The Pros And Cons Of Cyber Crime
Cyber crime is criminal activity done using computers and the Internet. This ranges from downloading
illegal music files to offenses, such as creating and distributing viruses on other computers or posting
private business information on the Internet.
Perhaps the most outstanding form of cyber crime is identity theft, in which wrongdoers use the web
to steal personal information from other users. One of the most frequent ways this is done is through
phishing. This method entices people to fake websites (that appear to be legitimate), where they are
asked to enter information about themselves. This includes inputting information, such as usernames
and passwords, mobile numbers, addresses, credit card numbers, and other information criminals can
use to gain another person s identity. Many people in developing countries are getting attracted
towards because of high unemployment and low wages . (Kshetri, 2010)
Another way this is done is through the use of viruses, There is a number of ways that you can get a
virus on your computer while on the other side someone is able to access all the data in your machine.
One of the most common way on how this is done is when an attachment is sent to you on email or
any other social networking site and when you open it, your machine ... Show more content on

It is a wrongful act to commit. More often than not it is also not clear which laws are being broken.
Cyber crime covers a wide range of wrong doings that are done using the web and the very same web
which has made our lives easier has also complicated stuff because there are people out there who like
to take advantage of unsuspecting people. Also sadly it is sometimes difficult to trace the person/s who
is or are doing it. So it is smart to protect yourself using anti viruses and spyware. In developing
countries they are not too keen on the laws broken unless it is a major cyber crime committed so it is
always best to be

The Benefits Of Year-Round School
Vacations with the whole family can be a blast! But year round school can take that away. Although
year round school can help students stay focused on what they are learning in school it is destroying
the time that kids spend on sports and vacations with their family.
To begin with, kids need fresh air; they need to be outside playing with their friends they don t need to
be stuck in a classroom for six weeks. Not being able to get exercise is not a good thing for kids they
need to be outside exercising not stuck in a classroom. In Source one paragraph four it says If students
are in school year round it make it difficult from them to have a summer job and a sports team s
schedules. Kids need to be outside but thanks to year round it

The Importance Of Tragic Events In Mariatu s Life
Although I do not entirely relate to Mariatu or many of the tragic events that have occurred during her
life time, one event during Mariatu s life I do relate to is when she moved to Toronto. Firstly, I relate
to Mariatu during this event in her life because both Mariatu and I moved from Africa to Canada. Now
despite the fact that she moved to Toronto due to the war in her homeland and moved at a much older
age than I did , I do still believe we do relate in this instance because we both had to leave our
homelands that we were both very fond of so we could receive a much better and more fair life. Also,
as it states in the book Mariatu had a hard time fitting into her new school. Although I did receive an
education in Africa and Mariatu did

Augusta Ada s Life And Accomplishments
Augusta Ada Byron was born in London on December 10, 1815, and was the daughter of a famous
poet ,named Lord Byron. Her parents did not have a very happy marriage and once Ada was born,
they seperated. A few months after she was born, her dad left to England and never saw her again. He
later then died when Ada was 8. I assume that because her parents seperated at a young age and Ada
was too young to get to know her father, his absensce probably didn t affect her as much as it would
have if she were older when this happened. Because her father wasn t around, Ada was brought up by
her mother, who was always insisting on getting Ada tutors in mathemarics and science. Her mother
believed that if Ada distracted herself with her studies, then she ... Show more content on

On the bright side, she was buried next to her father, but that could also not be that great because she

The Weather Of Panama City Beach
The weather in Panama City Beach, Florida, is beautiful in June. Though the twelve hour trip down
there seemed very long and boring, the trip was ultimately worth it. There are a lot of interesting
things to do in Panama City Beach, Florida. The first thing that we did when we finally got there, was
to check into the hotel and take our stuff to the room, which was on the first floor facing the beach. It
had three rooms. One had the kitchenette, a couch, and a bed with a TV mounted on the wall across
from it. The second room had two beds and a TV mounted on the opposite wall. In between the two
rooms was the bathroom. After we finished looking around the rooms, we went out to the white sand
beach through the sliding glass doors in the first room to watch the sunset. The colors of the sunset
against the light green water were amazing. The reds, oranges, and yellows seemed more vibrant next
to the color of that water. It made me wonder why people don t just stay on the beach for the rest of
their lives. I knew that I would have happily stayed there forever just to see sunsets like that every
night for the rest of my life. We stayed on the beach until the sun was completely gone and the sky
was dark. After the beach was completely dark and quiet, we headed back to the hotel. The hotel had
many things to do inside. The first thing we did when we got back inside was go to the front desk to
see all the activities that they had at our hotel. We decided that we wanted to do the

The Chile Of Peru And Chile
For the fault zone that I chose to research for this project, I chose the Peru Chile Trench, also known
as the Chile Subduction Megathrust and as the Atacama Trench. It is called that because the area
between Peru and Chile is called The Atacama , and such was the plate named. The Peru Chile trench
is located along the western coast of Peru and Chile. It marks the zone where the Nazca plate is being
subducted beneath the South American plate and is approximately 3,666 miles long. (Britannica, p.1)
Located on the fault are sediments, amongst them are turbidites. Turbidites are areas of sediment are
deposited in the deep ocean. There are also oceanic deposits, volcanic ash, siliceous oozes, and
primary dolomites, which are a formation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, there are many seismic events that have taken place on our geologic timeline and at the
same time shaped our historic timeline.
The most recent large scale earthquake along the Peru Chile Plate was the 16 September earthquake,
which happened in 2015. It measured an M 8.3, one of the largest on record. 5 were killed, and over 1
million were evacuated from greatly affected areas. However, compared to other earthquakes that have
taken place in Chile, this one was moderate.
In 2010, an 8.8 Mw earthquake shook Chile. It was approximately 200 miles southwest of Chile and
was approximately 375 miles long. A 2014 study attributed the quake to immense water pressure
located between the two plates. The region was stricken by strong aftershocks for months after the
quake, many of a magnitude of 5.0 Mw or greater.
The Tsunami that took place after the initial quake was caused by a portion of seabed rupturing
upwards, and displacing a large portion of the water being displaced. This water traveled at 450 miles,
at 8 feet tall, to the Chilean and Peruvian coast. Early viewers of the tsunami later reported waves
being up to 10 feet tall. This rupture was believed to be caused by 2 unusually dense pieces of seabed
that had been previously undetected by scientists, and consequently caused a large displacement of
water. There were also small ruptures of seismic

