Preliminary Task Evaluation
By doing this preliminary task I have learnt how to effectively plan
for the production of a video; I have learnt that whilst storyboarding
one must include in the description the sound effects that need to be
used (both diegetic and non-diegetic), How to write a script in the
correct way and how to convert ideas and imagination into a film.
Throughout the filming process, I learned the importance of the
tripod in that the camera must be kept steady in order to make the
film look realistic. I have also learnt many new skills, such as various
editing techniques, for example:
Cutaway and insert
Cutaway and insert particularly helped our sequence to be more
effective because it manipulated the audience into thinking that it
was the same clip when really it was two clips merged together.
I could have improved my preliminary task by adding some atmos
sound to the background as it does sound as though something is
missing whilst watching the sequence. In addition maybe some music
could build tension so the audience is compelled to empathise more
with the main character as breaking up with a boyfriend can/should
be an emotional thing.
