Research Paper On Paul s Thorn
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon
me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in
distresses for Christ s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9,10 The
word thorn speaks volumes on its own, we can relate immediately to thoughts of sufferings, pain,
trouble, humiliation and physical ailments. Paul s thorn remains vague and cryptic, so that all
of us with a thorn may readily relate and hopefully apply the spiritual lessons in this passage of
scripture, into our own lives. Some say Paul s thorn had to do with his eye condition, possibly
from the light that shown on him when he was traveling to Damascus, I m not so sure (we will go
into that another day), others say Paul s thorn is attributed to the origin of demonic activity
permitted by God, still others believe Paul s thorn was given to him to keep him from becoming
proud over revelations he had received from God.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So what is and how can God s Grace work in our lives to help us live with our own thorns? Our first
thoughts of grace may be poise, finesse, beauty and agility. Still, God s Grace is sufficient, it is
adequate for the purpose and it is enough for us. Grace is God s presence, God s favor and God s
power. It is a force, a heavenly strength given to those of us who will call upon God. This grace
will rest on faithful believers who accept their weaknesses, sicknesses and difficulties for the
Gospels sake. See Philippians

Research Paper On Job Stress
There are almost three billion people in this world who are employed on different positions in
different organizations of the world. Their working conditions like environment, work load,
interconnectivity with coworkers etc are different but these employees faces one common issue
during their jobs that is Job Stress. Job Stress is perceived as a negative terminology which mostly
employees all around the world tend to avoid. Stress is one of the burning issues that
organizations have to deal so that employees can comfortably produce quality work. Stress causes
an imbalance in one s life because it leads to depression and thus damages health, attitude and
work behavior. Causes of stress are called stressors, which can be workplace conflict, role conflict,
role ambiguity and workload. In my research the main focus is on work load and interconnectivity
with coworkers. Stress has been defined in different ways over the years. Originally, it was
conceived as pressure from the environment, then as strain within the person. The generally
accepted definition today is one of the interactions between the situation and the individual. It is the

It is not always true that job stress always have a negative effect on employees job performance.
Some employees find job stress as their motivators. They think that it is according to their
personality and during their career they will learn a lot from their jobs.
The proposal of this research is that we should understand the differences that under what
circumstances the employees tend to be positively affected by the job stress and also understand
the factors that impose negative effect on the job performance of the employees. After
understanding these differences the managers will be able to provide such conditions to their
employees in which the productivity of the employees will be greater while working under job

Analysis Of Argument Against Headphones By Virginia Heffernan
Analysis of Argument Against Headphones A century has passed since the creation of headphones,
yet they have only recently come under fire. Headphones provide a way for people to listen to
music, audiobooks, and podcasts privately without disrupting others around them. However, all of
this private listening may soon fall on deaf ears. In Virginia Heffernan s article Against Headphones
, she presents an argument stating that although headphones are useful in some professions, they
cause substantial hearingloss, especially in young people. The formulated argument is effective and
valid, and incorporates ethos, logos, and opposing viewpoints with rebuttals.
Ethos
Heffernan establishes her credibility as an author by quoting and ... Show more content on

Heffernan also illustrates how headphones work, stating, when an audio current passes through the
device s voice coil, it creates an alternating magnetic field that moves a stiff, light diaphragm
(Heffernan, 2011). Describing the history of headphones and how the technology works portrays
Heffernan as a reasonable author with a deep understanding of her subject matter, which earns the
trust and respect of the audience.
Logos
Incorporating logical appeals into her writing allows Heffernan to reach a larger audience by
providing factual support as backing for the argument. The author writes, the number of teenagers
with hearing loss... has jumped 33 percent since 1994 (Heffernan, 2011). By using a statistic as a
logical premise in support of prohibiting headphones, the author sheds light on the harsh reality of
headphone use: more young people experience hearing loss. When discussing the history of
headphones, the author states, workers and soldiers have long used [headphones] to mute out the
din of machinery or artillery while receiving one way orders from someone with a microphone
(Heffernan, 2011). Heffernan recognizes a factual use of headphones while at the same time
acknowledging that headphones are useful in some instances, which helps to strengthen her
argument. Heffernan then goes on to say, headphone users who listen to

INTRODUCTION OF LAN
LAN known as a local area network is a computer network that connected computer within a
small area such as a school, collages, a hospitals and an office building using network media. In
contrast to wide area network (WAN) this covers the huge area. In LAN, there is a main computer
called server and distance computers called clients. With the help of LAN users can access internet,
can exchange file with connected users, and also can communication between users via electronic
mails and others applications.
MANAGEMENT OF ACCESS TO A LAN
The resources on a local area computer network needs to be managed for their efficient use and
maintenance. They include local computers, printers, telephones, routers/internet access etc. To
manage this resource a system administrator/Network administrator can use multiple management
software like active directory authentications, User and group policies, physically restricted access

The Impact Of Emperor Titus On The Roman Empire
Throughout the period of Roman emperors, there were many good emperors who brought wealth
and prosperity, but there were bad emperors who brought terror and poverty. Emperor Titus
Augustus was one of the emperors who brought wealth and prosperity. He had one of the most
popular rules, even though he only ruled for about 3 years. He was, also, nicknamed the darling of
the human race by Suetonius (The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica). Although Emperor Titushad
a short rule, he brought wealth and prosperity, thus making his rule have a positive impact on the
Roman Empire.
To begin, Titus was born in 39 A.D. His father, Vespasian
, was a high ranking military official at the
time. Titus early life consisted of serving in his father s legion. After the evil emperor Nero died,
Vespasian was anointed emperor of Rome. Vespasian then gave Titus charge of the Jewish war
and his legion. Titus successfully captured and destroyed Jerusalem in September of A.D. 70. To
commemorate Titus glorious victory, an arch was built, which is now known as the Arch of Titus.
After that victory, Titus was made Praetorian Guard by his father and they became close in ranks,
but Vespasian avoided putting Titus on an equal rank as him. From then until the end of Vespasian
s reign, they worked closely and peacefully. The early life of Titus included serving and
commanding under his father s legions and serving as a Praetorian Guard.
Then, when Vespasian died on June 23rd, 79 A.D. Titus immediately

