QUESTION 3:
What kind of media institution might
distribute your media product and why?
In my magazine proposal, I wanted Bauer publications to
distribute my magazine AfroVibe because from the early
years they have been able to expand the business
successfully in publishing over 600 magazines, over 400
digital products and 50 radio and TV stations around the
world.
WHY I CHOSE BAUER MEDIA.
Reason why I chose Bauer because they have different magazines which
means they have different audiences like Kerrang, Heat, Match, Mojo and
Closer but has never published an Afrobeat & Grime magazine or has my target
audience of young people, so making Bauer the distribute of my media
product gives us both the benefits of my magazine being successful with their
Sale or Return model and them having experience with my target audiences
and genre.
BENEFITS.
Bauer can offer a lot to my magazine because they’re also on many platforms
which can help me to be launched onto social media and their own website,
which helps the younger audience to access it and appeal more to them since
they’re mostly on the social media. I’ve also realised because there is no
other magazine with my genre, there is no competition and it would be easy
for Bauer to only focus on AfroVibe for it to be the first successful magazine
with that genre.