Analysis Of Signs Preceding The End Of The World
Signs Preceding the End of the World Signs Preceding the End of the World is an insider s look at the
mind and journey of an illegal immigrant. A Mexican young woman crossing the border story is what
challenges the ethics of readers. The main character in Signs Preceding the End of the World is
Makina. Makina is in charge of a small Mexican town s telephone. A reliable, messenger, she knows
how to keep a secret and when to keep her mouth shut. She is dangerous when threatened, quick to
defend herself against lecherous fools, and unafraid of speaking truth to power (Long). Makina is just
like an ordinary person. She is no different from an average American. Makina has a job and harmless
when not threatened. Americans act as if immigrants are so beneath them. Immigrants are hard
workers, just like Americans. Immigrants want better lives for themselves and their families, just like
Americans. Americans and immigrants are not the only ones who want these things. People all around
the world want what is best for everyone they know. Most people will do whatever it takes to get to
what they need; even if it is in life threatening conditions. Signs Preceding the End of the World
challenges our ethics by placing the reader in the mind of an illegal immigrant, allowing the reader to
know the true feelings and experience of the immigrant. The reader s ethics are first challenged when
Makina began her journey; when the reader finds out that Makina needs to find her brother that has

Mexican Culture Research Paper
What makes a culture distinctive? What shapes a culture s development throughout history? For many
cultures, one of the main answers is religion. Religion has, for millennia, formed the backbone of most
societies, and it often shapes people s identity. Mexico is no different. The connection of religion and
culture in Mexico is made clear through its current demographics, its history, and its festivals.
Religion is a part of most people s lives in Mexico. In the 2010 census, approximately 90% of the
population claimed to be at least nominally religious: 82.7% of the population identified as Roman
Catholic, with another 9% claiming an affiliation with another religion ( Mexico, n.d.). The practice of
Catholicism in the country varies greatly, from groups that follow a rigid interpretation of Catholic
doctrine to indigenous groups who practice syncretistic religions, or the mixing of Catholic practices
with traditional, indigenous rituals. For these indigenous cultures, religion helps maintain a cultural
identity that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most important festivals is the Dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe, or the Day of the Virgin of
Guadalupe. This is celebrated on December 12 by most of the population, even those who are only
nominally religious. On this holiday, people remember the day the Virgin of Guadalupe reportedly
appeared to a man named Juan Diego in 1531 (Cline, 2015). People across the country celebrate with
dancing, food, and music and many even make a pilgrimage across the country to celebrate at the
basilica in Mexico City. The Virgin of Guadalupe is the country s patron saint, and her image has been
used throughout Mexican history, not only as a religious icon but also as a sign of patriotism (
Everything You Need to Know about la Virgen de Guadalupe, 2013). The devotion to the Guadalupe
has remained constant over the years, even as other aspects of Mexican society have

The Importance Of The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man
The French Revolution, a time span of widespread social and political disturbance that lasted about
ten years from 1789 until 1799. During the period of the French Revolution, rights, privilege, and
freedom were topics to be spoken about. Rights was a topic that created such big controversy because
not all the laws that were put into work made sense and not all applied as they said they would. Things
like the Declaration of The Rights of Man were released to that have many laws referring to the
freedom of man. Even with these laws being passed people still were not content because many people
were not incorporated. Citizens were said to be free of expression in all ways possible, but only those
who were considered to be citizens, and as said before not all were included. Many who did not hold
active power and contribution were also to be excluded from these benefits that were provided with
The Declaration of The Rights of Man. Along with that there were also some religious differences
within beliefs of others. Rights took a bewildering role during the French Revolution because when it
came to the matter of freedom, the rights that were given at the time would contradict their statements
with many minority groups. During the first year of the of the French Revolution, August 1789 and
September 1790, the National Assembly took in hand to create and build a new political society. In
order to do that they took innovative steps to make change. First, they got rid of noble and

Differences Between The Second Triumvirate
Prior to the formation of the second Triumvirate, Julia Caesar had been brutally assassinated, which
plunged Rome into another Civil War. The second triumvirate was formed when the Lex titia was
passed in 43BC, making the position of Anthony, Lepidus and Octavian the highest constitutional
office in the Roman state. As Scullard stated, In place of the dictator Caesar, there were now three
dictators. The second Triumvirate was created to strengthen political control and used their power to
legally hunt down those who had conspired to kill Caesar. This resulted in Civil War between the
Second Triumvirate and Brutus and Cassius at the Battle of Phlipii 42, which undermined the
authority of the Senate as most leaders died in battle. Eventually,

Why Did The Zapatistas Adopt Indigenous Rights
Despite the fact that government s announcement to amend the constitution came in 1992 which was a
big issue for the indigenous population, and that they had been experiencing other hardships
throughout history, the EZLN did not explicitly make indigenous rights a part of their platform until a
year later (Hayden 12). Part of the reason that the Zapatistas adopted this movement could be to gain a
stronger support base. The 1990s had already proven to have put emphasis back on questions of
indigenous rights back in the minds of people. In 1992 a movement in Latin America took place called
the 500 Years of Resistance and author Rigoberta Menchú, who came from an indigenous working
class background, being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize that same year (Ross 146). It makes sense
then that the EZLN would adopt indigenous rights as one of their objectives. The EZLN did not shed
their aims of wanting democracy and their nationalistic tone, but instead started to frame some of
these sentiments from an indigenous viewpoint. In 1995 emphasis was beginning to be put on the need
for indigenous rights. One of the most visible actions that the EZLN took that signified this ... Show

