How Influential Enoch Was On The Apostolic Fathers
A comparison between 1 Enoch and New Testament follows. The purpose is to demonstrate how
influential Enoch was on the Apostolic Fathers.

The Issue Of Abortion On The United States
As Sam Brownback once quoted, Unborn children do not have a voice, but they are young members
of the human family. It is time to look at the unborn child, and recognize that it is really a young
human, who can feel pain and should be treated with care. In America alone, more than half of
pregnancies among American woman are unintended, and about seven out of ten of these 500,000
unintended pregnancies are terminated by abortion each year in America. In today s modern
American culture, many consider an unborn fetusa non life form; however, an unborn fetus
possesses many, if not all, characteristics of life. The issue of abortion in the United States has been
one that has courted controversy and created a public, ethical, and moral division in our American
society and culture. Different opinions and views on this contraceptive subject has brought on
multitudinous moral and ethical arguments. Morally, many people in our modern culture believe
that if the mother of the unborn child has certain mental issues or health issues, it is suitable for
that mother to terminate the life of her unborn child for the better health of the baby and for the
mother herself. However; once an unborn fetus is aborted, the symptoms after an abortion have
long term and lasting impacts on the mother that can worsen the mother s health and mental
stability. After an abortion, many mothers have experienced extreme sadness and anger, periods of
long term depression and regret, and some have

Advantages Of Remote Corrosion Monitoring
Advantages of remote corrosion monitoring There are a variety of remote corrosion monitoring
systems that enable maintenance personel and plant operators to get accurate measurements of
corrosion activity wirelessly hence delivering significant cost benefits. The remote solutions
collect and transmit the data from remote as well as hazardous locations and does not require
running wires between the control room and the location. Amongs the benefits of remote
corrosion are Almost all types of corrosion can be monitored Saving on time and costs, the remote
corrosion monitoring leads to more productivity, reliability and profitability. Enables the company
to obtain and utilize corroion data from hazadous location, remote locations or other inaccessible
areas due to high cost of wiring. Majority of the systems and transmitters are easy to install and
takes only a few minutes, making it possible to get the information back to the control systems,
quickly. The remote moniroting systems provides a flexible means to monitor corrosion in
applications; Where it is difficult to reach some of the parts or areas Remote locations
There is no access to power Require frequent reconfiguring Locations where corrosion
monitoring has been previously performed manually Monitor the effectiveness of the corrosion
protection method such as the CP any time, from anywhere and using either desktop or mobile

changes to keep up with new demand for protection. New laws are constantly being introduced to
keep Australians safe and stamp out home grown terrorism. Over the last few years preventative
detention orders and control orders have been introduced in an attempt to reduce the risk of attacks
on Australian soil. Stricter anti terrorism laws have made the wider community feel safer, however,
is it possible that these laws have compromised human rights of certain individual?

Football Mascot Analysis
Sweat dripping down from faces, nasty pads being thrown out and replaced along with the ripped
pants. The smell of cleats reeking along with the molded mouth guards and practice jerseys. This
is what is known as the first day of football tryouts. All the little ones gather around their friends
eager like it is Christmas morning ready to be running around and hitting people. Each one brought
up to know the nothing but live, breathe, sleep lifestyle of football. But not everyone knows that
lifestyle. There is that one kid who is left out and ends up being the mascot every year keeping his
teammates positive and happy while occasionally bringing them water when needed. The players

After consulting, the coach found out his reasoning being, when he played as a child, they did
not have all the gear to entirely be safe and this worried the dad that the same thing would happen
to his son. But because football has changed and teaches kids to stay in shape and learn life skills
such as sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, and teamwork, parents should take the risk and let
their kids play the game.
By participating in football people can learn sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, and teamwork.
Considering the many lessons it teaches, teamwork and discipline play the main role. With
teamwork, players/children are learning how to trust their teammates the more experience they
have with each other. As for discipline, it teaches kids to work hard and set good goals which
can be helpful for them in the future as opposed to not playing, and being a step behind. NFL
expert Jobe Lewis says that football requires a pretty unique brand of teamwork and requires the
player to discipline himself and to work hard (Lewis 1).

John De Crevecoeur And Phillis Wheatley The Seduction Of...
For J. Hector St. John De CrГЁvecoeur and Phillis Wheatley the seduction of freedom was strong
enough to have a hold over them throughout their lives. They express obtaining or wanting
independence through writing about certain myths of American culture and identity. This idea of
unfiltered, unbiased liberty saturates images of America. Even before it officially became a
gaggle of nations, North America was known as a wide open space full of possibilities.
CrГЁvecoeur and Wheatley want the opportunity of self determination, but it comes easier for one
and with more complications for the other. Wheatley has the added disadvantage of her race and
gender, while CrГЁvecoeur comes to these lands with all possibilities open and within reach. These
outstanding factors affect the way these two write about American identity. CrГЁvecoeur s Letters
of An American Farmer: What is an American and various poems by Wheatley comment on the
experience of being an American and share a critique on oppression, but there is a dichotomy in
their specific views of the American Dreamand the Self Made Man due to their different positions in
society.
The American Dream is the idea that every person should have an equal opportunity to achieve
success. CrГЁvecoeur and Wheatley do not explicitly reiterate this definition, but the idea
permeates their writings. In Letters of an American Famer CrГЁvecoeur writes, we are the most
perfect society now existing in the world. Here man is free as he ought to be

Moon Stone Research Paper
Shelton Hawkins Jr. English 3 Pd. 5 Mrs. Ermanni 12 May 2017 Moonstone In mostly all of the
19th century the social ranking of an individual is what set them apart from others. An example
of something that would show a high social rank would be one s jewelry. Back in the Victorian
age the most precious thing an individual could have was jewelry. John Plotz says, On the one
hand, through jewelry one establishes a sense of personal worth and identity. On the other hand,
jewelry s very elegance lies in its impersonality (Plotz 26). Anything that could easily be
transported was also very important to the Victorians. Victorians were the first people to so closely

Rama Vs Odyssey
Realism versus Perfection:
Throughout history, different cultures have created heroes as representations of the ideals that
these cultures value. Often times these heroes have very little or no flaws, such is the case with
the Hindu hero Rama. On the other hand, some heroes have many virtuous attributes to them,
while still containing flaws, creating a more realistic and achievable hero, such as with Odysseus.
Both of these heroes represent the principles that were valued from their respective cultures of
origin; therefore, the heroes themselves are representations of the society during the time of their
(the heroes) creation. These heroes serve as guides to how the people of their respective cultures
try to lead their lives, which makes Perfect heroes problematic for people who try to follow their
actions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Odysseus and Rama are similar in the fact that they are both heroes who long to reunite
with their respective wives, the differences between them are clear. Odysseus is a very flawed
character, which allows modern readers to relate to him easier than Rama, who is nearly perfect in
every aspect, and serves more as an idealization of how to behave in Hindu culture, rather than a
realistic and relatable hero. Despite their differences, both heroes share a common journey.
Odysseus s journey takes place after the war, with Odysseus choosing to fight in the war for ten
years, voluntarily leaving his family behind. Likewise, Rama chose to accept his fourteen year
exile out of respect to his father, despite his family and community begging him to stay and rule as
king. However, Odysseus causes the prolonging of his return home, due to his arrogance after
outsmarting Polyphemus, whereas Ravana kidnapping Sita prolonged and increased the difficulty
of Rama s exile. Another similarity between the two stems from the divine forces that helped them
along their journeys. Rama, being a reincarnation of the god Vishnu, has a

different ideas and thoughts has led to a population that s dominated by the majority . We live in a
society where a media, television and internet are the sources of manipulating a person s mind. It
also creates their mindset to determine how one think about themselves or and different view point

argument about how to be individual and not let government take control over your lives. Ralph

