RECONNAISSANCE

2. LOCATION
Locations in supernatural
horror films are normally
based around isolated
settings, where immediate
escape from the paranormal
threat is not exactly possible.
Other places will include old
houses where spirits of the
deceased run amok among
the characters. These settings
will be dark and cold, having
little lighting and creating a
chilling and insulated feel
upon those who enter them.

3. LOCATION: FILM EXAMPLE
Lucio Fulci’s The Beyond uses a run-down hotel in a suburb as
the prime setting for the film. The story surrounding the
location is that the hotel was built upon a gateway to hell and
that due to this, paranormal activity is an occurrence here.

4. The setting for my
supernatural horror film
that I will be creating a
promotional package for,
will be set around a
school.
I have chosen the Douay
Martyrs school as the
chosen location. This is
because the school has
many dark locations that
are beneficial for the
trailer and imagery for the
film magazine front cover
and film poster.
RECONNAISSANCE

5. RECONNAISSANCE
This is a practice edit of one of
the shots taken, using the image
editing software, Adobe
Photoshop. I have created
readjusted the lighting and added
effects to create a chilling (and also
promotional) image of the film.
