The Code And Software Components Of An Information System
To protect any prestigious company and make it safe for both the employees and users certain
safeguards needs to be put in place in order to ensure integrity. Technical safeguards, data safeguards,
human safeguards, account management are some of the essential ways a company can help protect
their image. Technical safeguards include identification and authentication via user names and
passwords, smart cards, biometric authentication, encryption and single sign on for multiple systems.
Another is data safeguards which consists data administration, database administration, key escrow,
backup copies, and physical security for all devices that store database data. Human safeguards are
safeguards for employees, including security sensitivity for position definitions. Account
administration and system procedures are also an important part of data security. These measures are
put in place to ensure that the reputation of the company is upheld throughout its daily operations.
The Use of the First Line of Technical Safeguards to Protect the Business
The hardware and software components of an information system is very important to the overall
functionality of the business organization. To ensure that only the right persons are accessing sensitive
information technical safeguards provide a sense of safety. Identification and authentication is very
critical for any information system. Identification is the unique username that employees are usually
given or is made by themselves. This

Aspiration Pneumonia Essay
Introduction
Background and Significance Dysphagia is a swallowing disorder that is described as an abnormality
in transferring a solid or liquid bolus from the oral cavity to the stomach (Bernard, Loeslie, Rabatin,
2015). With a diagnosis of dysphagia, a patient will likely aspirate foods and/or liquids of different
consistencies. Aspiration is the entry of food or liquid into the airway below the true vocal folds
(Logemann, 1998, p. 5). Specifically, thin liquid dysphagia occurs when a patient aspirates while
consuming any liquids that are not thickened, such as water. Patients with thin liquid dysphagia are
often prescribed a modified thickened liquid only diet, meaning they consume liquids that are
thickened to a greater consistency of nectar, honey, or pudding (Carlaw et al., 2007). An increased
viscosity reduces the flow rate of a bolus, makes it more cohesive, and is easier for many people to
control intraorally, thus preventing spillage into the airway (Murray, Miller, Doeltgen, Scholten,
2013). Dysphagia can also contribute to the occurrence of aspiration pneumonia. Aspiration
pneumonia occurs when organisms infiltrate the lower respiratory tract during an episode of aspiration
and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most commonly used free water protocols is The Frazier Free Water Protocol (FWP)
developed by the Frazier Rehabilitation Institute (Langdon, 2009). This protocol allows patients with
dysphagia to have oral intake of water between meals, even while prescribed with a thickened liquids
diet. Initially, the purpose of the FWP was to increase compliance of patients on modified diets;
however, more recently, researchers are claiming the positive outcomes of increased hydration levels
(Bernard et al, 2015). Patients on thickened liquids only diets often complain often show disapproval
of thickened liquids and modified solid consistencies (Karagiannis, M. et al.,

Soccer Vs Football Compare And Contrast
Soccer vs. Football
Soccer and Football have long been high class sports with ample amount of respect and dignity,
groomed through history. Regulations and guidelines have been set in stone and shifted throughout the
course of competition. Safety is key in both recreational sports and has become essential for the
protection of the people that participate. Stylistically the two sports contain a different overall goal,
however the techniques vary. From a beginners point of view the sports seem derived from a primary
source, however in the overall scheme they differentiate through many different loop holes. These
differences will be depicted throughout the essay, allowing the reader to grasp a better understanding
of the sports as a whole. In reality soccer and football are extremely similar, yet diverse in many ways.
Historically speaking these sports derived from one another, if soccer was none existent there would

The official rules of soccer were founded in England ( A Brief History of Soccer ). Although we are
not sure when or how it originated, evidence dating back nearly three thousand years ago in China
shows that a small fur stuffed leather ball was used as the official game piece of a purely foot based
activity with the overall objective being to score into opposite teams net likely known as Tsu Chu. The
brutality of the sport grew over time as the games overall principles were toyed with, causing more
injuries and controversy with higher powers in England, during the ruling of King Edward, resulting
in expulsion and arrest if caught participating in the sport ( A Brief History of Soccer ). Hundreds of
years later the popularity in the sport had grown tremendously in England, allowing teams to be
formed in schools. Soon after, the Americans started to

Summary Of Animalistic Desire By D. H. Lawrence
D.H Lawrence s ideas of love and interpersonal attraction are nothing if not polarizing. His distillation
of love to an animalistic desire can be seen as either the height or death of romanticism. One may
argue that such uncontrollable hormonal puppeteering undermines the human element of restraint or a
more noble idea of love as unique companionship. In a sense, Lawrence challenges the notion of
separation between and the beasts; he suggests the protestant fueled traditions of courtship are not a
sign of human elevation, but a convolution of instinct that is as primal as the lust of thirst. However,
Lawrence may also represent the life of romanticism, shaping such animal drive into the current of a
more galvanistic construct of romance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early conflict, before grandiose confrontations of love, is found when Dr. Fergusson considers the
contradictions he feels for the town he works and lives in. Walking through the dreary countryside he
muses:
It wore him out, but at the same time he had a craving for it. It was a stimulant to him to be in the
homes of the working people, moving as it were through the innermost body of their life. His nerves
were excited and gratified. He could come so near, into the very lives of the rough, inarticulate,
powerfully emotional men and women. He grumbled, he said he hated the hellish hole. But as a matter
of fact it excited him, the contact with the rough, strongly feeling people was a stimulant applied
direct to his nerves. (237)
His love hate relationship stems from two conflicting inner personalities. The first Fergusson is a man
of medicine, sophisticated and reasonable. He is repulsed by downtrodden town, seeing it as the
antithesis of all that his education represents. The second man is a reaction to the discipline and
restraint required to create the first emotional, craving excitement, and attracted to the simplicity and
assertiveness of uneducated people. The conflicts between the doctor s opposing sides are soon
mirrored in his blooming, although sudden, romance. Initially, the logical side of Dr. Fergusson views
Mabel as simply his friend s sister, willing to strike up polite conversation, yet hesitant at her
dangerous eyes that always

Cognitive Learning
Abstract
Cognitive psychology has long been an integral part of psychology. It has a direct impact on how
educator s look to improve the teaching and learning process. (Huitt 2006) Much research is done on
how we process information. There have been numerous models created to help illustrate this process.
Metacognition is also important to educators in it allows a learner to judge how well they are learning
a particular subject. There are many ways that we process information. Theorists have developed
models of information processing. These models are a cornerstone for education. They provide
teachers with understanding of how their students retain the subject matter they are being taught.

