RADIO TRAILER
 We have chosen Capital as our radio station as it fits our
target audience. As well they have regular Ad breaks during
the shows so this would be the perfect time for ours to be
released and played.
 Capital radio is based in Birmingham City Centre and began
broadcasting in 1995 as Choice FM, it then changed its name
to Galaxy and in 2011 changed again to Capital when it was
taken over by Global Radio from nine-station.
 Although our documentary is going to be on Channel 4 we will
not release our radio trailer on Channel 4 Radio as we expect
the majority of our target audience to listen to Capital more
than Channel 4 Radio as it is more targeted at our age range
of 16-24.
RADIO STATION
 Looking at Channel 4 and its other feeder channels like E4 the
majority of its programmes are either based on education,
entertainment and soap ‘Hollyoaks’. this is a advantage for us as
our documentary is educational and informative on the topic of
mobile phones.
 Although we are not going to be releasing our radio trailer of
Channel 4 Radio, Capital is not linked to any TV station,
therefore I have done the research into Channel 4/E4 instead.
 Channel 4/E4 have educational programmes such as: Educating
Essex, and entertainment programmes such as: the Secret Life of
Students and Body Shockers.
 The programmes produced from these channels have the same
target audience as our documentary. Specifically why we have
chosen to release it on Channel 4. We also chose Channel 4
because one of their higher demographics is the age range of our
target audience, 16-24. Meaning that our target audience is easy
to approach and draw into our documentary.
CHANNEL 4/RADIO
We plan to create meaning in our documentary by following
convention.
Our documentary is based on reality, real views and opinions
from real people. No manipulation of peoples answers, just
reliable feedback and personal opinions. This is also best for
our documentary as it focuses on all issues within the
individuals life and the effect the of the mobile device on them.
Therefore our documentary will be classed as a realist
documentary as it will feature real people which allows the
audience too relate directly to the product.

Radio trailer

  • 2.  We have chosen Capital as our radio station as it fits our target audience. As well they have regular Ad breaks during the shows so this would be the perfect time for ours to be released and played.  Capital radio is based in Birmingham City Centre and began broadcasting in 1995 as Choice FM, it then changed its name to Galaxy and in 2011 changed again to Capital when it was taken over by Global Radio from nine-station.  Although our documentary is going to be on Channel 4 we will not release our radio trailer on Channel 4 Radio as we expect the majority of our target audience to listen to Capital more than Channel 4 Radio as it is more targeted at our age range of 16-24.   • 3.  Looking at Channel 4 and its other feeder channels like E4 the majority of its programmes are either based on education, entertainment and soap ‘Hollyoaks’. this is a advantage for us as our documentary is educational and informative on the topic of mobile phones.  Although we are not going to be releasing our radio trailer of Channel 4 Radio, Capital is not linked to any TV station, therefore I have done the research into Channel 4/E4 instead.  Channel 4/E4 have educational programmes such as: Educating Essex, and entertainment programmes such as: the Secret Life of Students and Body Shockers.  The programmes produced from these channels have the same target audience as our documentary. Specifically why we have chosen to release it on Channel 4. We also chose Channel 4 because one of their higher demographics is the age range of our target audience, 16-24. Meaning that our target audience is easy to approach and draw into our documentary. CHANNEL 4/RADIO
  • 4. We plan to create meaning in our documentary by following convention. Our documentary is based on reality, real views and opinions from real people. No manipulation of peoples answers, just reliable feedback and personal opinions. This is also best for our documentary as it focuses on all issues within the individuals life and the effect the of the mobile device on them. Therefore our documentary will be classed as a realist documentary as it will feature real people which allows the audience too relate directly to the product. MEANING: CODES AND CONVENTIONS