It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. The only obligation
which I have a right to assume is to do at any time what I think right. It is truly enough said that a
corporation has no conscience; but a corporation of conscientious men is a corporation with a
conscience.(127) And in Self Reliance by Emerson: To believe your own thought, to believe
that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius. (109) To develop
into an individual is to make every choice based upon your own personal belief, no matter what
society says, and to act upon your belief . Emerson thought that all great works were products of
individualism and self reliance, claiming that: In every work of genius we recognize our own
rejected thoughts: they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty. Great works of art have
no more affecting lesson for us than this. They teach us to abide by our spontaneous impression
with good humored inflexibility then most when the whole cry of voices is on the other side.
Else, to morrow a stranger will say with masterly good sense precisely what we have thought and
felt all the time, and we shall be forced to take with shame our own opinion from another. (109)
Emerson considered individuality as doing whatever he wanted and ignoring what the people think,
which we can find in his words: What I must do is all that concerns me, not

In Greek, Helen was Menelaus wife until Paris took her back to Troy. Because she was not fairly
obtained as a prize through battle, Paris is that man [who] robbed / of [Menelaus ] sumptuous,

alike, so when Helen was stolen, it was an insult to Menelaus pride. Had he done nothing about it,
then the Greeks would be cowards for not fighting to claim back what was rightfully theirs, and
letting anyone step over them and casually taking things from them. A war on pride was fought
between Achilles and Agamemnon when Agamemnon took Briseis in all her beauty, [Achilles ]

The Touch
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
There s a thin line between entertaining your audience with a gambling demo, and boring them into
abysmal submission. Personally, I ve always found that when the magician continually wins, the
audience gets tired quickly. Let s face it; no one likes losing! It s human nature.
Therefore, this routine is designed to make your audience believe like they can win every time, no
matter which game you play. Furthermore, the power of this routine is not about the astronomical
odds of receiving a winning hand in a called upon position like so many gambling demos. More
important, it s about empowering someone in your audience with the genuine feeling of having a

Simply start overhand shuffling the pack, bringing the Royal Flush stack of cards from the bottom

this insures that you don t disturb your stack. It also guarantees that your audience member receives
the proper cards in the end.
Deal out two hands of five cards, each. Quickly turn over your Poker hand displaying that you
have no more than a pair (sometimes even less). Now your audience member turns their poker
hand over, and proudly shows that they have received a royal flush.
While looking into the audience member s eyes, calmly extend your hand to shake their hand in a

Henry Viii Influence
Literature has become the most important factor in the construction of the English monarchy. It
has become the way in which people communicate and share their ideas throughout the world.
English literature is the essential piece in ruling a country and determining the future for that
country. In England, English literature has evolved through a number of versions due to the
changes made to the policies and laws, religion, culture, and the monarchy. Henry VIII was born
on June 28, 1491 by Elizabeth of York and Henry VII at Greenwich Palace (BBC News). In his
early age, he was very interested in the arts and enjoyed reading literature. In 1509, Henry VIII
succeeded his father Henry VII (1457 1509), but had originally become heir to the throne after his
older brother, Prince Arthur, died in 1502 (Henry VIII (r.1509 1547)). He reigned during the
House of Tudor monarchy when he was only eighteen years old until he died in 1547, having
Edward VI succeed him. Throughout his years of reign, he married six women including: Catherine
of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr. In
1527, Henry divorced Catherine of Aragon, since she could no longer conceive children, and
became infatuated with Anne Boleyn (Henry s Divorce). This decision led to the English Protestant
Reformation which were a series of events...[in] which the Church of England broke away from the
authority of the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church (English Reformation).

Neolithic Revolution Or Agricultural Revolution

Parolin, 7th hour
AP World History

Neolithic Government
Around 12,000 years ago the Neolithic or Agricultural Revolution began. This period started after
the end of the last ice age. The Neolithic Revolution brought the first organized government. The
Neolithic Revolution made government essential because there was a need to organize the more
expansive population, large construction projects, and trade with other Neolithic Villages.
During the Neolithic Revolution not only did the amount of surplus food grow, but so did the
population creating a need for organization from a leader or some sort of government. According
to scholars, the world s population 10,000 years ago was a microscopic 6 million people. By
comparison there are 6 billion people estimated on Earth today. The population then grew to
about 50 million people by 5,000 years ago. What took place during those 5,000 years? The
agricultural revolution began just about 12,000 years ago or 10,000 B.C.E. During that time the
last ice age ended, creating a more stable environment for growing crops and domesticating
animals. The domestication of plants and animals created a surplus of food compared to the
amount of food in gathering and hunting societies. An abundance of food allowed more people to
live in each village. An example of population growth in a Neolithic Village is the early
agricultural settlement of Jericho located in present day Israel. Jericho was uncovered by

Dr. Ben Carson The sound of tearing cloth and a twisted metal sound resonates in his head. The
knife had bit into his friend when he lashed out toward his friend over the use of a simple radio.
He felt as light as a feather as he ran home from the scene of the crime. Inside his closet he
clutches a bible. After wiping his tears away the young child looks down to the bible, opens it,
and reads Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a
city Proverbs 16:32 (CEB). (Ben Carson Bio.com) His anger and fear subsides from his fit of rage
where he tried to stab his friend. Benjamin Solomon Carson at this time was a young frustrate
boy who needed help and found it through the bible. He was lucky that the knife had hit his
friend s belt buckle just right so that the boy was unharmed. This experience, which he considers
a miracle, turned a young unruly boy onto a completely different path of life. Dr. Ben Carson
has become someone of great stature and an icon to all people struggling in the United States.
He is a true example of how someone can come from a life of poverty and hate to a life of love.
Dr. Carson had his defining moment at a very young age. Along with moment was an extremely

The Assassination Of President Abraham Lincoln Essay
One of the most tragic moments throughout all American history in my opinion is the Assassination
of President Abraham Lincoln. With no surprise I am writing about certain event that occurred
leading up to, during, and after this unfortunate event. This historical event is clouded with
conspiracy but I will try to avoid specifics of that particular view. Abraham Lincolnwas born in a
little town located within Hardin Country, Kentucky on February 12, 1809
(www.whitehouse.gov/abrahamlincoln). He grew up dirt poor and in my opinion could be
considered a frontiers man just like his father was. His mother on the other hand passed away
when Lincoln was at a very young age. Lincoln was also in my opinion of great intelligence, hard
worker, and a very ambitious young man. He would farm and run a store in New Salem, Illinois
(www.whitehouse.gov). A little less known tale about him is that he was a very good wrestler
back in the day and received his nick name honest Abe for walking a library book several miles
to be returned. He met the love of his life May Todd after becoming a dynamic lawyer and had
four young boys. Sadly only one lived to see adult hood (www.history.com). Abraham Lincoln
became the 16th President of the United Statesof America in 1861. At this time the states where not
so united. As a matter of fact 13 of them had succeeded from the union in the same year President
Lincoln was elected (1861). The historical significance of this time was known as the