The Pre Licensing Course Exam
I passed the pre licensing course exam within the acceptable margin which means I answered at least
80% of the questions correctly. Now, on to the state exam. It is a 115 question multiple choice test
with a four hour time frame. 5 of the questions are dummies and will not be scored. You must answer
correctly 82 of the 110 questions or score at least 75%. The instructor stressed to all of us in the class
to apply immediately to The North Carolina Real Estate Commission to take the state real estate exam
after we finished the pre licensing course. I forgot the exact statistics. But, I recall that you stand an
excellent chance of passing the exam on the first try within 2 weeks after taking the pre licensing
exam because the material you learned and was tested on is fresh in your mind. For each day that
passes after the two week period, your chances of passing goes down considerably. You are allowed to
take the exam a second time if you fail on the first attempt. If you fail on the second try, you have to
start from square one with the pre licensing course. I had filled out The North Carolina Real Estate
Commission exam application weeks before the end of the pre licensing course ended which our
instructor encouraged us to do. It is extremely important to fill out the application entirely, accurately
and to furnish all the identification documents requested by the Commission. Most important is to

Deregulation And Lack Of Supervision
Additionally, reasons for most of the major crises were deregulation and lack of supervision. Until
recently, such complex products like derivatives were unsupervised as they were not directly
connected to the deposits.
A change in regulation is one of the problems which arises for structured products. For example
decision of government to decrease use of non standardised or opaquely priced financial products. The
aim of such action is to attract attention of structured products users to the need of covering
externalities placed by such instruments.
Moreover, crises are considered to be consequences of several negative economic indicators, however
this is not correct for the 2007 crisis, which happened during the period of high and stable growth rate
and low inflation. Due to a strong connection between financial markets, the crisis spread fast
globally. This showed that even well developed economic system can experience damageable drops.
As a countermeasure, in developed countries, governments set their monetary policies to stimulate
industrial output and recover financial markets.
4.2. Structured Products are to Blame
Structured products are blamed for playing important role in the 2007 crisis. The securitisation process
changed the way banks operate as the originate to hold model replaced by the fee driven originate to
distribute model. New operating model helped banks reduce maturity mismatch for assets and
liabilities. However, such products are not transparent

Comparing The Seafarer And The Wanderer
Looking at these two poems considered to be sister poems I have found distinct similarities and
differences. In The Seafarer, an old man is reflecting upon his life as a sailor. He described his
personal burdens of being on sea but he does find beauty in it. But as in The Wanderer, a warrior is
upon the ocean searching for comfort as he mourns the loss of his loved ones and society. It is well
understood that they have the feeling of loneliness in common as well as the importance in sharing a
connection with God. But there are differences as well, such as The Wanderer is repining and The
Seafarer is looking back on the times he now sees as desirable. Yet as reading these poems, I have
found more similarities than differences.
First, a similar connection these two poems share is the theme of loneliness. In The Seafarer it said,
No kinsman could offer comfort there, to a soul left drowning in desolation (Seafarer, 25 25). By his
description of drowning in desolation, it could be interpreted as suffocating with devastation, no one
can soothe his lonely soul. Corresponding to The Wanderer, My heart has closed on itself, quietly

Effect Of Divorce On America
Each year as families are progressing to be built there are more familes decreasing. The online
database The Effects of Divorce In America connects to how many children will grow to see there
parents divorce before the age of 18. Mounting evidence in social science journals demonstrates that
the devastating physical, emotional, and financial effects that divorce is having on these children will
last well into adulthood and affect future generations . This problem that is occurring with children
being involved in divorces is causing the world to be kept at a low with violence and education.
Which is allowing behavioral effects and the rate of divorces to be kept at a high. With the lowering of
children having families also only 42 percent of children aged 14 to 18 live in a First Marriage family

Starting from the beginning of the nineteen sixties is when the evolution of divorces began to rise.

How Did Henry Ford Impact The Automobile Industry
Henry Ford was the man who created the weekend and we thank him for that. Henry Ford changed the
car industry more than anyone before him. Ford was the man who started the Ford Motor Company,

of friends, Thomas Edison who gave Ford a job at his plant. Due to all of the things that Ford did, he
impacted the car industry forever. The support in Ford s early life helped him get to the inventor he

Social cultural learning can be illustrated through the examination of businesses operating out of both
developed and emerging economies. A close examination of their similarities and differences provides

insight into how companies within emerging economies are able to leverage their resources and
capabilities in the development and growth of successful operations. The pervasive thought is

markets such as China, allows them to continue their profitable growth (Gupta, 2012). Core Resources
and Capabilities of Multinationals in Emerging Economies The one constant capability with
companies from emerging markets is their willingness and capability to learn. Transforming this
learning and the abundance of low cost resources allows these companies to execute a low cost
strategy. This low cost strategy has provided the inlets into both emerging and developed markets.
Using a strict resource based analysis consisting of value, rarity, imitability and organization (VRIO),
suggest such an imitation strategy will lead to parity and average returns. An example of this would be
Lenovo s ability to imitate other successful PC manufactures capabilities. Lenovo model adds value
but their resources are not rare which means it can be imitated and exploited by another firm. If this is
the case why can Lenovo continue to grow? Institutional factors such as understanding the

This patient has athlete s foot that has transmitted to his hand. This is a fungal infection caused by
tineas, a cutaneous mycoses (22). b. Even though he had a chronic infection, he had no systemic
complaints. Is this consistent with the pathogenesis of the organism causing his infection? Explain
Tinea pedis is not highly dangerous to the host, but it is infectious. Athlete s foot tends to be higher in
males than in females and it causes onychomycosis, a fungal infection of the nails, which is
representative by this patient (22). The most common symptom is acute discomfort that tends to occur
between the digits of the foot, but rarely cause sepsis. It is typically treated with a topical cream or
oral therapy if topical cream does not work,

Bite Movie Comparison
I knew going in that I was going to love The Curse / Curse II: The Bite Double Feature from Scream
Factory, based solely on the little blurb on the back of the case, which reads A Double Dose Of 80s
Horror! . Anyone that actually reads my site knows I have an unhealthy affection towards 80s horror
films, so when the cover is screaming out that these are two 80s horror gems, how can you not end up
loving them. Loving them is exactly what happened when watching this Double Feature, but in my
complete and utter surprise, I ended up enjoying the second movie Curse II: The Bite way more than
The Curse, two films that have nothing in common save a name. I ll get into exactly what I enjoyed
the sequel better, but for now, let s get on with the review of the first movie... PRODUCT

