill, SC. Lewis decided to turn down the service opportunity and instead wanted to meet back up with the bus in Nashville. Before continuing his Freedom Ride, John Lewis attended a picnic to celebrate the successful desegregation of a community theater. Lewis planned that, Afterwards, I would set off to rejoin the freedom rides (Lewis and Aydin 2:46). What Lewis hadn t known was that his bus had been attacked. • 35. south Essay Police In South Africa In the old South Africa before 1994 the police officers job was to squash subversion and his main obstacle was that most people hated him. Today after the 1994 years election the South African police force main job is to stop the growing crime rate. Which seems impossible for them to manage. The police officers main hurdle is his own lack of modern policing skills. Many policemen are barely literate, and are no good at the administrative tasks on which they spend seventy percent of their time. South Africa s murder rate is eight times that of the United States, and figures released on December 7th, 1999 showed steady increases in the other 18 of the 20 most serious categories of offence (The Economist January 22nd ... Between 6 10 million South Africans are likely to die of AIDS in the next ten years (The Economist May 27th 2000). South Africa has failed to promote a safe sex campaign effectively. More than 1,500 South Africans a day are infected with HIV. Uganda, who has fewer resources than South Africa, reduced HIV frequency by half by their successful anti aids campaign with use of education as the main method. Mr. Mbeki should use the Uganda method and urge people to sleep around less and use condom more. There was almost no sex education at all in South African schools for a long time, and is only in the last couple of years it has dramatically increased. South Africa should focus their efforts on the young; most children under the age of 15 do not have sex yet and are not infected, those are the once to reach. And it did not help that Mr. Mbeki for a long time took advise from quot;scientist quot; that argued that HIV did not cause AIDS. Mr. Mbeki finally has come to his right mind and believes that HIV does indeed cause AIDS. South Africa, with its advanced industries has started to suffer a shortage of skilled manpower because of AIDS. Companies have started to inform and raise awareness of AIDS among their workers because the companies cannot afford to lose any more manpower. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At one point in training, court orders had been distributed to various trainees that were needed by the establishment team. I made the suggestion that the cover sheet that listed the documents that are placed in the folder for group be laminated so that customers would be less likely to write on them, which was implemented by the program manager. • 39. Women s Physical And Outer Appearance Men and women s physical or outer appearance is nowadays playing an important role in promoting false images of the two genders, especially through the media. When you think about the ideal body image, what crosses your mind? You probably think of a bodybuilder with a chiseled six pack or a gorgeous model with a small waist. The idea of the perfect body image in today s society stems from the misguided idealism of the media. It is seen in Hollywood movies, beauty magazines and even marketing advertisements. Since a young age, our generation has been influenced by what the perfect body should look like. It is implanted in our minds that we should look a certain way without even realizing it. Therefore, the media has a direct effect on how the general public views what is and what isn t acceptable in regard to the standard of perfect physical attractiveness. By establishing unattainable standards of beauty and bodily perfection, the media drive ordinary people to dissatisfaction with their body images. This dissatisfaction can result in resorts to drastic measures, and even disorders of behaviour, as people try to achieve these unreachable goals. It is often said that beauty is in the mind of the beholder. For that reason, different perceptions of beauty should not affect human beings since everyone has a different view on beauty. However, beauty tends to have a significant impact on young teens nowadays, particularly in the fashion industry, which leads to consequences for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the most devastating earthquakes in our modern era have occurred along the San Andreas fault line, due to dense population that resides near it. The most notable and destructive earthquake on the San Andreas fault line occurred in San Francisco in 1906. The reason this earthquake was so deadly was due to its magnitude and the poor preparation by the city. This earthquake was a wakeup call for San Francisco, forcing the city to revolutionize its knowledge on earthquakes and protocols on how to protect their city. They quickly began redoing their basic infrastructures, so they could get the city up and running again and help people affected by the earthquake and fire. The homeless were given temporary housing and more than 3 million dollars were given out in relief. Once the homeless were accounted for and the rubble was cleared, the city started rebuilding. The city seemed to rebuild nearly the same way they had built the city when it was first founded in 1776, with a few adaptations to their buildings like steel frames and more modern designs. The reason for the city quickly rebuilding within the fastest way possible was the fear that if they did not rebuild soon, all of the citizen would leave and the city would enter an economic collapse. This effort to rebuild quickly paid off, as new business continued to come to San Francisco. The city was even able to host the Panama Pacific International Exposition, a celebration of the completion of the Panama Canal. • 41. Methods to Determine Cable Size under Harmonic Condition In many methods, skin and proximity effects are very important. Another important parameter is alternative current (a.c.) resistance, rac. This parameter is frequency dependence. It can be shown that rac increased with the increased of frequency (Du, Burnett, (2000), (Demoulias, Labridis, Dokopoulos Gouramanis, 2007), (Desmet, Vanalme, Belmans, Van Dommelen, 2008). Some research papers used value from published graph such as by The Okonite Company and Anixter Inc. (The Okonite Company, 2001), (Anixter Inc., n.d.). However upon inspection, it was found that the graph is produced on the basis of fundamental frequency of 60 Hz and using imperial unit. Some other sources, although on 50 Hz as fundamental basis, give limited data such as (Moore, 1997), (Coates, n.d). As an alternative, formula from IEC 287 1 1 was used to calculate the rac (IEC, 1994). Skin and proximity effects are part of formula to calculate cable ampacity known as Neher McGrath (NM) method in 1957 (Blackledge, O Connell, Barrett Sung, 2012, 2012). However this method, according to the authors, could not handle a range of harmonic frequencies. In 1991, Ajit Hiranandani (AH) introduced a way to calculate temperature and ampacity of a cable using generalised finite difference model (Hiranandani, 1991). Hiranandani (1995) produced a paper which tackles the problem of size selection for cable under harmonic condition. In this paper, he introduced term such as harmonic signature (HS), with reference to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spielberg s film techniques remain even throughout a film like this one. He s known for his strong lightings, the notorious Spielberg face when he zooms on a character s face, and a unique uses of frames. The film is said to have to be rich with successive shots of the presidential figure walking away along...heading towards a distant light (Dean 311) which comes as no surprise because Spielberg is known to add these touches within his works. Spielberg took it upon himself to remain true to the timeline of the story by making sure the movie produces angular light produced by gas lights, sputtering candles, chuckling fireplaces, windows, and open doors that would have existed in the mid nineteenth century (Dean 310). This is the essence of who Spielberg is as a director. He consistently pays attention to the little details which overall give a realistic look to the setting where the film takes place. All of these trademarks that make a Spielberg film one of his own, is evident throughout all his works, even in Lincoln. The movie gained a lot of feedback both negative and positive because it exists as a big money maker for Hollywood and as liberal meditation on the current debate on the nation s bipartisanship and conflicting ethics (Dean 310).
