Audience:
My audience is for mainly older teenagers and young adults but can be enjoyed by older people. It
is going to appeal to both genders and people of any social status. It’s for people who like music
and especially guitar playing as it is about guitars and artists that play them. It would appeal to
people who like music because they can find out more about the people that make their music and
they can learn more about future music that could be coming out. It also appeals to people who
play guitar because they can learn about new guitars and they can find out more things that they
might not know about guitars that they already own. It would appeal to both genders because
people of both genders can play instruments and enjoy music. Older people may also want to buy
this magazine because they may not know how to use the internet and get all their information
from newspapers and magazines and this is the only way that they find out about their favourite
artists and about new guitars.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout the year I have gained more skills in photoshop because I have been using it a lot
more than I was before. I have also been able to understand what looks better when it comes to
design and it doesn’t always have to have a lot there to look good and it can sometimes be on a
white background and still look good. I will use these skills for my front cover and mainly my
double page spread because I can make the text simpler and easier to understand and read. I can
also layout my front covers a lot better than I could before.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
I am going to make a magazine about guitars and artists that play the guitar. I am going to have
information on new and rare guitars. I am also going to talk about new music from new artists and
have some stories from their lives that impacted the way that they make music. For my research I
need to learn lots about the 1969 Japanese telecaster, I need to know where it comes from. What
it sounds like. Why and how it is made and who plays it. I need to know about the different designs
and models and different guitars from that series that are similar and were released at the same
time. For my artist I am going to write about Kurt Cobain because I know there is lots of
information about him and I know a lot about him. I need to find out where he was born and at
what age he started playing instruments and stated to make music. I need to find out who his
family was and what influenced him to play guitar. I need to find out how the different albums were
made and when they were made and what it was about their music that made them popular.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
For my evaluation I am going to look at my work and say what I would think about it if somebody
else had made it. I am also going to compare to my mock product and all my other products that I
have made in media studies and say what I think I could of done better and how good I think it is
compared to my other products. I am going to say how I am going to get better at things that I was
not doing very well with. I am also going to say what I did best and how I can continue doing that in
future products that I make.