Frankly, I didn t see much of an issue with the transfer, save for a few rough scenes taking place in a
hospital, which had some wear and tear present. Besides that, the transfer was fairly solid. The same
goes for The Curse, which keeps a lovely grainfield intact, but still has some nice solid blacks. As for
the audio, which is DTS HD Master Audio Stereo for both, it s a bit on the low side in Curse II s case,
resulting in having to turn up the speakers a bit higher than usual, but overall, the sound was clean and
clear for both movies. The only feature, which really shouldn t be considered a feature is a trailer for
The Curse, which has the a pretty epic voice over speech from that trailer voice guy. I ve seen a few
things online about some behind the scenes clips for the special effects work on Curse II: The Bite, so
I m not entirely sure why this couldn t be included on this disc. It s a shame really, as I would have
loved to see some of the details that went into those gory scenes. BLU RAY SPECIAL FEATURES

Taking a Look at Television Broadcasting
In many cases, it is safe to say that television broadcasting has polished the narrow mindedness of an
imperative individual to either antagonize a supreme man running for presidency or be his very back
bone in the process of voting. As airing prominent speeches made by powerful political figures can get
one simple idea of justice to more than half the nation as it stands, it can create a strained society in
which one will seem to manipulate the others aspect of just, and in return will call for protests. In the
favor of qualifying that television broadcast has been both deleterious and accommodating to vote
percentages, sources A, B, and F help to embellish the main points fabricated in this essay. As of now,
in twenty first century, broadcasting has been very popular and it only seems to give birth to new
forms of idea that can be compressed into what the media has to portray. Media, even in a history not
so far away from our past have engendered the idea of setting powerful people to defend why they
should be elected as president. Broadcasting, even in our not so long ago history has took the initiative
to display one man sitting in office to half the nation The advent of television in the late 1940 s gave
rise to the belief that a new era was opening in public communication...its wide geographic
distribution and impact, provides a new, direct, and sensitive link between Washington and the people

Porn Stereotypes
Working within the porn industry can go both ways, there is a positive and a negative to all this. Not
all women who work within the sex industry are victims; some women actually enjoy it and do not see
an issue in being exploited whatsoever. According to a study that was done, Sixty nine percent of porn
actresses ranked their enjoyment of sex as 10 out of 10... Porn actresses were also more likely to
report higher self esteem than average women , including that the results of the research showed an
insignificance against the stereotypes anti porn feminists have argued about these women being
sexually abused as children, The results of the research failed to support many common stereotypes.
Most notably, the porn actresses were no more likely to report having been sexually abused as children
than national averages or than a sample of demographically matched women (Pappas, 2013). The
studies that have been done about the porn industry have mostly shown the negatives rather than
focusing on what the people think and feel about working in it. Stephanie Pappas also mentions how
there is not enough research to conclude nor fully support the stereotypes or issues that activists have
argued about, This lack of research is notable given the number of stereotypes about porn actresses... it
s hard to know for sure without more extensive studies, early explorations have found these
stereotypes fail to hold up (Pappas, 2013). In spite of this, for those who have or are working in

Lipoma
Abstract:
Lipomas represent about 1 to 4% of all neoplasms of the oral cavity. They mostly present as slow
growing, asymptomatic lesions with a characteristic yellowish colour soft and doughy feel. 0ral
lipomas affect predominantly the buccal mucosa, floor of mouth, tongue and lips. Although relatively
common, intraoral lipomas and its variants are seen in the literature. In the present case, lesion was
excised surgically with the intra oral approach and it did not showed any recurrence.
Introduction
The foremost description of oral lipomas was first reported by Roux in 1848 in a review of alveolar
masses. He referred lipoma as a yellow epulis.1 Lipomas are common benign soft tissue neoplasms

Social Media And Social Networking Essay
If asked, would you be able to explain what the definition of social media is? Social media is the noun
used to define websites that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social
networking. Now you may wonder, what is the difference in social media and social networking?
Social networking is the practice of expanding the number of one s business and/or social contacts by
making connections through individuals, often through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter,
Google+ and Instagram. (cite) | Statistics show that most children get introduced to cyberbullying
when they fully understand how to use the internet. The majority of children have admitted to
harassing or being bullied on a social media website from the age nine to eighteen. The gender of the
child also makes a difference according to some poles taken. Girls are more likely to spread rumors
through the virtual world, whereas; boys are more expected to comment and post antagonizing
pictures and videos. (good and interesting information to have but the transition from different social
media sites to the bullying paragraph is rapid and just thrown in there) Crazy to think but the birth of
social media was in 1997. The first social media site that everyone can agree actually was social media
was a website called Six Degrees. It was named after the six degrees of separation theory and lasted
from 1997 to 2001. Six degrees allowed users to create a profile and then friend other

However, the rapid growth of the Internet has introduced a completely new level of security related
problems
(1) Technology and Security issues (2) Legal issues and (3) Regulatory and Supervisory issues
The problem here is that since theOne would think that the main purpose for a bank besides managing
one s money would be giving good customer service. Excellence in customer service is the most
important tool for sustained business growth. Customer complaints are part of the business life of any
corporate entity. This is more so for banks because banks are service organizations. As a service
organization, customer service and customer satisfaction should be the prime concern of any bank.
Banks believe that by providing prompt and efficient service on to their customers, this is essential not
only to attract new customers, but also to retain existing ones because customer dissatisfaction would
spoil the bank s name and image. To provide this kind of service more fast and efficient, the major
weapon of bank is e banking.
There are several Research Design techniques that can be used to identify customer perceptions about
internet banking and also service problems such as debit card fraud and loan issues. A survey was
implemented to find out how well customer perception about e banking leads to various banker s
function and the studies have found that the exploratory research was used in order to identify all

The Factors Controlling the Rate of the Sodium Thiosulphate and Acid Reaction
Planning
I am investigating the factors controlling the rate of thiosulphate / acid reaction. The reaction that will
be taking place will follow the rate at which sulphur is formed in the reaction of sodium thiosulphate
with dilute hydrochloric acid. In the experiment the sulphur will appear as an extremely fine
precipitate. This will slowly be followed by a milky appearance in the reaction mixture in the conical
flask. As the amount of the sulphur in the mixture increases, the precipitate will become milkier.
Gradually the liquid will become more and more opaque. To investigate the rate of the reaction, we

The Preliminary Experiment
The aim of the preliminary experiment was to find out suitable concentrations of thiosulphate one
should put in to the reaction. I did not want to end up doing the experiment without knowing how long
it will take and which concentrations would be suitable.
Method
Ø Apparatus: Conical flask, burette, stopwatch, a cross on a piece of paper, a thermometer and safety
glasses.
Ø Safety procedures: One must wear safety glasses at all times because there are dangerous chemicals
in the experiment. One should also stand up when doing the experiment so if the flask falls off the
bench you do not get hurt.