done by incorporating information from previous lessons in new lessons or repeating important
information in a variety of ways. (Huitt 2003) Metacognition is described by David Meichenbaum and
his colleagues as people s awareness of their own cognitive machinery and how the machinery works.
(Woolfolk 2007) This can also be defined as knowledge about knowing and learning. (Woolfolk 2007)
Metacognition is the application of the three types of knowledge discussed previously: declarative,
procedural, and conditional. There are three skills that are used in metacognition: planning,
monitoring, and evaluating. Planning determines how much time will be spent on a task, what
methods to use, what resources are needed, organization, what needs focused attention, etc.
Monitoring is checking with yourself to see how you are doing. Ask yourself if it makes sense or have

ABSTRACT: Digital Watermarking is a technology which is used to identify the owner, distributor of
a given image. In recent years, digital watermarking plays a vital role in providing the appropriate
solution and various researches have been carried out. In this paper, an extensive review of the
literature related to the color image watermarking is presented together with compression by utilizing
an assortment of techniques. The proposed method should provide better security while transferring
the data or messages from one end to the other end. The main objective of the paper is to hide the
message or a secret data into an image which acts as a carrier file having secret data and to transmit to
the intention securely. The watermark can be extracted with minimum error. In terms of PSNR, the
visual quality of the watermarked image is exceptional. The proposed algorithm is robust to many
image attacks and suitable for copyright protection applications.

Thoroughbred A thoroughbred is a type of horse. This horse is mostly known for being used as race
horses. These horses are commonly known to be used in flat racing throughout North America.
Though this is how many people know them, this is not all the thoroughbred can do. This is an
amazing breed that is known to be able to do many different things. Thoroughbreds also have a unique
style of how they are built and how they (Blocksdorf n.p.). The breeding of the thoroughbred was the
result of a horse that could carry weight and sustain speed over extended distances. This is the
reasoning behind why people started to use thoroughbreds as race horses (Breeds of Livestock

Many thoroughbreds are just riding horses for pleasure, but there is also many different sports that
they are involved in other than racing. The main sports other than racing are jumping, dressage, and
hunting. Show jumping is when horse and rider compete in a competition to complete a course of
jumps without error and quickly. Dressage is when the horse and rider do patterns in an arena and the
rider is able to make the horse look like it is dancing. This is one of the most difficult things that you
can train a horse to do. Hunting or hunter jumping is when the horse and rider compete in a long cross

The Role Of Capitalism In Colonial America
What allowed America its prosperity? Riddled with hurricanes, tribal warfare, harsh winters, and other
difficulties, it seems like colonial America should ve been decimated without constant support from
Great Britain. And with benign negligence from Great Britain, Colonial America started to understand
they could in fact hold their own as a group of colonies, but not without vast intellectual and economic
innovation and progress to overcome the disasters of famine, weather, and the wild nature of the
American continent. Colonial America saw these dangers and knew there was a need for a system to
gather the most food and provide the most work; that system came to be known as capitalism after
socialist like communes failed their colonies.
It is important to understand where American colonies started during their settlement. Capitalism wasn
t created out of thin air by the Americans, and they certainly didn t start out with the system from the
beginning. In fact, the first American settlements in the early 1600s were set up with a communal
stock of foodstuffs and with all land being publically owned; settlers were to take what they needed
from these stocks of food and return what they could return, while the food was supplied by land
worked on by all. However, this system rapidly decayed its subjects, leaving the colonies with no
food. This is because when there is no incentive to work more food, profit, land, et cetera people do
not work. And if one will gain the same

Decision Making Approaches
I Introduction
A job for a leader is to make decisions. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect of
decision making including coming up with ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing directives
(Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build up proper
decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision making processes
is a significant text for them. This essay firstly is going to discuss the benefits of automated decision
making due to improvement of technology, such as effective quality and services. Yet, abundant
limitations including environmental changes and professional shortages will be illustrated in the next
part. Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of multiple
courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006).
Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their jobs
(Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive
relationship with organisational outcomes.
Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in
Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant differences of global management culture are demonstrated.
For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more when they
progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global management
should be aware of differences in culture. Moreover, real life decision making makes more sense than
people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and Westley, 2001).
Intuition
To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive
processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the data or information in the world cannot trump
the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one s gut instinct, feeling as well as intuition
(Matzler et al., 2007). Dane and Pratt (2007) also state that intuition comes from

The Attack Of Pearl Harbor
On December 7, 1941 the world was embroiled into the attack of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Japan
attacked Pearl Harbor with their ally, Nazi Germany. It started with Japan being a bit suspicious and
not so thrilled with the Treaty of Versailles as it was seen as a way to keep everything in ship shape
even if there were some disagreements in the world. The attack of Pearl Harbor could have been
prevented if America had not forced them to trade, had not moved the Pacific Fleet in California, and
by not provoking them by doing terrible things to Japan. To start off, the attack could have been

In document C, it says President Roosevelt moves US Pacific fleet from California to Pearl Harbor .
This was on the timeline in 1940. Also on the timeline just one year later was the attack on Pearl
Harbor. This proves that by them moving the Fleet it helped them be able to attack because it was
even closer to them now, and at easy reach. In document E it reads How can we let the United States
do as she pleases, even though there is some uneasiness? This shows how Japan infact did have a
problem with America s behavior and was trying to stop it, because it was not fair for them. Overall, if
America had kept their Pacific Fleet in the same place, it would have been harder for Japan to start
war with them and actually fulfil their wishes of not having America controlling them with such things
as trade, and actually much more... Some people might say the war couldn t be stopped because Japan
already had a lot on western imperialism, however, sure they did not agree with it but they wanted to
stay pure and isolated, so they didn t really care what was happening outside of Japan. Once again,
document B states, Japan believed in isolationism until pressured by the United States to open itself up
to trade . America caused Japan to be disrupted and brought the war on themselves. To conclude, if
The U.S. didn t mess with Japan to start off, there wouldn t have been a war because Japan did not
care about the United States until then.