Violence In A Tale Of Two Cities
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is about a time where the citizens of both France and
England are falling to oppression and violence by the government. With corrupted politicians
taking place; is making the citizens live their lives ruled by twisted people. One of the big
themes in A Tale of Two Cities is oppression and violence, which is making life difficult for those
who are innocent and want to live their life without pain as the corrupt government ends up
making everyone feel suffering. Politics is a main contributor to oppression and violence as they
tend to care more about themselves. The politicians are pleasing those who are in a high social
class than those who are in a lower social class such as the poor. In George Orwell s... Show more

injustice occurs when the government removes the civil rights of their citizens, they heavily
survey their actions and any thought of rebellion can lead to arrest. The Party the name of the new

their people in a inhumane and uncivil as all the rights of the people are being taken away; in such
an unjust and violent way, which continues to separate the population and cause more uneasiness

Assignment 1, The Value of Failure in Leadership Trenise S. Palmer Dr. Laura Poluka MGT

without experiencing. The best thing about failure is that failure can be used as a great learning
experience to improve upon things in our lives and career. Using failure as a learning tool is
dependent upon the person and how they view it as well as how they use it. Failure is a matter of
perspective and the lessons in failure are important aspects towards growth and development. If we

Romans Lifestyle
references to both the ancient and modern world.
Leisure is something that most people enjoy. Whether it s going away for a weekend spa break,
taking long walks, or spending a day off fixing an old car, the way we experience leisure varies
from person to person. As Jon Pike points in Chapter 1, some activities may not seem like leisure to
some people. Taking long walks could seem like a way to make yourself exercise more, for
example. But if you go for walks for no other reason than you enjoy it, the activity becomes leisure.
In this essay, I will be looking closely at leisure activities from both the ancient world, and the
modern one, and discussing how social status impacted on the way people experienced leisure. I
will start by discussing leisure amongst the Romans, giving brief examples of what they did for
leisure, then moving on to talk about if, or how, social status amongst them affected their
experience of it. Then, I will move on to discuss leisure in the modern world, again, giving brief
examples of what we do for leisure, then talking about whether or not social status affects how we
experience it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

NOVA clearly confirmed that the goal of the campaign was focused on branding. And there was a
definite boost in mobile Webtraffic during the campaign window. We sense a substantial increase
in local engagement with the brand on mobile platforms (Northern Virginia Community College,
2013).
Strategy Employed to Accomplish Goal The strategy employed by NOVA as a means of
accomplishing these goals incorporated several specific elements. The first was the need to
determine and understand the relevance of mobile phone ownership and utilization within the U.S
and then, extend this to the specific utilization of smartphones which would allow for mobile access
to dynamic Internet content and apps. Smartphone usage across the U.S exceeded 60% utilization
by early 2013 and continues to grow which outlines the potential benefits of targeting such users
across specific marketing campaigns. For the purposes of the NOVA campaign the demographic
of smartphone users was also evaluated in order to determine the number of users in their
targeted age range that would be using such a system. For the courses and services that NOVA
offer, a target demographic of people aged between 18 34 years of age is expected to provide the
largest section of students and this section of the population makes up over 45% of smartphone
users, as the schematic below

Catastrophe Bonds
Catastrophe Bonds
By Kirill Graminschi
The trouble with Catastrophe Bonds
The article presents the difficulties insurance companies face when they are issuing catastrophe
bonds. Do they efficiently hedge against large scale disasters?
It is very difficult hedging against catastrophic losses. Japan s March earthquake, tsunami and
nuclear disaster threat could cost the insurance industry between $21 and $34 billion.
The catastrophe bonds are not helping much the insurance companies, although they were designed
to do so. Catastrophe bonds have limits on type and location of the disaster they will cover. A large
number of catastrophe bonds covered the losses only in Tokyo, although the actual losses occurred
far away from there.
In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Considering all the risk stated above, the insurance companies are still issuing the catastrophe bonds.
In my point of view the issuance of catastrophe bonds by insurers is a successful financial
hedging technique. Even though the investors are having large returns on risk linked securities
and only a small number of them lost their principle, the purpose of these instruments is to
provide coverage for highly improbable risks. The benefit of these bonds is that they allow the
insurance companies to secure a layer of coverage for their worst case scenarios, which may not be
available if traditional reinsurance is used.
Catastrophe bonds help to diversify the protection capacity and supplement traditional reinsurance.
The insurance companies are transferring major risks and thus have more capital to underwrite new
business, therefore using the bonds to diversify their sourcing of reinsurance.
The issuance of risk linked securities is a great strategy in supplementing traditional reinsurance, but
these bonds still need to prove their value in the long run.
In conclusion, I would not agree with Mr. Niklaus Hilti s words: from the perspective of insurers
and reinsurers, traditional reinsurance is clearly the better hedge. The catastrophe bonds are
carefully designed to provide insurers and reinsurers the capital they need for

Electoral Fraud And Electoral Process
Elections put power in the hands of citizens by giving them the ability to choose and replace their
leaders. They are a potent tool for holding leaders accountable and peaceably resolving political
and societal conflict. Because elections determine political winners and losers, however, electoral
processes from voter registration through results reporting have long been targeted for manipulation
by dishonest regimes and political actors, especially in Congo (Brazzaville). Such manipulation or
sometimes the threat of it weakens public confidence in democratic processes, erodes the
legitimacy of governments, and undermines the will of the people. Suspicions of electoral fraud can
catalyze polarization or trigger conflict.
The country of the Congo (Brazzaville) needs to work to build public confidence in elections by
improving the performance and accountability of electoral management bodies, strengthening
meaningful and peaceful political competition, and supporting citizen oversight of electoral
processes. Robust citizen oversight of elections is critical not only because it can help deter and
detect electoral malfeasance, but also because it helps to engage citizens in democratic processes
and build trust in election outcomes.
Background
The potential for fraud overshadows elections around the world, even in long established
democracies. Fair and competitive elections are essential mechanisms for providing public
accountability, transparency, and representation. They

Thankfully, there are programs that are closing the generational gap between farming and our

program creates curriculum to teach agriculture in core subject areas.
In Utah, the program is ran through Utah State University Extension. Project Director, Denise

strikeout candidate, Sosa became an effective hitter for average. He owns numerous team records
for the Cubs, and holds the major league record for the most home runs hit in a month (20, in
June 1998). In recognition of his accomplishments as a hitter, Sosa won Silver Slugger awards (an
award for offensive output voted on by managers and coaches) in 1995 and 1998 2002.[1]
In 2003 the Cubs won the National League Central Division title. The year was not all good news

Reactions And Reactions Of Photosynthesis
Photochemical Reactions of Photosynthesis