Letter From Birmingham Jail Act
In April 1963, the city of Birmingham, Alabama, was caught in the midst of massive civil rights
protests. Protestors advocating for desegregation brought the city to a halt with widespread
disruptive yet peaceful protests. After a circuit court placed an injunction against protesting,
parading and picketing King was arrested for his involvement. While in jail King received a letter
written by eight Alabama clergymen criticizing King for his disruptive protests and the breaking of
laws which lead to his arrest. In response King wrote an open letter explaining his actions that
would be known as Letter from Birmingham Jail. In his letter Dr. King effectively addresses an
unsympathetic audience by focusing on building his credibility rather than seeking an emotional
response.
The largest challenge Dr. King faced in writing his response was that his audience did not respect
him. As a result of the laws he devoted himself to protest, Dr. King was a second class citizen. To
the white clergymen he was addressing he was both socially and legally inferior. The feeling of
supremacy that the clergymen, and many other whites, had toward blacks at the time made them
largely unsympathetic to their plight. To avoid appearing pitiful or even pathetic he maintains a
calm and authoritative tone. Even though the clergymen were harshly critical of his activities and
methods King responds in a collected manner I feel that [...] your criticisms are sincerely set forth,

Evaluating KuhnВґs Theory of Scientific Development Essay
Introduction
The scientific revolution started in the 16th and 17th century with development of the scientific
theories (Hatch, n.d.). These Scientific theories are detailed explanation of some aspect of the
natural world, based on knowledge that has been repeatedly duplicated through observation and
experimental procedures. The understanding or the attempt to understand the human s perspective
of the world through scientific theories is the birth to the philosophy of science (Okasha, 2002).
Several perspectives of scientific theories have been postulated by many on the history and
philosophy of science. One of such is the Kuhn theory of science development postulated by
Thomas Kuhn. His theory brought about a new perspective where ... Show more content on

Each paradigm starts as a normal science which goes through consensus verification by the science
community through scientific analysis, constructive criticism and scientific induction. Kuhn view
is clearly illustrated in his book the structure of scientific revolution. He traced the origin of his
thesis to a moment in 1947 when he was working toward a doctorate in physics at Harvard. James
B. Conant, the chemist who was the president of the university, had asked him to teach a class in
science for undergraduates majoring in the humanities (The Guardian, 2012). The lecture at the
time was on the history and development of science. While understudying Aristotle s Physics, he
realized how his concepts of motion were different from Newton s concepts of motion and matter.
Thomas Kuhn in his scientific model breaks down the history of development of science into three
stages which include normal of science, accumulation of anomaly and then the paradigm shift
(Kuhn, 1996). The normal period of science starts with the creation of an accepted boundary for
scientific findings by the science community called the paradigm. This paradigm provides objective
tools used by scientist to solve scientific problem thereby creating theories that fit within the
boundaries. Following this is the period of natural testing of the paradigm and expanding the
paradigm boundaries to

The Evolution of the Hokulea The story of the Hokulea, a model of the first canoes that brought
the first Polynesians to Hawaii, is a story that restores cultural pride and history to Hawaiians. Her
legacy was almost extinct, but survived and restored the relationship that society has with its island
home. More than 600 years had gone by without seeing one of these canoes, until artist Herb Kane
thought to build a sailing canoe just like the ones his ancestors sailed (Hokulea.com).
Polynesia was a massive country forming a triangle that stretched between New Zealand in the
west, Rapa Nui in the east, and Hawaii in the north. This triangle covered 10 million square
miles. It was discovered by these amazing people who were like the astronauts of the time,
because of their amazing exploration skills. Remarkably, these Polynesians arrived in Hawaii
1,000 years before Columbus sailed to the Americas. They were considered some of the greatest
explorers in all of history. These explorers were able to discover every livable land mass and
island in the Pacific, without the use of modern technology. All they had were canoes that were
very similar to the Hokulea. Polynesian explorers relied heavily on the stars, winds, waves, and
other signs from nature to navigate the ocean. Hawaii has a very historical and traditionally rooted
culture, and the Hokulea is the beginning and the very center of it. Hawaiians were able to develop
the islands and mastered the art of living sustainably.

Massachusetts And Kentucky s Temporary Assistance For...

1. What led to the success of Maine and Kentucky s Temporary Assistance to Needy families Post
Secondary Reform movements?
Maine is a small state that is not terribly diverse in it s population. Ethnic and racial minorities
make up just less that 2 percent of its population (U.S. Census Bureau). Maine has also been
considered one of the more poorer states. Maine s economy relies heavily on tourist seasons and
with a slow economy, unemployment, under employment and low paying jobs occur. (Price, 2005).
When is came to challenge the Temporary Assistance to Needy families reform movement, Maine
was the first state to successfully do so. Maine is state that is committed to education. Under the
Reagan administration there was a federal Work Incentive Demonstration project ,which allowed
women on welfare the chance to go to college, the state s advocates convinced the Department of
Human Services to take advantage of this program. Fortunately for Maine, the state tends to
promote accessibility to all citizens, which is not common amongst state welfare bureaucracies. The
advocates recognized that education was a way to get rid of poverty, not to mention empower
women and potentially stimulate their economy. Eventually, this demonstration came to be known
as ASPIRE. (Price, 2005).
Interestingly, the road to reform in Maine started when a woman overheard a

The Rolling Stone Redaction.
The Rolling Stone Redaction was the mistake waiting to happen as a result of journalistic
desperation on the Rolling Stones part, as the once iron clad story s eggshell are torn asunder
by the increasing lack of verifiability. Only to reveal a viscous trail with no clear substance. As
The Rolling Stone began on this path, they put aside safeguards that would normally have sent
the story to the bin, ignoring conflicting information from the other sources and only focusing on
the main. That is when they gathered from other sources, as the paper has a distinct lack of
transparency when it deals with the testimony of other people, with most coming from the one
source. Jackie, who as the facts stacked toward and against, had discrepancies in her story
tipping the scales away from believability, and into fantastical dreams. A story can have one
source that it draws heavily upon, however, there has to be evidence to go along with it. In the
aftermath with multiple sources coming up and stating facts contrary to the story, there has to be
the question of why Erdely did not contact them, which, while the answer has its credible
reasoning of not disturbing Jackie, the Rolling Stone should have reached them for comment, as
opposed to Jackie asking by proxy, adding a second hand account that could have and was, utterly
false. Prioritization also was an issue in this, while Erdely focused more on exposing the
University of Virginia for poor policy and rampant sexual crime, as opposed