The four noble truths
The Buddhists strongly believed in the four noble truths which are the foundation of Buddhism. The
first noble truth, is the truth of suffering or (dukkha). The Pali word dukkha can be described using the
term temporary . Things that are painful and things that are pleasurable are considered dukkha because
they are temporary and do not last forever. In relation to human life, Buddhists believe that life itself is
not permanent and neither are we as humans.
The second noble truth is the reason behind suffering which is a craving or (tanha). The Buddhists,

Buddhist use meditation to see beyond the distractions of the world. Meditation where you focus on
your breathing is proven to lower blood pressure and decrease stress. Loving kindness meditation
focuses on increasing kindness and love. This meditation is good for controlling your anger or a
conflict with a loved one.
For example, in loving kindness meditation you can radiate feeling of love in all directions. You
project your feelings of love north, south, east and west. May all beings be safe, happy, healthy and
live joyously. Buddhists use this type of meditation to train their minds to be kinder. The goal is to
develop feelings of love and kindness not only to others but towards yourself. There are three main
techniques: mantras which are phrases that you repeat internally. Visualization, where you actually
create an image in your mind of a person you are thinking of or yourself, smiling happily. And
reflection, where you can think of qualities or actions that are good. Mediation is of much importance
to Buddhism. Buddha himself attained enlightenment through means of meditation. But attaining
enlightenment is not the only reason for meditation, many Buddhists use it to purify their minds.
Buddha said, He who is mentally concentrated, see s things according to reality.

Chanting is the traditional way of preparing one s mind for mediation. Some Buddhists use chanting

My classroom is geared for a Kindergarten class of 20 students, in a general education setting. The
learning environment has been organized to maximize the students safety, allow for student and
teacher movement, promote collaboration among peers, and foster student engagement in classroom
activities. Furniture utilized in this setting is developmentally and size appropriate, so that children are
comfortable. Storage cubbies, equipment, and materials have been placed in areas that are easily
accessible to both myself and my students without restricting the flow of classroom traffic or blocking
the student s view of or access to learning materials. I did not decorate every inch of space on my
classroom walls. I feel that this gives the appearance of clutter and pose more of a problem than a
purpose. I utilized neutral, calming colors as the backdrop for bulletin boards, as to not visually
overwhelm my students. Also, since my classroom only has one window, the access to natural light is
limited. I felt that use of bright or neon lights in combination with the florescent lighting could
potentially be distracting to my students. Bulletin boards will primarily serve to showcase student

The main idea or it can be called an argument that Armstrong put forth was to break the wrong image
of the west about the Holy Prophet. She starts describing Muhammad s rising success as a skilled and
respected politician; Armstrong mentions that the Christian world has always judged this part of the
prophet s life with distrust. The Western view has traditionally seen Muhammad s political success as
proof that he was an impostor using religion as a means to power. To explain this attitude, Armstrong
offers the following insight:
Because the Christian world is dominated by the image of the crucified Jesus, who said that his
kingdom was not of this world, we tend to see failure and humiliation as the hallmark of a religious
leader. We do not expect our spiritual heroes to achieve a dazzling success in mundane terms. (p. 164)

What Are The External Factors Of John Deere
Companies often run into roadblocks when trying to move their business forward. Often times they
center their focus on the internal and external factors that effect the business. Focusing on progressing
in today s economy external factors becomes priority for businesses. Being able to focus on these
trends help business to strategically plan for any unforeseen circumstances. Before we evaluate the
external factors we must understand there are two distinguished type of trends in the

2.) Are the female over 45 years of age able to file a lawsuit and what kind of recovery or permissible
damages will be afforded to the group?
3.) What are NERDS legal defenses?
II
CONCLUSIONS
1.) The females have a good case of age and gender discrimination based on the circumstances of
evidence.
2.) The females are able to file suit against the NERDS with sufficient evidence to award them
compensatory or punitive damages.
3.) Employment at will seems to be the best defense for NERDS.
III
FACTS Nerds for Hirer is a local and regional market for on site computer repairs. NERDS executives
believe that too much money is being paid to senior technicians over the age of 45 who do the repair
work. These technicians are paid more than new employees as a result of NERDS seniority system.
The majority of these senior technicians are women. NERDS has also been advised by several of its
clients that they think NERDS female technicians do not look professional in the company uniforms
and have expressed concerned that females just cannot know as much about computer stuff as the
male technicians. NERDS executives want to fire all female technicians over the age of 45 and replace
them with male employees under the age of 25.

Essay On Opioid Epidemic
The Opioid Epidemic in Canada and the USA and its Effects on the Health of the Affected
Communities Canada is in the mist of opioid overdose. On a per capita bases Canada is second only to
the US in opioid consumption and overdose. No fewer than 2480 people died from opioid overdoses
in 2016 across Canada. Among the hardest hit provinces are British Colombia, Alberta, and Ontario.
British Columbia reported close to 800 overdose fatalities between January and June of this year, a
jump of nearly 100 percent over the same period last year. In Alberta over 100 deaths were attributed
to fentanyl overdose between January and March of this year. Similar trends are seen across the

Programs to Address the Opioid Epidemic Various levels of governments in different communities
across North America have initiated programs to deal with the opioid epidemic and its effect. Some of
these initiatives will be examined in more details below. Supervised Consumption Sites Supervised
consumption sites are seen as an effective means of reducing harm associated with illicit opioid
consumption. Generally these are sites where drug users can inject or consume drugs under the
observation of trained personal. The first of such consumption sites in Canada Insite was established
in Vancouver in 2003. So far there has not been a single reported case of overdose fatality at the site.
The success of Insite as a harm reduction approach has encouraged jurisdictions across Canada to
adopt or contemplate similar systems. In 2017, the federal government passed Bill C 37 with the aim
of streamlining the application process for communities who wish to operate supervised consumption
sites. In Alberta, there are five proposed supervised injection sites, four in Edmonton and another in
Calgary. Out patient Naloxone Treatment Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that is designed to rapidly
reverse opioid overdose. Take home naloxone programs aim to reduce overdose fatalities by training
community members as first responders to opioid overdoses. Opioid users are provided with naloxone

Varsity Vs. Club Sports
The ball is rolling down the field with players from each team chasing after it, who will get there first?
The home team wins the race and passes the ball to their teammate. They settle the ball, gather their
footing, and kick the ball at the goal. The goalie dives and misses the ball as it hits the back of the net.
The team rushes toward each other celebrating the goal with a team hug. Club sports are just as
entertaining as varsity sports yet most people don t see it this way. This is only one of the multiple
differences between varsity and club soccer. Most varsity athletes take for granted their trainer access
and preferential treatment. Yet participants in club sports are not even allowed to talk to a trainer or

