- 5. What do typical double page spreads look like? A large title (sometimes large enough to spread across both pages) A large photo of the celebrity the article is about Smaller photos to accompany facts Alternating colours in the text to create a greater variance. Sometimes have the magazine title Quotes Page number Sometimes the page split can go through the photo of the celebrity
- 6. How have these conventions been included in my own magazine? In my Cover Page, I have included: Quotes Masthead Price Issue number/date Headlines of articles inside Photos of Popstars Advertisements of competitions A Barcode Website address

In the Contents Page I have included: Photos to accompany the articles The same colour scheme as the cover All the Articles listed in chronological order in their different categories with page numbers. Advertisements Articles listed are all relevant to the target market

In the Double Page Spread I included: Large Title that spreads across both pages A quote for a title A large photo of the celebrity that the article is about Interview questions and answer, the questions being the kind of question the target market is looking for an answer to. Smaller photos that relate to certain sections Page number A website link, making use of the online content The magazine logo A brief synopsis of the article below the title
- 9. What have I done differently? I found this cover to be too cluttered and made it quite tiring to look at. I also felt too many of the colours were to similar, and made it difficult for certain headlines to be noticed. Therefore I made my cover not as busy. Allowing someone to take in the details and not be overwhelmed. I also kept the colours varied, but within the same colour scheme
- 10. What have I done differently? I didn’t like how the split between the two pages went through the celebrity’s face. It engulfs apart of his face making him look distorted. Therefore, I made sure that on my magazine the face wasn’t down the crack. I also made sure no writing was too close to the line, in case some of the words became unreadable.
- 11. What have I done differently? I felt that there were too many different colours, and was harsh on the eyes. I think the problem was that the background was yellow and orange, which are very sharp colours, making it hard for other colours to work with it. Each Category is a different colour (Blue, red and Purple) and I find it to look a bit repulsive. Therefore I made the background on my magazine a very pale cream colour and kept to a few colours as possible. I avoided colours that didn’t compliment the colour scheme, apart from the green top that the celebrity is wearing, to stand out.
- 12. How have I pushed the boundaries of this form? I pushed the boundaries by: Using unusual poses in my photos My photos all follow a certain style and editing. I kept the colour scheme throughout, making the few times something isn’t in the colour scheme, really stand out. I tried to keep the pages fairly simplistic, so people don’t get overwhelmed when reading it.
