Modern Times Group reported strong financial results for Q1 2006, with net sales increasing by 37% to SEK 2,377 million and operating income more than doubling to SEK 453 million. The pay-TV Nordic segment achieved a 30% growth in premium subscriber base, while free-to-air TV in Scandinavia reported improved margins and stable ratings. The Central and Eastern Europe division also exhibited significant growth, transitioning from net loss to operating profit for the first time.