There are multiple vans sitting out in the South Parking Lot, that hardly ever get used. There is no
reason why the Athletic Department can t let us use those buses to drive ourselves to games. They don
t need to pay a driver, we can drive ourselves to save money. This is an easy fix and would make
traveling for club teams much easier. It would also eliminate the chances of getting separated and lost.
The Athletic Department may object to this solution because, it is a liability to the school and will cost
the school gas money. However, club soccer fundraises for uniforms, therefore we could also
fundraise a little extra money to fill up the gas tanks for the buses. They could also make club athletes
fill out liability forms, like going on a field trip in high school, that says the school is not liable for
anything that happens. Field space is limited and this makes it difficult for both varsity and club to
find space and time to practice. Take soccer for example. There are three grass soccer fields available
to play on. However, one is called Melucci Stadium and is used strictly for games and is off limits for
practices. Now we are down to two fields, neither of which have lights. This makes a difference
because both varsity soccer teams have a field from four to six. Now where does that leave club
soccer? Well, they let us have the fields from six to eight, yet around

Native American Photography Essay
Pictures often have several different angles and meanings behind their reason for being taken. In this
case these photos of Native Americans can be looked at and examined with several benefits and a few
drawbacks as well. The benefit I see would be the timeless history captured in these moments, a shot
in the past of a civilization still fresh and full of life that we as Americans now will never see again.
However, there are many different sides to every story and many angles to every camera, Companies
like the Great Northern Railroad often manipulate the scene (pg.34). This is an example of using the
great Native American people as propaganda and abusing their culture by putting a fake image in the
media and displaying it as something that it wasn t at the time. This is a serious problem with many
photos used even in modern society, we often use these as a historical source without considering the
actual facts behind the image. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

using a sewing machine(pg.46), it really does not matter if this photo was staged or taken in honestly,
you can clearly see the Blackfeet attempting to use the modern technology. I feel these photos display

Genetic Discoveries And Intellectual Property Rights
Genetic Discoveries and Intellectual Property Rights
As technology has change, grown, and evolve so has the application of the Canadian Patent Act.
Which before was used to deal with inventions that could be shown with prototypes, the Act is now
being used to protect more abstract innovations, such genetic material.
Patents cover new inventions such as process, machine, manufacture, composition of matter, or any
new and useful improvement to an existing invention . Patents represent a contract between an
inventor and society. By granting 20 years market exclusivity, patents create the potential for inventors
to generate high monetary returns on their successful innovations and discoveries. In exchange, the

In order for any discovery or new invention to be patentable, as stated by the Canadian Intellectual
Property office the invention/discovery must show novelty, utility, and ingenuity. Novelty: you must
be the original inventor or the person who discovered what you are trying to patent. Utility: a valid
patent cannot be obtained for something that does not work, or that has no useful function. Ingenuity:
To be patentable, your invention/discovery must be a development or an improvement of an existing
technology that would not have been obvious beforehand to a person of ordinary skill in the
technology involved.
Gene Patenting in Canada
Patents are necessary for technology to flourish. They provide an economic incentive to take the initial
costs of researching and developing of new inventions and discoveries, which later on benefit and
advance society. Without the protection of patents, as soon as a product enters the market, competitors
would be able to copy and manufacture and sell the product directly without having to take the initial
costs, that others have, which risks putting a stop to the creation and development of new discoveries
that continue to benefit society.
In Canada, gene patents are subject to the Canadian Patent Act. Which intends to stimulate the
creation and development of new technologies . A patent lasts 20 years and gives its holder the
exclusive right and liberty of making, manufacturing and using the invention and selling it to

Rapunzel Negative Socialization
Rapunzel Shows Negative Socialization
Fairy tales have been around for centuries introducing creativity to the minds of both its young and old
viewers. Young children view fairy tales for fun when really they can teach some youth how to deal
with emotional and physiological problems that they can relate to. Life lessons are often displayed to
its viewers, just not noticed. Positive and negative socialization are both shown in fairy tales,
sometimes one more than the other. Rapunzel shows negative socialization to young viewers because
she is surrounded by revenge, a controlling lifestyle, and isolation (Cresswell, 31). Revenge can, in
fact, be an action that causes conflicts between people, resulting in misfortune. For Rapunzel s
biological parents, it was absolutely devastating to them that they had to give up their only child that
they waited for what seemed like forever. They did this to avoid a harsh punishment from the evil
witch. If it weren t for Rapunzel s greedy Mother wanting rampion that she was craving, and her
attempting to be sneaky Father stealing from the witch, Rapunzel could ve still been with them (31).
As soon as Rapunzel was born, her parents handed her off to the witch, Mother Gothel. Mother Gothel
gave Rapunzel her name because it is another name used for rampion. Mother Gothel locked Rapunzel
up in a tower when she came to the age of twelve (31). The tower was far from the village, to where
no contact would or could be made with the biological parents of Rapunzel or anyone else. Her
biological parents have probably never had much more regret than losing their only daughter because
they were trying to steal from Rapunzel s new mother. In this part of the fairy tale, it can show
children that you can make someone s life miserable by just trying to get them back for something that
they did that was wrong in the first place. Revenge can truly ruin one s life, whether it is temporary or
permanent. In addition to revenge, the only way to keep Rapunzel low profiled was to follow strict
demands from her evil mother . Not only was Rapunzel taken from her biological parents, but she was
forced to live deep and far into the mass amount of wooded area. Rapunzel called a tall stairless and

The History of the Song Dynasty
For followers of the history of Western Civilization Marco Polo s visit to China was a major event.
What most do not know or appreciate is the fact that such visit occurred in one of China s golden ages
in a period known as the Song dynasty. The Song dynasty last for over three centuries from 960 to
approximately 1279 and was characterized by a vibrant and prosperous economy which was
accompanied by a rich cultural life. The prosperity enjoyed during the Song dynasty transcended
various aspects of Chinese society. In agriculture techniques were developed that greatly improved the
output of food products that was necessary due to the rapid increase in the nation s population.
Division of labor practices were introduced that allowed the crafts business to not only introduce new
products but also improved upon the quality of existing products. It was during the Song dynasty that
the use of paper currency was also introduced which made trading across the various territories within
China easier and more expedient. In the areas of science and technology, it was during the Song
dynasty that several of the more well known Chinese developments took place. Typography, the use of
movable type, and the invention of the compass occurred during the late stages of the Song dynasty
and were evidence of how advanced Chinese culture was during this period. The Chinese had already
been using gunpowder in the production of fireworks before the Song dynasty began but during this