Abstract:
In this lab, we experimented with the photochemical reactions of photosynthesis. In the first
experiment, by putting test tubes at different distances from a light source, we tested the effects of
light intensity. In the second experiment, the effects of light wavelengths and pigments were tested
on spinach disks under different colored lights over time to see which light could float the most
disks. In the third experiment, by using photosynthetic pigments, we measured absorbance to see
which wavelengths of light were used for photosynthesis.
Intro:
The purpose of this lab was to identify the requirements and products of the photochemical reactions
of photosynthesis by specifically looking at the effects of light intensity, light wavelength, and the
activity of photosynthetic pigments. Photosynthesis is amongst the most important biochemical
processes on earth because it is how the biosphere gets its chemical energy, which is fixed from
solar energy. Photochemical, or light, reactions are light dependent and instantaneous reactions that
capture energy and split water molecules to release oxygen. They also activate the electron
transport chain. In the first experiment, our hypothesis was that the medium light position, 30 cm
away, would have the greatest absorption because it is not too close or too far from the light source
for absorption. In the second

The Lifestyle Of The Amphibian
The lifestyle of the amphibian is very complex and fragile. Just the mere fact that amphibians are
biphasic causes them to run into a variety of problems. Since they deal with both an aquatic and
terrestrial environment, they tend to run into an increased amount of pollutants and environmental
changes. Pollution both on land and in water can affect water pHand other variables that can be very
harmful to an amphibians survival. Since amphibians can be used basically as biomarkers to the
environment, the study and resolution of this problem can aid in two conservation efforts. Not
only will we be able to increase amphibian populations but we also help make environments less
polluted. Healthy amphibians equal a healthy habitat for all. The reason why amphibians are
considered biomarkers is because they have a rather unique skin. It is thin and permeable
because most all amphibians use their skin for respiration. This also allows the skin to absorb and
excrete water. That means if the water is polluted or contains impurities, the amphibian will
absorb all these changes through their skin. This can make the animal very sick. It s even worse
for the larvae and eggs of the amphibians. Larval and neotenic amphibians are completely aquatic
and have less keratinized skin then most adult amphibians. This makes them more affected by
changes in water composition. Since amphibians don t lay shelled eggs, the embryos are directly
exposed with the water and all its

Social Media As Forms Of Electronic Communication
When my generation was growing up we used to hear things from our parents like you watch too
much television . Today, that could easily translate to sound like the same in regards to the use
of Social Media. Merriam Webster s Dictionary defines social media as forms of electronic
communication through which users create online communities to share information, ideas,
personal messages, and other content (Social Media). Social Media provides great tools and
features for social interaction with others in the form of file sharing including photos, videos,
and real time chat. Some of the most common and popular social sites are FaceBook, Twitter,
YouTube, and Instagram. Social Media sites provide numerous entertainment features, as well
as a plethora of ways for people from all over the world to connect with each other, make new
friends, or connect with old ones. I feel these sites truly share a common goal of uniting,
connecting, and bringing people closer together but, there is a dark side to be noted. Social
Media, if used in moderation, can be a useful tool indeed but, like anything else when used
excessively, it can be dangerous to our mental health and well being. The abuse of Social Media
can have addictive qualities which may adversely affect ones mental health. Regardless of its
effects though, Social Media is still widely used for various purposes in society and is no doubt
here to stay. FaceBook for example, has grown enormously popular in recent years and

The Pros and Cons of Cell Phones Essay
The effects of technology on society will always be a double edged sword. The debate is a never
ending one, in which both sides have valid and compelling arguments. The Industrial Revolution
reduced manual labor in the long run, but had negative consequences such as child labor and
sweatshop conditions. Nuclear Power reduces the cost of producing energy, but raises serious
environmental issues like pollution and radiation. In this day in age refusing to assimilate to at
least some form of modern living is simply not an option. One invention causing controversy
today that has yet to cease being alter, modified, and improved since its debut is the ever present

alone every year. The issue of driving while talking on a cell phone has become serious enough
that five states have passed laws prohibiting this type of act and making it a primary offense to
do so. Not only are drivers talking behind the wheel, but many have admitted to engaging in even
more potentially dangerous behavior with their phones such as text messaging and surfing the
internet. A distracted driver is a dangerous one. If you are focused on a conversation and your
eyes are not on the road, drivers cannot be expected to make a quick and safe decision should
the need for one arise. The behavior of a driver while using a cell phone has been compared to
that of one driving while under the influence. Studies have shown that those who use a cell
phone while driving are four times more likely to be involved in a crash than those who don t.
On the flip side, it is very reassuring to know as you are driving down the highway that if you
were to get a flat tire or your engine were to overheat you could flip open that gadget in the cup
holder next to you and have a plan b on the way. Cell phones have also been used to make calls in
more serious life and death situations where immediate help is needed. Obviously, having a cell
phone in your car within reach is much better when the seconds count than finding the nearest land
line. One of the earliest complaints of cell phones was the disturbances they

My Journey Of My Career Development
Miranda Kilmer Integration Paper My journey to my career development has been a roller
coaster ride to say the least. Everything I ve learned in this class and throughout the years has
shaped me into who I am and has played a major role in my career decision making process. Ever
since I was little I was always interested in acting and had dreamed of being in movies. Many kids
probably had a similar dream, but for some reason I had a strong desire to follow through with it.
Whenever I watched a movie I would always catch myself saying the lines along with the
characters, and changing my voice to fit each role. No one ever really knew that this was
something I was interested in because I never admitted to it. I never told anybody because every
time I would bring it up, everyone seemed to have the same opinion about it. They say that being
an actor is not a reliable career and that being successful in that industry is a long shot. As I got
older I started to agree with them. I pushed aside my dream of becoming an actress and decided
to focus on more reliable career choices like lawyers, teachers, doctors, etc... When I tried to find
interest in these jobs, it always failed. They just didn t fit my personality and after taking this
class I learned why. This class has really helped me develop a sense of myself. I learned a lot
about myself with the help of the self assessment inventories, journal entries, values

Edvard Munch s Separation Annotation
According to edvardmunch.org, Edvard Munch s painting Separation painted in 1896, like his other
paintings, represented German expressionism. Expressionist paintings portray profound mental
torment and have dark, gloomy undertones. The dark nature of his paintings is in part due to the
fact that his father suffered from a mental illness, which profoundly impacted his upbringing.
However, his paintings from about 1892 to 1908 reveal his interest in nature and are brighter than
all of his previous work. Munch expresses the nature of his soul through symbolizing the natural
world rather than just superficially painting what is visible to the eye. His painting Separation is an
epitome of these characteristics in the context of love, showing the... Show more content on

