Attracting and Addressing Our
Audience
Anarchy Title Sequence
Do You Think You Reached Your Target
Audience?
• I believe our product reached our target
audience of 15-40 year olds. We did this by
creating an eerie atmosphere and suspense
throughout our sequence by using effects,
costumes and soundtrack. All of these things
would attract young people and middle aged
adults who are interested in action thrillers.
What Did You Include When Planning Your
Production That You Thought Would Appeal To
Your Audience?
• When planning our production we thought what
Micro-features would be effective on which we could
concentrate most on when appealing our audience.
• We used the iconography of the baseball bat to allude
to violence in our film
• Also we found that sound would be vital into attracting
our audience as they create mood. We found a
provoking soundtrack which aided us in creating an
eerie atmosphere which would appeal to our audience.
Audience Feedback (Possitive)
• On our Feedback sheets we had three sections: Elements
that Work Well; (Green), Things that need developing
(Amber) and Things that don’t work (Red).
• In the green section a reoccurring comment was “Music fits
genre” and “Editing”. The fact that the audience recognizes
that the soundtrack and speed/quality of editing are
aligned and fit the genre proves that we attracted the
audience using the conventions of action thrillers.
• Also “Costumes and Props” cropped up 4 times on our
feedback sheets under the ‘elements that work well
section’. This shows that the costumes and props we used
appealed to the audience as it aligned with teenager
stereotypes.
Audience Feedback (Negative)
• One of the reoccurring negative feedbacks we kept
getting under the amber section was “Too much
effects” in our rough-cut. I was aware of this when
watching it back myself on the big screen so it was just
a lack of judgment on my behalf from the change to
the Mac Screen to a projector.
• Another negative feedback was that we needed more
people in our running scene in order to portray the real
impact of the dilemma on the public. However, as we
shot up London in it was hard to get a big group of
people up there in their own time.
How Could Your Work Be Improved?
• Our sequence could be improved if we
changed the setting of the running scene to
one where it would be easier to get loads of
people running instead of three.
• Also we could have perhaps filmed some more
footage to help portray the whole narrative
completely and bring our time up to 2
minutes.