The Value Of The Jaguar Essay
The jaguar is a highly known animal with notable affiliation in the Pre Columbian
Mesoamerican societies and belief systems. All major Mesoamerican cultures proudly presented
a jaguar god. Jaguars are known for their power and aggressive strength. They are great hunters
and one of the big cats that can tolerate water. Most information that is known about Mayan
culture and Mesoamerican societies comes from the countless and scrupulous findings on stone
monuments, murals, documents, adorned vases, and conventional sources, where we can
survey that the Maya carried out religious exercises with most of these objects. This is evident of
the Mayan jaguar lidded vessel from the Fresno Art Museum. Vessels are vases that were used
not for just funerary purposes, but also for rituals, offerings, and a plethora of other daily
activities. Other important details about jaguar symbolism in Mesoamerican cultures include the
fact that the word for jaguar, bahlam, appears in many of the names of Mayan kings than any
other animals. This is not surprising since the jaguar is the mighty emperor of crafty force.
Andrea Stone and Marc Zender state in their book, Reading Maya Art: A Hieroglyphic Guide to
Ancient Maya Paintings and Sculptures, that, The jaguars ferocity made it an ideal insignia of
warriors who wore jaguar parts to wear it like a badge of honor, whether it was the head, skin, tail,
or paws. To spread out jaguar skin was an expression for war, and

WWII Nazi medical experiments Essay The essay you will be reading about will contain how Nazi
science experiments were inhuman. There will be some experiments you will be reading that
actually occurred during WWII.
Nazi human experiments were a series of medical experiments done on large numbers of prisoners
most of them were Jewish and Jewish children were included too from Europe, but there were
some other races too such as Romani, Ethnic Poles, Soviet POWs and non Jewish Germans.
Caused by Nazi s in Germany in the concentration camps in the early 1940s during WWII and the

Once you read about some of the things they did to the people in their so called science
experiments is hard to believe that humans actually did that to other humans. Like there was one
where they were testing mustard gas burns. They exposed the people to it deliberately then once
they had the burns they would study them. Another one they were testing was head injury
experiments. They took this little boy about ten, eleven, or twelve and strapped him down to a
chair where he could not move and just above his head was a mechanized hammer that would
come down every few seconds and hit him on the head. Eventually he was driven insane. This isn t
even a science experiment this is pure torture. strapped him down to a chair where he could not

Worldview In Philip Pullman s The Golden Compass
Whether writers know it or not, their worldview seeps into their writing. An author s worldview
in his writing is similar to the way many people talk. They discuss their opinions openly. People
do not tend to hide their opinions, and they are proud of them and stand behind them. Authors
write their opinions in their books. The Golden Compass was written by Philip Pullman. His
books were written with a humanistic morality theme in mind rather than God s sovereignty and
knowledge. Pullman was an atheist, and his humanistic worldview was all through his books. He
disliked C.S. Lewis Christian allegories in Narnia. Michael Ward claims that Pullman evidently
cannot abide Lewis s religious worldview and is determined to provide the book buying public
with a story which contradicts it in all its essential points. J. R. R. Tolkien, another... Show more

Revelation 1:7 says Look, he is coming with the clouds, [a] and every eye will see him even

Amen. This verse clearly states that Jesus will return. Undoubtedly, Jesus was a source of life
and hope for the disciples. He used miracles to save hundreds of people s lives. Although Jesus
did not use a magic wand, He taught His disciples and healed cripples and lepers. Tolkien clearly
meant Gandalf to be a type of Christ. Gandalf s and Jesus s followers heavily relied upon their
leadership and protection. In the Bible, the Last Supper is reverently mentioned in all four of
the Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all record the Last Supper as the last meal that the

Ifrs And International Accounting Standards Board
In mainly everything, sports, class rooms, or work places you have a set of rules to go by. In the
accounting world, you must also follow a set of rules and standards. The Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (GAAP) or the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Most
countries around the world use IFRS while the United States uses GAAP. International Financial
Reporting Standardsand Generally Accepted Accounting Principles do things differently. Each
country s government sets which principles the accountants will use. There are also organizations
that have been formed to help with all the confusion between countries. The organizations are called
Financial Accounting Standards Board(FASB) and International Accounting Standards Board
(IASB). FASB is the organization that has been designed by the US government to establish
GAAP in the United States. IASB is the international organization developing and promoting
accounting standards to be used throughout the world. GAAP and IFRS are both accounting
principles but also have different regulations. The main difference is historical values for assets
and liabilities and current or market values. GAAP looks at the historical value while IFRS looks
at current or market values. US accountants are conservative and always look at the historical
value. Accountants using IFRS would look at the value of the land or house if it increased, even if
it is not sold, while GAAP would not look at the increasing value until it

This change can be best illustrated by comparison of Figures 1.1 and 1.2 in Appendix 1, wherein
the possible corporate structures may tend to three different values, i.e. cost, differentiation and
responsiveness; Spartan strategy has shifted its focus from a differentiation and responsive model
to a cost effective model.
Job shop method of production to Hybrid method.
The new corporate strategy implies re engineering from a job shop method of production to a hybrid
method of production. The former involved manufacturing operations with several departments,
each of which produced particular components whereas the latter being a flow operation where
multiple stations can work simultaneously. This will mainly allow Spartan to increase volume of
production, reduce lead time and it will further lead in cutting down the carrying cost of inventory,
even though the inventory will be high.
Change in Corporate Culture.
The new strategy will affect the corporate structure of the company. Earlier the work was based
on the specific requirements of the client and it was more of research based but now the focus on
research will be less and it will be more on general requirements. Therefore the type of work would
shift.
The present organizational chart of the SC Department in the company includes two buyers, one
material control clerk, one expeditor and two shipper/receivers. This structure was functional to the

The Impact Of Technology And Its Impact On The World
As the time goes on, technology becomes more popular and essential for most people s daily life.
Technology also becomes more dominant in every aspects on life such as working, studying, and
even doing housework. It has radically changed the way human interacts with the world; for
instance, people only communicated in person or through postal mails decades ago, and technology
helped changing the traditional communication style into a faster one through texting and instant
messaging. There are three perspectives on the impact of technology to humanity. First
perspective is about its positive contributions to the society for the past few years. It has shorten
many time consuming tasks that made us have scratched our heads when thinking about them.
Second perspective is about some cons of relying on technology too much such as becoming
more lazy and lacking of motivation of doing things as well as disconnecting from reality and
real people. The third perspective is about its uses for some people in developing countries.
Technology does not help them much since these people do not have enough money to afford it.
Therefore, its prohibited cost makes itself inaccessible in some countries. Technology actually has
made life better but relying on its automatic nature too much can lead to being enslaved for it. First
of all, I fully agree on the first perspective that technology has positively contributed a lot to the
society. It is growing rapidly in the recent years. That means

