2. During the construction of the product the technologies I have learnt are;

These technologies helped me to create my opening sequence; using Serif MoviePlus helped me to edit the videos and
created my final sequence. It also helped me to edit in the different sounds, I learnt how to fade the sound in and out,
to make the product more professional. I also learnt how to crop and add effects to the videos, like the black and
white colour effect to represent a flashback. Using the cut tool helped to cut out unwanted parts of the scene so that I
didn’t have to re-film it. It is also another way to make the product look professional. Serif MoviePlus also enabled me
to learn how to cut down and trim the shots using the cut and trim tools; it also taught me to use the effect tool to add
different colours to the shots, to show that the scene is a flashback. I also used the text tool to add the different titles
to my video, such as ‘edited by’ using the text tool allowed me to edit the titles font, colour and size, I could also add
transitions to the text. In my sequence I created the sense of horror and confusion by using the software to make it
look like the girl is having flashbacks and loss of memory, the software helped me do this because it meant that I was
able to change the colour of shot to black and white to make the flashbacks more obvious. Along with my sequence
the title ‘traumatised’ creates questions as to what happened before she got locked in a shed and what will happen
next? My production logo also created the sense of horror as I have used things which link to the genre; these are
things such as the blood red writing and the roses.

3. Whilst using Fireworks I was able to create my opening title and my
production logo and whilst doing this I learnt the different ways you create
different effects on my work to make it suit the genre more. I learnt how to
use the import image tool to import an image onto my logo; I also used the
cut tool to cut the image down to the right size. I used the text tool in order
to write the name of the production logo and the name of the title. The
different tools I used on Fireworks are cropping images to fit the screen. I
also used the shadow effect to create a red shadow back drop to the words to
make the words fit the genre more, instead of the words looking plain and
boring.

4. Slideshare helped me to upload my work into a different format so that it
could be embeded onto my Weebly page. This brings me on to what using
Weebly had taught me, it taught me the different ways to present my work,
including documents, PowerPoints and embed codes. Weebly has allowed me
to display my work simpler and also make it look more professional.

5. The camera I used was a Sony Handicam, 9.2 mega pixels, this camera lets you
take photos and videos and allows me to watch back what I have recorded to
see if the quality and angle is ok, this means that if I don’t like what I have
recorded can delete it and then re-record it if I have too. Using the camera has
allowed me to record my video; it allowed me to use the zoom feature on the
camera. This made it easier to do close up shots and to do zooming effects on
my video. The camera quality wasn’t as professional as it could have been;
however, it was the best equipment available at such short notice.

6. Google forms allowed me to create question and customisable responses in
questionnaires which helped with my target audience research and audience
feedback. While this is a free and accessible product it is still used at a
professional level, therefore making my product look more professional and
realistic. Google Forms has helped because the survey allowed me to see what
the target audience liked in horror films and then allowed me to change and
develop things already in my product to suit their likes and dislikes. Google
Forms allowed me to get as many responses as possible and this meant more
people had the chance to answer. It was also easier to separate the results into
who liked what and what types of people are in those groups. Furthermore, it
displayed the results in a graph; this made it easier to analysis.

7. Learning these technologies made my opening sequence more professional
and using the software improved my work because without having the
software there to edit the videos and crop or add effects the sequence
wouldn’t make sense and it wouldn’t look like the start of a film because it
would be messy, parts would have background noise or things going wrong
due to not being able to crop them out. So, the software has helped improve
my sequence.