Christians Should Not Press their Beliefs upon their Society
The stupidity of people amazes me. This is not to say that I am the smartest person or anything but it
still seems like adults, some having obtained several college degrees, would stop to think before they
opened their mouths. That these geniuses would put down their own personal views and beliefs long
enough to see the clear and logical answer. Instead, they are clouded by their ingrained thought and
thus cannot give an unbiased opinion. Julius R. Oppenheimer is a perfect example. This exemplary
theoretical physicist and scholar was man was quoted by theologian and philosopher Francis Schaeffer
as saying: Christianity is just a person s personal belief, while modern science is a fact. Christians
should not press their beliefs upon their society. I cannot begin to state how much this statement
boggles my mind. He not only states that his personal beliefs or lack thereof, are proof against
Christianity but that the unproven scientific theories that he holds are fact. The argument here is not
against his beliefs but against his unwaveringness towards those of others.
His statement that Christianity is just a personal belief is quite true. However this is what I find to be
utterly ridiculous: Oppenheimer doesn t even leave room for a person s personal belief to also be the
truth; he wants it to stay a fairytale invented to make us idiots happy. As if for some reason there has
to be a clear line between personal and religious beliefs. Anyone in there right mind

Comparing Women In Beowulf And Sir Gawain
The women in Beowulf, The Wife of Bath, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight all hold very
important roles within these works. At first glance when reading these works the women do not appear
to be significant characters, or even worth stopping to give a second thought to. The medieval
landscape, as viewed through the eyes of scholars, was hardly populated by women. Particularly,
young unmarried women or maidens have been paid little attention . (Phillips) However these women,
and the roles they posses can tell us a great deal about how women were regarded by society during
these time periods.
Looking at these three tales, and comparing the roles the women take on within these works presents
us with a variety of contrasting roles. The women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the form of the work, the presentation of these women is purposefully symmetrical, inviting
comparisons and contrasts. Those women who act as hostesses and peaceweavers, even while looking
out for their own interests, are central to the poem, and an understanding of the functions of the
women in Beowulf assists the comprehension of a complex poem. Those women presented as
monsters, the hostile hostesses and strifeweavers, are interesting in themselves, and also serve as
counter examples to the other female characters. A thorough investigation of the relationships between
the women and their men uncovers possibilities of a matrilineal undercurrent in the culture of
Beowulf, which may indicate a dim memory of a pagan Germanic past for the Anglo Saxon poet.
Though they are all defined by the men that they are close to, either sons, fathers, or brothers, none of
the women in Beowulf are marginal or excluded. (Gillian

New Medi New Digital Age
Living in a new digital age, we are seeing more computerized devices like smartphone and computers
replacing old media technologies like newspaper, radio and television. Characteristics of new media as
being digital, computerized, interactive and hypersexual have shaped new forms of communication.
Meanwhile, the ability of new media to merge different forms of media technologies, industries and
services so called convergence has also created unprecedented transformations in the society. In this
paper, I argue that new media has contributed to all aspects of the paradigm shift. As it is constantly
remediating its predecessors, it shapes new modes of subjectivity and changes the way we perceive

Thus, new media is reproducing itself through different old technologies. Not only new media is
remediating its predecessors, it also shapes new modes of subjectivity. Subjectivity means the process
of being a subject; it refers to who we are to how we react to the world. The emergence of new media
has unprecedentedly change the subjectivity of different things. For example, we are experiencing new
forms of textual experiences and representations such as genre, form and consumption. There are new
forms of embodiment and identity that change how we perceive ourselves and our bodies.
Organization also changes the rules of ownership, control, regulation. These subjectivities are all
being reshaped due to the change of our relationship with technologies. The example discussed in
lecture is subjectivity related to selfies. Media technologies has created selfies which are these self
portraits taken by phones that gets uploaded to social media. It is a convergence of technology,
interaction and body. Selfies become a way to call to the world about who we are and a commanding
representation of self. Because the immediacy, ubiquity and ephemerality of the social media, selfies
have embodied these characteristics and become instant, common and short lived. The characteristics
of new media is shaping the subjectivity of selfies. Moreover, devices functions are more
determinative than aesthetic conventions. Technologies offer people the power to edit selfies. People

Genres are not systems, they are a process of systematisation. (Neale 1980). Genres are both a method
of nomenclature, dividing literature according to its style, subject and context. Genre constantly re
imagines, challenges, and expands its boundaries to reflect zeitgeist of the society at the time and to
become a barometer of the social and cultural concerns of the audience. Likewise, crime fiction as a
genre has evolved from traditional conventions. Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window and Cornell
Woolrich s It had to be Murder, whilst obeying and selectively utilising a few original conventions,

In contrast, Lisa Fremont, Jefferies lover, whilst staying true to the convention of an intuitive, female
detective, also explores the role of female companions by acting as a physical extension for Jefferies.
She employs acts of sleuthing by bravely acquiring key evidence such as the wedding ring, while
disregarding her safety. The shot of Thorwald s violence against Lisa is captured with long shot
technique in the film Rear Window. This again reminds the audience that they are seeing through
Jefferies eyes and reinforces the need for a physical sidekick to assist the crippled immobile
protagonist. Hitchcock reflects on the late First Wave Feminism movement in the 1950s, by placing
women in more active and dominant roles when solving crimes, highlighting the growing roles of
women in society (Gender.cawater info.net, n.d.). Woolrich in his story, It Had to murder, replaces

Schools Have A New Meaning On Sexism And Double Standards
Schools have put a new meaning on sexism and double standards. An example of this is having double
standards and sexism towards the dress codes. Students who have families well known or the student
is well liked by the teachers, do not receive the same punishment for breaking the dress code as an
ordinary student. This demonstrates that schools are not fair in setting rules for dress codes. Particular
students are allowed to wear certain clothing, whereas other students are punished for wearing similar
clothing. Schools have double standards as to what is appropriate and what appears to be revealing
and how the following student should be punished. Maggie Sunseri produced a video that led to a
change in her school s dress code exemplifying why schools should be equal, unbiased, and unsexist
when setting and enforcing the dress codes.
Schools have dress codes that are biased and gender specific towards women. For example, if a male
student were to break dress code they would be told to fix the problem; however, a female student
would have more serious consequences. Female students would have a call to parents for a change of
clothing or would be sent home because administrators find this to be a distraction to the male
students. School administrators do not see the effect the unjust, biased school dress codes have on the
female students. The dress codes cause students to feel self conscious, and Maggie Sunseri, a student
from Woodford High, has been a victim of dress code