I Am An Best Candidate For This Program
I believe that I am an excellent candidate for this program. For me, school is a top priority. I
always strive to be my best, and my G.P.A. proves my point. I put 100% effort into everything I
do. I am not nervous to talk to adults, and address any questions I have. To be at this high of a
level of difficulty demands hard work and devotion, and I have those qualities. There is so much
in this program that will help me succeed in life. First of all, this program will help me graduate
collegea year earlier than the rest of my class. I am already young for my grade, so if I am involved
in this program I will graduate college at the age of 20 years old. I will be two years younger
than most my graduating class. This will help progress me in life, and give me a jump start.
Also, the financial help is huge to me. In my family, the burden of paying for college is placed
on the children. I have a job, and a special bank account, and every paycheck that I get goes into
that account to make sure I have money for college. But, if I got into this program, the stress of
paying for college for two years will be taken off my shoulders. This program goes along with my
plan. After high school, I am going to go to Muskegon Community College and receive my
associate s degree, and then transfer to a state school where I will achieve my masters degree.
My ultimate career/educational goal is to go to college and earn my bachelor s degree. I have not

Lately in the United States, there is tension. Citizens do or say things that others prefer not to see

offensive statements it is a whole different circumstance. Some professors are offered a contract in
which they are allowed to do and say whatever they please, but others are not. Even though the
amount of tenurecontracts offered are decreasing, Jeanne Zaino, the author of Offensive Speech and
the Contingency Clause: Adjuncts who are outspoken are losing their jobs, published on the
website Inside Higher Ed., believes professors and their jobs should still be protected under the
First Amendment. Zaino references back to the story of two professors who publicly stated very
unpopular opinion. They ended up fired due to their public statements. According to Zaino, these
two should have not been fired. On the other hand, the professors should have known better because
they represent a university. These professors knew what the consequences would be after making
their statements. Besides the fact that I disagree with Jeanne Zaino, the essay is fairly written. It
is not perfect due to its poor assumptions of what the reader must already know and believe.
Although, these are key components, the author did a good job by explaining what was currently
happening and showed a decent amount of research to back up their credibility. Zaino did a decent
job writing her persuasive piece.
Zaino started off the piece bringing in background information by describing what the two
professors who lost their job said. Katherine Dettwyler from the University of Delaware would not
be allowed back to the school after her public statement. One of the University s students recently
passed away. Shortly after his passing, Katherine called him a, clueless white male and that he got
exactly what he deserved. The other professor, Lisa Durden, was fired after she stated on a national
TV show that, you white people are angry because you couldn t use your white privilege card to get
into a Black Lives Matter event. After Zanio described these current events, she transitioned into her
positron on the situation. She finds that what the

The Trade Policies Around The World
The trade policies around the world are different depending on which country a person lives in.
There are many different regulations because there are so many different foreign policies. If a
person wants to be successful in doing business globally, then they would have to abide by the
country they are interested in doing business with, standards of how to do business. It would be
disrespectful to try to do business with another country and not know any of their customs or
beliefs, because what you are bringing to the table could be offensive to them which could leave
you empty handed if one does not operate right under the business standards of the foreign
company. Even though it behooves a business person to abide by another country s foreign trade
policy some of the other country s policies may be offensive to the investor. The best thing to
focus on when doing business with another country is to come to an equal understanding on point
of views, they may have to agree to disagree on some things but, the most important thing to
remember is to try to make money with other countries to extend your business to new heights.
When an investor set point of views to the side and focus on the matter at hand, and that is to
make money, then they will be more comfortable abiding by another county s way of doing
business. The trade policy I am going to write about is the trade policy in China. Present day

Pros And Cons Of Heroes
The term hero is viewed differently by separate individuals at various levels. The meaning or who
is considered a hero depends on several factors such as the context, the culture, the virtues, and
other social factors existing in a community. An act can be heroic or offensive depending on where,
when or how a person conducts it. Therefore, a herois a person who is believed by others to possess
powers, strengths, special achievements or personal qualities which the ordinary man does not
have or someone who is a role model. However, as much as heroes are people who others praise
for certain reasons, they equally possess evident setbacks depending on the different varied views
of individuals. It is, therefore, clear that heroes possess certain qualities which can be viewed
positively or negatively depending on the various individual differences.
One of the pros of heroes is the ability to serve as role models and mentors. The outstanding
qualities of heroes include selflessness, patience, bravery, humility, kindness, and perseverance.
Heroes are people who put others lives first before them. Also, heroes are individuals who
sacrifice themselves to support others to get out of stressful situations despite the hardships they
may undergo. In some cases, heroes sacrifice their lives at the expense of those whom they
serve. For instance, soldiers risk their lives to defend their country from terrorism. Equally,
firefighters take courage to rescue lives from massive fires. Heroes, therefore, are risk takers,
brave and capable of leading others to resolve crises globally or at the personal level. It does not
mean that by doing such deeds heroes don t value their lives, but they value humanity more.
Heroes save lives. They dedicate their careers to help the poor and the underprivileged. They
labor to end social injustice and toil to come up with new medical discoveries. Heroes spend a
part of or most of their time in doing charity work. For instance, providing food for the hungry,
visiting the sick and providing free medication is the work of heroes who serve without reward.
Also, those who discover certain medicines that heal diseases are heroes serving in that capacity.
Researchers in the medical field spend most

How Did Atoms From The Universe End Up Being In Hubble s...
From Bang to Brain Lachlan Hall
Let s go back in time, about eighty years from now. A young astronomer named Edwin Hubble had
contributed to a theory that would explain the origins of the universe. He discovered that atoms
were in everything, including his brain. This article is to discover how exactly did atoms from the
universe end up being in Hubble s brain? So let s find out how we got From Bang to Brain .
Let s start with the Big Bang Theory . In 1927 the big bang theory was proposed by Georges

Cosmic background radiation is radiation from the early development of the universe. After the
big bang the universe was smaller and much hotter than it is now and was filled with a fog of
hydrogen plasma. Eventually the universe started expanding and became cooler. As it cooled
stable atoms started forming, leaving only CMB remained so it is a strong evidence that the Big
Bang Theory was correct. Scientist thought if the big bang actually happened then there would
have to be cosmic background radiation left over, so all they had to do is find evidence of this
and they did so this gave the big bang theory evidence to support their claim.
Another way to support the Big Bang Theory is to look at the stars. According to the Big Bang
Theory the universe is forever changing and expanding and looking up at the stars just proves
this. If you look up at the stars we only see the stars that their light has reached us meaning these
stars are only new, so if we don t so some stars the light hasn t reached us yet. As we know light
travels in light years which takes well years, so if we can t see their light it hasn t reached us so it

Understanding The Underdog Archetype
The year was 2000 and the Patriots, a team that was 5 11, seemed hopeless in 2001, Their
Quarterback was out and it was looking like another losing season was coming. A scrub came
off the bench, a nobody, a dude that looked weaker then my grandpa. He stepped on the field
after a heartbreaking injury. Then this scrub started doing pretty good, then really good and
even leading his team to the playoffs with a 11 5 record. He somehow made it to the to the
Super bowl against one of the greatest teams and quarterbacks ever. They only lost one game
that season. But somehow, some way, they won by one man. A man who had 198 people picked
over him. A backup to a sub par backup. He just won the super bowl, Tom Brady won the super
bowl, and now is one of the greats. At this point in his career he is the definition of an underdog....

