• The questionnaire was created online using Survey
Monkey.
• It contained general information on target the
audience, horror films, and films in general.
• The output was distributed to a Facebook group,
asking for those over 16 years to complete it if they
had an interest in horror movies.
• At least 20 to 40 full responses were given.

3. WHAT AGE BRACKET DO YOU FIT IN TO?
Most of the responses in this
section indicate that most of
the respondents are 16-18
years of age.
This will help to decide the
age of the target audience.
It also shows that the more
younger you are, the more
likely you are to enjoy
watching a horror film.

This may be due to the
fact that females
normally will play the
lead role in a horror film
and that the target
audience who watch

This helps in deciding the

mostly enjoy horror films with
only a select few not enjoying
them that much.
This helps to prove that the
genre of horror is popular type
of film to watch. With over
20%/most respondents putting
down “10” as an answer, it goes
to show that the promotional
package will be highly
attractable for the young
audiences of today.

• For this question, respondents had to write an
explanation to answer this. Out of the 40 responses
given, these are few of the top examples.
This shows that the respondents have an interest in what the
subjects are being addressed in horror films and the
unrealistic fantasies that have been created in order to
make the particular film effective for its audience.

• For this question, respondents had to write an
explanation to answer this. Out of the 40 responses
given, these are few of the many examples. This is a
personal question and gave us an insight of the
respondents’ interest in the horror film genre.

9. HOW OFTEN DO YOU WATCH HORROR FILMS?
For this question, the
response was very mixed,
with the most selected
answer indicating that
horror films are watched
only sometimes.
This shows that participants
don’t generally watch
horror films all the time,
although as stated in
previous answers, do enjoy
them.

10. WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING INFLUENCES YOU
WHEN DECIDING ON A FILM TO WATCH?
This question has been very
successful as all of the
respondents have put “Film
Trailer” to answer this
question.
It goes to show that film
trailers are certainly the most
dominant and relied on
pieces of promotion for when
it comes the advertisement
of a film. This indicates that
audiences are more likely to
be attracted to a trailer than
the other options and
therefore more effort must be
put into the trailer to ensure
the right target audience is
attracted.

11. CONCLUSION
• The questionnaire has been a successful attempt in
order to engage fans of the genre of horror.
• Various pieces of useful data that has been
collected from the results have now been analysed
in order to help with the construction of the target
audience profile and also narrative ideas for the
plot and character structuring of the film that is
going to be eventually promoted here.
