Our jingle was percussive in nature to make the radio show sound professional and relate to the vibrant music scene in Camden. The 8-second jingle was meant to be memorable and attract listeners. We used 12 sound effects simultaneously with audio, including a London Underground announcement to ensure our Camden-based audience could understand. Our presenter welcomed listeners and stated the 12pm time for headlines. The structure of our bulletin was designed to hook listeners with a tragic first story, provide relief with a positive second story about Camden Station expansion, discuss a globally known human interest fourth story on ISIS, and conclude with upcoming local Camden events.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. JINGLE
• Our jingle was percussive in nature. The usage of percussive instruments made our radio
show sound more professional, whereas it also related to our location of Camden.
Camden is a vibrant area where music is always being played so we wanted our bulletin
to have a music like feel to it
• Our jingle lasted for roughly 8 seconds before we faded it out as our presenter started to
address the audience. The reason for having a jingle of 8 seconds was so that our
audience would remember our bulletin because of the jingle which would help attract them
to listen again.
• By having a jingle at the start of a bulletin, we are able to distinguish our show from other
local shows that may exist, preventing copyright.
3. SOUND EFFECTS
• In our bulletin we used 12 different sound effects. Many of these sound effects were
played simultaneously with audio from our outside broadcasts. Whilst our presenter was
speaking we left a a gap for the sound effect.
• As Camden (Town) is a popular tourist area in London, we wanted to make sure that our
bulletin was easy to understand and listen to, moreover we had to make sure that we
used sound effects that our particular audience would understand. For example in our
second news item we used an extract from a London Underground announcement that
would be familiar with those that live in London. The extract; “Ladies and gentlemen,
would all passengers leave the station immediately” signifies that there is an apparent
issue at Camden Town station and therefore would ensure that our audience continues to
listen to find out how that problem would be rectified. (Sound Effect A)
• Alongside having sound effects of individuals talking, we used extracts from soundtracks
such as Star Wars (The Empire Strikes Back). This was because we knew that Star Wars
is popular amongst a large audience and would make our audience more enthusiastic
within our bulletin. (Sound Effect B)

4. TIME – GREETING
• Once our jingle had finished we addressed our audience with our presenter saying
“Welcome to CyperLock News. The headlines at 12.” The word welcome has a much more
friendly tone that ‘Good Afternoon’ as it implies that our radio station has a family-like
connection with our audience. It is particularly less blunt and allows our introduction to
flow into our first headline. (Sound Effect A)
• Alongside having a greeting present, we also stated the time that our bulletin was being
presented at. We stated that our radio show was going to be presented at 12pm. We
chose 12pm as news headlines are generally presented on the hour when news is
updated. At the end of our headlines we reminded our audience of the time to show a
change in events and update of news.
5. STRUCTURE OF BULLETIN
• The way in which we structured our radio bulletin was done so that we would attract our
target audience by hooking them with a news story that involved tragedy. As this news
story is also unusual (as house fires don’t happen everyday, especially with somebody
dying) it would have a better chance at hooking our audience.
• For our second item we decided to switch to a story that was based on good news (due to
the benefits of the expansion at Camden Town Station). This would relieve some of the
tension caused from our first item. Our fourth item was of human interest as it was based
off the current terrorist group ISIS that is well know globally.
• Our last news story listed upcoming events in Camden (emphasising the locality aspect of
my bulletin.) This would give our audience an idea of some of the activities they could do
in Camden.