The Underdog is a character that is not expected to win but beats someone who s way better than
them or overcomes amazing obstacles. Like in the movie Rudy, Rudy is told time and time
again that he couldn t do it. He has one goal; to play football for Notre Dame but he sucks no
matter how much he tries. By some miracle he makes it and still doesn t play until his last home
game at Notre Dame. So he overcame many obstacles, beat the odds, and played over those who
were supposed too be better. This is another example of the underdog. This is one example of
many. The underdog is trying to get to a point, or beat something that seems almost impossible to
beat. By going through training and obstacles, they beat the crazy goal like Rudy

Practicing Professionalism
Professionalism is the competence expected of an individual to properly execute given tasks. In
dance, it is important to introduce respect, organization, and focus as the essentials of a performer.
Establishing professional methods in class will assist others in distinguishing your dedication and
commitment to the artform. Practicing professionalism in daily performance leads to improved
performance in the future because of repetitive conduct during classes. If a dancer consistently
puts forth the effort to work hard and focus in class, they are more likely to adopt these concepts
into their everyday lifestyle and develop their talent more. Famous ballerinas such as Misty
Copeland and Tamara Rojo have led successful careers in the world of

  • 3. The Issue Of Abortion On The United States As Sam Brownback once quoted, Unborn children do not have a voice, but they are young members of the human family. It is time to look at the unborn child, and recognize that it is really a young human, who can feel pain and should be treated with care. In America alone, more than half of pregnancies among American woman are unintended, and about seven out of ten of these 500,000 unintended pregnancies are terminated by abortion each year in America. In today s modern American culture, many consider an unborn fetusa non life form; however, an unborn fetus possesses many, if not all, characteristics of life. The issue of abortion in the United States has been one that has courted controversy and created a public, ethical, and moral division in our American society and culture. Different opinions and views on this contraceptive subject has brought on multitudinous moral and ethical arguments. Morally, many people in our modern culture believe that if the mother of the unborn child has certain mental issues or health issues, it is suitable for that mother to terminate the life of her unborn child for the better health of the baby and for the mother herself. However; once an unborn fetus is aborted, the symptoms after an abortion have long term and lasting impacts on the mother that can worsen the mother s health and mental stability. After an abortion, many mothers have experienced extreme sadness and anger, periods of long term depression and regret, and some have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Australian government is constantly making changes to keep up with new demand for protection. New laws are constantly being introduced to keep Australians safe and stamp out home grown terrorism. Over the last few years preventative detention orders and control orders have been introduced in an attempt to reduce the risk of attacks on Australian soil. Stricter anti terrorism laws have made the wider community feel safer, however, is it possible that these laws have compromised human rights of certain individual? The smell of cleats reeking along with the molded mouth guards and practice jerseys. This is what is known as the first day of football tryouts. All the little ones gather around their friends eager like it is Christmas morning ready to be running around and hitting people. Each one brought up to know the nothing but live, breathe, sleep lifestyle of football. But not everyone knows that lifestyle. After consulting, the coach found out his reasoning being, when he played as a child, they did not have all the gear to entirely be safe and this worried the dad that the same thing would happen to his son. But because football has changed and teaches kids to stay in shape and learn life skills such as sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, and teamwork, parents should take the risk and let their kids play the game. By participating in football people can learn sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, and teamwork. Considering the many lessons it teaches, teamwork and discipline play the main role. With teamwork, players/children are learning how to trust their teammates the more experience they have with each other. As for discipline, it teaches kids to work hard and set good goals which can be helpful for them in the future as opposed to not playing, and being a step behind. NFL expert Jobe Lewis says that football requires a pretty unique brand of teamwork and requires the player to discipline himself and to work hard (Lewis 1). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. John De Crevecoeur And Phillis Wheatley The Seduction Of... For J. Hector St. John De CrГЁvecoeur and Phillis Wheatley the seduction of freedom was strong enough to have a hold over them throughout their lives. They express obtaining or wanting independence through writing about certain myths of American culture and identity. This idea of unfiltered, unbiased liberty saturates images of America. Even before it officially became a gaggle of nations, North America was known as a wide open space full of possibilities. CrГЁvecoeur and Wheatley want the opportunity of self determination, but it comes easier for one and with more complications for the other. Wheatley has the added disadvantage of her race and gender, while CrГЁvecoeur comes to these lands with all possibilities open and within reach. These outstanding factors affect the way these two write about American identity. CrГЁvecoeur s Letters of An American Farmer: What is an American and various poems by Wheatley comment on the experience of being an American and share a critique on oppression, but there is a dichotomy in their specific views of the American Dreamand the Self Made Man due to their different positions in society. The American Dream is the idea that every person should have an equal opportunity to achieve success. CrГЁvecoeur and Wheatley do not explicitly reiterate this definition, but the idea permeates their writings. In Letters of an American Famer CrГЁvecoeur writes, we are the most perfect society now existing in the world. Here man is free as he ought to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moon Stone Research Paper Shelton Hawkins Jr. English 3 Pd. 5 Mrs. Ermanni 12 May 2017 Moonstone In mostly all of the 19th century the social ranking of an individual is what set them apart from others. An example of something that would show a high social rank would be one s jewelry. Back in the Victorian age the most precious thing an individual could have was jewelry. John Plotz says, On the one hand, through jewelry one establishes a sense of personal worth and identity. On the other hand, jewelry s very elegance lies in its impersonality (Plotz 26). Anything that could easily be transported was also very important to the Victorians. Victorians were the first people to so closely identified with their belongings (Cohen 38). Wilkie Collins wanted to magnify the actual traits of the Victorian people. Collins did an excellent job Collins created a fictional study representing these Victorian traits within the characters of the novel and doing so throughout the entire novel. The way Collins was able to implement the diamond into the novel with as much power and as much influence on the characters as it had was incredible. • 9. Rama Vs Odyssey Realism versus Perfection: Throughout history, different cultures have created heroes as representations of the ideals that these cultures value. Often times these heroes have very little or no flaws, such is the case with the Hindu hero Rama. On the other hand, some heroes have many virtuous attributes to them, while still containing flaws, creating a more realistic and achievable hero, such as with Odysseus. Both of these heroes represent the principles that were valued from their respective cultures of origin; therefore, the heroes themselves are representations of the society during the time of their (the heroes) creation. These heroes serve as guides to how the people of their respective cultures try to lead their lives, which makes Perfect heroes problematic for people who try to follow their actions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although Odysseus and Rama are similar in the fact that they are both heroes who long to reunite with their respective wives, the differences between them are clear. Odysseus is a very flawed character, which allows modern readers to relate to him easier than Rama, who is nearly perfect in every aspect, and serves more as an idealization of how to behave in Hindu culture, rather than a realistic and relatable hero. Despite their differences, both heroes share a common journey. Odysseus s journey takes place after the war, with Odysseus choosing to fight in the war for ten years, voluntarily leaving his family behind. Likewise, Rama chose to accept his fourteen year exile out of respect to his father, despite his family and community begging him to stay and rule as king. However, Odysseus causes the prolonging of his return home, due to his arrogance after outsmarting Polyphemus, whereas Ravana kidnapping Sita prolonged and increased the difficulty of Rama s exile. Another similarity between the two stems from the divine forces that helped them along their journeys. Rama, being a reincarnation of the god Vishnu, has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It also creates their mindset to determine how one think about themselves or and different view point on topic. It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. The only obligation which I have a right to assume is to do at any time what I think right. It is truly enough said that a corporation has no conscience; but a corporation of conscientious men is a corporation with a conscience.