The Non Delegation Doctrine ( Administrative Law )
To start off, one must explain what a full Democracy entails. The Greek word meaning demo means
citizen while kratos means ruled, therefore, the full meaning of democracy is ruled by the citizen(s).
With that being said, a complete democracy would entail citizens directly voting on every piece of
legislation. When citizens can partly vote of legislation and/or they vote in representatives to represent
their interest, it is no longer a pure democracy but rather a democratic republic. A bureaucracy is not
consistent with a democratic republic in one regard: the citizen did not vote to elect him/her into
employment within the government. On the contrary, the citizens did have a right to vote the
representatives that chose to delegate tasks to an agency, which brings me to my next point: the Non
Delegation Doctrine (Administrative Law book). The Non Delegation Doctrine is a strict ideological
belief system that entails that elected officials cannot delegate powers to non elected officials, thereby
making the creation any sort of bureaucratic agency not possible. In a 1928 Supreme Court case
named J. W. Hampton, Jr. Co. v. United States (Administrative Law book) . The Supreme Court
decided that elected officials cannot delegate power to an unelected source unless they provide an
intelligible principle to regulate by. Even with the Supreme Court upholding the characteristics of the
decision of the 1928 Supreme Court case, in an absolute, pure Democracy, a bureaucratic agency

Jesus Miraculous Birth, The Gospel Of Mark Essay
Though Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, it seems to be the most action packed of them all.
Mark also tells the events in more of a chronological order than the other gospels. Skipping the story
of Jesus miraculous birth, the gospel of Mark begins with verse one proclaiming that Jesus Christ is
the Son of God, then continues straight to John the Baptist preaching and preparing the people for the
coming of the Messiah. Only nine verses into the opening chapter, Jesus enters the scene. He is
coming to be baptized by John. After coming up out of the water, the heavens are opened. In Mark
1:11, God speaks from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Here we
learn from the Father himself that Jesus of Nazareth is truly the Son of God. Jesus soon goes on to call
his disciples and begins teaching with authority. People quickly hear about Jesus message, his
miracles, and who he claims to be. In Mark 1:23, Jesus confronts a man with an unclean spirit. Mark
1:24 says, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to
destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. Again, in Mark 3:11 unclean spirits fall

