WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT AND WHY

This is the media institution I think will distribute my magazine
What are they
Why chose them?
What are they offering?
Who are they?
 Bauer Media is a group of the Bauer Media Group, Europe’s
largest privately owned publishing Group. The Group is a
worldwide media empire offering over 300 magazines in 15
countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations. Their
magazine stretches back to 1953 with the launch of Angling
Times and the acquisition in 1956 of Motor Cycle News, which
are both still iconic brands. Bauer Media is a multi-platform
UK-based media Group consisting of many companies
collected around two main divisions – Magazines and Radio -
widely recognised.
Why choose them?
 The reason I want to publish with Bauer and distribute
soundwave magazine, firstly they have built the company on
media brands with millions of personal relationships with
engaged readers and listeners. Secondly, connect audiences
with excellent content through their platforms, wherever,
whenever and however they want. Furthermore due to their
wide distribution of many magazine and their popularity I
think they will be able to sell my magazine to the audience
that I want in a professional manner, in addition as they
produce many RnB type magazines they have the knowledge
to make my magazine stand out.
Distribution
 Soundwave has a very different target audience, where we
want t reach teenagers who are slowly moving onto their
adulthood life, I do not think there is a magazine that stays
with you through this transition to adults life and I want
soundwave to be that magazine.
 If soundwave were to published my Bauer they would be able
to reach a target loyal target audience as this magazine will
stay with them from their young life to their older life
Apps and social media
 As Bauer produce apps for the magazine I think that this will
help with readership as teenagers – adults don’t want to be
v=carrying a magazine around all the time, having this app
will allow for the magazine to be accessed anywhere wherever
you are, this also means that less magazines will need to be
produced reducing the amount of deforestation.
 Social media, will allow for the magazine to release updated
and early information for our readers this will allow young
readers to stay in through and even send in questions for the
magazine which can be answered in the ‘ questions’ section
for the magazine allowing readers to truly engage with the
magazine and company itself
Sale and return methods
 For sale and return methods I know Bauer can provide me with a very
good methods of making the most out of the published magazines.
 When my magazine is sent to a store for example 100 are sent to Tesco if
only 75 are sold the remaining magazines will be sent back to Soundwave
HQ so that we can recycle the paper and therefore save money on printing
costs. And on the amount of paper we use, leading to an environmentally
friendly magazine