(127) And in Self Reliance by Emerson: To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius. (109) To develop into an individual is to make every choice based upon your own personal belief, no matter what society says, and to act upon your belief . Emerson thought that all great works were products of individualism and self reliance, claiming that: In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty. Great works of art have no more affecting lesson for us than this. They teach us to abide by our spontaneous impression with good humored inflexibility then most when the whole cry of voices is on the other side. Else, to morrow a stranger will say with masterly good sense precisely what we have thought and felt all the time, and we shall be forced to take with shame our own opinion from another. (109) Emerson considered individuality as doing whatever he wanted and ignoring what the people think, which we can find in his words: What I must do is all that concerns me, not ... In Greek, Helen was Menelaus wife until Paris took her back to Troy. Because she was not fairly obtained as a prize through battle, Paris is that man [who] robbed / of [Menelaus ] sumptuous, warm wife (Iliad, III, 61 62). A wife is usually seen as a prized treasure to Greek and Trojan men alike, so when Helen was stolen, it was an insult to Menelaus pride. Had he done nothing about it, then the Greeks would be cowards for not fighting to claim back what was rightfully theirs, and letting anyone step over them and casually taking things from them. English literature is the essential piece in ruling a country and determining the future for that country. In England, English literature has evolved through a number of versions due to the changes made to the policies and laws, religion, culture, and the monarchy. Henry VIII was born on June 28, 1491 by Elizabeth of York and Henry VII at Greenwich Palace (BBC News). In his early age, he was very interested in the arts and enjoyed reading literature. In 1509, Henry VIII succeeded his father Henry VII (1457 1509), but had originally become heir to the throne after his older brother, Prince Arthur, died in 1502 (Henry VIII (r.1509 1547)). He reigned during the House of Tudor monarchy when he was only eighteen years old until he died in 1547, having Edward VI succeed him. Throughout his years of reign, he married six women including: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr. • 14. Neolithic Revolution Or Agricultural Revolution Molly FitzPatrick Parolin, 7th hour AP World History September 15, 2017 Neolithic Government Around 12,000 years ago the Neolithic or Agricultural Revolution began. This period started after the end of the last ice age. The Neolithic Revolution brought the first organized government. The Neolithic Revolution made government essential because there was a need to organize the more expansive population, large construction projects, and trade with other Neolithic Villages. During the Neolithic Revolution not only did the amount of surplus food grow, but so did the population creating a need for organization from a leader or some sort of government. According to scholars, the world s population 10,000 years ago was a microscopic 6 million people. By comparison there are 6 billion people estimated on Earth today. The population then grew to about 50 million people by 5,000 years ago. What took place during those 5,000 years? The agricultural revolution began just about 12,000 years ago or 10,000 B.C.E. During that time the last ice age ended, creating a more stable environment for growing crops and domesticating animals. The domestication of plants and animals created a surplus of food compared to the amount of food in gathering and hunting societies. An abundance of food allowed more people to live in each village. An example of population growth in a Neolithic Village is the early agricultural settlement of Jericho located in present day Israel. Jericho was uncovered by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. The Assassination Of President Abraham Lincoln Essay One of the most tragic moments throughout all American history in my opinion is the Assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. With no surprise I am writing about certain event that occurred leading up to, during, and after this unfortunate event. This historical event is clouded with conspiracy but I will try to avoid specifics of that particular view. Abraham Lincolnwas born in a little town located within Hardin Country, Kentucky on February 12, 1809 (www.whitehouse.gov/abrahamlincoln). He grew up dirt poor and in my opinion could be considered a frontiers man just like his father was. His mother on the other hand passed away when Lincoln was at a very young age. Lincoln was also in my opinion of great intelligence, hard worker, and a very ambitious young man. He would farm and run a store in New Salem, Illinois (www.whitehouse.gov). A little less known tale about him is that he was a very good wrestler back in the day and received his nick name honest Abe for walking a library book several miles to be returned. He met the love of his life May Todd after becoming a dynamic lawyer and had four young boys. Sadly only one lived to see adult hood (www.history.com). Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United Statesof America in 1861. At this time the states where not so united. As a matter of fact 13 of them had succeeded from the union in the same year President Lincoln was elected (1861). The historical significance of this time was known as the ... While in jail King received a letter written by eight Alabama clergymen criticizing King for his disruptive protests and the breaking of laws which lead to his arrest. In response King wrote an open letter explaining his actions that would be known as Letter from Birmingham Jail. In his letter Dr. King effectively addresses an unsympathetic audience by focusing on building his credibility rather than seeking an emotional response. The largest challenge Dr. King faced in writing his response was that his audience did not respect him. As a result of the laws he devoted himself to protest, Dr. King was a second class citizen. To the white clergymen he was addressing he was both socially and legally inferior. The feeling of supremacy that the clergymen, and many other whites, had toward blacks at the time made them largely unsympathetic to their plight. Evaluating KuhnВґs Theory of Scientific Development Essay Introduction The scientific revolution started in the 16th and 17th century with development of the scientific theories (Hatch, n.d.). These Scientific theories are detailed explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on knowledge that has been repeatedly duplicated through observation and experimental procedures. The understanding or the attempt to understand the human s perspective of the world through scientific theories is the birth to the philosophy of science (Okasha, 2002). Each paradigm starts as a normal science which goes through consensus verification by the science community through scientific analysis, constructive criticism and scientific induction. Kuhn view is clearly illustrated in his book the structure of scientific revolution. He traced the origin of his thesis to a moment in 1947 when he was working toward a doctorate in physics at Harvard. James B. Conant, the chemist who was the president of the university, had asked him to teach a class in science for undergraduates majoring in the humanities (The Guardian, 2012). The lecture at the time was on the history and development of science. While understudying Aristotle s Physics, he realized how his concepts of motion were different from Newton s concepts of motion and matter. Thomas Kuhn in his scientific model breaks down the history of development of science into three stages which include normal of science, accumulation of anomaly and then the paradigm shift (Kuhn, 1996). The normal period of science starts with the creation of an accepted boundary for scientific findings by the science community called the paradigm. This paradigm provides objective tools used by scientist to solve scientific problem thereby creating theories that fit within the boundaries. Her legacy was almost extinct, but survived and restored the relationship that society has with its island home. More than 600 years had gone by without seeing one of these canoes, until artist Herb Kane thought to build a sailing canoe just like the ones his ancestors sailed (Hokulea.com). Polynesia was a massive country forming a triangle that stretched between New Zealand in the west, Rapa Nui in the east, and Hawaii in the north. This triangle covered 10 million square miles. It was discovered by these amazing people who were like the astronauts of the time, because of their amazing exploration skills. Remarkably, these Polynesians arrived in Hawaii 1,000 years before Columbus sailed to the Americas. They were considered some of the greatest explorers in all of history. These explorers were able to discover every livable land mass and island in the Pacific, without the use of modern technology. All they had were canoes that were very similar to the Hokulea. Polynesian explorers relied heavily on the stars, winds, waves, and other signs from nature to navigate the ocean. Fortunately for Maine, the state tends