Human Intelligence In The Internet Era. Nowadays, If A
Human Intelligence in the Internet Era Nowadays, if a young adult hears a new terminology, instead
of going to a library and looking it up in an encyclopedia as what his or her parents would have done,
he or she will pull out his or her smartphone and google it. Thanks to Google and all other commercial
Internet companies, we are closer to all kinds of information, both useful and useless, than any other
time in human history. In Nicholas Carr s article Is Google Making Us Stupid? , he admits how the
immediate access to the rich store of online information benefits him largely as a writer (Carr, 589).
While enjoying this positive influence of the Net, however, he brings up a side effect of the Internet
which is hardly ever mentioned: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overall, as Carr has suggested, we should be aware of the changes in our reading and thinking
behaviors that the Internet causes, try to keep thinking in the deep and perceptive way and cherish the
ambiguity of our human intelligence. In the article, Carr expresses his concerns about the Internet, but
he is not completely negative about it or against it; he writes ahead that the Internet has been a
godsend to him as a writer (Carr, 589). What he tries to do is to remind us that there are another
possible perspective and guideline when we judge and criticize the Internet. After describing all his
concerns about the Internet and human intelligence, Carr writes that maybe he is just a worrywart and
there s a countertendency to expect the worst of every new tool or machine and refers to the example
of Socrates and Squarciafico (Carr, 595). He shows his acknowledgment of the opportunities the Net
brings us and his understanding of the reasonability of possible disagreement with him. You should be
skeptical of my skepticism, he writes (Carr, 596). He expects us to be skeptical of his argument,
because he wants us to think more about both pros and cons of the Net. He does not try to deny the
Internet or convince us not to use it. Instead, he puts forward the other side of the case to let us have
forethought from a different perspective and to be more critical when judging the Internet. When we
agree on the bright side of the Internet, how it enables to

Ken Griffey Research Paper
The Kid. Junior. The silky smooth left handed swing that you could watch all day. 630 home runs.
Range. 10 Gold Gloves. 13 All Star appearances. Ken Griffey.
George Kenneth Griffey Jr. was born on November 21, 1969 in Donora, Pennsylvania. Ken was a
buttery smooth slugger, and a five tool centerfielder who was one of the most iconic athletes of the 90
s.
George was born to parents Ken Griffey Sr. and Alberta Griffey. Although Ken was born in
Pennsylvania, he moved to Cincinnati, as his father played for the Reds when he was six years old.
Ken grew up in a baseball oriented house hold. As a kid, he would run around the house swinging a
bat. At one point during his Hall of Fame speech he said, My parents let me be me. You know, they let

He batted second in the lineup, and anchored down the outfield with the center field position. On his
first at bat, he ripped a line drive into the left centerfield gap for his first ever major league hit. The
next week, he hit his first homerun. Ken continued to rise at Seattle, as he was a consistent All Star
throughout the 1990 s.
During the early (1990 1991), Ken Griffey and his father, Ken Griffey Sr. acquired the chance to play
alongside each other on the Mariners. The duo played 51 games together, until Griffey Sr. retired.
Griffey played for the Mariners, Reds, and the White Sox s. After playing 22 seasons, he retired in
2010. He finished his career 2781 hits, 630 home runs, 1836 runs batted in, and 184 stolen bases.
Although Ken s career was tatted with injuries, he finished 6th all time in home runs, and labeled ats
the best five tool center fielder ever.
Ken was forced to retire after he was accused of napping during a game in the 2010 season. He stated
that he didn t want to be a distraction to the team. After his withdraw, Ken was hired in the Mariners

Bigotry And Prejudice Similarities
Prejudice and bigotry are similar in ways of singling out a group of people and disliking them. In
history prejudice has escalated quickly into wars, most notable of such would be, world war II (Hitler
s concentration camps) and the American Civil war (battle for slave freedom in the U.S.) Anybody is
capable of being prejudice, the battle of prejudice has been around as long as we have documentation
for. Prejudice is even found in the Bible, when the Hebrews were being held as slaves in Egypt and
Moses came in leading them to the promise land of Jerusalem. Prejudice is caused by the stereotyping
of a group of people without getting to know them. One could link this to sociocultural psychology,
because they are basing their hatred to a certain

Should Fracking Be Used For Money For Traditional Sources...
This house believes that fracking should be used to compensate for traditional sources of fossil fuels
in the UK in the next 40 years. I am arguing against this motion from a social and environmental
angle. Introduction: In order to comply with the goal to cut traditional fossil fuel consumption by
2050, the UK needs to turn to alternative types of energy. Fracking is a method of extracting shale gas
from deep within the earth s surface, by injecting large quantities of water at very high pressures. This
water is mixed with chemicals, in order to free the gas by breaking down the shale within sedimentary
rocks (Goodwin 2014). These rocks are impermeable, the gas cannot flow through it, and so it needs
extracting via fracking. Currently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fracking shouldn t be used to compensate for traditional sources of fossil fuels as the UK already
undergoes water crisis during periods with little rainfall. As a result of global warming, less frequent
but more intense precipitation events are expected to occur, preventing groundwater supplies
recharging because once the ground becomes saturated no more water can penetrate. Using millions of
gallons of water per well is likely to result in aquifer depletion, as the rate of precipitation and runoff
cannot replace the groundwater supplies used in fracking (Finelka, 2013). This could cause a
competition for water, with different resource users wanting supplies for what they deem most
important (Homme, 2014). Fracking companies will want the water for shale gas extraction but
farmers will want it for agriculture and homeowners for cooking and drinking. Using the water
supplies for fracking isn t right when water is a vital necessity for human survival, whether it is for
crop growth or drinking. We need to prioritise our water usage, and using millions of gallons of water
for shale gas extraction isn t more important than basic necessities. Fracking supporters argue recycled
wastewater or brackish water could be used rather than clean water, but this isn t always available in
the quantities needed and in 2011 this only counted for 1/5 of the water