The man stands on dull, dark green land. According to color wheel pro.com, the article Color Wheel
Pro See Color Theory in Action asserts that dark green is associated with ambition. Yet,
according to edvardmunch.org in this painting, the man s ambition is being suppressed because
of the crimson plant which is preventing him from moving forward into the future. The crimson
plant is possibly intended as a mandrake, with its love and death symbolism . Along with the
black clothing, the plant further reinforces the idea that the girl might as well as be dead to him
but at the same time he still cares for her. Assuming that the crimson on his hand and the plant is
blood, the man feels like he has the blood of his lover on his hands. He feels guilty because of his
part in their breakup, which is an emotion other than sorrow which is why the hand clutching his
chest is brighter than his face. Looking behind the man, the brown tree is barren yet bright.
According to incredibleart.org, the article Color Symbolism and Culture says that the color brown
signifies comfort. However, since the tree is barren, the tree does not represent comfort but a lack
thereof. Looking to the right of the girl, the golden path is surrounded by a dark purple shoreline
and purple sky and water. According to incredibleart.org, the article Color Symbolism and Culture

Augusta Ada s Life And Accomplishments
Augusta Ada Byron was born in London on December 10, 1815, and was the daughter of a
famous poet ,named Lord Byron. Her parents did not have a very happy marriage and once Ada
was born, they seperated. A few months after she was born, her dad left to England and never
saw her again. He later then died when Ada was 8. I assume that because her parents seperated at
a young age and Ada was too young to get to know her father, his absensce probably didn t affect
her as much as it would have if she were older when this happened. Because her father wasn t

The Art And Science Of Craft Confectionery By Pat Santucci
The Appealing Simplicity of Craft Confectionery
Ryan Gosling perfectly illustrated the love that people have for candy when he said, I think the
one thing I love most about being an adult is the right to buy candy whenever and wherever I
want ( Ryan Gosling Quotes ). Candy holds a special place in many people s hearts whether it be
caramel, chocolate, or lollipops, and Americans love candy so much that they spend sixteen billion
dollars a year just on chocolate alone (Reilly). In the Pecha Kucha presentation, The Art and
Science of Craft Confectionery , presented by Pat Santucci, he discusses how to create some of
these beloved sweets, while going into detail about the ingredients and equipment necessary for the

Ethos is the appeal to ethics, and it is used in order to persuade the audience of the speaker s
credibility and character. The presentation begins when he is introduced by a female announcer
who says Pat is a qualified confectionery expert . He continues to prove his credibility when he
starts explaining the scientific structure about sugar and how the mixtures of the different types of
sugars make candy work . Despite part of his purpose being to persuade his audience that it is not
difficult to create these confections, he makes sure to acknowledge that not all craft confections
are easy to make, such as chocolate or cotton candy. He explains that these confections requires
specific equipment and more intense processes, but by admitting this difficulty, he gains the
audience s trust by showing that he is honest and will disclose all information he knows even if it
may go against his general statement of persuasion. When he discusses how to make cotton candy,
he uses scientific vocabulary such as centrifugal force when describing the more tedious process,
thus further proving that he knows what he is talking about when it comes to craft confectionery.
Another example of the use of scientific vocabulary is when the speaker discusses how caramel is
made through a process called

Summary Of Sudden Shortage Of People
People Gone Missing
I pick up my daily newspaper from the mail, and begin reading. It s titled Sudden Shortage of
People . What s going on? I think. My next door neighbor Amethyst (she s 16 and I m 14), is
hanging up her Christmas decorations. I smile, wave, and say Looks good! as I walk up my
front steps. Thanks, Lily! she replies with a wide smile. Something about that smile makes me
flinch for a moment. I think there s a quick glow of red in her eyes... Whatever, I m probably just
seeing things or something. Nobody s eyes glow red, I think to myself so I just shrug and let it slide.
I pause momentarily and notice that her Christmas decorations looked oddly familiar. That s it!

are shooting at me, but it s quite difficult. My vision is blurred with every possible color of the
rainbow spectrum. Too... Bright... I manage to mumble before I scurry away like a ferret.
GET HER, NOW! Amethyst commands her robots. Especially you, Robert the robot! she screeches.
I run off into the wilderness, keeping hold of my Christmas decorations. There s a forest near my
house, and I quickly run outside of the trail. My daily walks have finally paid off. I knew this
forest by heart.
Where s Lily?! Amethyst scowls in frustration. We had her just a minute ago! However, her voice
sounds very distant. I think I ve lost her.
Just to be safe and confirm she won t come back for me, I continue running. I happen to come
across a warrior sword. It s faintly glowing blue, and it s stuck in a tree trunk. I notice a
flamethrower resting on the ground by my feet, and I pick them both up in relief. I deflate my
Christmas decorations and shove them in my bag. Then, I continue running.

In my setting I display respect for each individual, namely with the children I seek to understand
before being understood. It is incredibly important to gather all the background information about
the children in the setting as well as the current relevant information to incorporate this knowledge
before planning for the individual needs of each child i.e. A child with poor language abilities may
need different types of communication tactics to ensure inclusive learning such as visual
stimulation in the form of demonstrations, videos, pictures or hand gestures.
I value differences by using inclusive practice which involves a lot of detailed planning like
identifying appropriate support during play and encouraging a child to participate as part of a
group in an activity. By making sure I avoid making assumptions I give every child the same
opportunities to gauge their individual development stage and needs as opposed to presuming all
children of a certain age and physicality must be capable i.e. If a child has only one arm or is
native to a different country and therefore does not speak English, they should still be encouraged
to take part in activities provided all necessary planning is in place to suit their unique individual
needs, also avoiding isolating them from the other children.

how the feud between the Hutus and Tutsis affected their way of living harshly. Overall, the
validity of the film is quite high, however, it contains some additional incorrect facts. Therefore, the

A Note On The Bailout Crisis
The concept of a bailout is a loaded topic by itself, and its definition certainly does not give it any

When a company or a country s economy is on the verge of collapse, chaos is not far behind. Job
loss, bank s individual trust, the stock market, and even each household s net. worth is at stake, all
of which leads to economic decline. During this time of panic, banks (commercial or central
depending on the scale) must make a decision on whether or not they should save/bailout the

Asset Relief Program, or TARP. Congress then passed, and President Bush signed, the Emergency

Program (Investopedia). In November 2008, the Federal Reserve instituted quantitative easing
programs following the 2007 2008 financial crisis; or QE as it has become known. Quantitative
easing is the act in which central banks buy government bonds in order to promote economic

referring to it as QE2. A third round again was later announced on September 13, 2013; which is

