A Critique of the Proposed National Education Policy Reform
Questionnaire Analysis
1. Questionnaire Analysis
In question one I found that most people who answered my questionnaire were
between 15 to24 years old. My results showed that 45% said they were between the
ages of 15 to 18 years old and 25% said they were between the ages of 19 to24 years
old, leaving 15% being between 25 to 30 years old, 5% being between 31 to44 years
old and 10% being 45 years or above. This means that I will use the ages of 15 years
old to 24 years old to be my audience age range. These results show that country
music appeals to the younger generation as well as the older more experienced
generation.
This bar chart shows that most people who answered my questionnaire listen to
music daily. This means that my magazine needs to be up-to-date with the songs that
are popular with country music and which artists are best to be on the cover of my
magazine. This response shows that the target audience confirms my belief that they
are passionate about country music.
For question three I asked my audience if they listen to country music and all twenty
responders answered yes.
In question four of my country music questionnaire, I asked my respondents what
first attracts them to a magazine front cover. I received a range of responses, but I
found that 55% said it was the image of the artists or band that features in the
magazine. This has helped inspire me to create a great unique image that will attract
the audience of my magazine as it will feature on my front cover along with the
double page spread which will be another key part of my magazine.
In question five I asked if my responders if they read music magazines and 70% said
yes where 30% said no. I then asked the 30% that said no to reading music
magazines why they don’t. I received three different responses where 50% of those
who said no also said it was because they don’t read magazines and 50% said it was

2. because they had no time to read a magazine because they were toobusy. The 30%
that said they don't read music magazines will be able to access the magazine articles
on the website that the magazine has, this means that the magazine will have a
printed magazine copy as well as a webpage in order to reach the target audience's
needs daily as well as producing a magazine monthly.
This pie chart shows that most people want to see interviews with artists, gossip
columns and reviews on the latest songs and albums. By receiving this data I will use
an interview with my cover artist on my double page spread and will also place a sell-
line about reviews on my front cover. This will appeal to my target audience because
they provided me with this data from my country music questionnaire. From this the
majority of the articles will be based on reviews of country artists' tours and their
songs as well as interviews with some country singers.
In question seven I asked which magazine front cover they liked best, 60% of my
responders said Oklahoma magazine front cover was the magazine front cover that
they liked the best. From my results on this question I will use Oklahoma magazine’s
front covers to help inspire my own magazine front cover. Meaning that the main
focus will be of the artist will a few sell-lines on the sides of the front cover. When I
asked them why they thought it was the best 75% said that the layout was what made
it the best because they were able to see the artist on the cover and know what is
inside the magazine without any difficulty.
When I asked when my responders would like to receive their issue of a music
magazine 85% said that they would prefer to receive the magazine monthly rather
than weekly, leaving 15% who want to receive the magazine weekly. Therefore I will
create my magazine to be distributed monthly making twelve issues each year. This
means that when I’m creating my magazine for each month it should have the most
recent news and feature the newest country stars, this is to make it stand out against
other magazines that are distributed weekly.

10. Would you say that music is an important
featurein your life? Why?
When I asked how much money my target audience are willing to spend on a
magazine I received a split response where 50% of my responders chose £1-£2.50
and 50% chose £2.50-£3.50. From the response I got from my questionnaire, I have
decided to make my magazine cost £3.50, pleasing my target audience.
This data is out of 20 people to form 100%. I can see that most people enjoy listening
to music as it received 50% of the peoples’ votes. Then it was people saying that
music is relaxing with 20% and it makes them happy when they’re sad (emotion)
with 15%. This means that most people reading my magazine will want to enjoy the
articles and find something that they can relate to. I will have articles about some of
the artists’ stories before they became famous and how they became famous and how
they found about the journey to fame.
The last question I asked in my questionnaire was if they use social media such as
Facebook and I received 90% of the responses to be yes that they do and only 10%
saying that they don’t. I then went on to ask how music magazines can compete with
social media. I received the following results
Yes – 18 people
11% said that magazines should use media to promote the magazine
6% said that magazines should have competitions inside
17% said that the magazine should be unique
66% said that they were unsure of how magazines could compete with social media
No – 2 people both said they were unsure of how magazines can compete with media.