Guantanamo Bay And Its Effects On The United States
Cuba, only 400 miles from Miami Fl, is an island in the Caribbean and is renowned for its excellent
climate. There are beaches for swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and boating opportunities.
The island has it s dark secrets as well, there is Guantanamo Bay, a prison nearby, where the detainee s
right are stripped away and they are beaten daily. Closing Guantanamo Bay has been a big debate over
the past few years. President Although what they are doing is technically legal, it is still
unconstitutional on U.S. soil. Obama promised us that during his term he would close it. Obama has
said that Keeping this facility open is contrary to our values. It undermines our standing in the world.
It is viewed as a stain on our broader record of upholding the highest standards of rule of law.
Guantanamo Bay is an embarrassment to our country and has been since it opened. The camp was
repeatedly criticized by human rights and humanitarian organizations all around including Amnesty
international, Human Rights Watch, and the International committee of the Red Cross as well as by
the European Union and the Organization of American States(OAS), for alleged human rights
violations, including the use of various forms of torture during interrogations. We need to close
Guantanamo Bay because it costs a lot of money to keep it open, it is unconstitutional, and we can
contain the prisoners in the U.S.
At Guantanamo Bay, the prisoners have been getting their rights taken away and

What Is The Value Of The Motion Picture Industry
It is no surprise to know that there has been an increase in interest towards the motion picture industry.
Largely because the motion picture industry has become a significant source of revenue in many
countries. Thousands of movies are made each year, and they total to billions of dollars in revenue.
For example, in 2006, more than 3,000 movies were in theaters totaling to $23.8 billion in revenue.
Motion pictures are also instrumental in shaping worldwide impressions of a country s intellectual,
historical, and cultural environment. In this paper, my objective is to address certain issues pertaining
to the motion picture industry, specifically its value chain, the competitive landscape, the notion of net
profit, cost allocation considerations, and the key elements to consider when conducting a cost
variance analysis. The value chain of the motion picture industry consists of three stages production,
distribution, and exhibition then it finally arrives for the consumption, where the audiences can see the
final product. As the saying goes it takes a village in each of these stages to get the motion picture to
consumers, but it is no easy task to make a motion picture. There are four phases involved before,
during, and after the production stage: development, pre production, production, and post production.
In the development phase, the producer acquires intellectual property. There is no particular order in
which this is done, but the producer needs to purchase the rights to make the film, acquire a
screenwriter, and obtain initial financing. This is easier for major studios, because hiring well known
screenwriters, actors and actresses, as well as the director, makes it easier to obtain financing.
Independent studios, on the other hand, have a limited budgeted and are only able to show a preview
for major or subsidiary studios.
Then the studio decision makers determine whether the film will be successful and compare it to other
films. They also develop a scenario analysis of potential box office revenues and determine if they
should move forward with the film. Films are only given the green light once the executives are
satisfied with the predicted probability, and once they secure financing.

