Muneera. T V
Some question answers
Psychology is the study of the
relationship between mental
processes and behavior or the
science of behavior and mental
processes.Challenges in normal life
situations like relationships, mental
disorders, bereavement and
choosing career can affect anyone in
the society.
Why is psychology important in
today's society?
The purpose of psychology is to
describe thinking and behavior,
look at the relationships between
them and try to explain the causes
for them. A
psychologist's intention is to
understand, predict and/or
influence behavior.
What is the main purpose of a psychologist?
Four primary goals of
psychology are to
1. Describe
2. Explain
3. Predict
4. behavior.
What are the four main goals of psychology?
Biopsychology. Biopsychology is a branch of
psychology is focused on how the brain, neurons,
and nervous system influence thoughts, feelings,
and behaviors. This field draws on many different
disciplines including basic psychology
experimental psychology
biology
Physiology
cognitive psychology
neuroscience.
What are the different
branches of psychology?
Psychology Perspectives. An approach is a
perspective that involves certain
assumptions about human behavior: the way
they function, which aspects of them are
worthy of study and what research methods
are appropriate for undertaking this study.
What are the different
approaches to psychology?
The most influential ones and its
main founders are:
Behaviorism: Watson.
Cognitivism: Aaron T. Beck, Albert
Ellis.
Humanistic/Gestalt: Carl Rogers.
Psychoanalytic school: Freud.
Systems psychology.
What are the different schools of
psychology?
Because psychiatrists are trained medical
doctors, they can prescribe medications, and
they spend much of their time with patients
on medication management as a course of
treatment. Psychologists focus extensively on
psychotherapy and treating emotional and
mental suffering in patients with behavioral
intervention.
What is the difference between a psychiatrist
and a psychologist?
Social psychology is about understanding
individual behavior in a social context. ... 'the
scientific field that seeks to understand the
nature and causes of individual behavior
in social situations' (p. 6). It therefore looks at
human behavior as influenced by other people
and the social context in which this occurs.
Why is social psychology so important?
Knowledge about brain function and
behavior is of considerable benefit to
students studying other science degrees
develop sound analytical skills through
the application of scientific
method. Psychology is a science.
In psychology we use this scientific
approach to learn about behavior and
mental life
Why do we need to study psychology?
The following are some of the top
ten practical uses for psychology
in everyday life.
Get Motivated.
Improve Your Leadership Skills.
Become a Better Communicator.
Learn to Better Understand Others.
Make More Accurate Decisions.
Improve Your Memory
Make Wiser Financial Decisions
Get Better Grades.
How do you use psychology in your
everyday life?
Why is it important to study psychology?
Psychology is the study of
people's behavior,
performance, and mental
operations. It also refers to the
application of the knowledge,
which can be used to
understand events, treat
mental health issues, and
improve education,
employment, and relationships
