How to manage web projects without setting your hair on fireKathy Gill
It seems like everyone in the organization believes they know what makes a website "work" despite having no design training. Managers insist that "their" pages look or act in ways directly contrary to the rest of the website. Or the web.
What are the unique characteristics of the web that make managing design a challenge? How can we empower stakeholders while also creating a seamless user experience? And how would an iterative, collaborative design process facilitate a responsive web, one where sites work well on phones, tablets and desktops?

The New Model of Interaction in Social NetworksSharlyn Lauby
America Empresarial, Bogota, 2011
The concept of social networking isn’t just for young people anymore. More and more businesses and professionals are using social media as a way to generate revenue and interact with customers (both internally and externally.) When case studies show the use of social tools exceeds email, then businesses have to stand up, take notice and join the movement. For business professionals, this becomes an opportunity to develop an internal marketing and communications strategy to support our organizations.
But what exactly is the philosophy behind social networking? This presentation offers an overview to the purpose of social media and the key considerations for developing and implementing a social networking strategy in your organization.
This is the PowerPoint presentation that accompanies Dan Dunlop's social media webinar conducted on October 20, 2009. In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.

Social Media : new era - traditional gatekeeper role diminished : gone is the audience as passive vessel for information
In medicine, the gatekeeper has traditionally been the doctor’s office. Research from the Pew Internet & Life Project shows that 61 percent of adults seek health information on line . Scenario example here from http://laboratory-manager.advanceweb.com/features/articles/social-medias-promise-for-healthcare.aspx?CP=2 With just six months until his 15th high school reunion, Ben realizes his varsity six-pack is looking more like a bench-warming Big Gulp. He Googles "weight loss apps" and downloads two to his phone--both free. One turns his iPhone into a pedometer and the other lets him set weight-loss goals and track his progress.Ben e-mails his doctor telling her that he's decided to lose some weight. He promises to do it sensibly. He then updates his Facebook status with a challenge to his friends to join him in his fitness quest. His sister sees his update and sends him a link to her favorite low-fat cooking blog.Meanwhile, Ben's doctor has replied with a reminder that his annual physical is scheduled for the next week with a link to an online Health Risk Assessment (HRA). After Ben completes the HRA, he is invited to create a personal health journal that will be reviewed weekly by a nurse practitioner. In addition, his insurance provider sends him a thank-you e-mail with a coupon for a complimentary one-hour session with a personal trainer that can be used at a nearby fitness center.