  • 2. The Pros And Cons Of Cyber Crime Cyber crime is criminal activity done using computers and the Internet. This ranges from downloading illegal music files to offenses, such as creating and distributing viruses on other computers or posting private business information on the Internet. Perhaps the most outstanding form of cyber crime is identity theft, in which wrongdoers use the web to steal personal information from other users. One of the most frequent ways this is done is through phishing. This method entices people to fake websites (that appear to be legitimate), where they are asked to enter information about themselves. This includes inputting information, such as usernames and passwords, mobile numbers, addresses, credit card numbers, and other information criminals can use to gain another person s identity. Many people in developing countries are getting attracted towards because of high unemployment and low wages . (Kshetri, 2010) Another way this is done is through the use of viruses, There is a number of ways that you can get a virus on your computer while on the other side someone is able to access all the data in your machine. One of the most common way on how this is done is when an attachment is sent to you on email or any other social networking site and when you open it, your machine ... Although year round school can help students stay focused on what they are learning in school it is destroying the time that kids spend on sports and vacations with their family. To begin with, kids need fresh air; they need to be outside playing with their friends they don t need to be stuck in a classroom for six weeks. Not being able to get exercise is not a good thing for kids they need to be outside exercising not stuck in a classroom. • 4. The Importance Of Tragic Events In Mariatu s Life Although I do not entirely relate to Mariatu or many of the tragic events that have occurred during her life time, one event during Mariatu s life I do relate to is when she moved to Toronto. Firstly, I relate to Mariatu during this event in her life because both Mariatu and I moved from Africa to Canada. Now despite the fact that she moved to Toronto due to the war in her homeland and moved at a much older age than I did , I do still believe we do relate in this instance because we both had to leave our homelands that we were both very fond of so we could receive a much better and more fair life. Also, as it states in the book Mariatu had a hard time fitting into her new school. Although I did receive an education in Africa and Mariatu did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Augusta Ada s Life And Accomplishments Augusta Ada Byron was born in London on December 10, 1815, and was the daughter of a famous poet ,named Lord Byron. Her parents did not have a very happy marriage and once Ada was born, they seperated. A few months after she was born, her dad left to England and never saw her again. He later then died when Ada was 8. I assume that because her parents seperated at a young age and Ada was too young to get to know her father, his absensce probably didn t affect her as much as it would have if she were older when this happened. Because her father wasn t around, Ada was brought up by her mother, who was always insisting on getting Ada tutors in mathemarics and science. • 6. The Weather Of Panama City Beach The weather in Panama City Beach, Florida, is beautiful in June. Though the twelve hour trip down there seemed very long and boring, the trip was ultimately worth it. There are a lot of interesting things to do in Panama City Beach, Florida. The first thing that we did when we finally got there, was to check into the hotel and take our stuff to the room, which was on the first floor facing the beach. It had three rooms. One had the kitchenette, a couch, and a bed with a TV mounted on the wall across from it. The second room had two beds and a TV mounted on the opposite wall. In between the two rooms was the bathroom. After we finished looking around the rooms, we went out to the white sand beach through the sliding glass doors in the first room to watch the sunset. The colors of the sunset against the light green water were amazing. The reds, oranges, and yellows seemed more vibrant next to the color of that water. It made me wonder why people don t just stay on the beach for the rest of their lives. I knew that I would have happily stayed there forever just to see sunsets like that every night for the rest of my life. We stayed on the beach until the sun was completely gone and the sky was dark. After the beach was completely dark and quiet, we headed back to the hotel. The hotel had many things to do inside. The first thing we did when we got back inside was go to the front desk to see all the activities that they had at our hotel. We decided that we wanted to do the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Chile Of Peru And Chile For the fault zone that I chose to research for this project, I chose the Peru Chile Trench, also known as the Chile Subduction Megathrust and as the Atacama Trench. It is called that because the area between Peru and Chile is called The Atacama , and such was the plate named. The Peru Chile trench is located along the western coast of Peru and Chile. It marks the zone where the Nazca plate is being subducted beneath the South American plate and is approximately 3,666 miles long. The most recent large scale earthquake along the Peru Chile Plate was the 16 September earthquake, which happened in 2015. It measured an M 8.3, one of the largest on record. 5 were killed, and over 1 million were evacuated from greatly affected areas. However, compared to other earthquakes that have taken place in Chile, this one was moderate. In 2010, an 8.8 Mw earthquake shook Chile. It was approximately 200 miles southwest of Chile and was approximately 375 miles long. A 2014 study attributed the quake to immense water pressure located between the two plates. The region was stricken by strong aftershocks for months after the quake, many of a magnitude of 5.0 Mw or greater. The Tsunami that took place after the initial quake was caused by a portion of seabed rupturing upwards, and displacing a large portion of the water being displaced. This water traveled at 450 miles, at 8 feet tall, to the Chilean and Peruvian coast. Early viewers of the tsunami later reported waves being up to 10 feet tall. This rupture was believed to be caused by 2 unusually dense pieces of seabed that had been previously undetected by scientists, and consequently caused a large displacement of water. • 9. Analysis Of Signs Preceding The End Of The World Signs Preceding the End of the World Signs Preceding the End of the World is an insider s look at the mind and journey of an illegal immigrant. A Mexican young woman crossing the border story is what challenges the ethics of readers. The main character in Signs Preceding the End of the World is Makina. Makina is in charge of a small Mexican town s telephone. A reliable, messenger, she knows how to keep a secret and when to keep her mouth shut. She is dangerous when threatened, quick to defend herself against lecherous fools, and unafraid of speaking truth to power (Long). Makina is just like an ordinary person. She is no different from an average American. Makina has a job and harmless when not threatened. Americans act as if immigrants are so beneath them. Immigrants are hard workers, just like Americans. Immigrants want better lives for themselves and their families, just like Americans. Americans and immigrants are not the only ones who want these things. People all around the world want what is best for everyone they know. Most people will do whatever it takes to get to what they need; even if it is in life threatening conditions. Signs Preceding the End of the World challenges our ethics by placing the reader in the mind of an illegal immigrant, allowing the reader to know the true feelings and experience of the immigrant. The reader s ethics are first challenged when Makina began her journey; when the reader finds out that Makina needs to find her brother that has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Mexican Culture Research Paper What makes a culture distinctive? What shapes a culture s development throughout history? For many cultures, one of the main answers is religion. Religion has, for millennia, formed the backbone of most societies, and it often shapes people s identity. Mexico is no different. The connection of religion and culture in Mexico is made clear through its current demographics, its history, and its festivals. Religion is a part of most people s lives in Mexico. In the 2010 census, approximately 90% of the population claimed to be at least nominally religious: 82.7% of the population identified as Roman Catholic, with another 9% claiming an affiliation with another religion ( Mexico, n.d.). The practice of Catholicism in the country varies greatly, from groups that follow a rigid interpretation of Catholic doctrine to indigenous groups who practice syncretistic religions, or the mixing of Catholic practices with traditional, indigenous rituals. • 11. The Importance Of The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man The French Revolution, a time span of widespread social and political disturbance that lasted about ten years from 1789 until 1799. During the period of the French Revolution, rights, privilege, and freedom were topics to be spoken about. Rights was a topic that created such big controversy because not all the laws that were put into work made sense and not all applied as they said they would. Things like the Declaration of The Rights of Man were released to that have many laws referring to the freedom of man. Even with these laws being passed people still were not content because many people were not incorporated. Citizens were said to be free of expression in all ways possible, but only those who were considered to be citizens, and as said before not all were included. Many who did not hold active power and contribution were also to be excluded from these benefits that were provided with The Declaration of The Rights of Man. Along with that there were also some religious differences within beliefs of others. Rights took a bewildering role during the French Revolution because when it came to the matter