This is the first question on
my Music Magazine
Audience Research that I
have created on Survey
Monkey. This question helps
me to identify how old the
people are that I am asking,
with the majority of them
being 15 to 19 years old and
this is a very appropriate
age for an R&B music
magazine.
The second question on my survey
asked ‘Are You Male Or Female?’
and most of the people I asked
were male with the percentage
being 72.3 and for female it was
only 27.27%. This tells me that I
should design my magazine that
will mostly attract the male gender
but I should still include female
related R&B artists.
This is the third question in my
survey that asked ‘What Is Your
Favourite Music Genre?’ and by
looking at the results I found out
that half of the people that I asked
liked Hip-Hop music more than
either R&B and Rock music. This is
very difficult for me because I
originally wanted to base the
magazine on the R&B music genre
but then I thought that Hip-Hop
and R&B music are nearly the same
so I will try to include some Hip-
Hop content in the magazine.
This question will help to identify
how much money people will spend
on a music magazine. I asked this
question so that I am able to think
of a price that will be affordable and
at the same time appropriate for
the type of magazine, so by the
results I will range the price of it
from £2 to £3 as it was what most
people answered.
I then asked people what they
think of ‘FLOW’ being the name
of my music magazine and
54.55% answered that it was
‘Alright’ with 45.45% also
answering that it ‘Suits The
Genre’ this I very god for me
because it tells me that I don’t
need to change the name which
none of them answered.
The sixth question on this
survey asked ‘Does The
Colour Scheme Of A
Magazine Matter?’ and
nearly everyone that I asked
answered to ‘Yes’ (90.91%).
This indicates that I should
really think carefully about
the colours that will be
presented on my front cover,
contents page and DPS.
After that, the next question was
‘How Often Do You Read Magazines?’
and the results were that three
people read magazines once a week,
three people said that they never
read them and only one person said
that they read magazines every day.
By asking this question it will help me
to determine when my magazine
should be released but I couldn’t
decide because of the results so I
settled for once a month.
The final question on my survey
was ‘What Makes You Want To
Read A Magazine?’ and the
majority of the people that I
asked said that the person
being presented on the front
cover makes them read
magazines. By looking at the
results, this tells me that I
should really focus on how I will
be portraying my main model.

Music Magazine Audience Research

  • 5. I then asked people what they think of ‘FLOW’ being the name of my music magazine and 54.55% answered that it was ‘Alright’ with 45.45% also answering that it ‘Suits The Genre’ this I very god for me because it tells me that I don’t need to change the name which none of them answered.
  • 6. The sixth question on this survey asked ‘Does The Colour Scheme Of A Magazine Matter?’ and nearly everyone that I asked answered to ‘Yes’ (90.91%). This indicates that I should really think carefully about the colours that will be presented on my front cover, contents page and DPS.
  • 7. After that, the next question was ‘How Often Do You Read Magazines?’ and the results were that three people read magazines once a week, three people said that they never read them and only one person said that they read magazines every day. By asking this question it will help me to determine when my magazine should be released but I couldn’t decide because of the results so I settled for once a month.
  • 8. The final question on my survey was ‘What Makes You Want To Read A Magazine?’ and the majority of the people that I asked said that the person being presented on the front cover makes them read magazines. By looking at the results, this tells me that I should really focus on how I will be portraying my main model.
