Editor's Notes

  • #8 Uppsala BIO-X is a unique and structured process to transform research results into proof of concept. A financial grant helps the group to focus during their time in BIO-X, usually two years. During the BIO-X process, the projects are carefully followed, evaluated and connected to the locally present network of savvied industrialists and entrepreneurs. BIO-X’s results are promising. Projects selected have a very good track record and the program attracts a huge flow of new ideas for product development from groups earlier unfamiliar with the innovation system. The local network of experts, their global links and BIO-X’s Scientific Advisory Board are some of the success factors behind BIO-X.