  • 3. Aspiration Pneumonia Essay Introduction Background and Significance Dysphagia is a swallowing disorder that is described as an abnormality in transferring a solid or liquid bolus from the oral cavity to the stomach (Bernard, Loeslie, Rabatin, 2015). With a diagnosis of dysphagia, a patient will likely aspirate foods and/or liquids of different consistencies. Aspiration is the entry of food or liquid into the airway below the true vocal folds (Logemann, 1998, p. 5). Specifically, thin liquid dysphagia occurs when a patient aspirates while consuming any liquids that are not thickened, such as water. Patients with thin liquid dysphagia are often prescribed a modified thickened liquid only diet, meaning they consume liquids that are thickened to a greater consistency of nectar, honey, or pudding (Carlaw et al., 2007). An increased viscosity reduces the flow rate of a bolus, makes it more cohesive, and is easier for many people to control intraorally, thus preventing spillage into the airway (Murray, Miller, Doeltgen, Scholten, 2013). Dysphagia can also contribute to the occurrence of aspiration pneumonia. Aspiration pneumonia occurs when organisms infiltrate the lower respiratory tract during an episode of aspiration and the ... Initially, the purpose of the FWP was to increase compliance of patients on modified diets; however, more recently, researchers are claiming the positive outcomes of increased hydration levels (Bernard et al, 2015). • 4. Soccer Vs Football Compare And Contrast Soccer vs. Football Soccer and Football have long been high class sports with ample amount of respect and dignity, groomed through history. Regulations and guidelines have been set in stone and shifted throughout the course of competition. Safety is key in both recreational sports and has become essential for the protection of the people that participate. Stylistically the two sports contain a different overall goal, however the techniques vary. From a beginners point of view the sports seem derived from a primary source, however in the overall scheme they differentiate through many different loop holes. These differences will be depicted throughout the essay, allowing the reader to grasp a better understanding of the sports as a whole. The official rules of soccer were founded in England ( A Brief History of Soccer ). The brutality of the sport grew over time as the games overall principles were toyed with, causing more injuries and controversy with higher powers in England, during the ruling of King Edward, resulting in expulsion and arrest if caught participating in the sport ( A Brief History of Soccer ). • 5. Summary Of Animalistic Desire By D. H. Lawrence D.H Lawrence s ideas of love and interpersonal attraction are nothing if not polarizing. His distillation of love to an animalistic desire can be seen as either the height or death of romanticism. One may argue that such uncontrollable hormonal puppeteering undermines the human element of restraint or a more noble idea of love as unique companionship. In a sense, Lawrence challenges the notion of separation between and the beasts; he suggests the protestant fueled traditions of courtship are not a sign of human elevation, but a convolution of instinct that is as primal as the lust of thirst. However, Lawrence may also represent the life of romanticism, shaping such animal drive into the current of a more galvanistic construct of romance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Early conflict, before grandiose confrontations of love, is found when Dr. Fergusson considers the contradictions he feels for the town he works and lives in. Walking through the dreary countryside he muses: It wore him out, but at the same time he had a craving for it. It was a stimulant to him to be in the homes of the working people, moving as it were through the innermost body of their life. His nerves were excited and gratified. He could come so near, into the very lives of the rough, inarticulate, powerfully emotional men and women. He grumbled, he said he hated the hellish hole. But as a matter of fact it excited him, the contact with the rough, strongly feeling people was a stimulant applied direct to his nerves. (237) His love hate relationship stems from two conflicting inner personalities. The first Fergusson is a man of medicine, sophisticated and reasonable. He is repulsed by downtrodden town, seeing it as the antithesis of all that his education represents. The second man is a reaction to the discipline and restraint required to create the first emotional, craving excitement, and attracted to the simplicity and assertiveness of uneducated people. The conflicts between the doctor s opposing sides are soon mirrored in his blooming, although sudden, romance. Initially, the logical side of Dr. Fergusson views Mabel as simply his friend s sister, willing to strike up polite conversation, yet hesitant at her dangerous eyes that always ... Thoroughbreds also have a unique style of how they are built and how they (Blocksdorf n.p.). • 11. The Role Of Capitalism In Colonial America What allowed America its prosperity? Riddled with hurricanes, tribal warfare, harsh winters, and other difficulties, it seems like colonial America should ve been decimated without constant support from Great Britain. And with benign negligence from Great Britain, Colonial America started to understand they could in fact hold their own as a group of colonies, but not without vast intellectual and economic innovation and progress to overcome the disasters of famine, weather, and the wild nature of the American continent. Colonial America saw these dangers and knew there was a need for a system to gather the most food and provide the most work; that system came to be known as capitalism after socialist like communes failed their colonies. It is important to understand where American colonies started during their settlement. Capitalism wasn t created out of thin air by the Americans, and they certainly didn t start out with the system from the beginning. In fact, the first American settlements in the early 1600s were set up with a communal stock of foodstuffs and with all land being publically owned; settlers were to take what they needed from these stocks of food and return what they could return, while the food was supplied by land worked on by all. However, this system rapidly decayed its subjects, leaving the colonies with no food. This is because when there is no incentive to work more food, profit, land, et cetera people do not work. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect of decision making including coming up with ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing directives (Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build up proper decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision making processes is a significant text for them. In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of multiple courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006). Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their jobs (Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive relationship with organisational outcomes. Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant differences of global management culture are demonstrated. For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more when they progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global management should be aware of differences in culture. Moreover, real life decision making makes more sense than people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and Westley, 2001). Intuition To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the data or information in the world cannot trump the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one s gut instinct, feeling as well as intuition (Matzler et al., 2007). This shows how Japan infact did have a problem with America s behavior and was trying to stop it, because it was not fair for them. Overall, if America had kept their Pacific Fleet in the same place, it would have been harder for Japan to start war with them and actually fulfil their wishes of not having America controlling them with such things as trade, and actually much more... Some people might say the war couldn t be stopped because Japan already had a lot on western imperialism, however, sure they did not agree with it but they wanted to stay pure and isolated, so they didn t really care what was happening outside of Japan. Once again, document B states, Japan believed in isolationism until pressured by the United States to open itself up to trade . America caused Japan to be disrupted and brought the war on themselves. To conclude, if The U.S. didn t mess with Japan to start off, there wouldn t have been a war because Japan did not care about the United States until then. Lastly, if America stopped ... The Four Noble Truths Of Buddhism Alyssa Hayes Professor Wayne Knight 2/27/2017 Hum 10 Tuesday Buddhism The four noble truths The Buddhists strongly believed in the four noble truths which are the foundation of Buddhism. The first noble truth, is the truth of suffering or (dukkha). The Pali word dukkha can be described using the term temporary . Things that are painful and things that are pleasurable are considered dukkha because they are temporary and do not last forever. In relation to human life, Buddhists believe that life itself is not permanent and neither are we as humans. The second noble truth is the reason behind suffering which is a craving or (tanha). For example, in loving kindness meditation you can radiate feeling of love in all directions. You project your feelings of love north, south, east and west. May all beings be safe, happy, healthy and live joyously. Buddhists use this type of meditation to train their minds to be kinder. The goal is to develop feelings of love and kindness not only to others but towards yourself. There are three main techniques: mantras which are phrases that you repeat internally. Visualization, where you actually create an image in your mind of a person you are thinking of or yourself, smiling happily. And reflection, where you can think of qualities or actions that are good. Mediation is of much importance to Buddhism. Buddha himself attained enlightenment through means of meditation. But attaining enlightenment is not the only reason for meditation, many Buddhists use it to purify their minds. Buddha said, He who is mentally concentrated, see s things according to reality. Chanting Chanting is the traditional way of preparing one s mind for mediation. Some Buddhists use chanting for purposes of rituals. Buddhism does not consider ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She starts describing Muhammad s rising success as a skilled and respected politician; Armstrong mentions that the Christian world has always judged this part of the prophet s life with distrust. The Western view has traditionally seen Muhammad s political success as proof that he was an impostor using religion as a means to power. To explain this attitude, Armstrong offers the following insight: Because the Christian world is dominated by the image of the crucified Jesus, who said that his kingdom was not of this world, we tend to see failure and humiliation as the hallmark of a religious leader. We do not expect our spiritual heroes to achieve a dazzling success in mundane terms. (p. 164) Armstrong depicts Muhammad (saw) in glowing colors, even when she admits his wrongdoings. Revenge can, in fact, be an action that causes conflicts between people, resulting in misfortune. For Rapunzel s biological parents, it was absolutely devastating to them that they had to give up their only child that they waited for what seemed like forever. They did this to avoid a harsh punishment from the evil witch. If it weren t for Rapunzel s greedy Mother wanting rampion that she was craving, and her attempting to be sneaky Father stealing from the witch, Rapunzel could ve still been with them (31). This is not to say that I am the smartest person or anything but it still seems like adults, some having obtained several