The document reviews and analyzes a radio news program created by the author and two others.
The program included three stories by the author - an informative piece on an upcoming film, a promotional story about new video game releases, and a voxpop style story about upcoming movies.
Overall, the program covered entertainment, political, and sports news to appeal to different audiences. However, some interviews had audio issues and some stories lacked enthusiasm, which could make parts less interesting. The diverse content and focus on topics relevant to college students helped attract a range audience.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

1. Radio News Review
I am going to talk about the three stories I created and review them, after that I will analyse the
whole show ingeneral.SoIwill startwiththe firststory. It talksabouta filmthat releases next year,
so fromthat it is informative givingthe audience inside on the film, I’d say it would target the right
audience because most people like movies and more than a few people like to find out abit more
information on that film. It is a copy only, as the first story we had to do had to be a copy only, the
presentationiscleareasytounderstand, asthere isonlya few stutters and It being a bit quiet, over
than that it gets the information across to me so that I know about this film and want to go see it
when it comes out. Then there is the editing process since it was only a copy only story it didn’t
consist of much. I simply had a few audio clips containing a few sentences of the story and then
glued them together using the software reaper to finish of the new story, if I could go back and
change it I would have increase the audio making it easy for people to hear.
Next is the second story, this is about March’s game releases. It targets the audience because the
age range of the games are mostly 18 or under and most people at college turn 18 or under so this
reaches the target audience but also attracts the audience due to being a promotional story
because of the stuff youcouldhave got whenbuyingone of the games. It was a live cross as you can
see itthe storytellerthen movesontoaninterview withagame merchant by the name of Anthony.
Some goodthingsaboutit wouldbe thatthe informationiswell informedalsoitmakesme intrigued
to by the game and see if it’s as good as people say. Then there is the bad point to the story even
though it seems to be somewhat louder than the previous story, it still lacks sound which I should
have realisedduringediting, other than that there are a few pauses which seem to cause the story
to lack making it not reach its full potential. Next would be the editing this was also similar to the
previous story the only difference would be the fades during the story cutting to the Interview to
indicate the live cross.
Finally we have the third story, this story features the movies that come out this may, it target
audience is well met because I mention the Lowry which is relevant to college because it is one of
the closestcinemafromEccles, alsothe filmsrange seemtobe a 15 butnot yetratedso that is justa
predictionalsothisstoryisa veryinformative storydue to it telling me about the films that feature
this month it is good to know about those things because I am a media student and it would be
relevant for me to watch films, also it is a voxpop which gives a range of opinions this is good
because it isn’t just information coming from the reader but the audience and fans of the films, it
also refers back to the target audience because most of the people giving opinions are college
studentsoverthanthe odd one whoisn’t a student. It seems as though I learned from my mistakes
by making the audio a lot louder because it then it also easy to hear which is very good for the
audience if theyreallywanttoknow, nextisthe editingthiswasa quickprocessbecause of I already
knew what I was going to do, firstly I placed the story in giving them a fade to drop to the voxpop,
thisthenleadto the voxpopand fitted it all together and ended up, increasing the volume level to
be able to hearit better. The bad pointsabout the story is that the presenter seems to be calm one
minute then changes to be in a sense of rush making it confusing to understand but the words still
come across being able to understand the story being said.
Furthermore we reachthe endof the review andIwill finally access the programme, which was put
together in a group of three of; Alex Nesbit (Me), Daniel Harrison and Justin Fox-Rothwell. The
2. person putting it together was Daniel I supplied the stories for entertainment, Daniel with the
political stories and Justin with the sport news bringing in a different range of genres, this would
appeal tothe audience because these are few of the main things that society are focused on in this
generation, Entertainment for those who enjoy a fulfilled life watching film, playing games with
others.Thenpoliticstohave a betterfuture andgetthe voice of the people heard. Finally sport this
wouldmostlybe entertainmentbutpeople would still want to listen to those stories so people can
cheer someone on other than politicians. So coming to the programme it is well structured put
togetherwell byDaniel andall the storiesare easytohearmakingit interestingtolistento. The only
bad things I could identify was there a few interviews that can hear the mic causing it to sound
unprofessional butalsosome of the storiesdon’tsee tobe enthusiastaboutitmakingitseemboring
and not bothered about the story at all.
Overall,Iwould assume that the audience would listen to the radio programme and enjoy most of
the points but they don’t have to listen to all of it just the points that intrigued them due to this it
wouldgive usa range of audience anditwouldbe towards college students but any age also who is
willing to enjoy the stories.