The World s External Forces
Humans have the great ability to introspect any of their own actions, which in turn allows them to
think greatly about how they act and treat others, while formulating an internal debate of whether
their actions are commendable or poor. Using this great ability is imperative for humans to have
the proper view and respect for other individuals, including those from a different species. Without
using this feature we cannot understand the plights of other individuals and the deeper reasons
behind why they re occurring and we are stuck with one simple story of life that has yet to be

information, which gave us the invention of language, complex thoughts, and being able to see
within ourselves. The most insolent thing we can do with it is to not use it and live in a false
world with a false identity as a result. Biology and the world s external forces can only help
humans up to a certain extent. They can only gift us newer tools to use through a process that
takes millions of years to perform. As complex as the brain is, it is just as easily prone to

The U.S Government Privacy Issues
The American government exploits privacy for the purpose of looking for clandestine terrorists.
This affects all the citizens that log in, and post updates on a daily basis, when in actuality a piece
of their privacy is being sent to the United States Government. The US government has a very
powerful and watchful eye, within the borders of the nation and the rest of the world. Privacy
issues are no obstacle for Big Brother (U.S. Govt.). Privacy affects many facets of our daily lives;
lesser things have sparked revolutions in the past. Privacy should be the central focusing topic for
the public in this data age for all citizens of the world. Whenever citizens of America, or the world
for that matter, log in to their computers, they do not realize the U.S. Government is compromising
their very privacy.

Recreation Evaluation
The therapeutic recreation process is a systematic method of planning and providing services for
individuals with disabilities. The process is based on a systems theory approach. The system is
designed for a guide for a well defined, goal oriented purpose to the activity or program being
provided. It involves four phases: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Use of the
therapeutic recreation process is not dependent on location, but on systematic and consistent use of

The implementation phase involves coordinating and executing recreation activities proposed in the
plan, as well as documenting information about the individual (i.e. his or her responses), the

Implementation of the individual plan in the recreation setting requires focusing to social (i. e.
attitudinal), programmatic (i.e. adaptations), and environmental (i.e. accessibility) issues. For
example, general recreation programs in which people with disabilities can be included may not be
structured to accommodate people with a variety of disabilities. The therapists may implement

The Grasshopper And The Bell Cricket Analysis
A character an abundant of readers forget to point out are one of the most crucial ones there is in
any piece of literature. The setting makes the narrative come to life with vivid imagery that
enhances the experience of reading, especially when it can be much more than just a place or time.
In The Grasshopperand the Bell Cricket and A Pair of Tickets, the settings support the concept of
a location being connected to the stages of life. There is a correlation between the setting and the
theme of each of the short stories. Schools are a place where one receives and education; on the
other hand, it is a place where innocence blooms. Japan as a piece of the setting supports the
concept even further. Yasunari Kawabatas work, The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket takes place
in a school playground where there s a group of children out insect hunting. Elements of children
and the playground represents the youthfulness of an individual s life as it begins pure. Ideas of the
youth are presented in the lines, Behind the whiteboard fence of the school playground...
(Kawabata, Yusanari, 1924). The color white as stated in the previous line is correlated with
innocence, goodness, softness, and perfection. By choosing to describe the color of the fence,
something that is redundant in our daily lives, he is implementing further the idea of the purity
when a life begins as well as relationships. Correspondingly, the children in the playground play an

In an interview on The Howard Stern Show, Lopez accused Mencia of appropriating 13 minutes
of his material in Mencia s HBO special. He also claimed he had a physical altercation with
Mencia over the alleged appropriation.[4][5] Complaining about the cancellation of his television
series Lopez declared TV just got a lot whiter! and the fact that his show was cancelled and
replaced by Cavemen which only aired for a few episodes before its cancellation. Lopez says
that ABC caused over a hundred of his show s staff to become jobless.[6] Lopez frequently
mentions his hatred for Eric Estrada. According to Lopez, he met Estrada when he was a teenager
and Estrada was in the zenith of his career. Estrada refused to shake the teenager s hand, and Lopez
has hated him ever since. Lopez mentions this story whenever he gets the opportunity, telling the
story while guest hosting The Jim Rome Show, and saying Fuck that puto. In reference to Estrada
in his comedy special America s Mexican, Lopez uses this as a warning to everyone that
celebrities should always be nice to their fans as they do not know who they (fans) will grow up to
be.

America s views of slavery through his writings and actions. Frederick Douglass had many
achievements throughout his life. His Life as a slave had a great impact on his writings. His great

In reply, Douglass wrote Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave (1845),
which he revised in later years: in final form, it appeared in 1882 under the title Life and Times Of
Frederick Douglass. (Graves, 52 ) Frederick s oratory skills left the largest impact on Civil War time
period literature. Douglass s most significant autobiographical works include: Narrative Of The
Life Of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave: My Bondage And My Freedom: and Life And
Times Of Frederick Douglass. These three books are about the same person, and share a similar
message, but are written by Frederick at different times of his life, looking at the past in different
ways.
In Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass, Douglass used a simple, yet educated way to
show how he felt as a slave growing up in Maryland. He describes in the Narrative I have often
been so pinched with hunger as to dispute with old Nep, the dog, for the crumbs which fell from
the kitchen table. (Douglass, 34) Douglass s Narrative was known as being a brief, descriptive
(like his statement in the above lines), and easy to read piece of literature. It showed the
hardships of slavery as seen by a real slave. I remember thinking that God was angry with the
white people because of their slave holding wickedness, and therefore his judgments were abroad
in the land (Douglass, 89) Douglass became educated through his own means. Knowledge was truly

The Value Of An Education
What is the value of an education really worth in today s society? In order to clearly understand the
worth of an education, one would have to understand what the word education really means.
According to dictionary.com, it defines the term education as, the act or process of imparting or
acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgement, and generally of
preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse
/education). An education is an important factor needed to succeed in the world we live in today.
Because of its importance, many are continuing their education beyond high school and a
bachelor s degree. If one chooses not to expand their knowledge and open their mind to be
taught, a person will then become stagnant and unfamiliar with the changes in our civilization.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Nelson
Mandela. Americans with four year college degrees made 98 percent more an hour on average
in 2013 than people without a degree. That s up from 89 percent five years earlier, 85 percent a
decade earlier and 64 percent in the early 1980s. (1. New York Times article) In the competitive
workforce today, higher skill levels are required to complete day to day tasks in each particular
job field. What skills a person can gain through college will help them execute their job well. The
better educated a person is the more job opportunities are available

the same place or having a shared interest. 1.2 Explain why it is important to establish a clear
team purpose. establishing a clear purpose/goal is important so the group understands what it is
trying to achieve. Without a clear goal or purpose, the team may not be able to identify when the