college degrees, would stop to think before they opened their mouths. That these geniuses would put down their own personal views and beliefs long enough to see the clear and logical answer. Instead, they are clouded by their ingrained thought and thus cannot give an unbiased opinion. Julius R. Oppenheimer is a perfect example. This exemplary theoretical physicist and scholar was man was quoted by theologian and philosopher Francis Schaeffer as saying: Christianity is just a person s personal belief, while modern science is a fact. Christians should not press their beliefs upon their society. I cannot begin to state how much this statement boggles my mind. He not only states that his personal beliefs or lack thereof, are proof against Christianity but that the unproven scientific theories that he holds are fact. The argument here is not against his beliefs but against his unwaveringness towards those of others. His statement that Christianity is just a personal belief is quite true. However this is what I find to be utterly ridiculous: Oppenheimer doesn t even leave room for a person s personal belief to also be the truth; he wants it to stay a fairytale invented to make us idiots happy. • 34. Comparing Women In Beowulf And Sir Gawain The women in Beowulf, The Wife of Bath, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight all hold very important roles within these works. At first glance when reading these works the women do not appear to be significant characters, or even worth stopping to give a second thought to. The medieval landscape, as viewed through the eyes of scholars, was hardly populated by women. Particularly, young unmarried women or maidens have been paid little attention . (Phillips) However these women, and the roles they posses can tell us a great deal about how women were regarded by society during these time periods. Looking at these three tales, and comparing the roles the women take on within these works presents us with a variety of contrasting roles. The women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the form of the work, the presentation of these women is purposefully symmetrical, inviting comparisons and contrasts. Those women who act as hostesses and peaceweavers, even while looking out for their own interests, are central to the poem, and an understanding of the functions of the women in Beowulf assists the comprehension of a complex poem. Those women presented as monsters, the hostile hostesses and strifeweavers, are interesting in themselves, and also serve as counter examples to the other female characters. A thorough investigation of the relationships between the women and their men uncovers possibilities of a matrilineal undercurrent in the culture of Beowulf, which may indicate a dim memory of a pagan Germanic past for the Anglo Saxon poet. Though they are all defined by the men that they are close to, either sons, fathers, or brothers, none of the women in Beowulf are marginal or excluded. (Gillian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. New Medi New Digital Age Living in a new digital age, we are seeing more computerized devices like smartphone and computers replacing old media technologies like newspaper, radio and television. Characteristics of new media as being digital, computerized, interactive and hypersexual have shaped new forms of communication. Meanwhile, the ability of new media to merge different forms of media technologies, industries and services so called convergence has also created unprecedented transformations in the society. In this paper, I argue that new media has contributed to all aspects of the paradigm shift. As it is constantly remediating its predecessors, it shapes new modes of subjectivity and changes the way we perceive knowledge. Although these changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, new media is reproducing itself through different old technologies. Not only new media is remediating its predecessors, it also shapes new modes of subjectivity. Subjectivity means the process of being a subject; it refers to who we are to how we react to the world. The emergence of new media has unprecedentedly change the subjectivity of different things. For example, we are experiencing new forms of textual experiences and representations such as genre, form and consumption. There are new forms of embodiment and identity that change how we perceive ourselves and our bodies. Organization also changes the rules of ownership, control, regulation. These subjectivities are all being reshaped due to the change of our relationship with technologies. The example discussed in lecture is subjectivity related to selfies. Media technologies has created selfies which are these self portraits taken by phones that gets uploaded to social media. It is a convergence of technology, interaction and body. Selfies become a way to call to the world about who we are and a commanding representation of self. Because the immediacy, ubiquity and ephemerality of the social media, selfies have embodied these characteristics and become instant, common and short lived. The characteristics of new media is shaping the subjectivity of selfies. Moreover, devices functions are more determinative than aesthetic conventions. Technologies offer people the power to edit selfies. People ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Comparing Rear Window And Cornell Woolrich s It Had To Be... Genres are not systems, they are a process of systematisation. (Neale 1980). Genres are both a method of nomenclature, dividing literature according to its style, subject and context. Genre constantly re imagines, challenges, and expands its boundaries to reflect zeitgeist of the society at the time and to become a barometer of the social and cultural concerns of the audience. Likewise, crime fiction as a genre has evolved from traditional conventions. Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window and Cornell Woolrich s It had to be Murder, whilst obeying and selectively utilising a few original conventions, manifest the ideology and social concerns of the postwar 1950s society in aspects of the modus operandi of the investigation, gender roles and the shift ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In contrast, Lisa Fremont, Jefferies lover, whilst staying true to the convention of an intuitive, female detective, also explores the role of female companions by acting as a physical extension for Jefferies. She employs acts of sleuthing by bravely acquiring key evidence such as the wedding ring, while disregarding her safety. The shot of Thorwald s violence against Lisa is captured with long shot technique in the film Rear Window. This again reminds the audience that they are seeing through Jefferies eyes and reinforces the need for a physical sidekick to assist the crippled immobile protagonist. Hitchcock reflects on the late First Wave Feminism movement in the 1950s, by placing women in more active and dominant roles when solving crimes, highlighting the growing roles of women in society (Gender.cawater info.net, n.d.). Woolrich in his story, It Had to murder, replaces both Lisa and Stella with a male character Sam. This delineating adherence to traditional gender roles, disregarding the value of female intuition.. Whilst Rear Window employs the conventional characterisation of females in Golden Age crime fiction, It Had to be Murder subverts these, adhering to the traditional roles, reflecting resistance to female rights in ... • 37. Schools Have A New Meaning On Sexism And Double Standards Schools have put a new meaning on sexism and double standards. An example of this is having double standards and sexism towards the dress codes. Students who have families well known or the student is well liked by the teachers, do not receive the same punishment for breaking the dress code as an ordinary student. This demonstrates that schools are not fair in setting rules for dress codes. Particular students are allowed to wear certain clothing, whereas other students are punished for wearing similar clothing. Schools have double standards as to what is appropriate and what appears to be revealing and how the following student should be punished. Maggie Sunseri produced a video that led to a change in her school s dress code exemplifying why schools should be equal, unbiased, and unsexist when setting and enforcing the dress codes. Schools have dress codes that are biased and gender specific towards women. For example, if a male student were to break dress code they would be told to fix the problem; however, a female student would have more serious consequences. Female students would have a call to parents for a change of clothing or would be sent home because administrators find this to be a distraction to the male students. School administrators do not see the effect the unjust, biased school dress codes have on the female students. The dress codes cause students to feel self conscious, and Maggie Sunseri, a student from Woodford High, has been a victim of dress code ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Non Delegation Doctrine ( Administrative Law ) To start off, one must explain what a full Democracy entails. The Greek word meaning demo means citizen while kratos means ruled, therefore, the full meaning of democracy is ruled by the citizen(s). With that being said, a complete democracy would entail citizens directly voting on every piece of legislation. When citizens can partly vote of legislation and/or they vote in representatives to represent their interest, it is no longer a pure democracy but rather a democratic republic. A bureaucracy is not consistent with a democratic republic in one regard: the citizen did not vote to elect him/her into employment within the government. On the contrary, the citizens did have a right to vote the representatives that chose to delegate tasks to an agency, which brings me to my next point: the Non Delegation Doctrine (Administrative Law book). The Non Delegation Doctrine is a strict ideological belief system that entails that elected officials cannot delegate powers to non elected officials, thereby making the creation any sort of bureaucratic agency not possible. In a 1928 Supreme Court case named J. W. Hampton, Jr. Co. v. United States (Administrative Law book) . The Supreme Court decided that elected officials cannot delegate power to an unelected source unless they provide an intelligible principle to regulate by. Even with the Supreme Court upholding the characteristics of the decision of the 1928 Supreme Court case, in an absolute, pure Democracy, a bureaucratic agency ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Jesus Miraculous Birth, The Gospel Of Mark Essay Though Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, it seems to be the most action packed of them all. Mark also tells the events in more of a chronological order than the other gospels. Skipping the story of Jesus miraculous birth, the gospel of Mark begins with verse one proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, then continues straight to John the Baptist preaching and preparing the people for the coming of the Messiah. Only nine verses into the opening chapter, Jesus enters the scene. He is coming to be baptized by John. After coming up out of the water, the heavens are opened. In Mark 1:11, God speaks from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Here we learn from the Father himself that Jesus of Nazareth is truly the Son of God. Jesus soon goes on to call his disciples and begins teaching with authority. People quickly hear about Jesus message, his miracles, and who he claims to be. In Mark 1:23, Jesus confronts a man with an unclean spirit. Mark 1:24 says, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. Again, in Mark 3:11 unclean spirits fall before him and say, Thou art the Son of God ; and in Mark 5:7 they call him Jesus, Son of the most high God. Even the demons know who Jesus is and they fear him. As Jesus continues to gain popularity among the people, he is given many other titles. In Mark 6:3 the people of Nazareth call him ...
