This document provides information about MentLife, a mentorship program for PhD students in life science areas coordinated between Lund University and industry. The program will provide opportunities for personal and career development, an understanding of research in industry, and increased collaboration between academia and industry. Mentors from industry and academia will meet individually and at group meetings with mentees from September 2013 to May 2014, with seminars also offered. The agenda outlines an introduction, participant presentations, discussions on mentorship and career paths, and a concluding meal.

6. MentLife -Mentors
Are recruited from scientists with a PhD degree and currently
working in industry or academia or are senior scientists
They are specialists or leaders of research and have experience in
collaborative work with academia.
They have an extensive network in industry and academia on a
national as well as international level.
We are doing this because we feel strongly that the collective
experience we have as scientists in leading positions is not used in
an effective way to support students and collaboration with industry.
This initiative will have spin off effects for example finding talented
researchers and support of small build up companies.