The Effects Of Air Pollution On The Environment
The typical public, particularly sick people with upper or inferior respiratory symptoms know that
severe respiratory impacts can take place due to air pollution based on the information from the
media. It is vital for the relevant specialists to possess present information of the probable health
impacts as well as the manner in which they might influence their clients in order to instruct them
adequately. In particular, the specialists in the field should meticulously know that both gaseous as
well as particulate matter might potentially worsen the existing pathophysiology of the airway.
This paper also provides some overview of the findings for the research conducted. Therefore,
remedial measures ought to be in place to mitigate the effects of air pollution.
Introduction
Clean air is important to all living things especially the animals as well as human beings for the
purpose of healthy coexistence. At present, many nations appear to strive towards ensuring that the
air is clean. However, because of continuous and necessary urban development, the atmosphere
progressively experiences pollution. Nations as well as the entire world will be able to reduce
pollution levels if not eliminated to reduce the burden of disease such as stroke, heart disease, lung
cancer, chronic and acute respiratory sicknesses including asthma if they are aware and educated
about the causes and the health effects of air pollution.

Disaster Response Leadership Research Evaluation Table
Disaster Response Leadership Research Evaluation Table In this report, we have critically
evaluated an article published in the International Journal of Leadership Studies entitled Disaster
Response Leadership: Perception of American Red Cross Workers (Wheeler, Weeks Montgomery,
2013). This article was chosen because it is directly related to the topic of module 2: Leadershipand
Leadership Theories.
Research Evaluation Table
Research Topic
Leadership is an important aspect of management sciences. Over the past century, many theories
have been developed to provide managers with the tools required to effectively lead their
subordinates. From a simplistic theory cataloguing individual traits and characteristics, leadership
has become a complex science shaped by many forces (ex: behavioural sciences, organizational
culture, strategic management trends etc.) (Avolio, Walumba and Weber, 2009).
Problem or Management Dilemma
Recent traumatic events have put forward a new field of study within leadership theory: crisis
leadership. Like Wheeler, Weeks and Montgomery (2013, p.79) points out: many leaders have been
criticised how they have responded to a crisis situation, but little is known about how leaders must
adapt their leadership style within crisis management. In order to understand this problem, Wheeler,
Weeks and Montgomery (2013, p.80) highlights that the study of various crisis organizations could
provide the conceptual framework to better understand how one can

Probation Officer Requirements, Qualifications and Training
The majority of corrections departments require probation officers to have a bachelor s degree
from a 4 year college or university. A bachelor s degree in corrections, criminal justice, psychology,
social work or another related field is preferred. Some positions, such as federal and higher level
positions, require a master s degree in criminal justice, social work, counseling or a related field.
Most departments require applicants to be at least 21 years of age, not to have been convicted of
a felony, and to have strong writing and interview skills. Computer skills have become necessary
as well due to the technological advancements in the field of probation and the court system. Some
states require probation officers to have at least two years of corrections, parole, correctional
treatment specialist or probation experience. Previous social work or counseling experience where
the objective was to guide a subject through difficult situations is also looked upon highly.
Probation officer training differs depending on the department but will usually include a six
month to a year probationary period during which a new probation officer will work with a
supervisor or experienced probation officer. The application and hiring process will also involve
physical and psychological examinations, and there will be written tests and oral interviews. Most
states require probation

The Effects Of Horserace Journalism
The media in Canada plays an integral role in relaying important election based news to the general
public. This may include candidate s policy, stories of intrigue, and in some cases, polling related to
an election. However, an analysis of modern literature suggests that Canadian media outlets have
become overly focused on polling data during election cycles and, subsequently, have made
horserace journalism much more prominent in mainstream news. The purpose of this literature
review is to explore and discuss the current debate among academic research on the effects that
constant polling publication and horserace journalism have on voters, and consequently, on
Canadian democracy. This paper will first discuss horserace journalism and the... Show more

Not only has horserace journalism and the increase of polling publication taken root in Canadian
media, but it appears to be growing. In 1988 it was reported that in a 51 day election campaign, 22
national voting intention polls were created and publicized (Bastien and PГ©try 2013:1). During
the 2008 election, which lasted 37 days, over 200 national voting intention polls were created
(ibid:1 2). This massive increasing in polling has, in turn, seen a proliferation of news stories based
around polling data, instead of policy. In the 2006 election campaign period, Cutler, Matthews, and
Pickup (2012:270) found that 473 news stories were developed solely around polling data. Another
study has found that, although not used as the entirety of the story, in the 1997 election there were
4,430 media reports that included polling data within them Anderson (2006:287). Therefore, from
available literature, we can see that not only has horserace journalism and polling publication taken
root in Canadian election reporting but this constant use of polling, either as the story or within a
story, has been increasing since

