2. Another part of the distribution of our film is making the public aware
this can be done by also making a magazine cover, for this we chose
Empire as it is a reliable magazine for films and this means that we
have chosen this as it is well published magazine with reliable sources.

4. Main Image
The main image is of the doll with this the audience can clearly see
what the film is about and this means that the audience will be getting
a first look into what the doll looks like and this means that they can
draw up a picture of how they think the doll will act. With this there are
cobwebs around the doll and this shows the doll is really old and makes
the doll seem more eerie for the audience

5. Typeface
The typeface on the magazine is the same as
on the poster meaning the colour and fade is
the same on the magazine and poster
This is good because it appears more hypnotic
which makes it more memorable for the
audience and it means that they will be more
excited about seeing our film as the typeface is
truly original and different.

This is good because it means that the
audience can make the link between products
and know that they are all for the same film
This is bad because with the doll being in a
much darker light the typeface is much harder
to see on the magazine

6. Tagline
The tagline is also in red
This means that it will emphasise
that the Halloween films are
horrors, it is seen in the lower 3rd
this way it is seen clearly separately
to the rest of the text and this
means that the audience can read it
and as it is followed by three
different movies underneath it
means that they know the films
referenced are also horror films and
this will give the audience more
choice and a chance to see our AS
movies from year 12.
The tagline for the magazine reads “Top 10
Halloween Specials”
with this the audience is able to make a link
between the film and the magazine and this
will help to establish to the audience that the
film will be released in October as that is when
Halloween is and establishes the film as a
horror

7. Release Date There is only one release date and this is the release
date for the magazine, with this it also has the price
of the magazine in pounds and dollars and this
means that this magazine is available in other
countries and this means our film will be available in
other countries.
This is good because it makes our film magazine
more authentic and real as this is what Empire do
with their magazines and this means that if our
target audience was to see this they would trust that
it is a real Empire magazine and will want to read
about our film
This is bad because the release date is much smaller
than usual meaning the audience wont be able to see
it and this might make the audience think it is an old
magazine

8. Colours
As well as this the grey to black
background makes the genre of the
film clear to the audience and this
means that they can easily identify
the film as a horror.
With this the colour of the text is
red and white this shows the
innocence of the couple and the
evil of the doll.
But because the couple aren’t seen
on the poster the audience isn’t
able to make that link
With this there is an ominous
background it fades from grey to
black and this shows that the doll is
very mysterious and this shows
there is a darker side to the doll
than the characters think.
This is good because it clearly shows
what the doll may act like and show
that the doll is of an evil persona
This is bad because the grey
background makes it difficult to see
the cobwebs at the bottom of the
magazine so not everything on the
magazine is as clear as we hoped

The main image is placed in the centre of the magazine, with
this it is facing to the left and this means that they are facing
away from the cobwebs and this means that the doll is making
its way to a new victim as it is going away from the cobwebs.
The barcode is in the bottom eft and this is so that the
audience can clearly see the doll in full detail.
The tagine is in the bottom 3rd and this is so that the audience
can clearly read it as it won’t be too small or too big that they
can’t see the rest of the magazine and with this there are 3
photos placed side by side and with this the audience can see
the films referenced underneath along with the names of these
films and this means that the audience will be able to see the
films and be familiar with our work and feel more excited
about seeing our latest film
The name of the film is in the centre of the poster this means
that the audience can clearly see what the name of the film is
and with the fade makes the film more hypnotic and this will
draw the audience into the film and make them want to watch.

10. There are subheadings on both sides of the doll this gives
information inside about the film being promoted on the
magazine and gives information about other films, such as our
cast and crew being “On tour with the cast of The Conjuring”
this would make the audience think our film is of the same
calibre and worth watching.
The magazine company is in the top 3rd of the magazine much
like other Empire magazines, with this the colour of the logo is
the same as the headings this shows continuity and that the
title won’t be too bright and distance the audience from the
articles.
The date and price is at the top of the magazine within the M
in Empire like their other magazines and this means that the
audience can clearly see when this was released and the price
and with this as it is within the M this makes it a real
publication as other Empire magazines follow this rule.
As well as this there is a 5 star rating from The Telegraph this
tells the audience how good our film is to a critic, this is good
because The Telegraph is a reliable source of information and
this means that if the audience were to see this then they
would want to see the film more
