3. My digipak was created when I first started the course, when I had a
different idea and vison for my music video. I originally had the idea to do a
dance themed video, therefore planned everything around that thought of
dance. So during this time we went on a photoshoot in my costume to take
the magazine and digipak images, once done I went onto creating them.
However as time went on my idea had changed and dance was no longer
part of my project, even though the images don’t specifically show and tell
the audience that it’s a dance themed music video you still get the
impression that its not like a typical pop music video.
Even though the digipak and my music video don’t connect throught the
pictures it still relatable as the images are very glam and pretty and the shots
in the music video are them same.
4. However when you compare my magazine cover to my digipak you can tell
more so than the other that this magazine is for my music video as these
pictures are screen grabs of footage from the music video itself. When
reading through or watching my video you see that I documented how I
loved the idea of layering images, so I thought that as a collage I would
layer images from my new footage as 1 its only shown for a short while as
its new footage for after the bridge and 2 they are clear and sharp shots
that looked well layered on top of one another.
As I didn't use the same images from my digipak I had to add the cover
image to the magazine cover, before creating this I thought it would ruin
the look as I knew the images are completely different however they work
really well and by having my magazine in black and white the red glowing
cover shot glows in the bottom corner drawing the attention of the
audience.
