Filming production
1. Filming production
During our filming we all had our own jobs that we did during the filming of our music video
Daniel Harrison – My job throughout the filming was that I played the part of the main actor on
video this was because I was the most confident and less embarrasses to be on front of the camera. I
also I have done a lot of shots behind the camera as well by taking clips of the surrounding area
which will be placed between the main shots . Most of these shots will have been extreme close up
shots and mid shots. Also being one of the most organised in the group I was the person who made
sure that we had all of the equipment needed for our shoot to work. I also made a few ideas that I
made the music video improve from the story board
Daniel Hopkins- His job was to be the director of the production of our music video. It was his job to
prepare everybody that was going to be required in the music video and make sure that they show
up on the day of the shooting. He also needed to make sure that the location of the filming was
suitable for our video. Also he did some of the filming of the music video. He also was part of the
video as an actor. Another one of Daniels job was to make sure that the music video filming turned
out the best it can this entailed him to make a few changes to the story board and script which we all
decide as a group deception.
Ryan Sharman- Ryan job in the music video was to do the main part of the filming this made him be
behind the camera during most of the filming production. He also was the person who came up with
the main concept of our music video that we have made a few changes to improve it. He also played
a small acting part of the video near the end.
Lewis Dunn – Lewis job on the music video filming was to be one of the camera men that we needed
to film the music video. He was also one of the actors needed for the final scene of the music video.
He had also come up with a few good ideas that had been used for the video to improve it from the
script.
We also had several more actors in the video .
Equipment
The camera that we used during the music video filming was the Cannon 700D camera this is the
best camera that is in college. So by using this one it makes the footage that we got looks really good
quality. We also took a tri pod out with us .
Problems
We did have a few problems when filming the music video we had encountered a few problems.
One of which being the area was very muddy since there was a lot of rainfall when filming the video.
This started to become a slight problem because it made some of the areas that we were planning to
be filmed impossible to go on because of the mud. We worked around the problem by filming in
areas that there was minimal mud. Also with the as with any place that can be filmed there is a
chance that the equipment that we took could get lost or stolen luckily when we was filming we did
not encounter any problems with the equipment.
Shoot Day 1
2. one the first day of shooting is the day when we came with the most issues during the shoot . The
day before we have had a lot of heavy rain so the terrain which we was filming on was very muddy
and wet . Because of this we found it hard to uses some of the spots which we really wanted to use
in the video other than that we did not have any other problems . During the first shoot we did the
walking through the forest scenes this took about one and a half to do this day of filming . We did
not need any other actors or props that we needed on this day .
Shoot Day 2
On the second day of filming we did encounter the same problems with the mud but we still did the
filming no matter how muddy it was . During this day we filmed the scenes which I was running
through the forest and the trip scene this took about a hour worth of filming. There was one major
problem with the filming because of the mud it was very slippy so when running there was one main
part where I nearly slipped multiple times .I was the only actor that was needed I also made sure
that I wore the exact same clothing that I wore on the first day.
Shoot Day 3
One this day the rain started to clear up a little bit so it was less muddy that day so it was a bit easier
to film . During this day we filmed the parts which I would need to see the symbols . So we needed
to bring a pen to draw a symbol of two triangles at first we was going to uses paper and just stick it
on the tree with blue tack but then it looked odd so we changed it .During this day of shooting we
came up with a good idea of having a symbol floating in the water I think that this was one of the
best shots in are whole video .During this time we also got filming of the surrounding area .
Shoot Day 4
During the fourth day we continued doing the same shots that we did on the previous day of filming
. We did not really encounter any problems on this day .
Shooting Day 5
on the next day all we did was walk to the motorway so we could get to film the cars driving past for
the first shot of the video . We did not have Ryan for this day because he was on a trip but we only
needed around 10 minutes to do these shots.
Shooting Day 6
on the sixth day Ryan was back so we did the party scene that we was doing for the end of the video
. For this scene we needed more actors than just me so we had Ryan and Lewis as actors . As well as
four people from my class who was willing to help out Reece Emily Shoran and Sarah. The only major
problem that we had during this day is we was having people who did not know what we was doing
3. for our video and trying to tell them what to do and how to do it . There was still a lot of mud as well
so that was a bit of a problem to.
Shooting Day 7
On this day we was making sure that we finished all the scenes up to date because I was about to cut
my hair for the next shot so we would not be able to go back to it . During this we did one or two
reshoots as well as a ditch jumping shot but that shot did not turn out how we may of expected so I
decided not to use it . One more thing that we wanted to do throughout the shooting is get video of
the wild life but because of the season which we was filming and the weather it was hard to get
good shots of animals. Another problem is that the lighting was way off compared to the rest of the
days of filming so we have had a lot of problems when editing .
Shooting Day 8
This was the final day of shooting and the final scene we was doing was the flashback scene . we was
originally going to have someone who is younger who looks like they could look like me to play this
role but we was unable to do that because we could not find anyone to look like me .So our plan B
was to have me cut my hair so that I look a little younger so instead of a 10 year flash back it would
of been a few months ago. We also needed someone to play the role as a bully for the video so that
role went to Daniel Hopkins . We also wanted this scene to be within a park but we was unable to
find one in the area so we decide to use a outside gym .
overall we did a very good job when filming our music video filming we have got a lot of good quality
footage that have been used for the music video . We was well organised so when we was making
the video we know what we was going to be doing.