  • 2. Research Paper On Paul s Thorn And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9,10 The word thorn speaks volumes on its own, we can relate immediately to thoughts of sufferings, pain, trouble, humiliation and physical ailments. Paul s thorn remains vague and cryptic, so that all of us with a thorn may readily relate and hopefully apply the spiritual lessons in this passage of scripture, into our own lives. Some say Paul s thorn had to do with his eye condition, possibly from the light that shown on him when he was traveling to Damascus, I m not so sure (we will go into that another day), others say Paul s thorn is attributed to the origin of demonic activity permitted by God, still others believe Paul s thorn was given to him to keep him from becoming proud over revelations he had received from God.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So what is and how can God s Grace work in our lives to help us live with our own thorns? Our first thoughts of grace may be poise, finesse, beauty and agility. Still, God s Grace is sufficient, it is adequate for the purpose and it is enough for us. Grace is God s presence, God s favor and God s power. It is a force, a heavenly strength given to those of us who will call upon God. This grace will rest on faithful believers who accept their weaknesses, sicknesses and difficulties for the Gospels sake. See Philippians ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Research Paper On Job Stress There are almost three billion people in this world who are employed on different positions in different organizations of the world. Their working conditions like environment, work load, interconnectivity with coworkers etc are different but these employees faces one common issue during their jobs that is Job Stress. Job Stress is perceived as a negative terminology which mostly employees all around the world tend to avoid. Stress is one of the burning issues that organizations have to deal so that employees can comfortably produce quality work. Stress causes an imbalance in one s life because it leads to depression and thus damages health, attitude and work behavior. Causes of stress are called stressors, which can be workplace conflict, role conflict, role ambiguity and workload. In my research the main focus is on work load and interconnectivity with coworkers. Stress has been defined in different ways over the years. Originally, it was conceived as pressure from the environment, then as strain within the person. The generally accepted definition today is one of the interactions between the situation and the individual. It is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After understanding these differences the managers will be able to provide such conditions to their employees in which the productivity of the employees will be greater while working under job ... • 4. Analysis Of Argument Against Headphones By Virginia Heffernan Analysis of Argument Against Headphones A century has passed since the creation of headphones, yet they have only recently come under fire. Headphones provide a way for people to listen to music, audiobooks, and podcasts privately without disrupting others around them. However, all of this private listening may soon fall on deaf ears. In Virginia Heffernan s article Against Headphones , she presents an argument stating that although headphones are useful in some professions, they cause substantial hearingloss, especially in young people. The formulated argument is effective and valid, and incorporates ethos, logos, and opposing viewpoints with rebuttals. Ethos Heffernan establishes her credibility as an author by quoting and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heffernan also illustrates how headphones work, stating, when an audio current passes through the device s voice coil, it creates an alternating magnetic field that moves a stiff, light diaphragm (Heffernan, 2011). Describing the history of headphones and how the technology works portrays Heffernan as a reasonable author with a deep understanding of her subject matter, which earns the trust and respect of the audience. Logos Incorporating logical appeals into her writing allows Heffernan to reach a larger audience by providing factual support as backing for the argument. The author writes, the number of teenagers with hearing loss... has jumped 33 percent since 1994 (Heffernan, 2011). By using a statistic as a logical premise in support of prohibiting headphones, the author sheds light on the harsh reality of headphone use: more young people experience hearing loss. When discussing the history of headphones, the author states, workers and soldiers have long used [headphones] to mute out the din of machinery or artillery while receiving one way orders from someone with a microphone (Heffernan, 2011). Heffernan recognizes a factual use of headphones while at the same time acknowledging that headphones are useful in some instances, which helps to strengthen her argument. Heffernan then goes on to say, headphone users who listen to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Impact Of Emperor Titus On The Roman Empire Throughout the period of Roman emperors, there were many good emperors who brought wealth and prosperity, but there were bad emperors who brought terror and poverty. Emperor Titus Augustus was one of the emperors who brought wealth and prosperity. He had one of the most popular rules, even though he only ruled for about 3 years. He was, also, nicknamed the darling of the human race by Suetonius (The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica). Although Emperor Titushad a short rule, he brought wealth and prosperity, thus making his rule have a positive impact on the Roman Empire. To begin, Titus was born in 39 A.D. His father, Vespasian , was a high ranking military official at the time. Titus early life consisted of serving in his father s legion. After the evil emperor Nero died, Vespasian was anointed emperor of Rome. Vespasian then gave Titus charge of the Jewish war and his legion. Titus successfully captured and destroyed Jerusalem in September of A.D. 70. To commemorate Titus glorious victory, an arch was built, which is now known as the Arch of Titus. After that victory, Titus was made Praetorian Guard by his father and they became close in ranks, but Vespasian avoided putting Titus on an equal rank as him. From then until the end of Vespasian s reign, they worked closely and peacefully. The early life of Titus included serving and commanding under his father s legions and serving as a Praetorian Guard. • 9. Romans Lifestyle references to both the ancient and modern world. Leisure is something that most people enjoy. Whether it s going away for a weekend spa break, taking long walks, or spending a day off fixing an old car, the way we experience leisure varies from person to person. As Jon Pike points in Chapter 1, some activities may not seem like leisure to some people. Taking long walks could seem like a way to make yourself exercise more, for example. But if you go for walks for no other reason than you enjoy it, the activity becomes leisure. In this essay, I will be looking closely at leisure activities from both the ancient world, and the modern one, and discussing how social status impacted on the way people experienced leisure. I will start by discussing leisure amongst the Romans, giving brief examples of what they did for leisure, then moving on to talk about if, or how, social status amongst them affected their experience of it. Then, I will move on to discuss leisure in the modern world, again, giving brief examples of what we do for leisure, then talking about whether or not social status affects how we experience it. ... NOVA clearly confirmed that the goal of the campaign was focused on branding. And there was a definite boost in mobile Webtraffic during the campaign window. We sense a substantial increase in local engagement with the brand on mobile platforms (Northern Virginia Community College, 2013). Strategy Employed to Accomplish Goal The strategy employed by NOVA as a means of accomplishing these goals incorporated several specific elements. The first was the need to determine and understand the relevance of mobile phone ownership and utilization within the U.S and then, extend this to the specific utilization of smartphones which would allow for mobile access to dynamic Internet content and apps. Smartphone usage across the U.S exceeded 60% utilization by early 2013 and continues to grow which outlines the potential benefits of targeting such users across specific marketing campaigns. For the purposes of the NOVA campaign the demographic of smartphone users was also evaluated in order to determine the number of users in their targeted age range that would be using such a system. Catastrophe Bonds Catastrophe Bonds By Kirill Graminschi The trouble with Catastrophe Bonds The article presents the difficulties insurance companies face when they are issuing catastrophe bonds. Do they efficiently hedge against large scale disasters? It is very difficult hedging against catastrophic losses. Japan s March earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster threat could cost the insurance industry between $21 and $34 billion. The catastrophe bonds are not helping much the insurance companies, although they were designed to do so. Catastrophe bonds have limits on type and location of the disaster they will cover. Considering all the risk stated above, the insurance companies are still issuing the catastrophe bonds. In my point of view the issuance of catastrophe bonds by insurers is a successful financial hedging