Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

1. S I O B H A N R U H A N
What have you learnt from your
audience feedback?
2. Section A: Documentary
Would you want to watch the rest of this documentary?
Yes
No
Unsure
We thought that it was very
important to find out whether our
audience would carry on watching
the documentary. We were
extremely happy with these results
as 8/10 students said they would
continue to watch the rest of the
documentary. However 2/10
students said they were unsure. We
asked them to justify their answer.
They said they wasn’t sure what else
could be said about it.
3. Did you find the topic ‘The effects of social media on
education’ interesting?
Yes
No
Again we were very pleased with
these results. 2/10 students said that
they were interested by this topic.
They said this because they felt that it
was relevant to them and they often
do find themselves getting distracted
by social media when they are trying
to do homework or revise at home.
The students that said no said that it
is ‘easy to put your phone down’ and
‘People obviously have nothing better
to do with their time than look into
other peoples lives’.
4. Did you learn anything from watching it?
Yes
No
With every student saying ‘yes’ to this
question made us feel extremely proud
of our work. They said they learnt a lot
from the statistics shown and learnt a
lot about what teachers think about
social media. They seen social media in
a positive way as well as a negative
way.
5. From your experience, did the documentary look like a real
documentary?
Yes
No
Again we were thrilled with these
results. Being judgemental of our own
work we could see that there was some
clear improvements that we could
make. E.g. the timing of the
voiceovers. However from our
audiences point of view they believed
it looked professional. Some of the
comments we received were, ‘It was
structured very well with a clear use of
documentary conventions’ and ‘It was
very fluent’.
6. Do you feel that the documentary caused you to think a
certain way about the effects of social media on education?
Yes, it
portrayed it
negatively
Yes-it
portrayed it
positively
No-It gave
both sides of
the
argument
equally
From this question we got mixed
answers. The majority of our
audience believe that it made
them think negatively. Initially
this was the route we was taking
however when we did our
interviews we found that some
experts found social media very
useful for education. This could
have been the possible reason as
to why there was so many mixed
views from this question.
7. Did you think the sound levels were appropriate and
consistent?
Yes
No
This was one of the hardest things we
found to do in our documentary. This
was because some of the background
noises were louder in some clips than
others. We tried to edit these sounds
out to the best of our ability. From
these results, we can say we successful
managed this and that we are now
much more confident in our editing
skills.
8. Was the music suitable?
Yes
No
The music was something we decided
on last minute. We couldn’t find any
songs that are linked to social media
and education. As a result of these we
just chose an upbeat beat to place in the
background of our documentary. Some
of the audience after telling them this
were more forgiving. They said ‘it set a
perfect tone fore your documentary’.
We was happy with these comments.
9. How would you rate the documentary overall?
Poor
Average
Good
Excellent
These were the results in which we
were hoping to achieve. We were
proud of our work and we managed to
pull of a professional 5 minute
opening of a documentary.
10. Section B: radio trailer
Would this trailer encourage you to watch the documentary?
Yes
No
With 8/10 people saying that our trailer
would encourage them to watch the
documentary meant that it was
successful. We asked the people who
said no to justify their answer. They
said that the topic just didn’t stand out
to them but other than that it was an
influential radio trailer that does still
does manage to attract attention.
11. Was the music suitable?
Yes
No
We used the same music in our radio
trailer in the documentary. Therefore
we receive similar results to the
question about our music choice. This
highlights that we could possibly
improve our music however we did so
much research into looking for music
around our topic and we had no
success.
12. Were the sound levels appropriate and consistent?
Yes
No
The sound levels in our radio trailer
were also hard to control. We tried to
keep in some background noises this
time to create a more realistic trailer
that would link to our topic (sound of
college canteen). Some of our audience
said that is made the voiceover sound
muffled so this was another
improvement that we could have made.
13. What did you feel the most effective part of the radio trailer
was?
Voxpops
Facts and
Stats
Upbeat
Music
The facts and statistics proved to be
the most effective feature in our
radio trailer. Our audience said that
they wanted to find out more when
listening to these. We used the same
Voxpops that we used in our
documentary. Our audience said
they found these useful as they were
able to get an idea of the different
opinions.
14. Section C: TV Guide
Would this article encourage you to watch the documentary?
Yes
No
We were pleased with these result as
the majority of our audience said
that they would be encourage to
watch the documentary after
reading this article. Our audience
said that we didn’t give to much
information away in our text so it
was like a teaser. We did this by
using statistics and different images.
15. Would the images and other features encourage you to read
the article?
Yes
No
The majority of our audience
replied yes. They said that images
are most commonly the thing that
they take most interest in. They add
some sort of entertainment. The
images also enable the audience to
quickly identify the topic of the
documentary without having to
actually read the article.
16. What did you feel was the most effective part of the TV guide
article?
Main
heading
Images
Article
Facts
The main heading was the most
popular answer for this. This is
because its what the audience will
recognise throughout each product. If
the mast head stands out then people
are more likely to become familiar
with it and watch it if they see if on
TV. Each of the other factors were
still important however as the results
seemed to be very balanced. This
shows the importance of each feature
on a double page spread.
17. Lastly, could you see a clear link between all 3 products?
Yes
No
This was the main question which
were hoping to get all yes’s for. We
achieved this so we are overly happy
about our development and progress
of each of the products. These results
have highlighted possible areas in
which we could have improved on.
However our main aim was to ensure
a clear link between all three products
which we were able to clearly do.