of freedom, the rights that were given at the time would contradict their statements with many minority groups. During the first year of the of the French Revolution, August 1789 and September 1790, the National Assembly took in hand to create and build a new political society. • 13. Why Did The Zapatistas Adopt Indigenous Rights Despite the fact that government s announcement to amend the constitution came in 1992 which was a big issue for the indigenous population, and that they had been experiencing other hardships throughout history, the EZLN did not explicitly make indigenous rights a part of their platform until a year later (Hayden 12). Part of the reason that the Zapatistas adopted this movement could be to gain a stronger support base. The 1990s had already proven to have put emphasis back on questions of indigenous rights back in the minds of people. In 1992 a movement in Latin America took place called the 500 Years of Resistance and author Rigoberta Menchú, who came from an indigenous working class background, being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize that same year (Ross 146). It makes sense then that the EZLN would adopt indigenous rights as one of their objectives. The EZLN did not shed their aims of wanting democracy and their nationalistic tone, but instead started to frame some of these sentiments from an indigenous viewpoint. In 1995 emphasis was beginning to be put on the need for indigenous rights. One of the most visible actions that the EZLN took that signified this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 16. Deregulation And Lack Of Supervision Additionally, reasons for most of the major crises were deregulation and lack of supervision. Until recently, such complex products like derivatives were unsupervised as they were not directly connected to the deposits. A change in regulation is one of the problems which arises for structured products. For example decision of government to decrease use of non standardised or opaquely priced financial products. The aim of such action is to attract attention of structured products users to the need of covering externalities placed by such instruments. Moreover, crises are considered to be consequences of several negative economic indicators, however this is not correct for the 2007 crisis, which happened during the period of high and stable growth rate and low inflation. Due to a strong connection between financial markets, the crisis spread fast globally. This showed that even well developed economic system can experience damageable drops. As a countermeasure, in developed countries, governments set their monetary policies to stimulate industrial output and recover financial markets. 4.2. Structured Products are to Blame Structured products are blamed for playing important role in the 2007 crisis. • 17. Comparing The Seafarer And The Wanderer Looking at these two poems considered to be sister poems I have found distinct similarities and differences. In The Seafarer, an old man is reflecting upon his life as a sailor. He described his personal burdens of being on sea but he does find beauty in it. But as in The Wanderer, a warrior is upon the ocean searching for comfort as he mourns the loss of his loved ones and society. It is well understood that they have the feeling of loneliness in common as well as the importance in sharing a connection with God. But there are differences as well, such as The Wanderer is repining and The Seafarer is looking back on the times he now sees as desirable. Yet as reading these poems, I have found more similarities than differences. First, a similar connection these two poems share is the theme of loneliness. In The Seafarer it said, No kinsman could offer comfort there, to a soul left drowning in desolation (Seafarer, 25 25). By his description of drowning in desolation, it could be interpreted as suffocating with devastation, no one can soothe his lonely soul. In The Wanderer the narrator is blackened, talking about how he is in need of benefaction, Grey with mourning. Once there were men to whom my heart could hurry, not with open longing. • 20. Effect Of Divorce On America Each year as families are progressing to be built there are more familes decreasing. The online database The Effects of Divorce In America connects to how many children will grow to see there parents divorce before the age of 18. Mounting evidence in social science journals demonstrates that the devastating physical, emotional, and financial effects that divorce is having on these children will last well into adulthood and affect future generations . This problem that is occurring with children being involved in divorces is causing the world to be kept at a low with violence and education. Which is allowing behavioral effects and the rate of divorces to be kept at a high. With the lowering of children having families also only 42 percent of children aged 14 to 18 live in a First Marriage family . Social cultural learning can be illustrated through the examination of businesses operating out of both developed and emerging economies. A close examination of their similarities and differences provides distinctions with their beliefs toward business operations and ethics. This type of examination can lend insight into how companies within emerging economies are able to leverage their resources and capabilities in the development and growth of successful operations. Copycats essentially learned how to conduct business from an already successful business model. Although PC sales in the US continue to decline Lenovo s ability to capture emerging markets such as China, allows them to continue their profitable growth (Gupta, 2012). Core Resources and Capabilities of Multinationals in Emerging Economies The one constant capability with companies from emerging markets is their willingness and capability to learn. Transforming this learning and the abundance of low cost resources allows these companies to execute a low cost strategy. This low cost strategy has provided the inlets into both emerging and developed markets. This house believes that fracking should be used to compensate for traditional sources of fossil fuels in the UK in the next 40 years. I am arguing against this motion from a social and environmental angle. Introduction: In order to comply with the goal to cut traditional fossil fuel consumption by 2050, the UK needs to turn to alternative types of energy. Fracking is a method of extracting shale gas from deep within the earth s surface, by injecting large quantities of water at very high pressures. This water is mixed with chemicals, in order to free the gas by breaking down the shale within sedimentary rocks (Goodwin 2014). These rocks are impermeable, the gas cannot flow through it, and so it needs extracting via fracking. Currently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fracking shouldn t be used to compensate for traditional sources of fossil fuels as the UK already undergoes water crisis during periods with little rainfall. As a result of global warming, less frequent but more intense precipitation events are expected to occur, preventing groundwater supplies recharging because once the ground becomes saturated no more water can penetrate. Using millions of gallons of water per well is likely to result in aquifer depletion, as the rate of precipitation and runoff cannot replace the groundwater supplies used in fracking (Finelka, 2013). This could cause a competition for water, with different resource users wanting supplies for what they deem most important (Homme, 2014). Fracking companies will want the water for shale gas extraction but farmers will want it for agriculture and homeowners for cooking and drinking. Using the water supplies for fracking isn t right when water is a vital necessity for human survival, whether it is for crop growth or drinking. We need to prioritise our water usage, and using millions of gallons of water for shale gas extraction isn t more important than basic necessities. • 37. What Is The Value Of The Motion Picture Industry It is no surprise to know that there has been an increase in interest towards the motion picture industry. Largely because the motion picture industry has become a significant source of revenue in many countries. Thousands of movies are made each year, and they total to billions of dollars in revenue. For example, in 2006, more than 3,000 movies were in theaters totaling to $23.8 billion in revenue. Motion pictures are also instrumental in shaping worldwide impressions of a country s intellectual, historical, and cultural environment. In this paper, my objective is to address certain issues pertaining to the motion picture industry, specifically its value chain, the competitive landscape, the notion of net profit, cost allocation considerations, and the key elements to consider when conducting a cost variance analysis. The value chain of the motion picture industry consists of three stages production, distribution, and exhibition then it finally arrives for the consumption, where the audiences can see the final product. As the saying goes it takes a village in each of these stages to get the motion picture to consumers, but it is no easy task to make a motion picture. There are four phases involved before, during, and after the production stage: development, pre production, production, and post production. In the development phase, the producer acquires intellectual property. There is no particular order in which this is done, but the producer needs to purchase the rights to make the film, acquire a screenwriter, and obtain initial financing. This is easier for major studios, because hiring well known screenwriters, actors and actresses, as well as the director, makes it easier to obtain financing. Independent studios, on the other hand, have a limited budgeted and are only able to show a preview for major or subsidiary studios. Then the studio decision makers determine whether the film will be successful and compare it to other films. They also develop a scenario analysis of potential box office revenues and determine if they should move forward with the film. Films are only given the green light once the executives are satisfied with the predicted probability, and once they secure financing. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