technique. Even though the investors are having large returns on risk linked securities and only a small number of them lost their principle, the purpose of these instruments is to provide coverage for highly improbable risks. The benefit of these bonds is that they allow the insurance companies to secure a layer of coverage for their worst case scenarios, which may not be available if traditional reinsurance is used. Catastrophe bonds help to diversify the protection capacity and supplement traditional reinsurance. The insurance companies are transferring major risks and thus have more capital to underwrite new business, therefore using the bonds to diversify their sourcing of reinsurance. The issuance of risk linked securities is a great strategy in supplementing traditional reinsurance, but these bonds still need to prove their value in the long run. In conclusion, I would not agree with Mr. Niklaus Hilti s words: from the perspective of insurers and reinsurers, traditional reinsurance is clearly the better hedge. The catastrophe bonds are carefully designed to provide insurers and reinsurers the capital they need for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Electoral Fraud And Electoral Process Elections put power in the hands of citizens by giving them the ability to choose and replace their leaders. They are a potent tool for holding leaders accountable and peaceably resolving political and societal conflict. Because elections determine political winners and losers, however, electoral processes from voter registration through results reporting have long been targeted for manipulation by dishonest regimes and political actors, especially in Congo (Brazzaville). Such manipulation or sometimes the threat of it weakens public confidence in democratic processes, erodes the legitimacy of governments, and undermines the will of the people. Suspicions of electoral fraud can catalyze polarization or trigger conflict. The country of the Congo (Brazzaville) needs to work to build public confidence in elections by improving the performance and accountability of electoral management bodies, strengthening meaningful and peaceful political competition, and supporting citizen oversight of electoral processes. Robust citizen oversight of elections is critical not only because it can help deter and detect electoral malfeasance, but also because it helps to engage citizens in democratic processes and build trust in election outcomes. Background The potential for fraud overshadows elections around the world, even in long established democracies. Fair and competitive elections are essential mechanisms for providing public accountability, transparency, and representation. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He owns numerous team records for the Cubs, and holds the major league record for the most home runs hit in a month (20, in June 1998). In recognition of his accomplishments as a hitter, Sosa won Silver Slugger awards (an award for offensive output voted on by managers and coaches) in 1995 and 1998 2002.[1] In 2003 the Cubs won the National League Central Division title. Reactions And Reactions Of Photosynthesis Photochemical Reactions of Photosynthesis Lillian Doubrava Bio 111 568 Oct. 28, 2015 TA: Yufeng Wan Abstract: In this lab, we experimented with the photochemical reactions of photosynthesis. In the first experiment, by putting test tubes at different distances from a light source, we tested the effects of light intensity. In the second experiment, the effects of light wavelengths and pigments were tested on spinach disks under different colored lights over time to see which light could float the most disks. In the third experiment, by using photosynthetic pigments, we measured absorbance to see which wavelengths of light were used for photosynthesis. Intro: The purpose of this lab was to identify the requirements and products of the photochemical reactions of photosynthesis by specifically looking at the effects of light intensity, light wavelength, and the activity of photosynthetic pigments. Photosynthesis is amongst the most important biochemical processes on earth because it is how the biosphere gets its chemical energy, which is fixed from solar energy. Photochemical, or light, reactions are light dependent and instantaneous reactions that capture energy and split water molecules to release oxygen. They also activate the electron transport chain. In the first experiment, our hypothesis was that the medium light position, 30 cm away, would have the greatest absorption because it is not too close or too far from the light source for absorption. • 16. The Lifestyle Of The Amphibian The lifestyle of the amphibian is very complex and fragile. Just the mere fact that amphibians are biphasic causes them to run into a variety of problems. Since they deal with both an aquatic and terrestrial environment, they tend to run into an increased amount of pollutants and environmental changes. Pollution both on land and in water can affect water pHand other variables that can be very harmful to an amphibians survival. Since amphibians can be used basically as biomarkers to the environment, the study and resolution of this problem can aid in two conservation efforts. Not only will we be able to increase amphibian populations but we also help make environments less polluted. Healthy amphibians equal a healthy habitat for all. The reason why amphibians are considered biomarkers is because they have a rather unique skin. It is thin and permeable because most all amphibians use their skin for respiration. This also allows the skin to absorb and excrete water. That means if the water is polluted or contains impurities, the amphibian will absorb all these changes through their skin. This can make the animal very sick. It s even worse for the larvae and eggs of the amphibians. Larval and neotenic amphibians are completely aquatic and have less keratinized skin then most adult amphibians. This makes them more affected by changes in water composition. Merriam Webster s Dictionary defines social media as forms of electronic communication through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (Social Media). Social Media provides great tools and features for social interaction with others in the form of file sharing including photos, videos, and real time chat. Some of the most common and popular social sites are FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Social Media sites provide numerous entertainment features, as well as a plethora of ways for people from all over the world to connect with each other, make new friends, or connect with old ones. I feel these sites truly share a common goal of uniting, connecting, and bringing people closer together but, there is a dark side to be noted. Social Media, if used in moderation, can be a useful tool indeed but, like anything else when used excessively, it can be dangerous to our mental health and well being. A distracted driver is a dangerous one. If you are focused on a conversation and your eyes are not on the road, drivers cannot be expected to make a quick and safe decision should the need for one arise. The behavior of a driver while using a cell phone has been compared to that of one driving while under the influence. Studies have shown that those who use a cell phone while driving are four times more likely to be involved in a crash than those who don t. On the flip side, it is very reassuring to know as you are driving down the highway that if you were to get a flat tire or your engine were to overheat you could flip open that gadget in the cup holder next to you and have a plan b on the way. Ever since I was little I was always interested in acting and had dreamed of being in movies. Many kids probably had a similar dream, but for some reason I had a strong desire to follow through with it. Expressionist paintings portray profound mental torment and have dark, gloomy undertones. This article was chosen because it is directly related to the topic of module 2: Leadershipand Leadership Theories. Research Evaluation Table Research Topic Leadership is an important aspect of management sciences. Over the past century, many theories have been developed to provide managers with the tools required to effectively lead their subordinates. From a simplistic theory cataloguing individual traits and characteristics, leadership has become a complex science shaped by many forces (ex: behavioural sciences, organizational culture, strategic management trends etc.) (Avolio, Walumba and Weber, 2009). Problem or Management Dilemma Recent traumatic events have put forward a new field of study within leadership theory: crisis leadership. Like Wheeler, Weeks and Montgomery (2013, p.79) points out: many leaders have been criticised how they have responded to a crisis situation, but little is known about how leaders must adapt their leadership style within crisis management. In 1988 it was reported that in a 51 day election campaign, 22 national voting intention polls were created and publicized (Bastien and PГ©try 2013:1). During the 2008 election, which lasted 37 days, over 200 national voting intention polls were created (ibid:1 2). This massive increasing in polling has, in turn, seen a proliferation of news stories based around polling data, instead of policy. In the 2006 election campaign period, Cutler, Matthews, and Pickup (2012:270) found that 473 news stories were developed solely around polling data. Another study has found that, although not used as the entirety of the story, in the 1997 election there were 4,430 media reports that included polling data within them Anderson (2006:287).