to promote accessibility to all citizens, which is not common amongst state welfare bureaucracies. All major Mesoamerican cultures proudly presented a jaguar god. Jaguars are known for their power and aggressive strength. They are great hunters and one of the big cats that can tolerate water. Most information that is known about Mayan culture and Mesoamerican societies comes from the countless and scrupulous findings on stone monuments, murals, documents, adorned vases, and conventional sources, where we can survey that the Maya carried out religious exercises with most of these objects. This is evident of the Mayan jaguar lidded vessel from the Fresno Art Museum. Vessels are vases that were used not for just funerary purposes, but also for rituals, offerings, and a plethora of other daily activities. Other important details about jaguar symbolism in Mesoamerican cultures include the fact that the word for jaguar, bahlam, appears in many of the names of Mayan kings than any other animals. This is not surprising since the jaguar is the mighty emperor of crafty force. Andrea Stone and Marc Zender state in their book, Reading Maya Art: A Hieroglyphic Guide to Ancient Maya Paintings and Sculptures, that, The jaguars ferocity made it an ideal insignia of warriors who wore jaguar parts to wear it like a badge of honor, whether it was the head, skin, tail, or paws. Even though the amount of tenurecontracts offered are decreasing, Jeanne Zaino, the author of Offensive Speech and the Contingency Clause: Adjuncts who are outspoken are losing their jobs, published on the website Inside Higher Ed., believes professors and their jobs should still be protected under the First Amendment. Zaino references back to the story of two professors who publicly stated very unpopular opinion. They ended up fired due to their public statements. According to Zaino, these two should have not been fired. On the other hand, the professors should have known better because they represent a university. These professors knew what the consequences would be after making their statements. Besides the fact that I disagree with Jeanne Zaino, the essay is fairly written. It is not perfect due to its poor assumptions of what the reader must already know and believe. Although, these are key components, the author did a good job by explaining what was currently happening and showed a decent amount of research to back up their credibility. Zaino did a decent job writing her persuasive piece. Zaino started off the piece bringing in background information by describing what the two professors who lost their job said. Katherine Dettwyler from the University of Delaware would not be allowed back to the school after her public statement. One of the University s students recently passed away. Shortly after his passing, Katherine called him a, clueless white male and that he got exactly what he deserved. The other professor, Lisa Durden, was fired after she stated on a national TV show that, you white people are angry because you couldn t use your white privilege card to get into a Black Lives Matter event. After Zanio described these current events, she transitioned into her positron on the situation. She finds that what the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead of school being boring and torturous, it could be viewed as an opportunity to put the skills learned in their Critical Thinking class to the test. There would also be less problems waking up and therefore making it to class on time. No more napping in class, instead students would be note taking and teachers would see the increased enthusiasm in their class. The teachers would be motivated to work even harder to teach their students all they can. Why would teachers want to teach if they know that the students couldn t care less? If teachers see students participating and not acting out then they would also be motivated to help the students learn even more than what is specified in the curriculum. Regular and advanced students would surpass any of the other schools. The school would work at least ten times more efficiently and productively. Everyone would be enthusiastic and successful in school. Mr. Principal if adding a class could determine whether your school is average or above average, would you take the chance? • 40. The Trade Policies Around The World The trade policies around the world are different depending on which country a person lives in. There are many different regulations because there are so many different foreign policies. If a person wants to be successful in doing business globally, then they would have to abide by the country they are interested in doing business with, standards of how to do business. It would be disrespectful to try to do business with another country and not know any of their customs or beliefs, because what you are bringing to the table could be offensive to them which could leave you empty handed if one does not operate right under the business standards of the foreign company. Even though it behooves a business person to abide by another country s foreign trade policy some of the other country s policies may be offensive to the investor. The best thing to focus on when doing business with another country is to come to an equal understanding on point of views, they may have to agree to disagree on some things but, the most important thing to remember is to try to make money with other countries to extend your business to new heights. When an investor set point of views to the side and focus on the matter at hand, and that is to make money, then they will be more comfortable abiding by another county s way of doing business. • 41. Pros And Cons Of Heroes The term hero is viewed differently by separate individuals at various levels. The meaning or who is considered a hero depends on several factors such as the context, the culture, the virtues, and other social factors existing in a community. An act can be heroic or offensive depending on where, when or how a person conducts it. Therefore, a herois a person who is believed by others to possess powers, strengths, special achievements or personal qualities which the ordinary man does not have or someone who is a role model. However, as much as heroes are people who others praise for certain reasons, they equally possess evident setbacks depending on the different varied views of individuals. It is, therefore, clear that heroes possess certain qualities which can be viewed positively or negatively depending on the various individual differences. One of the pros of heroes is the ability to serve as role models and mentors. The outstanding qualities of heroes include selflessness, patience, bravery, humility, kindness, and perseverance. Heroes are people who put others lives first before them. Also, heroes are individuals who sacrifice themselves to support others to get out of stressful situations despite the hardships they may undergo. In some cases, heroes sacrifice their lives at the expense of those whom they serve. For instance, soldiers risk their lives to defend their country from terrorism. Equally, firefighters take courage to rescue lives from massive fires. Heroes, therefore, are risk takers, brave and capable of leading others to resolve crises globally or at the personal level. It does not mean that by doing such deeds heroes don t value their lives, but they value humanity more. Heroes save lives. They dedicate their careers to help the poor and the underprivileged. They labor to end social injustice and toil to come up with new medical discoveries. Heroes spend a part of or most of their time in doing charity work. For instance, providing food for the hungry, visiting the sick and providing free medication is the work of heroes who serve without reward. Also, those who discover certain medicines that heal diseases are heroes serving in that capacity. Researchers in the medical field spend most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A young astronomer named Edwin Hubble had contributed to a theory that would explain the origins of the universe. He discovered that atoms were in everything, including his brain. This article is to discover how exactly did atoms from the universe end up being in Hubble s brain? So let s find out how we got From Bang to Brain . Let s start with the Big Bang Theory . In 1927 the big bang theory was proposed by Georges Lemaitre. But was significantly created by our old friend Edwin Hubble. Edwin Hubble lived from 1889 1953 and in this time he did great things such as contribute significantly to the creation of the big bang theory and also was the developer of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cosmic background radiation is radiation from the early development of the universe. After the big bang the universe was smaller and much hotter than it is now and was filled with a fog of hydrogen plasma. Eventually the universe started expanding and became cooler. As it cooled stable atoms started forming, leaving only CMB remained so it is a strong evidence that the Big Bang Theory was correct. Scientist thought if the big bang actually happened then there would have to be cosmic background radiation left over, so all they had to do is find evidence of this and they did so this gave the big bang theory evidence to support their claim. Another way to support the Big Bang Theory is to look at the stars. According to the Big Bang Theory the universe is forever changing and expanding and looking up at the stars just proves this. If you look up at the stars we only see the stars that their light has reached us meaning these stars are only new, so if we don t so some stars the light hasn t reached us yet. As we know light travels in light years which takes well years, so if we can t see their light it hasn t reached us so it is light years away.
